Anabolic steroid are normally prescribed to treat conditions that are related to hormone deficiency ensuing, for example, during puberty. They are also utilized in the treatment of cancer and assists patients. At the end, before the consumption of this drug, one has to have a clear understanding of the results once consumed.

A clear understanding of the steroid will help you know how it works and avoid using it if it is’s not a must for you to take it. Aside from medical prescription, there are individuals who take it as an illegal enhancement drug, which is restricted by the executives in respective states. Intake occurs through injection of steroids into the muscles so as to gain some sort of strength only known to them. Others take it as a pill commodity, which is very tough to sense. These however are not the correct techniques of using the steroid, since later on in life one is likely to suffer once it has amassed in sufficiently high quantities.

Intake of anabolic steroids, whether it has been prescribed by the doctor or out of your own will, can lead to one or even more unattractive effects, this is according to the health experts. The steroid is understood to pose significant health risks, such as psychological obsession that can’t be stopped even after being rehabilitated. Commonly known side effects of anabolic intake include acne, tumors, hair loss, mood swings and others. This depends with an individual since others get out of control while others remain mild or something close to that.
Some risks resulting from anabolic consumption can be irreversible ; this is possible after doing away with the discussed steroid. Therefore it’s advised to take the less powerful ones versus the previous.
The society at large is also advised to watch their family in order to notice the usage in early stages vs later on when it is too late. Signs that could indicate this include aggressive behavior, secrecy, being paranoid and having moods swings. This especially can be experienced among the youths, young adults and players in general. Consumption of anabolic steroid also ends up in a very unexpected increase in weight, development of breast tissue in males, bearded appearance among women among many others.

Epidural steroid injections (ESI) are minimally invasive procedures that are administered for treatment of pain associated with arms, back, neck, and legs and caused by inflamed nerves.

From News-Medical.Net:

“Epidural steroid injections are an important and common option for the treatment of back pain. However, we found that a great variety of techniques are being used. There is no gold standard,” said Dr. Patel, lead author of the study and resident at the University of California at San Diego. “Guidelines may need to be explored with regard to this procedure to increase the effectiveness and decrease risk when using this approach to treat pain.”

Dr. Patel’s study found there were differences from institution to institution regarding which steroid was preferred for these injections. The most common steroids identified for this procedure and respective dose ranges were: depomedrol (dose range 40-120 mg), celestone (dose range 6-15 mg), decadron (dose range 4-12 mg), and kenalog (dose range 10-80 mg).

Yogesh Patel, MD, and his colleagues at UCSD, remarked that variations in techniques can have a significant effect as to why some patients show better results than others from ESI.

NOTE: This blog post is based on my own personal opinion. Nothing in it is intended to offend anyone

NOTE: This blog post is based on my own personal opinion. Nothing in it is intended to offend anyone. Otherwise, please accept my apologies in advance. Thank you.

Back on December 13, 2007, Senator George Mitchell unleashed an investigative report called “the Mitchell Report.” The report wasn’t necessarily intended to suspend drug cheats per se, especially given that most of the players mentioned in the Mitchell Report had already retired, but to prove that the use of illicit performance-enhancing substances of any kind was inevitable in the sports world as a whole, not just in Major League Baseball. Senator Mitchell was so right in saying that those that use illicit substances render those that don’t at a competitive disadvantage.

The investigation of the use of performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) didn’t go into full-scale effect in MLB until 2003, when BALCO started the investigation. Long before that, some players were rumored to have used PEDs such as anabolic steroids, Human Growth Hormones (HGH), and so on. Let’s look at some obvious examples of ballplayers and pitchers whose achievements have been attributed to alleged PED use.

Mark McGwire: “Big Mac” hit 583 home runs in his career. He broke Roger Maris’ single-season home run record of 61 in 1998, despite injuries that nearly prevented him from competing with the likes of Sammy Sosa in the single-season home run chase. Steroid allegations against him began surfacing shortly after he retired, but he denied ever using PEDs.

Mark McGwire in court

Sammy Sosa: He’s the 6th most productive home run hitter in MLB history, with 609 home runs to his name. However, he and A-Rod, although never mentioned in the Mitchell Report, were named and shamed (at least by some people) after a 2003 drug test that surfaced in 2009 revealed their names and even David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez’s names as further evidence that the notion of 5% of the names on that list (or the Mitchell Report) never using steroids is even more questionable than ever. Whoever in their right mind gave the MLBPA permission to disclose that information needs to be fired – seriously!

Miguel Tejada: I don’t even think an explanation is necessary. However, he’s not so much the pinnacle of my concern over this whole steroid thing.

