Six cents  préavis de grève en 2007, près de 14 000 trains supprimés la même année, 9 millions d’euros de pénalités payés par la SNCF à la région pour se faire pardonner tous ces “petits tracas”, une association des Naufragés du TER qui se créé pour hurler le raz le bol des voyageurs,  et les élus de la région PACA “ne se sont pas encore posés la question de savoir s’ils étaient prêts à ouvrir leur réseau ferré à la concurrence” (dixit Patrick Allemand, 1er vice-président de région lors des Rencontres nationales du transport public qui se déroulent en ce moment à Nice) !

Pourtant, à partir du 3 décembre 2009, un règlement européen (OSP) permettrait à ces mêmes élus d’envoyer balader la SNCF et de se tourner vers les nouveaux entrants, pour voir s’ils se débrouilleraient mieux que l’opérateur historique. Deutsche Bahn, Veolia Transport, Keolis, Eurailco, pour en citer quelques uns, sont dans les starting blocks et n’attendent que le lancement d’un appel d’offres pour dégainer.

Seulement voilà, la région Provence Alpes Cote d’Azur (PACA) est présidée par le socialiste Michel Vauzelle et pour la gauche qui préside 20 régions sur 22, la fin du monopole de la SNCF est un gros mot. En Aquitaine, les élus ont signé une nouvelle convention de 10 ans avec la SNCF, histoire de la mettre à l’abri de la concurrence… Le mot d’ordre de l’Association des régions de France (ARF) c’est le statu quo avec la SNCF pour ne pas faire trop de remous social à quelques mois des élections régionales.

Remarquez, il n’y a pas que pour la gauche que la libéralisation du rail  est une grossièreté : le gouvernement fait lui aussi de la résistance et au lieu d’appliquer le fameux règlement OSP qui mettrait une peu de zizanie sur les rails de la SNCF, notre ministre des Transports réunit un  “Comité des parties prenantes” pour réfléchir à la meilleure méthode d’ouvrir les TER à la concurrence. Histoire surtout de gagner un peu de temps… jusqu’en 2019, date butoir.

Le rapport de la Cour des Comptes présenté le 25 novembre va t-il ouvrir les yeux des élus régionaux ? Il dresse un “bilan contrasté” du transfert aux régions du transport express régional, estimant qu’il a marqué “un progrès incontestable” pour les usagers, mais a constitué “une opération coûteuse” pour les acteurs concernés (régions, Etat, RFF, SNCF).

Pour l’heure, le souffle de l’ouverture à la concurrence n’est pas très vigoureux en France et, visiblement,  les naufragés du rail vont devoir lutter encore longtemps contre des vents franchement contraires.

L’Estartit és el barri mariner de Torroella de Montgrí. Avui és un nucli turístic de primer ordre amb un port activíssim, hotels i apartaments a primera línia del mar. L’Estartit es troba a 7 kms. de Torroella, punt d’accés únic i principal a aquest racó de mar. Darrerament ha estat el submarinisme i les excursions amb bots de fons de vidre, els principals motors econòmics del municipi. Potser hi ha qui trobarà que la Costa Brava, i l’Empordà, ens reserven sorpreses més boniques que l’Estartit. Que el nucli està massa venut al turisme i que les seves platges no són les millors de l’entorn. Tot això és cert i podem estar-hi més o menys d’acord. Però convindreu que l’Estartit és un bon punt d’excursions familiars. Primer per la seva platja gran, a tocar del port. Pots endinsar-t’hi fins ben lluny i sempre toques fons. Això és un avantatge clar per les famílies amb criatures petites i mitjanes. Sembla una platja de Tarragona traslladada a la costa gironina. L’altra gran motiu és les excursions marítimes. Anar en un bot, amb fons de vidre o no, i fer la volta a les illes Medes fa sentir els nostres fills i filles com pirates del Carib per un dia. A més, si ja heu fet les Medes podeu orientar la vostra excursió cal al nord, on l’imposant massís del Montgrí es llença al mar. De l’Estartit a l’Escala la línia de costa ofereix coves, roques foradades, penyasegats vertiginosos. Tot aquest món el recorren barques turístiques que surten de l’Estartit. Si dirigiu els vostres ulls al sud, l’Estartit us ofereix els inmensos arenals i aiguamolls del Ter. Totes les espècies d´aus possibles a casa nostra, arbres i plantes desconeguts trobareu en aquest espai protegit. Els aiguamolls del Ter Vell i la Gola són un paradís poc visitat, inconegut. L’impressionant massís del Montgrí amb el seu castell del segle XIII, omnipresent a l’horitzó, pot ser una altra fita a assolir. Una bona caminada, amb una bona recompensa. Pels més aventurers. Pels amants de les petites cales i coves on només es pot arribar a peu us recomanem costejar vora el mar. Trobareu llocs idílics que encara no tenen nom. Ja veieu que l’Estartit és un pol turístic. Que està ple de edificacions, de bars, d’hotels i hostals, de submarinistes amb ampolles d’oxígen, de barques. Però si sabeu cercar, trobareu. Per dormir a l’Estartit hi ha desenes d’hotels. Trieu el vostre de la web. Són tots ells típics hotels de marina. Molts tenen apartaments. No us podem recomanar. No solem dormir en hotels vora el mar. Preferim els de terra endins, com la Fonda Mitjà, o el Molí del Mig, a Torroella, tots dos també bons llocs per menjar. També teniu molts càmpings, de tota condició. Per dinar podeu anar a Can Falet, un bon lloc entre els centenars de bars i restaurants del poble. També ens han parlat bé de “Les Corones“.

