We have entered the final week of preperation for the This Ain’t No Disco theme part.The road has been longer than an whales cock to be honest but were getting closer to the end of the work and the beggining of the fun part!I think sometimes people don’t understand or realise that a lot of work goes in to produce what you see when you come to a club night and sometimes it’s a little fustrating that people don’t see it.However the dj’ing side of things usually makes up for that.

I have watched this video a number of times and everytime I watch it I am amazed by this it. Ajarn Chai and this boy are amazing. Big props to his parents and Instructors for teaching him the fundamentals, discipline and respect to have the talent level that he already shows.

Lord, jag började städa igen. Plockade ordning på en massa viktiga papper som jag har haft utspridda i femton olika pärmar. Skittråkigt men jag lyssnar på hög musik för att göra det hela lite roligare. Just nu är det….Tokio Hotel.

Har repeatat Kents senaste skiva Röd ända sedan den kom ut så jag var tvungen att förändra mig lite. Har en massa bra musik att lyssna på så jag får svår beslutsångest när jag ska välja.

Hm, vad ska jag fixa härnäst? Väntar på att Lövet ska komma hem med mjölk så jag kan dricka java. Har pinat i mig tre vidriga koppar utan mjölk (lika mycket som en burk cocaine om jag inte minns fel) Men jag behöver mer energy NU.

Yes, in many ways it can seem cliche but oh how far it is from that!  I am truly grateful to have a good devoted, kind, loving husband. I feel so blessed to have the good children I do. Each holds a very special spot in my heart.

I love my daughter in law and my soon to be daughter in law. I feel so blessed to have the parents I do. I have always felt of their love towards me. They have taught me so many things like honesty, kindness, to work hard, to enjoy life, to laugh, etc.

Then to have the in laws I have. They are wonderful. I only hope that I can be an in law like they have been to me. They have always praised me, my parenting skills, etc…they always lifted me. I’m grateful that we live where we do, surrounded by such good people.

Chivalry

By REQUEST, I will begin to express my dearest opinions towards this topic.

A dead, well, dying stereotypical characteristic… It mainly depends on how you interpret what the notion of ‘chivalry’ actually is. It can be seen through a person living in the 18th, 19th or 20th century OR even back in the ancient society.

Ill express these different classifications of the ways people express the attitude, ‘chivalry’ through chronological order of events in history.

But I’ll start with modern day. In this contemporary age, the basic definition of ‘chivalry’ is ‘a courtesy towards women’. In relation, when one opens a door for a woman, it is classified as a characteristic of ‘chivalry’. This is not the case in this day and age. I may not speak for the whole of society as interpretations differ, the minds of every person is unique and so, I cannot clarify a general interpretation of ‘chivalry’, however, I can clarify for you, ‘MY’ interpretation of chivalry.

I believe that idea that to call someone ‘mistress’ is a dying custom and that only very few continue to use it. I also believe that sliding out a chair for a girl is ‘pussy’ and only gives a feeling for ‘awkwanoia’ (conrad’s made up word) between the two. However, I certainly believe that chivalry has developed to become accustomed to today’s traditions. Now, the characteristics of chivalry are to tend to a girl if they request for assistance, to compliment and to even buy a drink for.

I also should not deny the fact that modern feminism has influenced that notion of chivalry.

Sadly, chivalry is a topic too broad to clarify, but that does not mean I cannot compare it to past societies.

In the ancient society, chivalry was to call the women, ‘mistress, provide them with first serves of food, gifts for special events (marriage)’ this information can been gathered from archaeological evidence. In the 18th century, chivalry was to open the door for a woman, bow, hold their hand to walk. In the 19th century, chivalry was to basically to provide them with more equality, to allow them better education, job opportunities.

Ill end with my comment, ‘Chivalry is a characteristic that is influenced throughout the times, it is not uniform and will vary between different cultures, minds, ages and genders. Hence, it is a topic too broad too comprehend as vast amounts of information is required to clarify its notions’. I do not have time to write a book about it, but I will leave it as a definition that is undefinable due to its inability to be uniform.

I repeat, this was a request. From now on, I will only post opinions that will definitely be answered.

Wow, who would have guessed such a day would actually turn out bad, but hey what can you expect because it is Friday The 13th!
( well yesterday it was…fuck, sorry Im late)

Let me summarize the day!

