සරත් ෆොන්සේකාගේ දේශපාලන ආගමනයේ හෝ අඩු තරමින් එවන් රාවයක් පැතිර යාමේ ලේඛකයා දකින එක් සාධනීය ප්‍රතිඵලයක් නම් මෙතෙක් සිවිල් සමාජයට අනවශ්‍ය හිරිහැරයක් වූ ‘මිලිටරි වන්දනාව’ නතර වීමය. මෙය හොඳ දෙයකි. පසුගිය සිව් වසරක කාලය තුළ සිදුවූයේ නිදහසෙන් පසු තියා අප දන්නා කාලයක් තුළ ඉන් පෙරවත් නොවූ විරූ ලෙස සොල්දාදුවා සිවිල් වැසියාගේ කරට නැඟ ගැනීමය. සිවිල් වැසියාට එය මුවින් නොදොඩා ඉවසීමට සිදුවූයේ දැවැන්ත රාජ්‍ය අනුග්‍රහයක් යටතේ ‘රණවිරු’ යන ආකර්ෂණීය යෙදුමට මුවා වී මිලිටරීකරණය පුම්බා තබා බයිනෙත්තුවක් අමෝරාගෙන තමන් මරන්නට එන හෝ තමන්ගේ පුතු, දියණිය ත්‍රස්තවාදී ලේබලය අලවා අනිවාරතයේ මරා දමන ලද සොල්දාදුවකුට පවා එරෙහිව වචනයක් ලිවීම මහා ව්‍යසනයකට අත වැනීමක් වූ නිසාය. තිස්සනායගම් වසර විස්සකට බරපතළ වැඩ ඇතිව සිරගත කරන ලද්දේ සොල්දාදුවා දෙවියකු සේ සලකා වැඳ නොවැටී ඔහුගේ අන්තනෝමතික ක්‍රියා කලාපය ප්‍රශ්න කළ නිසාය. ත්‍රිකුණාමලයේදී අපොස උසස්පෙළ හදාරන දෙමළ සිසුන් පස්දෙනකු ශ්‍රී ලංකා හමුදාව මඟින් ඝාතනය කරනු ලැබුවායි කියන ලද කල්හි අසාධාරණය දැක දැක ඔවුන්ගේ මාපියන්ට නිහඬ වීමට සිදුවූයේ එනිසාය. දෙමළකු මිලිටරීකරණය ප්‍රශ්න කිරීම යන්තම් මාස කිහිපයකට ඉහත ආනන්තරිය පාප කර්මයකට සම විය.

සරත් ෆොන්සේකා ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී රාමුව තුළ තමන්ට ඇති අයිතිය භාවිතා කොට දේශපාලනයට පිවිසීම මේ තත්ත්වය සම්පූර්ණයෙන් වෙනස් කළ ආකාරය සිනහ උපදවන සුළුය. යාන්තම් මාස කිහිපයකට පෙර ගැබ්බර කාන්තාවක් තම අසුනින් නැඟිට සොල්දාදුවකුට එය පරිත්‍යාග කිරීම අනුදත් සිංහල බෞද්ධ ගෝත්‍රික සමාජයම, සොල්දාදුවන්ට මිනරල් වෝටර් බෝතල් යවන්නට පාසල් ළමුන් මාර්ගයෙන් මුදල් එකතු කිරීමේ වරදක් නොදුටු සිංහල බෞද්ධ ගෝත්‍රික සමාජයම, දැන් පත්ව ඇත්තේ “ප්‍රභාකරන් අල්ලන්න ආමි එක මොන බම්බුවද කළේ; අපේ මහරජතුමා නොහිටින්න ආමි එකෙන් අල්ලයි උගෙ නැට්ට!” මානසිකත්වයටය. ඔවුනට අනුව ප්‍රභාකරන් හා සටන් වැදී ඇත්තේ අලිමංකඩ ස්ථානගත යුද භටයන් නොව පාමංකඩ සිට මෙහෙයුම් කටයුතු කළ පොලිතීසියන්ය. සරත් ෆොන්සේකාගේ නම භාවිතා කිරීමකින් තොරව, දුරදිග සිතා බලා හෝ නොබලා මහරජාණන් විසින් කරන ලද “ඊයේ දේශප්‍රේමියා හෙට දේශද්‍රෝහියකු විය හැකිය” යන ප්‍රකාශය මිලිටරි වන්දනාවේ මිනී පෙට්ටියට ගැසූ අවසාන ඇණය හා සැලකිය හැකිය. එක අතකට මෙය හාස්‍යජනක ප්‍රකාශයකි. ඒ මේ කතාව කියන්නේද, මීට මාස කිහිපයකට ඉහත, මේ රටේ සිටිය හැක්කේ දේශප්‍රේමීන් හා දේශද්‍රෝහීන් යනුවෙන් දෙකොටසක් පමණැයි කී මුවින්ම නිසාය. එසේ වීනම් දේශප්‍රේමියකු නොවන සරත් ෆොන්සේකා අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම දේශද්‍රෝහියෙකි. ඊට හෙට වන තුරු සිටිය යුතු නොවේ. ඔහු දේශද්‍රෝහියකු වන කළ ඔහු අණ ලබා ප්‍රභාකරන් හා සටනෙහි නියැළි හැම සොල්දාදුවකුම ඉබේම දේශද්‍රෝහියකු බවට පත්වේ. මෙය ත්‍රස්තවාදයට එරෙහි යුද්ධයට නොව එම යුද්ධයේම අතුරු ඵලයක් සේ ඇතිවූ දැවැන්ත මානව හිමිකම් කඩවීම් හා සිවිල් ඝාතන විරුද්ධවීම නිසා වර්ගවාදී රාජ්‍යතන්ත්‍රය අතින් හෝ එසේවත් නැතිව හුදෙක් සිංහල බෞද්ධ නොවීම නිසා නිස්කාරණයේ දේශද්‍රෝහී ලේබලය වැදුණු සියල්ලන්ගේ සැනසුමට හේතුවක් වන්නේ මිලිටරිය දේශද්‍රෝහීන් වනකල යුද්ධයට විරුද්ධවූ සියල්ලන් මහරජාණන්ගේ අර්ථ දැක්වීමට අනුව ඉබේම දේශප්‍රේමීන් වන නිසාය.

