Humanitarian good works are not the first thing that crosses most young people’s minds these days. A

Humanitarian good works are not the first thing that crosses most young people’s minds these days. Actually it is far from it.

“I want what I want, when I want it,” is the more popular theme.

Goodness knows, I have even heard it out of teenagers mouths quite often lately.

Here is the complete opposite to what I just quoted above:

I recently had to privilege to meet a beautiful young woman who at the age of 23 was taking herself off to Uzbekistan to teach and educate the children there for 2 years. Basically where she is moving to is very primitive indeed. You may even be asking me “where is that?”

Yes that’s how far she is travelling away from the comforts of America and home. I have even provided a map so you can see how far my young friend is going.

The thing that inspired me the most about this young woman was her giving spirit. She was looking forward to it. She knew the risks involved and what she could expect to find. Still she was very inspired to do it. I praised her and that is why I am also sharing this story with you today.

She is a rare gem to find these days, in a field of common and dried out grass.

Most young women her age are out partying, meeting guys, and buying the latest fashion accessory. Turn on MTV some time and you can see them all, in their glory there. With shows like Real Life and Jersey Shore. These days, many young women live shallow lives and never give a second thought to anyone but themselves. I saw these kids from this ridiculous show “Jersey Shore” and I was totally disgusted. If you want an example of total disregard for anyone or anything, then watch these kids. One of these young ladies on this show, has no clue about what is really going on in the world and seems so proud of herself to be classified by many people as a “BIMBO”. Even my 15 year old niece said those guys looked like they were having fun and it looked “COOL.”

Pass me the vomit bag please.

Eeerrrkkk! This is what these kinds of shows do to our kids. They steal their morals and ideas of what is truly right and good. These kinds of shows also, steal away kids lack of natural affection of what is, love and concern the right way and not just sex and greed.

Hey, I have a great idea:

Lets take those same kids from Jersey Shore and take them to a little village in Afghanistan to help the people there. Reality check big time for what life is really about for about 60% of the population. A real life experience of how many people are forced to live, may just be the ticket for many of our spoiled teenagers and young adults.

Seriously people, these are the Kids of Tomorrow? Lead by example? To whom, what, where and when? Maybe they could lead the cow in the paddock if they have some hay in their hand.

World Leaders? That is such a scary thought. Half of them don’t even know past and present world leaders, nor do they care.

Humanitarians? If it doesn’t involve, lipstick, a hairbrush, high heels, hair gel and cell phones forget it.

This is the best our society has to offer? Lack of self control, sex with whom ever and when ever, bitchy nasty comments, brain dead and absolutely no concept of what is really going on in the world, indeed it would seem, that is the best we have to offer humanity.

Send these kids to work with the poor, the down trodden, the ones we like to ignore. I think every teenager and young person from the age of 18 to 24 should be in service to humanity for a period of two years. At least this way they would all have an idea of how the real world lives and interacts, outside of themselves. WAKE UP PEOPLE! Take your eyes off this rubbish, WE call REALITY TV and focus on what IS REALITY IN THE REAL WORLD.

How will humanity ever come together, when this kind of rubbish on our TV, is what we call REALITY?

This is the reality of how many millions of people Actually live every day of their lives. Look at this young teenager and tell me that she couldn’t teach our spoiled teenagers a thing or two on survival and living?

Are you kidding me? Teach your kids properly this year, take them to a soup kitchen and make them serve the homeless occasionally. Show them what happens to people in REAL LIFE, when they do NOT give back to those less fortunate than themselves. Teach them that greed, selfishness, hate and anger only creates MORE of that in their lives. Show them the outcomes of these negative thoughts. How we all see this kind of behavior too often in Hollywood. Drugs, suicide, and all that other not so fun stuff is the reality of the negative behavior. Destructive and all consuming….

Change your teenagers life for the better, they need you more than you know and we all need them involved in the future of humanity too.

Love and Blessings

Today I saw something that really touched my heart and I wanted to share it with you. I think this i

Today I saw something that really touched my heart and I wanted to share it with you. I think this is a very appropriate time to speak of this, only 2 days before Christmas. I am not a religious person but rather a spiritual one as I have mentioned many times before.

However, I also give credit where credit is due no matter of what faith or belief a person has. I have come across just one individual that I wish to praise. I listened to a man speak today on Television, called Jon Huntsman Senior.

He is a very wealthy man today but that was not always the case. Jon worked hard for what he has now. Jon’s childhood home had walls made of cardboard and he started work in the real world a small boy, helping his family out financially. Jon as an adult has worked around Presidents and has and still is known in many circles. Jon was always known for his honesty too.

The thing that I liked about Jon was his candor about his past, his modesty about all the charities he supports and his BIG LOVING heart. Jon gives millions of dollars a year away to charity.

He put up $286 million dollars of his own money, to build an amazing cancer hospital in Utah.Huntsman Cancer Institute. None of my writings on this blog today about Jon Huntsman, has anything to do with Politics either. I praise people for their humanitarian good works and Jon is an amazing man.

Men like Jon Huntsman Senior, are hard to find these days. They have wealth and power, yet they have not forgotten the most simple of things… to give back to those who have nothing. Jon says it is the only way to live. I whole heartedly agree. Giving back to those ones who have nothing, will in turn continually bless YOU. Jon is Living Proof of that.

This is a picture of the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Jon is not a doctor and does not claim to be one either. However I did hear his opinion on this same program on television, about the new advice from the Government Doctors forum on mammograms and screenings. Jon is of the opinion if early screening and detection on breast cancer and prostate screening is not done when it is supposed to be done, many American people will suffer and possibly die.

America’s detection rate could go down from 98% to 65% as it is currently is now, overseas.

America’s National Health Care Advisory Board of Doctors (bought and paid for by the Government Agenda) wants to put back Mammogram screenings to the age of 50 for a woman. If the Huntsman Cancer Institute advises against this, then I think I will listen to them.

If our government is so interested in the future of medicine in America, then why not ask a Medical Doctor or Researcher from the Huntsman Institute what they think about pushing back the age for mammogram screenings?

I believe the government will NOT ask this institute their opinion, because they already know what answer will be given.

The Huntsman Cancer Institute is about people and heart, not numbers and control. The Huntsman Cancer Institute, NEVER turns away anyone who has no health insurance and they work with the Native American People to help them with their medical needs as well.

Therefore, maybe our Political Government could take a page out of this wonderful institute’s book and follow the heart principle in healing, instead of the muddled up 2000 + pages of propaganda and lies on the Health Care Bill.

