Little-Known Hole Lets Attacker Hit Main Website Domain Vie Its Subdomains

Because of how browsers handle cookies hackers have the ability to attack a domain through a respective domain’s subdomain.

DNS maintains records on the main domain name. Organizations have control over this domain. However, a subdomain does not have authority to change to the top domain.

Broadband Goals Proposed in Minnesota

A Minnesotan task force looking to improve the state’s standing in broadband access from 24th to the top 5 has unveiled a plan that could be a model for a nationwide broadband plan.

The move from 24th to within the top 5 states could move the state to national and global leadership in economic growth and increased quality-of-life opportunities.

Studies illustrate that for every $1 spent towards broadband expansion yields at least $10 in economic growth.

This is a notice for all people around the globe that have a free the.cat subdomain through afraid.org.
I just want you to say that quite soon the current subdomains may be cancelled as I will be using the.cat as my primary website through a new web hosting service.

I am not sure what will happen and it is for certain that I am quite interested in using the.cat as a main domain and my new hosting maybe makes me leave afraid.org.

Unfortunately, as you may now, Google does not follow the.cat subdomains (except the ones created by me) so that I do not know how many subdomains I have.

I imagine I could look at the queue at afraid.org but there are too many subdomains in use and quite often with no content or out of order so the task is cumbersome.

Anyway, you always can put here your the.cat subdomain and a new url so that, in case, your subdomain does not work quite soon, people can find you!

There are several well known methods of making money online today, but Cost per Action or CPA is the most famous among them all. People have been making use of the traditional affiliate programs for quite some time now. It has also evolved as an outstanding method of making money and been gaining popularity day by day. One of the biggest advantages for making money online thru CPA is that you are able to make money even for generating leads.

Here it’s not important for the visitor to buy the product, even if the person is interested in the product and is ready to give his contact details, your commission is guaranteed. In case, if the lead converts into a sale, you are able to make additional money for yourself.

This clearly implies that in comparison to traditional affiliate marketing, these networks have higher conversion rates. It is quite obvious that people usually think twice before making the decision of giving up their credit card details on the internet. Instead giving your contact details on the internet is comparatively much easier. Although, the amount that you get paid for generating the lead is quite less as compared to making traditional affiliate sale, but the higher conversion rate, clearly compensates for this.

Anyone who is seriously interested in making money online, should certainly consider the option of going ahead with CPA network. However, you cannot simply sign up for that network and start promoting, you the internet marketer have to get approved by the affiliate manager of the CPA network thru a short application process. In fact, it is quite imperative that get approved by the specific CPA network that you sign up for, before you actually get on to making money through it.

If you are one of the successful internet marketers, it is certainly not difficult to get approved by any of these. However, most important is that you should be able to answer all the necessary questions by the visitors and at the same time keep in touch with the owner. Therefore, if you are seriously interested in making money through this, it is essential for you to do some initial research.

There is no denial to the fact, that you are interested in making real big money online, and then CPA networking cannot be avoided. If you follow the right rules and instruction, this method is a great source of making internet riches!

Since this is the first large project I have had a back-end focus I have been learning a lot. Here is some of the stuff I picked up this week.

to fix uncommitted mess ups: git reset –hard HEAD and more undoing in git

to edit the host file on os x in terminal type sudo nano /etc/hosts, enter admin password, make modifications, and then ctrl-o to save and ctrl-x to exit.

subdomin-fu is a great help, along with this railscast on subdomains

Are there any benefits in using subdomains for the purpose of website search optimisation? The answe

Are there any benefits in using subdomains for the purpose of website search optimisation?

The answer is yes, but with a few reservations. A subdomain is a domain that is part of a larger domain. For example “serivces.seo.com” is a subdomain of the “seo.com”. At present, a maximum of two results can appear for a domain in the top 10. There is one exception that applies only to major portals such as Amazon, Ebay, About.com etc.

Search Engine Land advice is to use subdomains when you have very disparate content that you feel searchers would feel relevant. For instance, if you have a travel site, it may make sense to use subdomains to categorize cities. Recommending further that for each search query that you want to list, make sure that you have one or two pages that you most want to rank for those terms and focus on optimizing those with keywords, anchor text, and links. Know that every page on your site won’t rank for each query, so decide which are the most relevant

They only print what is necessary, eat more home cooked meals rather than eating out, recycle everything they can, and more. Green Geeks is a company that cares about the environment. However, how is their web hosting?

Green Geeks has a web hosting plan that gives you anything you’d need for your new site. It costs $6.95 per month for one year. However, if you sign up for two years, the price is only $4.95 per month. This hosting plan comes with:

Yes, we are again on our domain. After experiencing with Mocha Quest, we are quite comfortable with Random Toxic.com. However, there are a few things I don’t like about having a domain in WordPress.

First, they don’t allow subdomains. Then, the support and guide are so little. I noticed that although I have upgrade with USD15 for the domain, I still can’t change my theme(according to what I like because I can’t assess the FTP files). I still can’t use javascript, I can’t change the permalinks, blah blah blah.

