Today we will cover another of the advantages of using a Soonr Pro account. With a Pro level account, you will be able to customize the branding of the shares for your team members and guests. We know how hard you work to establish your company name. Now you can re-enforce your brand when you share folders and files with team members and guests that are collaborating together.

Setting up your brand is easy using the Settings | Team Branding option in Soonr. After you log into your account as an administrator, navigate to the Settings tab and then click on the Team Branding option along the left.

Here are the first four (4) areas where you can extend your brand.

The first is your company logo. You can choose any graphics file that is in the proper (72 x 35) dimensions. The reason it has to be exact is that it will fit into the tab in the upper left of each page. Use any graphics editing program to re-size your logo if necessary.

The Support area will enable you to customize your support options and messaging to your team members or guests. They will see this whenever they are in the settings area of Soonr.

Registration Email Sender name will appear in the invitations to collaborate that come from Soonr. When you create new users the invitation is automatically sent to them with brief instructions.

The Event Email Sender will appear whenever something happens that generates an email to a team member. Typical things are notifications of file changes, comments, or shares.

Rolling down the page, you’ll see the custom login page options.

You can give your Team any name you want in the Team Name area and also include a logo for visual reinforcement.

Create a custom login experience for your team!

After you define the elements, be sure and click on the “Open Login page” link to get the URL for your custom login page. This is what you will send to your team members.

Now when you share files and folders to collaborate with others, you will get a custom branded experience! This is another of the many reasons to go with a Soonr premium account for your business. You pay nothing extra for this ability. It’s included as part of the Soonr Pro service so you can “Do More Soonr!”

After saturday’s win against Australia – yeh, I know I keep banging on about it but WE BEAT AUSTRALIA – I wore my Scotland strip all day on Sunday. It felt different somehow from saturday. On Saturday it was match day and it was about all of us supporters together, part of the Scotland team, the sixteenth man. After the game, next day, in the cold light of day as the majority of Scots wouldn’t know a rugby ball if it hit them in the face, the strip means something different. For me it means “Look, Scotland has a rugby team that could be the soccer team into a cocked hat” “Your rugby team is the best, wake up and pay attention”.

I walked differently on Sunday: proud, upright, strong.

I am asking for some help
from my fibery friends.

Many of you know that my mom lives with us.  One thing she has wanted to do for much of her life was to travel to Africa to help people there.  Last year, she had the opportunity to go with a group that my husband & I have been involved with.  My hubby & mom travelled to Africa together and helped set up & run a medical clinic in Feb of ’09.

She is planning on going again this next Feb. to set up a dental clinic and provide dental care to people in Senegal, West Africa.  She is having a hard time raising the funds she needs to go…it’s just not coming in and she is starting to worry that she won’t have the money she needs.  Each team member needs to have raised a significant amount of the total $1400 by the end of December in order to secure their airfare & spot on the team.

I want to host a yarn raffle!  My plan is to collect donations of yummy yarn (I plan on contributing a few skeins of Malabrigo sock yarn and some Dream in Color Smooshy!) and then I’ll be offering the raffle entries for sale to help her raise the funds for her trip.

My goal is to collect at least 16 skeins:  enough for 4 lots of 4 skeins each AND I’d love to collect at least 25 mini-sock yarn skeins to create a Sock Yarn Blankie lot.  If I can do that and then sell 100 entries for each lot, I could meet my ultimate goal:  I’d like to see this raise $500 toward her trip and I know that is high-reaching, but I think we can do it!!

I’ll be collecting donations over the next week or so and then hopefully be ready to sell tickets in December, with the drawing to take place on New Year’s day!  So the tix could make great, fun stocking stuffers for your yarny friends, or you could ask for some entries for Christmas!

Everyone who donates will receive 1 FREE entry for each $10 increment that you donate.  (For example – if you donate a skein of Mal sock, which is an MSRP of about $19, you’d get 2 tix, each lot of 5 mini-sock yarn skeins would get you one entry).  Donated yarn should be like-new, still in the skein with the ball band, free of smoke smell.  (I know that many have pets, that’s ok)  Donors mail the yarn directly to me and shipping is up to you (however one skein of yarn mailed 1^st class in the US is usually under/about $3).  After the lots are posted, you’ll be able to choose which lots you’d like your “thank you” tickets entered to win.  If you have your own etsy store or are a yarn/fiber seller, I will link to your storefront on my blog!  Free advertising!!

