THIS HEALTH CARE BILL SUX -

Good points:  More than 30 Million Americans will get coverage even if they have preexisting problems they cannot be denied.  The Republicans take on this is that the bill will be a complete take over by the Democratic congress and federal government of our health care, our taxes will rise to cover costs, lastly our elderly will have federal benefits taken from them??? I can’t figure out what that would be unless the elderly folks who are on fixed incomes will have theirs reduced therefore making them ineligible for other programs? But I don’t know for sure – THE REPUBLICANS ARE PURPOSELY VAGUE.
Bad part:

For the first time, the government would require nearly every American to carry insurance, and subsidies would be provided to help low-income people to do so. (I can barely afford my mortgage and property taxes. I have not doubt I am going to go to jail b/c I cannot pay for this and I refuse to do so) Employers would be induced to cover their employees through a combination of tax credits and penalties. The legislation costs nearly $1 trillion over 10 years and is paid for by a combination of taxes, fees and cuts to Medicare.  THIS PART IS INSANE – AND THEY ARE SIGNING THIS SHIT? FUCK THEM!

Some liberal Democrats have not been enthusiastic about the Senate bill because they don’t believe it goes far enough, leaving some 24 million people uninsured.

SO THAT MEANS I WILL HAVE TO PAY MORE IN TAXES AND I STILL WON’T BE INSURED. NOT HAPPENING – I’M NOT GOING TO PAY.

THE REALLY BAD NEWS IS =- NO PUBLIC OPTION WHICH IS THE REAL REFORM =- OBAMA IS A TOOL!

…And there are no plans for a government-run national health care system that would cover all Americans. Even a more modest proposal to have a government-run health plan compete with private insurers had to be stripped from the Senate bill in the face of opposition from moderate Democrats.

Negotiations between the House and Senate to reconcile differences between the two bills are expected to begin as soon as next week.

So this lady brought in this watch to get the battery changed and I started to tell her that I couldn’t do it cuz she didn’t buy it at our store (it was a licensed watch that we didn’t have so i assumed she didn’t buy it from the company) to which she promptly and abruptly said she did….so brusquely I sorta felt like i was tearing up…..same thing happened a couple weeks ago….my mom came to me and said “did you think the dishes were going to sit there” and i’m just sitting here like “can I just get one day off, my brother may have been gone all day but not at work why do I have to do it” but instead of saying that I just kinda took it and my eyes started to sting again…i think she could tell i was upset though cuz she came back and asked if i was mad at her…a month or so ago we had a talk after my dad bugged out at me over something i said to her as a joke because i really spazzed out about that to the point of crying and doubting the type of relationship I had with my mother; obviously there was just too too much shit going on at the time cuz like I said I don’t cry so…..whadafuxup with that

But that was the most eventful part of my day……they’re starting to leave little notes about how the showcases have to be locked and the counters wiped down….now I’m going to take this aimed at me because I’ve been closing for the past couple of days and you know what I say to your note? FUCK YOU. I don’t need you to tell me what needs to be done. If I had felt like it in the first place I would have done it. Your little note ain’t doing nothing but pissing me off. And excuse you, that showcase is broken. Get someone to fix it before you come at me all backhanded.

…and it’s a crappy Dell.  I don’t trust laptops because they are so fragile.  My first (and last) laptop purchase was a Lenovo Thinkpad, a computer known for its durability.  I thought it would last at least 4 years, enough time to put me through my undergraduate studies, but it didn’t.  It didn’t even last 2 years before it died on me halfway through sophomore year.  Bottom line is I hate laptops.  And not to mention that Dells are butt ugly and made of cheap plastic materials.

So the new computer provided by the department is a Dell Precision m2400 with pretty good components, which almost made me change my mind about laptops, until it crashed within minutes of booting up the first time.  I’m going to have to face another nightmare of computer debugging again!  After I swore I would never do it again!

Aqui está uma Julia envergonhada por ter sumido do blog! Estou com muita saudade de escrever…mas a vida está uma loucura..Volta as aulas, escolha de tema de mono & orientador, mil trabalhos, finais de semana com tantas coisas pra fazer…hoje sai de casa as 6:20 e cheguei as 20:30! estava tão cansada, que não conseguia falar…tava com tanta coisa na cabeça…não saia nada!

Mas ao mesmo tempo tenho tantas coisas pra contar…tantas coisinhas que comprei, o esmalte da ELF que testei e amei, sapato da shoestock em promoção que gangrenou meu pé…mas enfim..eu juro solenemente que eu volto pra escrever aqui…! Preciso dividir muitas coisas com vocês….