රාජපක්ෂ රෙජීමයේ මේ මත පෙරළිය මෙරට පොදු ජනතාව ආරෝපණය කර ගත යුතු නොවේ. යුද්ධයක් තිබුණා හෝ නැතා වේවා සිවිල් ජනතාව විසින් ආරක්ෂක හමුදාවට සැලකිය යුතු ආකාරයක් ඇත. යුද භටයෝද සමාජයේ අනෙක් කොටස් සේම සමාජයට අත්‍යාවශ්‍ය සේවාවක් කිරීමෙහි නියැළෙති. වෛද්‍යවරයා රොගීන් සුවපත් කිරීමෙන් සමාජයට සේවයක් කරන්නාක් සේම, කසළ ශෝධකයා අනුන්ගේ කසළ ඉවත් කිරීමෙන් පරිසරය වඩා යහපත් තැනක් බවට පත් කරන්නාක් සේම සොල්දාදුවාද සමාජයට ආරක්ෂාව සැපයීමෙන් මෙහෙයක් කරයි. ඔහු වැටුප් ලබන්නේ එනිසාය. කරන සේවය වෙනුවෙන් කසළ ශෝධකයා “අපෙන් එකෙකි මේ මිනිසා” කියා උඩ දමා ඔහුගේ සවළට පූජා පැවැත්විය යුතු නැතිවා සේම සොල්දාදුවාද කර උඩ තබා ගැනීමේ කිසිම අවශ්‍යතාවයක් නැත. ඒද අනෙකුන් සේම සාමාන්‍ය පුද්ගලයෙකි. සොල්දදුවාට අනෙකුන්ට නැති වල්ගයක් හෝ අං තට්ටුවක් නැත.

සොල්දාදුවා අනෙකුන් මෙන් නොව රැකියාවේදී තම ජීවිතය පරදුවට තියතැයිද, සමහරවිට එය අහිමි කර ගනිතැයිද, සදාකාලික ආබාධිත තත්වයකට පත්වනු ඇතැයිද මෙහිදී කෙනකු තර්ක කළ හැකිය. ඇත්ත. සැම වෘත්තියකමට පොදු රැකියා-මර (occupational hazards) යුද හමුදා වෘත්තියට විශේෂයෙන් අදාළය. යුද භටයකු රණ බිමේදී මිය යාමේ හෝ ආබාධිත වීමේ අවදානම වෛද්‍යවරයකුට රෝගියකුගෙන් H1N1 වෛරසය බිහිවීමේ අවදානමට හෝ ඉදිකිරීම් කම්කරුවකු උසෙකින් වැටී මිය යාමේ, ආබධිත තත්ත්වයට පත්වීමේ අවදානමට වඩා වැඩිය. යුද භටයන්ට අනෙක් කිසිම වෘත්තියකට නැති සුවිශේෂ වරප්‍රසාද ලබා දී ඇත්තේ එනිසාය.

අපොස සාමාන්‍යපෙළ සමතුන්ට අන් කිසිම සහතිකයක් නැතිව, තරග විභාග වලට පෙනී නොසිට, සරල පරීක්ෂණ කිහිපයකින් පසුව යුද සේවයට එක් විය හැකිය. එහිදී ඔවුන් පිහිටවනු ලබන ආරම්භක වැටුප් තලය එම අධ්‍යාපනික සුදුසුකම්ම ඇතිව රජයේ හෝ පුද්ගලික අංශයේ හිමි කර ගත හැකි අන් කවර හෝ රැකියාවක වැටුපකට වඩා වැඩිය. පුද්ගලික අංශයේ නම් අපොස සාමාන්‍යපෙළ යනු කාර්යාල කාර්ය සහායක හෝ පුහුණු සේවක පදවියකට වැඩි පදවියක් ලබා ගත නොහැකි සුදුසුකමකි. මේ වැටුපට අමතරව අන් කිසිදු රාජ්‍යසේවකයකු නොලබන විශේෂ වරප්‍රසාද වලට යුද භටයෝ හිමිකම් කියති. ආබාධිත තත්ත්වයට පත්වුවහොත් මිය යන තෙක් උසස් වීම් සමඟ විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් හිමිවේ. මියගියහොත් උසස්වීම් සමඟ එම වැටුප බිරියට හෝ දෙමාපියන්ට ලබා ගත හැකිය. මෙබඳු සුවිශෙෂ වරප්‍රසාද ඇත්තේ අන් කවර රැකියාවකද?

