Im getting tired of these teasers!!!!!

The long national nightmare is over, I have a keyboard again.

Let us touch on a few things quickly before I go hang with da fam and watch football and eat so much turkey and mashed potatoes & gravy that it starts dripping out my ears!

First, trade packages were sended out to M. Ryan of Ryan’s Memorabilia Blog, Brian of Play at the Plate, and The Don hisself, Mr. Wicked Ortega late Monday afternoon.  And you’ll be pleased to know that I found the DeMetrius Williams Sweet Spot auto, Mike.  It’s pretty ridonkulous.  I have no idea if there be mail service on Friday or Saturday (I make up for my slowness by being oblivious! ), but if not, hopefully they will make it by Monday, and provide you all a slightly gentler landing coming back to earth after the long holiday weekend.

Addresses, I need addresses.  Who do I need addresses from?  I need addresses from Roll out the Barrell and Sooz of A Cardboard Problem so I can sends them stuff.  And I’d like to send stuff to Marie too, but I still don’t know if she wants any of the Linds/Canos/Martins/etc I have.

Ooh ooh ooh, here’s one for McCann Can Triple for when I finally get around to sending stuff to her late next summer (I REALLY hope I’m joking about that…).  Do you have many Braves hits, specifically Chipper Jones?  I got two Chipper jerseys in the five packs of 2005 topps Pack Wars I busted on twitter on Tuesday, and I was wondering if you’d like one of them.  I will scan them (and a bunch of other stuff) later today.  They are shiny.

I’ve gotten a TON of great cards in the last two days, and I can’t wait to scan them for you all to see.  So much stuff came on Tuesday and Wednesday that I didn’t even feel the need to stop in the card aisle on the way out of Walmart when I picked up the new keyboard.  An embarrassment of riches, to be sure.  I received all my larger things from eBay, and received a trade from Wicked Ortega that had one of the greatest cards I have ever seen, so business is about to pick up on the ol’ blog.  And somewhere in there, I will reminisce(sp?) about Allen Iverson, one of the greatest basketball players that ever lived, who called it a career yesterday.

Having drummed up hype over the past few days with numerous concept pictures, Core Contents has finally released the MV teasers ahead of T-ara’s comeback.

In a unique move, Core Contents have chosen to reveal MV teasers for Bo Peep Bo Peep and Like The Beginning , asking fans to vote for their favourite. The poll winner will then be used by T-ara as their title track for their promotions.

A friend of mine once told me that you can either make a big ripple in a small pond, or you can make a smaller ripple in a big pond, but in either case you would be able to see the impact.  Transformation is defined as a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance.  Things are changing everywhere, all of the time.  Often times, these things – mainly people – are moving so fast that we don’t get a real chance to stop and take a look around, to absorb the change that is happening all around us.  Although change is always occurring, sometimes it is more pronounced than others.  I have found that much like the plants and animals that change as the seasons go through transitions, significant events can also catalyze significant changes within people.

Significant events and experiences have the potential to change people on a multitude of levels.  But, just how those things manifest themselves within different people with that same shared experience can be as different as the individuals themselves.  Some are challenged mentally, others intellectually, or emotionally, even physically.  Then, change the setting and the context, pepper in an environment that is moving towards the far end of a spectrum, and sprinkle on some adventure to taste.  What seems to happen most of the time is something pretty extraordinary.  When something dramatic happens to somebody whether it be spectacularly great or truly tragic, there is always a certain glow about them that has changed in their presence from beforehand.  However, that change in their perspective, that transformation can say so much through something so seemingly miniscule that it can often go unnoticed.  These stories of transformation and shift in perspective make for spectacular images.  Where has your PERSPECTIVE shifted recently?

You guessed it! We’re watching Spider Man (and talking about loving God with all our strength). Here are some amazing spider jams to get you pumped up. My spider sense is tingling already!

Here are a couple things to consider bringing:

1. Clothes for three days (comfortable, be prepared for different types of weather).

2. Bible (however you choose to pronounce the good book, you might want to consider bringing one).

3. Extra money. For T-shirts, CDs, Snacks, etc.

4. Toiletries. Such as, tooth brushes, deodorant, tooth paste, deodorant, soap, deodorant, towels, deodorant, or deodorant.

5. Sleeping bag, or sheet, and blanket.

6. pillow.

7. Any snacks you might want to share with the group.

8. deodorant.

