If you haven’t already, go online with your copy of Tekken 6 console to download and install the spiffy new patch from Namco-Bandai. As previously posted about, the patch is supposed to improve online play, and so far… surprisingly it has! Word from forums is that gamers in Japan and Korea are raving about the improved play. I myself was able to play for quite a bit and I have to say, it’s a nice change to actually have some playable, mostly lag-free matches. I was able to fight matches from 4 to 1 bar connections, and all were far, far better than ever before (although most 1-bar matches are usually refused).

Anyway, this great stuff, and I look forward to actually playing more Tekken 6 online in the days, weeks, months and yes, years ahead. Kudos to Namco-Bandai for pushing through with this crucial after-release service, which may just give T6 a much-needed shot in the arm since the somewhat sluggish opening online performance. Hopefully more good stuff, like the Co-op patch and more will be forthcoming very soon.

Oh, and thanks to Ryuhza for helping me test out some long-distance Tekken 6 play. Good game, dude! Hahaha!

A continuación les pasaremos a detallar las mejoras que estarán incluidas en este parche.

• Respuesta mejorada: nos encontraremos con una notable mejora en lo que respecta a la respuesta de los luchadores a la hora de la pulsación de los botones y en la realización de las diferentes técnicas de combate.

Microsoft Vs The Mods!

No This isn’t Paul Weller releasing his own console, but  Microsoft has found itself embroiled in a lawsuit over its decision to ban some Xbox 360 owners from Xbox Live.

Texas law company Abingdon IP is searching for gamers to join a class-action suit against Microsoft. The problem has arisen since the computer giant decided to ban gamers from Xbox live who had modded their consoles to play pirated games. It is estimated that some 600,000 XBL accounts who cut dead.

The law firm, Abingdon IP claims that the ban is unlawful and that it believes Microsoft is obtaining information from consoles illegally.

They also claim that the timing of the ban is suspect, saying that Microsoft timed the ban “to avoid putting people off signing up for Xbox Live so they could play the recent Halo and Call of Duty blockbusters online”.

It says that if Microsoft had carried out the ban before these releases, sales of both games and Xbox Live subscriptions would have suffered.

The official word from Microsoft has been “All consumers should know that piracy is illegal and that modifying their Xbox 360 console to play pirated discs violates the Xbox Live terms of use will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox Live.”

If the law firm, who are actively seeking users who have had their accounts stopped, are successful it will be a landmark day for pirates everywhere!

Tekken It Back!

News arrives that Tekken 6 has gone gold (gone into production) on PSP, with a release date for Europe and UK for December 11th.

With all the features from the console versions Tekken 6 PSP adds ad-hoc wi-fi versus battling.

In addition to containing all 18 battle stages and 40 playable characters in the home console version of TEKKEN 6, the PSP game also supports ad-hoc multiplayer versus battles fought across four additional stages. Battle modes include Arcade, Story, Ghost, Challenge and Practice, while the ad-hoc wi-fi features include the ability to send and receive ghost data allowing fights against opponents’ characters even when not connected with them.

The Screen shots are looking great, we will have a review as soon as we can!

  YES. I did get Tekken 6, and of course. I played (or am playing?) the fcuk out of the game…
  Review?…COMING SOON.
• Unexpected for myself, yet HYPED up hardcore during the last month…
  The release of Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 2.
  Unexpected? Why?…
  I’m not so big on FPS games…but, after playing one of the biggest games of all time…
  I had to get it. Multiplayer FTW.
  Review?…Maybe?
• Games were not the sole reason as to why I haven’t been posting…
  I have a life outside games…;]
  Might have been mentioned before, but I had my major exams and I am glad that it’s all over!
  Plus, I had my formal/prom + socializing, etc., etc…

I’ve got basically nothing to do (atm).
Applying for some jobs and getting my driver’s licence are my current priorities…

Tekken 6

The producer of Tekken 6 told Playstation Europe that his team is planning the creation of additional DLC for this new fighting video game. What ever it is that they are planning, which sounds like it will be more than just a new outfit, it will be free.

