Pop sensation Lady Gaga says she was secretly pleased when Britney Spears rejected one of her songs because she was allowed to keep the tune for herself.

The Poker Face hitmaker carved out a career as a songwriter, penning tracks for artists including the Pussycat Dolls, before she shot into the limelight with her 2008 debut The Fame.

Lady Gaga admits one of her tracks, Telephone, on her new album The Fame Monster, was originally written for Spears, but when Spears rejected the song, Lady Gaga recorded it herself and brought Beyonce on board as well.

Lady Gaga tells E! Online, “I wrote it for her a long time ago and she just didn’t use it for her album – it’s fine because I love the song and I get to perform it now.”

Ontem a noite, quem foi conferir em Brisbane (Austrália), a turnê mais lucrativa de Britney Spears, teve várias surpresas preparadas especialmente para os Australianos.

Britney mudou um pouco o figurino do show, deixou de  lado alguns elevadores e truques de mágica e não usou nem mesmo o guarda chuva utilizado durante a performance de “Everytime”.

Mas Britney esteva radiante e com muita energia no palco. Durante todo o espetáculo, Brit usou uma peruca channel loira, do mesmo tipo daquela cor de rosa (que prefiro nem comentar, pois não gosto de lembrar daquela triste fase da “minha” Rainha do Pop).

Brit pegou o microfone e cantou Everytime totalmente ao vivo, fãs que estavam no Entertainment Centre sairam de lá emocionados com a voz de Britney que provou mais uma vez o por que ela é uma das mulheres mais bem sucedidas do mundo, mesmo não sendo adepta a parcerias com principiantes e uma prova disso foi a declaraçao que Lady GaGa acabou de dar sobre o que aconteceu quando ela ofereceu “Telephone” a Miss Britney, ela disse:

Eu escrevi essa música para Britney há muito tempo, e ela simplesmente não quis usar em seu álbum. Mas tudo bem, porque eu amo a música, e é excitante eu ter que performá-la agora.”

Essa é nossa Britney, sem máscaras, sem óculos estranhos e sotaques nunca vistos antes e quanto  ao resto? O resto é modinha e logo passa.

16 Nov 2009 A 55-year-old Taiwanese man tricked up to 20 women into having sex with him in an elaborate scam where he posed as both a handsome young man and that man’s ailing father.

Hsu Shian-ming, who was arrested on Saturday, allegedly posted photos of a youthful male model online, claiming to be that person, and attracted numerous calls from women interested in romantic liaisons, the China Post reported.

Hsu would then use the telephone conversations to tell his victims he had a father whose medical condition required constant sex to stay alive, sweet-talking them into doing what was necessary to save him, it said.

The women would then meet up with the “father”, also Hsu, waiting for them at various hotels in Taipei, according to the report.

One of his victims eventually became suspicious after several attempts to see the handsome “son” were unsuccessful, and after she uncovered the truth with the help of private investigators, police were involved, the paper said.

A strange thing happened today…my telephone answering machine suddenly started speaking Spanish. I have come across many barriers to good communication, but this was certainly a first. When I left in the morning it was definitely speaking English but by the time I returned in the afternoon it was speaking Spanish. Imagine my surprise when I checked for messages and it told me how many there were, but in a language I didn’t understand properly. I wondered what the callers thought when they phoned my number and heard such an unexpected message. It made me appreciate all the more what it feels like when people talk at you without taking the trouble to use words you can actually understand. The problem is more commonly to do with jargon than another language altogether, but the effect is much the same.

Perhaps my answering machine is trying to tell me something. Although what that could be I have no idea. This minor  rebellion was soon sorted using the tried and tested trick of non-technical people everywhere. I mean, of course, switching off the power and then turning it back on again after a moment or two. Sorted.  The machine is once again answering in English, but should you ever call me and think you’ve got a wrong number because you get a message in Japanese…leave a message anyway.

