I spent the weekend visiting Salisbury with a friend. The trip wasn’t supposed to be quite so Salisbury-centric, but the weather and the tail end of a cold put paid to our original plans to go walking each day; and in the end all we managed was a five mile excursion round the barrows near Stonehenge.

Stonehenge i’ll come back to: i’d like to start at the beginning with Salisbury Cathedral. I have never thought of myself as the kind of person who enjoys visiting churches – or great buildings of any kind. Architecture is something i prefer to enjoy without analysis and formal gardens generally leave me cold. If i’m honest it was mainly the thought that the Cathedral would be drier – and maybe a bit warmer – than the streets and the hope that it’d have a bookshop that made me suggest to D that we visit it.

On arrival though it was love at first sight. Truly. It was a response that startled me and began even before we entered inside. The Cathedral has… an atmosphere… an ambience… that special something you can’t put into words without gushing or sounding like a ‘psychic’. Was it the proportions? The impression of simplicity? The setting? I don’t know but it had me hooked.

Inside my mood faltered momentarily in the face of a coachload of rude French tourists but was soon restored by the beautiful stained glass windows: blue and red; the light coming through the dark grilles; and the old wooden carvings. I lit three candles to departed loved ones in a side chapel – how rarely i have the chance to do this these days; i watched the workings of the mediaeval clock and i felt strangely touched by the sight of the crumbling 13th and 14th Century tombs. These were the kind decorated with a figure of a knight, apparently asleep. Some of them had been severely damaged: one was missing his nose, another his sword. We wondered if this had occurred during the Dissolution or if it had been inflicted by puritans during the Civil War.

What i loved more than anything was that you could touch as well as look. The lack of (refusal to grant) this is what frustrates me about art museums. What is the point of sculpture you can’t touch? I remember going to the Tate Britain just because they had a sculpture by Henry Moore that i was crazy about and being driven mad by the fact that i could walk round it and look at it from nearly every possible angle, but could never run my hands over the stone curves.

By contrast, in Salisbury Cathedral they had a sculpture called the Thornflower* by an artist called Charlotte Mayer. Viewed, this wasn’t anything particularly special to tell the truth, but touched it was a miracle: the abrasion of the thorns contrasting the smoothness of the leaves. Pain and Suffering, pleasure and comfort, beneath your fingers. Even D, who’s a much more practical type of person than me, was affected by it and we both agreed it was the standout experience of the visit.

On to Stonehenge, which we visited on the Saturday morning – the only time i think it stopped raining all weekend for more than a few minutes or so! With Stonehenge you’re back to an art museum type of experience – albeit in the open air. You can walk around the Stones, following a path that’s been laid out; but you can’t approach them and definitely can’t touch them. I can understand this: the henge is 5,000 years old and even the most recently arrived stones are 3,000 years old. Nobody’s going to build another one. Yet out of reach Stonehenge feels like an image of itself rather than the thing itself. Awestruck and disappointed all at the same time i took photo after photo, trying to make contact with it via the camera; then i went inside and bought books, postcards, even a fridge magnet. Still, i came away feeling that i hadn’t quite been there.

