Pengertian MySQL MySQL adalah suatu perangkat lunak database relasi (Relational Database Management

Pengertian MySQL

The quest for order is a double-edged sword.

Faced with a series of similar tasks, you may feel compelled to put away all your tools after each one.

Such behaviour is patently obvious on an office desk.

You’ll signify the completion of each job by sweeping every pen, pencil, paper clip, calculator, ruler etc into your draw.

After tasting the brief satisfaction of seeing your desk completely clear, you’ll then unpack your tools ready for the next job.

You may even place each tool in its own special spot.

Though this toing and froing is arguably a waste of effort, you’ll receive frequent compliments on the order and cleanliness of your work space.

You’ll also know the instant someone ‘borrows’ your ultra-fine mechanical pencil.

Whereupon you’ll immediately start hunting through the entire building until you get it back.

As this may amuse work colleagues, it’s a good idea to keep identical back-ups for each of your ’core’ tools.

This way, you can finish the job at hand before commencing your search. Though anxiety about the missing item (and speculation as to whether it was stolen, by whom, and why) may prove too distracting.

Antarctica is naerly twice the size of the United States. The name Antarctica was coined to mean opposite to the arctic. Almost all landmass of antarctica covered by ice, in the arctic the landmass are grouped around the ice covered Arctic Ocean. Therefore the climate both of them is very different, Antarctica is the coldest area in the world. it is about 30 degrees colder than the Arctic.

At the American south pole station, the winter temperature sometimes far below -100 degrees F. A temperature of -127 degrees F was measured in august 1960. it is the world’s record low temperature.

the different climate cause the land animal and plant of the two regions are very different. On continent of Antarctica there are very few plant, in some of few ice free areas of Artarctica found mosses, lichens, and algae. On the arctic there are very many plant. The land animals of Aarctic are foxes, bears, reindeer, and lemmings. These animals are unknown in the Antarctica. Penguins populate Antarctica but dont exist int the Arctic.

Ice is the great feature of Antarctica. More than 4.5 million square miles areas covered by ice. And the rivers of ice called glaciers, push down the mountains. The icecap is very thick, avarageing nearly 8,000 feet, and the scientists have found the distance from the surface to the rock undermaeth the ice to be more than 13,000 feet.

so, the different climate cause the many the difference of two areas.

Similar to the majority of society, when I hear something via the news, gossip, radio, etc and want

Similar to the majority of society, when I hear something via the news, gossip, radio, etc and want to know more, the first place I head to is Google. I am true to Google, and I find that it rarely lets me down and is very helpful. Number 2 on my list? Wikipedia. These sites make information easy to access and have great readability. Of course, I can usually discern between helpful information and information that may not be true. But, to some degree, I have a great deal of trust in the internet. Like many people, I believe that people are mostly good, and that many things on the internet can actually aid me in my daily life.

Unfortunately, not all of society is good. Of course, the danger of the internet is completely overblown. Not every teenage girl who enters a chat room is going to be a victim of some gruesome kidnapping spree. In fact, that girl is more in danger from her own family than an internet. The fact is that children using the internet are going to excel in many ways. What we, as teachers and parents, need to do, is to teach responsibility while using the internet. There are places children should not go, and the majority know that. They have to exert responsibility while using the internet, knowing that not everything they read is true and that they cannot act out whatever they read on posts. For example, check out this news story that happened on Friday on CNN about Facebook and a 12-year-old. Basically, someone made a Facebook page called “Kick a Ginger Day,” and a bunch of boys in California got together and beat up a 12 year-old redhead at their school. Is this Facebook’s fault? or is this the result of teenage boys not using their accessibility to the internet responsibly? There are many who blame Facebook. Maybe there should be stronger rules guarding what can get placed onto Facebook, but that gets into the whole concept of censorship. No one likes to be controlled my censors, and it takes away people’s rights and freedoms to post. It really all comes down to responsibility. I am responsible to know what Im reading on Google or Wikipedia, and we need to ensure that the future generations can use that same responsibility when they are on the web.

LIFESTYLE MANAGEMENT Are You a Victim of Hurry Sickness By VIKRAM KARVE A central element of lifesty

LIFESTYLE MANAGEMENT

Are You a Victim of Hurry Sickness

By

VIKRAM KARVE

A central element of lifestyle management is the skill to creatively balance achievement and work success with leisure activities, family life and social involvements.

