Polish born – Robert Babicz – may visually appear to have a fondness for heavy power too

Polish born – Robert Babicz – may visually appear to have a fondness for heavy power tools and dark shades, but his productions isn’t the kind of teeth rattling, head drilling Tech you might expect, and is instead structured around sharp beats, solid productions combined with subtle melodies, which cast a shining light in any groove ridden set.

In fact – it’s not surprising his productions have gained massive support from likes of John Digweed, Sven Väth, Gui Boratto, Pete Tong and the rest of the Tech Mafia.

Following his massive success with last summer’s – “Dark Flower” – in its Joris Voorn remix he’s now unleashed the shimmering diamond of – “Astor” – on Systematic Recordings, which comes packed with mixes from the likes of Shur-I-Kan, Glimpse, Gui Boratto and of course Robert himself who turns in a Jazz Breaks inspired Tech excursion with its twinkling top line, lush keys and angel like vocals.

Not surprisingly all eyes are on the Gui Boratto mix who once again proves why he certainly is one of the men of the moment. His remix goes deep, deep into the heart of the morning sprinkled with subsonic bass while utilising the melody and the original vocals to great effect leading up to a break, which will have your jaw dropping and leave you drooling in no time.

Top early morning stuff for any discerning floor!