David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez: David “Big Papi” Ortiz admitted to taking over-the-counter drugs, but he said he didn’t use any steroids. Well, maybe he’s right about that and maybe he’s not; even I don’t know for sure. So, we’ll have to wait and see if any additional evidence pops up before we start dissing him even more. I’m not a David Ortiz fan, but I’ve seen games in which he can still hit that ball.

On May 7, 2009, several sources revealed that Manny tested positive for Human Chorionic Gonadatropin (HCG), which is a women’s fertilizer. He got suspended for 50 games. His name was also linked to taking steroids as early as Spring Training ’09…possibly even earlier than that. Who knows? Still, Manny was one of the key forces behind the Dodgers’ successes over the past two MLB seasons (though at neither time did they even survive the NLCS vs. Philadelphia); and Papi broke out of his ’09 slump to surpass Frank Thomas for the most home runs ever hit by a Designated Hitter. And they were the driving force of the Red Sox Nation while they played together for the Red Sox.

A-Rod: You either love this man to death or you wish he would go away. Personally, I had lots of respect for A-Rod, and I still do even though the fact that his name was one of the first to surface from the 2003 test – and he admitted it after lying – tarnished some of that respect. He didn’t get suspended, but he spent the first month of the ’09 season on the DL after developing a cyst in his hip (and don’t try to quote Shakira about “Hips Don’t Lie” gimme a break!). Nevertheless, when he returned to the Yanks’ lineup, he served as one of the dominant forces behind the Yanks’ hugely successful 2009 season, finishing with the best record of the season and even making his first World Series appearance…and finally getting a ring in the face of all the garbage being thrown around about “the curse of A-Rod this” and “the curse of A-Rod that.”

A-Rod denied steroid use but ultimately admitted it.

Roger Clemens: I mention this guy because his name has been one of the most widely discussed names in the Mitchell Report alongside Barry Bonds’ name. Back in 2005, David Segui admitted to steroid use and ratted out Mr. Clemens, Andy Pettitte, and others as steroid/HGH users. Although analysts and MLB employees alike disagreed, the truth hurt: Clemens, who made 20 strikeouts on two different occasions in his career and won 7 Cy Young Awards, was indeed named in the Mitchell Report along with Pettitte, Jason and Jeremy Giambi, Barry Bonds, Segui, McGwire, and others. Jason Giambi did admit to using steroids in a 2003 court hearing. And Pettitte admitted to using HGH, but he’ll be forgiven.

Clemens was a totally different story. Just being named in the Mitchell Report was bad enough. The fact that he only further destroyed his own reputation during the February 2008 court hearing was even worse (and to think he sued his trainer, Gerry McNamee, for defamation…blah, blah, blah). FYI, I watched the whole thing on ESPN just before ’08 Spring Training got under way. I was so mad after hearing his never-ending, make-me-wanna-vomit denials that I don’t blame his fans for losing all respect for him. I’m sorry, Clemens fans. He has the third best strikeout record in MLB history (4,672) after Randy Johnson (4,869) and the incomparable Nolan Ryan (5,714), the man who made seven no-hitters in his career…also the most ever, but if Clemens is guilty, will his record amount to anything? We’ll see.

Barry Bonds: Where do I start? This guy is the most highly discussed portrait of a drug cheat, even though he has sworn to the point of turning blue in the face that he never even used steroids. Although he has the MLB-record 762 home runs – only slugger Sadaharu Oh has hit more home runs, with 868 – his records have been and continue to be disputed for Hall of Fame eligibility. Some even parodied his achievements.

The Babe is a baseball legend. Willie “Say Hey Kid” Mays is one of the best the MLB Giants ever had. Hank Aaron of the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves is a legend, too. However, the idiotic anti-fans during Hank’s tenure didn’t see his potential in contrast to the immortal Babe Ruth. Nevertheless, when Aaron hit his 715th home run with the Atlanta Braves on April 8, 1974, that opinion changed forever. Everyone praised his natural talent. Both Hank and Ruth – and other legends way too numerous to mention – are now in the Hall of Fame.

A picture of the Babe.

Hank Aaron held the MLB home run record for 33 years. He congratulated Bonds on the night of his 756th home run.

Bonds used to be a potential Hall of Famer, too, but the shocking evidence that surfaced in recent years put a question mark all over those credentials. Dan Shaughnessy couldn’t have said it better himself. People like Bonds have made everyone (except their fans) so fed up with said players that it was simply sickening. However, the whole ESPN family followed Bonds’ pursuit of the home run record up to the point where he broke it. For your information, I watched that August 7, 2009, telecast on ESPN2 between San Francisco and Washington. When Bonds hit his 756th home run in the middle of the game, ESPN was all “Bonds this, Bonds that, Bonds, Bonds, BONDS!”

