O Primeiro trabalho é o meu próprio, que juntamente ao meu grupo, levantamos questões sobre Just In Time, Kaizen e a biografia de Shigeo Shingo. <title><![CDATA[Intersex Australians Classified Under 'Sexual Deviant']]></title>

<description><![CDATA[Anti-androgens are drugs that restrict the release of hormones &#8211; primarily testosterone ]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Anti-androgens are drugs that restrict the release of hormones &#8211; primarily testosterone &#8211; in the body. They can be used as a treatment for prostate cancer, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), acne and male pattern baldness. They also work to suppress the male libido/sexual drive and as such is used to &#8216;treat&#8217; sex offenders. Additionally, <a href="http://www.gendercentre.org.au/80article3.htm">intersex</a> people that identify as female might take anti-androgen medication to help with hormone imbalances and some trans women (that are transitioning medically, sometimes in the lead up to surgery) will take it to suppress testosterone so that introduced estrogen can work more effectively on their body.</p>
<p>In Australia the main/only anti androgens I could find available are <a href="http://www.pbs.gov.au/html/consumer/product/restrictions?publication=GE&#38;code=1270W&#38;brand=Cyprone">Cyprone</a>, <a href="http://www.pbs.gov.au/html/consumer/product/restrictions?publication=GE&#38;code=1270W&#38;brand=Cyprostat">Cyprostat</a>, <a href="http://www.pbs.gov.au/html/consumer/product/restrictions?publication=GE&#38;code=1270W&#38;brand=GenRx%20Cyproterone%20Acetate">Cyproterone Acetate</a> (the generic name), <a href="http://www.pbs.gov.au/html/consumer/product/restrictions?publication=GE&#38;code=1270W&#38;brand=Procur"> Procur</a>, <a href="http://www.pbs.gov.au/html/consumer/product/restrictions?publication=GE&#38;code=8019C&#38;brand=Cyprohexal"> Cyprohexal</a> and <a href="http://www.pbs.gov.au/html/consumer/product/restrictions?publication=GE&#38;code=8019C&#38;brand=Androcur-100">Androcur</a>. If you follow any of those drug links you&#8217;ll see they can only be prescribed for:</p>
<blockquote><p>1014    Advanced carcinoma of the prostate;<br />
1404    To reduce drive in sexual deviations in males.</p></blockquote>
<p>You have to fit in to one of these two categories to get the drug. So, unless you have pretty much incurable prostate cancer, if you need an anti-androgen in Australia &#8211; and can&#8217;t afford a non-subsidised prescription &#8211; your doctor has probably had to get a little inventive with the prescription and <a href="http://www.hreoc.gov.au/genderdiversity/consultation_report2008.html#6">classify you as a &#8217;sexual deviant&#8217;</a>. What&#8217;s in a label, right? Well, if you are classified as a &#8217;sexual deviant&#8217; and prescribed this medication then the Therapeutic Goods Administration will put you on their list of possible sex offenders. That&#8217;s right. In Australia we like to classify intersex and trans women as possible sex offenders. It can&#8217;t just be argued away as a bureaucratic list. It&#8217;s dehumanising for people who already have enough trouble being treated as human beings.</p>
<p>And, seriously, who knows how the TGA information is being shared or with who. Does Centrelink? The DOCS? Next time we have another sex-offenders-not-in-our-neighbourhood panic are we going to start pulling TGA files and combining them with the various state sex offender lists?</p>
<p>Credit where credit it due, first heard about this <a href="http://oiiaustralia.com/intersex-australians-sex-offenders-register/">here</a>.</p>
<p><strong>UPDATE. It seems you <em>can</em> access the medication under:</p>
<blockquote><p>1230    Moderate to severe androgenisation in non-pregnant women (acne alone is not a sufficient indication of androgenisation).</p></blockquote>
<p>As seen <a href="http://www.pbs.gov.au/html/consumer/search/results?term=cyprohexal&#38;scope=PBS%20STATIC%20WEB%20NEWS&#38;form-type=simple&#38;page=2">here</a>. (Click on the &#8216;conditions for prescribing&#8217; link.) I apologise for having not seen or mentioned this before. There are still worries though. If the previously reported isn&#8217;t the case why are intersex and trans women being lead to believe it is true? Why are their doctors not aware they don&#8217;t need to be classified as sexual deviants? As <a href="http://hoydenabouttown.com/20091018.6873/quick-hit-want-androcur-join-the-sex-offender-registry/">Wildly Parenthetical</a> says:</p>
<blockquote><p>I have, however, heard of at least two trans or intersex people who were advised that they would be placed on a sex offender registry if they were prescribed the drug under the PBS, which raises the question of what role physicians play in a potentially scaremongering style of gatekeeping.</p></blockquote>

