Voglio dire, il volto è un chiaro, preciso rettangolo, quasi si scorgono pure i 4 angoli da 90 gradi, ed anche il corpo forma un secondo rettangolo…Rettangolo man

Cosa avrà mai di tanto affascinante/tenebroso/macho?

DI sicuro in gioventù magari i lineamenti erano più dolci, ma ora ragazzi NUN SE PO’ GUARDA’!

Ricordo che qualche anno fa mia madre prese la fissa per i suoi film, e mi è capitato di vederne alcuni con lei in passato, ricordo addirittura che di uno mi colpì il finale perchè non era il solito lieto fine come diciamo qua a Napoli “Taralluccio e Vino”, ma c’era addirittura la morte di un suo “amico” come scena finale, e dissi: “cazzo, se addirittura Steven Segal mi può sorprendere allora sono fottuta!”…

Ma proprio stasera guardando facendo zapping un altro dei suoi film, o meglio, delle scene alla rinfusa piene di sparatorie senza senso e piene di non-suspence visto che lui sembra essere indistruttibile, più riflessivo, attento, veloce, caparbio, incredibile di tutti i suoi avversari, mi sono resa conto di quanto effettivamente sia birettangolare!

Ma ci sarà ancora qualcuno che guarda imperterrito i suoi film? O_o

“Hang on… OK it’s a woman. Phew! For one second I thought that was an old man with a pony-Oh my god, it is! It’s a dude! … Jesus Christ that’s nauseating…”

“Shit, he’s coming this way! He’s coming, he’s coming, he’s coming! (pause) … Oh my god, what if it touches me?! …”

“OK, he’s gone… And I think I’ve just been sick in my mouth.”

I saw a lot of this at the Hair show this evening and although it’s quite possibly (and i should probably say most certainly) is an undeviating manifestation of their gay/flamboyant eccentric tendencies personalities, it’s still a bad move. Kinda like when parents let their 8, 9 and 10 year old daughters dress like sluts, old ladies who wear their glasses with those funky strings attached that either have tons of tawdry beads or fake diamonds, or people with tattoos on their hands.

Está acontecendo American Film Market, a feira é conhecida por divulgar novidades da indústria cinematográfica. A primeira delas é o cartaz do filme Machete, novo filme de Robert Rodriguez, na imagem Jessica Alba aparece fazendo o velho papel de  garota sensual. Veja a imagem abaixo:

A ideia do filme surgiu a partir do trailer falso lançado junto com Grind House (que juntava os dois bons filmes Death Proof de Quentin Tarantino e Planeta Terror de Rodriguez) que infelizmente no Brasil não recebeu nenhuma atenção. O trailer agradou tanto que Rodriguez resolveu fazer um longa-metragem da história escrita por ele sobre o personagem que dá nome ao filme, Machete.

Na trama Danny Trejo, vive Machete um ex-agente federal que depois ser traído pelo chefe do tráfico Torrez (Steven Segal), aceita fazer um trabalho para Benz (Jeff Fahley), um relações públicas que vive de limpar a carreira de políticos sujos, o trabalho consiste em matar o senador corrupto McLaughlin (Robert De Niro).

No meio de toda essa enrrascada Manchete é ajudado por uma cozinheira de tacos chamada Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), seu irmão Padre (Cheech Marin) e da estranha patricinha April (Lindsay Lohan).

Com direção da dupla Robert Rodrigues e Ethan Maniquis, Machete estréia em 2010.

A young quartet of gangsters with Christian Slater and Patrick Dempsey, only in the film world can this happen.

The film focuses primarily on Luciano and Lansky as they rise from petty criminals and bootleggers to push aside the old guard of the Mafia and eventually establish The Commission, which set up the New York Mafia into five separate families. Bugsy Siegel (Richard Grieco) and Frank Costello (Costas Mandylor) control the physical elements of the operation, while Lucky Luciano (Christian Slater) and Meyer Lansky (Patrick Dempsey) bring up the business end.

This is basically every mafia movie cliche that you have ever seen in one film. There are obvious scenes that are just total rip-offs from The Godfather and Scarface, that after awhile I was just bored and would rather watch paint dry.

The historical inaccuracy of this movie is an insult. I don’t mind movies changing history for dramatic purposes when they are well-made. The movie doesn’t just embellish facts; it completely makes them up. Almost none of the events are portrayed as they actually happened, but even this would have been forgivable if the reinvented events were remotely plausible. Instead you get these fantastical “hero saves the day” action sequences that you would expect to see in a Steven Segal film. And for some inexplicable reason the movie changes the name of the famous gangster Maranzano to Faranzano, despite the fact that every other character’s name is accurate.

