It might seem like we plug Steve Angellos tracks a bit too much at the moment, but its purely coincidental. And he is producing a lot of great songs at the moment, so here they are -

Steve Angello – Rolling (Original Mix) Acid/Tech/House. A really nice build – up track with some great hi – hats and a nice bassline. Keeps on building until 3.09 in to the song and then comes the real kick! Sounds a lot like “Steve Angello – Teasing Mr. Charlie” from 2006 (I think it was 2006).

Steve Angello – Monday (Original Mix) House. Incredible song! I think its named after Swedish House Mafias residency at Pacha, Ibiza, this summer, which took place on Monday nights. Really good feel to it and a nice “guitar – sound” running through it and with a big break in the track. Really recommend this one!

We got a nice live set from the reps of Hardwell, a really talented Dj/Producer from Holland, and as a bonus his bootleg of Dirty South vs Funkerman – Speed Alamo Up (Hardwell Bootleg). So thank you very much! And here it is -

I New York i januari gav Steve Angello ett nyårslöfte om att sluta festa och ge sig tillbaka till studion. Nu elva månader senare kan vi konstatera att han höll sitt löfte.

“2009 one of the best years of my life”. Steve Angello.

Steve Angello needs little introduction. Most people will be aware that he is 33.3% of the Swedish House Mafia – the in your face and in demand elite collective of Sweden’s house music bad boys; Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso. Perhaps less well known is the fact that he is also the chief A&R and level headed label boss of his own record label SIZE, which has gained much Kudos recently.

He would be the first to agree that 2009 was his own self-proclaimed ‘year for music’. From the start he wanted to concentrate his efforts on creating good clubs tracks, and from the results you can see he did exactly as he promised. Make no mistake; 2009 has been Steve Angello’s year.

And what a year it has been, starting with a move to L.A everything he has done since has been big. News of his work travelled fast, and he was even invited to remix Britney and Madonna, choosing to turn them down in favour of working on his own productions. It’s not surprising; he is a self-confessed workaholic, focusing on creating and refining his own tracks, stating ‘I do not want to be known solely as the remixer’.

The first part of his year was spent touring Brazil, The US and playing to 300,000 people in seven days in Australia. Later in the year his summer was spent in Ibiza promoting the hugely successful Monday nights at Pacha with fellow Swedish DJ partners Sebastion Ingrosso and Axwell, an event that succeeded in exponentially increasing his profile around the world.

Things really started to heat up in Miami where the debut of his most successful remix to date landed with an almighty boom. This was the debut of Robin S ’Show Me Love’ remixed with long term friend and fellow international DJ Laidback Luke. A record that was to balloon in size to gigantic proportions, almost to the point of being out of control.  It repeatedly replicated the same crowd pleasing, hands in the air mega reaction where ever it was played, smashing the charts internationally and further pushing Steve Angello as world renowned DJ.

“It’s a huge track as we all know,” says Steve Angello. “It’s just one of those tracks. It’s done a lot of good stuff for me so I do a new bootleg of it every six months. The best thing about it is everywhere I go, it’s the one track that everyone wants to hear. I may have played it 60,000 times but people still want to hear it!”

It did not stop there The follow up was equally as powerful as Angello, Axwell, Ingrosso and Laidback Luke proceeded with ‘Leave The World Behind’, another track that was instantly picked up by clubbers and DJ’s alike. Reaching No.1 in the Beatport charts, it became their best selling record for the first half of 2009. The tune deserved all the hype that surrounded it, considered by many as a perfect house track.

Angello felt that an album was needed to celebrate the year. The result was The Year Book 2009, an album that brings together all of his own big club moments from this year. This album is a collection of tracks that showcases his wide production range, from vocal house and trance to tougher techno.

From the crazy horns of the Ibizan inspired track ‘Flonko’ to the epic trancey driving sound of ‘Monday’. Incidentally this is the track that is lined up as his long awaited single and which already has its own substantial Facebook group whose members have sworn not to shave until the track is released on the 18^th November.

Another major highlight includes ‘Tivoli’ a peak timer that builds and flexes into a plethora of synths and white noise. Most of these tracks are engineered for explosive euphoric moments.

