My final ride report: into Staten Island and back out.  GOD, I froze.  This was sunday afternoon/evening – had a family thing at the Hilton there.  It struck me with hilarity when I pulled in, dismounted, strolled into the lobby, and was met with that “LAWNG I-LAND TAWK” that passes for normal.  Bloody hell!

So after all the tawk and laughs and dinner and caw-fee, I suited back up and rode home in the dark.  I went with two pairs of gloves again, not yet breaking out the mittens (which I don’t own, technically …they’re an unwrapped gift waiting for me in the attic…thanks, lady!) and I neglected the heated vest since it was only supposed to be a “short”  ride.

I foolishly forgot to check the weather.  From 48 degrees at 1pm, it was 34 degrees at 6pm.  And boy, that’s cold on the highway.

Leaving the party at the Hilton, I headed down South Ave toward 440, and there was a highway sign (green and official) for TELEPORT.  It had an arrow.  I boggled.

“AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I shouted inside my helmet.  Then, at the next light (which snagged me), I saw that the Teleport was a hotel or someshit.  Oh well. I didn’t really want to teleport, I thought I’d be OK riding…

Continued on, hopped on 440, and proceeded to freeze. It was cold around my torso, and my knees were a little colder still, but that wasn’t too bad.  The soft lowers did very well in the foot area. My neck was cold because I didn’t wear a scarf or balaclava.

But my fingers froze.  It was awful.  They started to go pins-and-needles, even with two sets of gloves and while doing the cruise control shuffle (which is with both hands, rather than just the left when you have to keep the right on the throttle).  The hand deflectors were not in the mood for salvation, apparently.

It was a sad day, realizing the cruise control shuffle couldn’t help.  Cruise control came stock since touring models are meant for old bastards.  Wonder if I have the record on the other end (no, i won’t say my age). I’ve really enjoyed cruise control for going through EZpass – pop it on about 30mph and you’re free to use the right hand to pull out the tag and wave it.  Not sure why it’s more helpful that way vs using my left hand, but it is for me.  So the cruise control shuffle is just what you’d think, you ride with 1 hand on the bars and 1 hand under your ass, down by the engine, or just in the center of the windshield so it doesn’t eat the breeze. A 1, a 2, a 1-2-3 AND switch!! and twist and crack yer back and switch!! and then you do it again!

Fingers went numb, then came back to life, roaring with pain as they felt swollen and stiff. This was not fun!

The whole ride wasn’t even an hour. Off the highway, putting through town, only doing 20-30 … I was still hurting.  The damage was done.  I hoped my fingers weren’t going to be black when I pulled off the gloves.

At home, my odometer read 1005 miles.  Yay for that and all, but I shot my gloves off and ran my hands under warm water for at least 10 minutes.  Fingers were red and white at the tips, and very numb all over and seriously hurt.  Damnation,  that was the end of the season for me. My fingers, after regaining warmth, were still numb for a while.

Barring any more unseasonably warm days (are there really seasons anymore? seems all the lines are blurry now: seasons, politics, religion, sex, music … nothing is what it was! Good God, I feel old!), that should be it for 2009.

I can no longer claim to be a time traveler, putting around with a 2010 Harley in the year of our Lord 2009.  If you say it like that, it sounds like you’re a time traveler.  No? Screw you.

I’ll do my 1000-mile service when I get some time.  I’ll photo-document everything, and I’ll steer clear of the videos unless something is novel (or specific to the 2010 FLHRC).

In the meantime, I’ll find another use for this blog.  I’ll write just to write, or review a few things I figure I’ll end up getting for xmas (thanks!).

I have a feeling my EFI manager discussion will get resolved as a practical matter: the PC V will be sitting under the tree, I bet.  Oh well!

And sorry that updates are a bit sporadic.  Without riding going on, there’s just not so much to talk about.  I can post some photos, too.  Better quality over quantity, I always say.

This version supports the following WoW Clients. 2.4.3, 2.4.2, 2.4.0, 3.0.3 These clients are detected through an MD5 hash check run when the target process is selected. If you have modded your WoW.exe the MD5 will fail and you will not be able to use WEH with it, you can provide the MD5 shown by Client Info and WoW exe version to me in a PM to have support added.

Run down on the buttons.

Teleport List.
Add Location. Used to add a location quickly to your Teleport List, It can be edited later.
Launch WoW.
Spirit Healer. When dead teleports you to the spirit healers XYZ.
Goto Corpse. When dead teleports you to your corpses XYZ.
HotKeys. Brings up the Hotkey Dialog Box. Note* To remove a hotkey select the hotkey you want hit backspace so it says None then hit set.
Client Info. Displays the Pid, Client Version, MD5, Client Path, of the open process.
Save Settings. Saves your currently selected options in the windows registry.
About. Brings up the about box.