Prometo voltar aqui… mas por enquanto fiquem com um “teaser” da minha nova-cor-favorita! Uma pena que na foto não fique tão bonita…na unha é uma cor única! Um rosa bem chiclete!

queria dividir com vocês a minha suuuper experiencia com o Casting, que comprei ontem, num total impulso!!
Bom vamos lá! Hoje acordei cedinho toda ansiosa para me transformar na moça de cabelos brilhantes da embalagem! Então vamos ao antes ok?

esse é meu cabelo “acabei de acordar”…da pra perceber que ele é castanho, mas tem umas pontas meio mechadas, acho que é de sol não sei…
Então mãos a obra! depois da tortura de aplicar….eu sinceramente achei que vem muito na bisnaga ou eu não sei passar…porque nao acabava mais! No final eu já estava fazendo desenhinhos na minha cabeça!…ai quando ao meu redor no banheiro, vejo os azulejos todos pintadinhos de “castanho claro creme gloss”..aiiiii bateu o desespero, e lá vai eu com o cabelo todo emplastrado tentando limpar os azulejos (detalhe:as 8:30 da manha!)…..depois do martirio…veio a ansiedade…fiquei um tempão secando meu cabelo, sem olhar no espelho, pra me surpreender depois….tava realmente querendo o brilho!! Ai olha só…

Ahhh…cade o brilho?? CADE??????? ….então, cri cri cri pro brilho….decepção…escureceu meu cabelo, isso é fato..eu até gostei da escurecida, deu uma uniformizada ! mas sinceramente, queria meus 14,99 de volta! …ai fiquei pedindo pra minha irmã achar o brilho em uma foto….depois de varias tentativas…consegui uma foto com brilho…mas assim…foi só na foto mesmo! Meu cabelo não tá brilhante! NÃO TÁ BRILHANTE!!!!!!!!! (to meio descontrol desde ontem!)

I love that Rascal Flatts song, “Life is a Highway.”  No doubt about it; it takes some twists and turns.  Some we can seemingly control, others we have no clue.  Overall, we really have NO control, IF, we believe God has the whole world in His hands. He’s so huge, large, and in-charge, that He can do anything He wants to.  Our choices do dictate many of our outcomes. However, one of the unchanging, no-doubt, underlying scarlet threads that run through every choice, good or bad that we make, is the fact that God will NEVER turn his back on anyone; NEVER!  His love never changes for us!  Pretty awesome. Here’s an acrostic that might make some sense.

Life:

S - ensitive —  Life is very much a vapor, the Bible says.  It’s here today, gone tomorrow.  We must take advantage of every minute.  We have a lady in our church in her 60’s that was in a terrible automobile accident that told us, “Before the wreck I was living by the day, but after the wreck I started learning to live by the seconds.” What she means is, every breath counts!!!

U – ndeniable —  Life can be yours for the asking!  All you have to do is ask Jesus to live His life through you.  It all starts with a relationship with Jesus Christ; it all ends with a future-forever with Jesus Christ.  It can’t get any better than that!  God designed it where anybody and everybody could experience the abundant, rewarding, and awesome peace of this life, with sins forgiven and another life to gain one day in heaven.  Hey, He even made it where we could all continue experiencing this kind of peace even through hellish times that come our way.

X - ylophone–  A xylophone is a noun; it is a musical instrument consisting of a graduated series of wooden bars, usually sounded by striking with small wooden hammers.  Kind of reminds me of a dock.  You can walk out on a large wooden dock and your feet decide our each sound that results from each different piece of plank.  None of them are the same and none of them are cut just exactly alike.  Life is like that.  Different events serve as the wooden hammer on us that can cause us to make good sounds or bad sounds;  we either look for the positive in everything or we always look for the negative; we either give up or keep on going.  It sometimes becomes a test of endurance.

Hey, whatever we are all going through today, and believe me, everybody has some kind of cross to bear, admit it, be authentic about it, talk about it, be transparent about it, BUT, “don’t stop thinking about tomorrow.” Live by the seconds; squeeze all the good out of a day you can find.  You’ll only find what you let your mind dictate.  There’s tons of stuff we ALL have to be thankful for!

God is good!

*SPOILER ALERT***** LOST SUX

I have solid evidence to prove that the writers for the show LOST do not know what they’re doing. Firstly, they have Sawyer and Juliet constantly saying “You got my back” like G.I. Joe wannabes. Do they think it’s funny or cute to keep saying that as if it’s more meaningful than rephrasing? How about “are you with me?” or “back me up?” or “Let’s hook up after this even though I’m still in love with Kate”. Oh wait, he basically does say that when he stares at Kate with those charming eyes while she stares back at him with that same damned expression with just a touch of contempt and judgmental attitude that she holds for everyone who doesn’t agree with her. Did she get botox or something?