Barry Bonds hit his MLB record-smashing 756th home run on August 7, 2007.

The New York Daily News didn’t take this one seriously: they called Bonds a “Bloated Slugger” and declared his accomplishments to be “cheated,” putting the asterisk (*) next to his number and everything. Ditto for the New York Post!

So now I’m wondering all the more: Will there ever be another Babe Ruth or Hank Aaron who hasn’t cheated? Let’s look at some of the current home run power-hitters in baseball.

Ryan Howard: This Phillies slugger is an absolute Home Run Derby all in one. He hit 45 home runs in ’09 (third behind Prince Fielder, who hit 46, and Albert Pujols, who hit 47) and has amassed 222 home runs since his debut in 2004.

Albert Pujols: He can bambinazo his way to the finish line (“Bambinazo” is a Spanish slang-esque word for “hit” or “home run”). Despite not winning the Home Run Derby in his stadium’s All-Star Week, his 47 home runs and 135 RBI gave him a strong possibility of getting his second straight N.L. MVP title and possibly even la Triple Corona (the first Triple Crown award in years). He did win the MVP Award, but not the Triple Crown.

Prince Fielder: Cecil Fielder’s son won the 2009 Home Run Derby and has 160 home runs to his name at the time of this writing. His best season performance to date was his 50-home run season in ’07.

Mark Reynolds: This Arizona Diamondbacks 3B is a baby, but he’s emerging into a rising star. He hit 44 home runs in 2009 and is getting up there since his debut in 2007.

Adrián González: The first slugger in San Diego Padres history to have back-to-back-to-back 30+-HR seasons hit 40 homers in ’09. The previous year saw him hitting 36 home runs.

Mark Teixeira: While he’s not quite a Ryan Howard, he’s getting there.

However, although sometimes I continue to hear that “so-and-so from fill-in-the-blank team got suspended for X, Y, and Z games for testing positive for A, B, and C performance-enhancing substances,” the good news is that only one player out of the 108 players that tested for steroids in 2009, tested positive. So you know the leagues are doing everything in their power to pull out all the stops in implementing the Drug Prevention and Treatment Program more than ever, which means that something’s starting to give (remember the old saying, “Something’s gotta give?”). Let’s hope the policies continue to work so drug use in sports can either be minimized – or better yet, eliminated once and for all.

Who needs illicit substances to perform well in sports, anyway?

ARLINGTON, VA – Pretty much everyone today considers drug prohibition to be a failure. Yet that hasn’t caused politicians and bureaucrats to change related policies and legislation. One example is the funding of anti-drug messages by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (the drug czars office) in music, movies and tv shows. Yes, that’s right – these thugs think they have the right to steal your money, legislate morality and payoff entertainment industry folks to further their message.

A quick Google search turned up this language from 1999, showing that this practice is not recent:

the funds provided for the support of a national media campaign may be used to fund . . . entertainment industry collaborations to fashion anti-drug messages in movies, television programming, and popular music, interactive (Internet and new) media projects/activities

And while I don’t know for sure if that’s the case for the clip below, taken from a HBO series, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Especially since the gov has been doing this type of thing, perhaps a bit less-overt now, since the late 1930’s.

Yet another reason not to support this banditry.
Nothing appears to shake steroids as the activity has spread to all age groups, gender and other human avenues of life.

Many people think that they can’t make it in the profession without using steroids to boost their muscle development. Therefore, resistance trainers are aping what their fellow contesters use to get better than them and some even go a step further of using stronger steroids to come out as the best and this is the worst part where side effects are the outcome of this abuse. However , the body builders can’t help it apart from risk to be the best and win these competitions.

A Buffalo Hump is so not as bad as I thought it would be.

Do a google image search. I was imagining something like a camel hump, really big and obtrusive. The little fat deposit of a Buffalo Hump is so not that bad. Sure, it will take down my cuteness a few notches, but I could work it out.

“What are you talking about?” you may be wondering. Side effects of steroids.

Short term ones are pretty bad. I’m having bloating, irritability, increased thirst, insomnia, trouble healing wounds, weight gain, acid reflux, heart irregularity, headaches, dizziness, and probably more I can’t think of right now.

Well, I wanted to find out what I have to look forward to in the long run. Let’s see… More weight gain (including the Buffalo Hump), diabetes, osteoporosis, glaucoma, ulcers, acne and cataracts.