Jon Huntsman Senior is an example of who to follow if you are just not sure to use as a hero type. Below is a photographic copy of his book for you to read. Maybe a few politicians in Washington should read this book too. It may help them find some kind of redemption in their lives, from the lies and corruption they currently try to persuade American people with.

I linked this book cover to the Amazon Site where you can pick up your copy for a mere $17.05.

Redemption is very cheap if you need it I wanted to make the title of this book big enough for all of you to Read it properly.

Notice the comment on the front of Jon’s book

“Everyday Values We Learned as Children (But May Have Forgotten)”

What a fine example for any child to follow. These are the kinds of people our Youth of tomorrow should aspire to be like.

Thank you Jon Huntsman Senior, YOU made my day today.

Love and Blessings

You think this Health Care Bill is a lemon now, just you wait till 2010, when your paycheck will shrink even more.

Sing it with me: “Jingle Bells the Government smells, the people ran away.”

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows that just 25% of the nation’s voters strongly approve of Obama’s job performance.A whopping 46% strongly disapprove – giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21.

That is President Obama’s lowest rating to date…

Alabama Democratic Rep. Parker Griffith will switch to the Republican party which was reported in the news… December 22, 2009.

RESIGNING THEIR SEATS: Neil Abercrombie, Hawaii and Robert Wexler Florida. Both say it is for other reasons, but is it really? I don’t believe it anymore. I personally think they are running scared and afraid that the American people have had enough and so they are getting out, while the getting is still good. Therefore, if all of these important Democrats are leaving, jumping ship, whistling Dixie, and whatever else we are led to believe, what does this tell you?

DO YOU HAVE: Buyers remorse and want a refund? Maybe you got sold a lemon and it was so bitter, it made your mouth sweat? You took the bag of apples home and they were all rotten inside? Ate some government food and now you have a bad case of food poisoning…bathroom close by I hope?

All of the Above?

Well here is the latest on the TEA PARTY and it isn’t even a real Party. Funny enough though, it is ahead of both Democrats and Republicans in the polls. Imagine that! The people have finally had enough. So I say,we need a new 3rd Party, bring on the TEA.

I like a good strong cup of black tea anyway. How about you? It just might fix up that tummy upset you have, from trying to swallow all that government muck YOU gobbled up.

The president goes on TV and tells the American People that WE have to cut costs and spending. Uh-huh, so shouldn’t you also lead by example? Or is it, do as I say but don’t do as I do?

I don’t know about you but the only people who are spending lately is the Government and all it’s corrupt politicians. Let’s see…BIG FANCY PARTIES, SPENDING MORE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE’S MONEY INTO DEBT, TAKING TO THE AIR, IN PLANES AND JETS THAT EAT UP SO MUCH FUEL. THESE ARE THE SAME PLANES THAT CREATE POISONOUS GASES AND FOSSIL FUELS (hmm and I thought the Democrats supported the environment too). What a bunch of hypocrites our politicians are.

THE BAH HUMBUG PART: Were you aware that even though you will not get to use the National Health Care System till 2014,(read that again folks…..2014). Our wonderful Government is going to start taxing you as of January 2010 another whopping 8% more in Taxes. By 2014 the majority of Americans will NOT be able to AFFORD HEALTH CARE period. Isn’t this a great way to start the New Year!

Smile now, while you suck on that nasty sour lemon, does it taste good yet?

Were you also aware that on top of our 12.4 trillion dollar deficit the Government is going to BORROW another 2 trillion dollars and something to pay for this horse manure of a health care bill?

I am pretty sure that Horse Manure is worth much more now, than the Health Care Bill ever will be. At least Horse manure is a great fertilizer and helps plant life grow and re-generate. Our National Health Care will kill off people and regulate everything.

Not to mention the doctors that will quit practicing medicine because there will be NO more incentives unless they love working like a dog and get paid for pittance. You forget folks, I have already seen this happen with many doctors in Australia who came to America to practice medicine. Why do you think they did that? Because they couldn’t get paid what they were worth under National Health Care, that’s why. So where will the doctors go next then?

BABY DON’T CRY: Our Kids and their Kids will never forgive us, as we lower their cost of living by another 38% for many generations to come. Imagine being 1 years old, and having to pay back approximately $400,000.00 in taxes, to government spending that you were not even conceived through. Nice huh? That’s what these corrupt government officials that we have elected, have done to our babies and unborn children.

See these little faces above?

We are saddling our children, with debt they will NEVER be able to pay off. Our Government takes their income away, that they haven’t even earned yet. The government is doing this, to them Right Now, Yesterday, Today.

Your children and my own. Aren’t you upset about that?

I have said it before and I will say it again. Both the Republican and Democratic parties are as bad and as corrupt as each other. I have absolutely NO FAITH in either. I never was much into politics until I started to see the real darkness of it. You know even Gandhi the great Indian Spiritual leader, said politics was like a coil of a snake.

“If I seem to take part in politics, it is only because politics encircles us today like the coil of a snake from which one cannot get out, no matter how much one tries. I wish therefore to wrestle with the snake.” Mahatma Gandhi

So I guess, here I am wrestling with a nasty two headed venomous serpent we call our Government. I wrestle for you and your children. For me and my children. Let’s all help each other get uncoiled from this snake, we call our Political Government.

Love and Blessings

Dear Senators Levin and Stabenow,
It is my understanding from the news reports that you are scheduled to vote in this Illegal and Unconstitutional Health Care Reform Act on Monday at 1 am.
I am putting you on CONSTRUCTIVE NOTICE OF INSTRUCTION that you do not have any LEGAL CONSTITUTIONAL authority to vote yes on this issue. Therefore, you must vote no or you will be in VIOLATION of your OATH OF OFFICE and subject to removal.
Congress lacks the constitutional authority to regulate and control the practice of medicine in the jurisdiction of the States.

See Linder v. United States, 268 U.S. 5, 18, 45 S.Ct. 446 (1925) (“Obviously, direct control of medical practice in the states is beyond the power of the federal government”);

Lambert v. United States 268 U.S. 5, 18. Congress, therefore, cannot directly restrict the professional judgment of the physician or interfere with its free exercise in the treatment of disease. Whatever power exists in that respect belongs to the states exclusively.”)

