Spring Cooking Classes: It’s my hope that these classes inspire people to feel more at ease creating healthy food from scratch, using whole grains and fresh ingredients. In a comfortable home setting, these classes are designed to equip guests with practical skills, nutritional and product information that encourage the transition away from processed foods and moving towards whole food meals.

Whole Wheat Bread and Chapathi’s Saturday, April 21 11am – 1:00pm $25.00

One of my favorite classes to teach…. foolproof Whole Wheat Bread and Whole Wheat Chapati’s, a flat bread enjoyed throughout India. The price of good quality whole grain bread keeps rising, so why not learn to make your own? You can make fresh whole wheat bread for under a dollar a loaf! We will prepare Whole Wheat Bread from start to finish and you will “make and take” a loaf home. A trouble shooting guide for bread making is included. While our bread is rising, your interest will be peaked as chapathi’s are demonstrated and you make your own. Guaranteed you will savor the simplicity of this wonderful flat bread and wonder at it’s versatility.

Pass The Veggies Please Saturday, May 19 11am – 1pm $ 30.00

Just in time for those fresh and local veggies, a technique cooking class that brings the best out of produce without the addition of cheese or butter. Retaining nutrients and enhancing natural flavors, we will braise, stir fry, pickle, sprout and roast old favorites and introduce you to some new ones. If you’re interested in eating more healthfully, wanting more veggies on your plate, or just looking for something new, you will enjoy this class. Assorted greens, bok choy and purple cabbage stir fry, braised kohlrabi with fennel and kale chips are a few of the star players. Plan on picking up nutritional tips and new cutting techniques that enhance the familiar. You will leave with new skills and recipes that will have your family asking,”pass the veggies please”! gluten and dairy free

All classes take place in our north side Spokane home. Recipes, beverages and “lunch” included. Space is limited and prepayment is required. Please e-mail me @ cookwithamyg@gmail.com if you are interested.

Thank You!
