There are some paintings I keep (hoard) for a long time because I'm just not ready to let them go. Actually, I feel that way about most of them, but after I've lived with them awhile, I'm ready to let them out into the world. This painting of an antique poster bed has stayed with me a long, long time but the need to make room for the new caused me to show it at last. I saw it this weekend, recently purchased by a collector and framed in a lovely floating walnut frame. The simplicity of the spare museum framing brought out the loose, light quality of the painting. It's good when a painting finds the right owner.
