I have it on good authority that you are indeed made of green cheese… and that you are most definitely not the moon. I will reserve any comments on your equatorial radius and lack of testicles. While I am indeed old, science progresses at a rate where age may be rendered irrelevant in the near future… thus ensuring more time for me to complete my total World (and Lunar) Domination.

If you keep up this behavior, you will most certainly not be allowed on the moon.

Although, I’m guessing from my blog stats that you have been one of the people exploring my old W(aL)D files. Too bad the beginnings were wiped out in one of the great PittsburghBeat.com crashes. For this studious devotion, your feeble attempts at threatening me will be forgiven. Perhaps one day, you can work up to a position of merit in the W(aL)D army.

Perhaps I need to ramp up the efforts to my World (and Lunar) Domination campaign? Maybe I will need to enlist some generals once again to help in the effort.

The tide of the gaming industry is at it’s peak as winter is nearing and special treats are coming. On this week’s issue we have Microsoft denying the massive ban implementation on Xbox Live accounts, some hot Ninja Gaiden costumes & Some Starcraft 2 news.

Microsoft denies the Apocalyptic move over Xbox Live.

Microsoft’s XBOX Live last action sent a huge tremor all over the world. Apparently a huge amount of Xbox Live enthusiasts ended up getting their accounts banned from the said network. The said banning was under the move “To eliminate piracy”. Although the story still goes on but this time around, Microsoft denies that such incident occured. Entirely, GM Marc Whitten made the statement “I cannot explain to you why people would think it was a million people. It wasn’t a million people”. SO yeah i guess in total it may never be a million, just 999,999 users.

Starcraft II Updates

Blizzard all time favorite game, STARCRAFT which is getting a sequel coming this first quarter of 2010 known as Starcraft II recently had it’s a site update. THe updates includes a peek on S2’s single player modes, campaigns and some added details to the Zerg’s Changeling and other cool stuff. You can drop by their site to see it for yourself.

Si hablamos de juegos de estrategía a la cabeza se nos vienen títulos como Age of Empires, Rise of the Nations, Command and Conquer, Caesar, entre otros, pero si hablamos de juegos de estrategía futurista hablamos de EL juego, StarCraft, el RTS de Blizzard que en 1998 debuta como uno de los juegos más vendidos de todos los tiempos.

StarCraft trataba la historia de tres razas, los Terran, los Zerg y los Protoss, estas tres razas jugaban al cachipún luchaban entre si en distintas campañas y episodios (3 en total), además de una Expansion llamada “Brood War” (Guerra de Razas). La gracia del juego es las características unicas de cada especie, donde los Terran poseen un arsenal potentes, soldados con rifles, lanzallamas, espias invisibles, tanques, aviones, cruceros de batallas, etc; los Zerg que tienen la capacidad de regenerarse, esconderse bajo la tierra, crear verdaderas plagas de extraterrestres; y los Protoss, que son la imagen de guerreros que luchan por el honor, cuerpo a cuerpo, con una resistencia impresionante.

Todos disfrutamos alguna vez de StarCraft, con sus emocionantes campañas, su acción, sin duda fue diversión asegurada. Bueno, despues de 9 años de la salida del primer juego (especificamente en Mayo del 2007) Blizzard anunció que estaría pronto a lanzar la segunda parte, con el nombre de StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, de el cual solo podemos encontrar diseños conceptuales, trailers y cosas varias, y alguno que otro rumor o cosas por estilo.

Dentro de lo oficial, Blizzard anunció que StarCraft II estaría listo entre abril y junio del 2010, asi que si tenias alguna expectativa de jugarlo este año, te dedico y me autodedico un gran CUEK!. Pero lo más probable es que el Beta de SCII esté listo para el primer trimestre del 2010, asi que ni tan enojado estoy.