I didn’t quite care for these mobsters especially after the first 20 minutes where the film starts to glamorize the life of a mobster. In Goodfellas, at times they glamorized but also showed effects of being a mob member and there not pretty. In Mobsters they kill normal innocent people and were supposed to like them?

The plot is so complicated, that in order to kill this guy we have to get his trust and in order to get his trust we have to fake trying to kill him and if we protect him long enough we can kill him. This also goes basically throughout the whole film.

If there is any good thing about this film is that has to be Christian Slater who is very convincing in his role, and although he has a horrible script to play with he still tries to make the best of it, and does a fine job.

Consensus: The film felt more like a parody with a horrible script, obvious inaccuracies, and cliches beyond belief. A Mobster film for a younger audience but even they may find it boring.

In a very familiar scene and situation the wooden Steven Segal explains to his unwilling sidekick that his main concern in his attempts at freeing the train from terrorists is the hostages’ safety and wellbeing. However, Segal’s initial act of defiance (he fails to surrender) causes the brutal death of three chefs (who appear to be his friends). Segal’s reckless and violent individualism causes three innocent lives – something his attempt tried to save – to be wasted brutally. One could easily argue that the utility (forthcoming happiness) which arises out of his action is eventually beneficial because it enables him to stop the entire train – it robs the terrorist of the deadly weapon. However, it is also as easily argued that Segal’s brand of reckless egoism and self-survival causes the destruction of innocent lives at a comparable rate. The very same expertise and egoism which Segal’s character displays can also be found in his antithesis “Travis Dane”. Dane is a former weapons designer whose technology was utilized by the American Government – without the credit being given to Dane. Although Dane is clearly “evil” in his goal to be rich and powerful – breaking all manner of invisible codes of conduct – his actions display the same reckless individualism as Segal. Both characters use whatever means possible to achieve their end, and the only difference being that at the end of the film Segal wins. This contradiction is common in the action genre however it is often overlooked that both good and evil employ an ethics of “anything goes” because of the cathartic effect of violence metered out upon the evil characters. The ethical stance found within this film and the traditional action genre is interesting and seems to employ a Utilitarian understanding of right and wrong. I will write further upon this issue in the coming year.

Sinceramente nåo gosto desse tipo de notícia, porque as fotos não trazem nenhum detalhe importante para a trama, mas resolvi publicar porque fiquei chocado ao ver o corpo da jovem atriz, agora loira e extremamente magra. Aonde foi parar a beleza de Lindsay Lohan?

The forthcoming Robert Rodriuguez movie “Machete” (based on the fake trailer of the same name from “Grindhouse”) has been getting us here at WANARB hot under the collar since we first heard about it! And now that the official Cast has been confirmed we’re even more excited! Danny Trejo is returning as the title character and Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal, Lindsey Lohan, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson and Jeff Fahey star in supporting roles.

This is very good news indeed! Robert De Niro and Steven Segal? In the same movie! WTF? When would that ever happen unless it was for a film such as this?

Although having an extensive career since 1985 as a Hollywood hard man this will be Trejo’s first time as a Title Character, and my god does the man deserve it! The film has Badass written all over it… Infact i’m pretty sure if you looked up Badass in the dictionary it would say “Danny Trejo”. Apparently shooting has already begun and we can expect to see “Machete” hitting cinemas some time next year. I think it’s safe to assume we’ll be seeing a lot more of this movie over the coming months but until then i’ll leave you with the original “Grindhouse” trailer from 2006

Depois de muitos e alguns absurdos rumores, foi confirmado o elenco principal de Machete, novo filme de Robert Rodriguez. A ideia do filme surgiu a partir do trailer falso lançado junto com Grind House (que juntava os dois bons filmes Death Proof de Quentin Tarantino e Planeta Terror de Rodriguez) que infelizmente no Brasil não recebeu nenhuma atenção.

Sul tappeto rosso steso in piazza Matteotti sfileranno, dopo essere scesi dalle immancabili limousine, i sosia di Luciano Pavarotti, Orietta Berti, Riccardo Cocciante, Fiorello, Platinette, Antonio Banderas, Hugh Laurie alias Dottor House, Sean Connery, Richard Gere, Gerry Scotti, Zucchero, Mina, Frank Sinatra, Vasco Rossi, Eddie Murphy, Steven Segal, Gianna Nannini, Adriano Celentano, Claudio Baglioni, Madonna, Francesco Totti, Little Tony, Mister Bean e tanti altri. Occhio di bue, fotografi e cineoperatori immortaleranno l’arrivo dei sosia come se fossero i veri divi della Notte degli Oscar di Los Angeles. Presenterà la serata Miranda Liz, sosia italiana di Liz Taylor, ideatrice di questa manifestazione. Ad accompagnarla il sosia di Gerry Scotti.