Oregon v. Ashcroff, 368 F.3d 1118, 1124 (9th Cir. 2004) (“The principle that state governments bear the primary responsibility for evaluating physician assisted suicide follows from our concept of federalism, which requires that state lawmakers, not the federal government, are ‘the primary regulators of professional [medical] conduct.’ Conant v. Walters, 309 F.3d 629, 639 (9th Cir. 2002);
Barsky v. Bd. of Regents, 347 U.S. 442, 449, 74 S.Ct 650, 98 L.ED. 829 (1954) (’It is elemental that a state has broad power to establish and enforce standards of conduct within its broders relative to the health of everyone there. It is a vital part of a state’s police power.’) The Attorney General ‘may not…regulate [the doctor-patient] relationship to advance federal policy.’ Conant, 309 F3d at 647 (Kozinski, J., concurring).”)
And certain features of this proposed law will certainly be unconstitutional; see:

United States v. Constantine, 296, U.S. 287, 56 S.Ct. 223 (1935) “We think the suggestion has never been made — certainly never entertained by this Court — that the United States may impose cumulativepenalties above and beyond those specified by state law for infractions of the state’s criminal code by its own citizens. The affirmative of such a proposition would obliterate the distinction between the delegated powers of the federal government and those reserved to the states and to their citizens. The implications from a decision sustaining such an imposition would be startling. The concession of such a power would open the door to unlimited regulation of matters of state concern by federal authority. The regulation of the conduct of its own citizens belongs to the state, not to the United States. The right to impose sanctions for violations of the state’s laws inheres in the body of its citizens speaking through their representatives. So far as the reservations of the Tenth Amendment were qualified by the adoption of the Eighteenth, the qualification has been abolished. (emphases added)

So if you haven’t noticed we are in the middle of a take-over, a Google sized take-over. The likes in which we have never seen before; a company that started as a simple search engine has now become larger than life. Institutes onto itself; sort of like McDonalds, Kleenex, Q-Tips, etc, just say the one name and we all know what you are talking about. We now have phones running Google, maps that can show you on your porch chillin’, gps that can follow you as you move from to and fro, and some new email titled Wave, and now a computer operating system.

Google has turned into the big brother of the web. We all ready know that they keep track of all of your searches. Now come, come now. How many of you really feel that Google won’t spy on that also? The OS will probably keep all types of records on the data you view and/or store.

Google is slowly taking over our lives, one step at a time. I hope pretty soon we will have Google toilet paper, to wipe away any streaks we may have left behind!

There are more heartbreaking stories from the Caribbean island of Turks and Caicos concerning so-cal

There are more heartbreaking stories from the Caribbean island of Turks and Caicos concerning so-called “squatters” forcibly removed from their homes by the British interim government.

These are people who have (unwittingly) built their homes on what the British say is Crown land. I sat shaking my head as I read the accounts of now homeless families that had sunk their life savings into building homes that are purported to be on Crown land. Their homes have all been demolished. One account of a worker suggesting he had orders to take their lives if they didn’t comply, was alarming. There was nowhere for these people to go. The British did not care.

The British also failed to make important resort developments whole by declaring their land bonafide transfers causing resort developments to collapse.

The British announced an increase of 1% tax on hospitality, as if the tourism industry needed that blow on top of everything else.

The British then announced revocation of many islander benefits whereby subjecting islanders to the high cost of living from living in a resort community.

The British announced a mandatory health care tax on all citizens. The British government has announced police force for those who do not comply.

The British announced an amendment to the financial banking sector of Turks and Caicos, thereby damaging that resource of the economy.

The British took the autonomous constitution from the people and declared an abolishment of “the citizens’ right to a jury trial” for the entire population of the islands. Not just those accused of corruption, but all people. This is almost unprecedented for the British, even in Northern Ireland this didn’t happen. Their reason is that the citizens of Turks and Caicos are all corruptible.

The police are now angry for UK’s failure to give them certainty about their jobs and their duties as law enforcement personnel with the new government.

Important record keepers and island officials have been dismissed from their jobs or forced out. New pink faces replace the distinguished islander law makers of yesterday.

Important resort developments have collapsed, causing a loss of jobs and tourism revenue.

Secret meetings are being conducted by the British government excluding island government personnel.

Turks and Caicos is being run as a dictatorship; Gordon Wetherell is making all decisions solely.

The former Premier Williams and new opposition party leader Doug Parnell both oppose the British direct rule and its poor governance of the islands.

International blocs, The United Nations, Caricom and European Union have all condemned this hostile take over of the islands and have called it illegal.

But wait! I also read an opinion from a chap called Carlos Simons published in the Turks and Caicos Sun Times, albeit buried a bit. Here is his opinion boiled down after you edit the verbose subtext:

1. Dissenters are causing further turmoil at a time when islanders need to be moving on in this tough economy.
2. Dissenters are peddling dangerous myths.
3. There has been no overthrow of the government or recolonisation.
4. There is no difference since the British took over governance.
5. The British are restoring good governance.

Mr. Simons, to your opinions as set forth in items 1 through 5, I refer you back to the facts above.

Blake Freeman snaked his way through the hallways leading to the break room. Mounted on the wall nex

Blake Freeman snaked his way through the hallways leading to the break room. Mounted on the wall next to the soda machine was the time clock Blake sought. The sound of the clock’s mechanical teeth descending onto his time card, perforating it and thereby releasing him, was all Blake could think about. He walked into the break room, half heartedly nodding to a few of his colleagues, and performed his ritual of release. The time card reflected a perfect day’s work, conveniently leaving out the four small breaks that Blake forgot to record. He changed out of his white orderly garb, donning a red flannel shirt, blue jeans, and his trademark snakeskin cowboy boots. He applied a heaping portion of salve to his hair and combed it back perfectly, winking at his reflection in the mirror as he did so.

Blake left the hospital, whistling to himself. He hopped into his pickup truck, started the ignition, and sped off, happily leaving the hospital behind him. His ex-wife Sonia had their son Matthew for the weekend and Blake was looking forward to unwinding. He turned up the volume of his car’s radio and rolled down the windows, letting the night’s cool air rush into the truck. It was a short ride through town to Blake’s home. He made a stop at the convenience store for a six-pack of beers, deciding to splurge, and resumed his journey. He arrived home at four thirty A.M., which was a bit later than usual due to Rebecca McCann’s return. As he walked through his front door, Blake chuckled, reflecting on the absurdity of the circumstances through which Rebecca was reinstated at the psych ward. “Life…” he mused aloud, opening the first can of beer less than a minute after walking through the door.

Blake plopped down on his musty couch, positioning himself directly in front of the television, and proceeded to drink himself unconscious. That night he dreamt of Rebecca. In his dream he wore his white orderly’s uniform as he scoured the halls in search of the escaped patient. When he found Rebecca, Blake was shocked to discover that she didn’t fear his capture, but rather, seemed aroused by his presence. She pressed her body against his, ever so slightly dragging her lips across his ear and whispering, “Nebula.” When Blake awoke in the morning, he had a crushing hangover. He recalled his dream, repeating the word ‘nebula’ to himself while holding his head in his hands. In those first moments of consciousness, Blake failed to realize the reason he woke up. The knocking at his door resumed and Blake whipped his head toward the sound, immediately regretting his action. Freely turning his head without preparation induced a series of painful throbs, and Blake froze, waiting for them to subside.