It seems that Mexican businessman of television, Emilio Azcarraga Jean, will take strong measures in the coming days that could redefine their society with a Spanish Marxist group that embarked on a costly adventure that can lead to Televisa, the world leader in television Hispanic headache wit
h some investors.
So far, management conducted by the consortium TELEVISA Azcarraga Jean, has been impeccable. Not only has preserved what he inherited from his father, but has even increased it received. He has made some interesting operations that have allowed diversification and, therefore, lower exposure to risks arising from having everything put in one basket. Certainly the bulk of the revenue remains the same, but no doubt it has been known to drive with two middle brilliance turbulence:
* The alternation of power in Mexico, which means they restructure the relationship with the real factors of power in that country, where the president no longer enjoys the privileges meta decades ago, and
* Successive economic crises resulting from financial mismanagement in New York: first, the severe blow to international investors on discovery of accounting scandals that began with the famous Enron case, and secondly, the recession triggered by the injection funds in high-risk mortgages that became unaffordable, and reason for the technical bankruptcy of the U.S. financial system.
However, the only point of concern is the dual society that has established a curious business groups, significantly linked to the Spanish Socialists, now experiencing serious problems.
A) The first was with today endeudadísimo Grupo Prisa, the late Jesus de Polanco, from a minor league contract for the operation of the company that gave rise to TELEVISA: XEW radio station, known as the Voice of America America from Mexico. The Socialist tendencies of the Prisa Group and, therefore, their SER radio division, has given several headaches Emilio Azcarraga Jean, before handling biased ideologizing with which it has been at times to manage the hotline and comments. Another of the ballast with which it has struggled Azcarraga Jean is Antonio Navalon, very disreputable character in Spain, for his involvement in an explosive case of just handling of public funds during one of the socialist governments of that country.
B) But the second case was the association of Televisa, in 2006,  with the so-called Group Mediapro, which in Spain has been linked publicly with the still politically from that country’s socialist president, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
TELEVISA Spanish entered the television market with a not inconsiderable 40% of shares in the channel called La Sexta, a firm that according to the initial public comment, due to ties of its main backer Spanish, the picturesque Trotskyist Jaume Roures, with Spanish socialist officials could get some juicy profits. This, however, has not worked. For the sake of those unfamiliar with the Hispanic social ExtraMED, we say that such Roures, who runs the television station La Sexta, a character who seems to emerge from the picaresque
* Roures is called in Spain “The People Basketball Zapatero.
* Roures Mediapro Group owns, operates as a holding company under whose umbrella they operate, for example, the open television channel La Sexta and declared a small newspaper of communist leanings called Public.
* The latest reports indicate that this group reported has a “financial gap of 3.140 billion euros, that is deepening every day because daily newspaper lost 50,000 euros and the Televisa network [which Televisa owns 40% of the shares], 350.000. 350,000 euros a day …!
* As if that were not enough, says the company “will have six years pay EUR 2.583 million for broadcasting rights. A huge number, because it is 25 times greater than the equity of the company and 80 times its operating profit” as Digital Journalist discusses just this past 21 November 2009. The numbers therefore do not add up.
* The worst of it all, and mainly for the smart Emilio Azcarraga Jean, is that they have two completely opposite philosophies. Emilio, in effect, recognizes the social function of television show, but also clearly stated in seeking business profitability, as it has hundreds of thousands of shareholders in the world who should be held accountable satisfactory. Instead, the picturesque Roures, defined itself as Marxist, says: “I make money to serve my ideas.” He adds: “I do not work, I was active.
Go partner to put into the hands of Emilio Azcarraga …! A Marxist activist who apparently affected the prestigious defined by the psychiatrist Otto Kernberg, as T ISORDERS Narcissistic Personality, “just looking to make money for autodeleitarse. And so lost 350,000 euros a day in La Sexta! Total, s nly happens to TELEVISA account …
The words I quoted from the picturesque Marxist Jaume Roures are copied from an interview he gave the French Communist newspaper Liberation, that any idle can be found at the website of the Paris daily.
Roures, the picturesque Marxist who spent several years in prison during the Franco regime not because of his ideas but his Trotskyite militant subversive as stated, even has a daughter who was born in Nicaragua during the Sandino-Communist revolution.
With the resources we got, they say in Spain, thanks to the business which was provided by its relations with the socialist leaders of his country, has produced films pro-Communist, as performed by Oliver Stone in which he praises Fidel Castro.
One thing is the words and other figures. You can say outrageous and a half, but the numbers do not lie. Let’s see how you represent the loss of MEDIAPRO TELEVISA And how long will support the Mexican television group which Roures continue having fun with other people’s money …
For now, Roures already had to cut staff in its daily paper Publico, which appeared last week without signatures in protest of drafting such a measure taken to address the crisis in the newspaper.
And to make matters worse, the Spanish Socialist government seems to water:
* The farmers took to the streets to protest the lack of support they enjoy.
* The Socialist government itself was discredited by the way they “solved” the hijacking of the vessel Alakrana: gave money to the pirates made a pact with them.
* Unemployment is rising, reflecting the strategy of raising taxes, worsening the crisis.
The political support Roures therefore also seem to sink. The ship then sinks.
PD is said that behind all these investments that some Mexicans like Carlos Slim and Emilio Azcarraga been made in Spain, Curiously, significantly with “businessmen” not typically Marxist and capitalist, is the hidden hand of Felipe González. Is it?