On my way to  Broadway I had decided at the last minute to walk one of the paths through Central Park to avoid the smell of vomit emanating from the Gingko trees in Autumn. But that was before I noticed two police officers standing next to  a vagrant sitting on the ground in an oversized black coat. Just to be nosy, I dismissed changing my route and dealt with the feeling of those awful-smelling Gingko fruits being squashed beneath my Converse.

“You mean you’re gonna tell me something completely different when you’ve been sitting here for like thirty minutes talking to yourself?” the shortest of the two officers asked the homeless man.

I smirked at the visual of this man with his oversized coat mumbling a bunch of nothing to himself… And that’s when I noticed the other police officer; let me rephrase that: And that’s when I noticed the sexiest cop I’ve seen so far. He had skin that would’ve felt like dough if I were able to touch it and the most striking blue eyes. I immediately thought of John Travolta.

Anyway, the homeless man was high out of his mind and shouting at the officers, but I couldn’t understand what he was saying. In the next couple of seconds, he was in the face of the John Travolta look-alike and it took nothing for John to whip out his handcuffs. His partner wrestled the man to the ground and John arrested him.

That just brought a whole new meaning to the phrase “New York’s finest!”

Early this morning, Junho and Junsu teaser were released…well, the other four members’ teaser have also been released and by what their message is saying…. it seems as though this album is meant for Jaebeom… however, it might again just be another spectaculation…

2PM and Child of Empire have released their teasers. 2PM (finally) hits us with “Tired of Waiting”, a rather fitting title considering the circumstances I think. It has a slower r&b feel. I’m pretty excited for it. They could be chatting to one another on the album and I’d still be excited though. lol.

Child of Empire also released their teaser. I’m really excited for this groups debut. I love that they have been having to do a bunch of street shows. It is great experience and I think it will make them be humble since they didn’t start on the major stages. The teaser is super catchy and sound great. I’m really excited for it.

As I mentioned last week, I’ve been working on a new edition of A Flock of Crows is Called a Murder that, among other things, restores the infamous missing epilogue, plus fixes various issues with the layout from the most recent edition, which was a scan produced by BookSurge of the original DarkTales edition of Crows.  This edition is now available at my Lulu storefront and should become available at Amazon.com and other outlets over the next few months.  I also plan to do a Kindle edition once the ISBN and distribution is finalized.  In the meantime, please visit my Lulu store and check it out there!

Another thing I changed is the teaser excerpt at the beginning of the book.  The original one emphasized the book’s more horrific turn as it nears the end of the story:

His mouth opened, forcing hers to open, too …

She felt the first clammy, sticky bubbles of slime coming out of his throat, dribbling into hers. Salty mucous, gunk like the stuff that had slurped out of the dashboard of their car after it had died by the side of the road. Her stomach heaved, heaved so hard she thought it should be strong enough to knock him right off her, though of course it wasn’t, that was just a desperate fantasy as the stuff choked her. She couldn’t breath; he had gummed up her nose with snot, her mouth was full of it. He wanted her to swallow, that was it.

What can I say? Back in the day, I liked to go for the gross-out, as they say. But the new teaser is from a scene earlier in the book, one that several readers have particularly liked:

Nick Garson had watched, with a sort of detached interest, as his hands had reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out his gun and started shooting at the man in the bulldozer …

It wasn’t until the bulldozer crashed into the pit that Nick began to think that maybe this was something he could get in trouble for; so he tucked the gun back into his jacket and went back to his car, thinking that he would just be moving along back to Buffalo, leaving no one the wiser that he had ever been here.

There were still a lot of loose bullets on the driver’s seat. He scooped them up before he sat down, and then watched his hands reload the gun. He wondered why they were doing that; maybe they were expecting to be called on to shoot someone else.

His two little friends were just sliding the clip back into place when he heard the sirens approaching. Somebody must have heard the shots and called the police. Bad hands, Nick thought. Bad, bad, bad! Loading the gun when they should have been helping him drive away!

The cop car came tearing in from the north, braked rapidly and stopped at an angle at the side of the road. Two policemen got out, looking around cautiously. They had their own guns out; he could see the weapons in their hands.

One cop reached into the cruiser and pulled out the radio mouthpiece and started talking into it, while the other kept his gaze flicking around the scene. They seemed quite wary. Reasonable, Nick thought, considering that there had been gunfire. Funny; he felt more like a witness than a perpetrator, as if he should run over to them with his palms in the air and say I saw who did it, officers, it was these hands here!

Of course, he wasn’t about to do something crazy like that.

An improvement? I think so. But still, in the end, this remains a horror novel, and that nasty mucousy stuff from the first teaser still plays a surprisingly major role in what happens at the end.