“If there’s time to lean, there’s time to clean.” The conventional view of productivity is that the more a worker works and the fewer the breaks they take, then most productive they will be. But productivity is not that simple.

Co-workers of all different skill levels make up a work crew. So if a veteran tradesman and a novice take a lunch break together, the novice has the opportunity to socialize with the tradesman. He can learn a trade secret, he can get a mentor-style review of his techniques, he can pick up information about the purpose of the project at hand and how he fits into the plan to get it done.

The veteran tradesmen can get an idea of the novice’s interest in the project at hand their attitude toward the tasks they are doing, mishaps of family life that might strain the worker’s focus.

With the amount of background information and soft facts that can be exchanged, with the team-building that can occur, break time is an essential part of the day for workers, especially when guided productively by a savvy foreman.

Series: The Seahawks lead 13-9 and have won nine in a row, including 28-0 at Qwest Field in the season opener

Star power: Steven Jackson. Like every other defense that has played St. Louis this season, the Seahawks will have to brace themselves for the battering Ram. Jackson leads the NFC in rushing yards (1,031) and total yards from scrimmage (1,262) and the team in receptions (35). By running for 116 yards against the Cardinals on Sunday, the former first-round draft choice from Oregon State became the first back in Rams history to have five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons – and that includes Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, Jerome Bettis and Lawrence McCutcheon.

Unsung hero: James Laurinaitis. The rookie middle linebacker from Ohio State leads the Rams in tackles (76) and had 16 solo stops against the Cardinals. It’s just that when your only win came against the Detroit Lions and your defense ranks 29^th in the league not a lot of people pay much attention. But Laurinaitis is part of an impressive ’09 class of linebackers that also includes the USC trio of Rey Maualuga (Bengals), Clay Matthews (Packers) and Brian Cushing (Texans); Larry English (Chargers) and Aaron Curry (Seahawks).

On the spot: The run defense. Against the Seahawks? After they were limited to a franchise-record 4 rushing yards by the Vikings on Sunday? It’s all relative. The Rams rank 28^th against the run, allowing averages of 146.4 yards per game and 4.7 yards per carry.

Burning question: Kyle Boller? Really? Yes, and yes. With Marc Bulger out three to six weeks with a tibial plateau fracture in his left leg, Boller, the ex-Cal QB and former first-round draft choice of the Baltimore Ravens steps in. Boller has started before – 42 games for the Ravens from 2003-08 and two for the Rams this season when Bulger was out with a bruised rotator cuff.

One more question: What is a tibial plateau fracture? “It’s like a hairline fracture of the upper part of the shin bone,” Rams coach Steve Spagnulo told the St. Louis Post Dispatch on Monday night.

Marc Bulger, the Rams’ starting quarterback, will not play in Sunday’s game against the Seahawks in St. Louis because of a fracture in his knee.

Bulger was injured near the end of Sunday’s loss to the Phoenix Cardinals and a magnetic resonance imaging test Monday revealed the fracture. He is expected to be sidelined three to six weeks, the St. Louis Post Dispatch is reporting.

That means Kyle Boller will start against the Seahawks. He started two games earlier this season when Bulger was out with a bruised rotator cuff in the right shoulder. Boller has completed 49 of 81 passes for 481 yards, with two touchdowns and three interceptions, for a 66.1 passer rating.

So I was praying super Mario brothers today for the wii, it is abusive I played with my faysebook gf Erin and like the trolls we are, we ended up trying to team kill each other in teh game.

So heres how you TK in Mario other than the obvious:

1) Fire the shell at them while holding it

2) If you run close to em while they are on a ledge you can push em off

3) Use yoshi to eat them when they are slow and fire them at a mob

4) Jump on their heads when they are jumping across a gap

5) Send excessive taunts over while confusing each other (If your mario and weegee) on whos who ( i got confused) and i ended up dying.

6) Always deny the Power ups

7) Bum Smash them on their yoshis.

Just some of what we endured throughout the day. Its a good game i ended up with however 7 conitnues and Erin about 4 :\ so thats 35 + 20 so thats 55 lives wasted and we weren’t even mid way to World 2. But yeah, we are pro Team Killers now all we do is try and kill the other person as much as we can. LUL the mini games that require 2 people are lol, you screw around so badly for your team mates and just hope you pull the wrong card just for lols.