The knocking grew louder. Blake finally got on his feet, muttering “Hold on a sec… jeez,” as he walked toward his entryway. He opened the shoddy door, squinting as the sun’s light bore down upon him, and saw his son standing on the porch. “Mat! What are you doing here? It’s not…” Blake looked at the date on his watch, suddenly worried that he mixed up weekends with Sonia, but Mat spoke up, explaining the situation. Sonia’s new boyfriend just moved in with her, which greatly reduced the quality of Mat’s experience there. Not in the mood to stay with his mother and her new boy-toy, Mat asked if he could return to his father’s house, despite the fact that it wasn’t Blake’s weekend. Sonia obliged Mat and showed him exactly how little she cared by dropping him off in front of his father’s house without even making sure Blake was home.

Blake was furious with Sonia and left an angry message on her answering machine as Mat showered. He wouldn’t have minded the extra opportunity to see his boy if it weren’t for the wicked hangover he was nursing. He decided to take advantage of Mats momentary absence and whipped himself up a little ‘hair of the dog.’ When Mat got out of the shower he walked into the living room and said, “A Bloody Mary? Do you have a hangover?” Blake was in mid sip and nearly choked on his drink when Mat asked him that. “Boy… you’re only twelve years old. What you know about hangovers? And don’t tell me you’ve had one, for God’s sake.” Mat appeared very pleased with himself and sat down on the couch, replying, “Nah… but c’mon dad. I’m not a kid anymore.” Blake laughed at his sons clichéd response, feeling overwhelmed with affection for the boy. Blake had the distinct sense that if he never accomplished anything in his life – a condition that was nearly realized – his son would easily justify his reason for existing.

“Well, smarty pants – yes, I do have a hangover” said Blake, sitting down next to Mat. “I wasn’t expecting to be up this early, you know. We’ve got your mother to blame for that one.” He and Mat spent the entire morning talking. Blake inquired about all the usual things: school, girls, Sonia, etc. But Mat seemed to have something on his mind, which wasn’t coming up in their conversation of its own accord. After a while, Blake said, “So, you know your old man aint a dummy, right? What’s on your mind?” Mat looked down, hesitant to speak about the subject consuming his thoughts. “C’mon” Blake persisted.

Mat decided to give it a go, hoping that his dad might believe him since no one else would. “Well, alright… but you’ve got to promise to try and keep an open mind, ok?” said Mat. Blake put his fingers in the air between them and said, “Scouts honor.” “Seriously, dad” began Mat, “just try, ok? I know this sounds pretty weird, but Tom and I… well, we think something’s going on in school.” Mat’s eyes probed his father’s, finding them alert and interested, and he continued, “First, Joey was out for a few days.” Blake interjected, “Joey the bully?” “Yeah. He was out sick for like three days, and when he came back he didn’t seem right.” “How so,” asked Blake. “Well he was real quiet. And he didn’t pick on any of his usual victims. And he started being really smart, answering all the teacher’s questions correctly and getting A’s!” Blake considered this and said, “Yeah… and? That’s what you ought to be doin’ in class, too.” Mat sighed loudly, dropping his arms down onto the couch and grumbling his response. “Wait, I didn’t even explain yet!” Blake put his hands in the air, discontinuing his parental banter, and allowed Mat to resume. “A few days later, Daisy disappeared too. When she came back, she wasn’t chewing gum. Daisy! She always chews gum! And the same thing happened with Robby.” Blake’s eyes narrowed and he asked, “So what are you suggesting?” “I don’t know, dad” replied Mat, “but it’s weird. I think somebody did something to them.”

Blake felt that he indulged Mat’s story long enough and tried to assure his son that nothing was going on. Mat’s face expressed his disappointment at failing to convince his father of what he considered to be extremely important. The mood in the room took a turn for the dour and, trying to lift Mat’s spirits, Blake suggested they go fishing. Mat shrugged his shoulders, noncommittally accepting his father’s offer, and excused himself to go change. When Mat was out of sight, Blake collapsed onto the sofa, groaning as his headache lambasted him with pain. A sweat broke out all over Blake’s body and he retrieved his Bloody Mary, placing the cold glass against his forehead.

Blake and Mat made the best of their unexpected weekend visit, and Mat didn’t bring up his concerns about his classmates again. When Sunday evening rolled around, Blake dropped Mat off at Sonia’s apartment after “speaking” with her alone first. He said goodbye to his son, who seemed disappointed to be back with his mother. As Blake left Sonia’s apartment, he thought about his life. When he was with his son he felt like a decent person, but as soon as they parted, Blake felt like the shady character everyone told him he was. He drove past the convenience store on his way home, deliberating about whether or not to stop for beer again. In Blake’s mind, there were two outcomes possible for his evening: he could sit on his couch, feeling depressed, or… he could sit on his couch, feeling depressed with beer. He pulled his truck over and ran in to the convenience store, returning a moment later with a six pack in his hands.

The next day it was business as usual for Blake. He was back on the day shift after two solid weeks of working nights. He managed to avoid drinking himself into hangover territory, but hated waking up for work just the same. At the hospital, everything seemed to be back to normal. Blake made a special visit to Rebecca’s room, peering through the window of her door and eyeing her as she sat on her bed, hugging her knees. He took lunch an hour late – a technique he employed to make the day seem shorter – and ate alone in the break room. Blake’s cell phone, set to vibrate, began buzzing inside of his pants pocket. He was surprised to see that it was a call from his son. He looked at his watch, feeling even more intrigued when he realized that Mat should be in class. He answered the call, saying, “Hello? Mat – what are you doing out of class?” Static blared into Blake’s ear and he repeated Mat’s name. Suddenly, through a break in the static, Blake heard Mat’s voice. Fear ripped through Blake’s chest as he listened to Mat’s shrill voice screaming for help. Dropping his sandwich, Blake tore out of the break room, passing a fellow orderly in the hall. He yelled to the orderly as he ran, saying that his son was in trouble and to let Dr. Leeds know that he was leaving.