මීට අමතරව යුද්ධය පවත්වා ගැනීම වෙනුවෙන් පසුගිය සමයේ සමස්ත සමාජය විසින් යුද භටයින් වෙනුවෙන් කරන ලද කැපවීම අති විශාලය. අද රජයේ සේවකයින්ට වැඩි පඩි ඉල්ලා අරගල කිරීමට සිදුව ඇත්තේ යුද්ධය පවත්වා ගැනීම වෙනුවෙන් මුදල් අච්චු ගැසීම නිසා උද්ධමනය ඉහළ යාමෙන් ජීවන වියදම අත පොවන මානයෙන් ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති නිසාය. ජනප්‍රිය පාසලකට ළමුන් ඇතුළත් කිරීමේදී 20%ක් (සිසුන් 40 සිටින පන්තියකින් අට දෙනකු) යුද භටයින්ගේ දරුවන් සඳහා වෙන් කර ඇත. ඊට අන් කිසිම සුදුසුකමක් අවශ්‍ය නොවේ. මේ සියල්ල විවිධ නම් වලින්, විවිධ ව්‍යාපෘති යටතේ යුද හමුදා භටයින්ගේ පැවැත්ම වෙනුවෙන් මුදල් එකතු කර ගන්නවාට අමතරවය. අපි වෙනුවෙන් අපි නිවාස අරමුදලක් කියාද එකක් තිබේ. උන් වෙනුවෙන් බෝධි පූජා තියන්නට වැය කරන ලද කාලය ශ්‍රමය හා මුදල් අමතක කරමු.

එහෙයින් සොල්දාදුවා කරෙන් බිමට ඇද දමන්නට සිදුවීම කිසිසේත්ම කම්පාවට හේතුවක් නොවිය යුතුය. එය විය යුත්තකි. මෙයින් අදහස් කරන්නේ අද රාජපක්ෂ රෙජීමය කරන්නාක්සේ සමස්ත සමාජය විසින් සොල්දාදුවාගේ ඔළුවට ඉඳුල් වතුර හැලිය යුතු බව නොවේ. එහෙත් අන් හැම වෘත්තියකටම සේම මිලිටරියටද උරුම තැනක් ඇත. ඔවුන් සිටිය යුත්තේ එතැනය. මිලිටරිය සිවිල් සමාජය විසින් මල්පුදා හඳුන්කූරු අල්ලා දේවත්වයට පත්කොට පුද කිරීම සමාජයේ ඉදිරි ගමනට දරුණු බාධාවකි. සිවිල් සමාජය මිලිටරිය විසින් පාලනය නොකළ යුතුය. එහෙයින් කාරණා මෙසේ සිදුවීම ගැන අප සතුටු විය යුතුය. ඊට මඟ පෑදීම ගැන සරත් ෆොන්සේකාට අප ස්තූතිවන්ත විය යුතුය.

It’s too bad that when you hear people talk about politicians or companies, all talk is negative.  Society doesn’t expect any moral out of either group.  All remarks about these once highly ethical and moral people are now sour and to the lowest orders of life.

This SLUT Barbie, however, is less offensive.  The burka is a symbol of what women are forced to wear and the slut is wearing it because she CHOOSES to be a slut.  While I don’t agree with that either, at least it’s not forced oppression of women by men and the country that thinks it’s ok.

I think that Mattel should not be afforded any of my business after this and I hope that the rest of people in the US, especially after 9/11 and the FT HOOD shooting, would boycott this blasphemy.

Just because the designer is a woman doesn’t mean that it’s right.

Burka Barbie?

In her latest makeover, Barbie is dressed in a stylish vermilion head-to-toe burka with a mesh peep hole. She also shows off a similar lime burqa, as well as slightly less confining, traditional black hijab.

The latest from Mattel?

Well, sort of. It’s part of a 500-Barbie doll collection unveiled, as it were, Friday in Florence, Italy. The exhibition of international outfits modeled by the most famous anatomically incorrect doll, dressed by Italian designer Eliana Lorena, is going to be auctioned by Sotheby’s to raise funds for Save The Children.

The exhibition – and sale – are part of the 50th birthday “celebrations” of the doll that American Ruth Handler created in 1959.

But a “Muslim” Barbie is not a new idea. In fact, should Mattel decide to mass produce a Burka Barbie, she’ll have some competition.

Saudi Arabia outlawed Barbie in 2003, saying that the doll’s “revealing clothes and shameful postures, accessories, and tools are a symbol of decadence to the perverted West.”

More recently, in April 2008, Iranian prosecutor Ghorban Ali Dori Najafabadi warned in that Barbie dolls are “destructive culturally and a social danger.” He also singled out Batman, Spiderman, and Harry Potter toys as “putting at risk … our children.”

This threat of Western cultural invasion via dolls evokes sporadic warnings and crackdowns in Iran. Back in 2002, Iran tried to counter the popularity of Barbie with the introduction of Sara and Dara dolls. Their launch was accompanied by a crackdown by Iran’s morality police on the sale of Barbies in Tehran. But Sara and Dara didn’t sell well.

In 2003, a United Arab Emirates company, NewBoy, introduced Fulla, a dark eyed, more realistically proportioned doll with “Muslim values.”

Unlike Sara and Dara, Fulla found a market quickly. Within two years, 1.5 million Fulla dolls were sold across the Middle East. Since then, the Indonesian Muslim doll, Arrosa, has also sold well.

Fulla, dressed in a traditional Islamic headscarf and overdress, comes with her own pink felt prayer rug.

Some parents who would not want to buy Barbies for their daughters are choosing to give them Fullas instead.