Selecting a Client:
If you have started WEH5 before starting wow you can select your client by going to the Process ID Drop List and selecting the PID of the client, this allows you to select from multiple versions of WoW.exe that might be open and using the Client Info button, you can confirm if its the correct one you have selected, by default WEH5 will open the first WoW.exe that it detects. If you have more then 1 wow open you can still switch to an other client from the drop box.

Note* Warning: There have been a few reports from users who use AVG anti virus that the AVG program has been blocking WEH5, this is because of the file compressor used with WEH5 is setting off the AVG protection and therefor causing it to block the program from starting. The fix to this is to add WEH5 to the allow list of programs in AVG or to Disable AVG while using WEH5, no other Anti Virus programs have had any issues that I am aware of.

There was a minor issue reported when someone tried using a wow client below 3.0.3 which has been fixed. You should not be able to use any of the supported WoW Clients with out half of the features not working as intended.

This Thanksgiving break has been all movie time (By the way, Balto was a really nice movie. Thank you Walter). During one boring night, I decided to re-watch Star Trek. Throughout the entire movie, you see spaceships warping (traveling at the speed of light or greater) to various parts of the universe. Inside the command center, you literally behold space beginning to bend and stretch as the ship goes into warp drive. Similarly, beaming is the teleportation of people from one location to another. In one scene, an engineer discovers the equation to beaming people onto moving objects and exclaims, “Of course! I never would have thought of space as a moving force!” Although these space travel concepts are merely theoretical, I believe that they are attainable and will be implemented in the far future. As human technology progresses, we will be able to bend space, time, and the basic laws of nature. A truly formidable power, don’t you agree? “With great power comes great responsibility,” as everyone has heard. I agree that if we are able to achieve such technologies, we could use it for a multitude of beneficial applications. I cannot even begin to list ways we could help nature; just use your imagination. However, powerful things always have possibilities to go horribly wrong. For example, space/time travel could always be dangerous, especially with the “affect something in the past changes everything in the future” type of thing. Small changes that could be made through advancements in human technology could have quite damaging effects on nature and its living organisms. The theme of science and its effects on nature is what I will be exploring further in my paper.

Currently on the work bench is a second generation teleporter to compliment the already popular MST system.

It’s main difference is it’s designed for smaller applications where only a few teleports are needed. There’s no delay time waiting for hubs to detect.. The menu of destinations is displayed instantly.

The system will work much the same as the MST2 system and work straight from the box. You just rez a hub, name it, and you’re ready to go.

Access to and from the teleporters is restrictable to owner, group or anyone, and although access lists are provided, it won’t be recommended to add more than a few names to them as it has a brutal impact on the system capacity.

It’s still early days, but i’m working hard to develop one of the best teleport systems!

A Thursday afternoon and NO new Heroes episodes has me thinking. I love Heroes. I love Hiro. If you don’t, that’s cool.

BUT. I don’t care if you have, and I quote from something I read recently about Buffy being an intellectual superior: “a comic collection worth more than most peoples cars”. I don’t care if you think Heroes is very derivative from lesser known comics. If it is full of plot-holes. I love it, sometimes it’s slow but it’s light entertainment which takes me away from a reality that is all too complex sometimes.

So, Heroes would never have a place in academia or intellectual conversation? Personally I like that. I also may have half my ‘facts’ incorrect with what I post below, I am going by memory and as I have said before, that’s pretty much a vast abyss. Also as per usual a random spiel that happens before I think, especially today being sleep deprived, so sorry if I break your head a little.

I love Heroes.

Plus I love Sylar. Hiro is my favorite, he wants to save everyone yet I want Sylar to KILL everyone at the same time. Or atleast try. He just keeps coming back, you can’t stop him – he’s batshit-crazy. The latest episodes have me screaming at the television when I realise there are NO more episodes YARRED for me to watch.

Anyway, Hiro.

Hiro possesses something like, the power to control the space-time continuum. The ability to teleport both himself and others that he comes into physical contact with, both through time and space. To stop time. Though these days his powers are becoming weaker.

He seems to be one of the only characters who wants to use his SUPER POWERS to help other people rather than gain for himself. He is pretty gullible at times. I am pretty sure from memory of the first series that he is a huge comic book fan and sets himself standards to live up to the responsibilities, systems, justice and other things he sees in his comic book friends. “You cannot bribe a hero. My heart is true. My spirit, unbreakable.”

haha. I think this is the only time I have seen him hit a chick, though she’s not really a chick, she has super KICK YOUR ASS homicidal powers.

He believes he is born to be a Hero. Maybe he is. He speaks of Star Trek, Waffles(!!), saving this person, saving that person, saving the world, is notoriously cute, optimistic and hilarious. I love him and I am sure I piss a lot of people off by now from yelling “YATTA!!” waayy too often. I stopped for awhile but Heroes is BACK baby.

I do him little justice. If he were real, hopefully he’d come back in time to redeem himself.. or me. He has a heart of gold and has me laughing and stupid things (I DO NOT usually laugh at stupid comedy) when I am feeling crap. I was told this post needed some more work, they usually do.. I can’t write anymore.. I can only hear “YATTA!” in my head over and over.