Another critical aspect is the ability to feel comfortable at work and at home and to enjoy the experience of whatever is being done at that moment.

But nowadays, most of us are obsessed with getting results or completing one’s task. When task completion becomes more important than enjoying and understanding the work or activity one is doing at the given moment, a sure victim of “hurry sickness” is born.

The resultant constant sense of urgency is the trap of hurry sickness. One rushes to “get things done” to the point where it becomes an obsession.

Breaking this syndrome requires that you learn to enjoy experiences for the pleasure they give. When you gain pleasure from an experience, there is no need to get things done painstakingly.

Enjoy experiences, not rewards, and things will get done automatically without any constant stressful sense of urgency.

As defined from a psychological perspective, Hurry Sickness is:

“A pervasive and progressively urgent need to complete task in order to obtain rewards at completion without regard for other aspects of the work experience and by using maladaptive time strategies.”

They key causal factor in hurry sickness is the progressive need for task completion.

Enjoying what you are doing is neglected with a morbid urge to getting it done as quickly as possible, no matter what the activity.

The obsessive need for task completion extends to non-work involvements and activities like eating, playing, romance, making love, sex, leisure, having fun, loafing, taking a stroll, recreation, entertainment, leisure, sports, pastimes, hobbies, holidaying, exercising, lazing around, dozing, enjoying music, cooking, gardening, meditating, enjoying “doing nothing” and delightful timepass, what you consider “wasting your time” with your family, wife, kids, pet dog, friends…

This attitude of Hurry Sickness interferes with the enjoyment of these activities and experiences because of the persistent inclination to hurry up and finish it off.

Getting things done has become such a strong need because the payoffs or rewards for completion have assumed primary importance.

Your work experience has taught you that rewards always come at the end of the activity after you have put forth great effort to achieve a goal. You do not realize that happiness is not a destination but the manner of traveling.

Not only do you feel a sense of personal satisfaction from your achievements, but tangible rewards, such as promotion, cash incentives, awards, and advancements are given to you as well. With time, these rewards have become clearly linked with your self-esteem.

Each time you “succeed”, your ego, your inner self, sends a message to you which says, “You have done well. You are a commendable person because you succeeded again.” Your need for this kind of reassurance has become stronger than you would care to admit.

Time-Urgency quickly becomes a strong internal driving force towards task completion. Your life becomes a frenzy of completing one task after another. You are obsessed with time and wasting any of it becomes almost a mortal sin.

You strive to maximize your productivity by using time ever more efficiently, but you also have a sense that you are controlled by time and you don’t like it. Time is both your challenge and your enemy. A telling sign of hurry sickness is that even while relaxing, you are constantly fighting time-urgency and this that causes you unrest and never allows you to totally “switch off”.

Another way to seek to increase your output is to adopt maladaptive time-strategies. These questionable tactics do help you get more done over the short run, but you pay a heavy emotional price.

You now do everything faster, you have learned to “multitask” or “double up,” to do two or more things at once, and you are constantly preparing for what is coming next before you are finished what you are doing now.

The insidious trap is that you get something done quickly even when there is no reason to get anything done at all.

You hurry when there is no need to hurry – even when you have all the time in the world.

Because of your emphasis on task completion, you focus on finishing without regard for other holistic aspects of the experience.

In short, you have lost the ability to enjoy yourself while doing anything because of your incessant drive to get to the finish line.

Because you are afflicted by Hurry Sickness, you have lost the ability to emotionally rejuvenate yourself. Chronic fatigue and pessimism are symptoms of this malady.

SIGNS AND SIGNALS OF HURRY SICKNESS

Here are some behavioral signs, symptoms and signals that indicate hurry sickness:

1. Eating.

You now eat in the office while continuing to work or you just skip meals altogether. You multitask while eating. At home, you eat fast, gulp your food, finish meals well ahead of everyone else and eat in bigger bites without savoring the taste of food. Sharing pleasantries at the table is minimal because you cannot sit long enough. Ask yourself – are you eating mindfully and relishing every morsel of your food?

2. Sex.

Relaxed romantic sex and unhurried love-making is but a pleasant memory. The frequency has reduced and even when you do indulge in sex, it is a quick encounter and you are off to sleep or on to some other more “important” or “urgent” activity. Sex is less spontaneous and more mechanical these days. Love-making has become another hurry-up-and-get-it-done-with activity. Worse, you often indulge in “faking it” in order to get it over with in a hurry so you can quickly get on with the more “important” and “productive” things in life – your “high priority” activities!