Todo parece indicar que el empresario mexicano de la televisión, Emilio Azcárraga Jean, tomará medidas enérgicas en los próximos días que pueden replantear su sociedad con un grupo marxista español que lo embarcó en una costosa aventura que le puede ocasionar a TELEVISA, líder mundial en televisión hispana, algún dolor de cabeza con los inversionistas.
Hasta ahora, el manejo realizado por Azcárraga Jean del consorcio TELEVISA, ha sido impecable. No sólo ha conservado lo que heredó de su padre, sino que incluso ha multiplicado lo recibido. Ha realizado algunas operaciones interesantes que le han permitido la diversificación y, por lo mismo,  la menor exposición a riesgos derivados de tener todo metido en una sola canasta. Ciertamente el grueso de los ingresos sigue siendo el mismo, pero no cabe la menor duda de que se ha sabido manejar con brillantez enmedio de dos turbulencias:
* La alternancia del poder en México, que le significó reestructurar las relaciones con los factores reales de poder en ese país, donde el Presidente ya no goza de las prerrogativas metaconstitucionales de décadas atrás, y
* Las sucesivas crisis económicas derivadas de los malos manejos financieros en Nueva York: primero, el severo golpe a los inversionistas internacionales con motivo del descubrimiento de fraudes contables que empezaron con el famoso Caso Enron, y en segundo lugar, la recesión detonada por la inyección de fondos en créditos hipotecarios de alto riesgo que se convirtieron en impagables y motivo de la quiebra técnica del sistema financiero estadunidense.
Sin embargo, el único punto de preocupación es el de la doble sociedad que ha establecido con grupos empresariales curiosa, significativamente ligados a los socialistas españoles, que hoy atraviesan por serios problemas.
A) El primero de ellos fue con el hoy endeudadísimo Grupo Prisa, del ya fallecido Jesús de Polanco, a partir de un contraro para la operación de la empresa que dió origen a TELEVISA: la estación de radio XEW, conocida como La voz de América Latina desde México. La filiación socialista del Grupo Prisa y, por lo tanto, de su división radiofónica SER, le ha dado varios dolores de cabeza a Emilio Azcárraga Jean, ante el manejo tendencioso, ideologizante con que se ha llegado en ocasiones a manejar la línea informativa y de comentarios. Otro de los lastres con los que ha tenido que cargar Azcárraga Jean es Antonio Navalón, personaje muy desprestigiado en España, por su involucramiento en un explosivo caso de manejos de fondos públicos precisamente durante uno de los gobiernos socialistas de aquél país.
B) Pero el segundo de los casos fue la asociación de TELEVISA, en el 2006, con el llamado Grupo Mediapro, que en toda España públicamente se le vincula políticamente con el aún Presidente socialista de aquél país, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
TELEVISA entró al mercado español de la televisión con un nada despreciable 40% de las acciones del canal denominado La Sexta, firma que de acuerdo a los comentarios públicos iniciales, debido a los vínculos de su principal promotor español, el pintoresco trotskista Jaume Roures, con los funcionarios socialistas españoles, podría obtener algunos jugosos beneficios. Esto, sin embargo, no ha resultado. Para mayor abundamiento de quienes desconocen el extramado social hispano, hemos de decir que el tal Roures, quien maneja la televisora La Sexta, es un personaje que pareciera surgir de la picaresca:
* Roures es llamado en España “El Basketball People de Rodríguez Zapatero“.
* Roures es propietario del Grupo Mediapro, que opera como holding y bajo cuyo paraguas operan, por ejemplo, el canal de televisión abierta La Sexta y un periodiquito de declaradas tendencia comunista llamado Público.
* Los últimos informes divulgados indican que tal Grupo presenta un “agujero financiero de 3,140 millones de euros, que se ahonda cada día porque  el diario pierde diariamente 50,000 euros y la cadena televisa [de la que TELEVISA posee el 40% de las acciones], 350,000″ . ¡350,000 euros diarios…!
* Por si ello fuera poco, se dice que la compañía “deberá abonar el seis años 2,583 millones de euros por derechos audiovisuales. Una cifra enorme, porque es 25 veces mayor que los fondos propios de la compañía  y 80 veces su resultado de explotación“,  según analiza Periodista Digital apenas el pasado día 21 de este noviembre de 2009. Los números,pues, no cuadran.
* Lo peor de todo ello, y principalmente para el inteligente Emilio Azcárraga Jean, es que ambos tienen dos filosofías completamente opuestas. Emilio, en efecto, reconoce la función social de TELEVISA, pero también ha señalado en forma clara que busca la rentabilidad de los negocios, dado que tiene cientos de miles de accionistas en el mundo a los cuales debe rendir cuentas satisfactorias. En cambio, el pintoresco Roures, autodefinido como marxista, dice: “Yo hago dinero para servir a mis ideas“. Y añade: “Yo no trabajo, yo milito“.
¡Vaya socio que le pusieron en bandeja a Emilio Azcárraga…! Un militante marxista que al parecer  afectado del definido por el prestigiado psiquiatra Otto Kernberg, como “Trastorno Narcisista de la Personalidad“, sólo busca hacer dinero para autodeleitarse. ¡Y por eso pierde 350,000 euros diarios en La Sexta! Total, sólo le pasa la cuenta a TELEVISA…
Las palabras que he entrecomillado del pintoresco marxista Jaume Roures están copiadas de una entrevista que ofreció al periódico comunista francés Liberation, que cualquier ocioso puede encontrar en la página web de dicho diario parisino.
Roures, el pintoresco marxista que estuvo varios años en prisión durante el régimen franquista debido no a sus ideas sino a su militancia subversiva como troskista declarado, incluso tiene una hija que hizo nacer en Nicaragua, durante la revolución sandino-comunista.
Con los recursos que consiguió, dicen en España, gracias a los negocios que se le facilitaron por sus relaciones con los dirigentes socialistas de su país, ha producido películas procomunistas, como la realizada por Oliver Stone en la que se ensalza a Fidel Castro.
Una cosa son las palabras y otras las cifras. Se puede decir barbaridad y media, pero los números no mienten. Vamos a ver cuánto le representan a TELEVISA las pérdida de MEDIAPRO Y hasta cuándo soportará el grupo mexicano de la televisión el que Roures siga divirtiéndose con el dinero de otros…
Por lo pronto, Roures ya tuvo que hacer recorte de personal en su diario Público, que apareció la semana anterior sin firmas como protesta de la redacción ante esa medida tomada frente a la crisis que sufre el periódico.
Y para colmo, el gobierno socialista español parece hacer agua:
* Los agricultores salieron a la calle a protestar por la falta de apoyo que les otorga.
* El mismo gobierno socialista quedó desprestigiado por la forma en que “solucionó” el secuestro de la embarcación Alakrana: dio dinero a los piratas; pactó con ellos.
* El desempleo va en aumento como reflejo de que la estrategia de subir impuestos, empeora la crisis.
Los apoyos políticos de Roures, pues, parecen también irse a pique. El barco, pues, se hunde.
P.D. Se dice que detrás de todas estas inversiones que algunos mexicanos como Emilio Azcárraga  y Carlos Slim han realizado en España, curiosa, significativamente con  ”empresarios” marxistas y no típicamente capitalistas,  está la mano oculta de Felipe González. ¿Será?

