I don’t think we ever hit rock bottom until someone else knows what’s going on. When we say something out loud it becomes real. I think I hit rock bottom a few days ago when I hit “publish” on my last post. To admit many of the things I struggle with, that I don’t talk about to even the people I’m closest to, was probably one of the hardest things I’ve done in my life. But when I finally said all the things I needed to say, I felt liberated. Now, I am not saying that the days since have been a cakewalk. I have continued to struggle over the past few days. The struggles are harder in a way, since now I have people constantly asking me if I’m alright, which reminds me how not alright I really am. But they are also made easier. I am no longer carrying the burden of my troubles alone; I have people around me to help. They encourage me, and lovingly correct me when I mess up. James 5:16 says: Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed . . . When we address our struggles and our sins and bring all of them to light, we are able to be healed from them.

I know I am broken. But I have hope in my God because in His word He says: . . . My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (II Corinthians 12:9, 10).

If I was to look back on the past few days, I would see innumerable instances of God’s amazing love and grace in my life. He has shown me that I am loved, I have a purpose, and that He made me beautiful despite how I feel. I know that the things I was dealing with were just lies from satan. I know that when I give my problems to God, The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”(Exodus 14:14).

Ever have one of those dreams that you wake up from and think that you have the greatest idea ever? Then as the days, weeks, months pass you realize just how ridiculous your dream truly was?

I had such a dream about a week ago. Woke up and thought “I have invented the aviation industry of the future”. So I started to write down my ideas on a blog draft. Adding a few paragraphs every day to expand on my ideas. It wasn’t until I started to share these ideas out loud to someone, and quickly realized, Holy Crap….this is the worst idea EVER!

So in a nut shell, this is me telling you that yes…I have a blog written with the craziest ideas of future aviation, but I am not going to post it. At least not now.

Maybe I will one day for comic relief, but for now it will be filed under the folder of “WTF were you thinking”.

I’ve started this series a few months ago and it’s pretty different from other siren series. I especially love Alex! He’s so funny and sweet.

2-4-1 Challenge Update

We’ve stuck hard and fast to our (well, my) 2-4-1 Challenge. Keeping track of the incoming stuff hasn’t been easy. Keeping track of the outgoing stuff is so much easier because I always feel so good about finding something new to shed. It’s amazing how you think you’re done shedding things and you find more.

So, the current figures look like this: 80 in: 259 out.

I’m not overwhelmingly happy with those figures. For MONTHS we sat on about 15 in and 100s out. Then Little Fearse’s birthday happened. We knew we were going to take a beating, and we tried to prepare ourselves by getting rid of as much stuff as possible in advance, but woah! And you know, a lot of the presents Little Fearse received were totally BNN. They were second hand or hand made or things we’d asked for that she needed. We were stoked. Little Fearse was stoked. But it was a huge influx of incoming things and that’s hard to take when we’re working so hard to reduce.

One of the things I should note about the 2-4-1 Challenge is that we do not add things to outgoing that are thrown away or put in the recycling. If it is not passed on to someone else or donated then we don’t count it as outgoing. This means that we are thinking really hard about ways things can be reused, rather than just turfing. Recycling is a last resort, too. It’s a passable option, certainly better than the trash, but it is not as great as reusing.

Some happy 2-4-1 moments were:

seeing a friend show up to work wearing a vintage dress I’d passed on to her,
being able to give away a lovely little cat figurine to a small friend when she took a shine to it,
making over $100 selling stuff on eBay
offering a newly walking toddler from Mum’s group a pair of brand new shoes (which never fit Little Fearse).

The 2-4-1 Challege has made me think differently about my things. I look at them according to their usefulness and I think about where they might be more useful. I love this and I hope that I’ll be able to continue to purge steadily.

I did think I’d be able to get rid of a lot more at a faster rate. This kind of befuddles me, because I really do have a lot of stuff. In the beginning I didn’t even count the 40 odd things I had already boxed up for the op shop. I had hoped to get rid of 100 things and thought “Too easy!” Well the first 100 was easy, but after that it became a lot more difficult. I have a new found respect for Brooke’s 2013 items in 2013 challenge. Hopefully there are some little stashes that I just haven’t found yet!