3. Communications.

Your communication patterns now focus squarely on the negative. Feedback to others emphasizes mistakes and failings and you rarely compliment or offer sincere support to anyone these days. You don’t take the time any more for pleasant chat with family and colleagues. You have stopped listening. You make demands instead of working cooperatively with others or team-building. And hey, are you on your cell-phone most of the time?

4. Leisure.

You put aside less time for relaxation and you enjoy it less when you actually try to relax. Time-off is now more of a hassle than it is worth. When you sit still, you feel uncomfortable almost immediately. You have lost the ability to “do nothing” – it’s difficult for you to loosen up and enjoy an idle hour relaxing, doing nothing. Ask yourself why you work – reflect, contemplate, think about the fundamental reason why you work and realization will dawn upon you that the primary reason you work is to be able to enjoy your leisure, so why aren’t you taking a vacation every day and learning how to enjoy your leisure with full awareness?

5. Family.

Family members now “report” events to you, but you share little of yourself with them. You and your spouse argue more than you talk. The satisfactions of family life have diminished in quality and quantity. Your impatience is just as strong at home as in the office.

HOW TO CURE HURRY SICKNESS

Because you have hurry sickness, your initial tendency is to effect and expedite your “cure” in a hurry too.

But this hurry-up-and-get-it-done attitude may actually sabotage your recovery. What is required is patience, perspective and the ability to deal with setbacks in healthier ways.

It is easy to blame hurry sickness on the pressures of your job, the stress of daily living and what you have to do to survive in the fast paced world of today and on the insensitivity of the complex modern world. While each of these perceptions has a grain of truth in it, the fact remains that most of the responsibility for hurry sickness lies within you.

Your drive to get ahead is the real root of the problem and the fact is that you have lost all sense of perspective. Until you accept personal responsibility for your present state, you will not be in a position to confront and reverse the real mischief, damage and harm caused by hurry sickness.

Remember the well-known story of the hare and the tortoise.

Decelerate your life a bit, slow down, walk leisurely instead of driving and do not carry or switch off your cell-phone where you can, don’t multitask, do one thing at a time with full awareness and mindfulness and learn to enjoy the experience of whatever you are doing.

Do you believe in multitasking?

Are you a victim of Hurry Sickness?

Why don’t you rid yourself of this malady and enhance your quality of life?

Sure, you can get rid of Hurry Sickness!

Just stop multitasking and focus on whatever you are doing at the present moment.

Remember: HURRY BURRY SPOILS THE CURRY.

It’s been six days since I posted this bit about moving my lovely, lovely iMac into a computer cabinet.

It still hasn’t happened.

And now my parents arrive tomorrow for the week of Thanksgiving.

(sigh)

Maybe I should have my dad help me make the move, etc.? I mean, when I go home to visit I always wind up (either by being asked or volunteering) doing some chores, projects and/or tasks; both consumer electronic and otherwise (I don’t much like the “otherwise”, but hey…it’s for mom and dad, right?). I think it would be good for dad to reciprocate if just a bit.

But he doesn’t actually get to touch my iMac!

http://www.sanna-annukka.com/home/

1) Background – What do you think is the background, which has informed this work? (Market, Competition etc)

This illustration is drew by Sanna Annukka. She is a half Finnish/half English illustrator working in London for the agency Big Active. Now she is collaborating with international companies like Marimekko and Topshop as well. The main influence on her artwork are Kalevala (Finland’s national epic) and nature, especially Finland’s forest in her childhood days.

What is Kalevala ? (Form Wikipedia)

The Kalevala is a book and epic poem which Elias Lönnrot compiled from Finnish and Karelian folklore in the nineteenth century. It is held to be the national epic of Finland and is traditionally thought of as one of the most significant works of Finnish literature. Karelian citizens and other Balto-Finnic speakers also value the work. The Kalevala is credited with some of the inspiration for the national awakening that ultimately led to Finnish government’s independence from that of Russia in 1917.

This illustration called “Maidens of the Midnights Sun”, it is form the “Maiden” series design. During the final year of university, Sanna Annukka created a range of some edition silkscreen prints of “Maiden” designs. Now every year two new “Maiden” characters will get print as an ongoing range.

2) Audience and context – Who do you believe is the target audience? What is the context for this piece of communication?