Una cosa son las palabras y otras las cifras. Se puede decir barbaridad y media, pero los números no mienten. Vamos a ver cuánto le representan a TELEVISA las pérdida de MEDIAPRO Y hasta cuándo soportará el grupo mexicano de la televisión el que Roures siga divirtiéndose con el dinero de otros…
Por lo pronto, Roures ya tuvo que hacer recorte de personal en su diario Público, que apareció la semana anterior sin firmas como protesta de la redacción ante esa medida tomada frente a la crisis que sufre el periódico.
Y para colmo, el gobierno socialista español parece hacer agua:
* Los agricultores salieron a la calle a protestar por la falta de apoyo que les otorga.
* El mismo gobierno socialista quedó desprestigiado por la forma en que “solucionó” el secuestro de la embarcación Alakrana: dio dinero a los piratas; pactó con ellos.
* El desempleo va en aumento como reflejo de que la estrategia de subir impuestos, empeora la crisis.
Los apoyos políticos de Roures, pues, parecen también irse a pique. El barco, pues, se hunde.
P.D. Se dice que detrás de todas estas inversiones que algunos mexicanos como Emilio Azcárraga  y Carlos Slim han realizado en España, curiosa, significativamente con  ”empresarios” marxistas y no típicamente capitalistas,  está la mano oculta de Felipe González. ¿Será?