This is the latest report featuring one on one battle between Protoss (Yeon-Ho Lee) and Terran (David Kim) (mas magagaling nga ba ang mga Koreans?). It shows the classic massive land units battle and value of research to advance in the game.

There’s not much to say about this latest Starcraft 2 Battle Report. We get a protoss vs. terran match with the known-by-now over the top dramatic commentary but we do get to see some Psi Storms and Nukes in action.

Charles brought me and my mom to church very early in the morning because I was the worship leader last Sunday and we had to practice. After the service, several of my cousins including my younger sister and brother and Charles and I went to McDonald’s near church to eat lunch. When we got back inside the car after the quick lunch, Charles was pointing somewhere and asking me, “Oh, look, what’s that?”

I, being the gullible thing, followed where his hand pointed. When I turned back at him he was hold a square shaped something wrapped in red and white plaid pattern. He said it was a prize because I passed the boards. And I guessed it right too. It was a copy of Griffin and Sabine! I just had to kiss him He made me really happy.

Charles and I then headed to Galleria with Koji, Alyanna, and Marvin. Marvin was the first one to go to the pc shop, while the rest of us went to Photoline to have my picture taken first. I needed it for my PRC license. We also decided to get a picture taken together just for fun. We chose a red background, but it was just photoshopped in. It looks rather awful when we got it afterwards, but I had an idea that we doodle on the background. We haven’t done it yet, but I started a small doodle on mine already. Heheh.

We went to Toys ‘R Us to buy a toy gun. Koji needed it for a project. They were making a movie about globalization. I’m curious. I want to see it when they’ve finished. Hehe. Then on our way to the cashier, Alyanna found the 20Q Ball. She had always wanted to own one when Bethany (our cousin living in Shanghai) showed hers. It was a good thing Alyanna opened the package right away, since we found out it wasn’t working. The employee there changed the batteries, but he didn’t put the cover back on properly so we had to go back and asked someone else to screw it on right. It annoyed Charles and Koji. Haha.

Marvin was already playing when we got to the computer shop. We had planned to play Starcraft, but the plan failed because there wasn’t enough of us and there weren’t enough pc’s available. So the four of us decided to just go around the mall.

Our first agenda was to buy me slippers, because my heels were killing me. Charles gave me a little scolding Said I should always leave a pair of slippers in his car. Hehehehe. But we didn’t get there right away because I saw pretty leggings in Forever 21 Alyanna went to check it because I thought they were liquid leggings. Well, they weren’t, but still very very pretty and I wanted my own pair. Hehe. I tried on a party dress. Alyanna took a picture of me.

Haha! If only I had enough to money to buy it! But I didn’t have any… So I’ll just have to make do with a picture. Hehehehe…

So after checking out dresses, we went inside the department store to buy me a pair of slippers. I kept kidding Charles to buy it for me. Hehehehe. We decided to eat at Frostings. Koji suggested it and I was suddenly craving for a red velvet cupcake. But we could get to our destination right away. We were distracted by other shops. Haha. We went in one of my favorite shoe store, Aldo. I tried on some shoes and they were having a sale! If only I had cash…. Sigh.

I would upload the shoe on sale here, but sadly… I can’t find on the net. I wasn’t able to take a picture of it. Hmm. Oh well. Let’s just hope it’s still there by the time I get some money on my hands

I don’t quite remember where else we went, but we finally got to Frostings. There was a kiosk nearby and I found cute uniquely shaped erasers–food erasers–the one my younger sister loves collecting…  I grew fond of them too so I’ve always kept in mind to buy some for Seth if I get the chance to come across one. And I finally did.

Charles and I picked our surprise for Seth and planned to buy the other designs for next time. So happy

My dad called and set me on an errand to buy a clip for his keys. And we came across Saizen where everything sells for P85. Haha… Found more erasers there and arm warmers.

My sister likes to copy Selena Gomez’s fashion from Wizards of Waverly Place, so I decided to buy those for Seth too next time. Haha. I think my mom would want to shop there too. She just loves household items.

