Reminder, there will be no PowerScripting Live this week due to the US Thanksgiving holiday. Next live show is Dec 1st. This means the next episode won’t be released on the website/iTunes until Dec 7th.

The web page for the Office 2010 Beta has gone live and is showing three different versions which will be available for test.

Home and Business is one of the versions available and probably will be the most popular of the downloads, and it includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote,Outlook, and Office Web Apps.

Professional is the next version available offering Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, Publisher and Office Web Apps.

The final version which is available of the three is Professional Plus which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook with Business Contact Manager, Access, Publisher, Infopath, Communicator, SharePoint Workspace, and Office Web Apps and it mentions that it is only available to Volume License Customers.

All three are expected to be offered in both 32 and 64 bit, and if you are a MSDN or TechNet subscriber you can already get access to the download from your normal download area. I am downloading my copy and will report back with a review shortly.

gerade habe ich bei Georg Binder vom Windowsblog.at gelesen, dass die Office 2010 Beta auf TechNet/MSDN verfügbar ist!

Der Download der öffentlich zugänglichen Version wird dann denke ich auch nicht mehr lange auf sich warten lassen, es wurde die diese Woche statt findende PDC als mögliches Datum genannt …

The Microsoft New Version of Windows, Windows 7 is now released in the market. This post is for those who wish to try Windows 7 before purchasing it for their home or office computer.

Windows 7 Enterprise version is available for download at microsoft technet website. This is a trial version of windows which will expire after 90 days.

The download is about 2.25GB.

I have downloaded it and have installed in on my personal computer. This new version of Windows installed just in 15 mins on my new computer. The interface is great and the speed is much faster than Vista. One important feature is that the start up and the shut down time of Windows 7 has considerably removed.

The biggest app just got bigger – be ready for it.

Windows Server 2008 R2 editions are now available for download on the MSDN, TechNet and Microsoft licensing Web site.  While Windows Server 2008 R2 reached the RTM milestone the same day as Windows 7 it has taken a back seat with Windows 7 RTM releasing first last week.  Now that the initial download surge of Windows 7 has passed Windows Server 2008 R2 has be released for all subscribers and VL customers.

der Windows Virtual PC und der XP Mode für Windows 7 haben schon bereit Ihren RTM Status erreicht. Mit einem TechNet- oder MSDN-Abo hat man aber bereits schon jetzt Zugriff auf die RTM Version von Windows Virtual PC und dem zugehörigen XP-Mode !

Der Download umfasst einerseits das Update für Windows 7 sowie einem virtuellen Computer der als Download zur Verfügung steht.

Der Download hier läuft noch, die Installation wird dann aber natürlich gleich durchgeführt.

Egy hete voltam egy Microsoft előadáson (úgy gondolom egy jó IT fejvadásznak legalább annyira követnie kell a trendeket, mint egy informatikusnak), ahol az optimális munkakörnyezet volt a fő téma.  Itt persze rögtön el is térhetnénk a tárgytól, ha arra gondolok, hogy sokaknak valószínűleg ez azt jelenti, hogy az optimális az, ha békén hagyják, de legalábbis szabadságon van a főnöke. Nos nem erről volt szó.

Szóval optimális munkakörnyezet… Természetesen ITIL alapokra húzott MOF-on és minden Microsoft–ra bazírozva, ami nem lepett meg. Milyen is lehetne a tökéletes világ, ha nem Microsoft alapú, ahol színes ablakokon keresztűl tűnődhetünk el a világon; terelgethetjük bit és user csordáinkat és ahol a távolban a sűrűn rakott Service Packek között pillanthatjuk csak meg az  élet kvintesszenciáját?   A tökéletesség érdekében a Microsoft persze most sem találta fel újra a kereket, Operation FrameWork-jét teljes mértékben az ITIL szerint alkotta meg, ami okos dolog volt, ugyanakkor fel is merül bennünk a kérdés, vajon miért nem volt elég akkor az ITIL.

Hallhattunk a vékony és vastag kliensek közötti dilemmáról (itt a modellektől eltérően nem mindig a vékony a legszimpatikusabb), a virtualizáció újabb áttekintéséről (ebben még Morpheus és Neo is talált volna érdekeset), benne elsősorban a Desktop virtualizációról és a Windows 7 lehetőségeiről. Megtudhattuk azt is miért jobb a Hyper-V, mint a Vmware és mikor érdemes App-V-t használni.  Mindezek a technológiák arra hivatottak, hogy egyszerűbbé tegyék rendszerünk felügyeletét és, hogy minél inkább közelítsük azt egy monolitikus, könnyen menedzselhető egység felé, amit sajnos még a Windows 7–el sem tudunk teljesen elérni.

De hogyan is jutottunk el 2009-re idáig, hiszen volt nekünk már tökéletes IT rendszerünk? Gondoljunk csak a 60-70-es évekre: egy vállalati, sőt egyetemi IT rendszer 100%-ban a rendszergazdák birodalma volt. Ott állt a központban a “Számítógép”, amihez valójában senki sem nyúlhatott – max. kaptak egy borostyánszín terminált egy shell-el (semmi multifunció, ablakok, stb.), ahol megírhatta a felhasználó a programját és jó eseten beütemezhette mikor fusson. Nem volt demokrácia, de rend volt és fegyelem -  ez maga volt a digitális autokrácia kora, a tökéletesség.  Egy baj volt csak:  a felhasználóknak nem tetszett és ahogy megjelent egy cég, ami személyre szabott számítástechnikát kínált, a tökéletes világ alapjait alámosta a DOS és az őt profi módon meglovagoló Microsoft.  A bűn megfogantatott és innen nem volt megállás.  A felhasználók egyre több jogot követeltek és kaptak is, majd még többet és így tovább – ez vezetett el a heterogén rendszerek sűrűjébe, a színes-szagos programokkal szegélyezett hardware és software ingoványba, ahonnan csak az Orákulum tudja a kiutat.  Jó ez így nekünk? Világ rendszergazdái, egyesüljetek!
