I subscribed for the book called “Tell Me Why” from M.M. Publications Ltd, Kottayam – 686001, Kerala, India. This magazine cover an interesting top on every issue. For example one complete book covers only insects related things …. Best inventions, Birds, Transportation, Mountains, ….. It very interesting for all the age group. My son is doing his first standard. Still he love to read the headings, questions … most importantly loves to watch the illustarations and asks us n number of questions … If your kid is doing their 4th standard above … definitely you could give a try … Happy learning …

When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, ” It’s all right?” Well, it isn’t all right, so why don’t we say, ” That hurt, you stupid idiot?”

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that’s falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

Taylor Swift is coming to Nassau Coliseum this spring. I am EXCITED!!

Last year we saw her open for Rascall Flatts at the NYS Fair and she instantly went from my ‘who the hell?’ list to ‘most-played’ on my iPod.

And then her Fearless album came out and we became imaginary BFFs.

I’m not one to obsess or even care about celebrities. Yet, she’s basically wrote the soundtrack to my love life.We are definitely connected in some way!

So when I asked Ms K if she wished to attend the concert, she commented on how ‘angry she is.’ And instinctively I defended her. Why did I do that? I DON’T EVEN KNOW HER!  But really I was defending myself – I really relate to a lot of her songs.

But is she really more angry than others? Or does she just address the pain of love as much as the joy, as is typical for country singers.

Here are some of my favs, are they angry?

Tell Me Why Thumbs up: even if she stands up for herself, the lyrics describe her desperation to understand his abusive behavior – yet she still loves him. This automatically makes it an angry song. I mean, even I can’t rationalize that.

Forever & Always Thumbs up: clearly a case of betrayed trust.

Should’ve Said No Thumbs up: do I even need to back this up?

You Belong With Me Neutral: it’s a happy song, but with a rejected, desperate undertone.

Fearless Thumbs down: not angry at all; she’s singing about an open, give-all approach to dating. And even better, she’s talking about the guy jumping in ‘fearless’ – who doesn’t want a secure ‘fearless’ guy?

Love Story Thumbs down: it’s a beautiful song – and video. (Go Taylor!)

Stay Beautiful; Our Song; Tim McGraw Thumbs down!! obviously – Ok, well Tim McGraw could possibly be neutral.

Ok, so there are a lot left out here and a lot of those are sad, angry songs. Ms K could be right. (She happens to be the only person who I will allow to be right over me… really, it just isn’t worth the argument.)

But I think this is why I admire her music so much. She’s able to touch on an array of emotions that few people ever [allow themselves to] experience in a lifetime – and relate them to a teenage/early adult crowd! And she’s only 18! (yeah?)

When we saw her open she sang “Should’ve Said No,” and by way of introduction she said, ‘I dated a guy who cheated on me – and that was stupid, because I write songs.’

Basically that was how she won me over. Not because she was capitalizing on somebody else’s mistake, but because I knew, as a writer, I too could help others deal with their joys and pains by sharing my own…

And that’s why I relate to her, love her and have a mini-lesbo crush on her.

And if she was really that angry… she would have had her way with Kanye, no?

Tänane päev lihtsalt võiks olemata olla. Lootus jääb, et õhtupoolik on parem, sest me ei kujuta hetkel ette, mida veel juhtuda võks, aga kindlasti on midagi põnevat veel ees.

Esimese asjana hommikul kell 7.03, väljas pilkane öö, astusin ma kott- tooli, jäin sinna kinni ja kukkusin. Põlv valutab veidi. Hommikukohvi jõudsin seekord ära juua, aga ei oleks pidanud kiirustama, sest loeng hakkas jälle kell 8.30. Halb nali seisneb selles, et tegelikult on see 8.15 ning ainus, kes nii hilja kohale tuleb, on põdrake.

Tänu hommikustele seiklustele olin unustanud, et üks lääts on katki, see tuli meelde alles siis, kui kirusin, et ta a) silmas ei püsi b) puhtaks ei lähe c) kraabib d) trammiga. Viskasin nad mõlemad ära, et ma enam selliseid lollusi ei teeks. Sellegipoolest, prille ma kotti ei pannud. Kõik mu tänased 4 loengut sisaldasid plaanide ja kaartide ning muu pisikese kribu- krabu vaatamist ekraanilt – lisaks põlvedele valutavad ka silmad.

Kolm loengut neljast toimusid ka samas ruumis. Seejuures soovin tagasi võtta oma kunagised sõnad auditoorium Ülikooli 18-128 kohta. See ei ole maailma kõige ebamugavam koht istumiseks. 128 võib olla puupindusid täis, aga seal on selja toetamiseks enam – vähem koht olemas ja soe on ka. Lossi 3- 427 aga on külm, liiga suur ja toolide seljatugi lõppeb vales kohas ära, lösutada ka ei saa, sest toolid on nii väikesed, et siis kukud lihtsalt sealt alla. Kolmanda loengu ajal sealsamuses kaalusin pooltühjas ruumis lihtsalt põrandale istumiset, sest see oleks olnud mugavam.