So that’s just about it. We went home after that because Charles’s needed to be someplace. He dropped us off in my house and stayed for a bit before going home to fetch his mom. (Alyanna finished Griffin and Sabine in a few hours.)

Time for the next post from your “douchenozzle, cocksucking, little man-bitch, assmunching, holocaust denying, psychopathic troll” of a host. Thanks for the new name Peter, I love it!

Anyway, onto the real business: Starcraft and Starcraft MOCs. For those of you who don’t know Starcraft, it’s a very popular real time strategy game. The game has been gaining more and more popularity (or so it seems) as the sequel comes closer to being released. With that popularity there come the MOCs (just look at Halo). Flickr user AGI-bear has attempted one of the larger vehicles in Starcraft (on the Terran side), the Battle Cruiser. This MOC, while having the main shape, some of the correct colors, and at least some of the needed greebling, doesn’t quite hit the bulls-eye on the look. The color itself looks to be very messy. Red highlights being thrown in a lot of spots that just don’t seem right. It also seems that the greebling went just a bit over the top as well. The reference image that I linked to previously shows a rather smooth ship with a few greebs. One final thing that bugs me is the massive amount of ball turrets used. Yes, the reference shows some guns right there, but nowhere near the amount he has used. I guess I’m just being picky, but, I don’t really care.

While at Blizzcon, I had the opportunity to play Starcraft 2 a couple of times.  From what I could tell, Starcraft 2 should definetly fill the 11 year void in the Starcraft line since the Brood War expansion for the original Starcraft game.  I honestly think that this game will have the following and lasting power that Starcraft had; it seems to have a lot of the best features and play style that made Starcraft one of the most popular games of all time.  The graphics, obviously, have been updated and the game looks great; it is one of the sharpest looking games I have ever seen (even more so than Diablo 3 or the new World of Warcraft expansion, Cataclysm).  The comptuer’s AI seems to have been more than tweaked and should have be advanced enough for even seasoned veterans of either the psionic Protoss, the adaptable Terrans, or the insectoid Zerg to find a challenge in single player free for all games.

Welcome to the first post and pictures for my Warhammer Dark Angels army. Though I have been working on this project for a while I have only now decided to share it while I get more of those Anime photos edited!

Here are some Wip shots of the Space Marine infantry that I am working on. They are based on the Doghouse Gothic design (a model maker) based on enlarging the Space Marines to more realistic proportions compared to the rest of the figure range (Space Marines are depicted as being 7ft tall).

Here is Dark Angel Squad 1, I will add finished shots of the squad once I have completed all the little details. All figures were painted with Vallejo paints and detailed with Tamiya weathering systems.

The army is based on the 7th Chapter of the Dark Angels,  1st Legion of the Emperor’s armies. It has a high proportion of Terran Veterans who have stylised hair (braided). All details are from the books “Descent of Angels” and “Fallen Angels”.

Um novo vídeo foi disponibilizado pelo site Gametrailers. Nele, podemos ver uma jogatina em modo multiplayer, por cerca de 7 minutos. No vídeo, é possível apreciar a batalha entre as três raças; Terran, Zerg e Protoss. Uma palhinha do que está por vir.

Jakies dziesięć lat temu, późnym wieczorem, podczas jednego z osiedlowych posiedzeń ławkowych, w wyniku burzliwej dyskusji ze Szrexem, doszliśmy do wniosku, że ludzkość to dość słaby gatunek, który prędzej czy później spotka rychły koniec. Pomijam fakt, dlaczego dwóch czternastolatków, zamiast spać, siedzi nocą na dworze i dlaczego zamiast o piłce nożnej, czy o czym tam rozmawiają normalne dzieci, gadaliśmy o upadku naszego gatunku. Ważne jest to, że do całej rozmowy zainspirowały nas dwie rzeczy: gwiazdy i… Starcraft.