Blake jumped in his truck and sped out of the Hospital’s parking lot. He redialed Mat’s phone number, hoping to get a hold of him as he drove toward his school. Distracted with punching numbers into his cell phone, Blake accidentally ran a red light. He narrowly avoided a sideswipe accident, thanking his lucky stars, and slowed down a bit to avoid killing himself before he could reach his son. Blake cursed as Mat’s cell phone rang its allotted number of times and went to voicemail. “C’mon…” Blake said, pounding his fist against the steering wheel as traffic slowed in front of him. After a desperate and profoundly frustrating twenty-minute drive, Blake arrived at Mat’s school. He pulled up directly in front of the entrance and put the truck in park, dashing from the vehicle without even turning the engine off. He kicked open the red double doors to the school and charged through the halls, looking for Mat’s classroom. Blake vaguely remembered which room his son’s class was in because of the parent-teacher conference that he begrudgingly attended only a few weeks ago. He arrived in the general vicinity of Mat’s classroom and began looking into the doors that lined the hall, trying to find his son.

Nothing in particular stood out about the school that indicated any signs of trouble to Blake. Suddenly gripped by a harrowing thought, Blake wondered if Mat’s call didn’t originate from the building he was in. Just as the pit in Blake’s stomach reached its deepest, most intolerable point, he spotted his son sitting attentively in one of the classrooms before him. Blake’s entire body shed the tension it was struggling to cope with. Feeling weak in the knees, Blake supported himself with his arm as he leaned against the wall near the classroom’s door. A short fit of laughter issued from Blake, who began sweating as the adrenaline in his blood subsided. He stood up, exhaled forcefully, and shook his head. Regaining his composure, Blake reflected on the situation and wondered what possessed Mat to call him in such a frightening manner.

Blake tucked his white shirt into his white pants and fixed his hair with his hands. He was just about to knock on the classroom door when Mat’s teacher, who must have heard or seen the commotion Blake caused, came to the door herself. Mrs. Primrose, wearing a formal, burgundy suit-jacket, approached Blake with a smile. Through her toothy grin, which appeared to be suppressing an air of trepidation, she said, “Mr. Freeman! Is everything all right? What can I do for you?” Blake raised his hands reassuringly and told Mrs. Primrose about the phone call he received. She expressed her shock, covering her mouth with her hand, but then seemed to drift off into thought. After a pause she interjected, “But Mr. Freeman… Mat’s been in my class all morning. If he had made a phone call, surely I would have noticed!” Blake didn’t like how things were progressing. His intuitions told him that something was wrong and he insisted on speaking with his son. “Of course, of course” said Mrs. Primrose, retreating into the classroom and returning a moment later with Mat. Blake thanked her and took Mat’s shoulder, leading him down the hall.

“Hey buddy – what the hell’s goin’ on? You scared me half to death!” said Blake. Mat, his eyebrows furrowing in a look of confusion, asked his father what he was talking about. “Mat… don’t even try it. I know your voice better than I know my own and you best not be playing with me.” “Honest, dad. I didn’t call you, I swear!” said Mat. Blake stood up from the huddle he and Mat were having and looked around. The hallways, littered with bulletins showcasing artwork and cheery slogans, were empty and serene. Blake sucked his teeth, feeling confused himself, but was suddenly struck with an idea. “Give me your phone” he said to Mat. “What? What for, dad?” Blake lowered his voice, a sure sign that he meant business, and Mat handed his cell phone over. Looking through the call log, Blake found his number, which was dialed just a half an hour earlier. “You’re in trouble, buddy. I left work, nearly got hit by a car, practically had a heart attack worrying about you, and then you lie to me?” Mat tried to protest, but there was no use. “We’ll talk about this after school, young man” said Blake, dispatching his son back to class.

Later that night Blake was forced to endure his least favorite task – disciplining his son. His second least favorite task, which was discussing any subject whatsoever with his ex-wife Sonia, was also in effect. Mat confessed to placing the call, blaming his actions on peer pressure, but apologized and dutifully accepted his punishment without resistance. Beginning his stint of being grounded, Mat shuffled off to his room after saying good night to his parents and apologizing once more. Sonia told Blake that he was too hard on Mat, but Blake scoffed, dismissively waving his hand in her general direction. The two of them had a fight, albeit a small one by their standards, and finally, Blake went home.

Nearly a week went by and Blake, feeling that he should ease up on Mat, decided to surprise his son by picking him up after school. He waited outside the building in his truck, planning to take Mat out for ice cream, or something to that effect. When three thirty came around, a bell resounded from within the school. Blake sat up, expecting to see droves of screaming children run out of the doors, emphatically celebrating their freedom. However, to his disbelief, the red doors opened slowly and two children from the lower grades stood in place, holding them open. Two single file lines of children began to emerge from the double doors, keeping perfect formation. Not a single child spoke and, although the school didn’t institute uniforms, the children were wearing matching burgundy colored jackets. Blake leaned over the passenger side of his truck, peering through the window with his jaw hanging open. The two lines of children branched off when they reached the bottom of the stairs, but remained tightly ordered with the first line heading north down the block, and the second line heading south.

Speechless, Blake decided that the school must have been conducting some kind of fire drill. He got out of his truck and walked over to the line of children heading south, finding Mat amongst the group. “Mat! He called out.” The entire line of children heading south stopped and every face silently turned to meet Blake’s gaze. “Holy…” he muttered under his breath. Mat alone stepped out from the line and said, “Hi dad” with a broad, cheery smile. Mat’s expression indicated that he wasn’t aware of how bizarre the scene before them was and Blake, furtively glancing at both lines, leaned down to whisper in his ear. “Son… what’s all this about?” Mat, still smiling blankly, replied, “What’s all what about, dad?” “Oh, hell no” Blake replied, taking Mat’s hand and returning to the truck. Mat pulled against his father’s grip, trying to return to his place in line, but Blake wasn’t having any of that.

They nearly made it to the vehicle, but Blake fell to the ground before he could climb in. Paralyzed, yet experiencing a fiery burning sensation all over, Blake looked up into the sky, which became occluded by the increasing number of children’s faces bending down over him. When he came to, he found himself chained to a radiator in a dingy, damp cellar. He surmised that he was in the school’s basement after spotting a stack of Styrofoam trays in the corner, and started to struggle against his manacles. His head throbbed, reminding him of the hangover he had a few days ago, and for a moment he entertained the notion that maybe he was passed out drunk somewhere, dreaming all of this. Blake gathered all of his strength and pulled as hard as he could, trying to break free from his bind. He collapsed against the radiator, failing to escape.