Tagatipuks astusin koju kõndides läbi vahtralehe koerasita sisse. Soovin tervitada hiiglaslikku (tõenäoliselt taksi, sest elan ju Karlovas) junni autorit ning selle ärapeitjat – you made my day!

Trenni ei julge minna, äkki kukun pikali või kerise peale (vt ka: kukkusin lõkkesse), õnneks ei jõuaks täna sinna nagunii.

UPDATE : mul on pisaranäärmepõletik (vrd ka kulm rullis) ning homme olen rebaste ristimisel Jeesuse hoor. See viimane on tegelikult päris lõbus, aga eilne päev oli küll liiga hea halb, et olla tõsi.

Last summer I saw Taylor Swift in concert. She was opening for Rascall Flatts.

We arrived mid-way through her performance with an attitude of disregard for the teenage, cross-genre star. At the time the only song of hers I was familiar with, and I didn’t even realize it was her until then, was “Should’ve Said No.”

As we sat there and analyzed her silver sequined dress, high boots and wavy thick rocker-chic blond hair, I started to envy her success and the confidence she portrayed at such a young age.

I was impressed, and her performance was excellent, but it was really the introduction to her song that won me over. She declared: ‘This song is about a guy who cheated on me. Which was stupid of him because I write songs.’ I thought about my own ex who had cheated on me, triggering our inevitable and long overdue break-up: “Well, wasn’t that stupid—because I’m going to write a book.’

With that, I smiled to myself. I not only idolized the young diva, but I related to her.

Since that day I have purchased both of her albums, which have been spent hours  on ‘repeat’ getting me through train rides, office hours and many tears—usually caused by a male who is inevitably represented by one of the cycling songs.

Should’ve Said No
Dedicated to my ex-boyfriend of four years—who I recently found out had put a deposit down on an engagement ring, but anyway—who I found out had cheated on me for two years of our relationship. They were mostly one-night stands, except for one girl who he actually dated behind my back for a couple of months. He is still in love with me…

Tell Me Why
A few months ago I came out of a verbally abusive relationship. He now has a new girlfriend, but that’s a-whole-nother story. It wasn’t until a week ago that I listened closely to the lyrics of this song and understood how much I could relate to it. I sure wish I had Miss Swift’s support four months ago.

You Belong With Me
Which describes the inexplicable connection I felt to my ex-boyfriend after meeting him—while he was still in a relationship. In the end this connection, although he also felt it, was not enough to weather the above mentioned turmoil.

The Way I Loved You
My most recent ex… again…

Actually, now that I think about it, her albums provide the majority of the theme music to our relationship—and break-up. Interesting…

Some of her more positive songs that receive repeat privilege are “Our Song” and “Love Story,” even if I don’t relate directly… yet!

Yet it seems like yesterday that you were placed in my arms for the first time.I didnt even know how to hold you properly,yet I knew we were a part of each other and I could never let go of you.I could so hold you close to me for life!

Your Papa & I remember every stage of your life ever since.Your first smile,when you burst into giggles at the mere sight of us making faces at you.When you rolled over for the first time,and then crawled in the next stage,to reach every nook and corner of the house.When you learnt to stand up unaided,then walk and then run as though theres no stopping you.

Our happiness had no bounds when you addressed us ‘Amma’ & ‘Papa’ for the first time.You began to pick up more and more words,eventually amaze us by rattling off in sentences.Now,however,the situation is such that we have to be always on guard while conversing around or with you lest you pick up any wrong word!

The last one year,especially,has seen you become more expressive,more emotive,more aware of your surroundings.You run to us with hugs & kisses galore for no rhyme or reason.Although,occasionally,we have to tempt you with chocolates,your favourite Barney series,or a visit to the kiddie-zone,so that you shower us with extra doses of kisses!

You love to dress up like me.you use my scarf to wrap around like a skirt.There have been times when you’ve tried to apply lipstick with your crayons and I’ve watched,oblivious to you of course,in wonderment at your observation.You’ve even made me wonder if becoming a beautician is what you have in mind by indulging in something like this.

‘Sorry’ was one word that you took the longest to grasp in your early stages.But now the very same word is what you use the most often.Each mischief of yours is suffixed by a ‘Sorry,mama,I’ll not do it again’!

You are also in the process of getting into the ‘tell-me-why’ phase where you have to question anything that catches your attention.

Namnam,today,when you’ve already taken your first few steps towards making your own mark in life,Papa & I would like to tell you a few things.

You may face many challenges on the way.Dont shirk from them,face them head on.Make your mistakes,and learn from them.You may even fall,but rise must you,even stronger.Know your mind.If you know you are right,stick to it.And if you know others are wrong,be known that you have every right to question them,even if they are your own parents.We will always guide you through the right path,however be assured that you will have all the freedom to make your own choices.Shape yourself the way you want to.Its not just your right,but your duty.

Molu,always know one thing,your Papa&I love you the most in the world.We are proud of you and always will be.