Hmmm. It makes you think… Is it worth it? Let’s see… I have headaches and dizziness with both, so that’s a wash. I have vision loss with HE, but chance of eye problems with steroids, probably another wash. I have numbness with HE, but weight gain and skin problems with steroids. I would actually pick the numbness on this one.

What else? If untreated I have irreversible brain damage leading to dementia and death with HE… ok that one’s obvious. Steroids win!

I don’t feel horrible today, which is so good. I woke up pretty horrible. Then felt a little better after I ate. Then a little worse again. Right now I just feel sick. Like a flu or something. Lots of pressure in my head and ears. My head just feels full. It makes me dizzy when I move. My body is kinda achy. I guess this would count as an alright day.

Hey, it’s better than yesterday, and much better than the day before. Taking another patient’s advice that she feels awful for 5 days after IV steroids. I’m now on day 4. Maybe I am getting better. Wouldn’t that be great.

You know the other bad side effect of being sick is that you stop caring much about your appearance. I look like hell right now. You’re lucky I combed my hair. I was actually considering posting photos of myself every day to shame myself into putting in a little effort. My “beauty products” have boiled down to soap and toothpaste.

Let me give you a mental picture, because I am way to embarrassed to take an actual one. My hair looks like an old mop. My eyebrows look like they are about to sprout legs and crawl off my face. I have rashes and bruises all over (from injections). My legs look a lot like a cactus. I am wearing an old, stained, men’s T-shirt and yoga pants. Hot, right?

My boyfriend is a saint for putting up with all of this. I think I am going to do something about these eyebrows before they sprout legs. After all, I am leaving the house today for a urinalysis. Gotta look good for the folks at the lab.

This is as, steroids are utilized in the medical field to treat complications as an example certain types of cancer and acne for the surgical patients. Egan remarked that subpoenas should not be used as fishing expeditions, while quashing the subpoena.

The Yankees camp was all jubilant after this judgment and relief was greater after the Yankees camp saw a dip in morale after two of their star performers, Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz, were earlier linked to steroid use.

From TimesUnion.com:

Egan said Brodsky raised a good point about the need to examine taxpayer-funded stadium construction, but, the judge noted, the Yankees did not invent the practice.

Requiring the Yankees to pack up every last document relating to the construction of the new stadium, amounting to hundreds of thousands of pages, load them literally into a tractor trailor and deliver them to the Legislature is neither reasonable nor productive of this goal.”

The Yankees cheered Egan’s ruling.

In a statement issued moment after the ruling was released, the team’s lawyers, Jonathan Schiller and George Carpinello said:

“The baseball season is now in full swing and millions of fans have already enjoyed the new Yankee Stadium. It is time to move on.”

“In terms of the Decision this morning, and Mr. Brodsky’s subpoena in particular, the Court found that ‘the Yankees have made a good faith effort to comply with the Subpoena, culling through and producing a great deal of documents for inspection.’”

Justice Egan said though the Assembly’s Committee on Corporations, Authorities, and Commissions has a legal authority to issue the subpoena in question, the request to access stadium documents was “too broad”.

Many individuals for their own physical body changes use steroids. They’re after harmonizing their bodies and ensuring that they have the best muscle mass and massive biceps and fit, in terms of health. It’s the reason we have so many iron pumpers using steroids and liking it. You can’t blame all users of anabolic androgenic steroids, generally because they work best and suggest little harmful effects when used sensibly and intelligibly.
The 2 often revered effects of steroids include the bulking up of muscle mass as well as a maximization of the strength of the user. This is the desire of each and every steroid user. It forms the sort of effects, which have made the use of steroids to be so popular in the world of weightlifting, and weight lifters. Many studies on these steroids have outlined some raised types of worse cholesterol or LDL, increase in pressure of blood and emergence of acute acne. This is merely a minute representation of lots of unfavourable effects, which the steroids could bring around. It is from these steroids found in the body that we have manmade derivatives of the same, which basically have been the steroids of today, illegal to sell and use except with a doctor’s prescription. These artificial derivatives of estrogen are the ones, which signify the modern steroids ; since they’re manmade all of the steroids could bring about detrimental effects as well as some of the most permanent and long term effects once they’ve been taken for an extended period or even in huge doses.