In the morning, we finally filmed our Tv studio programme, HOWEVER because it was friday the 13th, Dennis our interview victim decided he couldnt be in our show, but partly our fault because we took such time making final rehersals…fuck.
However we did get the Janitor , Solaf; to be in our show, so he saved the day!
I´ll try to get a copy of the finished production and post it here eventually

Aftyer THAT, I went to see my friend Lucien perform with his band Basil!
It was very good, and very fun too to see all the different people who’d gathered at this place; loads of emos and nerds…but also many hot Scene girls, yauwza!

However it was after THAT, that todays great misfortune occurred…
When Lucien and I were eating in town, I notice my ID card is missing…yeah…fuck..I lost my ID card.
Urgh I cant believe such a thing would happen, I am always so careful about my things, especially important things like cards, my
cell, money and stuff like that…

-Either it was this ‘godforsaken’ day, or it must be some sort of bad karma…or the curse put on me by my witch ex…

Whatever it is, it made me so freaking stressed up and dissapointed, I was so happy I finally had my very first ID card, and then only tp have it lost 4 days later…

… “Phở Baby” …

Tôi hiển nhiên có tên “Phở Baby” khi hắn biết được tôi mê ăn phở hơn bất kỳ món ăn nào .

Khi kinh tế vào thời kỳ khủng hoảng, các hãng xưởng tìm đường cắt bớt những chi tiêu hàng tháng. Nhóm tôi cũng nằm trong “những cắt giảm” đó. Từ giã văn phòng (cubicle) ở lầu 7, khung cảnh không cao sang như ở hạng 4 hay 5 sao, nhưng với tôi nó gần gũi và dễ thương chi lạ. Văn phòng nằm ở góc của building, cạnh một khung kính lớn nhìn xuống vườn cây, cả một màu xanh rì của những cây oaks, quanh mỗi gốc cây hoa li ti đủ màu sắc trồng theo mùa… Và lâu lâu giật mình khi mấy anh đi lau chùi cửa kính đu dây lù lù xuất hiện tạo những bóng người khổng lồ nghiêng nghiêng theo bóng nắng soi vào văn phòng… Thích nhất vào mỗi buổi sáng, ánh nắng ban mai chiếu rọi sáng rực cả phòng, đó cũng là nguồn năng lựợng cho tôi để “working hard” cho một ngày… như những ngày… chúi mũi vào màn hình computer có bao nhiêu khung chat với những nhức đầu.

Ngày dọn văn phòng cũng đến… Xếp lịch sự hết biết, xuống nhà kho lấy cho tôi “moving boxes” và cho biết ngày nào nhóm chúng tôi phải dọn qua một building khác… Dọn phòng cũng là dịp cho tôi quăng bớt những thứ, những sách, những tài liệu mà chẳng bao giờ đụng đến… Và từ đó tôi quyết định chỉ dùng “soft copies” mà không dùng “hard copies” nữa, vừa bớt cực khi mỗi lần dọn đi nơi khác vừa “saving some trees”.

Building mới kín bưng, họ chuyển đổi một nhà kho hàng (warehouse) thành văn phòng làm việc, không cửa sổ nên chẳng biết mây trời, mưa nắng ra sao… Văn phòng mới diện tích nhỏ hơn, xoay người là ra đến cửa. Nhóm chúng tôi được sắp nằm trong khu vực gần cửa… đó cũng là một thú vị… Vì khi muốn “dzọt” về sớm thì chỉ vài bước là ra đến xe ))… nhưng ngặt một nỗi văn phòng của xếp lớn nằm ngay lối đi về.  Hôm nào xếp không làm ở nhà, thì chúng tôi phải đổi hướng xuống núi.

Sau chuyến dọn văn phòng kỳ này, tôi quyết định không sắp xếp sách vở lên các kệ sách nữa… Để phòng làm việc nhỏ nhìn rộng rãi, thoáng mát hơn một chút. Ở khu vực hàng xóm mới được vài tuần, thấy cũng dễ chịu và quen dần…

Dưng có một buổi sáng, trên bàn làm việc xuất hiện một chậu kiểng “lucky bamboo” (cây phát tài)… Đi dò la đám bạn đồng nghiệp, thì họ chỉ cười và nói :
- “You have a secret admirer” – [Một người đang ngưỡng mộ bạn]. Nói vậy thì điều tra thêm làm gì nữa chứ ) .