<title><![CDATA[Creaci&oacute;n de un disfraz en Photoshop para second life]]></title>

No se si se han enterado, que volverán a hacer dentro de un tiempito, la película de The Wonder Woman y al parecer será protagonizada por Byonce. Como la noticia me recordó la fascinación que sentía de pequeña por esta heroína, se me ocurrió ¿por qué no hacerme el disfraz?, ya que una de las cosas que más me gusta de Second Life es eso precisamente, que uno puede andar disfrazada, sin que te digan ridícula, jaja. XD</p>
<p>Las cosas que necesitaremos para realizar nuestro disfraz (que dicho sea de paso, el método inicial, siempre puede servir para la creación de cualquier prenda )será:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Photoshop (Cualquier versión) </strong></li>
<li><strong>Plantillas  o Templates (Avatar UV Templates) </strong>yo utilicé las de Robin Wood, y las encuentras aquí: <a title="http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/AVUVTemplates.html" href="http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/AVUVTemplates.html">http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/AVUVTemplates.html</a></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>* Una vez que descargan las templates (tienen que bajarse las Layered Photoshop .psd files, que es la que sirve para PS.(Photoshop)), deben abrirla en una carpeta que les quede cómoda,ya que vienen comprimidas).Pueden bajarlas todas, la de cabeza, piernas, top, falda o la que dice all(todos) o solo las 2 que necesitaremos, eso a gusto de ustedes.</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Texturas</strong>: dorada, roja y azul con estrellas que hayamos hecho antes en Photoshop o conseguido por ahí.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Creando el short</span></em></strong></p>
<p>Bueno, aquí no me he esmerado gran cosa, simplemente, lo hice dentro mismo de SL, en el menú APARIENCIA/ CREAR PANTALÓN NUEVO/ y le dí las medidas de un short. En la parte dónde permite poner la textura o tela, puse una textura con fondo azul y estrellas que tenía ahí. (Si tienen muchas ganas de usar el Photoshop las 3 texturas, las pueden hacer ustedes mismas y sino, las consiguen, como hice yo.) y le dí a guardar, renombré la prenda y listo</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><em>Creando el top: </em></span></strong></p>
<p>Ahora sí, abrimos nuestro Photoshop y comenzaremos a subir lo q necesitamos. Un documento con cada <strong>textura (la roja y la dorada)</strong>. y el abriremos el documento de la template, que se llamará: SL Avatar Top Layers. Veremos que la template está en tamaño de 1024px, pero le bajaremos la resolución a 512. Para eso vamos a IMÁGEN/TAMAÑO DE LA IMÁGEN y se abrirá un menú como este: <a href="http://zoe09.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/template-corpino-1.jpg"><img style="border-right:0;border-top:0;border-left:0;border-bottom:0;" src="http://zoe09.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/template-corpino-1_thumb.jpg?w=435&#038;h=281" alt="Template corpiño (1)" width="435" height="281" /></a></p>
<p>Una vez rebajada la resolución, nos quedará de tamaño pequeño, la imágen y para no volvernos chinos, con la vista, le daremos al zoom, para acercarla a un tamaño prudente. A continuación procederemos a crear dos capas, en el menú CAPAS de nuestro Photoshop. (a una la llamaremos TOP y a la otra DORADOS).</p>

<p>Ahora, iremos a nuestro documento que abrimos antes,(con la textura roja), y seleccionaremos toda la textura, con la herramienta VARITA MÁGICA/HERRAMIENTA SELECCIÓN RÁPIDA. y seleccionamos toda nuestra textura roja. Iremos luego arriba a EDICIÓN/ COPIAR, y volveremos al documento de la template.</p>
<p>Tomamos la herramienta, LAZO POLIGONAL y vamos marcando FUERA del contorno, primero de la parte delantera de nuestro top, cuando veamos que hemos cerrado la forma, que se han unido todos los puntos, empezará a &#8220;titilar&#8221;, ese es momento de ir a EDICIÓN/ PEGAR DENTRO y automáticamente, se rellenará el dibujo con la textura. Repetimos exactamente, la misma operación con la parte trasera del top y luego seleccionaremos la capa DORADOS.  La parte roja del top, debería quedar así:</p>