Gwiazdy są dość uniwersalnym czynnikiem inspirującym. Podejrzewam, że każdy człowiek, którego stać na jakąś formę intelektualnej penetracji rzeczywistości, chociaż raz spoglądał w ich kierunku.  Siedzieliśmy więc, popalając buchnięte rodzicom papierosy, bawiąc się rozmową nt. anihilacji gatunku. O ile pamiętam, wszystko zaczęło się od luźno rzuconego konceptu, że było by “fajnie”, gdyby pojawił się nad nami Terrański Battlecruiser. Patrzeliśmy więc do góry i każde zastanawiało się co by było gdyby. Kolejny, całkiem zresztą “logiczny”, punkt naszej dyskusji, był oparty na śmigającym po chodniku Hydralisku i naszych szansach przeżycia, gdyby coś podobnego miało miejsce. Po inicjalnej salwie śmiechu, z ust mojego rozmówcy padło zdanie, które nie wiedzieć czemu, pamiętam do dzisiaj.

“A kojarzysz, że jak marinsi strzelają do Zergów, to są takie małe <<odpryski>> na ich pancerzach? Kurde, przecież my byśmy nie mieli szans, nie mówiąc już co by było, gdyby nie było karabinów“.  Zaiste, jak na nasz wiek, głębokie . Czy jednak mało prawdziwe? Dalej rozmowa potoczyła się dość wartko, wspólnymi siłami doszliśmy do wniosku, że byle tygrys jest w stanie zrobić z człowieka nowy blend Tyrolskiej, jednym -raptem- machnięciem łapy. Słowem, ludzie to gatunek skazany na zagładę, bo istnieją jedynie dzięki ujarzmieniu technologii, która prędzej czy później ich zawiedzie.

Mija dziesięć lat. Ze Szrexem znamy się -i oddajemy podobnym rozmowom- do dzisiaj i o ile odbyliśmy jeszcze wiele więcej, ciekawszych rozmów na podobne tematy, o tyle to do czego dąże, to jednak zilustrownie wpływu tego typu postrzegania rzeczywistości i przełożenia tegoże na normalną współegzystencję z homo-nie-geekus. Popatrzmy.

Kocham zombiaki. Gdyby George Romero i Shinji Mikami potrzebowali nerki, niech śmiało dzwonią. Może dlatego po wejściu do dowolnego pomieszczenia momentalnie oceniam szanse przyżycia, gdyby biegła za mną grupka tychże (zombiaków, nie Mikamich i Romerów ). Ilość okien, wytrzymałość drzwi, stanowić będą pewnie kluczowy czynnik przy wyborze nowego “m”. Panic room też by się przydał. Doszło kiedyś do tego, że przeliczałem ilość dżemów i kompotu w piwnicy, celem sprawdzenia ile dni był bym skłonny przetrwać, gdyby umarłym zdecydowało się od-umrzeć. Paranoja, czy “umiejętność”? .

Kolejny przykład, mainstreamowo, jest dość “na czasie”. Ballmer okazuje się być obcym (to tylko kwestia czasu), borguje Sieć i wszystkie systemy obronne USA obracają się przeciwko ludzkości, robiąc generalny rozpierdziel. Nakręcili o tym już kilka filmów, z których najnowsza odsłona niedługo trafi do kin. Jak zachowa się gracz w zestawieniu ze zwykłym człowiekiem? Przecież każdy z nas umie strzelać (przynajmniej w teorii) z M4A1 czy AK47, wie, że granat trzeba “gotować” przed ciśnięciem, zna docelowe reakcje żołnierza w trakcie walki itd. Pilotowanie śmigłowca, prowadzenie czołgu – wszystko to nie wydaje się wcale takie trudne. Czyżbyśmy byli predestynowani do ocalenia ludzkości?