Steroids are vital in the body. It is one of those facts that we cannot argue about. The fact is that when taken in some amounts they might be really problematic and perilous. From the onset, they’re taken for their action-oriented effects, which include muscle building, and enlarging of strength and harnessing ones power, amid having other scores of functions also similarly critical. But these are mostly manmade steroids, while the body is understood to be always in the act of manufacturing its own amounts of steroids for its varied functions.
Anabolic steroids happen to be converted into estrogen through the aromatization of enzymes. This has been the main cause of more major detrimental effects, which are experienced by steroidal users, and hard-core abusers of the same. They have made a part of what we call anabolic androgen steroids, the commodity usually found in the black market since its turn out and many regimes ban ferrying.

If you’re a body-builder you have to know that though taking steroids will make you achieve fast muscle development, you may also experience various side-effects as well like ; shrinking of the testicles, low sperm count, decreased libido, enlargement of the clitoris, disruption of the menses, expansion of breast in males, expansion of facial hair in females, acne, sleeplessness, depression, increased rage, kidney Problems, liver Problems, and heart conditions. There is a need for users to be educated on the possible harm steroid use could cause if they continue to use this substance so as to achieve muscle building success. The employment of steroids for non-medical purposes is mostly proscribed in numerous states. If you take steroids thus you might finish up paying wide fines or maybe go to jail. This is as the use of steroids has been known to make an individual achieve bigger and faster muscle development compared to a person who is training naturally. Since the use of steroids is illegal in order to buy them you have to go to the backstreets which can be very dangerous often due to counterfeit products which are generally unacceptable. There is no registered physician or pharmacist who will agree to distribute these products as it could mean losing his or her license. Steroids have also been excluded from assorted sports and sportsmen need to be tested from time to time to determine whether or not they are juicing up to enhance there performance. If you’re caught using steroids it may mean the end of your athletic career.

If you are not aware what steroids are then this newsletter will be of major use to you. Steroids are synthetic proteins which are made to have a resemblance to the male sex hormone specifically testosterone. They fall under two groups, which are corticosteroids and androgenic steroids respectively. Corticosteroids are legal in most states since they do not pose any potential threat to someone’s health. Many athletes on the other hand use anabolic steroids in the enhancement of athletic performance. That is the main reason why bodybuilders take anabolic steroids.
The counseled age when you should start taking steroids is when you are over 25 years of age. This is because your body is mostly able to produce adequate amounts of testosterone when you’re under age 25 years. When you use steroids and yet your body is in a position to produce a lot of testosterone you’re going to experience hormonal disequilibrium. This in turn will make you experience very many side-effects.

Thanksgiving has come and gone and I missed my opportunity to tell all of you how thankful I am for

Thanksgiving has come and gone and I missed my opportunity to tell all of you how thankful I am for my husband, kids, Starbucks, and all of that other stuff. If you’ve read my blog for any length of time you could probably fill in the blanks. Maybe next year I will do a better job of preparing an appropriate Thanksgiving Day post. So, instead I will share with you a story of our past few days.

It all started on Tuesday when both of the kids woke up sneezing, with runny noses. Without a single warning they both had colds. It was a real bummer because neither of the kids have been sick in a VERY long time, and they sure picked a rotten time to get sick. I did my best to just let them rest, in hopes that their colds would magically come and go in just 1 day. A girl can dream, right?

Anthony’s cold didn’t really seem to be developing into anything, but Madeline woke up on Wednesday morning with a full blown cold. She had the runny nose with sneezing that was accompanied by this loud sound at the end. Very dramatic! I realized that there was no way I could send her to preschool that morning, which made me sad because they were having a special Thanksgiving party. I asked Madeline if she was too sick to go to preschool and she said “yes” which gives you an idea of just how sick she was! If this girl was turning down the opportunity to go to preschool, then I knew she really didn’t feel good. It turns out that I was more bummed about her missing her special day at preschool than she was. Imagine that!

Anyway, we spent the day at home again trying to rest so that the kids would both be healthy for Thanksgiving the following day. Anthony was still not acting like he had a cold besides an occasional sneeze. Madeline was also acting like she felt better so I had high hopes about Thanksgiving.

Wednesday night we put the kids to bed and David headed off to a late night soccer game. While he was gone Anthony woke up and I began dealing with him for the next hour until David got home. Anthony’s cold was beginning to get worse. He was much more congested, and not sleeping well because of it. When David got home he wanted to take a shower so he brought Anthony along so that the steam would help clear him out. It seemed to do the trick, and Anthony slept fairly well.

However, when he woke up Thanksgiving morning he was still pretty sick. He sounded really congested when he was trying to breathe, so we decided he shouldn’t go to Thanksgiving. Madeline was doing much better, so she and I made the drive to my aunt’s house.