<p>miren bien la selección que yo hice, es preferible que les sobre textura hacia afuera y no que les falte, porque de este modo, taparán bien la piel del avatar y no quedarán líneas o sitios blancos, cuando hagan el top en SL.</p>

<p>Ahora, como dije antes, procederemos con la capa llamada DORADOS.Seleccionaremos la textura dorada, del mismo modo que hicimos con la roja.Volvemos al documento de la template, seleccionamos esta capa DORADOS y regresamos a tomar la herramienta LAZO POLIGONAL (o en su defecto, si quieren y desean hacer un dibujo menos geométrico y mas redondeado, la herramienta LAZO MAGNÉTICO.) e iremos dibujando los detalles dorados que tiene el top de WW. Con esta misma herramienta, sin soltar el trazo, vamos haciendo el dibujo, cuando titile, EDICIÓN/PEGAR DENTRO y se nos irá pintando el dibujo que le hemos hecho. Repetimos del lado trasero del top, este procedimiento y debería quedarnos algo como esto:</p>

<p>Bueno, como verán yo no soy dibujante y he hecho lo que pude XD .Seguramente, ustedes crearán trabajos mejores.</p>
<p>Bueno, nuestro top, está hecho, solo falta algo más. Iremos (a el menú de las capas) quitando el globito ocular u &#8220;ojito&#8221; y ocultando a TODAS MENOS: TOP Y DORADOS , de esta forma nos aseguramos, que cuando vayamos a usar en SL, solo nos quede el top y no las &#8220;rayas&#8221; que vemos ahora debajo.En el menú mismo CAPAS, seleccionamos el ícono AÑADIR UNA MÁSCARA (un rectángulo con un círculo en el medio) y llevamos a guardar en formato TARGA (.TGA).Le ponemos un nombre y cuando nos dé la opción : OPCIONES DE TARGA, le pondremos 32 bits/píxel. Y Terminado, a subirlo a SL.</p>
<p>Así se verá nuestra imágen subida a Second Life, este es le paso previo y la previsualización, dónde si la prenda tiene algún defecto, aún estamos a tiempo de cambiarla, y no gastar los L$.</p>

<p>Incluso, veremos que podemos rotar la imágen y ver si se vé bien de todos lados. Una vez, que le dimos ok, se guardará en el inventario en la carpeta de TEXTURAS. Para transformarla en nuestro top, vamos a el menú apariencia del avatar, crear nueva camiseta y le damos las medidas de un top, luego, solo trasladamos la textura, desde nuestro inventario a la casilla TELA. Guardamos los cambios, una vez que veamos que quedó como nos gusta. Y LISTO!!!.Hecho nuestro top. Sigamos con el calzado.</p>
<p><strong><em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Creando las botas:</span></em></strong></p>
<p>Yo, para la creación de las botas utilicé el mismo método que en la creación del top. Necesité para eso, otra de las plantillas de Robin Wood, llamada: SL AVATAR BOTTOM LAYER.</p>
<p>Y usé exactamente el mismo procedimiento que para el top. LSo tres documentos abiertos, (las 2 texturas, mas le de la template) Y con las mismas herramientas, LAZO POLIGONAL, marqué los contornos, luego, fui a EDICIÓN/COPIAR (en el caso de cada textura) y EDICIÓN/ PEGAR DENTRO, en cada color y dibujo, y algo así me quedó.</p>

<p>Y de este modo para el dibujo que le quise hacer. Como ven, no parece perfecto, pero ya verán luego que bien quedan.Ustedes, serán más detallistas y pacientes que yo seguro. Recuerden que todo el procedimento de capas, guardado y subida a SL, es le mismo que el top.  Y una vez subida a SL, entramos al menú  APARIENCIA y le damos a crear zapato nuevo. Alli una vez marcadas las medidas a nuestro gusto, enviamos la textura de las botas, a la casilla TELA y nos quedarán listas. Guardamos y ya.A continuación seguiremos con los accesorios de la Wonder Woman.</p>
<p><strong><em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Creando el lazo, la tiara y los brazaletes:</span></em></strong></p>
<p>A continuación necesitaremos estar en SL, porque estas cosas las haremos con prims comunes. Salvo la estrella, que tiene en sus brazaletes y tiara la  Mujer Maravilla, que la podemos hacer de dos maneras, o utilizamos un programa de sculpted prim, como el Rokuro, (como hicimos con la espada), ya que para este simple accesorio, es muy fácil de usar  y rápido, o utilizamos otra textura, que contenga el dibujo. En mi caso usé el sculpted prim.</p>
<p>Aclarado esto, procedemos a la creación de casa accesorio.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong><em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">EL LAZO: </span></em></strong>Sacaremos un TORUS, lo achicaremos  a un tamaño de X=0.066</li>