L’Estartit es el barrio marinero de Torroella de Montgrí. Hoy es un núcleo turístico de primer orden con un puerto activísimo, hoteles y apartamentos en primera línea del mar. L’Estartit se encuentra a 7 kms. de Torroella, punto de acceso único y principal de este rincón de mar. Últimamente ha sido el submarinismo y las excursiones en botes de fondo de cristal, los principales motores económicos del municipio. Quizá hay quien encontrará que la Costa Brava y el Empordà, nos reservan sorpresas más bonitas que l’Estartit. Que el núcleo está demasiado vendido al turismo y que sus playas no son las mejores del entorno. Todo eso es cierto y podemos estar más o menos de acuerdo. Pero convendría decir que el Estartit es un buen punto de excursiones familiares. Primero por su playa grande, junto al puerto. Puede descubrir que allí puedes entrar hasta muy lejos y siempre tocas fondo. Esto es una ventaja clara para las familias con criaturas pequeñas y medianas. Parece una playa de Tarragona trasladada a la costa gerundense. El otro gran motivo són las excursiones marítimas. Ir en un bote con fondo de cristal, o no, y dar la vuelta a las islas Medes harà sentir a nuestros hijos e hijas como piratas del Caribe por un día. Además, si ya ha hecho las Medes puede orientar su excursión hay al norte, donde el imponente macizo del Montgrí se tira al mar. De l’Estartit hasta L’Escala la línea de costa ofrece cuevas, rocas agujereadas, acantilados vertiginosos. Todo este mundo lo recorren barcas turísticas que salen del Estartit. Si dirige sus ojos al sur, l’Estartit ofrece los inmensos arenales y humedales del Ter. Todas las especies de aves posibles, árboles y plantas desconocidas las encontrará en este espacio protegido. Los humedales del Ter Vell y la Gola son un paraíso poco visitado, desconocido. El impresionante macizo del Montgrí con su castillo del siglo XIII, omnipresente en el horizonte, puede ser otra meta a alcanzar. Una buena caminata, con una buena recompensa. Para los más aventureros. Para los amantes de las pequeñas calas y cuevas donde solo se puede llegar a pie recomendamos costear por el camino junto al mar. Encontrará lugares idílicos que aún no tienen nombre. Ya veis que el Estartit es un polo turístico. Que está lleno de edificaciones, de bares, de hoteles y hostales, de submarinistas con botellas de oxígeno, de barcas. Pero si se sabe buscar, se encuentra. Para dormir en l’Estartit hay decenas de hoteles. Elijan Vds. de la web. Son todos ellos típicos hoteles de marina. Muchos tienen apartamentos. No podemos recomendar. No solemos dormir en hoteles junto al mar. Preferimos los de tierra adentro, como la Fonda Mitjà, o el Molí del Mig, en Torroella, ambos también buenos lugares para comer. También tiene muchos campings, de toda condición. Para comer puede ir a Can Falet, un buen lugar entre los cientos de bares y restaurantes del pueblo. También nos han hablado bien de “Las Coronas”.

TRANSPORTS. Qui sont ces militants qui s’opposent farouchement à la ligne grande vitesse du tracé sud ? Ils ne désarment pas et font des élections régionales un cheval de bataille

LGV : Des voix contre les nouvelles voies

L’été dernier a été avalisé par le gouvernement le schéma de développement, proposé par le Grenelle de l’environnement, de nouvelles lignes à grande vitesse. 2 000 kilomètres de voies neuves sont concernés, dont une grande partie dans notre région. Et, presque à la surprise générale, des voix se sont élevées pour s’opposer à ce projet censé dégager le ciel et les routes. Qui sont ces anti-LGV ? Il y a quinze jours, ils étaient plus de 10 000 à manifester dans les rues de Bayonne. Du jamais-vu dans la ville du roi Léon. Et les réunions publiques dans le Sud-Gironde font toujours le plein.

Certains ne voient en eux que des « nimbys », ces « ronchons » qui ont adopté la position éthique et politique qui consiste à ne pas tolérer de nuisances dans leur environnement proche. D’autres les soupçonnent de vouloir revenir à l’âge des diligences, d’être des apôtres de la décroissance, des altermondialistes allant à l’encontre de la modernité…

« Ces qualificatifs utilisés par ceux qu’on gêne sont un moyen d’éluder le débat. Je ne suis pas technophobe mais technocritique. Il y a des limites au progrès si on ne fait plus cas de l’humain. Il faut savoir s’arrêter. Trois heures entre Paris et Bordeaux, c’est bien suffisant. Pourquoi lancer un projet pharaonique et ruineux pour gagner 50 minutes ? » s’interroge le chercheur Simon Charbonneau, un des chefs de file du mouvement.

« Machine arrière »

L’auteur de « Résister pour sortir du développement » avance un coût de 15 milliards d’euros pour la totalité du projet. « Je sais bien qu’il a été acté, mais cela ne signifie pas que c’est fait. La mobilisation continue contre ces cabinets d’études qui marchent à fond et ces ingénieurs et politiques qui manquent de bon sens. On espère que l’État fera machine arrière, car la banqueroute le guette », affirme-t-il.

Victor Pachon, instituteur à la retraite de Mouguerre, est à la pointe du combat en Pays basque. Là, peut-être plus qu’ailleurs, ils sont nombreux à espérer que tout n’est pas joué. « Que les choses soient claires : nous ne sommes pas hostiles au ferroviaire. Le fret et les TER (merci la Région) tissent du lien social, pas les TGV. Ces derniers sont un plus pour les grandes villes qui ont pour rêve l’Eurocité. Elles veulent attirer toutes la matière grise avec leurs aéroports, autoroutes et gares TGV. Ces cités du tertiaire grandissent en nous aspirant. Bref, le TGV assèche la province », clame-t-il.