In any case it is a fun game if you can have people co-oping with each other, but trying to get em killed is twice more fun lols.

Organisieren, koordinieren, kommandieren, kontrollieren – die hölzerne, inzwischen weit verbreitete Sprache der Wirtschaftstechnokraten kündet von unfehlbarer Verwaltungseffizienz. Allerorten macht sich der neue Glaubenssatz von Industrialisierung und Verwestlichung breit. Von Stanford bis Tokio, von Madrid bis Dakar, von Athen bis zu den Pariser Vorstädten – überall befindet man sich im “Reich, in dem die Sonne nie untergeht”, im allmächtigen Managementimperium.

„Management“ heißt der kommunikationswirksame Verkaufsschlager der westlichen Industrieländer. Hinter dem Zeitgeist-Konzept verbirgt sich ein uralter, der westlichen Tradition entsprungener Begriff, der sich ursprünglich auf Haus, Familie, Gerätschaften und Haushaltsführung bezog.
Von Ökonomen aufbereitet und mit einer wissenschaftlich-technischen Aura versehen, wurde „Management“ zur Wirtschaftsdoktrin, zu einem Propagandainstrument der neuen Globalisierung eines Marktes ohne Grenzen.

Genau wie die großen religiösen und politischen Imperien ist auch das weltweite Management ein Teil der Geschichte. Wer den Versuch wagt, die Entwicklung der Gesellschaft über einen sehr langen Zeitraum nach dem Muster der Erdgeschichte zu analysieren, wird auf die „geologischen“ Schichten einer Zeitarchitektur stoßen, die den Ist-Zustand der Zivilisationen in sich tragen. Traditionen überlagern sich wie Sedimente, auf deren Oberfläche jeweils eine neue Epoche entsteht, die dessen harrt, was unausweichlich auf den Menschen zukommt.

Jede Form von Modernität ruht daher gewissermaßen auf einer verschütteten Vergangenheit, die sich der Mensch in Mythen oder wissenschaftlichen Deutungen zu erklären versucht. Doch um sich mit der Endlichkeit abzufinden, sie gewissermaßen zu bezähmen, bedarf eine menschliche Gesellschaft der Fähigkeit, die Schattenlinie zu erkennen, die jene Momente markiert, an denen Unumkehrbares geschieht. So gesehen, ist die lange Geschichte einer Zivilisation ein einziges, aus Schriftsedimenten bestehendes Textkompositum, durchzogen von eben dieser Schattenlinie, die eine nie endende Inszenierung der Zeit gestattet, eine Untiefe der Erinnerung, die ihr Spiel mit der Wirklichkeit treibt und dem Unsagbaren huldigt.

Der Film versteht sich als eine Reflexion über den globalisierenden Westen. Er will an der Oberfläche der Sedimentschicht unserer Epoche den Moment entschlüsseln, der eine neue Qualität gegenüber den Brüchen und Übergängen der Vergangenheit darstellt: Wir leben heute in einer Ideenwüste leben, die aus dem Irrglauben geboren wurde, dass die Menschheit – unter der Wirkung der wissenschaftlich-technischen Wirtschaftsallmacht – zu einer dem Glück geweihten und von allen Zwängen befreiten „Post-Menschheit“ mutiert.

Laut diesem neuen Glauben befinden sich die desaktivierten, zu bloßer Folklore verkommenden Zivilisationen auf dem Wege der Selbstvernichtung. Damit erübrigen sich die Analyse des Textkompositums der Gesellschaft und die Suche nach der Schattenlinie, auch ist es nicht mehr nötig, eine Gesellschaft mit ihren unfassbaren Geheimnissen, ihrer Verletzlichkeit begreifen und ihr schöpferisches Potenzial und ihren Umgang mit den ihr eigenen Todestrieben erkennen zu wollen.