I was sad that David and Anthony couldn’t make it, but I have to admit it didn’t turn out too bad for me! Madeline is finally at an age where she doesn’t require quite as much supervision and my cousin’s 2 girls did a great job of playing with Madeline and keeping her entertained! I was able to have a couple of glasses of wine, and enjoy some adult conversation. I actually didn’t even sit with Madeline at dinner. She was in a completely different room, and I ate my Thanksgiving meal without a single concern about what Madeline was eating, if she was sitting at the table, etc. It was wonderful!

My parents ended up taking Madeline with them to a hotel where they had planned to spend the next 2 nights. Madeline LOVES to spend nights at the hotel with my parents. They have done it a couple of times with her and she talks about it all the time. They have their special hotel that they stay at, complete with a swimming pool and hot tub! Needless to say Madeline had been talking about their special trip for a long time, so I was very happy that Madeline wasn’t too sick to do that!

I drove home by myself and felt very sad that I could not locate an open Starbucks before I made the drive. I’m not even sure if Starbucks was open last night, but I did happen to drive by 2 of them and they were both closed. At that point I began thinking that I could use an iPhone with that special Starbucks app that had recently been shown to me which could locate the nearest Starbucks, tell me the hours, AND if it had a drive-thru. A tool like that in my hands could be very dangerous, so it’s probably a good thing I’m locked into my cell phone contract for the next year!

I survived my drive sans Starbucks and was home by 10:00 at which point David was getting ready to head out to the farm to go hunting. He told me that Anthony was doing much better, and eventually was on his way. Around midnight Anthony woke up, so I made him a bottle. When I walked into the room Anthony sounded like he was in serious respiratory distress. He was gasping for breath, wheezing, and choking all at the same time. It was scary to see him struggling to breathe, and immediately I thought it was probably croup.

He drank a little of his bottle, which helped him breathe a little easier, and then I put him in his crib so I could go call David. He had just gotten to the farm and I told him that I was freaked out about leaving Anthony in his crib unattended since there was no way for me to know how he was breathing. Plus, I really didn’t want to go to the ER alone if we ended up needing to take him in. So David turned around and came home.

He got back around 2:00 AM and Anthony did okay for the rest of the night. He did wake up once more, and was making some loud sounds in his sleep but overall he didn’t seem too affected by any of it.

This morning I took him in to the doctor and the moment she walked in the room and heard him breathing she said he had croup. The sounds he was making are called “stridor” and his chest was also retracting with each breath. Once again, he was not affected by any of this in the least and did his best to try to tear apart the exam room. While I was talking to the doctor Anthony became fascinated by her black tights and stood next to her touching her legs (with her permission) and rubbing his face against them as well. It was pretty funny!

He was given an oral steroid at the doctor’s office to help reduce the inflammation in his throat, and hopefully give us a better night without any more dramatic episodes! I have noticed his breathing has improved as the day has progressed, and I’m hoping that the steroid and the vaporizer in his room will do the trick.

Thankfully Anthony is a very resilient little man and has not been crabby in the least. He has spent his day like he normally does: trying to get into the toilets, beating his inflatable penguin with his baseball bat, and trying to climb up on the kitchen table. There’s no rest for the weary in this house!

Steroids have been there for long and they have been utilised by generations and passed over to others. There’s a lot of info on steroids, which has been buried and forgotten by the present generation. This information is very relevance and should be adored since it holds the origin and the best guideline of steroid use.
The general use of Gonadal Steroids can be said to pre-date their identification or any sort of isolation. Medical use of the testicle extract can be rated to have begun in the late 19th century and its successive effects on the body’s strength were still under intensive studied. Another consultant then later synthesized the steroid in 1934 by the name Leopold Ruzicka.
In the latter 1930’s it was now known the human testes contained a major and stronger form of androgen than the Aldosterone, and other groups of biological scientists, who were funded by pharmaceutical corporations competing in Netherlands, raced to ensure its isolation. This hormone was identified first by Karoly David, Ernest Laqueur and Dingemanse. They all agreed to name the hormone testosterone, from the combination of terms, testicle and sterol, and including the suffix Ketone. There was a chemical synthesis of the same testosterone, which was achieved in the late August in the same year, when Butenandt published a written paper describing the various methods of testosterone preparation from Cholesterol.
Clinical trials on many humans, involving themselves in oral doses especially Methyltestosterone or other types of injections of the main testosterone propionate, can be rated to have started in the early 1940’s. Testosterone propionate is specially discussed in a written letter to the editor of mag by the name Health magazine in the early 1940’s. Some Weightlifting and other muscle building mags have reported and justified this claim.