Depuis 1992, il est à la tête du Cade (Coordination des associations de défense de l’environnement), qui regroupe 43 associations. Sa connaissance des dossiers en fait un adversaire convaincant et redouté. La majorité des rapports sur le sujet, français et européens, sont passés entre ses mains. « C’est simple, lors des réunions dans les villages, 90 % des documents que j’utilise pour mon diaporama proviennent de RFF (Réseau ferré de France) et de la SNCF », assure le bretteur. Des documents qui le confortent dans l’idée que « la priorité n’est pas de créer de nouvelles voies mais de moderniser l’existant ».

Selon lui, la LGV est source d’usure du matériel, d’effondrements de lignes et de consommation supérieure. Il dit que la vitesse sera de toute manière limitée à 220 km/h. Victor Pachon égraine un chapelet d’arguments et dénonce « l’arrogance de RFF et la Région ».

Remonté comme une pendule, il n’a pas hésité à organiser des référendums sur le sujet dans les communes basques. Il assure des participations dignes de municipales et indique que plus de 90 % des participants se sont prononcés contre la LGV. « On trouve chez nous des nonmilitants, des élus de droite, de gauche, des abertzale. Même le PNV (Parti nationaliste basque) nous soutient alors qu’il est l’initiateur du projet TGV au sud », poursuit Victor Pachon.

Jean-Louis Laduche, maire d’Ascain (sans étiquette, ex-divers droite), fait partie des 29 élus du Pays basque qui étaient présents à la manifestation du 17 octobre. Il en était même un des organisateurs. « Je suis une puce dans cette affaire, mais je ne veux pas y perdre mon âme. Si le tunnel de 10 kilomètres sous la Rhune est construit, j’irai porter ma démission de président de Natura 2000 à Bruxelles. » L’édile, pompier professionnel, souhaite une nouvelle expertise du projet qui confirmerait ce qu’a déjà annoncé en 2006 le cabinet suisse Citec, contacté à la demande des opposants. À savoir, des aménagements minimes sur les voies existantes permettraient d’absorber le trafic actuel et à venir. Un nouveau débat technique s’est tenu le 6 novembre, à la Communauté de communes Sud Pays basque. L’idée d’une action en justice a germé chez les élus.

« Des milliers d’électeurs »

Plus au nord, c’est une manifestation qui est annoncée à la gare de Langon, le 28 novembre. Denise Cassou, enseignante retraitée, sera en tête de cortège. La présidente de LEA (Landes Environnement Attitude) mène la fronde dans le Sud-Gironde. « Avec 600 millions d’euros investis, la Région va s’endetter pour quarante ans. Ceci pour un projet qui va à l’encontre de l’aménagement du territoire avec des gares excentrées, comme celle prévue à Mont-de-Marsan, pas vraiment judicieuses pour le bilan carbone », dit-elle.

Aujourd’hui, les anti attendent avec impatience la publication des listes pour les Régionales. « Nous savons qui est pour et contre la LGV. Et nous saurons dire non pas pour qui voter mais contre qui. L’associatif représente des milliers d’électeurs et les candidats feront bien de s’en méfier », avertit Victor Pachon.

« Chez eux, on trouve la carpe et le lapin »

À 65 ans, le sénateur socialiste landais Jean-Louis Carrère a décidé de ne pas se représenter à la Région. Encore un temps vice-président de la collectivité, chargé des infrastructures, il a toujours été en première ligne sur le dossier LGV.

Quelle image avez-vous de ces personnes qui vont contre le projet que vous portez ? Jean-Louis Carrère. Parmi eux, il y a des gens sincères de grande qualité. Ma porte leur est toujours ouverte. J’ai travaillé avec eux à tous les stades du débat public. Le problème, c’est que l’opposition à la LGV se cristallise au Pays basque et on se demande le fond des choses. J’ai du respect pour une manifestation de 10 000 personnes à Bayonne. Mais dans celle-ci, il y a la carpe et le lapin. On y retrouvait des élus UMP, des Verts, des écolos, des associatifs… Involontairement, j’ai l’impression qu’ils défendent des intérêts contraires à leurs idéologies propres.

Que proposez-vous à ces opposants à de nouvelles lignes ?

Leurs arguments ne sont pas secondaires. Il faut que nous prenions en considération les vraies questions qu’ils nous posent et essayer d’apporter les vraies réponses. Je veux qu’on les entende sur l’aspect financier, les nuisances actuelles et futures, le trafic qui ne justifierait pas de nouvelles voies. Mais qu’ils arrêtent d’aller contre le développement et de s’opposer à la grande vitesse par principe. Je leur propose de faire ensemble le cahier des charges de la LGV. Vérifions à chaque phase que nous sommes dans l’épure. Si ce n’est pas le cas, comme nous ne sommes pas des dogmatiques, on pourra renoncer.

Quelle est votre divergence principale ?

Nous sommes pour le développement, pas eux. Bien que souvent d’essence verte ou autre, ils s’opposent aux autoroutes et je le comprends, ils s’opposent au routier, je le comprends, mais qu’ils s’opposent au ferroviaire, là, je ne les suis plus. C’est une prise d’otage. La grande vitesse permet, entre autres, de faire passer du fret sur les voies existantes et sur les voies créées. Mon argument majeur est de leur dire : « Ne laissons pas le sud de l’Aquitaine, et Euskadi en particulier, à l’écart du progrès. » Il y a des enjeux énormes, et ce serait terrible d’être contraints de passer par le Béarn et Saragosse pour rejoindre Madrid et tout l’ouest de l’Espagne. Il y a urgence. Si on ne continue pas le processus, on peut se retrouver en 2016 avec la nécessité absolue de faire quelque chose. Et dès lors, il faudra attendre 2030.

