<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Akhirnya kemarin sore datang juga efek gitar pesananku setelah menunggu selama 3 hari dengan perasaan tak menentu <em>(*hayah*)</em>. Efek ini berjejuluk <b>Japier Screaming</b> yang merupakan clone dari amplifier ternama dari Ibanez, yaitu Ibanez Tube Screamer (TS808). Secara fisik, efek buatan <a href="http://fatmac99.blogspot.com/">FatMac</a> ini sedikit lebih besar dari yang kubayangkan. Ya, dimensinya lebih besar dari pada pedal efek <em>(stompbox)</em> buatan pabrik. Tepatnya berdimensi 12cm &#215; 8cm &#215; 5cm. Dan rupanya box berukuran besar ini sudah menjadi standar dari efek-efek produksi Fatmac.</p>

<p>Lalu bagaimana dengan suaranya? Benar juga seperti kata teman-teman dan juga Arif Dwiarmawan (sang produsen Fatmac) sendiri, yaitu bahwa efek ini lebih cocok untuk jenis musik blues. Ada seorang teman yang tanya mengapa aku membeli Japier Screaming ini padahal gitaranku metal? Lalu kujawab saja, <em>&#8220;apa pun alatnya, mainnya tetap metal.&#8221;</em> Hehehe&#8230;</p>
<p><!--more-->Saat dicoba di rumah, ternyata memang karakternya nge-blues banget dan memiliki karakteristik amplifier tabung terkenal buatan Ibanez TS808. Saat knop Gain &#38; Tone diset ke posisi penuh pun demikian. Rupanya lebih cenderung ke suara Overdrive tabung. Tentunya tidak seperti suara Overdrive-nya musik heavy metal yang cenderung lebih rame dan nyelekit.</p>
<p>Tapi yang patut diacungi jempol adalah karena efek ini termasuk <em>low noise</em> dan tidak ada <em>hum</em>. Artinya efek ini dibuat dengan pengkabelan <em>(wiring)</em> yang baik dan dibuat dengan komponen yg baik pula.</p>
<p>Sayangnya efek ini tidak dibekali dengan soket baterai seperti efek gitar pada umumnya. Berarti efek ini hanya mengandalkan supply dayanya dari adaptor. <del>Sayangnya lagi polaritasnya berbeda dengan efek pada umumnya.</del> <em><b>(Koreksi dari Mas Arif Fatmac (17/10/2009), yaitu bahwa polaritasnya sudah sama dengan efek-efek pada umumnya)</b></em> Untungnya daku menggunakan adaptor universal yang bisa dibalik polaritasnya.</p>
<p>Secara keseluruhan, efek ini layak untuk dimiliki, terutama bagi yang suka bermain musik blues. Apalagi harganya tidak mahal, hanya Rp. 180.000. Tambahkan ongkos kirim sebesar Rp 15.000 untuk kota-kota di pulau Jawa. Sedangkan di luar P. Jawa ongkos kirimnya Rp. 25.000. <p>Oh iya, daku belum sempet membuat video demo atau review atau sound check dari efek ini. Maklum, daku harus nyari lagu blues untuk dimainkan. Tentu saja yang gampang-gampang, soalnya daku kan sedang belajar main gitar. Tapi kok ya ternyata main blues itu sulit juga. Hehehe&#8230;</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Mau belajar atau main gitar? Rupanya berbekal gitar elektrik saja tidak cukup. Soalnya gitar elektrik berbeda dengan gitar akustik. Kalau gitar akustik sudah mampu menyuarakan dirinya ketika dimainkan berkat bagian akustiknya. Sedangkan gitar elektrik membutuhkan alat-alat elektronika lain untuk bersuara.</p>
<p><img src="http://dewo.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/music_corner.jpg?w=224&#38;h=300" align="right" />Bagi gitaris pemula kayak daku <em>(*ehm&#8230; sebenarnya tidak pemula lagi sih, tapi karatan, hehehe&#8230;*)</em>, sebenarnya untuk memainkan gitar elektrik ini cukup dibantu oleh amplifier gitar rumahan yang memiliki daya penguatan suara kecil, misalnya 10 s/d 15 watt. Tidak hanya sebagai penguat suara, amplifier gitar kebanyakan juga sudah dibekali efek tertentu yang memperkaya suara gitar kita. Biasanya secara standard sudah ada efek distortion atau overdrive sehingga kita bisa memainkan jenis musik Rock atau pun Metal.</p>
<p>Namun amplifier rumahan berdaya kecil ini memang hanya untuk bermain di rumah atau di studio kecil. Dan tidak cocok untuk dipakai bermain di panggung, apalagi panggung terbuka. Bisa-bisa suaranya tidak terdengar karena tekalahkan oleh suara riuh sekitar. Hehehe&#8230; </p>
<p>Sayangnya tidak banyak amplifier berdaya besar untuk keperluan panggung yang memiliki efek seperti amplifier rumahan kita. Kalau pun ada, bisa jadi suaranya berbeda karena perbedaan produsen amplifier, sirkuit elektroniknya atau bisa juga pengaruh dari daya penguatan plus kualitas speakernya.</p>
<p>Ini tentu tidak kita inginkan, karena setting suara yang telah kita set di rumah akan sulit kita bawa ke panggung. Sebagai informasi, seringkali kita senang menggunakan karakteristik suara tertentu yang menjadi ciri khas permainan kita atau band kita. Dan itu akan sulit dibawa begitu saja ke atas panggung.</p>