Creators NewBoy Design Studio launched the doll in 2003 and sales have proved strong in the Middle East.

Fawaz Abidin, the Fulla brand manager, said: “You have to create a character that parents and children will want to relate to.

“She’s honest, loving and caring, and she respects her father and mother.”

Career woman

Fulla is still single and there are no plans for an Islamic equivalent to Ken, Barbie’s former boyfriend. However, a Doctor Fulla and Fulla as a teacher are planned – both respected careers for women.

Her extensive wardrobe has been modernised for the Egyptian market to include jeans and the type of colourful headscarves worn by many young women.

Tarek Mohammed, chief salesman at Toys’r'Us in Cairo, said: “Fulla sells better because she is closer to our Arab values – she never reveals a leg or an arm.”

The surge in sales of Muslim girls’ toys, including the veiled Fulla, comes amid new enthusiasm among Muslim women for wearing the veil.

Obama ‘Reaches Out’ by Naming ‘Devout’ Muslims to Security Posts

(IsraelNN.com) U.S. President Barack Obama continues to “reach out to Muslims” by appointing them to key security posts amid charges he wrongly ignored internal Muslim terror. One recent appointee was harshly criticized for appearing on a British-based television station whose host is a member of a radical Muslim group.

His “reaching out Muslims” speech in Cairo last June has been followed by action, the latest being this past week’s swearing-in of a Muslim rights advocate to the Homeland Security Advisory Council, shortly after the Fort Hood massacre. HSAC members are involved in expertise on national security.

The new member is Syrian-born Kareem Shora, who was the national executive director of the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination (ADC), which previously has called on the United States to stop providing Israel with weapons because of alleged “atrocities” against Arabs. Her background for her new security post is having been a legal counsel and advocate for Muslim civil rights.

She also has been a frequent guest on the pro-Hamas al-Jazeera satellite network.

Shora, who has been described as a “devout Muslim, joins another devout member of the faith, Arif Alikhan, who was appointed as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development in the Department of Homeland Security. His qualifications for the job were listed as having been in charge of public safety in Los Angeles during his term of deputy mayor. One of his actions was to remove the plan that tracked Muslims in the city who were suspected of terrorist activities.

Americans have been jolted by several lethal attacks and confrontations with Muslims over the past year, including a plot to attack synagogues and down U.S. military aircraft, the manufacture of bombs, an alleged attempt to explode a Texas skyscraper, a plot to blow up malls in Boston, and last month’s Fort Hood massacre by a Muslim psychiatrist who was an officer in the army.

A desire to avoid the appearance of labeling all Muslims as terrorists lunged out from the shadows last month after President Obama faced criticism for not taking seriously the threat of Muslim terrorism within American society as well as in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Several months ago, President Obama appointed Dalia Mogahed, a “devout Muslim,” to his Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. She quickly came under fire for appearing in a telephone interview on a London-based Muslim television station, whose host is a member of an extreme Islamic group.

She said was unaware of the affiliations of her host, whose program included questions and comments favoring the implementation of Islamic Law (“sharia”).

Mogahed explained that she did not hang up the phone in the middle of the interview because “I assumed that very few people would watch this show but that doing something more dramatic would bring more attention.”

In the current issue of Newsweek, columnist Jacob Weisberg, citing former Secretary of State Colin Powell, wrote that “Obama’s [Muslim] heritage feeds a broader suspicion that he is too casual about the threat from America’s Islamist enemies.”

The journalist added, “With the massacre in Texas, Obama now confronts something that George W. Bush did not face in the years after September 11—not just a major act of domestic terrorism, but one struck from inside our security apparatus…. America does not face a threat from the perversion of faith in general. We face a threat from the perversion of one faith in particular.”

By all appearances, judgment seems to be heading for the United States of America.  As a watchman giving warning, I am urging everyone who is reading this to please follow the Lord’s Word from Isaiah chapter 55 verses 6-7 which is as follows:

Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

May we all take heed to this warning while we still have the chance, because a time is coming when we will not.

You read that right.  Nidal Hasan was on the Homeland Security Policy Institute Presidential Transition Task Force.  An adviser on the Obama transition team.

Obama won’t jump to conclusions about a fellow muslim who guns down 13 people while screaming “allah akbar,” but he will immediately jump to conclusions about a white cop PROPERLY doing his job investigating what appeared to be a break in at the home of one of Obama’s race-baiting buddies.

Why hasn’t anyone covered this?  Where is CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Chicago Sun Times, and all of the other liberal rags on a story like this?

Questions Regarding The Fort Hood Massacre

By now, virtually everyone has read and reread the copious news accounts of
the terrible shooting a few weeks ago at Fort Hood, Texas. This column will
not attempt to add new details to what is already a highly scrutinized
tragedy. However, I do want to pose three basic questions that, to me, are
extremely glaring and, for the most part, absent from the discussion.

Question 1: Why were the soldiers not armed?

After all, this is a military base; more than that, it is an Army base that
emphasizes the training and equipping of frontline, combat-ready soldiers.
For the most part, these were not clerks or cooks; these were combat troops.
Fort Hood is home to the 1st Cavalry Division (the largest Division in the
Army). Troops stationed at Fort Hood have engaged the enemy in virtually
every hot theater of war to which American forces have been deployed. In
recent conflicts that means Somalia, Bosnia, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
Without a doubt, these are among America’s bravest and best.