<p>Y=0.355 y Z=0.253 (medidas aproximadas, no hay q ser exactos) XD</p>
<p>Le daremos en GIROS,hasta 4.00, o sea todo. para que nos quede un espiral.</p>
<p>TAMAÑO DEL HUECO: X=0.450 Y=0.05</p>
<p>Le agregué la textura, que puede ser de sogas, que en los pack de 10mil texturas suelen venir o quizás la consigues le dí un brillo máximo y algo de GLOW, pero cada uno lo deja como le gusta. Copié la misma soga, la achiqué y la acomodé, para que parezcan atadas. Las Enlacé, la renombré y las llevé al inventario. Le di ANEXAR A y le puse STOMACH.</p>

Le hice un corte en CORTE DEL INICIO A FIN: I=0.500 F=1.000 .Luego, en TAMAÑO DEL HUECO X=1.00 Y=0.05. Le agregué la textura, le dí algo de brillo también,y le agregué la estrella, en roja, como la que ella tiene, en  este caso, como ya les dije, hecha en sculpted prim. Enlacé las 2 partes, las renombré, las llevé al inventario, y el detalle aquí es adicionarla a la NOSE (naríz) para que no interfiera con nuestro cabello. Solo queda luego, acomodarla con las flechas de posición del menú de edición del objeto. Y Lista la Tiara.</li>
<li><strong><em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">LOS BRAZALETES: </span></em></strong>Nuevamente, elejimos un cilindro hueco, y les dí estas medidas: X=0.185 Y= 0.081 y Z= 0.081. Le agregué textura dorada, obviamente, y los brillos y efectos deseados. Del mismo modo hice con la estrella, a la cuál, le puse textura roja. Enlacé las dos partes en el menú herramientas, del SL, y los renombré y los llevé al inventario. Hice copia, en el mismo inventario de la siguiente manera : lo seleccioné, le di a copiar pegar y luego, ataché cada uno a su brazo correspondiente .</li>