The rock gods have spoken, and Tony Smokes and The Ladykillers must cease to exist as a band. The decision for this amicable split was not made lightly, but it was made for the good of Dylan Martin and Ally Falconer, who are leaving to pursue other, non-musical endeavors. Meanwhile, in the garage dungeon, Owen Keiter and Kegan Zema will continue their no-frills brand of accessible, yet uncompromising rock and roll under the name The Motor Kicks (including Ally until the end of the summer).

These past two years have bestowed many great experiences for the band, including a full-length album that was released in Bull Moose Music and given favorable reviews, successful gigs, new friends and fans, and a solid collection of rock ‘n’ roll tunes.

The time for Tony Smokes is not quite over yet, however….

We invite you to the final Tony Smokes and The Ladykillers show. The show will take place at 9pm, Saturday, July 25^th at She Doesn’t Like Guthries in Lewiston, Maine, alongside Honey Clouds, and it will be free and all-ages. We’ve got our biggest, craziest set ever set up for you guys, featuring a lot of surprises. We hope you can make it out to L/A to rock out with us for one more time. We promise that faces will be melted and there will be blood.

Other info:

• Operator will continue in all its glory, with all four of us posting. In fact, we plan on diversifying the sort of posts we’ll be putting up (multimedia posts, probably hosting it soon). It will just be a stand-alone unit, as opposed to a Band Blog.

• The CD will remain available in stores and from us for $6 as long as there’s still demand.

• Keep an eye out for a last, parting gift from us. It’ll be put up on Operator and we promise it’ll be extremely badass.

• We’ll also be trying to have our first show as The Motor Kicks by the end of the summer, so keep an eye out for that.

Lastly, we just want to thank all of you for being so rad over the past couple of years. We’ve had a great time, and feeling the love from all of you guys was a huge part of that. We hope that you’ll continue to dig us in our continued adventures as The Motor Kicks etc, and stay in touch via Operator.

Olha, eu preciso que vocês assistam Rock’n Rolla!
Gente, eu sou bem chatinho com filmes que envolvem um certo nível de ação e violência, até mesmo porquê o ”Domingo Maior” me traumatizou profundamente, com todos aqueles filmes terríves com Steven Segal, Jean Claude Van Dame e Jackie Chan.
Mas depois que eu assisti Pulp Fiction, minha vida mudou…Tanto que passei a ler sinopses de filmes com capas que só remetiam a cenas de tiros e pancadaria, para ver o que eu poderia tirar alguma história ou algo de bom dali.
Mas sabe de uma coisa, descobri que adooooro filmes de violência e de total desprezo,sarcasmo e irônia com a condição humana…
E dia desses, passando pela locadora pra poder escolher filminhos para uma das minhas sessões de total reclusão sozinho em casa enquanto o pessoal daqui de casa viajava para o mato, resolvi apostar minhas fichas em Rock’n Rolla.
Bem, o filme tem a direção de Guy Richie, e quem me lê ou conhece, já deve ter percebido que eu adoro Madonna e por isso somou-se além da intenção de assistir mas também de analisar um pouco do trabalho do inglês. Curiosidade de fã…
Mas tá…o filme é foda (o blog é me e eu posso falar palavrão, né?!)!

Um bando de anti-heróis que assumem suas mediocridades,erros, fraquezas, desonestidades e defeitos, que nos fazem gostar deles e torcer pra que o errado dê certo!
Aliás…Adoro anti-heróis!
E se fossemos um pouco mais verdadeiros com nós mesmos, torceriamos sempre pra eles…Os mocinhos e mocinhas são tão boring! Ããããããã! ó.o
Bem, do trabalho do Richie eu só conhecia mesmo ”Sweet Away”, um filme que ele dirigiu com a Madonna, assim que eles casaram praticamente e que é uma bosta!
Mas analisando pela minha pouca experiência…Guy Richie faz filme pra macho! Do tipo que ouve Matanza, bebe cerveja quente, come churrascão sangrando e tudo mais…
Tanto que os personagens masculinos deles, são totalmente masculinos mesmo! Um pouco sensíveis…mas sem muita frescura, tipo um bando de fodões.
Embora o tema (gangsters) seja um pouco batido, achei bacana a forma com que contruiram a história. Além disso, o elenco conta com Gerard Butler, Tom Wilkinson, Nonso Anozie, Charlotte Armer e Gemma Arterton. Como também a trilha sonora super bacanuda composta por músicas que passeiam pelo indie rock, ska e reggae dos anos 80.
No final, acho que muitos ficam com a vontade de ter uma vida como a dos caras do filme…Eu mesmo gostaria de levar um life style mais rock’roll…mais rock’nrolla.