<p>Salah satu cara praktis adalah dengan melepaskan ketergantungan akan setting suara di amplifier. Kalau bisa kita dengan mudah berpindah dari 1 amplifier ke amplifier lain. Untuk itu kita harus sepakat untuk membiarkan bagian amplifier ini apa adanya, dengan setting se-standar mungkin. Fungsinya cuma untuk memperkeras suara gitar kita saja.</p>
<p>Kecuali tentu saja jika kita mau membawa amplifer kita ke panggung. Banyak kok band-band dunia yang membawa sendiri amplifier-nya ke panggung. Tentu amplifiernya juga yang kelas panggung. Hehehe&#8230;</p>
<p>Dan untuk urusan suara gitar yang khas, kita bisa menggunakan efek suara gitar. Biarlah efek gitar ini yang kita setting dan bisa kita bawa dari rumah ke panggung dan ke panggung yang lain. Kita bisa bereksperimen suara di rumah dan ketika sudah sesuai dapat kita bawa ke panggung dengan mudah.</p>
<p>Dewasa ini banyak sekali efek suara portabel yang modern untuk gitar. Dari yang model satuan, atau biasa disebut stompbox, sampai ke yang multi efek berbasiskan sirkuit digital. Bahkan kini banyak efek digital yang berfungsi sebagai modeler suara, alias bisa direkayasa untuk meniru atau memodelkan suatu efek/jenis suara tertentu.</p>
<p>Dulu saat daku nge-band <em>(sekitar tahun 87 s/d 95)</em>, efek-efek seperti ini masih langka. Yang paling populer adalah model stompbox. Itu pun terbatas sekali pilihannya. Sudah begitu mahal banget. Tidak cocok untuk kantong pelajar jadul seperti daku waktu itu. Dulu daku cuma mengandalkan ampli yang build in efek. Dan untuk manggung biasanya minjem efek Boss <a href="http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=130&#38;ParentId=254">Metal Zone</a> atau Boss Metalizer dari studio. Setelah itu baru bisa beli efek second Boss Heavy Metal dari temen yang butuh uang. Hihihi&#8230; dibandingkan Metal Zone jelas Heavy Metal kurang nendang.</p>
<p>Bagaimana dengan sekarang? Wah-wah-wah&#8230; selain sudah semakin canggih juga semakin banyak saja pilihannya. Boss sendiri mengeluarkan <a href="http://www.bossus.com/gear/productlist.php?ParentId=254">sebegitu banyak stompbox berjenis suara distorsi</a>. Baru-baru ini daku dipinjamin Bro Adrian efek <a href="http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=129&#38;ParentId=254">Boss Mega Distortion (MD-2)</a>. Review-nya menyusul yak? Hehehe&#8230;</p>
<p>Belum lagi dari produsen efek yang lain. Tambah ruwet ketika setiap produsen berlomba mengeluarkan beberapa opsi untuk jenis suara distorsi ini saja. Hem&#8230; daku yang kepekaan kupingnya pas-pasan ini seringkali bingung bedanya antara efek distorsi yang satu dengan yg lain. Kayaknya kok sama saja ya? Hehehe&#8230; dasar ngga peka.</p>
<p>Asyiknya adalah karena sekarang efek-efek ini sangat melimpah di pasaran dan harganya relatif terjangkau. Banyaknya produsen yang terjun ke pasar musikus ini membuat setiap produsen berlomba fitur dan tentu saja harga. Sebut saja <a href="http://www.behringer.com">Behringer</a>, <a href="http://line6.com/">Line 6</a>, <a href="http://www.bossus.com/">Boss</a>, Artec, <a href="http://www.fender.com">Fender</a>, dan masih banyak lagi.</p>
<p>Tapi ternyata efek-efek ini seringkali masih dirasa terlalu mahal. Atau bisa saja kita menginginkan efek suara tertentu yang langka yang ternyata harganya sangat mahal. Jangan khawatir karena ternyata sekarang ini beredar efek-efek produksi rumahan yang meniru atau memodelkan efek suara atau amplifier terkenal. Pasti dunia permusikan mengetahui betapa terkenalnya amplifier <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vox_AC30">Vox AC30</a>, <a href="http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/sansamp/gt2.html">SansAmp GT2</a>, dll. Amplifier kelas panggung dunia yang melegenda ini memiliki karakteristik khas dan dibekali efek suara yang sangat powerfull. Rasanya bagaikan impian jika bisa memilikinya.</p>
<p>Namun usah berkecil hati karena kita bisa memodelkan suara amplifier panggung terkenal tersebut berkat efek-efek produksi rumahan. Ada juga sih versi jadi dari produsen efek terkenal, tapi ya itu tadi, harganya mahal. Oke, balik ke produsen efek rumahan, ternyata efek-efek yang dirakit sendiri tersebut tidak kalah bagus suaranya dibandingkan efek-efek pabrikan. Produsen efek rumahan yang bermula dari prinsip DIY <em>(do it yourself)</em> ini telah mampu meng-<em>clone</em> atau memodelkan suara dari efek dan amplifier terkenal dengan harga yang cukup ekonomis. Bahkan seringkali sudah dimodifikasi untuk menghasilkan suara yang lebih kental dan powerfull.</p>
<p>Wah, menarik juga tuh! Nah, mengenai efek-efek produksi rumahan alias DIY ini akan dibahas lebih lanjut di artikel terpisah. Nantikan ya? Hehehe&#8230;</p>