Les associations disent qu’elles vont peser sur les élections régionales.

Cela vous inquiète-t-il ?

Cette forme de protestation est initiée par des personnes dont certaines siègent près de moi au Conseil régional. Elles ont un intérêt politique à se séparer de nous au premier tour pour faire le meilleur score possible. Mais il est dangereux de faire de la politique politicienne sur des grands projets de développement comme celui-ci. Ce sont des attitudes inconséquentes par rapport à l’intérêt général.

Het bureau onderzocht 242 beleggingsfondsen bij de acht grote pensioenverzekeraars: Aegon, ASR, Centraal Beheer Achmea, Delta Lloyd, Interpolis, Nationale-Nederlanden, Reaal en Zwitserleven. De gemiddelde TER voor deze fondsen bedraagt 0,85%. Zwitserleven heeft met 0,04% het laagste gemiddelde, terwijl NN gemiddeld 1,34% rekent. Aegon en ASR hebben de fondsen met de hoogste TER-ratio’s, oplopend tot 5,67%.

Lane, Clark & Peacock kan geen verklaring vinden voor de grote verschillen. “Zo’n honderd fondsen hanteren een TER van 1% of meer. Waarom deze fondsen beduidend meer kosten in rekening brengen dan anderen is niet duidelijk. Het gaat over het algemeen om gewone beleggingsfondsen die zich niet specifiek onderscheiden van andere fondsen.” Volgens het bureau kan een 0,5% hogere TER leiden tot 9% hogere kosten bij een gegarandeerde pensioenregeling; bij beschikbarepremieregelingen is het effect een 3% tot 9% lager pensioen.

When I bought my Let’s Go: France guide-book a few months back (and after I noticed its serious printing press error of 14-pages about Spain instead of France), I came across a list of annual festivals in my humble village of Montreuil-Sur-Mer. While most take place in the summer, I happily saw one at the end of October: Le Festival des Soupes et des Pains (The Soup and Bread Festival). The book described it as a lively event in the town citadel, with admission set at 5€…all-you-can-eat soup and bread. While I was really excited about this, I wasn’t sure how much other people would actually care to come up for it.

Apparently, plenty. After I mentioned it to several other American assistants in Lille, nearly all of them were ecstatic about the idea. Initially, about seven or eight assistants said they’d come up for it, but being the first weekend of the Vacances de la Toussaint (my first of four paid two-week vacations while teaching over here), naturally some people’s plans changed. But Rachel, Pat, Marc and Rory seemed determined on the prospect of an endless supply of soup.

I sent out a confirmation Facebook message a few days in advance to see who was still coming, as I became nervous about how many people I could actually fit in my tiny studio. On Friday evening, I received a very mysterious series of text messages from Marc, first asking for my address. I sent it back, also asking what time they planned to arrive on the train. He said that he and Rory wouldn’t be taking the train, and I’d see them the next evening. While they had previously joked about biking from Lille to Montreuil, we all thought they were kidding. The two towns are 68 miles apart. But no, the pair seriously conducted their own mini Tour de France, eleven hours from Lille to my studio. More on their arrival later…

While the two of them were probably up and getting ready to leave down in Lille early Saturday morning, I received a text message from Paul around 7:30 AM. It wasn’t really a problem as I was getting up at 8:00 AM anyway, as Nathalie was picking me up at 9:00 AM to drive me to the weekly morning marketplace in Le Touquet. But I’ve found that California and France are the perfect distance apart for receiving drunk dials and texts, at least on my end. As it was around 10:30 PM in San Francisco, the roosters were chiming “cocorico” (or, how the French hear “cock-a-doodle-do”) on my end. After chatting for about 30 minutes (who knows how much that cost him…), I got up and ready for Le Touquet. It was absolutely dismal outside, finally pouring for about an hour straight while we were at the marché. I ended up getting a pair of ankle-high flat grey boots, which Nathalie negotiated in French down to 20 € for me. She also very sweetly bought me a handful of noisette (hazelnut) chocolates, which I ate for lunch.

Shortly after arriving back at my studio, I embarked on the first of several trips down the hill to the train station, first to collect Rachel, who was coming in with the two Lance Armstrongs’ stuff. Then a few hours later, we headed back down to retrieve Pat, who was arriving from Paris after staying there for a night. While we were down at the station, this time at about 7:00 PM, we received calls from the biker boys that they had arrived in Montreuil and were waiting outside my apartment. After an 11-hour journey that involved popped tires and a Google Maps mistake that said there was a bridge over a river where there clearly wasn’t (I said they should have tried to caulk the wagon, but whatever), there they were: exhausted, sweaty and throwing back some beers, which turned out to be 7 € each – only 2 € less than the train ride would have been from Lille. Oh well.

After cleaning up and stocking up on beverages and snacks at the Shopi (a mini-mart) downstairs, we headed back into the bistro downstairs where my Paraguayan friend, Jean, is a waiter. For the first time ever, I ordered a seafood dish as my main course: mussels and fries. Probably the only seafood I can stand, it was very good, but I realized I’m not ready for a full seafood meal yet. I shared my mussels with the rest of the table and concentrated on the fries. As the boys were tired, and the weather wasn’t the best, we passed the rest of the evening in the studio playing cards and drinking French wine and beer.

When I awoke Sunday morning, aside from a headache, something that Julia said to me on Friday suddenly passed through my head: time change. I’m not sure when the time changes in the United States this year, but daylight savings time ended in France on Sunday morning, giving all of us an extra hour of much-needed sleep. My iPhone (with the Orange France Telecom carrier) changed the time for me, but my American Motorola didn’t.

