a mecca for anyone with a love of the sea.

genau hier bin ich gerade, und konnte vor begeisterung fuer diesen fleck des erdballes nicht anders als diejenigen die sich fuer die welt, meere, atemberaubende sceneries und surfen interessieren hiermit aufmeksam zu machen.

ich bin selbst kein surfer, mich hat die perfektion der natur hier uebermannt, und ich habe beim fotografieren liegend im nassen sand und voller montur, voellig die kaelte vergessen die mit dem sonnenuntergang kam.

schwarze straende, kraeftige, meeeeterlange wellen, und einen beach voller von der stroehmung samtweich und rund gespuelter hoelzer.

fuer die die es sind.. wird das hier sicher wirklich ein mecca sein.

ein erstklassiger sufspot und dabei auch noch eine kulisse zum ausflippen schoen.

	MAHIA PENINSULA is a surfing mecca situated on the sunny East Coast of the North Island, New Zealand, and includes some of the best waves and surf locations in New Zealand. Mahia has an excellent reputation for delivering reliable, consistent and high-quality surf in almost any weather conditions. A southerly swell rolls into Mahia Photo: CORY SCOTT Water temperatures in winter can get cold and a 3 – 4mm steamer with a hood is recommended. In the height of summer you can surf without a wetsuit although most surfers wear springsuits for those longer sessions. The Mahia Peninsula’s shape and geographical features mean that there is great diversity in the types of breaks and swell direction – with beach, point and reef breaks picking up swells from the north, east and south. Last Chance: SE-E-NE swells with W-SW offshores. Left and righthand reef breaks. Fast exciting surf, 3 to 10 feet, only for experienced surfers. Access over private land, leave NO rubbish. Tread carefully. No toilet. No Dogs. Secure your property. Mahanga: Beach break and left hand point break in SE-E-NE swells with W-SW offshores. Easy access. Toilet at beach. The Spit: A very full-on left hand barrel breaking off the end of a long natural rock spit. Only for experienced surfers. Extremely dangerous. Takes E and NE swells and S offshores. Best when big from 4ft to 12ft. Easy access from road. Mahia Reefs: Two adjacent reefs breaking 100m offshore. Number ones and number twos (seconds) Optimum conditions same as for the Spit. Right handers breaking 1 to 5 ft. No Toilet. Boat Harbour: A very fast , walling right hander breaking on a reef into a boat harbour inlet. N to E swells with S-SE offshores. Definitely for experienced surfers only. 3ft to huge. On occasion – when the conditions are right – Boat Harbour turns on one of the meanest, fastest, hollowest right-hand surf breaks in the country. (The Hawaiian Pitch) Dinah’s Beach: A remote reef and beach break beach taking S to NE swells towards the tip of the peninsula. N-NE offshores. 2 to 6ft. A long drive along windy gravel road. Tricky access through private property. Be Careful! Opoutama: Long, sandy beach break taking S-SW swells with N-NE offshores. Variety of beach breaks. Easy access. This spot is great for learners. The Brighton of the South Seas! Toilets. Mahia Beach and Blue Bay Reserves. Surf spots at Mahia Peninsula, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand Annihilation: Big, powerful, challenging right hand reef breaking onto rocks. SW-SE swells with W-NW offshores. 4ft – 12ft. Experienced surfers only. Easy access from Waikokopu Harbour. Secure your property. Take your rubbish away. Tricky access over private land. Permission needed. No Dogs. Blacks Beach: Very consistent right-hand reef break onto a black sand beach. S swells with N-NE and NW offshores. 2 to 8ft. Easy access from carpark. Blacks is one of the most consistent surf breaks in New Zealand and you are almost guaranteed of finding waves of reasonable quality at least once or twice a week. Toilet at beach. Mahia has an active Board Riders Club (Secretary – 06-8375813). Boards for hire from the same phone number. Private and group lessons. After a long, hard surf or when the waves are blown out by a cold winter southerly, visit the Morere Hot Springs or Sunset Point Tavern or switch coasts. Remember Mahia has E, S, N coasts where you will always find an offshore. Freedom camping is NOT permitted. We had one-and-a-half hour to board our charter plane. Accompanied by my own entourage: my husband, my two sons and an arsenal of surfboards and we were ’stoked’! We were in Philippines and we’re heading to Cloud 9. One of the world’s best surf spot. Only one caveat – supposedly it’s not safe for ‘foreigners’ I looked at my American husband and two light-haired son then me ,the only one who fits in, and suddenly I’m not so stoked.