Rồi một ngày làm việc qua đi với những tất bật, sáng hôm sau vào sở tôi nhận được một mảnh giấy nhỏ, thêm một bình nước bên cạnh cây phát tài :

- Life is emerging from the cleaniness… take care Life, and have the bottle of water for you to water Life – [Cuộc sống được thể hiện qua sự sạch sẽ... nhờ chăm sóc cây phát tài và sẵn có bình nước để tưới nước cho cây].

Ah hah, phải vậy chứ… Tính tinh nghịch phá phách của tôi làm “giám đốc” nên trò chơi gửi thư như hồi nào lại theo những tờ giấy nho nhỏ đủ màu sắc bay mỗi ngày quanh “Life”…

Cứ thế những tờ giấy nho nhỏ, qua lại khoảng chừng đâu 3 tháng… trước khi về, tôi viết thư cho hắn, ngày hôm sau tôi nhận được thư từ hắn … Dần dà hắn chán trò chơi viết thư nên đã liên lạc tôi qua khung “chat”.

Sau này mới biết được hắn ngày nào cũng theo dõi tôi vì hắn làm ca hai nên giờ trưa của tôi là giờ sáng của hắn… Thành ra giờ trưa của hắn, buổi tối trong sở vắng hoe nên hắn mới đi lang thang, trời xui đất khiến sao hắn đến văn phòng của tôi… Hắn cố tìm xem chủ nhân của văn phòng này là ai, ngoài những thứ dùng văn phòng trên bàn… chỉ có bảng tên in hình “trăng và sao” ) … Hắn nói chưa thấy văn phòng của ai sạch sẽ, gọn gàng như thế  … ( và tôi cũng chỉ cười trừ … )

Lâu lâu nhận được một bịch đậu nành hương vị cay cay từ hắn, kèm theo tờ thư
- “Trading washabi beans with your tasty coffee” – [Trao đổi bịch đậu nành sấy với cà phê thơm ngon].

À, thì ra vậy… hắn bị thôi miên đến khu vực giang sơn của nhóm tôi do hương vị cà phê “Dumont” mà tôi mang vào chia với bạn đồng nghiệp uống trong những giờ nghỉ tán dóc.

Rồi hãng cắt giảm thêm, nhóm chúng tôi cho về làm ở nhà, gõ cửa qua khung “chat” của hắn về chuyện tôi sẽ không vào hãng nữa, mong muốn “Life” có thể chuyển qua người khác chăm sóc, vì đó là truyền thống mà hắn mang “Life” tới… Tôi là người thứ ba chăm bón cho “Life”, trong 6 tháng “Life” mọc thêm lá và ra nhiều nhánh… lần đầu tiên tôi chăm nom cây không “tàn theo mùa thu” như bao lần ).

Another night when I wanted to ditch a workout.  You put me on a treadmill, even with 7 flat screens in front of me and my iPod, I get bored very quickly.  Sooooo fast.  But tonight was my 1.5 mile walk and I needed to get it done. 

So, I took a page out of Angela’s and Dr. Oz’s books and broke my workout up into thirds.  I used to think that runners and such just ran the entire time during their workouts.   I mean, I saw them…running.  I never saw them stop.  But after reading blogs like Angela’s and those of other runners, I now know that most of them stop and take breaks. 

So here’s the breakdown:

• Treadmill:  1/2 mile, 2% incline, 2.3 mph
• Lateral Pulls.  Keeping the stability ball with me, I next get down on my knees and work my abs.  I balance on my arms and roll the ball away from me, which takes me into a plank position. ~ 15 reps.
• Treadmill:  1/2 mile, 3% incline, 2.3 mph
• Lateral Pulls ~ 15 reps
• Treadmill:  1/2 mile, 1.5% incline, 2.0 mph
• 43 minutes walking, plus 10 minutes for abs
• Calories burned:  450

I was sweating SO much.  My bra was just drenched!! And I am loving it!!

Okay, so on to food.  I ended up having breakfast twice today.  I had eggs for breakfast today and then we had breakfast for dinner tonight.  I managed a healthy lunch, because I met my friend Cindy at Hellas, which is a small restaurant not too far from where I live.  It’s owned by three brothers and as the name suggests, has a Greek flair to the food.  I don’t love Greek seasoning in the way I love Italian, but I do like this restaurant. 