After much-needed coffee and orange juice, we headed out for the weekend’s main event: The Soup Festival! There were over two dozen different kinds of soups, prepared by local farmers and chefs. Some of my favorites included spinach, pumpkin, Saint-Germain and, an oldie but a goodie, Lentil. Unfortunately, I missed out on the tomato garlic soup, and I wasn’t too impressed with the garlic or onion soups. But all the bread was amazing. However, I wasn’t quite prepared for how much of a mob scene it would be. People were pushing everywhere to get to the front, go to the bread station or over to the drinks tent, where sodas and du vin chaud (hot wine, which is divine and tastes like cider) were being sold. But it was so crowded that at one point, someone bumped into me and knocked the lens cap off of my camera. Rachel and I then spent the next five to ten minutes trying to find a tiny black, Canon lens cap on the ground covered in hay. It was useless, so I’ll have to buy another one at some point.

We made two trips to the Soup Festival, as we could re-enter for free for our tickets. In the middle of the day, we toured the ramparts of the village, as the weather was much warmer and brighter than the day before (with the exception of a 30-minute downpour around noon). We also saw a re-enactment of the Battle of Agincourt going on near the Citadelle, being that October 25 was the anniversary of that fight. But I found it a bit odd considering the British won that battle, not the French. After the second round of soup, we grabbed our bags and we all headed back to the train station. I was going with them as I’m leaving for the south of France from Lille on Tuesday, and there was no point in staying in Montreuil another night. Plus, its nice to make the two-hour journey with others when I’m usually by myself. But on the way down the hill, the boys had to stop and grab some souvenirs: two Festival des Soupes signs, which prompted many stairs when we were walking through the Metro station at Gare Lille Flandres later on. It was also extra nice as it was a rare direct train to Lille, although the train itself was an older model, one that Rory said “should have been retired after World War I.” A bit harsh…but true.

At the moment I’m at Rachel’s apartment in Lille, but tomorrow morning, us two plus Liz and Amy will be speeding southward on the TGV to Bordeaux. Tout à l’heure!

Há momentos em que o coração e a mente são assolados por pensamentos e sentimentos depreciativos, instantes em que simplesmente não dá pra ser feliz e terminamos casados com a tristeza.

Veladas ou escancaradas, as humilhações, os desdéns e os sarcasmos nos libertam deste maldito valor que damos à nossa imagem e reputação, mas eu como qualquer humano confesso, ainda sofro quando elas são arranhadas.

Às favas com as minhas cobranças e exigências pessoais, chega de tanta severidade comigo mesmo, pois o que eu procuro é um lugar para cantar.

Não suporto mais os ruídos de minha alma, ninguém consegue cantar em meio a tanto barulho provocado pelas culpas e ansiedades.

Há muita gente impedindo que eu cante, até parece que eu estou condenado a nunca mais cantar.

Mas não importa, o que eu mais quero é cantar, e cantar pra valer.

E para cantar eu preciso de silencio e casa vazia e, acima de tudo, não deixar que o cansaço me faça desanimar.

Música de encerramento do Fantástico é uma das mais odiadas pelas pessoas certas nos lugares errados. Quando aquele tradicional “boa-noite” dos apresentadores termina, o dilema de alguns trabalhadores começa. O dia seguinte é a segunda-feira e muita gente cansa só de olhar para o relógio e imaginar que ainda falta uma semana para o próximo fim-de-semana.

Por outro lado, quando o programa termina, uma boa parte das pessoas se anima, pois sabe que no outro dia irá levantar cedo para começar mais uma semana de esforço e criatividade; uma casta considerável de pessoas que tem a feliz oportunidade de colocar toda sua inteligência a serviço da humanidade.

Depois de ler esse artigo, todos os dias de manhã, quando se dirigir ao trabalho, você vai lembrar-se das minhas palavras. Se você é uma daquelas pessoas que levanta cedo na segunda-feira, ou todos os dias, pensando na sexta, há uma grande chance de você estar no lugar errado.

Não há como ser feliz no trabalho quando você fica o dia todo pensando na hora de ir embora, sinal de que a sua atividade, a empresa que você escolheu e o salário que você recebe não compensam a sua dedicação e inteligência. Isso é motivo suficiente para você reavaliar profundamente a possibilidade de mudança.

Eu rezo todos os dias de manhã para evitar ter que me dirigir ao lugar errado. Penso sempre que minha família é única, meu trabalho é gratificante, a empresa é a melhor que existe e as pessoas que trabalham comigo são profissionais de alto nível, os melhores que conheço. Ainda que isso não possa ser comprovado, por experiência própria, posso garantir que o estado de espírito diminui a ansiedade e amplia o sentido de realização.

Parte do sofrimento pode ser explicada pela nossa maneira de encarar a vida. Imaginar que existe um ambiente de trabalho onde não há discórdia, os chefes são sempre bonzinhos, a pressão não existe e os colegas de trabalho querem somente o seu bem é pura utopia. Portanto, o melhor a fazer é trabalhar sua maneira de conviver com as incertezas e as diferenças que fazem parte da vida pessoal e profissional.

O pensamento de Stephen R. Covey, autor de “Os 7 Hábitos das Pessoas Altamente Eficazes”, é pertinente ao assunto. Diz respeito aos Círculos de Influência e aos Círculos de Preocupação. Uma das formas de se determinar em que círculo nossa preocupação se encontra é distinguir entre o ter e o ser.