XD y por qué no, presentarse a algún CONTEST, en el que se pueda participar con disfraces, que a veces, seguido, hay uno. <p>Alesan pertama sih si Febby maw ke rumah buat belajar biola (aku disuru ngiringin pianonya). Eh ternyata jadinya malah diajak ke GM bareng si jemie juga.</p>
<p>Yasuda akhirnya Febby tetep dateng ke rumah, latian bentar sambil nunggu Jemie. Baru dari situ ke GM..lunch di WOK. Akhirnya!! AKhirnya nggak makan masakan JEPANG!! hahaha&#8230;soale biasae lek ga makan bentoya yo makan Hoka Hoka Bento..hahaha.</p>
<p>Hari ini agenda jalan-jalannya cuma makan siang, beli roti (aku), beli baterei (jemie), dan kunjungan wajib ke TGA. Di TGA menghabiskan waktu untuk liat-liat buku mahal ttg interior2 dan rumah2 itu..trus ada foto ttg anjing2 juga. Pertamae aku pengen foto sama foto anjingnya cuman akhire ketauan dan ditegur sama mbaknya &#62;.&#60; . <p><em>First published September 29th here at <a href="http://www.acegamez.com" target="_blank">Ace Gamez</a> &#8211; </em>Industry veteran Hideki Kamiya has quite the resume, having created the Devil May Cry series and the criminally under-selling Okami. It’s safe to say that the man is no stranger to innovation, having co-created a short-lived run of beautifully abstract titles while at the helm of the now defunct Clover Studios. The industry dream team that makes up his new studio Platinum Games includes such heavyweights as Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, alongside Viewtiful Joe and God Hand creator Atsushi Inaba. The developer carries on the same impeccable standards of design and attention to detail that gamers have come to expect from the group as showcased in their debut title, the visceral and aesthetically unique Madworld.<!--more--></p>
<p>However if there’s one thing that Kamiya knows, it is third-person brawlers, as made evident throughout the seminal Devil May Cry series. Bayonetta then, is something of a homecoming for the director, utilising the same balletic flair and hard hitting combat that made the underworld adventures of Dante and Nero such a great success.  The game digs its heels firmly in familiar territory, featuring a gun toting protagonist armed to the teeth with a vast array of weapons and magical attacks, alongside a penchant for the ethereal as suggested by the games heavenly backdrop. While it has slipped to 2010, there remains a great deal of hype from gamers who simply can’t wait to get to grips with the game, thanks to publisher Sega’s drip-feeding of gameplay videos and gorgeous screenshots that suggest we’re in for a treat come January.</p>
<p>Bayonetta is the bespectacled heroine of the title; a shape-shifting witch who finds herself in an unfamiliar realm and suffering from a serious bout of amnesia. Similar to Devil May Cry’s Dante, Bayonetta is a striking lead character, radiating cool with her slinky fighting style and an outfit that leaves little to the imagination. If you can believe it, Bayonetta’s shiny black cat suit is actually made out of her own hair and by using her morphing abilities she can mould it into an array of objects, such as giant fists which are perfect for smashing enemies into submission, or a gigantic demon head that can chomp large foes with its razor sharp fangs. Needless to say, it’s not the kind of hair style that can be tamed with a bit of wax and some hairspray.</p>
<p>From what has been seen of the game so far at both E3 and TGS, the combat system looks incredibly deep, with hair manoeuvres appearing to make up a higher tier of the dense attack system. You will also be able to let rip with Bayonetta’s four pistols; parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme, two of which are held by hand and the other two are embedded in her stiletto heels. With such a rapid rate of fire, you can juggle enemies in the air and pull off a wide range of insanely acrobatic attacks with a fluidity that is next to unmatched. For variety and the purpose of keeping the combo chain flowing, you can mix things up by throwing in magical and weapon-based attacks, with the option to cycle between the two on the fly opening up possibilities even further.</p>
<p>As if this wasn’t enough, Bayonetta can also unleash contextual attacks that come into play whenever you stun an enemy, as well as blocking or dodging an attack at the last second. When you successfully evade an enemy strike, you can engage ‘Witch time’ that allows you to follow up with a flurry of devastating counter-attacks. There is a great deal of risk-reward here, as missing a dodge or block will result in taking a lot of damage, but successfully pulling it off makes the gamble all the more worth it. These manoeuvres also work in tandem with ‘Torture Combo’s, which are punishing magic-based counters that let you summon guardian spirits to help you fight or, as seen in recent footage, massive guillotines that can be used to slice up enemies.</p>
<p>Guns and magic aside, you can also summon ‘Angelic Weapons’ that can be cycled through mid-combo, opening up further combat possibilities. So far, Sega have only revealed a sword and a whip, but it’s safe to assume that there will be many more available. While a large part of Bayonetta’s appeal lies in the spectacle of facing off against angelic monsters at least ten times your size, twirling and back-flipping while unloading thousands of bullets and generally being a bit of a show off, the game simply doesn’t seem like it will appeal to those unprepared to learn the supposedly vast combo trees and deft button presses required to pull off the big moves. Kamiya has hinted that there will be a simplified control system in place that you will apparently be able to play with just one hand. This could either end up being a tad condescending or a nice introduction for newcomers to the Devil May Cry style of play.</p>
<p>Another nod to Devil May Cry is the existence of in-game currency which are in this instance, halos that spill out from defeated enemies. These can be spent on levelling up Bayonetta and acquiring new moves or weapons in the mid and end of level shops,  with the rate of drops depending on how high your combo chain is when you defeat enemies. You will most certainly need to toughen up as best as you can to stand a chance against the games gargantuan bosses that makes the Hydra from God of War pale by comparison.</p>
<p>So far, only one boss encounter has been revealed as part of a hands-on demonstration at Japan Expo 2009. The fight sees Bayonetta squaring off against a lumbering giant on the edge of a precarious cliff. As you batter the beast backwards with your attacks, it slides off the edge, clinging on for dear life and attempting to squash you with its massive fists. Once its health has slowly chipped away, Bayonetta lets rip with a devastating hair attack that sees her cat suit transform into a giant set of gnashers that makes the beast look tiny by comparison, that literally tear the enemy apart in a rather messy fashion.</p>
<p>This scenario pretty much sums up what to expect when the game drops in January. Fast-paced, over the top action that rarely lets up to let you pause for breath. As such, Bayonetta is doomed to being enjoyed by a pocket of gamers who relish a difficult challenge and don’t mind the fact that game is as off the wall and abstract as they come. While the title looks miles apart from Platinum Game’s cel-shaded releases, it is still a rather bizarre game. Being so ahead of the curve and straying from the beaten track is what game Clover Studios its unique identity, but it also what led to their unfortunate collapse. That Platinum Games still have the confidence to stick to its guns and continue doing what it does best is admirable and something a lot of cookie-cutter developers could learn a thing or two from.</p>