Blake couldn’t understand what was happening, though he tried. His imagination ran wild, but he refused to believe what it was suggesting. He consoled himself, thinking, “Things like this don’t happen,” but they do, and they were. Suddenly, Blake thought he saw something move in the shadowed corner of the basement. “Who’s there?” he stammered, pressing himself up into a seated position with his feet. “What the hell is this? Where’s my son?” he demanded. Just as he thought his imagination might have tricked him, Blake saw movement again and was convinced that he wasn’t alone. “God damn it – I see you over there!” he yelled. Out of the shadows emerged the small frightened frame of a young boy. Blake stared impetuously, expecting to encounter the same possessed breed of child that overtook him outside. “Mr. Freeman?” the sheepish voice intoned. Blake, surprised to hear his name spoken with such fragility, warily said, “Who’s that? Who’s there?” The boy stepped the rest of the way out of the shadows, exposing his dirt covered face to the light. “Thomas!” cried Blake.

He recognized Mat’s friend from slumber parties and other occasions of that ilk. His heart rose with the discovery of a potential ally and he said, “Tom, Thomas… hey, buddy. Come here. Help me out with these chains, son.” Tom scanned the basement and hesitantly approached Blake. “What the hell is going on here?” asked the latter. Tom, making a shushing gesture with his pointer finger, pulled a key out of his pocket and opened the lock on Blake’s manacle. Rubbing his wrists, Blake stood up and followed Tom into the shadowed area from whence he came. Though it was invisible from where Blake was sitting, a door became apparent once the two of them entered the darkened basement’s rear. “Tom,” Blake said, whispering, “what the hell is going on here? How did you get that key?” Without responding, Tom opened the door and motioned for Blake to follow him.

Down a small flight of stairs and inside of a horrible smelling chamber, Blake spotted a mound of discarded clothing. He surmised that the children he saw exiting the school must have abandoned their clothing there before donning their matching outfits. Nothing made sense to Blake. He turned around to face Tom, finding him standing in front of the door with a dubious expression, and asked him if he knew what was going on. Tom began to smile and pointed at the wall behind the clothing. Blake turned around and looked at the wall, thinking that something did seem odd about it. He approached the dank cellar’s perimeter and the foul smell increased. He looked back at Tom, who nodded, confirming Blake’s implied question. Reaching out to investigate why the wall looked so smooth, Blake felt a soft, moss-like coating on it.

He withdrew his hand, shocked to feel such an unexpected texture, and reflexively brought his palm up to his nose to smell it. Microscopic particles of the nefarious mold invaded his nostrils and spread out through his circulatory system, eventually finding their way into his blood stream. Some time later, Blake came to in the basement’s backroom, wearing a fitted, burgundy colored blazer. Tom, fresh faced and likewise wearing a burgundy jacket, offered his hand to help Blake up. Without exchanging any words, the two of them left the basement. They emerged from a door that opened up to the school building’s main hallway. Walking in step, Blake and Tom marched toward the back of the school, joining a group of similarly clad students as they unloaded a truck. Boxes of matching uniforms were being received by the silent, efficient children, and stored in one of the classrooms inside. As Blake dutifully carried one of these boxes, he passed another drone in the hall. Unbeknownst to either of them, Blake and his son Matthew were reunited at last, and in more ways than one.

The truck driver who delivered the shipment of uniforms sat in the cab of his sixteen-wheeler, feeling extremely uncomfortable. Freddy Two-Tone Thompson had seen some weird things on his travels across the country, but the scene he watched in his side view mirror contended for the top position. He waited in silence for the team of children to finish retrieving all of the boxes from his truck’s interior. Two-tone jumped at the sound of a tiny fist rapping on his door. He didn’t see the child, whose miniscule stature was dwarfed by the large truck, and had to lean his head out of the window to find him. “All done” was the curt reply. Two-tone hopped out of the cab, warily walked around to the back of his truck, and locked it up. Another young girl approached him, sticking her hand out expectantly, and Two-tone handed her his packing slip. As she signed the invoice, Two-tone surveyed the scene. Burgundy jacket clad people, mainly children, placidly walked in and out of the school, carrying boxes and completing various tasks. The young girl handed the slip back to Two-tone without saying a word. He tipped his cap to her and turned on his heels, happy to get the hell out of dodge.

The recent hostile bid by Kraft Foods to buy out Cadbury Chocolate got me thinking. If Cadbury decides to go for this deal, it will be a shame. Delicious treats like Cadbury Mini Eggs, the Star Bar, the Dairy Milk Bar . . . and heck, even the entire Green & Black’s brand (yowza!) will suddenly be run by Kraft (formerly owned by Philip Morris, currently independent but partially owned by Warren Buffet) out of Northfield, Illinois. Hmm . . . this seems crazy, right? This seems like something out of some kind of Sci-Fi flick with flying cars and robot butlers.

Actually, no. This is pretty much old hat for Kraft. Ever savored a “Scandinavian” chocolate bar (that would be Marabou) at Ikea? Yeah, that’s owned by Kraft. Ever munched on imported Milka Choco Swing bars and thought, “Gee, these are just so European?” Yeah, they are also owned by Kraft. Oh, and Toblerone and Mozart and Prince Polo and Terry’s orange and . . . and . . . and . . . yeah, old hat, new chocolate. What a delicious manifest destiny.

The last three years have been a blur. I do not remember very many details of anything. I know that I was inpatient a lot. I know I was obsessed with coordinating everything with my socks when I was inpatient. Sometimes I see people who know me and I have no idea who they are.

I feels like three years just went by so fast and I have no idea what I did. One of my insiders burned all my journals, comfort items and my beloved stuffed animal. However, not everything was lost I used to hide journals everywhere so my family would not find them.

I recently hardcore cleaned my room and I found a few journals from inpatient stays. I was nervous to read them because I did not want to get triggered. So, I did not actually read them I just skimmed to see who was writing in them. I found it very weird because many insiders I do not know about wrote in the books.

Right now, I feel like I do not know a lot of insiders in my system. That is scary because where are they at now? I am not integrated, so I have no idea where they are. These parts names I have never heard before. In addition, they have a safe place inside, and I had no idea about that.

I hope that if they come out again that they do not take over my life. I do not ever say/write my abuser(s) names and these books of full of names.

Sometimes I feel like time is passing so painstakingly slow. I wonder if this is real or anything is real. I thought I was past this.

I do not like looking at the past and sometimes I feel like I live my life through my past.

published: EzineArticles.com 9/16/09 http://tinyurl.com/ygkwyr3

So you have just been handed the golden scepter. You’re at the helm of the family business and you are filled with ideas about how you’re going to change things for the better. You suspect you might run into some challenges, but it’s nothing you can’t handle, right? I mean… you’ve managed people before. In fact, you’ve worked at some big companies and have taken over several departments of varying sizes. A family business? Should be a piece of cake!