O Círculo de Preocupação vive cheio de ter: ter uma casa, um carro, uma vida melhor, mais dinheiro, um diploma, mais tempo, aprovação das pessoas ao seu redor etc. Por outro lado, o Círculo de Influência está cheio de ser: ser feliz, ser mais amigo, ser mais paciente, ser mais tolerante, ser mais aberto a novas idéias, ser mais receptivo e assim por diante. No primeiro círculo, o foco dirige-se para a ambição; no segundo, para o caráter.

O foco de atenção faz muita diferença na sua vida, pois quanto maior a preocupação com o ter, menor a qualidade do ser. Já pensou em quantas coisas sem as quais você pode viver tranquilamente? Isso é o que se pode chamar de supérfluo, coisas que entram na sua vida quando você menos pode ou precisa.

Da mesma forma que o Círculo de Preocupação e o Círculo de Influência atuam na sua vida pessoal, atuam também na vida profissional; considerando que somos criaturas indissociáveis, portanto, nossa ambição e nosso caráter estão em permanente conflito.

Por esse motivo a mente humana não pára e ao mesmo tempo em que recebemos um sinal de desaprovação por um comportamento equivocado, ou um delito qualquer, recebemos outro que nos conforta temporariamente do tipo “se todo mundo faz por que eu não posso fazer?”. E assim levamos a vida imaginando que um bem posterior pode compensar o mal anterior de alguma forma.

No trabalho agimos da mesma forma. Nossa preocupação concentra-se no ter e pouco no ser. Quer alguns exemplos? Quantas vezes você já pensou em ganhar a Mega Sena para pedir “a conta”, sumir do mapa e curtir a vida longe de tudo e de todos? Quantas vezes você intercedeu a favor de um colega que estava prestes a ser demitido injustamente? Quantas vezes você defendeu colega de trabalho diante do chefe?

De maneira geral, o pensamento dominante resume-se a “prefiro manter o emprego a ser a próxima vítima” ou “quando eu tiver dinheiro, eu ajudo”. Nessa hora entra em cena o ser humano comum, frágil, sujeito à escravidão da falsa segurança dos empregos formais que não permite bom-senso nem senso de justiça. O que vale mesmo é aquele velho recurso do passado: “salve-se quem puder”.

Quando o foco de atenção está concentrado basicamente no Círculo de Preocupação, o crescimento interior fica estagnado. Quando está concentrado muito mais no Círculo de Influência significa que a mente possui a maturidade necessária para agir prioritariamente com razão e discernimento diante dos dilemas, portanto, o pensamento flui e o crescimento não pára.

Ter dinheiro para conseguir mais tempo de fazer algo por si mesmo. Ter uma bela casa para manter a união familiar. Ter um belo carro para fazer mais amigos. Ter um cargo de alto nível para obter o respeito do grupo. Ter vários cartões de crédito para impressionar os amigos. Sinceramente, não desejo isso a ninguém. Seria muita pobreza de espírito.

Para resgatar a importância do Círculo de Influência na sua vida você deve refletir profundamente sobre os acontecimentos ao seu redor. Pensar que o trabalho é um martírio e a demissão é questão de tempo soa insegurança e imaturidade, um verdadeiro desperdício de energia vital. Há muito tempo eu adotei o Círculo de Influência como determinante na minha história para não viver exclusivamente preocupado em ser aquilo que a minha natureza não permite.

Quando o próximo fim-de-semana chegar ao fim e a música do Fantástico soar novamente ao seu ouvido, pense na segunda-feira como uma nova etapa da sua vida. Eu faço esse exercício toda segunda-feira pela manhã e penso que a semana que inicia será sempre melhor que a anterior. Penso positivo e não alimento falsas expectativas, porque conheço minhas limitações e as limitações do universo ao meu redor.

As palavras de Kemmons Wilson, empresário, encerram a nossa lição de hoje: “uma pessoa bem-sucedida reconhece sua responsabilidade em termos de automotivação. Tudo depende dela porque somente ela possui a chave da sua própria ignição.” O Círculo de Preocupação reflete a expectativa dos outros em relação à sua pessoa. O Círculo de Influência reflete basicamente o seu caráter. Em que círculo você se encontra nesse exato momento? Pense nisso e seja feliz.

U.S. DOLLAR: CAN THE GainS BE SUSTAINED?

The U.S. DOLlar strengthened dramatically on Friday, leaving many Currency Traders to wonder whether the DOLlar has finally hit a bottom.

also sold off aggressively, paving the way for further losses. However in order to consider whether the Gains can be sustained, we have to first understand the drivers behind the sharp rally in the dollar. Over the past few weeks, the dollar came under severe selling pressure and EVEn hit fresh year to date lows against some currencies. In that type of environment, it doesn’t take much to turn things around. Comments from Fed Chairman Ben BERnanke triggered profit taking in the dollar after he suggested that the Fed will be prepared to tighten when the economy improves. Granted this is a relatively obvious statement, the timing was perfect for the dollar. We have been talking all week about “Where the Fed Fits In” on the global easing and tightening scale and up to now, Fed officials only expressed their reluctance to implement an exit strategy. EVEn though we still do not believe that the Fed is close to removing their ultra easy unconventional monetary policies, they are strategically moving themselves closer to their peers or could be attempting to indirectly prop up the dollar.

Can the Gains in the Dollar be Sustained?

Dollar Short Positions Increase

According to the latest CFTC report, forex positioning in the Futures market is nearing extreme levels. For example, net Short positions in the British pound rose against the dollar to the highest level EVEr while Long positions in the Euro rose to the highest since January 2008. Long positions in the Canadian dollar also doubled while Long Australian dollar positions remained near 1 year highs. The only Currency that Traders trimmed their positions in was


USD/JPY,





but even then Short


USD/JPY





positions remained near 1 year highs. This confirms our belief that the short dollar trade has become VERy overcrowded and because of that, the dollar is setting up for a rally. Next week’s economic reports could provide the necessary catalyst. In the meantime, Canadian and J.P.nese markets are closed on Monday for holidays. It will also be a Bank Holiday in the U.S. but the equity and currency markets will be open for trading.