So, how is it that these intensely trained, disciplined, rugged, highly
qualified warriors are not allowed to carry their own weapons on base? This
makes about as much sense as the policy forbidding airline pilots from
carrying their own handguns on board commercial airliners, or teachers not
being allowed to carry their own handguns in the classroom. After all,
judges are granted the authority to carry their own firearms into the
courtroom. If we can trust lawyers, we should be able to trust soldiers,
airline pilots, and teachers.

Question 2:  If the federal government–including the Department of Homeland
Security, the Department of Defense, etc., with billions of dollars worth of
technology; tens of thousands of snoops, spooks, and intelligence gatherers;
and myriad Patriot Act-type laws–could not protect US soldiers on one of
the most tightly secured and heavily guarded military installations in
America, how can anyone in the country possibly not break out in cacophonous
laughter when politicians tell us we need to surrender more liberties so
that they might pass more laws to protect us crummy little peons? Or is it
that, because Hasan was a Muslim, the politically correct nincompoops in
charge gave him a pass?

Consider: we have learned that the shooter, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, had
attempted to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda; that
numerous classmates of Hasan had reported his anti-American views, which,
according to a column written by Dennis Prager, “included his giving a
presentation that justified suicide bombing and telling classmates that
Islamic law trumped the U.S. Constitution”; and that Hasan had a long
history of pro-Islamic, anti-American activity. All of which begs an answer
to the question, How could such an individual not only be allowed in the US
military, but also be allowed to advance to the rank of Major?

I think most of my readers have the answer to this question figured out: we
have an out-of-control, politically correct federal government that only
senses danger from conservatives, libertarians, Christians, pro-lifers, Tea
Party protesters, and anti-UN, anti-IRS, pro-Second Amendment activists–and
supporters of Ron Paul and Chuck Baldwin, of course. To this politically
correct federal leviathan today, anti-American jihadists, militant Black
Panthers, or illegal aliens who have committed felonious crimes in Mexico
pose no risk to anyone, and must be “understood.”

As Prager quotes NPR’s Tom Gjelten: since Hasan had never been in combat, he
must have suffered from “pre-traumatic stress disorder.” No, I’m not
kidding. That’s what he said. (I’ll pause while you pick yourself up off the
floor from laughing.)

To the politically correct crowd running things in Washington, D.C., anyone
coming from a socialistic, Big Government, or anti-American point of view is
harmless, and anyone coming from a conservative, Christian, constitutional,
or pro-American point of view is dangerous. Can one imagine how the
mainstream media, federal police agencies, and the Southern Poverty Law
Center would have reacted had Hasan shouted “Jesus is greatest!” instead of
what he really said, “Allah is greatest!” right before opening fire?

If one rejects the notion that political correctness favoring Muslims (and
every other minority in the United States) had anything to do with the Fort
Hood shooting, then we are back to the original question: If the federal
government–including the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of
Defense, etc., with billions of dollars worth of technology; tens of
thousands of snoops, spooks, and intelligence gatherers; and myriad Patriot
Act-type laws–could not protect US soldiers on one of the most tightly
secured and heavily guarded military installations in America, how can
anyone in the country possibly not break out in cacophonous laughter when
politicians tell us we need to surrender more liberties so that they might
pass more laws to protect us crummy little peons?

Are we now really supposed to believe that all these Patriot Act-type laws,
which allow the federal government to trash the Constitution and Bill of
Rights–and poke its ubiquitous and meddlesome nose into every corner and
crevice of our lives–are actually doing anything to make us safer? You’ve
got to be kidding! The only thing they are doing is stealing our liberties.
If the Fort Hood massacre proves anything, it proves that.

Question 3: How could one man (with no combat experience) armed with only
two handguns fire over 100 rounds (demanding he reload at least 3 times)
into a crowd of scores and hundreds of fearless combat-trained warriors? I
must confess: this is the question that bothers me the most.

According to the official story, Hasan was the only shooter, and he was
allowed to fire at will into a crowd of America’s finest warriors for at
least 4 minutes, reloading at least 3 times, firing over 100 rounds of
ammunition, killing 13 people, and wounding over 30–and was finally taken
out by civilian police officers AFTER EXITING THE BUILDING. I’ve got to tell
you: I cannot get my brain around this one.

Again, these soldiers are warriors. They not only know how to fight, they
know how to fight unarmed. They are trained to risk their lives. They are
trained to do whatever is necessary to take out the enemy. Had even a small
group of soldiers rushed the shooter (especially if they came at him from
multiple directions) there is no way that Hasan would not have been
subdued–and most likely killed. Yes, a few of the on-rushers would have
been hit, but Hasan could not have gotten them all. That is a fact! And yet,
we are supposed to believe that Hasan was not only unmolested by soldiers
inside the building, but he was allowed to leave the building entirely, and
then get shot by civilian policemen? Again, this explanation makes
absolutely no sense to me. None.

Initial reports said there were multiple shooters. If that was the case, the
scenario is much more plausible. If multiple shooters had opened fire from
various vantage points–especially if they had rifles–it would have made
unarmed resistance extremely difficult. That scenario would make sense. The
“one shooter with two handguns” explanation makes no sense.

I realize that no unarmed man wants to rush an armed attacker. Of course,
some who would do so would probably die, but again, these are trained
warriors. Furthermore, this was an all-or-nothing, kill-or-be-killed
environment: something these men are trained for. If untrained civilian
passengers on flight 93 on 9/11 could rush and thwart armed attackers on
board a commercial airliner from a narrow aisle way and stop a hijacking–a
task infinitely more difficult than for a group of highly trained
professional soldiers outnumbering an attacker by scores or hundreds in a
large building–tell me again how Hasan was able to open fire with only two
handguns, kill and wound scores of people, and calmly walk out of the
building unscathed? Again, this makes no sense.