As promised, I am reviewing Lady Gaga’s new EP, “The Fame Monster”.  After her stunning debut album, “The Fame”, Lady Gaga set the bar high for this release, and I can now say that the bar even higher with ” The Fame Monster”.Here is my favorite tracks from the album:

1. Bad Romance- Gaga’s first hit off “The Fame Monster” and a great way to start off this album.  With its catchy beats, Bad Romance grips you right from the first note and keeps the energy flowing to the song’s end.

4. Speechless- After seeing Lady Gaga performing this song on the AMAs, I was looking forward to hearing this song again.  This song is translates well between the recorded version to the live performance.

6.Telephone (feat. Beyoncé)- I really think this song is going to be a big dance hit.  The collaboration between Lady Gaga and Beyoncé is flawless.

These are songs that stood out for me.  That’s not to say that the other songs weren’t great.  The whole album is a nice companion to “The Fame”.

Article très intéressant dans Le Monde parlant de la sur-utilisation de nos réseaux téléphoniques. Ça fait un moment que l’on en parle : nous avons tous des Smartphones dans la poche et qui utilise sollicite beaucoup le réseau en vérifiant en permanence nos twets, nos pokes, nos mails…

Depuis que je suis à Tech de Co où on a presque tous des Smartphones on observe très bien la dégradation du niveau de qualité du réseau. Nos téléphones passent en permanence du HSDPA à l’UMTS à l’EDGE et j’ai même découvert le logo GPRS sur mon téléphone !

C’est vrai qu’un tech de co sollicite beaucoup le réseau : en cours le tech de co est souvent sur Facebook, envoi en permanence des textos.

Mais je trouve quand même culoté que Didier Lombard, PDG d’Orange, demande à des grands acteurs du web comme qui profite des ces réseaux d’investir dans les infrastructures.

C’est vrai qu’ils n’ont pas les moyens chez Orange ! Ils ont des marges si faibles !

Pour mémoire mon forfait coute 47€ par mois et donne droit à 1 heure + 1 heure soir et week-end, des SMS illimités (car j’ai moins de 25 ans), internet et mail (1 000 mo).

Orange UK fait un forfait relativement identique avec 500 SMS, 500 mo de données or email et 20 heures de voix pour 43€…

C’est une première.

Garmin, en partenariat avec Asus, lance un terminal hybride alliant des services de géolocalisation à un téléphone tactile de 3,5 pouce. Les marchés des GPS autonomes se retrouvent face à une concurrence sévère. Ce petit oeuvre d’art, répondant au nom de Nüvifone, a déjà été presenté  à la presse française.

Le Nüvifone n’est pas juste un GPS ou un téléphone mais un appareil qui est censé proposer des services géolocalisés en fonction de l’endroit où se trouve l’utilisateur ou du lieu où il souhaite se rendre.

Garmin entend même créer un nouveau segment de marché, celui des “navigation phone”. Le but de ce marché sera de faire converger les fonctions d’un téléphone d’un GPS et de la géolocalisation. Mais l’entrée de ce petit engin dans le marché ne sera pas aisée car la concurrence est  vive. Notamment dans le secteur de la téléphonie mobile. Quels arguments le Nüvifone pourra-t-il avancer pour pouvoir concurrencer le succès incroyable des smartphones qui sont capables d’apporter ponctuellement une solution GPS et dont le prix est déjà en baisse.

Le Nüvifone n’attire d’ailleurs pas particulièrement le regard. Il est costaud et épais. Il se distingue fort de la majorité des smartphones au profit bien plus affiné. L’extérieur ainsi que son intérieur sont plus proche d’un GPS que d’un téléphone mobile. Le Nüvifone ne peut se mettre en avant par son style, qui manque d’originalité et de singularité, mais par la qualité du matériau utilisé.

La navigation est intuitive et efficace. La fonction GPS est équivalent à celle d’un GPS autonome et le principal de géolocalisation est très bien intégré. L’appareil affiche des résultats de recherches très rapidement. Mais l’appareil ne peut lire ni audio et phone, ni aucune vidéo.

Sinceramente, a noite foi dividida em dois momentos : o pré-GaGa e o pós-GaGa. Tenho dó de quem se apresentou depois; não havia como impressionar e entreter mais a platéia do AMA Awards 2009.