This is an album primarily aimed at providing ammunition for the peak time DJ, but also provides a contemporary soundtrack for clubbers and dance music lovers everywhere.

Man måste väl ändå säga att vår svenska mega-DJ, Steve Angello har haft ett grymt år. Otroligt många sköna släpp, speciellt nu på slutet. Aaaaah my favorite German electronic artists. WHy oh WHYYY aren’t they more well known. It makes me angry. Yet at the same time I’m happy that I have them all to myself…well and a few others. They’ve already released two albums, Happy Birthday and Hello Mom which are ridiculously amazing and seriously unrecognized. They are amazing live. I can’t wait to hear a new album, which is hopefully in the works?

06 Moderat – A New Error

Modeselektor + Apparat. In case you didn’t know. Two huge German powerhouse electronic artists come together and made easily one of the best albums this year, self-titled Moderat. Electronic music, though rising, is continually under-represented! Errrrrbody is all up Indie’s ass with the St. Vincent, Dirty Projectors, and Animal Collective. Sure these albums are great (they really are). But electronic music in the decades and end of year lists are seriously on the back burner. Shit. Moderat is easily in the tops in the decade and end of year for me.

Fransosen Norman Doray har släppt en verklig bomb som jag diggar stenhårt, släppt på Cr2 Records! Om det varit sköna vocals på låten hade det troligtvis varit en 5a i betyg… 4/5 toasts

Polaren till Eric Prydz, nämligen Henrik B, har gjort en ny progressiv dänga, precis så bra som dem alltid är när han producerar låtar! Synd att den läckte så tidigt, gillar egentligen inte att lägga upp låtar som inte släppts än… 4/5

Steve Angello – Monday (Mescal Kid Vocal Edit) 320HQ [Not.Released.On.Beatport.Yet] // Progressive House
House-intresserade kan absolut inte ha missat Steve Angellos senaste släpp Monday… Enligt mig en av hans bättre låtar han producerat själv, och det finns ett flertal bra remixer på den. Den bästa är dock den han själv gjort en remix på under hans alias Mescal Kid med vocals. Klar 5a!

EDIT: Efter att ha hört runt en del så är denna låt en remake på den han själv spelat under sommaren/hösten. Det är helt enkelt Steve Angello – Monday (Original Mix) w/ (med) acapellan från Julie McKnight – Finally… Den kommer enligt Steve själv släppas som Steve Angello – Monday (Mescal Kid Vocal Edit), men den som ligger ute på nätet nu, och den som jag länkat är en remake av en “okänd” person. Oavsett, låten är sjukt bra, och jag lovar att lägga upp den officiella versionen när den släpps! Håll till godo bara! 3/5 toasts

Sebastien Drums & Avicii – Pastis (Original Mix) 320HQ [Not.Released.On.Beatport.Yet] // Progressive House
Som flera gånger tidigare har Drums & Avicii tillsammans producerat ytterligare ett mästerverk, Pastis! Jag kan inte riktigt sätta fingrarna på vart vocalsen kommer, men jag känner igen texten… Bra som satan är den iaf! Läckte för någon vecka sen… 5/5 toasts

Dabruck & Klein feat. Michael Feiner – The Feeling (Tocadisco Remix) 320HQ [Not.Released.On.Beatport.Yet] // Progressive House
Det här är den låten som jag spelar allra mest just nu, jag kan inte få nog av Tocadisco’s untz untz remix med vocals av svensken Michael Feiner, passar så satans bra ihop! Denna måste ni ha! 5/5 toasts

Dinka – Elements (Original Mix) och Dinka – Never Cheat On Strangers (Original Mix) 320HQ [HR013X] 2009-11-05 Sample! // Progressive House
Chris Reece har under sitt alias Dinka gjort en ny låt kallad Elements, grym! Precis lika hög stil och klass som vanligt, denna ska ni ha! Med på samma EP, som släppts på skivbolaget Unreleased Digital, är också låten “Never Cheat On Strangers”, vilket också är sjukt bra! 4/5 toasts

Jag ser verkligen fram emot Eric Prydz album som kommer snart, enligt han själv är den snart helt färdigställd för att släppas! Kanske kommer den till Jul? Det vore grymt i så fall!