Of course, all of the above is predicated upon the public accounts of the
events being a truthful representation of what actually occurred. Which,
after trying to comprehend the plausibility of what we are being told, is
becoming increasingly difficult to believe. But then again, I haven’t
believed much that the federal government or major news media has told me
since John F. Kennedy was assassinated. And I must say, this story serves
only to further fuel my skepticism.

“In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans … have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging,” he laments. “I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

That is what Barack Obama wrote in his book, “Audacity.”

Now you can be sure that when Obama is in the White House, something “ugly” will occur to offend the nation’s “Arab and Pakistani Americans”—in other words, Muslims.

So whose side will Obama then take?

He will side with the Muslims per his own public statement in his book. There is no question. It is right there.

That is not the closet Muslim which he’s been. That’s the out-in-the-open Muslim hinted about even present-tense.

“I will stand with them. . .”

That is why he stands with them in the pro-Islam sanctuary called Trinity United Church of Christ. That’s why Obama embraces Jeremiah Wright’s pro-Muslim crowning of Nation of Islam Louis Farrakhan.

That’s why Obama, with his Muslim childhood schooling, endorses the mosque-cleric-like angry yelling of Wright’s pulpit delivery.

That’s why Obama states in “Audacity” that Judeo-Christian heritage will recede as an all-religions country emerges. Obviously, from his siding with Muslims, Muslims in particular will have the upper hand in the new America.

It is scary to read just that one paragraph in his book about siding with the Muslims if matters turn “ugly.”

One can be certain that Muslims reading that paragraph will see to it that some offense will strike their sensitivities once The Boy sits in the Oval Office. Their squeals will trigger their discontent thereby triggering Obama the Muslim to spring forth.

Muslim Obama has already given us warning in his book. If we are too stupid to get it, then we are going to suffer the consequences of not being informed.

The Correct way to Arrest a Terrorist.

You know the band U2 and their album “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb”

Well I made a copy of it like two days back and wrote the name of the album on the disc.

and the very next day, while having lunch, I hear this shriek, so I run to the room and its my grandma

and she’s like “wht is this!?!?”

So yeah, in less than a minute, a copy of a cd is all you need to make your sweet grandma think your a terrorist.

Poor poor Major was worried about HIV.   I wonder why??  Oh wait,   cuz he hung around a strip club??  Or as the article stated,  he was afraid of a needlestick??!!!  That is totally outrageous.  I can’t think of many psychiatrists  that perform phlebotomy.   That is a huge stretch.   He had a bunch of HIV medicine in his apartment.

So, the man was afraid of his HIV test the week before he massacred all those people.

And he is now paralyzed from the waist down.

Somehow I just can’t muster up much feeling for this terrorist.

Many many people dropped the ball in this case.  One of them was this woman Lieutenant Colonel Melanie Guerrero.  Imagine saying that in the world,  outside of the military.  “He would not be doing any real patient care”!!!!   No real patient care???????   What does she think dealing with the soldiers who are going to and coming home from the war zones.

This is absolutely beyond the pale.  It is positively outrageous and I hope some of these people are made accountable for their actions in this case.

Major Nidal Hasan seemed worried about the results of an HIV blood test taken a week before the Fort Hood shooting rampage, according to federal investigators piecing together background details on Hasan’s life.

The information came from a member of the Fort Hood medical staff who was in the building where Hasan is accused of opening fire on November 5 and killing 13 people.

The investigators said there was no indication that Hasan was HIV positive, although a bottle of medicine used to treat HIV-positive individuals, Combivir, was seen in Hasan’s apartment by ABC News last week. Medical experts say many doctors also have Combivir on hand in case of an accidental needle stick. A second drug seen in the apartment, clarithromycin, is an antibiotic designed to treat respiratory infections. However, it can also be used to treat specific opportunistic infections in patients with HIV.

Hasan, who is not married, was a regular at a Killeen, Texas strip club which features nude dancers, according to employees there.

Investigators also found that Hasan donated $20,000 to $30,000 a year to overseas Islamic “charities.” As an Army major, his yearly salary, including housing and food allowances, was approximately $92,000. A number of Islamic charities have been identified by U.S. authorities as conduits to terror groups.

Investigators said Hasan followed his own strict interpretation of how a Muslim should live — including driving without auto insurance or signing up for life insurance provided through the military.

 

His academic record is replete with serious concerns about his religious statements and his academic abilities, the investigators found.

One of Hasan’s commanding officers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Lieutenant Colonel Melanie Guerrero, told investigators she had considered failing him as an intern but “decided to allow him to pass since he was going into psychiatry and would not be doing any real patient care.”

Guerrero told ABC News his performance problems stemmed from his lack of competence in the intensive care unit, including problems with recommending the proper medications or coming up with the right kind of patient treatment plan.

BBC News:  A father and son were arrested in northern Italy on suspicion of providing logistical and material support to the Mumbai terrorists.

“They are accused of supplying cash from their money transfer agency to pay for an internet phone account used by people in contact with the attackers” who killed upwards of 170 people a year ago.