I didn’t find some resource about the designer’s target audience, but I fund it has a great amount of fans, from children to adults, however, most of them are females. People like it because its clean lines, bold colours and magical and imaginational theme, it is successfully expressed folklore by her unique patterned designs feature characters attracted people’s attention.

3) Executional guidelines – Describe the key words (mood, personality or visual qualities etc) that has informed this work? What are the materials, techniques and processes used to create this piece of communication?

Key words: folklore (Kalevala), nature, unity, lovely.

Inspiration: Kalevala, nature, eastern elements, Scandinavian design (50s and 60s).

Sanna usually use silk creen printing, sometimes use photoshop – after sketching, she scan these drawings into computer and use as template. Or creating block shapes/silhouettes and gradually infuse intricate patterns and details on top.

4) If you were commissioned to design this work yourself – what are the stages in the research and design process you would use? List as bullet points:

Research processes

Investigate the target audience, throughout questionnaire to get the feedback about what elements them like and dislike.

To understand the key meaning of folklore, and find the key elements which can present the specific folklore.

Investigate the artists who did the similar thing, learn from it and try to find various possible perspectives and ways.

Design processes

Make these elements (I found from research processes) standing out and attractive.

Apply various style until find the most appropriate one.

Experiment it throughout the audience, and do some modifies according to their opinions.

5) How might these processes relate to your own research?

It is very relative to my project, I want to create a kind of illustration which could express Chinese folk art, so this is a really good example for me. From Sanna’s artwork, I can learn how to come up with strong visual ideas that would reflect our national folk art, she offered me a very important way to attracted the audience as well as reflected the culture.

Monday mornings I spend some time in the mornings doing what I call, “load-ins”. When I

Monday mornings I spend some time in the mornings doing what I call, “load-ins”. When I used to work at Lowes (the finest home improvement facility in all Warsaw Indiana) in college, we would get shipments from various trucks at the beginning of the week that needed loaded into the store. While the truck would come and dump everything off on Monday, it would take the majority of the week to get everything set-up and in place throughout the various departments in the store.

Therefore, on Monday’s I “load-in” or put everything on a to-do-list that needs accomplished throughout the week. I spend some time placing the “load” on a schedule then sort them out according to what needs to be done and when it needs to be done by to have the maximum impact. Here’s what a typical Monday “load-in” looks like for me:

Weekly Load-In List

Church

Prepare and study for College Sunday School Lesson

Update Website(s) – youth/church (if needed, includes facebook pages)

smallGROUPS prep and development

GeNESIS (Youth Group Sunday Night Prep)

Introduction/welcome Video (burn onto DVD if needed)

Worship Set (usually 3 songs set-list)

Worship Slides

Game(s)

Any Other “special” Activities

Lesson (prep and study)

Breakout Questions (if needed)

Staff Schedules

GeNESIS (Other)

Monday Morning Memo (staff e-mail giving updates and information)

Deeper Bible Study (Wednesday night core group study. Prep and study)

Contact students (we do this bi-weekly as a “check-in”)

Contact Staff (also bi-weekly to get a “feel” for how things are going and/or concerns)

5th Quarter Prep (only during football season)

Youth Pastor report (monthly)

Event Planning (This is a wide category that depends on the year. It is for retreats, conferences, or any other events we have coming up. I usually break this down deeper than what it is listed as here)

Other (church related material)

Softball (this is seasonal but it usually includes sending out an e-mail and doing line-ups)

Plan, prep, and study for speaking engagements or worship

Meetings (usually already booked. Some meetings take prep work, some don’t. It just depends.)

So as you can see, things need sorted out. Like I said before, on Monday I will break this down to gauge what needs to be done and by what day. It takes a lot of discipline to get everything accomplished but in ministry it is necessary because you never know who will pop in at random or what could come up (wedding, funeral, family crisis, etc.).

Other youth pastors:

What do you do in the week?

How do you organize and maintain your schedule?

What does a “load-in look like for you?

I would love to hear your responses.

I love my BlackBerry!

BlackBerry or CrackBerry? Top 10 reasons I love my BlackBerry handheld device:

10) I can blog just about anywhere!

9) Applications from facebook to iHeartRadio to games with more being developed every day.

8– Multimedia player is great for MP3s, or watch movies and videos during down time.

7) Google SMS! Weather, news, sports, business directory all from a quick text message query.

6) Web browsing for business or fun is simple.

5) Calendar keeps me on schedule. Address book has my whole database. Tasks too. All synch with my desktop PC.