I had the crab meat wrap.  Yum!!  And Cindy and I split some fries.  It was great to hang out with her!! After, I went to Whole Foods to pick up some Amazing Grass bars.  I am spending about $68/week on these, but at least I’m off of my chocolate bar kick (the unhealthy one.) Anyway, I noticed that Whole Foods is now offering a personal shopper service.  You can now email the store with your list, and for a $15 charge, they will pick out everything for you and have it ready for you.  Want it  delivered?  Add $10 more.  Pretty cool, eh?

már egy fél szatyor órát,gyűrűt,menö övet,plussz pierszingeket tesz el magának.Testvére megcsóválja fejét:-Nem lesz még elég??xD-testvére:-Á dehogyiis:’D-amíg pedig Erikkel tárgyal az árról,és fizet,Tom talál magának nyakláncot.Kalóz szemvédős,gördeszkázó csontvázt.Ekkor Saki bejelenti hogy egy szállódát keres.Mivel Erik ezt is lefordítja Réka is megtudja a hírt,és szinte ugyanarra gondolnak Tommal(X’D)Mert a srác megállítja Sakit.Majd nagy merészen megkérdezi Rékát,hogy aludhatnának e nála?Erik döbbenten kérdezi meg Rékát magyarul.Kicsit elpirulva gondolkodik  a fiatal hölgy..majd egy fél perc múlva benyőgi:-Jó..felőlem,a pénzügyeket majd megbeszéljük-ezt Erik szorgosan elmondja nekik.Gustav pedig végre talál egy G betűs aranynyakláncot és egy egyszerű,elegáns arany fülbevalót.Megvásárolják a dolgokat,majd Réka bezárja  a boltot.Réka 6személyes kocsijában ülve  Erik még megjegyzi,hogy szerinte  bejön  a rasztás fiúnak.Neki is nagyon bejön Tom,de eltervezi hogy küzdelem nélkül nem adja meg magát.Megérkeznek..hatalmas ez az épület.Napsárga fallal és passztellzöld tetővel.Hasonlít egy félig érett citromhoz,felfrissülést ígérve.A hátsó udvar és az erkélyek inenn nem látszanak.Belül színes gumicukor kavalkádhoz hasonlítanak a dolgok,de ezt a fiúk csak bejebb érve látják.Eriken át beszélt megint Réka:-Itt volnánk,fiúk.A felső emeleten pont szabad 4szoba 2wcvel és egy konyhával.Tom&Bill 1 szobába alszik,akkor kényelmesen elférnek.-miután elmondta mindezt Erik,megszólal Tom,majd Saki.T:-Azt gondoltam,hogy én aludhatok Rékával.Bill nagyon mocorgós:)-megszólal erre Erik:-Sajnálom,öregem,de neki én vigyázok az álmára.-teszik féltékennyé Tomot,ahogy Réka és Erik megdumálta.Tom csalódottan lépked ki az erkélyre s még megjegyzi magának:-”Úgy is az enyém lesz…”-addig Gustav,Erik és Réka meg beszélik a bérleti díjat.Nos ezt,rátok,olvasókra bízom x)Mindenki gondoljon egy összeget&kész..Bill megjegyzi a mellette álló tesójának,hogy tök szép a kilátás.Tom már egy medencés lazulást taglal.Réka felvezeti őket az emeletre,hogy egyenként megmutassa a szobáikat.Saki:-Én csak egy Tv-t kérek..-és meg is kapja.A Kaulitzéké lesz a legnagyobb.Náluk van az egyik fürdőszoba.A másik+Gustav területén van.Georg meg még itt sincs,ezért elmennek érte,ezt vállalja Saki.Szerencsére megjegyezte az utat.:DMajd Réka garázsába fogja elzárni a buszukat.Réka megkéri Eriket hogy mondja meg a csapatnak,hogy az ismerkedést péntekre tudja tenni,mert sajnos nincs tengernyi ideje.Így marad a péntek&addig örül,hogy ilyen hirtelen jött szerencsével van dolga.Nem várt volna az élettől ekkora fordulatot.Örvend a mai napnak.Sőt,kinevezi ezt a napot,házassági napnak.Ha majd egyszer esküvő lesz,az ezen a szép nyári napon fog történni:)

It’s been a week since The Friday Night Lounge first travelled through the patient headsets at Queen Margaret Hospital. Now came the next most daunting task of my time at Radio West Fife…presenting the second show.