Everything remains the same(limited usage) and just my domain changes. That’s a really lame hosting package. I am deeply upset with WordPress for not offering more than that. I would rather pay more(but not more than USD100 per year) for unlimited access.

Just for your info, I might change my hosting again(I can hear some grumbles from you) because I can’t live without Plugins and My Desired Themes.

Oh, so you can just type in randomtoxic.com in your address bar and you will redirected to here. So, hawks…if you got any ideas and tips on how to work this WordPress Domain thing, share them with me…!

As I outlined in my previous post on using Mono with FastCGI and Nginx, I’m hosting multiple A

As I outlined in my previous post on using Mono with FastCGI and Nginx, I’m hosting multiple ASP.Net applications with Mono. I already have Nginx configured to automatically direct subdomains of quickpm.net to the fastcgi-mono-server2 program using the fastcgi protocol.

I also have the fastcgi-mono-server2 configured using the following options
fastcgi-mono-server2 /applications=cmd.quickpm.net:/:/usr/local/nginx/html/cmd.quickpm.net,quickpm.net:/:/usr/local/nginx/html/quickpm.net /socket=tcp:127.0.0.1:9000

To quickply explain, the /applications argument is setting the cmd.quickpm.net domain to be served by the directory /usr/local/nginx/html/cmd.quickpm.net, and the other sites are set to their respective directories. The /socket option is telling fastcgi-mono-server2 to listen using the tcp protocol on port 9000 of the local host.

My only problem is that adding new subdomains is not automatic. If I want to add a new subdomain to my website I have to shutdown the mono fastcgi server and restart it with the subdomain added to the /applications argument, I could use a config file instead of the command line option but the point is I have to shut the server down and restart it to add subdomains. I want avoid doing this. What I want is an option like the following /applications=%1.quickpm.net:/:/usr/local/nginx/html/%1.quickpm.net so all subdomains are automatically handled.

The only way to do what I want, I believe, is to patch the mono xsp2 source code.

Defining Subdomains for Local Development When you begin developing an application using subdomains,

Defining Subdomains for Local Development

When you begin developing an application using subdomains, you need to move beyond using http://locahost:3000 as we need to be able to develop and test with subdomains. You can open up your
/etc/hosts
(within a Unix-based O/S) file and add the following.

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 lifestyle.dev
127.0.0.1 life2go.lifestyle.dev
127.0.0.1 vitalzeu.lifestyle.dev

This will let you make request to http://lifestyle.dev:3000 and http://life2go.lifestyle.dev:3000
It's important to remember that the subdomain must be specified here to work for local requests.
Unfortunately hosts file dont support wild cards(*).

Detecting Subdomains in Rails

In the application.rb file add this line to find subdomains
@subdomains = request.subdomains.first

The subdomains method isn't particularly smart, all it does is splitting on.and returning all but the
last two parts. So to get it to work in development then you will need to have the same number
of parts to your domain as you will in production.
So if you'd have life2go.lifestyle.com in production then you will need to have three part domain
names in development too, so something like life2go.lifestyle.dev mapped to your 127.0.0.1 address.

Take a look at the doco for more information.

The request.subdomains.first will work both in production and development environments.

I have received recent word from Felweb: The password core has been restored so you can now access y

I have received recent word from Felweb:

The password core has been restored so you can now access your accounts. If you changed the password just try with both password and one of them will work. This applies also for emails, ftp accounts and databases.

So, at this time, your cPanel and FTP account access should be fully functional. Remember to connect to the new IP address, 69.162.119.146, if you are connecting via IP. As your subdomain is not working yet, you will need to use this. For cPanel:

http://69.162.119.146:2082/

For FTP, enter 69.162.119.146 as your hostname. Check to make sure your files are restored correctly on the server, and let me know if there are any problems.

If you have a domain, your website should be fully functional at this time.

Unfortunately, those with subdomains have a small wait. This is nothing to do with Felweb. It’s related to the way our DNS is set up. The current system does not allow changes to existing ‘zones’, meaning we can’t change the subdomains to point to the new server. For the past month, I’ve been working on a new system, which should come online within the next hour or so. (I spent 8 hours on it yesterday alone. DNS is such a pain…)

Your websites, however, will take up to 2 days to be fully visible through propagation, just as they would if you were to change where an individual domain pointed. If you want to view your website ASAP, I recommend setting up Open DNS, which is free. Basically, it tells your computer where to find the server, instead of waiting for your ISP to update their records.

After this period, your DNS will respond more reliably than before, meaning your website will be visible to more people, more often. I know many users have reported troubles in this area. In addition, you will have control over your own subdomains. This has been tested to fully work. See for yourself our test page:

http://myg8.ismyhost.com/

While writing this post, I have just received a successful run of my DNS updating script, so we should be online again very very soon.

For work I need to setup one domain with multiple subdomains. The basic idea for the website is the

For work I need to setup one domain with multiple subdomains. The basic idea for the website is the same as Fog Bugz, in that it’s a web hosted app. And each customer has their own site e.g. johnny.quickpm.net would be johhny’s site.