There are also reported rumors in the history of world war that, German soldiers used to administer anabolic steroids before war all targeting at increasing their strength, stamina and aggression for them to conquer the enemy. The truth of the matter can’t be well justified, but there’s an element of truth. This information builds your base in knowing the origin of steroids and by understanding the roots moving to the rest of info on use and abuse of the same can follow that lead easily. Ignoring the past about steroids has been one of the major contributors of the present abuse and though this may not be justified it is important to make it white and black all about steroids, from the origin, use and complications of the same.

Maximizing Muscular Contractions And Strength

By John Simms- Master Fitness Trainer and Therapist

In this article I’m going to go over several different ways on how one can increase their muscular strength and lean body mass without the use of androgenic-anabolic steroids or other performance enhancement drugs. However, in order to achieve such goals for the most part I’m going to address how to maximize muscular contractions. Down below in no particular order is a list of ways to help do just that and etc.

1). Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water, but not too much water as it can cause water intoxication.

2). Have a proper electrolyte balance in your body such as sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

3). Take a quality multi vitamin and/or take additional vitamin and mineral supplement such as zinc, selenium, vitamin e and etc.

4). Take a quality creatine supplement.

5). Take a quality choline supplement for proper brain and nerve function.

6). Take aspirin or white willow bark to help increase blood circulation in the entire body.

7). Perform your exercises explosively especially during the concentric “positive” muscular contraction, but don’t sacrifice proper form over injury.

8). Perform heavy controlled negatives focusing on the eccentric muscular contraction using up to 30% more than your 1RM in a power rack. – Use sparingly.

9). Perform isometric or static exercises such as flexing your muscles hard in a mirror and/or perform heavy support holds in a power rack as old time bodybuilder and strongman Chuck Sipes once did. Heavy supports could be used once a weak and go as heavy as your want and use progressive resistance and/or use sparingly and with other advanced techniques.

10). Perform heavy ¼ and ½ repetitions at least once a weak to help strengthen tendons and ligaments using weights heavy than you are accustomed to. You can use this with your full range rep compound movement exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, shoulder presses and etc. Just remember to progress and cycle the weights lifted as with any other workout regimen.

11). Do 3-5 total sets using 1-8 rep range in a work out session. However, use focus your reps within the 3-6 rep range as this helps reduce lactic acid build up and increase muscular strength.

12). Rest at least 3 minutes in between sets.

13). Increase your flexibility with proper stretching, but make sure you do so right after you work out sense stretching can temporarily reduce strength during a work out. – Never stretch a cold muscle, always warm up properly to increase body temperature.

14). Stretch a weaker muscle “to relax it” in order to allow the stronger primary muscles to contract better. For example: stretching the rotator cuff muscles before a heavy bench press attempt. Doing this helps the pectoral muscles contract more effectively.

15). Myofascial Release technique to a given body part to help increase muscle function, flexibility and even nerve function through a competent chiropractor, physical therapist, exercise physiologists, massage therapist and etc.

16). Electro Muscle Stimulation for a given muscle group to help fire as many muscle fibers as possible. Go to a competent physical therapist, exercise physiologist, chiropractor and etc.

17). Therapeutic Ultrasound to help relieve muscle pain and break up adhesions within a given muscle group. Go to a competent doctor, physical therapist, chiropractor, exercise physiologist and etc.

18). Massage Therapy that helps break up adhesions and scar tissue in the given muscle group that primarily focuses on the petrissage and friction strokes as it helps the muscle to function properly. Another massage technique that could possibly be used to help increase performance before a workout or sporting event is the use of tapotement. Go to a competent massage therapist preferably one that knows sports or medical massage.

19). Get a neck and spinal manipulation adjustment done on you to help align the nerve of the vertebrae. Go to a competent chiropractor or an osteopath physician.

20). Get a postural assessment performed on you to see if there’s any muscular imbalances, flexibility or deviation issues. Go to a competent physical therapist, chiropractor, massage therapist preferably one that specializes in sports or medical massage, exercise physiologist and etc.

21). Neuromuscular Therapy to restore proper muscle and nerve function by eliminating stress and trigger points. Go to a competent massage therapist that may special in sports and medical massage, exercise physiologist, chiropractor and etc.

22). Use Aspirin or its herbal alternative White Willow Bark to help increase blood circulation. Garlic can also be used to help with increased blood circulation and is said to even help increase testosterone levels while suppressing cortisol levels.

23). Use Plyometric Training as well as using chains and bands sparingly.

24). Naturally increase testosterone and growth hormone levels through proper training, nutrition, supplementation and etc.