Our plane touched down and I caught a glimpse of my husband’s wonderment of the land. Endless rows of coconut trees, from a distance a man was walking on a rice patty path while his machete swings on his waist. My children laughed at at the sight of the water buffalo chewing on his cud. This was their airport. No concrete runway instead it was green grass, no security just a table, two attendants equipped with rubber stamps, an old fashion baggage scale and roosters running wild. I felt uncertain in a country where I was born. A tricycle driver yells, “Welcome Surfista!” and for a second I anticipated for him to blindfold everyone from the plane and ask for ransom money instead he smiled his toothless smile and says “Over der es where Abu-Walang-Bayag is hiding…” Lucky for me I understood his pun of joke and I laughed along with him but still I couldn’t help but looked at the forest of coconut trees. His joke was a way to reassure us that he’s on my team and not the one who was in hiding.

The next few days, I mastered the art of doing nothing. My husband happily surfed and hung out with ex-pat Aussies and my kids endlessly played on the beach under the hot-hot tropical sun. They found ‘Nemo’ amongst other sea life and they were particularly fond of chasing coconut crabs huge ones especially at night for which they came in drones. My children wore their headlamps and watched them ate and clicked-clacked their claws. We toured the island on a motorcycle with no helmets with my oldest sitting right on the gas tank. Was I worried that we did not meet U.S transportation standard? Perhaps a little thankfully we got back to our cottage safe and sound. The irony of the trip was as travelers we have all kinds of assumptions of people and places out of our comfort zone. We tend to feel worried and think of the negative and even judge. During my stay, I learned the true meaning of a Spanish saying “Via con Dios!” and I left all my worries behind and learned to live in the moment.

Dreamland, ehemals Geheimtipp der lokalen und internationalen Surf-Szene wurde zwischenzeitlich von Real Estate Firmen erschlossen und hat seinen ehemaligen Charme verloren.Eventuell wird der Zugang zukünftig sogar ganz verboten werden und nur noch einem exklusiven Zirkel zugänglich sein. Ein paar Kilometer weiter in Padang Bay ist es hingegen noch ursprünglicher. “Echte Insider” fahren sowieso nach Osten oder Westen, weg vom Mainstream…

Surfen und Wandern, das sind die zwei Sportarten, die auf Karpathos angesagt sind. Mehr ist auch kaum möglich, denn eine Insel, die lediglich einen Tennisplatz besitzt, der wiederum noch nicht einmal Originalabmessungen vorweisen kann, muss mit ihren anderen Pfunden wuchern.

Und das sind nun mal der „Meltimi“ und eine grandiose Landschaft. Und wer den Surfspot Karpathos getestet hat, der wird so schnell kaum ein anderes Surfrevier mit so viel Abwechslung und Wind finden. An unseren ersten drei Surftagen pustete der Meltemi mit 2-6 Bft über die Insel.

Lefkos

Optimale Bedingungen, um sowohl richtig zu heizen als auch einfach ein paar Tricks, Halsen zu üben bzw,. um Material zu testen. Da ist das Pro-Center Chris Schill eine absolut gute Adresse. Das Material ist brandneu, gepflegt und in einem Top-Zustand. Hinzu kommt das nette Personal, das an den Surfspots arbeitet. Sowohl in der Devils-Bay, einem absoluten Heiz-Revier für Könner als auch in der Lagoon, einem Spot für alle Könnerstufen, ist das ProCenter des Schweizers Schill zu finden.

Einen kleinen Pluspunkt besitzt für mich das Stehrevier in der Lagoon, dort gibt es nämlich das nette Cafe (Baya Cafe) von Vasilis, in dem man nach einem ausgiebigen Surftag ein Mythos trinken kann.

Tulamben Shipwreck, Tulamben is beautiful solitary beach with exotic an array of marine life and underwater plant life. It’s fun dive for all types of divers.The Wreck is the U.S Liberty, a cargo ship that sunk during World War II.Now it has an abudance of corals, sponges, gorgonia,schooling of big eye travelly fish and wide array tame and friendly fish.Tulamben has distinguished it self from most other dive destinatation in Bali island making a serious, long term comitment to preserving it’s corals reef and fish life.

Sanur, Sanur site is only 2 – 18 meters depth.Here you will see stunning underwater environment, table and trophy shaped corals and sponges with thousand of colourfull fishes swimming in profusion around the reef.