Co więcej, potencjał tego, o czym piszę, wydają się widzieć sami wojskowi. Wojna w dzisiejszych czasach dąży do rozwiązywania konfliktu na odległość. Zapomnijmy o braniu wroga na bagnety, od tego są specjalne jednostki, które walczą w bliskim kontakcie. Reszta wdusza guziki. Nawet nomenklatura wojskowa (w tym przypadku akurat amerykańska) jest mocno odarta z emocjonalnego ładunku, który niesie za sobą zabicie człowieka. Tally on the target? Namierzyłem cel. Good tone? Rakieta złapała cel. Fox 2? Odpaliłem rakietę. Splash 1? Przeciwnik strącony. Czy gdziekolwiek widać, że właśnie zabito człowieka, który miał rodzinę, przez -dajmy- 30 lat tak jak i my podejmował życiowe wybory, oddziaływał na innych itd? Nie używa się nawet słowa “destroyed”. Najzabawniejsze jest to, że wstępem do mojej znajomości tematu były gry takie jak America’s Army (które jest przecież niczym innym jak próbą zindoktrynowania amerykańskich nastolatków), a terminologię przypomniał mi niedawno ukończony HAWX, Żigolaka Clancy’iego.

Przy tym wszystkim, staram się nie uciekać do oceniania tego trendu – uważam, że to naturalny rozwój “rzeczy”, na który nie mamy i nie będziemy mieć wpływu, jako jednostki. Podobnie zresztą jak wpływu nie miał generyczny John Smith na industrialną rewolucję, czy Yamada Hanako (taki “ichszy” Smith) na pojawienie się broni palnej w feudalnej Japonii. Interesuje mnie jedno – jak gry wpływają na Was?

Efter att i alla år inte ha tyckt mig passa in nånstans, mest på grund av att jag inte kan säga att jag är exempelvis “svensk”, insåg jag medan jag spelade Starcraft att jag är:

Terran.

Real Time Strategy games hold a very dear place in my heart. Having grown up playing Dune 2 and Command and Conquer way back in secondary school and becoming jaded with the genre, Blizzard’s offering of Starcraft was a breath of fresh air. I played this game all through college.

With the phenomenal success of Starcraft, a second Starcraft was announced at Blizzcon 2008.

StarCraft II, originally envisioned as a single game, was announced to be a trilogy at BlizzCon 2008, consisting of one game followed up later by two expansion packs, provisionally entitled Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void respectively.

Unlike the original series, where each game had three 8-10 mission campaigns, one for each race, each game in the StarCraft II trilogy will have only one, 26-30 mission campaign centered around a single race. The Terrans will be the focus of the first campaign, followed up by Zerg and Protoss races in the expansions. Every game in the trilogy will have all races available to play during the skirmish or multiplayer and online modes. Blizzard claims that each part will have enough content to feel like a full game in its own right. No release dates have been announced for the trilogy as yet.

The campaign storyline of StarCraft II takes place four years after StarCraft: Brood War, and features the return of a number of characters from the original series; including Zeratul, Arcturus Mengsk, Artanis, Sarah Kerrigan, and Jim Raynor. Players will also revisit original series’ worlds, like Char, Mar Sara, and Braxis; as well as new worlds, such as the jungle planet Bel’Shir. It has been confirmed that the Xel’Naga, the ancient space-faring race responsible for creating the Protoss and the Zerg, play a major role in the story.

Arcturus Mengsk has been left to rebuild the Dominion, and is consolidating his power while fending off harassment from rival Terran groups. Valerian Mengsk, a character introduced in the novel Firstborn, will play an important role in Dominion politics, due to his position as heir apparent to the throne.

Meanwhile, Jim Raynor, whose role in the events of StarCraft and Brood War has been marginalized by the media under the Dominion’s control, has been reduced to mercenary status, and has been shown to be doing business with the “Moebius Foundation”, a new faction which is interested in ancient Xel’Naga artifacts.