Last Tuesday, Obama ordered his National Security Council (NSC) take control of congressional briefings on the Fort Hood killings, beginning the whitewash of the first terror attack on the American homeland in eight years.  Now, the Telegraph (UK) is reporting that Obama’s Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, has appointed a special board to investigate the mass shooting of US soldiers at Fort Hood by a US Army Major two weeks ago.  But look more closely at the details.

The investigation is to be led by two retired senior officials, both Bill Clinton appointees, who made pushing “affirmative action” and special status for minority groups in the US military a central part of their careers.  With former Army Secretary Togo West and former Navy Chief of Operations Admiral Vernon Clark at the helm of this investigation, no one should expect any critical comment about the policies that allowed the career of an extremist Muslim to flourish in the US military.

Togo West served as an army lawyer from 1969 to 1973 and then entered the world of politically connected Washington lawyers who spend the rest of their careers in and out of Democratic Party administrations.  He was appointed to as the Navy’s General Counsel under President Carter and then as Assistant to the Defense Secretary under Carter.  When the Democrats came back into power in 1993 he was appointed as Secretary of the Army by Bill Clinton and served in that post until his appointment as Secretary for Veteran’s Affairs in 1997.

Togo West never saw an affirmative action policy or minority preference policy he didn’t like.  For decades the US military has been subject to yearly political indoctrination in the form of special training to prevent the “harassment” of minorities.  Mostly, this means that soldiers are subjected to training teams that present courses describing how deeply racist US white people are.  Any joke, look, friendly comment, or official action made by a white person to a protected minority group member can and should be treated as a racist action that merits official complaint.

OK, I am exaggerating — but only a bit.  Under West’s tenure as Secretary of the Army, the briefings and classes really were a lot like this, and West encouraged an atmosphere in the US Army in which even the silliest and most insignificant complaints by soldiers belonging to minority groups immediately got the attention of top officers.  The attitude was “guilty until proven innocent” if a minority group soldier made a complaint about a superior.  Naturally, a reluctance to criticize the performance of a minority group soldier became an entrenched part of the US military culture.

Admiral Clark was a staunch supporter of special minority group programs as senior officer of the US Navy (chief of naval operations) from 2000 to 2005.  Clark was eager to increase the representation of minority groups in the US Navy and in 2005 he directed that the Navy increase the number of minority candidates for officer commissions by 25 per cent.

This led to a double standard program at places like the Naval Academy at Annapolis, where the entry standards for minorities are noticeably lower than for white applicants.  Clark was such an enthusiast for “diversity” in the Navy that in 2005 he redefined the Navy’s concept of special minorities to include religious (read Muslim) and ethnic groups as well.

At the core of the mass murder at Fort Hood Texas is the question of how the decades-old policies of the US Defense Department that have lowered standards in the name of “affirmative action” and “diversity” may have contributed to the retention of a clearly unfit officer and put him in the position to kill 13 American soldiers and wound another 28.  For Togo West or Vernon Clark to question such policies (which were largely of their own making) would indicate a degree of intellectual openness and apolitical judgment that they have never exhibited before.  So my bet is a complete gloss over the real questions at stake.

Gates will certainly earn Obama’s approval for appointing as senior investigators two retirees who can be assured not to question the Obama Party Line.  But there are the families of a few dozen dead and wounded soldiers involved here, and many have congressmen and senators who will detect the slightest hint of a whitewash.  I predict that the Defense Department’s investigation will be yet another major blunder by the Obama administration.

A German’s View on Islam

A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism. ‘Very few people were true Nazis,’ he said, ‘but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories…’

We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.

The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.

The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the ’silent majority,’ is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.

And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points:

Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.

Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts — the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand. So, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on! Let us hope that thousands, world-wide, read this and think about it, and send it on – before it’s too late.

So why is Attorney General Eric Holder doing this? Ostensibly, to demonstrate to the world the superiority of our system where the rule of law and the fair trial reign.

Really? What happens if KSM (and his co-defendants) “do not get convicted,” asked Senate Judiciary Committee member Herb Kohl. “Failure is not an option,” replied Holder. Not an option? Doesn’t the presumption of innocence, er, presume that prosecutorial failure — acquittal, hung jury — is an option? By undermining that presumption, Holder is undermining the fairness of the trial, the demonstration of which is the alleged rationale for putting on this show in the first place

I came upon this website that shows all the relationships between different organizations that are Muslim.  Some would say faith based and I would agree, but I don’t think that fully describes Islam (submission) or the faith that the Muslim (he who submits to Islam) must adhere to.  Islam encompasses much more than only ones faith.  Islam requires that the believer is fully living the ideals of Islam.  All laws must conform or they are deemed illegitimate.  These views must be the same in every life aspect.  That also means that a Muslim is required to do business with Muslims whenever possible.

and the balance” in our relationship with others.

- The U.S. society’s view of Islam and Muslims … And many other studies which we can direct

our brothers and allies to prepare, either through their academic studies or through their

educational centers or organizational tasking. What is important is that we start.

12- Agreeing on a flexible, balanced and a clear “mechanism” to implement the process of

settlement within a specific, gradual and balanced “time frame” that is in-line with the demands

and challenges of the process of settlement.

13- Understanding the U.S. society from its different aspects an understanding that “qualifies” us

to perform the mission of settling our Dawa’ in its country “and growing it” on its land.

14- Adopting a written “jurisprudence” that includes legal and movement bases, principles,

policies and interpretations which are suitable for the needs and challenges of the process of

settlement.