Before I entered the studio, my day wasn’t exactly smooth. The daunting task of getting up early for college and minor things not going my way didn’t exactly make me a happy Larry.

7:45pm, I arrived at the studio. Unpacked everything. Switched on the on-air computer, logged into Myriad – the playout software we use – and configured the mixing desk for the broadcast. Before you ask, no, the recording function is still not available to the standard users. So, unfortunately, you’ll have to take my word for what happened.

Now, being the daft bloke that I am, I forgot to give Barclay the tracks I was intending to use tonight. Since Myriad does not allow standard users to rip music. Boooo!

So, thinking on my feet, I compiled them onto two mp3 CDs. Thinking I would only need to use the CD decks to play the music [used only for when Myriad doesn't want to play ball]. How wrong I was.

As I prepared the CD decks, I decided to check out the sound first. I press play on one of the decks. Sunshine At Night (The Friday Night Lounge theme tune) started to stutter and jump. I opened the tray, cleaned the disc and put it back in again. Played it again. No improvement. Panic started to creep in. I checked the second CD – same result.

Now I had an incredible crisis on my hands.

After frantic phone calls with the boss, it became clear I had to do some quick thinking. When I mean quick thinking – I mean redrawing the entire playlist.

For the next twenty-five minutes, I raided the audio wall on Myriad to get tracks for the show. Luckily quite a few of them were already in the database. The ones that weren’t however, I had to do some searching.

By 8:40. I was ready to go. The playlist changed from beginning with Oh My God by Kaiser Chiefs and ending with Pablito’s Way by Paolo Pavan, to beginning with 2 Become 1 by Spice Girls and ending with I Need Something by Newton Faulkner. In other words, The Friday Night Lounge took a style detour for a week.

9:05. Fade out Smooth Radio. Cue a Radio West Fife jingle. Then cue the theme tune. The Friday Night Lounge had reopened its doors.

In the first hour I discussed: West Fife children ignorant of wars and battles; Russians ignorant of the Berlin Wall; and my thoughts of plasticine gardens. The clever idea, suggested by the excellent James May’s Toy Stories. To round off, we had another That’s From. This time, Addicted To Love by Robert Palmer – featuring in the 1993 Halls Soothers advert [from 01:02].

The second hour was better. Besides playing tunes such as Come Fly With Me by Frank Sinatra and Candyman by Christina Aguilera, I looked at Space Hotels and had a real Trivia’s Cocktail. Three connections between Jupiter and Mars: Both featuring in the lyrics of Fly To The Moon by Frank Sinatra; both being planets in the solar system; and both being Roman gods. Jupiter, the god of sky and thunder. And Mars being the god of war.

10:59. I Need Something finishes playing. I quickly close the show. Cutting back to Smooth Radio, 20 seconds before their news bulletin. Just as well I finished quickly.

11:02 – I left the studios and the hospital. This is time, it was chilly. No rain about. I’m glad a bumpy day is over. However, I could go home and safely say – “it could have been a lot worse”.

That’s right ladies and gentlemen the sun still rose and a new day has dawned. It’s time to forget about what happened Tuesday night and move on.

There is no need to feel sorry for ourselves or cast blame on others, the bottom line is that people were / are upset at the direction the State has been heading and they wanted a change in course.

It’s unfortunate though; that those at the bottom of the ship were drowned while many of those who are steering the ship survived the tsunami of disaffection.

Many things can be said about how poorly Jon Corzine ran his campaign but why bother at this point? It was no secret, everyone knew that the governor was going to have a hard time getting re-elected. Many supporter cut their loses early and jump ship before the boat pulled away from the dock, others bit the bullet and stood by his side, hoping beyond hope, that by November 3rd the ship would have righted its course. I admit, I was one of them.

Do I regret my support for Jon Corzine? No I don’t, as I wrote in earlier pieces Jon Corzine best represented the values that I believed in; early childhood education, universal healthcare reform and fiscal responsibility are just a few that I believe in.

People mocked me when I spoke of the last one, but it’s true Jon Corzine kept the growth of property taxes to just 3.7 percent in recent years and this year, the school tax levy was 2.65%, the lowest it has been in over a decade. He also provided $7 billion of direct property tax relief to the residents of New Jersey, more than any other in history.