Secondly – for those of you that think that his body (you know who) being in the trunk was unpredictable, you must not be able to predict the path of a falling object that you threw straight up into the air. I mean seriously, what in the hell would it be. They said Locke had to die and bring everyone back – uduhhhhh – at least they showed lock in the far past in order to explain why there are two Lockes on the island now; if you can’t guess then I feel sorry for you.

Thirdly – They put Jacob arbitrarily into the flashbacks for no other reason than to infer that he has been pulling the strings this whole time. This is what is colloquially referred to as BULLSHIT. It just shows the writers’ lack of foresight that they have to insert him just before introducing us to him at the statue. When was the first appearance of the statue in the series? I don’t remember any statues or feet before and no one seemed to see it from the chopper or the boat, despite being a rather remarkable landmark. A lot of shows change style and story between seasons but LOST seems to make it up episode by episode, resulting in nothing being explained and nothing happening.

Fourthly – who’s bright idea was it to have a smoke monster that first appeared in the early first season and has yet to be explained. I assume it has to do with the energy deposit they drilled into.

Fifthly (wow I didn’t realize I had so many talking points) – the writers do not know how to kill a character. If you watch the show and get to the point where Faraday is going on his “let’s detonate the thermonuclear device” mission, you should plainly be able to see that he is going to die. Think about it: the only times they really focus on a character and flesh him out like that is when they are gonna kill him. They told us EVERYTHING about him so it’s not like there’s any mystery if he dies. Same thing happened with Charlie.

Sixth – the flashbacks, oh the flashbacks. In the beginning I thought they were awesome because they showed people’s basic background and it helped us understand how they developed. But when they are used as a device to introduce new information that isn’t relevant to the core of the story, that is inexcusable.

***EVIDENCE***

Here is the indisputable evidence that the LOST writers suck at story telling. It’s a small instance but it’s the perfect example and is the epitome of filler and stupidity…drum roll please…************

“Just because two people love each other, doesn’t always mean they’re supposed to be together.” – Juliet to Sawyer

Wow. I mean WOW. Did we really need a flashback about her parents’ divorce, an incident that has had no relevancy or impact whatsoever to anything in the series so far, in order for her to say that? Why couldn’t she just say:

“Just because two people love each other, doesn’t always mean they’re supposed to be together. It’s what my parents taught me” then Sawyer can say
“You’re parents got divorced didn’t they?” and she could look down and be like “Yeah”

See? See how easy that is? You don’t need a flashback for every little thing? Only events that matter should have flashbacks. Juliet’s parents’ divorce is absolutely undeniable evidence that the writers were just putting fillers to pad their 42 minute mark and that they depend on repeating stupid phrases like “I got your back” and “We have to go the island *pant* *pant*”

I say NO. No, we don’t have to go back to the island. We don’t have to get LOST in this menagerie of disconnected and unexplained events where sound effects, shoddy camera work, and cuts the word LOST are used to make drama as opposed to, well, actually writing a good drama like the beginning of LOST was or the first season and even second season of Prison Break, most of Heroes, and ER up until George Clooney left.

There are a lot of aspects I liked about Lost. The character development in the beginning was spot on, dialogue was good, and they were just trying to survive rather than take it for granted that there were resources readily available. This is what happens when people who were struggling to survive come upon the means to over supply themselves: they make fake drama about nothing (especially Kate, the all-purpose slut) rather than do things that make sense.

I liked that it was Desmond’s fault that the plane crashed, I was even fine with the concept of ‘the others’ and having the Dharma Initiative be there in the 70’s because that is totally something a private American corporation would do if they found an island with weird properties. I even liked the time travel to explain where somethings came from like the van, the hatch and all of the stations.

But in the end, it’s obvious that even though the overall story is pretty good, the story telling is an egregious offense to good writers everywhere who don’t stoop to cliches in order to pretend to generate drama.

Unpredictability doesn’t equal originality. Retarded and insane people are unpredictable, which clearly categorizes the LOST writing staff.

Bring back compelling story telling the way it was supposed to be done!!

A couple of weeks ago I started to feel that there was going to be changes happening in my life soon, like a wind hitting my face telling me that rain was coming. And it wasn’t that a fortune cookie told me this either. Of course I had been planning to buy a pedicab and am hoping to get one soon, and so that was part of it. And that work was so slow made it so blatant that a change was needed.
So today, as a result of what happened last tuesday, I finally got fired from my bike messenger job. As I view it, it was so obvious that there wasn’t enough money to go around, and being me the one that won’t kiss ass, and some previous exchanges with the (idiot) boss, that did it.
So that might be the last chapter of the bike messenger experiment in austin for me. So good riddance. Time will tell.