Chris Metzen, Vice President of Creative Development at Blizzard, has emphasized that by the events of StarCraft II, Raynor has become jaded and embittered by the way he was used and betrayed by Arcturus Mengsk. Other new characters to the series include Tychus Findlay, first introduced in the StarCraft II teaser cinematic, a marine who will be a member of Raynor’s crew, and Matt Horner, Raynor’s second in command, a character originally featured in the novel Queen of Blades.

Following the fall of Aiur and the death of their matriarch Raszagal, the Protoss have retreated to the dark templar homeworld of Shakuras. There, Artanis, a former student of Tassadar, is trying to unify the Khalai Protoss and the dark templar, who have nearly separated into a tribal mindset as a result of centuries of distrust. Zeratul, tormented over the murder of his matriarch, has disappeared to search for clues to the meaning of Samir Duran’s cryptic statements regarding the Protoss/Zerg hybrids in Brood War’s secret mission “Dark Origin”.

According to his criminal record within the trailer, Findlay is a convicted criminal from Mar Sara, sentenced for murder, piracy, theft, larceny and narcotics offenses, and is also suspected of several other crimes. His death sentence was commuted for service in the Marine Corps. At BlizzCon in August of 2007, Findlay was shown in the single-player campaign demonstration, in the service of Jim Raynor. It was later revealed in BlizzCon 2008 that he escaped from prison and, in the Terran campaign’s opening missions, tracked down Raynor and recruited him to work for the Moebius Foundation

Brought to life by Martin Canale and his talented team, The Gore Group, this stunningly detailed statue has to be seen in person to be believed.

 Nothing painted as yet, but omg, the detail on this piece is already shaping up to be quite awesome.

Standing at 18″ tall, the sheer presence of this statue is simply awe-inspiring. While the composition of this statue isn’t the most creative, it is the immense detail in the actual piece itself that takes the breath away.

The bad news: this statue was only available to customers in the EU and US for direct order.

The good news: yours truly managed to get my hands on one, and here it is in all its full coloured glory!

From the tiniest weather worn detail at the paint application level,

to the blood soaked rock on which the recently dispatched Hydralisk lies (note the beautiful detail on the carapace!),

to the spent cartridges,

To the scars and pores on Findlay’s face (I’ve seen my fair share of human representation, but this is absolutely amazing!),

Weighing in at roughly 7kg, this is one solid piece of art. I would rate this beauty 4.5/5. It basically loses points for the pose, but that, in no way, detracts from the perfection of this statue.

 I remember feeling the hairs on my back stand when I saw the official game trailer that was released by Blizzard Entertainment some time ago.

It certainly is about time I got my Starcraft fix…

Ok kids! Lets get down with a little strategy. Let us run those computers at max settings and hope they do not melt into the ground! Oh wait never mind, Star Craft II is easy to run, fast game play, and easy to learn. So everyone lets get our beta KEYS! Yes Blizzard has announced that there will be a ST2 Beta! Ya that’s a little pre in pants right there its ok it will dry soon. Now how do you get these hidden and secret keys? Well Jimmy has the answer! Go to the new battle net site, make an account, register any Blizzard games your have and go to your Beta profile settings. You will have to download a little program that will check what your system can do, do not worry it works in 5 seconds and is a quick DL. So no reason not to get into this so I want you all out there kicking some zerg ass, Beat those rushers in the ground! All my info was found on  Blizzard, probably some better direction on there any ways : P

Blizzard has put up the second video of Battle Report two days ago. Unlike the first one that was Protoss versus Terrans, we get to see a battle against Zerg and Terrans. I was waiting for this – I love the Zerg race!

We get to some nice action with Matt Cooper (Zerg) against David Kim (Terran). Still without a release date, fans are waiting impatiently for it to come out. Well, I am in any case. As you must know, the game will be in three different versions: Starcraft II – Wings of Liberty, Starcraft II – Heart of the Swarm and Starcraft II – Legacy of the Void.