It has been in development for 3 months yet and includes many interesting changes especially for people with advanced camera&#8217;s. This is also the first public version which includes the new Core Image Processing Unit.</p>
<p>36-image converter 4.7 is far from finished but the current release already shows huge improvements, but still isn&#8217;t stable yet. We could say that it&#8217;s already 20% finished. Here&#8217;s a full list of all changes in this build :</p>

<title><![CDATA[When does a SAN become more than just a SAN? when its a DVS SAN!]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>The key differentiator between SAN&#8217;s is often speed which is critical but it isn&#8217;t everything. When designing a SAN for a facility you don&#8217;t just need speed but also some way of managing the SAN, and this is a critical element for prospective SAN owners to think about. Similar to buying a V8 engine and popping onto the back of a billy cart (or soap box racer for our American friends), no control, no management, just a whole lot of pain on the way.</p>
<p>DVS have spent  a great deal of their research and development resources to this specific area due to their knowledge of the mid to higher end SAN environments with a key range of tools that address content management, SAN management and Defragmentation tools.</p>
<p>The DVS SAN management tool offers a graphical representation of the  SAN to show your storage, fibre switching, HBA&#8217;s, and even down to your send and receive rates on individual SFP&#8217;s in your SAN. With a GUI to represent the volume status and bandwidth performance, really a sensible addition that few vendors have taken on. Other SAN&#8217;s can provide similar functions with the addition of a third party package, DVS however offer this in a single package.</p>
<p>The second part of the DVS package that adds another feather to it cap is Spycer. Spycer is a brilliant tool that that is best described as Complete Content Management. It features an asset database that is searchable with custom search functions, proxy generation of assets, sharing of assets across multiple clients via SpycerNet and high speed copy with DVS appliances make this simple interfaced product a powerful addition to the DVS Range.</p>
<p>But the last and most formidable feature to its opponents is the DVS Defragmentation Tool nick named &#8216;Mephisto&#8217;. Fragmentation has not necessarily been an issue in most post houses until now. With the accessibility of DI tools and file formats like DPX TIFF&#8217;s TGA&#8217;s coming to the forefront, in a very short time the adoption of image sequences for example has been very  quick. Unlike self contained Quick-times or MXF files, DPX strings can reach into the tens of thousands of files spread across disks on your SAN eventually creating a nightmare when you need to relay these sequences out in a contiguous file alignment. The DVS Defrag tool Mephisto does several different things, all of which are more than just value adds, they start to show the ROI in a very short amount of time.</p>
<p>On your run of the mill SNFS SAN the defragmentation process is a function that is performed somewhat crudely by initiating a copy or a move to a different volume or workspace which then lays the data into single string. Possible yes, but the bandwidth and the disk space required means that it becomes an expensive endeavor.</p>
<p>Mephisto not only scans and defragments the volume whilst you are operating, but it lays the file sequences down in a continuos file sequence again, WITHOUT the requirement for additional storage and copying EVERYTHING over to perform a defrag process. </p>
<p>Probably one of the crucial points to take away from the DVS experience is the ability to not only defrag the volume initially as you can see above, but then also collates all the free space blocks that have been displaced throughout the process and then reclaims every single block of unused data. You can reclaim disk space and keep your SAN in pristine condition.</p>
<p>A very simple and yet brilliant feature is the way DVS have been able to implement these defragmentation processes in schedule. That way you can guarantee that the defrag process will start and continue when the SAN is in downtime, or perhaps merely copying from another destination. Your Sys Admin will be extremely happy as the schedule performs dutifully, without someone clicking a button and watching a progress bar.</p>
<p>But what happens if the SAN is in use 24 hours a day. Not entirely out of the realms of possibility in these times. If there is no chance of having dedicated downtime, then why not throttle the defrag to a certain amount of bandwidth? Now you can. If your SAN can operate 12 Streams of Uncompressed HD and you only need 10 for that day, then you can dedicate the value in bandwidth of those two streams to the defragmentation tool to ensure that your users never get a dropped frame whilst your high end SAN is getting the pristine upkeep it deserves.</p>
<p>Put simply, the product offering by DVS is far and above its competitors not just for speed and elegance, but rather the offering of a turn key Asset Management and SAN management solution without headaches or expensive downtime. Whatever your post house, DI facility, animation house or broadcast facility specializes in, DVS has thought of you and has crafted their tools to match what you need for SAN management. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>It&#8217;s hard to believe that four years ago I didn&#8217;t even know what heart defects were.  I didn&#8217;t even know that some of the families I knew at the time were heart family survivors. I thought they uncommon and rare.  When Jacob was born all that changed.</p>
<p>The moment we were life flighted to the hospital and he was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries my eyes were opened and our lives changed forever &#8211; for the better.  Yes there have been many scary moments and I would have never wished or wanted our son to go through heart surgery and all the things he did, but we have grown through it and our lives are more enriched.  I have met amazing people and made lifelong friends. My faith has grown in ways I never knew possible and I have found an amazing cause worth fighting for. (There are a lot of amazing causes worth fighting for &#8211; but sometimes there is that one that you feel connected to.)</p>
<p>On Saturday our local Children&#8217;s Heart Foundation chapter held a family picnic for CHD survivors and their families. It was fun and amazing to see Jacob running around with all the other kids and to chat with other heart moms I have come to know and love as we pray for each other, cry with each other, and celebrate and cheer with each other.  </p>
<p>There was face painting and games and some great reminders about the importance of research &#8211; (which is what the Children&#8217;s Heart Foundation funds &#8211; research for Congenital Heart Defects).  Our cardiologist was even there and it is always wonderful to see him (out of the office of course!).</p>
<p>We hope this new tradition of the Heart Family picnic continues and that next we can see the return of the Lion Heart Festival in addition.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>In this study, material characteristics of historic oil paintings in a 19th century church in Ayvalýk/Turkey were investigated to propose the treatments to be used in their conservation and protection. For this purpose, physical, chemical and mineralogical compositions and the microstructure of the paintings were determined by X-ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscope, Thermo Gravimetric Analyzer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Infrared Spectroscopy and Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy. Analysis results showed that the paintings were composed of very thin binding and white priming layers on which the pigments were applied. Binding layers were composed of polymerized vegetable oil with Zinc Oxide. Priming layers were composed of anglesite mineral in polymerized vegetable oil. Pigments used in paintings were mainly green earth, red chrome and iron oxide.</p>