When the Namco Bandai producer, Katsuhiro Harada, was asked if there are any plans for further downloadable content, and he responded in saying that there is a strong possibility that there will. If there is in fact one planned, he said that it would be free to the players as well.

This is pretty good news, because it makes it known that this is not just a quick patchup or fix. This seems to be truly added on content that you will be able to download for use. This is a good idea considering the issues the game had at first. Tekken 6 had online lag issues at first, that warranted the release of a patch to fix the networking issues. So I am pretty sure that they feel compelled to release any downloadable content that they would create for free, sort of in good faith as a response to their initial mess up.

The only issue I can see with making it free is that it would not be exclusive anymore. There are actually people out there that enjoy paying for their content, because it makes them stick out while playing online and it makes them exclusive in a way. Well, what ever the case is, if they do release new content for the game, it is good to know that we, the gamers, will be able to download it for free.

The King of Iron Fist Tournament returns with the latest installment, Tekken 6. The Tekken series has become a top contender in the fighting game industy, and this year has truly been a game for Fighting game fans with releases of major titles like Blazblue and Street Fighter IV. Does Tekken have what it takes to knockout the competition and go to the top?

Tekken 6 does not stray far from the formula that has kept the series going. The system uses four buttons to control the limbs of the characters, but its much simpler than it sounds. You use the buttons in combonation with directional pad inputs to create moves that can chain to combos, in true fighting game fashion. While not completly new, the gameplay has receieved refinements that change up gameplay styles. Added into is the Rage System that activates as a characters life dips to a low point. While not changing actually gameplay, it leads to quicker matchs and some tricky situations. Characters also now bounce much more when they hit the floor, which allows the other player to continue a combo after smacking a character down to the floor. This makes for some truly amazing combos. While characters themselves have seen moveset refinements and additions, the characters are mostly faithful to their previous counter-parts. The new characters are welcome additions to the tekken roster, adding even more variety to the mix. Characters like Bob and Lars add new and interesting fighting styles to the game.

While gameplay itself hasn’t changed much, the amount of different modes has increased. Added in is online multi-player that allows two players to battle it out in player matchs or ranked matchs with their customized characters or normal characters. While online is a great addition, it still has problems such as input lag that are present in both versions. Also added is a new campaign mode that is essentially the story mode of the game. The campagin mode revolves around the characters Lars and Alisa. The campagin is a throwback to previous tekken force modes, allowing players to play an arcade-style brawler campaign that uses moves for characters from the main game. While this sounds great, it lacks alot because it is repetative in gameplay and the control scheme is problamatic. While it is a nice addition, the reason to play the campaign mode is to gain more in-game money to customize your characters. Character customization is a feature from the previous tekken that has become even more defined in this installment, with more options of clothing for characters being made available for purchase as you progress through the campaign. The customization feature is vast and allows people to make very unique looking characters to use.

The style in Tekken 6 hasn’t changed much, with most character models staying relativly similar to their previous Tekken models. Tekken 6 keeps the intense, cinamatic vibe that previous installments had with detailed level structure and impressive effects. But, for Tekken fans what really matters is the gameplay, and as im sure you can tell at this point, the gameplay is good…very good. With the deepest combat out of the whole series and some of the most fun characters in the series, Tekken 6 truely stands out from the pack, and with the amount of fighting games this year it has alot of contenders. Tekken 6 is a must-buy for Tekken fans, and if your a fighting game fan or just slightly interested in Tekken, I think Tekken 6 may just suprise you.