25). Avoid neuro fatigue. Hardly ever train to muscle failure.

26). Get adequate sleep and rest.

27). Live a healthy lifestyle. Avoid recreational drugs, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and etc.

28). Cycle your training. Use different weight poundage and percentages of 1RM.

29). Mimic the sports movement and strengthen all of it muscles that make up that movement.

30.) Strengthen the weaker secondarily and stabilization muscles than just focusing on the primary muscle group used for that particular exercise movement.

30). The use of stimulants such as caffeine before a workout or sporting event. Use sparingly and appropriately do to health, bodyfat composition and possible governing sport’s regulation issues.

31). Rehabilitate or strengthen an injured or traumatized area on the body.

32). Mental visualization, arousing or psyching oneself out before or during a lifting or sporting event.

33). Decompressing the Vertebrae: You could do this yourself by lying back on a fitness ball or foam tube for several minutes a day or before a workout or maximal lift. You may also perform the cat stretch exercise and even lose some weight if you need to.

34). Temporarily perform and focus only on the Olympic Lifts such as the Clean and Jerk or the Clean and Press for explosive and functional strength. Olympic Lifts could be incorporated into your normal weight training routine, but your other sets and exercises must be drastically limited.

35). Other potential enhancers may include training aids such as using special suits, wraps, shoes, smelling inhalants as well as using other forms of alternative therapies or modalities such as acupuncture and etc.

Well there you have it. All sorts of ways to help increase muscle contraction and strength. And for those who are seeking a drug free way to increase muscle mass, make sure you utilize what is said in this article as it helps with that as well. Good luck to you all.

Abstract Steroids are the only proven drugs in the treatment for idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss. In the recent studies, it has been suggested that, steroids delivered through the intratympanic route obtained higher perilymph levels, resulting in better hearing outcomes. The purpose of this study is to compare the hearing outcomes of the two routes of steroid treatment: intratympanic route and systemic route. In this prospective study, 60 consecutive patients with idiopathic sensorineural hearing loss treated between January 2005 and September 2008 were enrolled: 29 were in the intratympanic steroid group (ITSG) and 31 were in the systemic steroid group (SSG). In the ITSG, 5 intratympanic injections of dexamethasone were performed with the dose of 4 mg/ml, consecutively. Oral methylprednisolone was given at the dose of 1 mg/kg, tapered every 2 days and stopped at 10 days, in the SSG. The pure tone averages (PTA), speech discrimination scores (SDS) and the percentage of the patients who made an improvement more than 10 dB were analyzed on the tenth day and 2 months after the treatment statistically. The improvement in PTA on tenth day and second month after treatment was 31.38 and 37.55 dB, in the ITSG and 19.35 and 20.68 dB in the SSG, respectively. The improvement in SDS in the same time period was 35.24 and 37.52% in the ITSG and 20.13 and 19.61% in the SSG, respectively. Also, 25 of the 29 patients (86.2%) in the ITSG and 16 of the 31 patients (51.6%) in the SSG made an improvement more than 10 dB on PTA in the second month control. Intratympanic steroids gave better hearing results than systemic steroids with no systemic side effects. Studies with more sample sizes will identify the best steroid for injection, application time, frequency and dose.

The Steroid in Baseball Perspective of Ethics It has contradiction or dilemma when we discuss about

The Steroid in Baseball

Perspective of Ethics

It has contradiction or dilemma when we discuss about using steroid in our society, especially discuss about using steroid in sports. As we know, since early 1990, using steroid when somebody doing sports, whether he/she a professional or college athletes, is something normal. In that time, the restriction of using steroid didn’t implement yet. And the juror or supervisor at league didn’t give punishment to player who use steroid.

But, nowadays it became serious problem. Especially in baseball. In 1997, Denver Post had released that as many as 20% of big league ballplayers used illegal steroids. And in 1999, the Centers for Disease Control reported that 1 in 27 teenagers had used illegal steroids. And more than 500.000 high school students have tried steroids.

The allegation and revelations about steroid use in baseball have only intensified in recent months. Major League Baseball start ban the steroid since 2002. In the past decade, majority of players think steroid could increasing their achievement. And as we know, the profesional athletes are role models, and their action can lead to tragic imitation. Too many college athletes believe they have to consider steroids if they’re going to make it to professional; high school atheletes think steroid might be the key to getting a scholarship. It’s time to break that cycle.

But, actually why baseball owner and the player unions turned a blind eye to the clear evidence of steroid use in baseball? Because it sold tickets and resurrected a game that had recently suffered a black eye from a player strike.
