1 | I saw this polka dot Home Republic bedspread on the Adairs website on Friday and high-tailed it

1 | I saw this polka dot Home Republic bedspread on the Adairs website on Friday and high-tailed it to the Supa Centa Moore Park on Saturday to grab this bad boy. I just love how happy it is. The pic above is a media image, sadly, but once I have it on my bed and my side tables are decked out appropriately you’ll see full pics. Side note; the underside is aqua. Too good!

2 | It was my darling mother in law’s birthday on Tuesday so I grabbed her some Peter Alexander pyjamas (is there any other kind?) at Westfield Bondi Junction. Can I just say how much I love Peter Alexander’s diversification into so much more than just PJs? So smart! I headed to the best place for stationery and wrapping after that – kikki K – and got the goods gift wrapped. Cute huh? I love the floral paper and matching card.

3 | I love my local haven for homewares – Sky Parlour in Kensington (check out my store tour here) – and the girls do such an amazing job with their merchandising. I particularly loved this quote that sat outside the front door; it was very welcome on what was a rainy Saturday in Sydney. Don’t you love it too? It’s such an optimistic way to look at the world.

4 | Orson & Blake have a brand new pop-up store at the Supa Centre Moore Park where Terrace Outdoor Living used to be and oh-my-lord it is amazing. This cluster of green and blue bowls and plates happens to be in my fave colour palette and caught my eye as I was wandering past. I wanted to push a trolley up to the edge of the table and just sweep it all in!

5 | Shack continues to be the place I go to when I want to be overwhelmed by beautiful homewares and have a medic on standby for emergency resuscitation. This visit was no different. Not only did they stock this amazing yellow and grey arrangement in the way of jars and throws, but they stocked the talented Mr Jason Grant‘s new book, A Place Called Home. Love it!

6 | I can always count on Top3 By Design to give me a little bit of quirk and they never fail to deliver. Case in point – these cute-as-hell polar bear soft toys. Certainly not something you see regularly, I am in love with this mumma bear and baby bear combo. Get them for your kids, I beg of you. And if you don’t have kids, um, get them for yourself (there’s no shame in it!).

7 | I finally had the blissful experience of a store tour of Terrace Outdoor Living at their flagship store in Woollahra and good golly it was pretty breathtaking. The full blog post is coming up this week, but in the meantime get a load of these succulents. How lush are they? I need them in my low-maintenance garden ASAP!

Where does one start when it comes to describing Oz Design? While it’s been around as long as

Where does one start when it comes to describing Oz Design? While it’s been around as long as I have (30 years and still doesn’t look a day over 25!), in recent times it’s multiplied its amazement factor. When I walked into the Moore Park store for my exclusive tour, I almost needed the store manager, Joe, to slap me across the face to wake me out of my design-induced coma; the current range is that phenomenal.

The Tatler sofa above – in all its buttoned glory – is the first thing I saw when I walked in the door. It’s hands down my favourite sofa; a little retro, a little colourful and most certainly playful with the skattering of those cushions. It’s just one many pieces that channels a retro vibe. There’s loads of colour in the store at the moment and a lot of old-school art that’s celebrating a resurgence.

What’s not to love about the love clocks? I actually like the idea of having a few of them clustered together on a wall. You’ll also notice the faux plant; perfect for those of you (like myself) who aren’t too good at keeping greenery alive! Below, the industrial-style clock would fit right in on my dining room wall, and would even play well in an outdoor area if there was roofing overhead.

One look at the Upton sofa above (in Avanti Denim) and you can see why the team at Oz Design are the experts in Fabric. Containing some amazing bold and graphic patterns, their fabrics are sourced from across the globe, allowing you to really make a statement (the statement I would like to make is that I want that armchair!)

Besides the retro and playful pieces, Oz Design also stocks a range made from metals and other raw, earthy materials. It’s a great way to ground a room if it’s a little playful and adds a real point of interest. The bronzed mirrors above, which have been made to look aged, are a perfect example of this. The cages below are also a useful way to take the edge off bright and shiny furniture in a room and will add a real sense of balance (they’d look fabulous with large candles inside).

I can barely put into words how on-the-money Oz Design is in nailing my love for industrial design. Both the coffee table above and the light fixtures below make my decorator heart palpitate (call a medic!). They are my home decor dream come true and would make such an interesting conversation piece. The framed print below is also incredibly cute for all the lovers out there.