Tekken 6 é a continuação da conceituada saga da Namco, sendo um dos lançamentos mais aguardados para PS3. Na E3 (sigla para Electronic Entertainment Expo, uma das maiores feiras de videogames e computadores do mundo) do ano de 2005, o título teve sua primeira apresentação num vídeo com Jin Kazama demonstrando algumas de suas habilidades marciais. Em 2006 foi a vez de Lili, uma lutadora que usa um guarda-chuva, numa cena onde ela andava por um vilarejo.
No mesmo trailer apresentado em 2006, Lili e Jin lutavam até Hwoarang aparecer de motocicleta num corte súbito da cena. O minifilme prossegue até atingir o ápice na transformação de Jin em Devil Jin, a versão do lutador após sucumbir aos efeitos dos seus genes diabólicos. O terceiro trailer data de fevereiro deste ano e introduz várias novidades como os dois personagens novos (Zafina e Leo), alguns estágios e o recurso de personalização dos lutadores.
É certo que guerreiros como Armor King, Asuka Kazama, Sergei Dragunov, Bryan Fury, Jack (cuja modelagem ainda não foi detalhada) e Lei Wulong prestarão as honras da sua presença em Tekken 6. A Namco já oficializou uma boa notícia para os fãs de carteirinha: o petardo sai ainda este ano.

Namco bandai por medio de un comunicado de prensa a informado que este mismo día 26 estará llegando el primer parche que traerá las siguientes mejoras:

• Respuesta mejorada: se ha mejorado la respuesta del juego a la pulsación de botones y la realización de técnicas.
• Selección de prioridades en partidas igualadas: los jugadores podrán indicar las prioridades en la búsqueda de oponentes en las partidas igualadas, basándose en el ranking o en la calidad de la conexión, así como el país de origen.
• Transmisión de datos optimizada entre luchadores y espectadores: se optimizarán los datos de combate para reducir la carga sobre el ancho de banda de la consola del anfitrión.
• Barras para indicar la calidad de la conexión: la barra que indica la intensidad de la señal reflejará la calidad de la conexión con mayor precisión.
• Poder cancelar un combate: en las partidas igualadas, los jugadores podrán cancelar un combate antes de que empiece, una vez se haya mostrado la barra de intensidad de la conexión.

Non ha niente a che vedere con l’introduzione della modalità multiplayer per la campagna , per quella c’è da aspettare anche se avevano promesso il rilascio dell’aggiornamento dopo l’uscita del gioco.

Here’s my first of two competitions for the Xtival weekend this November over the 27th-30th.

Xtival Sponsored event Tekken 6 Knockout Tournament!

The Iron Fist tournament hits Xboxliveaddicts! Prepare to battle it out in a knockout competition over the weekend to not only be the Iron Fist Champ! But the Champ of XBLA!

To take part in the event you’ll need to have a registered account with Xboxliveaddicts, a valid Xbox Live Gold Membership and of course a copy of Tekken 6!

Sign ups will begin from today until Thursday 28th November. Applicants must follow those rules above to take part and sign up via this thread with your forum username and your Live Gamertag.

The following Friday morning the thread will be updated with the first round so you can see who’s fighting who. Depending on the response, the event should run over Friday evening (7.30pm), Saturday evening 7.30/8pm and hopefully the final on Sunday about 7.30/8pm again to crown the winner who will win some great prizes (prizes TBC)

Rules:

- No characters are banned, though please refrain from using custom characters.
- The matches will last over 5 rounds, then both (or the winner) must report back to either myself (Mechanical R) or back on this thread who won so that I can prepare for the next set matches.
- Players are expected to be promt and on time, players may wait for their opponent to come online and join the match for as long as they like, but no shows are forfeits and the person who showed up will go through to the next round.
- You’ll be expected to keep an eye on either this thread or any threads on the site regarding this competition to ensure your kept up to date on the rules and who your opponents will be.
- Normal Microsoft Code of Conduct also applies, any reports of breaking of either our or MS’s rules will lead to disqualification.
- This competition is open to UK residents only.

A grande novidade é a chegada de Tekken 6 para PSP, a versão ainda conta com cenários e lutadores inéditos, além de modo multiplayer.

O Playstation 3 e Xbox 360 trazem apenas a nova versão de Karaokê Revolution, que conta com 50 novas músicas como I’ll Be There, ABC. Além da presença de Coldplay, Kelly Clarkson, All American Rejects, Incubus e Lady Gaga.