Todo parece indicar que el empresario mexicano de la televisión, Emilio Azcárraga Jean, tomará medidas enérgicas en los próximos días que pueden replantear su sociedad con un grupo marxista español que lo embarcó en una costosa aventura que le puede ocasionar a TELEVISA, líder mundial en televisión hispana, algún dolor de cabeza con los inversionistas.
Hasta ahora, el manejo realizado por Azcárraga Jean del consorcio TELEVISA, ha sido impecable. No sólo ha conservado lo que heredó de su padre, sino que incluso ha multiplicado lo recibido. Ha realizado algunas operaciones interesantes que le han permitido la diversificación y, por lo mismo,  la menor exposición a riesgos derivados de tener todo metido en una sola canasta. Ciertamente el grueso de los ingresos sigue siendo el mismo, pero no cabe la menor duda de que se ha sabido manejar con brillantez enmedio de dos turbulencias:
* La alternancia del poder en México, que le significó reestructurar las relaciones con los factores reales de poder en ese país, donde el Presidente ya no goza de las prerrogativas metaconstitucionales de décadas atrás, y
* Las sucesivas crisis económicas derivadas de los malos manejos financieros en Nueva York: primero, el severo golpe a los inversionistas internacionales con motivo del descubrimiento de fraudes contables que empezaron con el famoso Caso Enron, y en segundo lugar, la recesión detonada por la inyección de fondos en créditos hipotecarios de alto riesgo que se convirtieron en impagables y motivo de la quiebra técnica del sistema financiero estadunidense.
Sin embargo, el único punto de preocupación es el de la doble sociedad que ha establecido con grupos empresariales curiosa, significativamente ligados a los socialistas españoles, que hoy atraviesan por serios problemas.
A) El primero de ellos fue con el hoy endeudadísimo Grupo Prisa, del ya fallecido Jesús de Polanco, a partir de un contraro para la operación de la empresa que dió origen a TELEVISA: la estación de radio XEW, conocida como La voz de América Latina desde México. La filiación socialista del Grupo Prisa y, por lo tanto, de su división radiofónica SER, le ha dado varios dolores de cabeza a Emilio Azcárraga Jean, ante el manejo tendencioso, ideologizante con que se ha llegado en ocasiones a manejar la línea informativa y de comentarios. Otro de los lastres con los que ha tenido que cargar Azcárraga Jean es Antonio Navalón, personaje muy desprestigiado en España, por su involucramiento en un explosivo caso de manejos de fondos públicos precisamente durante uno de los gobiernos socialistas de aquél país.
B) Pero el segundo de los casos fue la asociación de TELEVISA, en el 2006, con el llamado Grupo Mediapro, que en toda España públicamente se le vincula políticamente con el aún Presidente socialista de aquél país, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
TELEVISA entró al mercado español de la televisión con un nada despreciable 40% de las acciones del canal denominado La Sexta, firma que de acuerdo a los comentarios públicos iniciales, debido a los vínculos de su principal promotor español, el pintoresco trotskista Jaume Roures, con los funcionarios socialistas españoles, podría obtener algunos jugosos beneficios. Esto, sin embargo, no ha resultado. Para mayor abundamiento de quienes desconocen el extramado social hispano, hemos de decir que el tal Roures, quien maneja la televisora La Sexta, es un personaje que pareciera surgir de la picaresca:
* Roures es llamado en España “El Basketball People de Rodríguez Zapatero“.
* Roures es propietario del Grupo Mediapro, que opera como holding y bajo cuyo paraguas operan, por ejemplo, el canal de televisión abierta La Sexta y un periodiquito de declaradas tendencia comunista llamado Público.
* Los últimos informes divulgados indican que tal Grupo presenta un “agujero financiero de 3,140 millones de euros, que se ahonda cada día porque  el diario pierde diariamente 50,000 euros y la cadena televisa [de la que TELEVISA posee el 40% de las acciones], 350,000″ . ¡350,000 euros diarios…!
* Por si ello fuera poco, se dice que la compañía “deberá abonar el seis años 2,583 millones de euros por derechos audiovisuales. Una cifra enorme, porque es 25 veces mayor que los fondos propios de la compañía  y 80 veces su resultado de explotación“,  según analiza Periodista Digital apenas el pasado día 21 de este noviembre de 2009. Los números,pues, no cuadran.
* Lo peor de todo ello, y principalmente para el inteligente Emilio Azcárraga Jean, es que ambos tienen dos filosofías completamente opuestas. Emilio, en efecto, reconoce la función social de TELEVISA, pero también ha señalado en forma clara que busca la rentabilidad de los negocios, dado que tiene cientos de miles de accionistas en el mundo a los cuales debe rendir cuentas satisfactorias. En cambio, el pintoresco Roures, autodefinido como marxista, dice: “Yo hago dinero para servir a mis ideas“. Y añade: “Yo no trabajo, yo milito“.
¡Vaya socio que le pusieron en bandeja a Emilio Azcárraga…! Un militante marxista que al parecer  afectado del definido por el prestigiado psiquiatra Otto Kernberg, como “Trastorno Narcisista de la Personalidad“, sólo busca hacer dinero para autodeleitarse. ¡Y por eso pierde 350,000 euros diarios en La Sexta! Total, sólo le pasa la cuenta a TELEVISA…
Las palabras que he entrecomillado del pintoresco marxista Jaume Roures están copiadas de una entrevista que ofreció al periódico comunista francés Liberation, que cualquier ocioso puede encontrar en la página web de dicho diario parisino.