Since Lady Gaga broke every record possible with her second single, Poker Face, of her debut album, the Internets and industry have been claiming her to be the new Princess of Pop.

After listening to Gaga’s new work, The Fame Monster, Princess of Pop seems to be the biggest understatement of the year!

With this new work Gaga is on a whole other level, these sort of pop songs only come around once a decade.

The eight new tracks on The Fame Monster are Madonna esque, from club records like Telephone which we showed you last week, to 80’s sounding synth tracks like Dance In The Dark and So Happy I Could Die.

The latter of those songs is our new favourite, on repeat for days now. Check out some of the tracks below and go grab yourself a copy of the best pop album of the year.

Lady GaGa voltou, só que dessa vez com o lado negro da fama – The Fame Monster. O álbum, apesar de ter todo um conceito próprio, é, ainda assim, um complemento teórico de seu antecessor The Fame (e daí vem a semelhança quase estúpida dos nomes) : o álbum de Poker Face e Just Dance tem como temas principais os supostos lados “benéficos” da fama, como o advento da fortuna, a vida nas festas e a própria celebridade, ilustradas de dentro pra fora pelas canções Money Honey, Just Dance, The Fame e Paparazzi, entre outras (obs : a moda é tema de todas as canções, mesmo que em segundo plano). Já Fame Monster lida com o que GaGa chamou numa conferência de imprensa de “medo de monstros” : monstro do sexo, do álcool, da solidão, do amor e etc. E junto com a mudança de tema, vem a mudança de aparência; é no mínimo insensato chamar sua moda de “linear”, mas enquanto promovia uma determinada linha de canções, com ideologias parecidas, ela mantinha um tipo de aparência. Pode-se constatar esse fato sutil colocando a fase Beautiful, Dirty, Rich/Just Dance (transição) em contraste com a Poker Face/LoveGame. E com o advento de um novo álbum, o contraste torna-se definitivamente claro. Lady deixa um pouco de lado vestimentas glamourosas e “escandaluxo” e começa a mostrar uma moda mais dark, gótica – ou no mínimo mais bizarra.

Beautiful, Dirty Rich : algo mais clubber, até mais recatado (GaGa usava calças nessa fase!)

Poker Face : upgrade mais glamouroso, chegando a ser meio Drag…

Poker Face e Alejandro : separados por um porre?

Bad Romance

Romance é o 1° single do álbum. A faixa  já faz muito sucesso em todo o mundo, estando atualmente colocada na 11ª posição da Billboard Hot 100. É uma faixa de Dance Pop, uptempo por natureza, que em muito lembra Poker Face; seja pelo arranjo, seja pela estrutura da letra (refrão, brigdes, MoMoMoMa’s e  GaGa Ohh La-La’s). Tende-se a achá-la repetitiva no início, mas ouvido-a por mais 3 vezes, torna-se o mais novo hit de GaGa. Segundo declarações da cantora e o próprio tema da canção, esta faixa seria relacionada ao “monstro do amor” e apresenta duas visões que, à primeira vista, deveriam ser tratadas em trabalhos diferentes : exploração dos prazeres de um “romance ruim” e o amor livre de barreiras por seu melhor amigo. Amor esse tão grande que quer explorar até os aspectos mais aterrorizantes e grotescos da vida do ser amado. É o que ela diz em versos como :

I want your ugly
I want your disease
I want your everything
As long as it’s free
I want your love
Love, love, love I want your love

Enquanto a letra parece retratar o lado romântico com mais atenção, o clipe tende a mostrar o lado efêmero de uma aventura amorosa; mas de qualquer maneira, em se tratando de GaGa, as possibilidades são muitas.

Alejandro

Alejandro ainda é aceitável para as pistas, quem sabe com um remix – mas já tem um foco mais melancólico. A partir daqui, as semelhanças com The Fame decrescem progressivamente (com grande excessão de Telephone). A canção parece tratar de um amante/namorado possivelmente ciumento, agressivo ou injusto – ou até mesmo os três juntos – e diante desse drama, a pessoa no outro extremo da relação tem que tomar uma decisão.  Sua letra chega a tornar-se mais interessante que a melodia – talvez com um clipe interessante, venha a tornar-se single.