So, número uno. That intriguing debut album. A different experience for everyone, it is often the result of a lot of prior planning, determination, and a strong desire to get yourself noticed.
Well…This blog isn’t a lot like that. In regards to planning, I set up this blog on a whim after googling “blogging sites”, and deciding that blogger was too obvious a choice. Possibly I felt intimidated by the thought that “blogger” implies a certain experience and talent in the field already, whereas I have had next to no experience of this and would have much preferred a site called “throwordsatyourcomputer” or at the very least, “Rambler”.
Ok I’m lying. I did once set up a blogger account, made a post about wallpaper, and then wisely left it to float in cyberspace. Combined with one very peculiar YouTube Vlog, this makes up my entire internet CV. But we’ll brush over that one.
The truth is I guess that I don’t know why I set up this blog. The attempt mentioned above certainly stopped me for a while. For reasons of my own uncertainty, this wont be topic specific, but I will be sharing a lot of what is a rather over active imagination. Posts about myself, music, friends, places, experiences and (probably not) wallpaper will be splattered around the place like the works of an infantile Picasso who took too much paracetamol. And yes, there will be many attempts at humour.
Sorry.

Chances are that anyone reading this at first is someone who knows me very well, after I have posted it on Facebook or something. To these people, I will apologise because they may end up making a lot of the content of this blog, as they have the good fortune of being associated with a complete nutter. To new people, feel free to take these little written sparks of insanity in whatever way you want. I’m not out to get myself noticed, and if I can’t find a meaning in this blog initially, maybe someone else can.

Its been a while since I’ve done these kind of posts, but I am back working on my series and other stuff that’s not related to it. Technically, school for me ended on Thursday of last week (since I had no exam on Friday) and never even bothered to talk about my updates for my series. Anyways, let me get to the point that I’m currently at for my series, Psychic Sights.

While I was typing it out a while ago, I second-thought about it and I decided to not make the entire series in drawn animation. If anyone asks why, well… it just seems like a whole lot of work for me and I seriously don’t want it to be a complete “long-term” goal; besides, I just finished my freshman year in high school.

For the most part, the series will have the maple sprites created from Bannedstory 4 and my own drawn animations. Its actually a half and half thing I’m working at, but for everything else like the script and voice actors – they’ll be the same (or something like that).

Anyways… I’m completely stuck on making the script if you guys are wondering. I had to start the entire script over since I didn’t make anything have sense and I was only at the first part of Chapter 3 then. I also had to go through deja vu when I messed up everything once more when I was halfway through Chapter 1. As of right now, the script will actually look like a script and – coincidentally – fixing up the bios on the wikia.

I also want to note that I’ll let some people voice 1 or more characters when the voice auditions are out. I just think that having over 40+ different voice actors will be chaos; besides, three-fourths of the voice actors don’t really have a main role in the series. The only main roles are: Riley, Leo, Olivia, Selena, Mark, and Floya. If you keep thinking about it, some of the campers might also have the role between main and minor.

Oh yeah – I’m gonna put a drawing/fanart contest up after I draw the characters out. I don’t want to give the details on that yet, so just be patient until I get to that plan, okay?

Finally taking a break. Taking stock. Got a yArt sale this weekend at the pittsburgh center for the arts to try and clean out a few yrs worth of ephemera and art that didnt make the cut into my shows. After three yrs of hard corp gallery art shindigs, it is time to step back and have some accountability in my life. Im breaking after my last show to see some concerts and live a little with some chicks ive been missing heavily. Cleared up drama over my next show. Nothing big just some paintings at a hip lounge in the east end. Trendy shit that will sell i guess. But back to the tequila.
I like chicks with lots of ink and metal in their faces. Could be a sign they are damaged like me. Could be a sign that im fucking crazy. Who knows? More importantly, who cares?

I don’t know if I’m a so-called hoarder, but I do have a strong tendency to hang onto things. And my home is cluttered, though I could give you a pretty good explanation as to why that is the case.

However, from time to time, I try to get a bit better about this behavior, and by better, I mean decrease it’s frequency, duration and/or intensity.

For those of you who are familiar with Fry’s Electronics, you know that when you’re ready to purchase your item, you end up in a long, well organized line that leads through a long aisle with items for sale on either side. Not big ticket items, but low priced things that might lead to an impulse buy. This is how I wound up with a very small LED flashlight with a clip that would allow one to attach it to the brim of a baseball cap. I really did think this would be handy for me, particularly at yard sales when looking at CDs. As it turned out, the flashlight part, and the clip part, were separate, and attached with a ball and socket something like our shoulders, and, unfortunately, a bit loose. As a result, one day, I discovered that I had the clip, but not the flashlight. I thought I might have dropped it between the car and my apartment, and I posted a note by the mailboxes, in case anyone ran across it.

However, after a few weeks, I gave it up, and when I next noticed the clip, I tossed it. So, of course, about five days later I found the flashlight, between the seats in my car. I’d looked under the seats, but I hadn’t looked between the center console and the passenger seat, which is where it was. The flashlight, without the clip, is of almost no use at all.

Which may go to prove that my earlier tendencies to hang onto STUFF, is the right way to go, and implications to the contrary were, after all, nonsensical criticisms of my righteous way of living. So there. Brzzzzzzz.

Hi, my name is Gracie and I thought, if you might want to follow me, you should know some stuff about me.

First of all, I am here for anyone and everyone. I don’t care what it’s about, if you need someone to talk to, I will try my best to help you.

Secondly, I stick up for what I believe in. I am a Christian, I do NOT support homosexuality, drinking, drugs, sex before marriage, etc. If you happen to have a problem with it then do not stick around on my blog.

Thirdly, I love every single person on this earth. I might not like what they do, but I love them no matter what.

Also, you are beautiful. Whether you weigh ninety pounds or three hundred, I think you are absolutely stunning. We all have bad days where we feel like we aren’t, but the truth is, how we see ourselves is how other people see us. So, keep your head up because you’re gorgeous.

Lastly, I like what I like and dislike what I dislike. Just that simple. Maybe you don’t agree with me on things and that’s perfectly okay but don’t judge me on it. For instance, I hate cats and you might love them like every other human being but I’m not abnormal for not liking them, okay?

And that is just to let you get an idea of who I am. If this sounded mean in anyway shape or form, I promise I didn’t mean for it to.

Updates on Random Stuff!

I’ve been trying to figure out what to write here…and my conclusion was just to “write”…didn’t have to be anything extremely fancy, right?
My birthday morning was sleeping, going to tutoring (for math…yes, I had to survive this torture on my birthday!), skyping with my friend Carlee, and then lunch with my parents (got to open presents!), the rest of the day I spent skyping with some of my closest friends, and then a couple of my Kitimat friends came over for supper, and then more skyping! It was really special, I got to “spend the day” with some of my closest, and best friends. Unfortunately for me a lot of my good friends don’t live here, but a lot of them made time for me in there busy schedules to spend a little while skyping for me. They made me smile, laugh, and it was great to catch up with them! As you might’ve seen from my “Some Things You Might Not Know About Me…” post, I love video calls but don’t get to do them often, but I did get to do them on my birthday, and it was really special being able to spend my day with people (in real life AND video call) that mean so much to me.
People were also really generous, and I was blessed with some really nice gifts…I don’t want to seem like I’m bragging or something if I tell you what I got. If you’d like to know what I’ve got let me know in the comments below and I will do a post on it!

What have I been reading this month?

Right now I’m reading the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” books! I got the box set of this series for my birthday, which was great! These are one of my favorite fantasy series and I would highly recommend them!

This is the last spoiler guys! I promise! The other books I’ve been reading are “The Chronicles of Narnia”, by C.S.Lewis! I got the box set for my birthday (last thing I’ll mention…if you want to know any others…comment!), I only had a massive copy of all of them…and I couldn’t carry it around! I’m a HUMONGOUS Narnia fan, and if you haven’t read them yet: GO READ THEM!

Right now I’m struggling to get all my school done! Things are absolutely INSANE, and I’m looking forward to summer…and summer school! Yep. I’m one of the few “lucky” ones who gets to work on my education through the summer. I will still be taking breaks, but for the majority I will be working on my school. Yay! I keep reminding myself that it’s just “one more year…just one more year to go!” That’s what’s keeping me going!

Right now I’m wrapping up my “Christian Studies” for School, and have had super fun in studying Wayne Grudem’s “Systematic Theology”, and have realized how heavy some notes are. I was only studying one Chapter, Chapter 16 on “God’s Providence.” If anyone is looking for some interesting Theology Studies, I’d recommend this!

Theology is always something that I’ve found fascinating. Learning more about my Savior, and getting to know the basis for what I believe is something that I’ve loved to do, this study is DEFIANTLY worth the time.

What else have I been up to?? Well, I’ve been working with my Girl’s Group, and a little while we got to do a Photo Shoot, a devotional about beauty followed. That night was awesome for me, because I got to run around doing peoples hair…and somehow, I managed to escape wearing a dress! (HOORAY!) It was awesome, working with this group this year has been amazing, and getting to know them, and work together, and work on my leadership skills has been such a blessing! One of my next posts will be showing you some of the pictures from this photoshoot.

I got new Glasses!!!

I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted, and after looking through glasses there wasn’t anything that I really liked…the lady at the optometrist pulled out some new glasses. She gave me a pair that were wire rimmed, and were the “safe” choice, and then these ones. Everyone thought I would go with the other ones…but everyone liked these ones were better…and I agree with them! They make an impression, are different, and fun!