The Haunted House quest on Poptropica, which was only around for Halloween, is here to stay! The button on the map has disappeared, but you can get a special teleport card in the Poptropica store. And the best part is, it’s free!

Hurry and get it though, because I have a feeling it won’t stick around for ever.

With it, you can visit the Haunted House anytime you want. I have a feeling there will be more teleport cards to come, but I can guarantee you that they won’t be free.

I swear to God if another person asks me that, I am going to kill myself. If you don’t know the situation I’l explain it quickly. I am awaiting a job from Wal Mart. They said they would hire me, but they haven’t yet. So now every time I talk to someone I hear “did you hear from Wal Mart?”. My mom, dad, step mom, step dad, grandma, grandapa, aunt, uncle, and ex girlfriend have all asked me this week. How’s this, I’ll tell you when I hear from them. Sound good?

I think I’m a little on edge this week, at least more than usual. Every time I need to talk to someone, they are gone. I need to talk to Peter Skoro at my school, he is supposed to help me pick my classes. We have made two appointments that he hasn’t showed up for, and he has yet to be in his office when I went  there. I need to talk to my landlord about my internet being out for over  a week now, but he hasn’t been in his office at all this week. I need to talk to Candace at Wal Mart, but she has been gone all week too. I swear to God this is a joke.

I’ve got nothing else, Happy Halloween.

Sunday…..Sunday…………Sunday is my favorite and I think everybody’s favorite day of  the week , but the bad thing about Sunday is…..it has just 24 hours..and those too made up of 60 minutes in each hour only!!!!! My lord………why are you so much cruel?….why the week days are too long to spend and weekends are too fast to hold?   But may, my god has something better for reason, behind it!!!!

By the way, i have seen one of my dream movie on Star movies …JUMPER……it is really a dream movie based on novel written by author Steven Gould in 2007 and today you can have a movie, video game based on this novel. I liked the movie because of its superb direction, plot, photography,locations etc. Think, if you have any ability that makes you to tele port yourself to anywhere on earth, in just a second…and you also able to carry anything with you, where ever you go! then what you do? ……..h…aaammmmm….I would like to go Antarctica with my wife and have a hot dish of onion free pakodas with a hot coffee.!!!…think of it….thinking does not cost anything, but one thing to ask the God………oh god…..why don’t you shower some mercy on us….and make us the Jumper to carry so much of responsibilities?…

It has seemed more and more lately like traveling, whether it is driving to the store or flying across the country, is just wrong. We should be able to teleport directly to where we want to go.

Is it just me? Have I watched too many science fiction movies? Is it just wishful thinking? I do enjoy driving at times, just for the sake of driving. But just to go from one place to another, especially if there is a lot of traffic or it is a long distance that will take so much time, it just seems like driving or flying should be unnecessary. It would be so nice to be able to *blip* to the store, get what I need, and then *blip* I am back home. Or think how much easier vacations would be — how much time we spend getting there and back which could be better spent being there. No more time wasted sitting in airports, sitting smooshed up in the airplane, sitting in a car traveling to and from the airport…

So who do we need to talk to to make this happen?

Ultimate Magic has finally closed after running a full one year at The Arena @ Clarke Quay Our last show was a nice one… with many people taking photos with us after, and plenty also asking J C & I where we’d be off to next *grin*

I mentioned to some folks on Facebook, but for the record, I’ll just say this here on my blog…

We’ve been talking with Mr. Dennis Foo & company of the ST JAMES group, which most of you already know, is the biggest club in Singapore! We’ll be doing some things with them this year and next. Look out for us come this October at their swanky venue I’m really excited with the slew of things all lined up for us, work-wise.

Professional magic & illusion gigs aside, I’ll also be dabbling in some new movie & TV offers I’ve recently agreed to. Not having an on-going daily performance contract anymore definitely frees up time for me to get my feet wet with such interesting projects.

So yes, while I’m truly thankful for the opportunity in having done Singapore’s first magic attraction which was endorsed by the Singapore Tourism Board, Magic Babe is not one to “rest on my laurels”. It’s always about looking ahead and not losing steam in this flighty showbiz industry.

More on those film & TV projects in awhile, but before all that, I’ll be going for a much needed break overseas for a bit. This free spirit needs to break out of our little red dot to rejuvenate my batteries and re-engage my spirit. I need periodic breaks to keep sane, given my hectic schedule so the BFF & I will be heading up to Vietnam in the next couple of days.

I don’t know what I’m gonna do yet, but we’ve booked our flights & hotel (a quaint old dame) in the Hanoi old quarters and I know I’ll be bringing my Lomo LCA camera, along with my bare travel necessities… nothing better than to pluck myself out of urban Singapore for a bit, to find myself a stranger in (hopefully) paradise.