Hát. Szombat este jött át Dragonken mester, aki beállította a gépet. Ma délelőtt aludtam először.
A Tekken 6 jó.

Bár vannak benne hibák.

Szépen pontokba szedve kivesézek mindent.

Ez egy ilyen poszt lesz.

1) Történet
Nem lenne rossz, de valahogy nem is az igazi. A G Corporation és a Mishima Zaibatsu csatáznak (vagyis Jin és Kazuya), ami felébreszt egy gonosz szörnyet/istenséget. Hát. Ennyi.
2) Grafika
Nem vagyok egy graphic whore de ennél többet vártam, igaz,pár óra múlva megszoktam, és elkezdtett tetszeni. A hátterek kicsit puritának, és a színek sem az igaziak.
3) Módok
Van az alap Arcade, VS stb. mód ugye. Erre jön rá egy Scenario mód, illetve Online mód, ahol lehet ranking és sima meccseket is tolni.
4) Scenario
Na, nekem ez iszonyatosan bejött. Annyi gond van vele, hogy akik eddig nem szerették a Tekken Force módot, azokra ráerőltették, mivel csak itt lehete videókat, ruhákat kincsitni és sok pént szerezni. De én nem vagyok ilyen, és eddig kurvára bejött. Nem bánnám, ha ez így maradna, de szerintem nem lesz így.
5) Online
Az első negatívum, mivel szar a netkód. Ha nem laggol, akkor kapcsolat megszakadás (minden második-haramdik meccsnél nekem előjön), vagy be sem tölt, ráadásul 90%-ban lassan reagálnak a karakterek, volt, hogy 2-3 másodperces késéssel jöttek be a kombók. Élvezhetetlen sajna, ráadásul ha Ranking meccs van, és az ellenfél vesztésre áll, és kilép, akkor téged basznak meg. Ezt ki találta ki, rejtély.
6) Hang/Zene
Az új karaktereknek jó, viszont túl sok karakternek változtatták meg. Pl. Bryan röhögését kivették… Ezek miért vannak…?
7) Main
A main karakterem nekem Lei volt, de köze nincs az 5-ben szerepelthez, teljesen megváltoztatták. Fölfűdön fekve egyáltalán nem tudok küzdeni vele, ésnagyon sok időbe telt, mire megtanultam azokat a régi mozgásokat, amiket szerettem, és tudok is használni. Remélem belejövök.
Here Comes the New Challenger(s).
1) Leo Kliesen
Nekem ő a hátterem PS3-on. Nagyon megszerettem, elég jól tud harcolni, taktikus, és juggleben is jól szerepel. Amúgy egy 19 éves német kölökről van szó. Neme ismeretlen. Komolyan. Az egész karaktert arra hegyezték ki, hogy beazonosíthatatlan legyen. A játékban nem is említik, hogy ő most mi (mindig Leo-t írnak, a he/she-t nem használják), ráadásul a szinkronszínésze is az a nő (Veronica Taylor), aki a japánokhoz hasonlóan, fiatal fiú hangokat szinkronizál. Nálam epic win.
2) Miguel Caballero Rojo
Ő a másik epic win, vele is egyre jobban tolom. Lassú, de brutális karakter. Harcstílusa nincs, mivel sohasem verekedett, szimpla utcai harcos. Miután Jin kis hadseregének egyik gépe lebombázza azt a templomot, amiben éppen a nővére házasodik, bosszút akar állni. A stance az eddigi legjobb és legepikusabb, amit láttam.
3) Robert Richards aka. Bob
Bob csak Bob. Egy iszonyat dagadt hájpacni karakter, aki amúgy az egyik leggyorsabb is. Erős, gyors, király támadásai vannak (főleg a fogásai, azok már látványukban is 5+1 csillagosak), szintén szeretem, bár vele még nem toltam annyit. Alázós karakter.
4) Zafina
Egy beteg nőszemély, aki amúgy annak a templomnak az őrzője, amiben a gonosz lény kel életre. Bár a jó oldalon áll, elég szar személyisége van (igazából nincs is), viszont kegyetlen erős. Bármilyen random gombot nyomunk meg egymás után, az kombó. Ha 20-at nyomunk meg, az egy huszas kombó. Persze ez nem így van, de egy nagyon kiszámíthatatlan karakter, nagyon kell vigyázni vele, szintén bejött.
5) Dragunov, Lili
Mivel a PSP-s Tekken nem volt meg, ezért nekem újjak voltak. Dragunov egy Bryan koppintás, de tetszik, Lili meg nem nagyon jött be. Idegesítő gazdag picsa, O és X nyomogatásával nyerhet bárki.
9) Azazel
Ő a főboss. Eleve nem néz ki sehogy és egy idegesítő csíter-geci-fos. Nem lehetetlen, Mediumon már aláztam ki Perfectre, de nagyon szar főboss. Egy Dragon Jin és egy True Ogre keveréke, meg tegyünk hozzá pás SNK-s főbosst is (pl.: Magaki). Jinpachi jobb volt.