Unfortunately those accomplishments were not enough to convince the residents of the Garden State to give him a second chance. Voters were angry at his failures, both personal and professional, from Karla Katz to his 800% toll amortization plan. When you put that on top of the current economic realities of the state like unemployment and the prospect of an $8.billion budget deficit for next year, the people had had enough.

When you further consider the election results it seems that the candidates at the bottom of the ticket, the local candidates, the ones on the frontlines, where the ones that took the biggest hit for Corzine’s failures and not the members of he State Assembly, where it looks like only one seat changed hands.

In the local Monmouth and Ocean Counties races, on both the County and Township level, from what I can see, you can count on one hand how many democrats were elected or re-elected in Monmouth but not one democrat was elected in Ocean County, many good men and women were defeated and Democrats in those counties are angry. They are angry because the governor did not put any time or resources into these counties and it showed on Election Day. The Governor lost each county by more than 60,000 votes each and it would seem that Corzine lost the election due to his apathy for the angry residents in Monmouth and Ocean, an anger which than carried its way towards local candidates, and Democrats are not happy about it.

I have heard that there is a groundswell of anger beginning to come to ahead and changes are underway to shake up the leadership in both the Monmouth County and Ocean County Democratic Parties because of it.

I say that while change may be needed there is no need to act hastily. Democrats need to step back and understand that while these loses hurt and may have set the local parties back a few years, their loses were not necessarily caused by bad or ineffectual ideas or practices on their parts. All this means really, is that they need to work harder in the future and not take anything for granted.

After all, the world did not end Tuesday night, the sun still rose in the morning and challenges still need to be faced. All that has changed is the day, we still need to make the best of it.

… “cũng chuyện tìm việc” …

Ở thời buổi kinh tế ngày càng tồi tệ, tin thất nghiệp như là những điều “thường nghe” hàng ngày trong cuộc sống, đi đâu cũng nghe, tin tức đều đề cập mỗi buổi chiều bật tivi xem local news hay world news.

Từ ngày rumors chuyền nhau trong hãng cho đến ngày tôi “confirmed” với boss bổn phận của tôi training những người team members từ Mexico đã xong. Thì cũng là ngày boss gửi email “set up” confernce call để bàn “chuyện lớn” … Boss dàn xếp để tôi gửi lab top và giấy tờ đâu vào đấy … Theo chân những người colleagues đã nhận “pink slip” trước tôi … và bắt đầu nhận “benefits” của uncle Ồ Ba Ma …

Sau mấy tháng nghỉ ngơi, đi vacation. Tôi bắt đầu ngồi “gạo” bài tìm job thay vì “gạo” bài học thi như thuở nào ở đại học .

Có anh bạn hỏi – “interviews sao rồi TH ?”.

Tôi trả lời gọn lỏn: -”dạ, interviews nói muốn gãy lưỡi mà cũng chưa ai chịu mướn” ) … một job opening mới post thôi, thì có hàng trăm resume gửi vào rồi … Nên điều tiên quyết vẫn là “be patient more and apply thoughtfully to a lot of jobs”.

Qua những lần pre-screen phone interviews rồi in-office interviews … Duy có một job interview làm tôi cứ mỉm cười và nhớ hoài …

Buổi chiều Monday như những ngày, có anh chàng technical recruiter lạ hoắc gọi và nói sơ qua về job description – xong hỏi tôi có interest không ? Job đang mong kiếm mà không interest thì hơi lạ đó à nhen )

Sau mấy lần phone “back and forth”, tôi có địa chỉ của company và tên người hiring manager cho in office interview ngày hôm sau … Gì mà lẹ quá, làm sao có giờ để mà ôn bài đây … Dù sao thì job description cũng rất “match” với những gì tôi làm mới đây … Gì thì gì cũng ráng đánh một giấc thật ngon để chuẩn bị sáng sớm interview chứ …

Không ngờ anh chàng hiring manager lại trẻ măng, vừa làm manager vừa giỏi về technical, lịch sự bặt thiệp quá chừng … Chưa bao giờ tôi có một job interview lại interesting như buổi interview này … job interview chẳng khác gì buổi weekly team meeting, như đang bàn thảo về project mà tôi là người đảm nhận assignment … đi thẳng vào thực tế và very hands-on discussion. Không lý thuyết hay syntax questions mà tôi đã “nếm” thử qua từ những interviews khác …

Sau một hồi như hài lòng với những câu hỏi, chàng hiring manager nói :

- now, it’s your turn to ask me any questions.