Well, the move of this journal to a new location is now complete. I apologize for any confusion or difficulty that anyone had to deal with.

The move was made to protect myself and my readers from a hateful individual that was in my life. Apparently, despite years of being open about it, I was “ambushed” by an uncle of mine over my religious beliefs. I think I can sum up how low the conversation went just by telling you that he repeatedly told me that if he ever sees me he will “stone” me for my “ridiculous beliefs.” He feels that my beliefs, which I’ve held since I was a child, are “just a cry for attention.” Several of my family members and friends are very angry over this… to the point that many of us have severed all ties. It is unfortunate that it came to that point, but I know that I personally have enough drama in my life without his contribution. I don’t need to associate with a man who hates me simply because I do not hold identical views to his when it comes to religion.

I’m a hoarder by nature, so my drawers and cupboards are full of all sorts of useless old tat – buttons for shirts I’ve long since got rid of, Top Trumps cards I haven’t used since I was 11, that sort of thing.

But when I go on holiday I can legitimately hoard things, and often what looks like nothing to other people has great significance to me: sat in front of me, for example, is a big stone which I am using as a paperweight to keep an unruly pile of receipts in check.  But it’s not just any old stone.  It was a stone I washed Bosante the elephant with in a crocodile-infested river in Nepal in the summer.

I’m probably a bit sentimental with souvenirs, and I do tend to keep nigh-on anything as a reminder or keepsake.  But I love buying things which show the culture of the place I’ve been to, and Nepal was brilliant for that.

Ganesh painting

Above is a painting of the Hindu God Ganesh which I picked up in Pokhara for less than £5.  It is painted onto cloth and the colours and design are stunning.  Held up to the light or placed in a well-lit window, the colours glow and shimmer – it took somebody hours to make, and I feel privileged to own it and be blessed by its ‘good luck’ charm.

Hanging beneath Ganesh on my wall is this slightly scary face mask which I picked up for the equivalent of about £3.50 in Pokhara.  I particularly like the third eye in the middle of the forehead, which I think is a nod to the wrath of the Hindu God Shiva whose third eye opens to see the evils of the world…

Buddhist prayer wheel

More religious iconography, this time recognising the influence of Tibetan culture into Nepal from the displaced refugees who have set up villages and monasteries throughout the country.  This prayer wheel opens up to reveal Buddhist scriptures and mantras which are chanted as the wheel is spun.

An Indian wall-hanging

To diverge away from Nepal, my greatest souvenir extravagance this summer was the above wall-hanging (£10.50) which I bought in Mandawa in the northwest of India.  According to the vendor, it was hand-stitched by “gypsy women” over a period of several weeks. 

I don’t doubt he was telling the truth, but maybe I do doubt his judgement (or his eyesight).  As I walked into his shop he beamed at me and shouted “James Bond!”

Hiroto, the vocal of the blue hearts is here. We are just going on the stage together, there are some more musicians, but not the member of the blue hearts. Hiroto looks a little weak, his voice is not strong. I go on the stage with him, he starts singing “Mirai ha bokura no te no naka”, which means “The future is in our hands”.