Monster

Talvez a canção mais simbólica do álbum, é uma das mais chocantes também. Parte do bridge :

We might’ve fucked not really sure, don’t quite recall

Bom, já que ela acha que transou com o rapaz mas não lembra, podemos supôr que esse seja o/um dos “monstro do álcool” ou do “amor” mesmo. Uptempo novamente, reconhecemos no fundo o auto-tune de Space Cowboy, um DJ que acompanhou GaGa em sua Fame Ball Tour, que volta como produtor dessa faixa e de Dance In The Dark. Monster encontra-se na situação da canção anterior; o ponto forte do trabalho é a letra e não a melodia. Essa faixa parece tratar de uma atração irresistível por um Bad Boy, do qual GaGa tenta resgatar alguma lembrança. A coisa toma rumos gaguísticos, e, quando ela se dá por si, há um “monstro” em sua cama. De frente a essa situação, ela se pergunta se pode confiar/amar um “lobo disfarçado” muito sedutor.

Speechless

A canção é uma “exceção” no contexto do álbum; o arranjo é baseado no piano e uma guitarrinha básica – o que já destoa incrivelmente do ritmo frenético das faixas anteriores. Podemos até dizer que a música vem de Stefani Germanotta  – pois trata de seu pai. Destacadando-a como um dos momentos mais importantes de sua carreira, Speechless fala de uma suposta abdicação de seu pai perante a vida, o que teria deixado GaGa – ou melhor, Stefani – sem palavras. Em certo ponto da canção, a cantora questiona se sua desistência o salvaria de seu estado crítico. Mesmo não se podendo afirmar o motivo exato do sofrimento, o contexto da faixa e seu arranjo mais intimista tornam este um dos momentos mais iluminados do álbum – momento no qual possamos talvez identificar o “monstro da solidão” ou mesmo do “amor” – afinal, amor entre familiares é essencial.

Dance In The Dark

O Dance Pop volta com tudo nessa faixa, que nos lembra aquelas musiquinhas de máquinas de Pump, à la Cascade – a diferença é que a canção não chega a ser tosca.  Não a vejo com um potencial a single tão grande assim, mas quem sabe. A letra parece tratar de garotas que tem seus desejos inibidos e qualidades menosprezadas por namorados ou homens em geral; aí a dança no escuro, onde ninguém as vê. Pode tratar-se do “monstro da solidão” também; mas vamos ter que esperar um feedbackzinho básico maior sobre o álbum.

Telephone

Agora sim : se pudesse apostar em alguma música desse CD depois de Bad Romance, com certeza seria Telephone. E pelo que parece, os casting do álbum também; a canção conta com colaboração de seis pessoas, entre produtores e cantores – incluindo Beyoncé. A faixa parece ser a versão GaGa da música Video Phone, à qual a cantora prestou serviços. Bem toscos, diga-se de passagem. A diferença entre elas é que a sua versão ficou 40 milhões de vezes melhor do que a de Bey, apesar de a letra ficar no campo das boates mesmo – esta fala de alguma pessoa bem chata que insiste em ligar enquanto GaGa e sua trupe estão batendo cabelo loucamente numa pista de dança qualquer.

So Happy I Could Die

Novamente com Space Cowboy, So Happy I Could Die continua com o clima de buatshy e parece explorar novamente os monstros do sexo e álcool :

I love that lavender blonde
The way she moves
The way she walks
I touch myself can’t get enough

Parte do refrão :

Happy in the club with a bottle of red wine
Stars in our eyes ‘cuz we’re having a good time

Mesmo com todos os recursos empregados, a faixa tem um clima de êxtase misturado com melancolia, como se a cantora estivesse totalmente bêbada – portanto, “nas nuvens” (eu espero, pelo menos) – mas com a sensação de decadência de quem capota no meio da pista pela tontura (quem já não fez isso? haha).

