As promised, here’s another outfit from Zipz, a very cool goth/neko/tats store on a lovely got

As promised, here’s another outfit from Zipz, a very cool goth/neko/tats store on a lovely gothic sim of its own called Ithilien.

This is the Belted Tartan outfit in dark tones. It also comes in red as well – the dynamic duo of gothwear. The necklace and earrings are also from Zipz – the Ryon Light Metal and Black Stone necklace, and the Dark Metal Skull Cameo with Diamonds earrings. Didn’t I tell you they have great goth jewelry? I added the Dirty Biker Cuffs from Sn@tch, which I am pretty sure I won in the lucky chair (but I could be wrong coz that store is my second home). The boots are my “go to” boots – First Flower’s Valerian Boots. Hands down, my favorite boots on the grid come from First Flower – not only are they wonderfully detailed, but they are also reasonably priced for the level of craftsmanship. The hair is another I found in my inventory from Exile – this one was in a folder of gift hair. I have no idea how recent the gift is. The skin is, of course, my favorite goth skin – Zanzo’s Reborn. It’s like the finest translucent porcelain – sigh.

That’s it. Now stop reading the feeds, dammit, and get back to Black Friday shopping! You only have 5 more hours!!

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, lovin’ (^ ^), etc. *mwah*!

tattoo-pearcing.blogspot.com Tattoos have become a craze among young people today. But does the Bibl

tattoo-pearcing.blogspot.com

Tattoos have become a craze among young people today. But does the Bible have anything to say about the subject? Most would say no, but then, they would be wrong! God’s word plainly condemns such practices in Lev. 19:28, which reads, “Ye shall not…print [tatoo] any marks upon you: I am the Lord.”

A true Christian attitude is one of giving and service. It should demonstrate humility and modesty. A Christian should not appear strange or outlandish in attire. It fact, there are warnings against such attitudes and rebellion.

“Body art” and tattoos are generally motivated by vanity, sexual lust and rebellion; attitudes condemned throughout the Bible. Even if someone says he or she isn’t doing it for those reasons, we should avoid all “appearance of evil” (I Thess. 5:22).

Christians are told by God to be a light to this world (Matt. 5:13-16), and their body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. They must glorify God with it. God does not want graffiti on His temple (I Cor. 6:19-20). We must ensure that our appearance is clean, wholesome and modest. It must be based on God’s law.

First of all, Happy Turkey Day to those who celebrate it. I am stuffocated (that’s when you’re so full you can’t breathe – stuffed and suffocated. lol) with turkey, cornbread dressing, mirliton casserole, praline baked sweet potatoes, and many other delicious traditional Thanksgiving goodies. Non sequitur alert…..

Many, many months ago, I saw some really cool clothes on the feeds and tp’d over to a store called Zipz to grab them. I remember how amazed I was at the quality and the prices – the former high and the latter so reasonable. I was in my neko/fantasy phase at the time and was in “hog heaven” when I found that store.

Every now and then as the months went by, I would think about Zipz and wonder if it was still around, and if so, why no one was blogging them. Well, a couple of days ago, I decided to stop wondering and go on over to see if Zipz still existed. Yay! It does! It does! The prices are still so reasonable, and the clothes are still wonderfully nekoish, grungy, and sexy. And now the proprietor, Dunja Hian, and her partner Flater Baxter also have fabulous gothic jewelry and tattoos! So for the next few posts, I’ll be showing you some items from Zipz.

I don’t know how to classify this outfit. A friend said it made me look like I had just stepped out of the jungle, and it does have a “you Tarzan, me Jane” feel to it. Dunja Hian calls it simply “Fantasy Clothing Set – Salt,” but whatever you call it, it is very well done – and hand drawn of course, and it also comes in black. I paired it up this time with a choker from KOSH – a dollarbie that may still be available there. (The jewelry from Zipz is just too lusciously gothic for this particular ensemble.) The boots were a past lucky chair item at Studio M’z. The hair is an older style from Exile – and it is the first style I ever loved enough to buy the fatpack – this was way back during the Hair Fair in 2008, so I’m not sure if this style is still available. Finding this in my inventory reminded me that Exile has been making fantastic hair for a loooong time.

Here’s a closeup of the tattoo – it comes in three styles – brand new, faded, and very faded.

Next time… gothic/neko goodness from Zipz, including some yummy jewelry.

Before Matt and I had our asses tattooed earlier this month, I hadn’t been tattooed in a long

Before Matt and I had our asses tattooed earlier this month, I hadn’t been tattooed in a long while. I’m a huge fan of the art form – I wrote my thesis on it tattoos, afterall – and I’m always thinking of new images or ideas to have tattooed on me. I just don’t really act on it that quickly because 1) it’s very expensive and 2) I’m lazy. This month, however, seems to be a bit of an anomaly. Rachel told me about a tattooer from Toronto that was to be a guest artist at Soul Survivors – she does amazing work, particularly old school and traditional imagery. Given that I have been interested in having an old school sleeve for a number of years, Rach encouraged me to book time with the guest artist and take advantage of her being in Winnipeg. It all kind of happened in a rush – Rachel booked my consultation and appointment, I convinced my Dad that this would be the best time for us to get some matching old school tattoos, as we had been talking about, and away we went.

My Dad and I, after much discussion and many a Google Research Project, decided on an old school rose. His appointment was schedule to immediately follow our consultation. I told the artist, Jenn, what I wanted and some of the images that I was interested in, and she knew exactly what I had in mind. She quickly drew up a rose after our consultation and tattooed it on my Dad’s forearm. Sailor style.

My appointment was on Monday afternoon – I sat for a grueling five and a half hours and had all but one of the six images on my arm completed. There’s still a bit left to go – filling in the heart on the inside of my arm, adding a lock and key, and adding all of the filler (the dots and stars typical of traditional tattooing). I prepped myself for the pain of getting tattooed – mentally, that is, as I’m never a fan of popping pills or smoking drugs before getting tattooed. I’d much rather be lucid throughout the whole experience and, really, the pain is all part of it, so, in my mind, if you can’t hack it without painkillers, don’t do it. I ain’t a cheater! All gloating aside, I had prepared for the tattooing, but not for the after effects. I had a really difficult time sleeping that night – moving around was really awkward and uncomfortable, and after removing the wrapping the next morning, I realized that my arm had swelled up to what felt like that of the Incredible Hulk after he gets cut off in traffic. My arm is huge and beefy, like I’m part cave woman.

At any rate, this month seems to be the Month of Tattoos for me – first my ass and now my arm. It isn’t quite finished yet so I’m still a bit anxious to have the filler added, to give the whole thing a sense of cohesion. Until I can make it to Toronto with a couple hundred dollars in my pocket, I will bask in my swollen, new tattoo glow. At the risk of sounding like a touchy-feely hippie, I have to admit that being tattooed makes me feel so much more connected to my body (parts), and I’m always so much more proud with and confident in my body after it’s tattooed. The 18-year-old tiny tattoo really is the gateway drug to becoming a tattooed circus lady. I’m making my way there.
