It was a pleasure to shoot this wedding for a couple of great friends from college.  I have known Tera & Eddie for 4 years now, and it is easy to see why they get along with each other so well, they are both caring and genuinely fun-loving people to be around.  Congratulations you guys!

Since it opened on May 1, 1989 as the third major theme park at Walt Disney World(r) Resort, Disney-MGM Studios has celebrated the golden age of Hollywood with such classic attractions as The Great Movie Ride, Magic of Disney Animation and the fascinating Backlot Tour. However, starting in January 2008, Disney plans to change the theme park’s name to “Disney’s Hollywood Studios,” which reflects “how the park has grown . . . to a celebration of the new entertainment that today’s Hollywood has to offer – in music, television, movies and theater,” according to Walt Disney World President Meg Crofton (August 9, 2007, press release).

Along with the name change to “Disney’s Hollywood Studios,” the 135-acre theme park will launch a slew of new attractions, live shows and special events in 2008 to complement such classics as Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show; Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Major attractions and live entertainment venues to be added for 2008 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios include the following:

Block Party Bash
An all-new Disney-Pixar inspired parade, Block Party Bash, will enable guests to sing and dance along with their favorite characters from such hit Disney animated films as A Bug’s Life, Cars, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc., Ratatouille and Toy Story. The Block Party Bash also features high-flying acrobatics and is a must-see for guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting in the spring of 2008 (replacing the Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade). .

High School Musical 2: School’s Out!
The interactive High School Musical 2: School’s Out show makes it debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with a lively cast that dances and sings to hit songs from the wildly successful Disney Channel original film, “High School Musical 2: School’s Out!” Catch “Wildcat fever” at the High School Musical 2: School’s Out show, which will be presented multiple times daily at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Jedi Training Academy
Based on the incredibly popular Star Wars films, the Jedi Training Academy at Star Tours features an intergalactic entertainment experience that gives young Jedi students the opportunity to learn the “ways of the force” in order to battle and defeat the evil Darth Vader and his minions. The Jedi Training Academy will take place multiple times daily at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Play House Disney-Live on Stage!
A whole new Play House Disney show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will include a host of new Disney Channel characters from such programs as “Handy Manny,” “Little Einsteins” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” Designed for preschoolers, the live Play House Disney show will last approximately 20 minutes and take place multiple times daily at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Playhouse Disney is located on Soundstage 5 in the Animation Courtyard, directly across from The Magic of Disney Animation.

Toy Story Mania!
Toy Story Mania! takes the interactive ride-game experience to infinity . . . and beyond! Inspired by the classic Disney-Pixar animated movie, Toy Story, Toy Story Mania! will make its debut in the summer of 2008 as the newest attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With state-of-the-art, 3-D technology, this thrilling interactive ride will take guests on a wild adventure through a video game where they use spring-action shooters to toss rings at aliens, throw eggs at barnyard targets and launch darts at balloons (scoring points in the process just like at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin). Toy Story Mania! will feature all your favorite Toy Story characters such as Woody, Hamm, Rex and much more.

In addition, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be an integral part of Disney’s Year of a Million Dreams celebration, which has been extended throughout 2008. In addition, Night of Joy at Walt Disney World will be hosted for the first time by Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Held in early September (September 5 and 6 for 2008), Night of Joy features some of the most talented singers in contemporary Christian music for a magical celebration full of joy and inspiration. Four popular acts have already confirmed for the 2008 Night of Joy: MercyMe, tobyMac, Chris Tomlin and Rush of Fools.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2008 will also continue to feature opportunities for kids of all ages to meet and greet their favorite characters such as the Power Rangers, JoJo and Goliath and Little Einsteins as well as Lightning McQueen and Mater from Disney-Pixar’s animated movies, Cars.

INTERVIEWS ARE HAPPENING

Triceptus Studios work is finally getting recognized by the local and regional media, to which we are simply ecstatic over our hard work paying off for this year.  I never thought in my wildest dreams that I personally, would be the center of attention sometimes, or rather our company would be at the center of attention at times when we produce a program or project and people respond to it and other people promote it.  We recently did an Interview with TTN-HD, who are a local podcasting company, spotlighting all of the up & coming artist in the Massachusetts Film & Entertainment community.  Now, us being featured was a great shot in the arm.  And I know I got a lil more work to do with my interviewing skills and for me, who doesn’t like being in the public eye a lot, it was a tall order.  Laz critiqued me on it and said it was a bad interview, ‘to which’ I agree after seeing it.  But as time goes on, we learn from our mistakes and we prosper in the long run.  See what you think about this interview with the lovely – Princess Santiago of TTN-HD:

BACK UP YOUR WORK

We’re (or I, should say) am making this public because everyone makes mistakes and we are not oblivious to it.  But earlier this week, one of our Hard Drives that contain our HD footage was corrupted, in which we have to put it in service in hopes of retrieving our data.  Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, EXCEPT, we have an important deadline we have to make, and we DO NOT intend to miss it for anything, even if we have to spend a lil more to get the results we need.  Which is why I want to stress to aspiring producers/directors/writors/editors/collaborators, and anyone in the creative process to just – BACK UP YOUR WORK.  Every piece of it.  Every nook, every cranny, just back it up.  Trust me, headaches are not worth the trouble of making sure your work is safe and secure.  Just back it up.  Not sexually, but you know what I mean.  BACK UP YOUR WORK.

THE MUSIC MAKING PROCESS

2009 has had a lot of gifts presented to the Studio, particularly myself, as I learned so much about who I am, and what I am capable of, I just don’t want to turn off the dial and slow down, cause I want more for this thing we have.  Like any man woman or child, I love music, and music to me is the single most important communication and emotional tool ever created by mankind, for it can influence, it can change, it can make or break whatever it touches.  Now when it comes to making music, I was a novice at first, trying to figure out what I wanted to do and why.  I give Laz a lot of credit for helping me to stick with it knowing, it was something I wanted to do and accomplish, and at least try to be a modest beatmaker with a unique sound.  When you try to make music, just LOOSE YOURSELF to what you are thinking, come up with a simple structure, and get crazy with it.  The best part is going through the journey of music making rather than completing it.  And it’s even better if you have someone along for the ride as well.  Take it from me.

Wednesday December 2nd 2009, I will be at the Boston Music Awards and showing love to our fellow artists and promoting our work.  We will be there in full force letting everyone know what Triceptus Studios is all about.  Just putting it out there.

– AND THAT’S A RAP!!!

Apple (s aapl) said it was going to allow independent content producers open access to the tech and process behind iTunes LP and iTunes Extras, and it has done good on that promise, as TUAW reports. Today Apple has created a dedicated page on its website that offers devs interested in the format “everything you need to know to create a rich, interactive experience around your music and movies. All right in iTunes.”

For those who may have missed it, Apple introduced the iTunes LP and iTunes Extras rich media formats for albums and movies when it released the latest major update to iTunes, version 9. Both LP for music, and Extras for movies, package extra content with a customer’s purchase, including videos, behind-the-scenes info, commentary and more.

There was some speculation shortly after the launch that Apple was purposely keeping the enhanced formats closed, and letting only major labels in on the party, in exchange for a $10,000 per album/movie admission charge. Apple denied the allegations, and it turns out it wasn’t lying.

Anyone who wants to can now head over to Apple’s site and check out three documents that should help even well-motivated amateurs work their way through the creation of the new value-add formats. There’s a template for both, and also a template how-to document that provides step-by-step instructions about how to create your LP or Extras.

For now, each and every artist and label that wants to create either an LP or an Extra for their album or movie will have to go through a manual submission process. And that’s only if you’re able to submit at all. The submission process is currently limited, with Apple directing people to contact their label or studio reps to see if they have access. Apple intends to have automated, electronic submission in place in the first quarter of 2010, but until then, most people will probably be stuck creating without any real hope of publishing.

Rocky Mountain Yoga is open! Start coming now!

A friend asked me today, “how do i get started?  Is it expensive?  Any insider advice?”  I called him back and left a voice-mail and told him to call me back and we could talk…but I was so excited that I left my thoughts on the voice-mail anyway (i tend to leave a long voice mail every now and then, i suppose, just in case i never talk to you again, for some reason or another, i would like my message to get to you).  Then i thought, this should be my next blog…it should have been the first, but, it wasn’t so, here it is…

I told him (Jason, thanks for the inspiration and questions) that i recommend he look into the Yoga studios in his neighborhood, really check out what’s all around (i never minded traveling for different Yoga experiences; different classes or different environments).  Look at their schedules on line and see what sort of explanation of their classes they provide.  That’s what i did.  i soon found that there were a ton of different names out there and i quickly realized that i had no idea what was going on, so no real idea how to choose.  it was one thing to see Power Yoga, or Flow Yoga, i could come up with some image on those.  But what the heck is Anusara Yoga, or Ashtanga Yoga, or Hatha Yoga, or Himalayan Yoga, or Vinyasa Yoga, or, or, or??

Well, for starters, from what i understand, any sort of postures yoga; any physical yoga, exercise-type yoga is Hatha Yoga.  So, all these other names, they are all types of Hatha Yoga, again, that is when it comes to doing postures (asanas).  So, Anusara is a type of Hatha Yoga, same goes for Ashtanga and Himalayan and Vinyasa and so on and on.  It gets confusing because once you think you know that, you come across a studio or center’s class schedule and they list Vinyasa Flow and Hatha Yoga and you thing, but wait?!  what?  i thought Vinyasa Flow was Hatha, what’s more Hatha about the Hatha class?  augh.   Nothing, at its core.  But it does seem that when people call a class Hatha and not something else, its regular, basic, maybe a slower paced Yoga.  Its a yoga with no bells and whistles.  It doesn’t have a special “gimmick” or slogan, save for all the “slogans” that come along with all the ancient philosophies that are a part of all other Hatha yoga anyway.

it all makes more sense the more you do it and go to more classes and see that there are such a great many similarities.  Some types have a certain series they follow, like Ashtanga.  Some link every move with an inhale and an exhale, Vinyasa…but these are all fun research projects.  i find that is it so great to get recommendations, but there is nothing like experiencing it all for yourself.  So, as i was saying before, look up your local studios and check their schedules, if you would like further description of the types of classes they have, search them on the internet, it’s all out there.  Then, or instead of that, call the studio or just go down there and be open and honest and ask them what they’d recommend for you.  They will give you the best advice, because they know what they’ve set up there.  I’ve been to studios where they offer Hatha 1, 2 and 3 level classes, and there’s really no difference.  I’ve also been to studios where the difference is drastic, but i will say that of all the studios i’ve been to, no teacher has ever turned me away because i don’t have enough experience.

One of the great things about Yoga, is there are always modifications.  So, even if you are in an advanced class because it was the only time that worked for you that day, if you tell the teacher, they will help you; they will offer modifications.  Or, if you just get into a class that is proving hard for you, there’s always modifications, you can always go into a relaxation or easier pose to get your breath back.  If you’re competing in Yoga, pushing yourself to an unsafe place, be that a place of physical pain or a place where your ego is getting the best of you and you are doing a pose in a way that is not good for you, you could hurt yourself; that is your ego pushing you to compete.  This Yoga practice is such a great place to let go of your ego and do what’s best for you.  My point is, no matter what class you go to, if you have a hard time, accepting that you need a break or a modification is highly respected and looked well on.

And by the way, everybody has hard days.  You never know who you’re standing next to, so comparing is pointless.  you might be standing next to a dancer who can do the splits all the ways, and you end up feeling jealous.  what you might not know is though she’s in the splits, her mind is racing and she can’t get present.  So, actually, doing the splits in Yoga is turning out to be hard for her.  Calming the fluctuations of the mind is what we’re trying to do in Yoga too.  So, remember, you are you, and you don’t share the same history as the person next to you.  That’s why they say in Yoga, “start where you are”.  There is no better place to start than now.

Is it expensive?  It can be, sure…but the beauty about just starting is you have so much exploring to do and Yoga studios know that, so many of them give the first class for free.  Many studios also offer, at a discounted rate, an unlimited week or month, for the first timer. that is how i started.  It’s such a great idea that they do this, it gives you such a great chance to really experiece their style, or in some cases, many styles in one place.  Some studios focus on one style, others will offer many styles.  Again, this all turns out to make a lot of sense, once you start getting into it.

I also went to the library and got books on Yoga.  It was so tempting to buy every book on Yoga I saw, but there are a million, from books on postures to books on different traditions and philosophies…i really recommend the library, you will save yourself a lot of money and if something just isn’t clickking with you, you won’t feel so bad;  you’ll just return it.  Also, check out the Yoga DVD’s at the library.  Try doing it at home, then moving to a studio if you’re not comfortable going straight to the studio.  It’s a nice idea to get a video before your first class anyway, so you can check out some of the poses and see what they’re called.  Some teachers use the Sanskrit names, some translate them all to english, some mix.  I mix, because i think it’s fun to speak of them in the language they came from, but i like to say the english translation too.

I had trouble getting to my first class, because of social anxiety issues; i was always nervous about walking into any new place the wrong way and looking the fool.  The first Yoga class i actually went to was with my sister.  She had started going to the studio down the street from where she lived.  When she told me, i jumped at the chance to go with her; to go with a person who could walk be through the place; through the steps and help me to feel comfortable.  That was all i needed, and from there, i’ve never had a problem walking into any studio or center, and for that matter, anywhere.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, Yoga helps Yoga and that helps your whole life.  It gives you the tools, physical and mental to keep it all up.  And for that, i am so very thankful.

Wow. Great movie, just for the simple fact that someone was capable of making a film without stupid things jumping out at you like those youtube shockers and things of that nature (we’ve all encountered the maze or color test I’m sure)

This has by far been one of the best paranormal movies I think I have ever seen. It’s no wonder this $25,000.00 budget movie made uber millions! This movie takes you through a view of the other side, which if you’ve never experienced a paranormal event, it gives you a pretty good idea of what types of things you could expect. Footsteps, scratching, knocking,  inhuman breathing through EVP (electronic voice phenomenon). I have heard of people being disappointed in this movie and that is probably due to the fact that they’re so used to having something leap out at you with some wacky film effects and lots of LFE going on.

Paranormal Activity gets a 5/5 in my movie rating book for thrills and suspense. This movie exemplifies how a paranormal thriller should be! Honestly, I did not even want to look at my monitor in full screen because I was completely suspecting some wild looking demonic figure to just pop out in front of the camera to make me have to put on my Depends =P.

The boyfriend however was a serious douche who just made everything worse, to all you kids out there interested in playing with a Ouija board or spirit board, DON’T DO IT! Take it from someone who has had numerous paranormal events in his life and has certain abilities. Pissing off an inhuman is definitely something you do not want to do….The ending was a disappointment to a point, I wish they wouldn’t have shot Katie at the end, I know that’s kinda the point, but still, could have made it longer and shown the after effects and stuff, ah well, I just know what I would’ve liked to have seen ending-wise.

If you have ever had to substitute for another dance teacher you know how hard it can be. People don’t like change, and dancers become especially accustomed to having a particular routine. Recently I had to have a young lady step in to teach for me because I was traveling and it made me think about how challenging it is to be a sub.

Teaching for someone else can be a very difficult task, but there are ways to make it easier. Here are a few things that have worked for me:

+ Do your own thing. Don’t try to be like the person who was teaching the class, instead, do what you are comfortable with. You will feel more confident and things will go more smoothly. The students will adapt.

+ Ignore those odd stares you’ll get the first class or two. Some students will not like the change–especially at first. This has nothing to do with you. The other teacher has had time to develop a rapport with the students and you are new. Expect a few ruffled feathers and don’t take it personally…

+ Ask students questions. Sometimes it can help to draw them out of their shell a bit. If you can, come a little early and engage students in conversation before you head into class. It will help you get to know each other better.

+ If you get nervous, say so. This won’t work for everyone, but sometimes it can help if you just tell the class you are a little nervous. They may be more sympathetic than you would think. Plus, sometimes just saying the words can get rid of the butterflies.

For a month or two now, App Tech Studios has been working on a 3D car stunt game called Empty City 3D!!! It is still under development, but I wanted to let everyone know what we are working on. Basically, you are driving a speeding fast stunt car in a HUGE 3D open world (city). But that isn’t all, there are time attack modes with online leaderboards! The spaces will be filled in soon, so post what you think they are, but watch this thread for more info that will slowly be revealed…

ITV1 has commissioned a one-off special starring Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, Cheryl Cole’s Night In, from ITV Studios.