Teeth

Parece que GaGa se encontrou com um Apache pra compor o arranjo da música. Nessa faixa, o produtor deixa o botão “balada” do sintetizador descansar um pouco; mas de qualquer maneira, a canção é uptempo e é a mais divertida do álbum, no sentido inocente da palavra. Já a letra revela que a faixa é tudo menos pura :

Don’t be scared
I’ve done this before
Show me your teeth
Don’t want no money (want your money)

That shit’s is ugly
Just want your sex (want your sex)

Basicamente é sobre uma GaGa sedenta por, provavelmente, uma noite de sexo (jura?). Palavras como “amor” e “religião”, encontradas na letra, não devem ser interpretadas literalmente, dada a efemeridade aparente da situação. Não tem muita cara de single, pois é muito brincalhona – não leva muito o rótulo “vamos dançar” – mas quem sabe qual será seu destino…

Concluindo, as 8 faixas tendem a ir para um lado mais selvagem, cru, ignorante da “fama” (mais pra “vida” do que “fama”), mas não perdem em qualidade por isso. Novamente, a liberdade das letras e os aspectos visuais dos trabalhos de GaGa chamarão mais a atenção e trarão mais novidades do que os arranjos musicais em si. Talvez nos seja necessário certo tempo para a adaptação à nova fase – O lançamento de The Fame tem pouco mais de um ano – porém, ao meu ver, um dos anos mais importantes para a música pop e a mainstream em geral. Um ano de transformações velozes, só para os que podem (e os que não podem, viram sub-artistas reciclados, como Jennifer Lopez mostrou em seu último single), que se concretiza como uma forma de arte atualizada – algo como o Pop 2.0. Não se pode decidir hoje se o caráter dos acontecimentos é bom ou ruim (e também não é tão simples assim), mas se nos basearmos no fato que a evolução só vem com a mudança, possivelmente estamos indo longe com essa artista.

Liebste Lady Gaga,

Zu erst einmal: Danke für alles.

Dann: Dieses Wochenende ist gaaaaanz schlecht.

Das Schreiben einer Seminararbeit belastet mich emotional und zwingt mich zu gesellschaftlich nicht geadelten Verhaltensweisen (Fressattacken, Weinkrämpfe, Hassanfälle und der erfolglose Versuch, einem Spanner auf einer Universitätsbibliothekstoilette eine Falle zu stellen). Kurzum ich bin schrecklich genervt und deprimiert und hatte eigentlich gehofft, dass du, werte Gaga, mir aus diesem Loch helfen wirst. Ich habe deiner neuen CD The Fame Monster sehr entgegengefiebert, nicht, weil ich sie von Anfang an als bloße Ablenkung bzgl. Hausarbeit gesehen habe, sondern weil du, Gaga, es geschafft hast, den Fan ihn mir zu wecken. Das hat zwei Gründe: Zum einen bist du fantastisch und zum zweiten hältst du uns mit neuem Material nicht ewig hin. Das ist fantastisch. Und oh! Ich habe mich in Bad Romance verliebt!

Und jetzt das! Das Fame Monster ist keine Hausarbeitsablenkung, sondern ein Meisterwerk und zwar ein verflixt ausgefuchstes, wie es nur jemand erschaffen kann, der mehr ist als die Summe aller momentanen Trends. Während dein Debüt The Fame vor allem von oberflächlichen Dingen mit einem Schuss Tiefsinnigkeit handelte (siehe: Paper Gangsta), überrascht The Fame Monster mit einer düsten, wilden, unzähmbaren Seite. Der Name ist Programm und genauer betrachtet ist keiner der acht Songs ein wirkliches Gute-Laune-Brett. Irgendeine angedüsterte Message befindet sich in jedem Stück – und das ist wunderbar! So verliebte ich mich nicht nur in deine wunderbaren, eingängigen, harmonischen Melodien, die hier noch besser reinkrachen als beim ersten Album, sondern auch – und erst recht – in die Texte. Du redest von Zigaretten, Alkohol, Selbsthass, Unterdrückung, schlechten Romanzen und all den Dingen, die wir als Hörer gar nicht verstehen können, weil uns dein Hintergrundwissen fehlt, um die Metaphern aufzulösen.