<p>I’m a huge fan of the Eventide TimeFactor and ModFactor pedals, so I was excited when the new PitchFactor arrived for review. I’ve spent the last two weeks working with it, and while I’m now familiar with much of what the pedal can do, I’m still discovering entirely new things every time I plug it in. The HarPeggiator and HarModulator algorithms are particularly deep, especially when using an expression pedal.</p>
<p>Here are short excerpts from a draft of my upcoming review that deal specifically with theDiatonic, HarPeggiator, and HarModulator effects algorithms:</p>

<p>Sebbene sia stata ridotta la taglia, il circuito è stato ampliato, rendendo questa &#8220;bestia&#8221; ancora più aggressiva e caotica, dice la compagnia.</p>
<p>La distorsione spazia dal mellow fino all&#8217;ustionante, dicono. Il  feedback loop è congegnato per &#8220;inspessire il timbro, aggiungendo una tessitura unica al suono, funzionando anche come un synth controllabile.&#8221;</p>

I&#8217;m sure you know that Eventide is among the top manufacturers of effects for many reasons. The sound quality is one of them. They offer such clean effects; you&#8217;d actually wonder if they were on if it weren&#8217;t for the jaw dropping effect hitting your ears. They work with both guitar and bass instruments so this post shall remain uncategorized. It is constructed of rugged steel so it can take all the abuse you can give it and keep on rockin&#8217; with you night after night. Not only is it wickedly awesome as is, but you can actually control it via USB or standard MIDI. You can even upgrade the internal software by connecting it to your computer if you feel it to be necessary. I honestly doubt you will since it is already packed to nearly popping with awesome presets and is unlimited through MIDI.</p>