Here are five “first steps” to get you going in the right direction:

1. Find out who’s really the boss. Before your first day on the job, meet with the current owner and talk about their level of involvement in the business. Will they be on site every day or will they want a weekly/monthly update on progress? Lay out some guidelines for who will be making decisions about the business. Key areas to discuss are finances, employee hiring and discipline, and anything that is “off limits” for change.

2. Have a plan. Daily tasks can overwhelm any business owner and drown out the overall vision. Make sure you’re vision is clearly identified in writing so you can easily reference it. Some folks do this in a formal business plan and others simply journal in detail about where they are headed. Whatever your method, just make sure to have it. You will likely need to refer to it, adjust it, and perhaps cling to it if the waves get choppy.

3. Get to know you’re people – and let them get to know you. You’re going to make some mistakes as you embark on this adventure, so let your team know that you’re human and you’re in it with them. When they succeed, everyone wins. Some new owners like to make an “all employee” speech and others simply integrate more gradually onto their team. Whatever your method, it’s a great strategy to spend some time working alongside each one of your key employees. They will feel like you understand their contribution and struggles on the job, and you will have a better appreciation for what they do. While you’re chatting, ask your employee what they see as the biggest opportunity for the business. I also ask “if you could change one thing about your job/this company, what would it be?”. If you can change it for them, and it makes sense for the company, do it. They will never forget it.

4. Find a business mentor outside your family and friend circle. When your sister doesn’t show up for work, and you learn your nephew is skimming money from the cash drawer, you will need a level headed person to keep you on course, not just take your side. Find someone you respect who has run a profitable family business for at least 10 years and has kept a good relationship with their family and employees.

5. Celebrate success. Remember that vision you have for your family business? Celebrate the milestones you reach and reward your team with something fun and meaningful. If times are tight, have a potluck and you provide the meat. Or, maybe you have cake and ice cream. Making the big bucks? Treat your employees and their significant others to dinner at a nice restaurant. A general rule of thumb is to provide smaller, more frequent rewards at first. This allows you to build up some momentum with your folks. Later, when the team is going strong and steady, the annual dinners out on the town are fantastic. Whatever you choose, make sure you choose a reward with your team in mind. After all, they helped your business become the success it is today. Let them know you appreciate their hard work and share what great things are in store for their future.

Running a family business can be one of the most rewarding, and challenging, tasks you will ever undertake. It can be done successfully, however; and I hope these five steps are helpful to you.

I’ve always loved Polaroid pictures, I think they capture an ionic abstract moment in time and preserve it forever. The viewer is then always actively encouraged to then ponder the image, make up any story with their imaginations. As people too often say, “A picture tells a thousand words”.

Even Breathe Me by the singer Sia, uses a bunch of Polaroid pictures in her music clip, to merge moments in her past with her current reality. It’s an absolutely enchanting song, just listen to the words. If you want to watch:

In other news, NASA is bombing the moon with missiles. To find water. Seems like a good plot for a movie/novel, I must say the people at NASA have a lot of time on their hands.

“And at the last possible minute, the missiles were launched into the cloudy night sky. Spotlights flashed around the compound, shadows running away in fleeting glances behind. If everything went according to plan, the moon would be completely destroyed and Earth would turn into the new breeding ground for chaos, which laughed maniacally. And no one would be the wiser, species would flourish, others die out. Yet he didn’t seem to care, the one person who could have stopped all this from occurring. No, he did it for money. Money is the root of all evil, he mused..”

However I was also pondering about the disturbance of the moon. These missiles are going to take out a portion of the moon, when they crash land, sending up a massive dust cloud. Will this have any impact on earth? Or is it an insignificant amount? Will the moon’s gravity be affected and in turn earth’s volatile oceans? Well, for one I will be very interested in what NASA finds out and achieves.

-Sparkles.

P.S. Restaurant City users have risen to 16.2 million, Cafe World users to 10 million users. ;D Will we see a take over soon enough?

Today’s letter to the senate. Many of them are working on a compromise with the democrats that will indeed involve a public option to healthcare. Any option that gets the government involved in our healthcare is a bad one. The Republicans have already let the camel’s nose get under the edge of the tent with their “democrat-lite” act over the last 15 years. The camel is still there, trying to get in. The Republicans have an opportunity to smack the camel’s nose and keep him outside for a little while longer. Petition your elected officials to reject this move toward socialized medicine.

From: Gadget

October 8, 2009

To: Senate Republicans

Subject: Compromises on Health Care and the Relevancy of the Republican Party

Dear Senators:

News reports indicate that several of you are bending to pressures to compromise on the democrat healthcare plan. This is exactly why Republicans lost so many seats in the last election, and exactly why you will become totally irrelevant in the next election should you compromise on this and several other issues important to American voters such as illegal immigration, and gun control.

Conservative voters have come to view the Republican Party as “Democrat/Liberal Light.” Since losing the momentum in 1994, you have compromised your way into being indistinguishable from the democrats. You spend too much, and on the things that you are constitutionally mandated to do, most notably provide national defense, you spend far too little. As an example, you recently passed a bill that would prevent the Air Force from retiring old fighters until they explain how they will be able to sustain the air sovereignty mission. The simple answer is THEY CAN’T!

Why can’t the Air Force realistically sustain the air sovereignty mission? Because you and the congress have shorted them year after year on the money they need to keep ahead of emerging threats. The money you have given the military has so many political strings on it that the effectiveness of each dollar provided has been cut in half or worse. You only signed on for 187 F-22’s. When China, Russia, and their surrogates are now and in the near future fielding large numbers of similarly capable 5th generation fighter aircraft, tell me how 187 fighters can maintain air superiority over a nation as large as the United States, and simultaneously maintain air superiority over the battlefields we can expect to be on in the (possibly) near future? As good as the F-22 may be, it can only be in so many places at once. The same can be said of the C-17 that has not been purchased in large enough numbers to replace the C-141. The fleet can carry more tons of cargo than the C-141 fleet, but can’t be in all the places you ask it to be at the same time. Not to mention that much of that fleet is already aging to the point where replacement or service life extension is needed. Our 1950’s era tanker fleet? Don’t get me started.

While depriving the military of the men and equipment so badly needed to ensure that the daily premiums on our national freedom insurance policy are paid in full, you and the congress squander that money on unconstitutional vote buying measures. You give benefits to illegal aliens, you won’t stop illegal immigration, and you prevent local and state law enforcement from doing the job that you WILL NOT DO.