EUR/USD:





TIDE SHIFT FROM GERMAN TO FRENCH STRENGTH

The Euro is suffering today thanks to BERnanke’s hawkish comments and some tepid German economic releases. First there was Consumer Prices, which on a harmonized basis, were unable to keep up with expectations. This renewed some deflationary concerns in the region as Germany’s growth in Q2 has not been enough to circumvent these threats. There was also the German Trade Balance which showed that their surplus narrowed thanks to weak exports and a boost in imports. Germany’s international shipments fell for the first time since July and were down 20% on an annualized basis. This begs the question of whether or not Euro strength is starting to have an impact on the critical export sector. If so, the region may have to renew their distaste for a rapidly appreciating currency in an effort to ensure growth in the largest EURo-zone nation. However, in a day that showed a sluggish Germany also managed to reveal strength in France and Italy. Both countries reported better than expected Industrial Production. France, in particular, showed that output rose 1.8%, far exceeding last month’s gain of only 0.10%. Italian output on the other HANd rose by the most in about two decades. However the true strength of these reports is somewhat distorted by massive government stimulus programs including their equivalent of the cash for clunkers. For next week, keep an eye on Tuesday’s ZEW Economic Sentiment Index, Thursday’s Consumer Prices, and Friday’s Trade Balance.

GBP/USD:





MAJOR REVERSAL

The British pound fell dramatically today despite stronger than expected economic data. Based upon the latest Futures positioning from the CFTC, it appears that the short pound trade is getting just as crowded as the short dollar trade. However the momentum is on the side of pound bears along with fundamentals and technicals. Inflationary pressures are increasing based upon the latest producer price report and the trade deficit is narrowing, but compared to the rest of the world, the recovery in the U.K. has been modest. However the primary reason why the pound is underperforming is because of the dovishness of the Bank of England. Like the Fed, they are probably basking in the recent weakness of their currency but at the same time all it would take is one word from the BoE and the

could completely reverse its decline. Until they open their mouths and either express frustration with the decline in the pound or suggest that they are not planning to increase monetary stimulus, the pound could continue to fall. In the week ahead, there is a great deal of key economic releases due for release from the U.K. including their Inflation and employment reports.

USD/CAD:





HITS 13 MONTH HIGH HIGH ON BLOWOUT EMPLOYMENT NUMBERS

The big story in the currency market today is the Canadian dollar which soared to a 13 month high against the greenback after the stronger than expected employment numbers. For our readers, the hot report should not be much of a surprise since we said yesterday that “given the sharp rise in the employment component of IVEY PMI, we believe that not only could job losses be minimal but there is a good chance that Canada experienced positive job growth for the second month in a row. A strong labor market report should add to the upside momentum in the Canadian dollar and send it a fresh 12 month high against the greenback.” Job growth in September was the strongest since the Spring which reflects the relative outperformance of the Canadian labor market with that of the U.S. The unemployment rate also fell for the first time in over a year from 8.7 to 8.4 percent. When you have a country like Canada experiencing larger than expected job growth and another experiencing larger than expected job losses, you can imagine what the trend of the currency pair will be going forward. However not all news was good news for Canada this morning. The trade deficit in Canada hit a record low in August as exports plunged 5 percent. Imports also fell but not as aggressively as exports. Weaker demand was seen in most products but agriculture and machinery took the biggest hit. Although we are worried about the trade numbers, we do not believe that it will erase the upside momentum in the Canadian, but we will become VERy worried if trade fails to recover in September. With


USD/CAD





trading below the 1.05 level, there is no major support until parity. Looking ahead, the most important economic releases from the commodity currencies next week include retail sales and consumer prices from New Zealand and consumer prices from Canada.

USD/JPY:





UP MOST SINCE AUGUST

The dollar is finally making a break for it against the yen. The greenback took the biggest bite out of yen strength since the strong surge on August 7th. The fact of the matter is, now that expectations for a rate hike from the Fed have increased substantially, the BoJ seems to be falling behind the pack. There have been almost no inclinations that the BoJ is ready to raise rates, or stage an exit strategy for that matter. A critical weakness in the currency may have been finally realized. Nevertheless, economic data from today was pretty good. Machinery Orders rose off a record low to 0.5%. Even though this was not as much as markets had anticipated, it is still somewhat of a positive sign that spending cuts may start to subside. On a yearly basis, orders are down by 26.5%, better than the -34.8% reported last month. The main event for next week will be the Bank of J.P.n’s rate decision. However, after months of revealing little to excite markets, the decision is slipping into the realm of a currency market non-event. However, if they should reconcile today’s concerns by indicating that unwinding is not too far off, the yen should reverse its losses. Nevertheless, they will probably shy away from propping the yen up as, regardless of what Finance Minister Fujii says, it is becoming a destructive force for the economy.

are the thing of the past as the currency pair entered the Range Trading Zone which we determine using Bollinger Bands. At this point, the sell-off in the


EUR/USD





could extend to support at 1.4600, but even then the uptrend in the currency pair will not be broken. A drop below 1.4400 would be need to erase the current trend in the EUR/USD. However, if the currency pair resumes its rise back into the buy zone, resistance sits at this year’s high at 1.4840.

Fiziksel aktiviteler dışında da heyecan, korku, utanma ve sıkılma gibi pek çok olay, fizyolojik bir neden olmadığı halde bizi terletir.