The program will feature Cole performing songs from her new album and welcoming artists who have been her musical mentors, friends and influences, including Rihanna, Will Young and Alexandra Burke. Cole is also set to perform with will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, and other musical artists will be confirmed soon. Cheryl Cole’s Night In will be broadcast later in the year. It will be executive produced by Claire Horton and Michael Kelpie and produced by Simon Marsh for ITV Studios.

Cole commented: “2009 has been an incredible year for me with a number one single and a number one album and being part of the X Factor. And I couldn’t be happier that ITV have asked me to round off the year with my own show, working with some of my favorite artists.”

ITV’s controller of entertainment, John Kaye Cooper, said: “Cheryl started her journey on ITV1 on Popstars The Rivals and we’re delighted that she now has her own special on the same channel. It’s just testament to her very special talent.”

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole is set to star in a celebrity-packed special for ITV1 this Christmas.

Cheryl Cole’s Night In will be produced by ITV Studios and will feature musical performances from Will Young, Rihanna, Alexandra Burke.

Cole will also duet on the programme with Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am, who she previously worked with on her solo debut single, Heartbreaker.

The programme was ordered by controller of entertainment John Kaye Cooper and will be executive produced by Claire Horton and Michael Kelpie. Simon Marsh will produce.

Since bursting on to the small screen in 2002 on Popstars The Rivals, Cheryl has fast become one of the UK’s best loved stars as one fifth of Girls Aloud, noted as one of the most successful girl groups in the UK.

As an X Factor judge she won the 2008 contest with her protégée Alexandra Burke and has now released the fastest selling single of 2009 making her a number one artist.

Cheryl commented: “2009 has been an incredible year for me with a number 1 single and a number 1 album and being part of the X Factor. I couldn’t be happier that ITV have asked me to round off the year with my own show and work with some of my favourite artists.”

UK terrestrial ITV1 is lining up a one-off special focusing on pop singer and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole, to air later this year.

Cheryl Cole’s Night In is being made in-house by ITV Studios, and executive produced by Claire Horton and Michael Kelpie, with Simon Marsh producing.

The special will see Cole perform songs and will feature other artists such as Rihanna, Will Young, Alexandra Burke and Will.i.am.

The first-ever Creative Talent Network Animation Expo in Burbank this weekend gave industry professionals a chance to showcase their work and learn about new trends, but some took the opportunity to push their colleagues into new territory.

Gary Goldman, who worked with colleagues Don Bluth and John Pomeroy to privately fund and produce “The Secret of NIMH” in 1982, argued that animators needed to ditch studios that seemed reluctant to support hand-drawn projects over the last decade.

Instead, animators should learn how to be entrepreneurs, he said.

Although Disney animation will release its first major hand-drawn animated feature in years this month, called “The Princess and the Frog,” artists brimming with creativity should not leave themselves at the whims of studio executives and should instead take their skills to investors to develop their own projects, he argued.

Right, let’s crack on. Today I’ve got a number of things to do. The first was to download Spotify…check! For all of our music-referencing needs. A really handy tool to listen almost any artist you like.

I also hope to get a paypal account sorted so people can pay for the recording/rehearsal sessions online and with credit cards.

I’d also like to set up a dummy rehearsal set up to take photos for the website, and get a feel for the space we need.

I’ll also be organising some more gig stuff, and hopefully sending out the first newsletter (which I also need to design). So…exciting times!

There is good news for dance professionals who use both LinkedIn and Twitter–you can now combine the two. LinkedIn is offering you the ability to add the “Tweets” app so that you can share what you post on Twitter with those on LinkedIn. You can also allow your Twitter account to be visible on your LinkedIn profile. It pays to utilize social media as much as possible, so try to set aside a few moments to take advantage of this new pairing if you can.

Okay, so lately everyone has been just highly annoying with the whole New Moon garbage that is apparently playing on this rainy day.

I mean seriously, this is a very tenny-bopper movie, females ages 15-40 are hopped up on this crap, why? This is more annoying than a baby whining loudly in your ear at a restaurant. Kids, if you want something worthwhile with vampires, go watch True Blood, at least there’s good stuff there, Twilight is like the Harry Potter of the vampire world obviously and Harry fails too.

Save your money twinkletoes and go watch something worthwhile .