15- Agreeing on “criteria” and balances to be a sort of “antennas” or “the watch tower” in order to

make sure that all of our priorities, plans, programs, bodies, leadership, monies and activities

march towards the process of the settlement.

16- Adopting a practical, flexible formula through which our central work complements our

domestic work.

Okay, so in the instance I am about to refer to it wasn’t an actual terrorist, at least not one who has performed an attack himself, but simply an Islamic extremist who could arguably be the inspiration for Major Nidal Hasan’s attack on the Fort Hood army base. In all of the recent articles that I have read about Hasan, it seems that the evidence may point to some type of religious motivation originating from Islamic sources, but I am not going to make a conclusive claim about that yet.

What I am getting at is the extremist that he was in contact with prior to the Fort Hood incident, Anwar al-Awlaki. al-Awlaki was a cleric at the mosque that Hasan worshipped at in Virginia, and has since moved to Yemen. This is a man who regularly preaches jihad on America and runs a web site to promote his cause. The reason I am writing this post is a single sentence from the November 14 edition of The Economist.

It said, “In a blog after the attacks, Mr al-Awlaki called Major Hasan a hero.”

This struck me as funny that even the Islamic extremists have adapted to the new media environment and use the power of the internet to get their message heard. We tend to have this picture of Islam in our head of a tall, dark man in a Middle Eastern desert living in a cave and having the technology of an early hominid. This is obviously no longer true, if it ever was. As we can see, it is not even the simple videos that Osama bin Laden would record and send for the U.S. to see, they have moved beyond that.

Hasan may or may not have been religiously motivated, that is not at issue here. But al-Awlaki is what is of interest. People have causes, both rational and irrational, and they will use the necessary tools to get their voice heard. The internet is currently the best option available for that. One can get thousands of hits per day on a blog or web site. It is an excellent tool and even those who we don’t want to use it to their advantage have figured out how they can promote themselves in a more effective manner.

In last Tuesday’s edition of The Scroll, Brigham Young University Idaho’s student newspaper, there was a letter to the editor which challenged the bookstore’s love affair with Glenn Beck.  The argument made by the author was that the bookstore’s promotion of Beck violated the school’s overly militant stance on political neutrality, which is rooted in avoiding all partisan contention.  The student requested that books by liberal authors get the same representation in the bookstore as those written by radical right wing authors.

Although I agree with the sentiment shared by this student, I have a bit of a different stance.  I believe Glenn Beck should be banned from BYU-I’s bookstore.  It is obvious that Glenn Beck’s career is creating contention.  Beck achieves this by acting in an unchristian manner which goes against the mission of BYU-I.

BYU-I’s learning model is centered on Jesus Christ, an attempt to welcome the spirit on campus.  The school strives for this through their honor code which is by far the most comprehensive and strict of all four of the LDS colleges.  That being said, why in the world would such an institution promote the contentious figure of Glenn Beck?  Below is a short list of the un-christian rhetoric which Beck propogates.

• November 14, 2006 - Beck asks the first ever Muslim congressman to prove that he is not working for the enemy.
• August 10, 2006 - In alarmist style, threatens Muslims who have “sat on [their] frickin’ hands” and have not been opposing “bad muslims” with internment camps.
• August 15, 2006 – Mocks Muslim heritage by stating Wal-Mart theifs were “[t]hree guys with names I could never pronounce, basically Mohammed, Mustafa, Abdul, something like that.”
• March 20, 2006 - “Are we this stupid, are we as dumb as Nigeria?”
• April 6, 2006 - The indians “have found something that can be more profitable than casinos, and that’s abortion clinics.” Also, shows cultural insensitivity toward the history of Native Americans.
• July 28, 2009 - Beck calls President Obama a racist.  Resulting in the loss of approximately 80 advertisers.
• October 16, 2009 – Compares Fox New’s “persecution” from the White House to Jewish Holocaust victims.
• November 12, 2009 - While discussing protecting oneself against a government conspiracy on gold prices, Beck states that we need to think like a “German Jew in 1934.” 
• November 16, 2009 – Beck uses a disgusting analogy which places the opponents of Health Care reform as Roman Polanski’s 14 year old rape victim screaming “no, no, help me.”
• November 19, 2009 - Beck states that the “people in New York” are being “raped by” their “government.”

After seeing the divisive nature of Beck’s speech, can one sincerely believe that this is the sort of message we want associated with our “Temples of Learning” here at the “Disciple Training Center.”  This is not a matter of political correctness, it is a matter of religious adherence.

CAIR is a large organization with far reaching ties to some very nasty groups.

The governments inability to identify a threat continues and the saga has just begun.

Nidal Hasan is fresh, but if we don’t choose to open (wrench open) the eyes of our leaders and call them out when they refuse, then Nidal’s fate will go away in to the forgotten anals of history.  The purposefully forgoten.

‘Moderate’ terror pals

The Justice Department has named CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terror-finance case in US history — the Holy Land Foundation trial, which ended last year with convictions on all 108 counts. And the FBI last year cut off formal ties to CAIR and its national leaders as well as all 30 branch offices across the country.

That the FBI maintained formal relations with CAIR for years is itself a scandal — but at least the bureau, unlike other federal officials, has seen the light. Sen. Chuck Schumer is demanding the FBI’s anti-CAIR ban “be government-wide policy.”

The media elite are now expressing shock that the military and government officials turned a blind eye to Hasan and his extremist connections. The real shock is that this elite continues to legitimize a group that has similar ties.