Apparently somebody told Jim Dunlop that it was time to rethink the way pedals are built and that idea was acted upon in a remarkable way. If you think about it, many guitar effects pedals do exactly what they are supposed to do without fuss but are they versatile? Honestly, I have not seen many pedals as versatile as this with the exception of some very expensive boutique-type pedals. This pedal comes in at just below $180 so you definitely won&#8217;t break the bank to get unequalled tone and versatility.</p>
<p>The features and controls of this box are killer. On the front panel you see the main controls such as Volume, Distortion and tone and I&#8217;m sure you can guess what they do. Below those knobs you also see some smaller controls which effectively control the presence (high frequency response) and the resonance (the low frequency response or tightness). Besides the main controls on the front, there are also some tweak friendly knobs inside the case which are intended to customize the distortion and tone for your individual style preference. Under the hood you find a curve control which affects corner frequencies of the 1st stage of the distortion, Curve which adjusts the gain in the 2nd stage of distortion and the Highs control to modify the high frequencies of the distortion. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Setelah hampir 17 tahun menggeluti dan menekuni dunia pergitaran&#8230;. akhirnya bisa juga menemukan sound yang sesuai dengan karakter gitar&#8230;.. kebetulan di rumah saya mempunyai beberapa gitar yang masing-masing punya karakter tersendiri sesuai dengan tipe dan konfigurasi <em>pickup</em>-nya&#8230;.</p>
<p><strong>Squire strat</strong> dan <strong>Aria Pro 2 Les Paul copy</strong> dengan menggunakan <strong>Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive</strong> menghasilkan sound yang <em>smooth, crunchy</em> dan <em>bluesy</em>&#8230;.  selama pake multi-fx <strong>Boss ME-30</strong> sebagai <em>sound processor</em> saya malah gak dapet sound yang pas buat nge-blues dengan kedua gitar tersebut&#8230;..  lantaran gak pernah nemu setingan yang pas Boss SD-1 pernah lama masuk &#8216;gudang&#8217; alias gak kepake selain itu juga lantaran dulu saya lebih ngejar sound yang heavy&#8230;.. tapi begitu nemu contoh settingan yang saya dapatkan dari web-nya Boss&#8230;. akhirnya balik lagi ke SD-1&#8230;. hehehe&#8230;.</p>
<p>Dan kalau didukung dengan <strong>Boss MT-2 Metal Zone</strong> soundnya menjadi sedikit lebih kasar&#8230;. cocok buat main di <em>hard rock style</em>&#8230;. begitu pun kalau saya menggunakan <strong>Cort EVL-X4 </strong>sama <strong>BC Rich </strong>(sampai sekarang saya masih bingung BC Rich punya saya ini masuk tipe yang mana antara ASM, Assassin atau Gunslinger) sebagai &#8217;senjatanya&#8217;&#8230;.. malahan soundnya bisa lebih heavy bila MT-2 nya diset untuk sound metal&#8230;.. </p>
<p>Untuk amply-nya saya gunakan <strong>Prince Adder Plus </strong>&#8230;.. barang lama tapi masih lumayan walaupun ada beberapa <em>feature</em>-nya sudah tidak bisa berfungsi sama <strong>Squire Champ 15 Watt</strong>&#8230;. yang merupakan 1 paket dengan Squire Strat-nya&#8230;.. </p>
<p>Sekarang ini saya lagi kepengen nambah <strong>Boss BD-2 Blues Driver </strong>supaya bisa dapetin sound blues yang lebih tebal dan sedikit keras&#8230;. cuma belum ada dananya&#8230;.. hehehe&#8230;..</p>

Dispone di 10 tipi di Delay: Digitale, Analogico, a Nastro a Velocità Variabile, a Nastro a Testina Mobile, Dinamico (&#8220;Ducking&#8221;) Digitale, Dinamico (&#8220;Ducking&#8221;) Analogico, Dinamico (&#8220;Ducking&#8221;) a Nastro, &#8220;Time Warp&#8221;, Rovesciato e a Inviluppo (&#8220;Chopping&#8221;) e dispone inoltre a bordo di &#8220;Looper&#8221; da 20 secondi. Il TimeBender è anche dotato di controllo completo del timbro dell&#8217;intero tempo di ritardo, di moltiplicatore, di modulazione e di &#8220;ritmi&#8221; di ripetizioni a ping-pong su tutti i tipi di Ritardi e questo lo rende in grado di creare effetti di ritardo inarrivabili per qualsiasi altro pedale. Le sue capacità di controllo dal vivo comprendono &#8220;Tap-Tempo&#8221;, Ripetizioni Infinite e Controllo di Selezione delle Memorie, tutti attivabili a pedale. Per aumentare ulteriormente la distanza dai concorrenti, il TimeBender permette all&#8217;utente di creare ritmi (pattern) di ripetizioni definiti dall&#8217;utente semplicemente eseguendoli sulla chitarra. È possibile eseguire fino a 6 ripetizioni per poter creare effetti che, in altre condizioni, richiederebbero un&#8217;intero rack effetti ed ore di programmazione. Per esempio, è possibile creare un ritardo a nastro con testine mobili con 6 ripetizioni per le quali i tempi di ritardo non sono a distanze regolari ma cadono sulle esecuzioni decise dal chitarrista. A completare le capacità del TimeBender è presente la capacità di aggiungere ai ritardi Armonizzazioni Intelligenti. È possibile scegliere tra oltre 100 differenti Vocalizzazioni di Armonizzazione che comprendono ottave, 5e, 3e ecc. Se si attivano insieme alle ripetizioni permettono, per esempio, di creare strati di voci angeliche, per effetti mai sentiti prima d&#8217;ora. Il TimeBender offre da solo più di un intero rack di effetti di ritardo, completati dalle armonizzazioni intelligenti e dalla capacità di organizzare con immediatezza complesse ripetizioni ritmiche.</p>
<p>Continua la Digitech: &#8220;Mai prima d&#8217;ora un delay così avanzato è stato così facile da usare e addirittura racchiuso in un pedale. Da oggi in poi, il TimeBender è l&#8217;effetto di Delay sul quale verranno giudicati tutti gli altri effetti di delay&#8221;.</p>