While retro-industrial (with a hint of second-hand) is truly my decorating style, I have to say the team excel when it comes to coastal. This range is perfection for those of you who dig the calming influence of a beach theme. Better still, none of it is too literal (no boats or bottles filled with sand here), so you can keep the zen vibe in your home without the obvious nods to nautical.

The Painter coffee table above – which comes in turquoise or white – is so nice with the textured cushions slotted underneath. It adds the warmth that a costal theme needs, and the pops of green, blue and grey are ideal to add interest without the colour clash. I also love when a furniture store adds an element of surprise by stocking something you’d never expect – and the tote bag below is a perfect example of this. I can see it hanging on a rustic ladder or industrial hook, holding wood or some rolled up newspapers.

It’s safe to say that I saved the best for last. This Nancy sofa – featured above and below – is a Chevron dream! I can’t get enough of Chevron at the moment and it’s popping up all over the place on cushions, vases and other decorator pieces. But why settle for scatters of Chevron when you can go all out and make a bold statement with an entire armchair?

For more info on the entire range, check out the Oz Design Website.

You might like to check out some of my other store tours here.

1 | My love affair for Adairs just keeps getting stronger – and these deer cushions confirm it

1 | My love affair for Adairs just keeps getting stronger – and these deer cushions confirm it; I love them, I want to marry them, I want to go for long walks on the beach with them. There’s a whole range of bedding featuring these deers, fittingly named the Birch Forest collection. Fact: they’re kind of a must for Autumn (and better still, there’s a Facebook competition running at the moment where you can win a set).

2 | I had to pop into the Terrace Outdoor Living pop-up store in the Moore Park Supa Centa one more time to soak up their amazing range of outdoor furniture before they closed. Their permanent store in Woollahra is still going strong, so you’ll be able to spot amazing pieces like this Acapulco chair teamed with the very retro tie-dye cushion. How I long to have something like this on my front deck!

3 | It turns out my old shower curtain had become a breeding ground for a strain of alien life form that was threatening to eat the cats, so I had to high-tail it to the best place I know for shower curtains – Freedom – to source a new one. The choice was obvious considering my love for colour; this amazing lollipop stripe curtain was the one and adds a nice sense of play to the morning shower routine.

4 | My Sunday stroll through Westfield Bondi Junction included a pit-stop at the place for all things kitchen (and so much more), Plenty Kitchen and Tableware. This cluster of wooden Mint Home serving utensils was a real eye-catcher and looks so nice against the white stone bowl, not to mention it being wrapped up in twine, which is something I am kind of obsessed with. Salad, anyone?

5 | My house is scattered with all sorts of whimsical objects that inject a real sense of play into my home life (every home needs a bit of play), so these Mr. Men cups from Myer are a great addition. I want to get a set of six, but I think I’ll get Mr Lazy to start, so I can hold it up on Sunday mornings when I don’t wish to do anything.

6 | I finally got to pop my head into Follow in Surry Hills at the weekend. I had been past it so many times in my car or on the bus and always loved the look of it. Now I know why. Granted, it has a lot of clothing for females, but there is an entire table dedicated to decorating and soft furnishings (full store tour coming soon – I hope) and these neon chevron cushions were a standout!

7 | Dear Freedom. I love you. Please have my children. I don’t know how else to sum up my love for them due to their recent release of this sixties collection. This is, of course, just some of what they have to offer, but get a load of how amazing it is. Love the buffet (very reminiscent of my own), love the Chevron print, love the black and white accessories. And that vase – bring it on! I absolutely adore every bit of it.

As my usual Sunday evening/Monday morning creative finds post was late (I was making cushions!), I’ve packed seven glorious finds into this weeks finds post; it’s 100% fat free so you can enjoy without any guilt.

1 | I’m about as fond of beige as I am of Chardonnay, so these pops of colour in cushion form from the amazing Missoni Home are what every couch craving a bright splash needs. I spotted this family in Myer in the Sydney CBD and love the pink and blue pops.

2 | If you’ve been paying careful attention, you would know all about my sick obsession with bird ornaments. Today I added a new addition to the family; he’s a little robin I have named Erwin. He’s only little but he loves big. I came across him for five dollars at a shop in the western suburbs – practically highway robbery!

