Programme du jour : Ecole et crèche.

 

Je me réveille presque en même temps que Maman, alors je lis un peu dans ma chambre, le temps qu’elle sorte de la salle de bain. Je m’habille et vais réveiller Papa. Nous déjeunons tous ensemble. Je pousse mon record de « je traine à la maison » et nous partons pour l’école il est presque 7h40.

Rassurez-vous, j’arrive à l’heure car le trafic est fluide. 13h30, je sors du cathé et Maman me dépose à la crèche.

18h15, elle me récupère, je veux finir mon puzzle et ne veux pas laisser ma copine Sydney toute seule, j’attends donc que sa maman arrive pour partir de la crèche. Nous partons ensuite au Proxi avec Maman pour acheter deux, trois bricoles dont de quoi faire un gâteau pour Thanksgiving (Maman travaille dans une entreprise américaine et la société organise un gouter).

Nous arrivons à la maison vers 19h20, je mange un beau plat de pâtes au fromage et me régale d’un tiramisu en dessert. Une fois mon estomac rempli, je prends ma douche et me prépare pour aller me coucher. Deux chansons, une bonne dose d’éclats de rire et me voici au lit vers 20h10. Rédacteur : Aurélia, ma Maman.

Encore une journée qui s’annonce sous les meilleurs augures, je vais surement réaliser un sans faute cette semaine. Je déjeune avec Maman, et prépare mon “gouter” que je terminerai dans la voiture, comme tous les jours de la semaine lorsque Maman s’occupe de moi (c’est la fête). Nous passons un moment très agréable et trainons un peu.

J’arrive à l’école  un peu avant 7h45, embrasse bien fort Maman , verse une petite larme lorsqu’elle doit partir, mais retrouve vite le sourire lorsque que ma copine Trinity me réconforte.

12h30, elle vient me chercher, je vais ensuite à la crèche pour le reste de l’après midi. 18h00 Maman est de retour, nous allons visiter un appartement ce soir. Le petit 2 chambres de 110m2, (taille normale de ce type d’appartement à Luxembourg) que nous visitons me conquit, nous emménagerons le 10 Décembre.

Comme vous le savez, le 15 décembre nous déménageons. Papa dans une nouvelle maison à quelques minutes de la ville, et Maman avec Damien dans cet appartement. J’aurai donc une chambre dans chaque foyer, et passerai une semaine avec Papa, et une semaine avec Maman.

Pour fêter cela, nous déjeunons chez Damien. Pendant que la pizza cuit, je continue d’explorer mes talents de dessinateur. Je mange sans soucis, rigole beaucoup et suis une adorable petite fille. Nous partons, pour la maison vers 20h15, je serai au lit un peu après 20h30. Rédacteur : Aurélia, ma Maman.

Rabi sowing picks up in State

Rabi sowing picks up in State:

The recent rain in several parts of Karnataka seem to be playing a key role in rabi sowing with farmers going in for large-scale coverage of jowar, Bengal gram and sunflower, particularly in the northern districts.

As sowing is in progress, data from the Agriculture Ministry shows that rabi crops were sown on 27.05 lakh hectares of land accounting for 73 per cent progress against the target of 37 lakh hectares as on November 18.

Sowing of maize, wheat, Bengal gram and sunflower continued in the northern districts while transplanting of paddy and sowing of black gram was in progress in parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.

Bengal gram has been sown on 8.78 lakh hectares of land against 7.67 lakh hectares during the corresponding period last year, while jowar, the major rabi crop, has been sown on 9.25 lakh hectares, wheat on 1.9 lalkh hectares, and sunflower on 2.90 lakh hectares.

Overall coverage of pulses such as Bengal gram, horse gram, black gram, green gram, cowpea and avare stood at 9.93 lakh hectares against the coverage of 8.99 lakh hectares last year.

However, the area under cereals — rice, jowar, ragi,maize, wheat, and minor millets — trails at 12.32 lakh hectares against 14.39 lakh hecatres during the corresponding period last year.

In order to step up the regulatory grip on commodity derivatives market, Forward Markets Commission (FMC) has recently instructed bourses to ensure compliance of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2002 (PMLA) by their members.

“This is more of a pre-emptive step to prevent unscrupulous money coming into our (commodity futures) market,” BC Khatua, chairman, FMC, said.

Sugar output may beat estimates “Survey”:

Sugar production in India, the world’s second-largest grower, may be 11 percent more than estimated after farmers boosted planting and yields improved because of increased fertiliser use.

Output may jump to 17.68 million metric tonne in the season started Oct. 1, according to interviews with 631 farmers across six states by Geneva-based SGS SA for Bloomberg.