It is a gym, gym of my old junior high school. The purple cartain on both side, where we came out is actually behind of the stage, where all gymnestic stuff there. Then I just realized, this is not my junior high school’s gym, this is the elementary school’s one. The old wooden floor, the doors on both side, and the behind.

Students are making que and standing, nobody dancing. Hiroto is shouting as he used to do, but the voice is not strong enough, I am almost crying but I know I should not cry.

What am I doing on the stage? I am not the member of the blue hearts, I am just singing with Hiroto, but without microphone.

The 2 girl of the first lane are wearing very vivid dresses. One is in vivid green and another one is vivid blue. Other girls are all in black, as normal school uniform. I recognize these 2 girls, they are my friends from junior high school.

Hiroto stopped singing, and all students turn around and walk to the door behind. The 2 girls, one is in green, one is in blue, I:m seeing their back in all black students. Their dress looks cheap and very old style. The green one, which is left of the blue one, she got someone to hold her skirt like long wedding dress, but actually the dress is not long that much, so I can see her legs from behind.

I jumped down to the wooden floor, run after the all students. Get out the door behind, then they are not manking que, it was more like chaos.

On the lft side, there is toilet, after passed toilet, we turn to the left. Then I realized that the floor is so beautiful. The color is mixed yellow,  blue and purple, there are many different color of jewels on the floor. Every single jewels has silver frame, it seems like silver is like working like glue to put the jewels on the floor.

I am so happy to walk on it, there are many part of the isle which is still on construction and not really safe – jewels, silver or needles are bumping out of the floor. But still it is so beautiful.

I am looking the part which is still on construction, it shows how it’s made. I see vivid yellow cloth on the bottom, then blue on it, on the top is purple but little close to silver. Each layer is transparent, and the lights made the color so much beautiful.

I keep walking on the isle but then find myself running like flying, jumping and running, feel so free.

Back when I was learning to lead belay (and climb multipitch routes), one of my guides told my classmates and I that we needed to go get daisy chains and belay gloves before he’d let us lead belay: a daisy chain so that you can attach yourself to an anchor (although now I typically anchor with a clove hitch on the dynamic rope and have my daisy as backup) and gloves to make you more likely to catch a long fall when the force could otherwise start ripping the skin on your palms (yes, the thought of that makes me cringe, too).

The belay gloves are especially relevant for someone like me, who has small hands and often belays someone heavier than myself and I’ve continued wearing them most of the time. I’ve found that they help me when I’m dealing with the extra friction when top-belaying with my Reverso, and they help keep my hands a little more rope-grime-free (because when my hands get all rope-grime-y, I’m even more likely to accidentally get rope grime all over my face).

So over the past ~6 years I’ve gone through 2 pairs of Metolius Climbing Gloves, which are leather 3/4 finger belay gloves (I wear an XS). I’ve been pretty happy with them, except for the fact that sometimes the internal seams can really rub on the backs of my fingers (non-ideal when the cracks you’re climbing are doing that too).

I recently received a pair of the new Black Diamond Stone Gloves, which are also leather 3/4 finger gloves (again, I wear an XS in these also). I’ve been using them for the past couple of weekends doing short multipitches and cragging and overall I’m very happy with them, although there are a couple small issues you may want to consider, depending on what you plan to use your gloves for.

When I first put the gloves on, I noticed that they already felt nice. My previous gloves have always been a bit stiff at first (which makes the whole seam-rubbing-on-fingers problem worse), but these were good right away. They fit me a little tighter than my Metolius gloves, but the Metolius ones were always a tad big anyways. I have the gloves in black, but they also come in tan. The black has been nice in this cooler weather, but for warm weather uses I imagine the tan might be preferable.

The 3/4 finger length gave me good dexterity (a lot of full-finger gloves are too long for my small girly fingers), while still providing my hands with some warmth (which is another reason I like to have gloves with me). The gloves have a nice big (yet fairly low-profile) velcro strap to help with the on/off. They have worked just fine for standard belaying and rappelling and I don’t see any reason to switch back. The gloves are very well made and I think may be lighter than my previous gloves, which are both nice features.

