THe superdelegate thing is weird and typifies a fascist system, and this guy is contradicting that with a super-capitalist method of basically buying votes for a candidate, which is certainly anti-democratic if not some sort of strange aristocracy. This is a bizarre time we live in for sure:

Superdelegate Steven Ybarra finally reveals the truth of the superdelegate wooing. Ybarra demands, that’s right DEMANDS, a promise of $20 million for a Mexican-American voter registration program from either Senator Obama or Senator Clinton in exchange for his superdelegate vote.

Really, Mr. McGovern is that how you envisioned this process: the exchange of pork for delegate votes? What other promises have been made? What other pork barrel pet projects have been demanded? The taxpayers should know what it is we are buying and for whom! Our tax money should not BUY the nomination or election for ANY candidate.

Through this example, the Democrat party shows itself as nothing less than the smoky backroom politics of old! You should all be ashamed. In an election where you both promote change, the delegates for which you battle cause a reversion or back-slide to the Politics of old. And YOUR PARTY embraces this behavior.

Senator Clinton? Senator Obama? Do you embrace this behavior? What have you agreed for the public to pay for as a pay off for superdelegates?

A California Democratic superdelegate who the New York Post dubbed a “super Latino” says his choice between Clinton or Obama rests on whoever “shows him the money.” $20 million, specifically, in “an ironclad promise to spend that heady amount to register Mexican-American voters and get them to the polls in November.” [from the Associated Press via MyWayNews]

Steven Ybarra of the DNC Hispanic Caucus also made news in February for sending a email criticizing the Clinton campaign for removing Patti Solis Doyle, a Latina, as campaign manager, saying the decision was “disloyal to Hispanics” and “dumb as a stump.” [New York Post]

Did Hillary just give more reasons for Hispanic voters to say “Sí, Se Puede!” to team Ob

Did Hillary just give more reasons for Hispanic voters to say “Sí, Se Puede!” to team Obama?

It appears that yesterday’s big move by the Clinton campaign – replacing former campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle with current campaign manager Maggie Williams has alienated a leader within the DNC’s Hispanic community – Superdelegate Steven Ybarra, a California superdelegate who heads the voting-rights committee of the DNC Hispanic Caucus.

The e-mail noted that Clinton, who is looking to Latino voters for a boost in the Texas and Ohio primaries on March 4, scored heavily with Hispanics in her California win.

“Apparently, loyalty is not a two-way street,” he wrote. “Latino superdelegates like myself . . . will have cause to pause.”

Ybarra told The Post yesterday that the loss of Solis Doyle, a child of Mexican immigrants, just weeks before the Texas primary, where 36 percent of the population is Hispanic, was “dumb as a stump.” Of course, Ybarra probably doesn’t know that Hillary still intends to bring Solis Doyle along as an adviser (i.e. Clinton-friendly Hispanic face/voice).

Read article here: Super Latino Slams Clinton

Steven Ybarra is a retired civil rights attorney who operates a consultant company in California. He is a member of the Democratic National Committee and a long time political activist. SOURCE.

Then again… according to Hillary, he wouldn’t know what his people want anyway. As she said yesterday in Maryland, “activists don’t represent the electorate. We know that”.