Aber das ist nicht schlimm. Ich denke mir meinen Teil und halte mich einfach an Zitatschnipseln fest, die mir in dieser schweren Zeit Kraft geben – und oh! Habe ich schon die Melodien erwähnt? Diese Monster von Tonfolgen, die vielleicht munter-synthetisch untermalt sind und Clubatmosphäre verströmen (Monster, Bad Romance, So happy I could die) und trotzdem so merkwürdig melancholisch klingen. Sämtliche Vorwürfe der Oberflächlichkeit wären spätestens damit ausgeräumt, denn wer es schafft, Next-Level-Shit-Electro-Synthie-Gemisch zu nehmen und ihm eine tragische, herzberührende Note zu verpassen, hat sowieso gewonnen. Und wenn es das nicht ist, dann ist es zum Beispiel Teeth, mit seiner zweiten gesprochenen Tonspur und dem Beat, der mich an No Diggity von Black Street erinnert, nur ohne den Schnipsel Hiphop (dennoch fantastisch). Und dann ist da ja noch Telephone, das Duett mit Beyoncé, die du, Gaga, gar nicht gebraucht hättest, weil das Ding auch so ein Brett ist. R’n'B mit den unvermeidlichen Electroanleihen, ja, aber so wahnsinnig eingängig, dass man Kopfschmerzen davon bekommt. Und Alejandro! Liebe auf den ersten Blick! Du mit spanischem Akzent, Musik wie eine verlassene Westernstadt, fantastischer Gesang  - aber trotz des Titels kein typischer Versuch eines amerikanischen Popstars, bei den Latin Music Awards im nächsten Jahr besonders gut abzuschneiden. Natürlich nicht! Wo waren meine Gedanken?

Und als ob das noch nicht genug wäre, nimmst du dir auch noch die Zeit, um all deinen Kritikern zu beweisen, dass du nicht die bist, für die sie dich gehalten haben. Sämtliche Vorwürfe des Nichttalents, des Nichtsingenkönnens, des Unoriginellseins und der Oberflächlichkeit dürften mit Speechless ausgeräumt sein. Ein ruhigerer Song, ja, aber nicht so ruhig, dass er einen Bruch darstellt. Im Gegenteil passt er sehr gut ins Gesamtkonzept, da die düstere Seite hier einfach ein bisschen ausgeprägter ist als bei den anderen. Und die Metaphern! “Johnny Walker Eyes”, “James Dean glossy eyes” – Ah! Dafür verehre ich die Dame! Dazu tiefer, rauer Gesang, der, dank der Klavierbegleitung an einen besoffenen Seemann erinnert (Sorry!), ein langsamer Beat. Und so viel Gefühl! Eine echte Überraschung, denn sowas hat man von Gaga nicht erwartet – dann wiederum: Diese Frau lässt sich nicht in Mathematik packen, also zum Teufel mit den Erwartungen. Man muss es selbst gehört haben. Es ist eine Ballade und dann doch wieder nicht – jedenfalls nicht dieses obligatorische, klaviergeschwängerte Albumgefüllsel, das andere Sängerinnen uns als Ballade präsentieren.

Und nun für alle, denen dieser Text zu langweilig, zu pathetisch und zu subjektiv ist, das Album in drei Worten: Fantastisch, großartig, originell, gaga (okee, das waren vier).

Zu recht ein heißer Anwärter auf das Album des Jahres und damit zu Recht auf der Shortbreadlist 2009, also meiner persönlichen Hitliste, auch wenn ich nicht so ganz erklären kann, woher dieser Name kommt. Letztes Jahr hatte diese Angelegenheit noch keinen Namen, aber wie das nun mal so ist: Man muss den Dingen einen Namen geben.

In diesem Sinne: Lady Gaga, ich danke dir sehr, dass du mich wieder zum Fan gemacht hast und mit The Fame Monster alle Erwartungen übertroffen hast – vor allem die, die nicht vorhanden waren.