3 | I picked up one of these gorgeous cards during my Humble Beginnings store tour at the weekend and was touched by the story of its creator, Karl Madderom. You can read more about this arty type here, but needless to say the collection of cards – each covered with amazing floral photography – is on my list of things to collect.

4 | Ok, so while the board itself is indeed fat free, the spread of cheeses you’re likely to display on this glorious Salt & Pepper board… maybe not so much. This dapper, circular board is prime real estate for the soft wheels of cheese I could happily marry and even tells you where to place each type – very helpful indeed!

5 | I do love a bit of industrial-come-vintage when it comes to my interior decorating and this combination I spotted in Oz Design in the Supa Centa Moore Park is pretty spot on when it comes to nailing my taste. Adore the lighting (would die for it to hang above my industrial-style coffee table) and would kill for the print (bank accounts says NO).

6 | We all have our fave little homewares stores and Shack in the Supa Centa Moore Park has to be one of mine. Get a load of these red-hot roosters on the country-style brekkie in bed tray, in what has to be one of the best ways to use red in a bedroom since my blog post on decorating with red!

7 | Shamless iPhone photo aside, this fitted black short-sleeve shirt from Topman is hands-down my fave to wear at the moment. Ever since Topman finally made the move to Sydney (I first fell in love with it during a trip to Melbourne) I have been going there regularly to bag great fashion. I just love the UK style influence!

The Australia day long weekend just occurred Down Under and despite the wet weather, herds of people

The Australia day long weekend just occurred Down Under and despite the wet weather, herds of people hit the shops. I (foolishly?) was one of them. But I had to go scope out what all the sales fuss was about at the Supa Centa Moore Park. Who else can you rely on to bring you this weekend’s top five?

1 | This little piggy definitely went to market! Howards Storage World stocks these very cute rubber piggy banks. The great honking snout comes right off so you can dip into your savings when you’re down to your last glass of wine (I didn’t say that). There are cow versions too – and both come in an array of colours – so you can add some whimsy and playfulness to even the most adult home.

2 | This Mercer + Reed Dream cushion ($20.95) caught my eye in the Adairs store window. The grey and yellow make an amazing colour combination (it’s no secret I love a splash of citrus). They also stock them in words Love, Laugh and Smile, so there’s a cushion for just about every mood (except bewildered – because nobody wants that on a cushion).

3 | Freedom Furniture have really stepped it up when it comes to their outdoor range. These yellow beach speaker radio boxes are perfect for an Aussie summer (not that I get to the beach very often) and would even play well in a retro kitchen or kids room – or a room in my house, for instance.

4 | It’s no secret that I am a big fan of decorating with bird ornaments, so this couple from Bed, Bath n’ Table really caught my eye. Clearly, based on the apparent rule that blue and green should never be seen, I’ve concluded these two are the rebellious type, don’t care what you think and will love who they wanna love.

5 | Thank you, Top 3 by Design; if I wasn’t already jealous on a daily basis that I don’t live in the coolest city in the world (Melbourne, that’s you!), then this amazing cushion from Make Me Iconic certainly did the trick! They had this bad boy displayed on a child’s bed, but step aside little one – this cushion would be just as amazing on an adult couch.

Firstly, who’s responsible for it being called it ‘Supa Centa’? What’s wrong

Firstly, who’s responsible for it being called it ‘Supa Centa’? What’s wrong with Es and Rs? What did those two little letters ever do wrong? And secondly, when a tired but enthusiastic pair of potential customers visit, can you not just supply them with what they want in the first 20 minutes of their arrival and wave them on their merry little way?

Clearly not.

We must have been in there for a good couple of hours, ducking in and out of what felt like hundreds of shops. After such incredible adverts on the telly, I expected so much more from the likes of Fantastic Furniture and Harvey Norman. Eventually, we cut our losses and trundled home in the rain.

This is not how I see my weekends panning out ahead of me when I gaze out of that Friday afternoon window.

Luckily the Friday night worked out just as planned… Meet Andy, drink with Andy, be drunk with Andy. Simple. Easy. No messing.

Why can’t shopping be more like that? Order what you want. Get what you asked for – preferably with a smile and a reasonable flash of cleavage. And go home happy.

Supa Centa, you could learn a lot from The Argyle.