You are wasting OUR MONEY, and our TRUST IN YOU. This is your last chance to prevent the hard left turn away from the centerline of the American way of life. Realize that the democrats do not need you to pass the healthcare legislation. They are trying to use you as “human shields” when their plan fails. Do not compromise on this. Do not let them make “useful idiots” out of you.

Sincerely,

Alan Keyes: Government Will Stage Terror, Declare Martial Law
Source: Gandeste.org

Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes has given perhaps his most dire warning yet, saying that the Obama administration is preparing to stage terror attacks, declare martial law and cancel the 2012 elections, which is why they are demonizing their political enemies as criminals and terrorists.

Keyes is best known for his performance during the 2000 Republican presidential debates, when he was accredited by many media outlets as being the clear winner during a series of debates with George W. Bush and John McCain.

“It’s obvious that they will stop at nothing,” Keyes told attendees of a reception in Fort Wayne, adding, “We may wake up one day and there’s a series of terrorist attacks, the economy is paralyzed….martial law will be declared everywhere in the United States and it won’t end until the crisis ends.”

Keyes said that Americans should be thankful if they even see another election in 2012, stating, “If we don’t wake up and work to see that it happens, we will not see another election.”

“The minute they think they can get away with it, they will end this system of government and that is their intention,” added Keyes, noting that everyone acting as if the time we are in was just “business as usual” reminds him of the attitude of politicians in the Weimar Republic when Hitler was rising to power or eastern Europe when the Communists were taking over after the second world war.

Keyes said that because the majority of people are decent-minded, they believe others will play by the rules when this simply isn’t the case, warning that this attitude will allow evil to take over before we can do anything about it.

“It is so clear that we have now put a faction in place – they are not playing by the rules and they don’t intend to play by the rules – if they were playing by the rules they wouldn’t have tried to identify their opposition as criminals,” added Keyes, making reference to the recent controversy surrounding the release of the MIAC and Homeland Security reports, which implied that Americans who exercise and are knowledgeable about their constitutional rights are a threat to law enforcement and potential domestic terrorists.

Keyes said that the only solution was from the bottom up because our leaders “are so gutless that they won’t even ask that the Constitution be enforced for clear, plain, absolutely unequivocal requirements,” and respond meekly with “their lips shut and their hearts terrorized.”

Keyes also warned of Obama’s agenda to create a civilian security force and said it was part of the ultimate agenda to disarm American citizens and create a police state.

Keyes has been a vocal critic of Obama, warning that he is a radical Communist who is determined to destroy America, and that if his agenda is not stopped then the country as we know it will cease to exist.

…FDR wrote those words in his first Inaugural address – but today there is plenty to fear! Our new socialistic government unfortunately is NOT new and has been in place since FDR’s presidential era. How did it get here? The theories of capitalism, socialism, communism, any kind of “ism” looks great on paper but when entertained in reality the price to achieving those lofty ambitions are high. Reason: PEOPLE.

There is always one person who puts the gum in the machine to screw up the process. There is always one person who is so compelling, so determined and charismatic that they lead the sheep to the slaughter every time. JIM JONES was one of those people promising his followers a life in Utopia and then took them to a far off shit hole to feed them koolaid and kill a congressman. Religious leaders who are crazy can mask themselves into desirable men especially if they are the type of people who can mind fuck you into thinking you fell into shit and are so lucky. Of course it is a two way street and the person or VICTIM must believe so whole-heartedly in the person they succumb to their charms and then take the abuse and torture willingly because that is “the way” in that person’s life. All the VIC wants to do is live to serve that person they idolize. Sick? YEAH but productive for the USER.

You can have heaven on earth if you are part of the USERS. Think of it? Hundreds (not even), maybe you have 10 people going out to work FOR YOU!!! Going shopping FOR YOU!!! Doing your taxes, wash, dishes, feeding you, supplying you sex, buying pot for you, other drugs, buying you things, giving you money, loads and loads of it.

Would you want to live this way? If you do then you are a USER. I don’t and I’m no VIC! I am in between these two and see the world for what it really is – AN Opportunity – what road do I chose to walk down? Which path will gain me more prestige and money? What people should I network with and why?

I believe when one door closes another opens and it continues that way because the universe gives you opportunities and it’s up to you to act upon them. It’s not GOD or JESUS — in reality it is just little old YOU making the decisions, good or bad.

I fear – the US Government because since 2000 it has gotten too powerful and I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT THE PRESIDENT’S ADMIN or the President himself – I’m talking about our CORRUPT CONGRESS and OUR SENATORS and our local officials – GOV’s, MAYORS, COUNCILMEN, our local MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS who don’t listen to people’s complaints and do what they want, when they want.

When is America going to stand up and stay – OKAY – WE’RE HAD ENOUGH BECAUSE IT SHE DOESN’T DO IT SOON – WE ARE ALL GOING TO BE IMPRISONED FOREVER IN OUR OWN STUPIDITY.

A hostile takeover allows a suitor to bypass a target company’s management unwilling to agree

A hostile takeover allows a suitor to bypass a target company’s management unwilling to agree to a merger or takeover. A takeover is considered “hostile” if the target company’s board rejects the offer, but the bidder continues to pursue it, or the bidder makes the offer without informing the target company’s board beforehand.

A hostile takeover can be conducted in several ways. A tender offer can be made where the acquiring company makes a public offer at a fixed price above the current market price. Tender offers in the USA are regulated with the Williams Act. An acquiring company can also engage in a proxy fight, whereby it tries to persuade enough shareholders, usually a simple majority, to replace the management with a new one which will approve the takeover. Another method involves quietly purchasing enough stock on the open market, known as a creeping tender offer, to effect a change in management. In all of these ways, management resists the acquisition but it is carried out anyway.

The main consequence of a bid being considered hostile is practical rather than legal. If the board of the target cooperates, the bidder can conduct extensive due diligence into the affairs of the target company. It can find out exactly what it is taking on before it makes a commitment. But a hostile bidder knows about the target only the information that is publicly available, and so takes a greater risk. Also, banks are less willing to back hostile bids with the loans that are usually needed to finance the takeover.[citation needed]

We’re so excited to have Aaron Shust, Chris Sligh, and Meredith Andrews here this weekend! It’s Chris Sligh’s 2nd Annual Back to School Tour – The Stimulus Package, and Aaron Shust is headlining!

Aaron called The Pulse this week to talk about the concert. With his amazing voice, talent, and musical ability… have you ever wondered why he decided to go into Christian music rather than secular?

You can catch the concert this Sunday (Sept. 20) at Tornstrom Auditorium in Brainerd. The doors open at 6:30pm and the concert begins at 7pm. Here’s what Aaron Shust hopes the concert will be like:
