Joe Cole’s first goal of the season, 11 minutes into the second half, rounded off a satisfying afternoon for Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti.

“It was an easy game because we played very well,” said the Italian, who was without Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack.

“It shows we have a very good squad.”

After losing to Chelsea on their last outing, Manchester United returned to winning ways with the help of a stunning opener from Darren Fletcher, who lashed a bouncing ball into the top corner of the net ten minutes before half-time.

Second-half strikes from Michael Carrick and Antonio Valencia completed what manager Sir Alex Ferguson described as a “controlled performance”.

Ferguson underlined the importance of staying in touch with Chelsea.

“If we get to the new year within a point or level at the top of the league we have a big chance in the second half of the season,” the Scot said.

Arsenal’s failure to score underlined the significance of the injury which will keep top scorer Robin van Persie out for up to six weeks.

“We can only blame ourselves because we didn’t score,” admitted Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal boss. “That’s worrying because going forward we lacked sharpness and the desire to get behind defenders.”

Liverpool and Manchester City’s hopes of challenging for the title were left looking remote after they settled for a 2-2 draw at Anfield.

Liverpool, who have won only once in 10 matches in all competitions, are now 12 points adrift of Chelsea while City trail the leaders by 11 points after drawing their last six league matches.

Martin Skrtel volleyed Liverpool into the lead five minutes into the second half. Emmanuel Adebayor headed City back on level terms and Stephen Ireland gave the visitors the lead only for substitute Yossi Benayoun to equalise barely a minute later.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez remainded upbeat.

“The positive thing is we showed great character when we went behind,” the Spaniard said.

“I think we won six games in a row not so long ago and we have to think positive. When we have all our players coming back I am confident we will start winning games in a row.”

Aston Villa climbed into the top four at the expense of Tottenham — who entertain Wigan on Sunday — after coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Burnley.

Scotland international Steven Caldwell’s ninth-minute strike had put Burnley on track for another win at Turf Moor but Emile Heskey salvaged a point for Villa with four minutes left.

Birmingham’s recent improvement continued with a 1-0 win over Fulham that extends their unbeaten run to four matches. Midfielder Lee Bowyer beat Fulham’s offside trap to score the winner after 16 minutes.

The relegation battle between Hull and West Ham ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Headers from Guillermo Franco and Jack Collison put the Hammers 2-0 up after only 11 minutes but Hull were ahead by the interval after an own goal by Carlton Cole, a superb strike by Kamil Zayatte and a Jimmy Bullard penalty.

Every things nice with a little sugar and spice. Isn’t it? Ohhh yes, it is. Cowgirl Chocolates

Every things nice with a little sugar and spice. Isn’t it? Ohhh yes, it is. Cowgirl Chocolates can prove it.

When the package arrived from Cowgirl Chocolates, and I opened the box and saw the gorgeous red box inside, I didn’t want to open it! It was so pretty, wrapped in ribbon, adorned with the sweet little star on top. Being the country girl I am, I was in love. Marilyn, the head cowgirl over there, has great taste!

This is chocolate with a kick. Whatever your chocolate need be. Ladies, we all have a need for chocolate at one time or another. How many occasions can you think of? Cowgirl Chocolates creates a “just because” chocolate occasion, sporting the spiced up flavors that’s sure to make your toes curl!

After I finally opened my pretty little red box, my husband walked by and nabbed a piece of candy. He just happened to pick up Buckin’ Hot Habanero Caramel, HA! He ran with it. Straight to the sink for water. That’ll surely teach him to nab my goodies again. Now the mix of chocolate and spices are good, really good! But not all will set you on a running trip to the waterin’ hole. My daughter and I got to taste some of the Cowgirl Chocolates that didn’t have a kick. One of our favorites were Raspberry lemonade dark chocolate, an old cowgirl recipe blended to perfection with raspberry, lemon and deep dark chocolate. And on my “to get” list is Sarsaparilla Milk Chocolate, milk chocolate swirled with sarsaparilla (root beer) from the good ol’ days.

Why don’t you wander on over to the Flavor Guide, and see what you can find that you’ll like. With or without a kick.

I love the keepsake packaging they have.

Head Cowgirl Marilyn Lysohir founded Cowgirl Chocolates in 1997.

Her two favorite things in the world are art (she has a notable career as a ceramic sculptor) and chocolate. In fact her first job was working in a chocolate factory in
Pennsylvania. Marilyn mingled some favorite memories
with some new ideas to create an American original,
Cowgirl Chocolates.

Cowgirl Chocolates has won a total of 16 product awards
and 2 packaging awards and is located in Moscow, Idaho
USA. It has also been featured on the Food Network
on “Unwrapped” and “Extreme Cuisine” and in the New

IS there an end to education?…For me it’s a never ending process!!!

Often I feel overwhelmed when I get a chance to learn something new..It gives me a feeling of great satisfaction, a feeling of how much there is for me to learn, and how less time I have at my disposal. As I bury myself in books and articles it brings me motivation to learn more. It brings a freshness around me and I’ am sure there will be more people out there who experience the same joy and enthusiasm as me. For me learning is a never ending process. I love to learn beyond my knowledge of expertise; in subjects I have never explored, because there is so rich matter out there yet to be discovered by me.

There has been a dramatic change in how we learn about new things with the invention of WWW. This year we completed 40 years of internet and I still can’t imagine what more can be done with it. This week I stumbled on a article on TIME magazine “50 best websites of 2009″ and found www.academicearth.org a very great website to learn beyond the realms of classroom. It has huge collection of lectures from professors of many universities, spread across fields. And, you have no boundary on which subject you want to learn. It provides an opportunity for people who want to learn. It’s a gem for people who want to know a little more than there books. It has opened the gates of several universities for students across the globe, who can’t attend classes.

So Keep Learning. Because that’s the only treasure you have!!!

For lack of something else to write about, I thought that I would go on a stumble blog-a-thon. Do you stumble? It is awesome for time wasting when Facebook isn’t putting out.

How to Be a Flapper Girl – Vintage Life Network

First thoughts: Great dominant image – an authentic-seeming ‘Flapper Girl’ holding a beautiful olden days style camera. It is pink and grey – nice pastel colours that look the part. It is basically a single blog page with lots of hints on how to look like a flapper. HtBaFG recommend doing a bit of research (always a good idea), with tips on talking, makeup and hair. Not something I will give the Stumble ‘thumbs up’ to.

4/10

Things People Said: Restaurants

Even before this page has loaded I am excited about it! I’m guessing that it’s one of those ‘overhead in …’ type of pages. My favourite. Because I’m such a ‘watcher’ and a ‘listener’ to other people’s lives, I love to hear other peoples found audiofiles.

First thoughts: Ugly as page. Totally unattractive. Aesthetically displeasing. Looks like someone constructed it using the giant spraycan tool in Paint. And that is no clumsy metaphor.

Overall the page is pretty disappointing. Probably the best example is:

Me: “Do you have hot tea?”

Her: “Well, it is not very warm…but….”

Me: “No I mean do you have hot water and a tea bag?”

Her: “Yes.”

Me: “So you can make me hot tea.”

Her: “Well I can put a cup of iced tea in the microwave for you.”

Me: “No, just give me a cup of hot water and a tea bag, and I will make my own.”

Her: “Do you want ice in the cup?”

Will not be getting the Stumble thumbs up.

2/4

Music 4 You

Really cool first page. Opens in a new window. Black. Cool graphics. The page can be viewed in either English or Italian. Gets cooler, with cooler graphics. It seems to be an audio production house. Ethereal music with surreal imagery on the front page with a tool bar to listen to different audio that they have produced. Highly recommended.

Gets the Stumble Thumbs Up.

This thing is super cool. I am pretty sure everyone does this. When I think of other people like celebrities in stuff it is hard for me to imagine then having a real life. Like one that actually goes on when they are not in front of cameras. Almost like they are just here for when I need them to entertain me. I always thought that was weird. This isn’t really like that but it’s awesome none the less. It’s a site where you can pick from one of five city cameras and then scroll the camera around to pretty much any moment during that day and see what was going on over there. I love other countries and just traveling in general. I want to get a tatto0 that kind of symbolizes that. Whenever I am a place to long I get antsy and need to go somewhere. Life on the road never gets old.

Today, I was peacefully browsing along. All was well and quiet. Then suddenly some xylophone music starts playing. So now I’m frantically looking through my 20 something tabs to try find the abomination and shut it off. I can’t find anywhere to turn off this music, and I’m not really even sure which page it is as there isn’t any indication anywhere that there is even music… I had to close everything.

Don’t put music that automatically plays on your pages. It’s nothing but annoying & infuriating.

Whatever you do, do NOT put heavy metal music as the page load music.

I had heard of this site before, but a friend directed me to it again today. It is one of the better sites to use up spare time. Not just a time waster, but a useful time waster. You can input your area of interest, then it will take you to sites that relate in some way to that area. Often uncovering gems that you would come across no other way.

Give it a try, it’s quite fun.

Meditations in James: 28 : Stumbling Christians?

Jas 3:2 We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.

Have you ever wondered why all the pastoral letters of the New Testament were written? The simple, short answer is because people aren’t perfect. Once we can accept that simple truth, the Christian life becomes so much more simple. If you haven’t realised that, then when you do fail you will feel guilty and the guilt will cling and keep on making you feel bad. When James says We all stumble in many ways he is saying it to both reassure and to challenge. When I was a younger Christian I encountered those who preached perfection, and because I knew I was not perfect, I felt really bad about myself. I didn’t realize that when Jesus said, “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Mt 5:48) he was giving us a target to aim for, something to work for.

Now theologians sometimes refer to ‘imputed righteousness’ and ‘imparted righteousness’. Imputed righteousness is the righteousness that God imputes or credits to us when we receive Christ’s salvation. He declares us righteous in His sight on the basis of the work of Christ. When we receive Christ we are ‘justified’ or, as some have said, God makes it so it is “just-as-if-I’d” never sinned. In His sight we are declared righteous. But any honest Christian knows that from time to time they get it wrong, and there are character imperfections in us that need working on, and this is where ‘imparted righteousness’ comes in. He has given us His Holy Spirit who is totally righteous, and as we learn to let Him lead us and express Jesus through us, so His righteousness is imparted to us and expressed through us.

John in his first letter also alluded to this: “I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defence–Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.” (1 Jn 2:1). In other words sin, or getting it wrong, should not be a common thing in our lives now, but the reality is that we will stumble, we will trip over our feet and get it wrong sometimes. John gives two answers to that. Answer number one: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 Jn 1:9). That is our side of it. Answer number two: if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defence–Jesus Christ.” (1 Jn 2:1). That is God’s side of it, Jesus speaking up in our defence, reminding the Father that he has died for all our sins. The challenge that comes with all this, is can we aim to keep sin out of our lives as much as possible?

But then James says something that seems both an impossibility but at the same time a challenge: If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. The person who is careful in what they say and is never at fault in speaking, is a perfect person and that ability to speak righteously reveals the heart that is within and that heart enables us to control our whole life. Now is it possible to be perfect? Well, we’ve already covered that above in the first paragraph. Maturity is certainly something that the Bible suggests we can achieve. The writer to the Hebrews commented, “solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” (Heb 5:14). There are therefore mature people. Paul also said, “We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature.” (1 Cor 2:6) implying the same thing. James said earlier, “Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (Jas 1:4). There he linked it with being complete or whole. Jesus’ call to perfection in Matthew 5 is actually a call to wholeness or completeness. So, rather than worrying about being ‘perfect’, and constantly feeling bad when we spot things that are less than perfect, can we instead aim for maturity, for wholeness and completion? This then becomes a goal to work for rather than a means of condemnation. Recognize that you have some way to go, but actually set yourself the goal of letting God change you, like his word says (2 Cor 3:18), to become more and more like Jesus.

There are two things we can do to facilitate this process of change. The first thing is to let the Holy Spirit search you and help you face up to how you fall short. This is similar to the assessing that Paul says should go on in us when we come to take Communion: “A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.” (1 Cor 11:28). There are some things that will be obvious and we need to confess them and deal with them. Some things we may feel we need the Lord’s help to overcome. Ask Him. The second thing is simply to develop your relationship with the Lord. As we do that, His presence will change us. Now there are basic disciplines that Christians through the ages have found build and change us – reading the Bible, praying, worshipping, fellowshipping with other Christians, being a witness to others – all these things work in the process of changing us.

So, to summarise, recognize that sometimes you will get it wrong but there are two things to help us there (see above). Don’t be content with those imperfections: confess them, seek God’s help to overcome them, and at the same time work positively to develop your relationship with Him. Be changed!

Good memories para halloween 09.

Fold your shirt - Quiero aprender a hacer esto! jaja

Y que no se me quede alguna imagen que haya encontrado por ahí.

This dream was given to me on or around the first of the week (9/28-9/30 -2009) Micah Wright I foun

This dream was given to me on or around the first of the week (9/28-9/30 -2009)

Micah Wright

I found myself starring into what looked to be some sort of screen hanging in complete darkness. I was eye to eye with one of the most beautiful woman I had ever seen and she was fully aware of me, as if we could feel each other’s presence through the digital abyss. The eyes were piercing, the lips longing, the intent fully known by both of us as our thoughts became words….. I found my thoughts saying “no”, SHOUTING” NNOOOoooo!” The words rushed all too sudden from my lips, “NO” with every bit of strength I could muster. I love my wife, my life, my family…. “No”, I will not give in… no…

Just as soon as I had said those words, I was instantaneously within the beast as if I possessed his very being. I found myself sitting on a throne, not in the kingly sense, but a throne of technological inspiration, a futuristic captain’s chair. I looked down to see his arms stretched out on the throne with his hands clutching the ends of it. His arms were like mine, being human, bristling with veins and strength. I could feel his strength as the chair creaked under his strain. I was in a strategic, tactical command center; Screens everywhere, with a person monitored in every screen and every screen monitored by a Him or a Her. Wait! I said almost consciously, I was on the other side and in that moment I was anxious, I… He… We… the beast were demanding a response from her. As she turned around, she looked at me with fear and loathing as she said, “We have tried everything and I have seduced him with money, power, distractions, fear, anxiety, sadness and grief. I have induced doubt, lies, delusions and illusions. I have caused him to lust, I lusted with him and for him, and I have caused him to stumble and fall, broken his resolve and immersed him in life and the business thereof. I have given him everything, done everything; all I know to do now is kill him.

I, as the beast, reeled out in anger, IMPOSSIBLE… he will turn; we said… he will turn almost screeching. I need him; I can’t let this one go. He will bring me many, the yield will be exponential. He must turn, He will turn… She coward in fear and said but how do we turn him…..

It was if I and every other person on those screens were critical to the beast and his plan. We, the chosen by God the Creator, were destined to fulfill a plan designed before we existed for His Glory and Purpose, were being targeted by the beast. He had a spiritual minion for each of us; a male for a female and a female for a male. They were directly assigned to us for the sole purpose of turning us to the Enemy and his plan. If he could capture one of us, he could capture the gifts given by God the creator to us, in an effort to destroy the “head count” that God the Creator could reap in the ” harvest of souls”.

In that moment on the screen behind her, I could see myself standing in the darkness. I could see a light in my chest like that of a candle begin to spark like the light from a sparkler. As she captured the reflection in my or rather the beasts’ eye, she turned to face the screen, screaming “NO… NO… he is turning….. HE’S TURNING!!!” and in that moment, the spark in my chest became as bright as a nuclear blast. The Beast and she both turned away from the screen in fear, hiding from what they had just witnessed. He, the beast, begin to scream out in disgust and anger.

As the white blindness began to subside, I then found myself above my body, hovering as if watching it from a far. This light, such a bright light was shooting from my very inner soul straight up towards heaven. It looked just like the beams from the search lights that cut through the deep and dark night. It was like a fantastic and radiant lightning bolt, yet sustained and lighting up everything around me. It was then that I realized I was seeing the world, my world and it was dark. Everyone and everything was in darkness and this beam of light was now illuminating this darkness. I could see people moving to and fro within this world. Each person had a small flame of light within their chest that was barely flickering or fighting the winds to stay lit. There were other people that had a light in their chest, but it was not like that of a candle flame or spark or even the beam that now shone from my body. This light was red, a deep muted and barely visible red. It was week in some and stronger in others, but it was very, very present. I understood in that moment that this red light was those that had turned. This was what the beast was yelling about, that he could turn me. That he could turn that “little light of mine” from a yellowish light that was flickering between good and evil, heaven and hell to a full red light that was his. The beast was trying to claim my soul; he was passionate and involved at the tactical level in the efforts to keep me “Turned off”!

Again in this moment, I saw others that were around me reel back in fear from this now overpowering beam of light emitting from my soul. It was just so bright that they couldn’t stand it and began to run away from me, but after 10 – 20 feet they would stop and look back, as they began to adjust to this new illumination, now being able to see, then they began to approach, coming closer, noticing things about the world and themselves that they had never seen before. They were examining their hands, feet, hair… they could see the grass and they marveled in the richness of the color and for the first time seeing creation through the Light of God’s Glory.

It was again in this moment that I knew that just by one person “turning on” and being filled with His Spirit, Glory and Radiance, that without so much as a word spoken, others began to see through the darkness. As those people stepped closer their candles began to spark with a violent fervor as if touching positive and negative battery cables together while they were attached to a battery. It spread like a wildfire and I could hear the screeching screams of the beast coming in with the winds, causing the little lights to flicker to the point of almost putting them out. Yet as long as they were close to the amazing beam of Light coming from His Spirit within me, they would spark and jump off, trying desperately to “Turn On”.

Writing out Tien’s age in years and months reminds me telling Tien’s age in months and weeks. How time flies!

I look into his eyes and see him so full of life.

I don’t feel so full of life at all. I know what I feel is not reality, but how I feel inside is quite sad.

I feel limited in my ability to have enough energy to give to him. Maybe other Moms feel this way, but I am not sure of it. Say for instance, When I had to take a nap, I woke up to him trying to get my attention. Still in a fog from sleep, I woke up grumpy and slightly on edge.

It took me hearing Tien whine to get motivated enough to do something with him. He wanted to go play outside, so I got up and got him the soccer ball he had wanted to play with for him. Tien and his cousin played a while outside. They went from playing in the dirt and rocks with little construction sets to swinging to sliding down the slide.

Tien has grown so much. He is a risk taker. He was hold the swinging teeter totter as he stood up, and he began trying to swing on it as he stood. I was going to freak out seeing him do that, but I chose to let him take those risks he smiled with pride over finding out he can do it.

There was one big scare. Tien was on the slide and stood up at the top, and after I told him to sit down he did so. He slid down the slide and stumbled a bit. When he stumbled as he stood up, Tien fell forward and almost busted his head open. I was so thankful he did not get hurt. I couldn’t imagine the hurt I would feel if he had hurt himself.

Later on, I made him and his cousin dinner outside to eat on their little picnic table. They were so full of laughter and jokes as they ate. It was very cute to see them interacting with one another. I was on the edge of my seat almost trying to get them to be quiet and keep on eating so their food would be warm, if not hot, to eat. I did say a couple times for them to eat and not talk so much, but then I lightened up and just watch the two little boys talk amongst theirselves. It was nice to watch.

It was a nice day spent savoring the moments we had together today. I don’t know about other parents, but I am finding myself lucky to have each moment. One hope I have for my growing as a parent is for me to believe that Tien thinks I am the best Mom in the world for him. I honestly love him with all of my heart and soul.