Asszem ennyi. Nekem bejött a Tekken 6.

Youtuber NYCTekken was apparently lucky enough to score an early copy of Tekken 6 for the PSP, and he’s posted a ton of gameplay vids showing off the second portable Iron Fist Tournament chapter.

So far, what I can gather is that the game looks- well- impressive! Though early vids show otherwise, the PSP does indeed show off a DR-or-better level of graphical quality and apparently moves at a solid 60FPS, with all characters and moves from the console and arcade versions present and accounted for. However, as expected there are several shortcuts and cutbacks from making this an exact port. Here are but a few…

There is a 300++ MB Install, which goes well to make loading times faster than DR.

No Scenario Campaign mode. In it’s place is a new Story Mode, although it’s apparently still the same as the Arena in the console modes- Prologue illustrations, 4 matches, CG ending.

New Modes. PSP game sees the return of Story Mode (as mentioned above). A Challenge mode menu contains the following play modes- Survival, Time Attack and Gold Rush (the last one wherein every hit on your opponent nets you cash).

No more real-time character models in the Select screen, it’s back to using illustrations as with DR.

No slow-mo replays of the knockout at the end of a round. During victory animation screens, no music plays for some reason.

Customization Shortcuts. Not all the items and clothing made it in- customs for the PSP have been simplified, fusing arm items with upper garments and tops, while bottoms have been fused with leg and foot items. This has to be delved into more to see every little detail retained or lost, but suffice to say, if you loved customizations in the console versions, prepare to lower your standards.

Apparently the 3P extra outfits are NOT in the PSP game.

Practice mode is same as the console versions, but you always train on the same blank, polygon stage (no stage select).

Yes, Lars and Alisa have Story Mode endings. Unfortunately if you have the console versions, you’ve seen them. SPOILER WARNING! Lars’ ending is the SC Intro CG, while Alisa’s ending is her cutscene battle with the helicopter in SC as well- it’s just given a different spin (Alisa stays with Lars and becomes part of his new PMC, fighting the chopper in the course of her first mission). Well, at least they have all-new prologue art…

Well, it seems that Tekken 6 PSP isn’t an exact port- which we all knew going in anyway. But really, I have to say that the cutting back of options in the Character Customization really hurts this version for me- that’s where most of the fun and replay is! All things considered though, Tekken 6 PSP still looks great and is a no-brainer purchase for anyone who enjoyed DR on the portable. At the very least, it’s a great way to practice your combos and up your skills even if you’re far away from your console and HDTV. More on this as we get it then.

Lördagens 160 grammare som fyllde mättkänslan ända upp till halsstrupen. Även vindrickande och vs tekken-spelande förkom. Faller som vanligt alltid för misfitsen jag. De oh så oförstådda karaktärerna som gör att man vill tvinga i dem kakor och kramar tills emo:riet upphör (stundvis självfallet, de måste ändå fortsätta vara misfittiga). Skorpionbruden, maffiaryssen, Miguel, rosa-håriga kawaii-flickan med motorsåg och old man Wang. Vinnande combo, I tell you.