Some areas of a painting require many layers of color. I make sure to allow time (at least a few days, but sometimes it can even be weeks) for each layer to dry. If I add too many colors of paint at one time it all starts to blend together into a muddy mess, and you loose the clearness of colors that give my oil paintings their vibrancy.

I did a little more work painting the center of this sunflower.

After adding some highlights to the center, I painted the shadows using dark brown and navy blue.

“Sophia” means wisdom…interesting.  I’ve always liked the name, Sophia, but it sounds so pretty and light.  It would make more sense if it meant ”flower”, or “puppy”.

But, come to think of it, there is a world of wisdom captured in the scent of a rose and in the soft, furry caress of a puppy.  Both share the wisdom that God is real, and good….that He is. 

The expanded definition of Sophia includes, “skill in the affairs of life, practical wisdom, wise management as shown in forming the best plans…”

Oh Father, may Sophia be my middle name?   Gloris Knows-the-Best-Plan.  It’s kinda long, but I like it.

Right now my studio looks like a field of Sunflowers! I’m working on a series of five oil paintings — each of a different sunflower. This particular sunflower is from a photo I took in the gardens at Furman University in Greenville, SC. If you’ve never been to this campus, you’d be amazed at how lovely the grounds are. You can expect to see more paintings from me in the future that are inspired from around the campus.

I'm getting ready to work on the middle of this sunflower. I want to capture the texture I saw on the real flower.

Here's another photo of the same painting, showing how I've painted in the middle. I need to let this dry for a few days before doing anything else to it or the colors will get all muddy.

La semaine n’est pas exceptionnelle. Je me réveille un peu avant 7h, je m’habille en faisant la bouille mais finis par sourire après une petite explication avec Maman. Je réveille ensuite Papa. Nous descendons déjeuner, je bois mon lait puis mets le reste de mon petit déjeuner (2 cookies, mes vitamines, une barre de céréale et une pompote) dans un petit sac plastique. C’est un peu un rituel, avec Maman je peux manger dans la voiture alors j’en profite.

Nous arrivons à l’école vers 7h45, un gros bisou et je suis en classe.

13h30 Maman vient me chercher pour la crèche, je suis adorable et vais chez les Bluebells, le sourire aux lèvres.

18h30, elle vient me chercher, nous rentrons passons par le Proxi, achetons quelques courses puis rentrons à la maison.

Je suis plutôt gentille jusqu’au moment de prendre ma douche, où je décide, comme souvent, de faire un petit scandale. La douche est donc rapide, Maman me met en pyjama et je me retrouve au lit à 20h. Rédacteur : Aurélia, ma Maman.

Sunflower Seeds, 2009

My my my, has time flown by.

The land has taught me a lot this year. I am still the same but my pace has changed so much– especially this year. Sowing and growing has taught me so much more about patience and how to nurture life. I have come to realize how much I notice the seasons so much more… and how important this balance means for all of us here on this blue and green planet.

Someone suggested to me that we make panels spherical to increase surface area and solar energy production. that won’t work because half of the sphere will be covered by sun and half by shadow. I think it’s better idea to make existing solar panels rotate with the movement of the sun like sunflowers do. follow the sun and stay constantly exposed to the most productive angle.

Je me réveille assez tôt, Maman est sous sa douche. Je suis plutôt sympa et prends mon petit déjeuner sans problème.

Je fais un bisou à Papa, puis file dans la voiture et à l’école. 7h45, je suis dans ma classe.

Maman vient me chercher à 12h30 pile, puis nous allons à la crèche. Je lui fais un gros câlin. Elle reviendra un peu moins de 6h plus tard.

J’ai passé une bonne après midi. Nous rentrons à la maison, je fais un bisou à Papa, puis descends manger. C’est là que tout se gâte, je ne veux pas manger mes pâtes, pleure pour un rien. Maman expédie donc un peu le reste de la soirée, je prends ma douche à toute vitesse. Il est 19h30 lorsque je m’endors après quelques chansons et de gros câlins. Rédacteur : Aurélia, ma Maman.

Sunshine Flowers

Still have to id this plant that was growing on the edge of a field. Could be a weed but not likely. The entire plant seems to spread and grow up to 25 feet high. Found an offshoot and attempting to grow in my yard.

My newest oil paintings are Sunflowers! When I’m though, there will be five square paintings that each measure 24″ x 24″. They are all in various stages of progress… as shown in the photo below:

Here are a few photos of the progress I made when I was painting in my studio today.

I painted the sky a couple of weeks ago. I waited until this background dried before beginning the flowers so that the blue and yellow didn't bleed into each other.

I spent about 30 minutes mixing up the paint before I began painting the petals.

I paint from top to bottom so that I can rest my hand on the canvas to support my hand when I'm painting small details.
