Het Vlaams parlement heeft woensdag een gouden erepenning uitgereikt aan Will Tura, Raymond Van het Groenewoud, Dirk Brossé en Tom Barman. Deze vier artiesten werden gelauwerd omdat ze zich verdienstelijk hebben gemaakt in de hedendaagse muziek.
et Vlaams parlement reikte eerder al gouden erepenningen uit voor economie, beeldende kunst, wetenschap, literatuur en sport. Ditmaal koos het Vlaams parlement voor het thema “hedendaagse muziek”.
Will Tura staat al ruim 50 jaar op de planken. In 1962 scoorde hij zijn eerste hit met “Eenzaam zonder jou”, later volgde een onafgebroken reeks hits waaronder “Draai 797204″, “Arme Joe” en “Hemelsblauw”.
Raymond Van het Groenewoud zit al 38 jaar in het vak. Hij brak door in 1977 met “Meisjes” en bouwde intussen een groot en zeer gevarieerd repertoire op.
Componist Dirk Brossé schreef een groot repertoire symfonische en kamermuziek bijeen, maar raakte vooral bekend door zijn filmmuziek en musicals. Hij schreef de muziek voor meer dan 20 films, waaronder “Daens”.
Tom Barman is vooral bekend als frontman van de groep dEUS, die in 1994 internationaal doorbrak met “Suds en Soda”. Barman was ook de gangmaker achter de 0110-concerten voor meer verdraagzaamheid.