Vücut ısısı dış sıcaklıklar veya gerilim yüzünden artış gösterdiğinde kan dolaşımı hızlanır. Böylece, ter bezlerinin aktif hale geldiği vücudun üst kısmına doğru bir sıcaklık akımı başlar. Ter aslında salgılandığında renksiz ve kokusuzdur. Fakat, bakteriler koltukaltı gibi sıcak ve nemli ortamlarda hızla çoğalarak bu salgının kötü kokmasına neden olur.

Terlemeye karşı ne yapabiliriz?

Ter kokusu için çok çeşitli çözümler var. En önemlisi temiz olmak. Bunun yanısıra da terlemenin yarattığı rahatsızlığı bir takım önlemler alarak en aza indirebilirsiniz;

Rahat ve hava alan kıyafetler giyin. Özellikle pamuklu kıyafetleri tercih edin.

Vücut temizliğine özen gösterin. Özellikle koltuk altında oluşan istenmeyen tüyleri alarak kötü kokuyu büyük ölçüde önleyebilirsiniz.

Ne kullanmalıyız?

Ter kokusunu azaltmanın iki yolu var; Deodorant ve antiperspirantlarla gün boyu hoş kokmak çok zor değil. Ancak deodorant ve antiperspirant birbirinden ayrı şeylerdir. Bu iki ürün en çok terlemeye karşı verdikleri savaş konusunda birbirlerinden ayrılırlar;

Deodorantlar

Deodorantlar antibakteriyel bazı maddeler ve alkol içerirler. Bu sayede de bakteri üremesini denetim altına alarak, ter kokusunun oluşmasını önlerler. Terin ayrışması için bakteriler belirli enzimlere gerek duyar. Bu nedenle bazı deodorantlar bahsedilen bu tür enzimlerden içerir. Diğer yandan ise daha çok parfüm yağları içerdiklerinden dolayı da güzel koku yayarlar. Örneğin Fa dedodorantları hijyenik tazelik sunarlar ve bu sayede de bakteri artışını durdururlar. Deodorant kullanırken dikkkat etmeniz gereken en önemli nokta deodorantı temiz ve kuru koltuk altına uygulamanızdır. Terli bir koltuk altına deodorantı sıkmak, oluşmuş ter kokusu ile deodorantın karışımından oluşan daha ağır ve kötü bir kokuya neden olur. Ayrıca giysinin üzerine sıkmak da kokuyu engellemez. Anti-perspirantlar

Antiperspirantlar, terlemeyi deodorantlara oranla daha fazla önlerler. Ter oranını ayarlayıp, çok fazla ter üretilmesine engel olurlar. Koltuk altına sürülen antiperspirant ürün, ter bakterilerinin pudra tabakası dışına çıkmasını engeller ve böylece bakteriler kuruyup gider. Alkol içermediklerinden dolayı vücut için son derece hafiftirler. Ayrıca ferahlatıcı bir etki sağlarlar.

A marketing expert says Kraft has done immense damage to its brand over the new vegemite name saga.

iSnack 2.0, Kraft’s new name for its creamier take on vegemite, was ridiculed so much that the US-owned company withdrew the name.

The backlash, mainly on Twitter and other social networking sites, pushed Kraft to leave the product with no name while voters decided on Cheesybite in an online competition.

Kenneth Miller, from University of Technology Sydney’s marketing school, has been following the campaign from the start and he thinks Kraft has now crossed the line.

“It’s one thing to be smart and clever but it’s another thing to be seen to do things to upset Australians,” he told ABC News Online.

“The reaction has been astounding. By making the decision to launch the original name, they’ve done something that’s upset Australians which they should’ve done more research about.

“The people’s opinion is that they’ve overstepped the mark with taking advantage of the situation to some extent.”

That astounding reaction has involved plenty of criticism of the media, including of ABC News Online. Critics say Kraft stole headlines and just managed to get a lot of free publicity.

And if any publicity is good publicity, then Kraft has had a very good week.

“There’s potential to do significant brand damage to vegemite and Kraft because people are talking about it and they’re not talking about how wonderful Kraft is,” he said.

“They’re not talking about how wonderful the product is – the former iSnack 2.0 – they’re talking about things that will damage the brand.

“This has given people the opportunity to talk about the brand going to the US and people not being happy, and about Dick Smith’s rival brand.

“Often what marketers do in this day is just try to get people talking about the brand… but they’ve got to be good things that people talk about.

“I honestly don’t think the word-of-mouth’s favourable, so that damages the brand and the brand equity.”

Was it a ploy?

Professor Jordan Louviere is the executive direction of UTS Centre for the Study of Choice, which tests name information, advertising campaigns and product features.

He says Kraft could have easily avoided the backlash.

“It’s dead easy to find out whether a name like this is appropriate or not and the likely reaction of consumers to be,” he told ABC News Online.

But Professor Miller does not think Kraft was actually clever enough to plan the whole strategy from the beginning. And if they were, he says Kraft has only managed to hurt both credibility and consistency of the brand.

“It’s just put some people off,” he said.

“You really have to wonder what’s actually happening in the organisation to actually approve a name that got such big backlash to an iconic product.”

Like many ABC readers, Benjamin Solah wrote in to say how much he did not want to hear about this.

“I don’t care about VEGEMITE! It’s a condiment. Why do people care???? Some people can’t afford vegemite on toast and we care about what it’s called??? Care about poverty or war or something that MATTERS!” he wrote.

Professor Miller certainly agrees, saying Australia is tired of hearing about the spread’s conundrum.

“It’s a trivial topic – a brand name issue – when there’s critical issues going on in the world and people are going hungry,” he said.

But more importantly, “a lot of people just don’t like cheese and Vegemite,” Professor Miller says.