Padang Bay, Padang Bay surrounded by majestic cliffs and hills, offers excelent diving with a great variety of marine life.White sandy bottom and exceptionally clear cool water with many species of hard corals, plus numerous species of soft corals, also good place to catch larger pelagics activity including sharks at relatively shallow water.

Manta Point, Manta Point located at Nusa Lembongan Island Coast.It’s like diving in a giant Aquarium to see dancing manta in their home, with dramatic underwater terrain.Larger pelagic includes manta ray, giabt travelly fish and small fieh darting all over the place.

Bali Surf Spot.

Bali has many surf spot out there.

Medewi,medewi is perfect fun wave for all surfers.Come Early to avoid anshore winds. The swell is generaly smaller than at Kuta spot

Balian, Balian gets some swells and is a quiet place in north Bali.Its location thatt is close to the main road makes surfers can easily acces this place.

Canggu and Pererenan, Canggu and Pererenan are palces that most surfers will know about,with their larger than Kuta swells, sandy beach and not much else.Canggu is however is become better known in tourist and expat circles

Kuta Reef, Kuta Reef is an exposed reef break that is often working. May – October is the best time of years for waves.

Balangan, Balangan Reef is close to shore and a short paddle out.Balangan is a verry well known break and can get crowded in a peak season.

Dreamland, Dreamland is famous for its wave that can peel perfectly for hundreds of meters over the reef.The wave are also reserved for expert surfers only.Swiming here is advisable only on low tide.

Bingin,Bingin getting crowded at the peak season with only one small take off area.The Wave it’s preety mechanical,but short.

Impossibles, imposibles is the least crowded surfing spot in Bali.It is located between Padang Padang and Bingin.

Padang Padang, Padang padang only start to work when a big swell is running.It is of an easy padle out throught the chanel.

Uluwatu,There are 4 different sections at Uluwatu.First Section is Temple which is a long and hollow that work on the mid to high tide.Second, the peak right in front of the warung inline with the cave also best on the high tide.Third,Race track is a supper fast wit the barrel that works on the low tide, buta gets seriously shallow.Forth, outside corner is considered by manay to be one of the best waves anywhere in the world. The corner won’t even start to break unless the swell is atleast in the 8’ range.

Nyang –Nyang, Nyang nyang beach is is known as one of great surf spot in Bali.Hiding from the crowd of the people plus big and huge wave makes this beach like a secret paradise the surfer.

Green Bali, Green Bali is Situated at the bottom of a cliff. No worries going down but after you have been surfing for a couples of hours the return leg is a bit harder.

Nusa Dua, to get this reef you have to drive in to the town it self and then weave your way south, there are a couple of other good waves in this area also, so it’s pays to do a bit of exploring.

Sri Lanka, North of Nusa Dua is Sri Lanka, a bowly right, which brake into deep water chanel.

Sanur Reefs, Sanur Reef is a sheltered reff break that only works once in a while.November –April provides you an optimum time of year for the waves.

Padang Galak, padang galak is a reliable rivermouth beach break north of sanur.The surf break is quiet popular here.But Only works under certain conditions.

Ketewel, The surfing crowd at Ketewl usually consists of local and Japanese, including girls on bodyboard.Ketewel seemed like a place beginners/intermediate might enjoy.

Lebih, the surf break in Lebih is greatly affected by direction of the swell.

Padang Bai, Padang Bai has the flat – bottomed mixed reef and sandy bottom with some walls.

For you who need an extra surf Chalenge should be visit The G-Land at Banyuwangi East Java.Some body says the the wave is number 2 after Hawai.It’s seriously push your adrenaline.

Am vergangenen Samstag bereitete sich Normen Günzlein in Weißenhaus auf den Worldcup Sylt vor:

Weißenhäuser Strand ist eines der beliebtesten norddeutschen Ostseereviere und ist in 20-30 Autominuten von Fehmarn aus zu erreichen. Der Windsurfspot ist nicht geeignet für Anfänger, hier trifft man Profis wie Klaas Voget, Lars Gobisch oder Steffi Wahl.

Der Spot bietet auch genügend Platz und beste Bedingungen für Wellenreiter und Kitesurfer, da kommt sich niemand in die Quere. Die Wellenreiter surfen im linken Teil der Bucht. Die Kitesurfer halten sich in Lee auf, in der goldenen Mitte sind die Windsurfer am Start.
