Today after successfully finding all 10 penguins all over Runescape and the polar bear I got 73 Summoning! I can now summon Obsidian Golems my original idea was to use them for Mining but I was to, excited to put it, to wait and started mining. On the topic of Mining I also got 79 out of 3 hours of work this morning. I have some plans this month to get more Farming levels and I think I may head back to Ape Atoll to finish some unfinished business…

On a totally different note I bought myself an early birthday present looks nice and I also mine like a beast now . To be honest I am KINDA happy to be done with Mining it took a lot less time than I thought but its over done its stay, I should get 80 tonight or tomorrow. I will make sure to keep everyone who has been keeping up with my blog have the joy of reading more this week.

My star, I saw it high and far
At the parting of the ways
A light on the edge of the outer night
Like silver set ablaze
Where the round world plunges steeply down
But on the old roads goes
As an unseen bridge that on arches runs
To coasts that no man knows

I would not find the burning domes and sands
Nor seek in mountains dark the hidden lands
Of men long lost to whom no pathway goes

But where they bloom those flowers fair
In what air or land they grow
What words beyond the world I heard
If you would seek for know

In a boat then, brother, far afloat
You must labour in the sea
And find yourself things out of mind:
You will learn no more of me

Background: Second blurb assignment for my creative writing class. Started out thinking how I could

Background: Second blurb assignment for my creative writing class. Started out thinking how I could pull of a demon summoning, and though I don’t think this one was QUITE the greatest, I think it works. We were supposed to write about cruelty that was not meant. I think I failed the prompt.

—

He traces the lines of the pentagram slowly, methodically. The book in front of him guides him slowly, not just by the material, but by some unseen force. His master’s doing, no doubt. He knows that the lines must be perfect. His master has taught him this. Seconds melt into minutes, then to hours. A bead of sweat drops from his forehead and luckily misses the carefully drawn chalk circle nearby. He blinks as his concentration is wavered by this distraction, and wipes off his face.

“Nine years old, a year early to the Academy, and you’re already making pentagrams, Rikar?” Rikar turns toward the voice and sees another young boy standing in the doorway.

“Yeah. Master wants me to practice my pentagrams.”

The other boy chuckles. “You don’t need practice. You’ve already a professional. I think Master wants to watch you and learn.” This comment makes Rikar smile. The two had started being friends when they had both arrived to the Academy a year younger than the rest of their class. “Maybe you should summon something.”

Rikar looked at his friend confused. “We’re only allowed to summon Newts. Nothing more, David.”

David shrugged. “Trust me. I got this name from a Fourth. It’s just an Imp.”

Rikar decided to just do it. He knew he could handle an Imp, tho he fingered his twisted wand of fire in his pocket just to boost his confidence. He dusted some silver around the edges of the pentagram, and a little sprinkle of salt and gold. He didn’t have enough to completely ward his summoning circle, but he had enough to scare the Imp.

Using an old incantation from the Manual of Summoning and the Imp’s name, he began to call the demon-fey.

The ground began to rumble, and then in a poof of fire and smoke, a demon sat cross-legged on the floor in front of the kids. The Imp that was supposed to appear was instead a Hellfire Demon, one of the demon lords of the 8th circle of hell. The kids took a shocked step back.

The demon looked down at the obviously scared kids and chuckled inwardly. These kids were barely 10 circles old. He tested the edges of the circle mentally and found no gap, the kids were good. “You dare disturb my slumber?” He roared.

Rikar cowered for a second before forcing himself to gain composure. It was just a demon. And it was trapped. He could handle it.

“Yes I did, demon.”

The demon realized the fear and knew he could use it against the kid in the too-small robes in front of him. “Well, then, master. What do you ask of me? I will do anything for you.”

Rikar’s chest swelled as the kid began to feel confident. “Demon, what services do you have to offer me? Answer or I shall punish you.”

The Hellfire Demon choked back a hearty laugh. He had suffered lifetimes of torture at the hands of sorcerers around the world. One kid would be able to do very little in the way of harming him, if at all. He smelled the air for magic, and found only the slight aura around they boys and a barely stronger charm hidden in a wand. A wand of fire. These boys had no weapons.

“I will grant you one wish, for that is all the power I have for the day, master,” the demon said, feigning reluctance and shrinking in size a little.

“If that is all you can do, demon, then it will be enough. I want you to ruin the life of the one who gave me your name. That fourth year.”