For the technology side we use ASP.Net Web forums for the actual software, that is johnny.quickpm.net is running an instance of Asp.net WebForms on Mono. But for the main site quickpm.net I want to run ASP.Net MVC since I like the MVC model and mono now (mostly) supports ASP.Net MVC in the current daily builds.

For the server software I’m using Nginx and the Mono FastCGI interface. The important configuration bits are
nginx.conf

#user  nobody;
worker_processes  1;

#error_log  logs/error.log;
#error_log  logs/error.log  notice;
#error_log  logs/error.log  info;

#pid        logs/nginx.pid;

events {
    worker_connections  1024;
}

http {
    include       mime.types;
    default_type  application/octet-stream;

    #log_format  main  '$remote_addr - $remote_user [$time_local] $request '

    #                  '"$http_user_agent" "$http_x_forwarded_for"';

    #access_log  logs/access.log  main;

    sendfile        on;
    #tcp_nopush     on;

    #keepalive_timeout  0;
    keepalive_timeout  65;

    #gzip  on;

    server {
        listen       80;
        server_name  localhost *.quickpm.net;
	root /usr/local/nginx/html/$host;
        #charset koi8-r;

        access_log  logs/access.log;
	location / {
		 root /usr/local/nginx/html/$host/;
	 	 index index.html index.htm index.aspx default.aspx Default.aspx;
		 fastcgi_index Default.aspx;
		 fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000;
		 fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /usr/local/nginx/html/$host$fastcgi_script_name;
	 	 include ../conf/fastcgi_params;
	 }

        #location / {
        #    root   html;
	#    index index.html index.html index.aspx default.aspx Default.aspx;
        #}

        #error_page  404              /404.html;

        # redirect server error pages to the static page /50x.html
        #
        error_page   500 502 503 504  /50x.html;
        location = /50x.html {
            root   html;
        }

    }
}

To run the mono fastcgi server use

fastcgi-mono-server2 /applications=cmd.quickpm.net:/:/usr/local/nginx/html/cmd.quickpm.net,quickpm.net:/:/usr/local/nginx/html/quickpm.net /socket=tcp:127.0.0.1:9000

Doing the above results in quickpm.net resolving to /usr/local/nginx/html/quickpm.net and cmd.quickpm.net resolving to /usr/local/nginx/html/cmd.quickpm.net also mono will serve the two directories as two separate ASP.Net Applications.

ausführlich  unter:

http://www.easymodrewrite.com/example-subdomains

—-

This code should be placed in the htaccess file in the root of your domain, i.e. domain.com/.htaccess

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
Options  +FollowSymLinks
Options +Indexes
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase  /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !www.domain.com$ [NC]
RewriteCond  %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?([a-z0-9-]+).domain.com [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) %2/$1  [L]
</IfModule>

The IfModule wrapper ensures we only execute this code if the mod_rewrite module is enabled. See portability notes for more information.

Inside the IfModule, the first four lines are discussed and explained in Start Rewriting (part one). All we are doing is ensuring we are ready to rewrite.

We use two RewriteConds to first ensure we are not on the main domain and second capture the subdomain into a backreference. We are including an optional www. and this, is present will be in the %1 backreference, otherwise %1 will be empty. Our second set of parenthesis will match the subdomain, and so we capture that value into the backreference %2.

We then do the RewriteRule – how you do this is up to you. I have chosen here to turn a request for http://pie.domain.com/page.html into http://www.domain.com/pie/page.html.

The domain name RealEstateSearch.com is being sold. This is a high quality domain name. So, let

The domain name RealEstateSearch.com is being sold. This is a high quality domain name. So, let’s look at what impact a domain name like that would have on ranking in Google. And, how you could leverage your investment.

According to the Google Adwords traffic estimator, consumers type the keywords in this domain name “real estate search” 9 million times each month into the Google search.

If you bought these keywords, this would result in roughly 240,000 consumer visits each month to your website nationally. Based on the cost of keywords, this would be quite an investment.

So the question becomes how does Google “natural” or “organic” search handle the domain name “realestatesearch.com”?

Recently at a search marketing meeting the discussion was about SEO. Google engineers confirmed that Google does look at the domain name keywords as it factors the relevance of the match.

Google places the exact match site nearly always at the top or at least in the top 10 of search results. Type in the keywords from your own domain name and you will see this demonstrated.

For those who understand “subdomains”, this would also work if the consumer typed in “Boise real estate search” and the domain was localized using subdomains; so the domain name would read: boise.realestatesearch.com.

There would be no argument that being at the top of the search result is one of the challenges of search engine optimization. Because, 89% of Google clicks occur on that first page.

So with the right search engine optimization you can feel good that you made it to page one. Let me close by telling you what research into actual search records showed could happen if you made it to the top spot. You could experience as much as a 1,400% in traffic by ranking #1.

My counsel is to pick your domain name carefully so to match the keywords your targeted audience would most likely be using. And use more than one domain name to target your potential clients more specifically.