Here’s how the gloves look on my hands. Note how the leather doesn’t really cover 3/4 of my fingers…

There were a couple of small issues:

  • The fingers are not quite as long as the fingers on my Metolius gloves. This means you have to try a little harder to keep the rope in your palm and not rubbing against your fingers – so these may not be the ideal gloves for aid climbing, where you have a lot of rope-pulling to do.
  • As you can see in the picture, there are holes in the straps. I assumed these were loops to clip in to when I want to put my gloves on my harness. So far they haven’t been as well suited to this purpose as the loops on my Metolius gloves. I also discovered some small loops on the inside of the glove that I guess you could thread a small loop of accessory cord through to make your own clip-in loops, but I still don’t know how well this would work. Basically the main annoyance is that the two gloves don’t sit in quite as low-profile a manner as I’m used to when they’re on my harness.

Overall, I’d say these are great for most cragging and multipitch uses. The gloves are well-constructed, reasonably lightweight, comfortable, and easy to get on/off. For any routes that could involve more hauling and aiding, I’d probably recommend going with something a little more heavy duty and with longer fingers.

Hello blogger and internet searchers. This is my second post and today I think i will cover the second logical topic to cover after explaining common phrases and that is, races! Yes it is time I finally tell you who and what these different players in this RPG are. Now, there are quite a few of them so I will only cover three and some origin races if I have the time. I do tend to like to ramble on a lot so this may be a long post so bare with me. Now then, lets begin with the…

Humans

The humans are the oldest race in the universe. They are the only origin race to not divide into multiple sub-races. They are the most accomplished, arguably the most evolved, and are the most varied race in the known abyss. They have been known to be the most cruel and the most compassionate, the most violent of warriors and the most peaceful of diplomats. They are the only origin race to die quickly, there lifespans being about 50-80 years.

Dwarves

Dwarves were not exatly enslaved by the human empire more like they were born into it because there ancestors and origin race, the stonekind, were enslaved by rimefire. They are a sub-race of the stonekind and inherited their wisdom and ability to create amazing weapons and armor. They are all ruled over by one King and keep, for the most part, in the mountains of the north and the west. They not only stay in these mountains for the tactical advantage they provide (should they be attacked) but also because they spend much of there early and late life underground digging and searching, hoping to find artifacts or books that will tell them more about the stonekind. They have long lifespans and can live as long as a thousand years (this was found out in an experiment done by RimeFire) but the average lifespan is shorter only around 500-750 years.

Elves

The elves were the second race to be enslaved by Rimefire. They are decendents of an ancient race whos name has been lost to the ages. Slender and tall by comparison to humans. They were enslaved mostly not to work but to as a show of force to others of their home plane. They are the most advance civilization technologicly, save for the ramaining rimefire cities, there cities are small but are more about expansion upward. They are most often seen in the forest as it reminds them of the place they long ago called home. There home plane of existance can be seen in the skies at night and many believe this is why they build their cities upward and keep there oldest at the top.

well due to time constraints that is all I will be writting today, perhaps soon I will have more time and be able to speak about the stonekind, the shadowkind, the old ones, the goliaths, and the immortalkind.

LONDON – Twitter founder Biz Stone has said that Twitter is planning to launch paid-for commercial accounts, which would provide corporate users with additional services to those that are freely available on the microblogging service.

In an interview with the BBC, Stone said Twitter will begin offering the commercial services this year as he addressed critics who have questioned whether it has a plan to make cash.

The launch of the commercial accounts does not mean all businesses will suddenly have to pay to use Twitter. Stone reassured users that the service would always remain free to corporate and personal users alike, but he said Twitter would offer companies additional paid-for services.

Google just found another big ally against NewsCorp: Stone of Twitter.
And Stone offers a basic and wise advice to Murdoch:

‘Biz Stone says he’d “love to see what happens” if Rupert Murdoch really yanks his newspapers from Google, predicting that he’ll “fail fast.” The Twitter co-founder thinks News Corp would be better off trying “to make a ton of money from being radically open rather than some money from being ridiculously closed,” he said at an event in London.

‘Murdoch recently opined that search engines shouldn’t legally be able to use headlines from his papers in search results, and he’s announced his plan to put all of News Corp’s papers behind paywalls. Twitter by contrast is totally open, but some have questioned how it’ll make money. Stone says they’ve got monetization plans, notes the BBC, including “explicitly commercial accounts,” that allow users to pay for analytics. It’s also considering selling data to search engines.’ -BBC