The demon grinned. The kid had forgotten the biggest rule of playing with demons: Don’t wish for things that could be interpreted differently than meant. The kid had wished for the life of a the person who gave him the name of the demon to be ruined? Well, that had been the fourth year, yes, but…

With a sweep of his clawed hands, the Hellfire Demon cast a spell of infernal flame, which rushed across the room around Rikar to engulf David, the other kid who had given Rikar the name. And then the demon disappeared into a cloud of smoke and brimstone.

Starting a new character in DAoC has never been easier with all these new expansions. It is much eas

Starting a new character in DAoC has never been easier with all these new expansions. It is much easier to level a pet friendly class with a heal over time bot than to level any other character. For midgard you would use a spiritmaster specced into summoning, for hibernia you can use an enchanter and for albion a necromancer. These pets are able to take down much more mobs than the average toon. With a heal over time bot or a buff bot they can take down 5-10 mobs at once. Keep in mind it is much faster if you leveled a power level bot and a buff bot then level your main rvr toons after.

With a buffed summoning pet you can take down 5-10 yellow con buff mobs with a few heals or heal overtime. If you’re pet is master level 9 you can take down even more. I have done about 30-40 yellow con mobs with a heal over time. The ideal place is level at is passage of conflict or task dungeons. I prefer Passage of conflict because of the respec stones that drops along with decent rog loot. Passage of conflict also gives out much higher experience points than the average zones and task dungeons.

You can make about 10 plat leveling a new character from 1-50. If respec stones drop, you can probably sell them for 1 to 2 extra plats. I usually get about 5 from leveling a character 1 to 50. I normally stop power leveling at level 47 in which you are then able to get the free level to 48. After getting to level 48 I prefer to quest for the rest of the experience. From 48 you can do the necklace quest in which you should be able to get 48 and a half. After hitting 48.5 you can do the commander quests in your capital cities. That should be able to get you to 49.5 and it only takes about 1 hour to complete them all.

From 49.5 I would start joining raids for master levels or artifact credits. You can even start rvring as well. Getting to 50 should be easy considering you have so many other stuff that you can do. Personally I would just go out to rvr, collect bounty points and buy whatever credit I need, which are usually master level credits & artifact credits. Keep in mind, it takes about 60 hours of play time to get to 50, but for a pet summoning class it would take maybe 24 hours. Having an additional class such as a summoning class can help with farming plat and items. Good luck and enjoy.

Complaining… Always complaining… ‘don’t fix what isn’t broken!’

Complaining… Always complaining… ‘don’t fix what isn’t broken!’ – ‘one million wc capes by x-mas!’ STOP COMPLAINING ALLREADY?

When is a skill broken? Is it broken when a lot of people don’t like it, or don’t see a reason to train it? In that case Summoning would be broken. So many people still ignore the skill, have extremely low levels in it… However, for me, it is one of my all time favourites, and most used skills. How come there are so many misconceptions about this skill? Is it too complicated? Not as far as I can see. You need higher levels for the good familairs, but don’t all skills give the good things at higher levels? The good slayer creatures require a high level, the best potions require high herblore, the nicest rooms require high construction, the best spells high magic, the best logs the highest woodcutting… Even, when looking at experience rates, the highest items commonly also give the fastest experience – which is only natural. Why would a low level’d item give faster experience then a high level’d one?

Most people would agree with me on this – even tho again most people don’t use these fastest ways. Not a lot of people barrage their magic xp, make rune items for smithing xp, or make mahogany items for construction. And before the recent fishing and mining updates, most people were training on low fish they baited fast, or low ores that mined swiftly. Jagex fixed that, and it came with plenty rewards. New food, fast ores, great fishing experience… However, with yesterdays woodcutting update they also fixed part of the skill. They added new ways of training for ‘higher’ levels. (I’m beeing sceptic about the high-level-part, because in my opinion, level 80 isn’t quite high) Yet, with these new ways, only came experience. A high level way of training, with more experience then before. But besides experience, no other rewards.

What we need to considder is this: do we need an high rewarding and high experience way of training? People would only ever complain it was too good, right?

A long story short. A skill is ‘broken’ when you need to do low level actions to train effectively on high levels. If then, a way is added to do train effectively with high options, but without reward, is it still broken? Not unless the skill allready has high level rewarding options, but was lacking in the experience part. In my opinion, woodcutting was broken. They fixed it. We have two high experience options at level 68 and 80, and a good money maker at 75; mage logs.

I rest my case