Die Arbeitsthese dieses filmischen Essays ist ein Satz, den Jean Paulhan in einer Abhandlung über die kubistische Malerei verwendete: „Entfernt die Bäume, die mir den Blick auf den Wald verstellen.“ Diese Metapher aus dem Pflanzenreich habe ich mir zum Grundsatz gemacht, denn unserer Zeit fehlt es an Erklärungen; ein Defizit, das durch die Fragmentierung und Abschottung des Wissens weiter akzentuiert wird. Doch genau diese Erstarrung hindert uns daran, eine Welt zu begreifen, die aus den Fugen gerät, aber nach wie vor in tief wurzelnden, noch immer wirksamen Traditionen verankert ist. Manche dieser Traditionen sind im Untergang begriffen, andere aber trotzen der Gleichschaltung durch die westlichen Systeme.
In dieser Partie mit unsicherem Ausgang ist das weltweite Management – vom Westen als reines Instrument der Vereinheitlichung mittels wissenschaftlich begründeten Verwaltens konzipiert – ein neuer Einsatz/Trumpf.

Wie bereits frühere Filme des Autors stellt auch „Dominium Mundi – Die Weltherrschaft des Managements“ von Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftswissenschaftlern, Biologen und anderen zementierte Gewissheiten infrage. Die Methode des Films besteht nicht darin, sein Sujet – die Funktionsweise einer Zivilisation – zu zerpflücken und zu zerstückeln. Vielmehr seziert er es in der Manier des Kubismus: aus allen Perspektiven, von innen und von außen.

Grundansatz und Anliegen des Films ist es, die Fähigkeit zum Widerstand und die Fortdauer des „Materials Mensch“ sowie die immer währenden Widersprüche, die gewaltigen industriellen Umbrüche und die poetischen Rückzugsmöglichkeiten aufzuzeigen, die ein Film greifbar machen kann, wenn er mit der Gründlichkeit einer literarischen Erzählung vorgeht. Formal handelt es sich bei dem Film also nicht um ein Lehrstück, sondern um die Enthüllung miteinander verquickter Fragestellungen, die aus einem ganz einfachen Grunde undurchsichtig und schwer zu umreißen sind: Denn was der Westen vom Westen nicht wahrnimmt, kann auch in unsere Analysen nicht einfließen.

And I think, this can also teach us a lesson as managers and leaders. There is no doubt that one of the most important things we need to do as managers and leaders is to communicate. But we have so many channels. Just using one of them for all our communications is not enough. We need to create the right mix and to send the right messages using the right tools. We need to remember that some people are listeners and some are readers. We need to remember that some people like to get all the information online (on a computer and all the time) and some prefer to do it offline (not on a computer and postponed to a different time).

So for the leaders of church teams there are a couple of things we should always keep in mind.  Our main goal is to prepare the team to be ready to get in the game.  It is the goal of parents, small group leaders, class teachers, and the staff of the church to work together to prepare the team for the game.  We are to be the ones that coach with a willing heart for the benefit of the team not for our benefit.  So the question that I have is; “What are you doing to prepare your team to do to get in the game?”  How are you as the coach ensuring that your team is ready for the game?

Duo join forces to bring series to screen

Variety/Cynthia Littleton—It’s a potent combination: Stephen + Steven

Stephen King and Steven Spielberg are joining forces to develop a limited series based on King’s just-released supernatural thriller “Under the Dome.” DreamWorks TV has optioned the book and is looking to set it up as an event series, likely for cable. DreamWorks principal Stacey Snider was key in bringing the project to the company. Spielberg, King and Snider will exec produce along with DreamWorks TV chiefs Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. The book, which has earned strong reviews as a return to form for the prolific author, revolves around the drama that unfolds after an invisible force field suddenly descends on a small vacation town in Maine. As the locals fight for their survival, the town descends into warring factions led by enigmatic characters.

DreamWorks is starting to meet with writers for the project. The plan is to set a writer before shopping the skein to prospective buyers.

Spielberg and King have worked together in the past, developing a screen adaptation of King’s 1984 novel “The Talisman,” on which Spielberg has had the option for more than 20 years. That project has been developed as a feature, and it came close to being done as a mini for TNT a few years ago until it was tabled for budgetary reasons.

The “Dome” deal continues a burst of activity on the smallscreen side for Spielberg and DreamWorks TV. Among the high-profile projects in the works is a series about the development of a fictional Broadway tuner for Showtime. Another Showtime contender is a costume-drama revolving around the Borgia clan, penned by Neil Jordan and with Robert Zemeckis also producing.