Começou a carreira como mecânico, engenheiro e, depois, tornou-se dono de um império com siderúrgicas, usinas, navios, ferrovia e minas de carvão. Apesar de empresário genial, era mau administrador. Em 1892 construiu o primeiro carro, motor 2 cilindros, parecido com uma charrete. Logo em seguida, construiu dois carros de corrida: o <em>&#8220;Flecha&#8221;</em> e o <em>&#8220;999&#8243;</em>. Incansável, alugou uma oficina e fundou a <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Ford Motor Company</span>. Seu valor como empreendedor revela-se ao descrever em sua obra como as fábricas funcionavam. Criticou os empresários da época, cujo objetido era fazer dinheiro e não produtos bons, duráveis e que tivessem utilidade.<br />
     O sucesso foi chegando, inúmeros modelos, cada um com sua história. Veio a partida elétrica, lubrificação automática. Ford acreditava na propaganda e seus veículos ganharam confiança e credibilidade. Seguindo a seqüência do alfabeto Ford chegou ao seu modelo T, padrão e foi este carro o mais popular no mundo no início deste século.</p>

2- Empregar planos inclinados ou aparelhos concebidos de forma que o operário ponha no mesmo lugar  a peça que terminou de trabalhar, indo ela ter à mão o operário imediato por força do seu próprio peso, quando for possível.<br />
3- Usar uma rede de deslizadeiras por meio das quais as peças a montar se distribuam a distâncias convenientes.</p>