Ừ, hỏi thì hỏi, lần này tôi không theo những “interview guidelines” nữa … Chỉ trả lời : I have only two questions.

- sure, shoot. Chàng hiring manager như khuyến khích thêm …

- Am I going to get the job offer ?

Chắc có lẽ hơi ngạc nhiên với câu hỏi của tôi, anh chàng ngập ngừng giây lát, rồi trả lời – vẫn còn một vài interview sau tôi, đồng thời cần thảo luận với other managers nữa … [ biết mà ) ] . Còn câu hỏi thứ hai của tôi chỉ là “follow up” mà thôi .

Anh chàng hiring manager đi với tôi đến security desk để trả visitor badge và đưa tôi ra tận cửa . Sau cái bắt tay niềm nở, chàng hiring manager mentioned thêm một câu mà tôi chỉ biết cười và chào từ giã với lời cảm ơn – “you know, in there you did ask me a very interesting question that none of any interviewee ever asked me before “, “I sure will remember you and that question .”

Chẳng biết tôi có được job offer này không, nhưng thật là một interview đầy thú vị và nhớ hòai đối với tôi …

Poker Texas Hold’em – najpopularniejsza na świecie odmiana,a moja ulubiona. W rozgrywce może uczestniczyć od 2 do 10 graczy, używa się pełnej talii (52 kart).

Główne zasady:

• Każdy gracz otrzymuje dwie karty, który widzą tylko oni.
• Dwóch graczy po lewej od krupiera/dealera wpłaca do puli dwie stawki w ciemo, pierwszy: małą w ciemno (small blind), a drugi dużą w ciemno (big blind)
• Następnie zaczyna się pierwsza runda, gracz na lewo od wpłacającego dużą w ciemno, zaczyna licytację. Każdy gracz ma trzy możliwości:
  pasuję
  sprawdzam (wyrównuję obecną pulę czyli. dużą w ciemno)
  podbija
• Po pierwszej rundzie, gdy wszyscy wpłacili taką samą sumę do puli lub spasowali wykładany na stół jest flop, czyli trzy karty wspólne, które może użyć każdy gracz.
• Rozpoczyna się drugą runda licytacji.
• Jeśli wszyscy wpłacili taką samą sumę lub spasowali na stół wykładana jest czwarta karta.
• Rozpoczyna się kolejna licytacja.
• Gdy licytacja zostanie zakończona, wykładana na stół jest ostatnia (piąta karta).
• Rozpoczyna się ostatnia runda licytacji, po której następuje wyłożenie kart.
• Każdy gracz może użyć 5 z 7 kart (5 na stole + 2 własne), by ułożyć najlepszy układ.

Rodzaje gry:

Rozróżniamy trzy podstawowe rodzaje Hold’ema w zależności od limitów podbić w grze, mianowicie:

• Limit (lub Fixed Limit) – gracze mogą podbijać z góry ustaloną stawkę.
• Pot Limit – gracze mogą podbijać o tyle ile znajduje się w puli.
• No Limit – gracze mogą podbijać o ile chcą.

Section 8 has been a game that has been in the public eye for a few months now. Using the Unreal engine, high standards had been set for this, primarily multiplayer orientated game. Released last week, I picked up a copy hoping it would entertain me until ODST released. Did it?

The game involves you fighting against other soldiers in armoured battle suits with a variety of weapons, equipment, items and techniques. In multiplayer, Primary objectives include taking bases by hacking the computers in them and killing enemy VIP’s or transports. You then get points for doing this, and points for keeping the bases as well. The first to 1000 wins.

There are some good positives I took from the game. One of the main things I noticed when I started playing the game was the very original spawning system. You drop down from a ship, like a drop trooper does. You slowly watch the ground travel closer to you, and the details of the map increase as you plummet towards the ground. Not only does this provide great animation, but it is also very handy. You can pretty much land wherever you want, making it easy for squad tactical advances. If you land on an enemy, it also does a great deal of damage, if not kill them. However, anti-air turrets can be set up. These provide an area in which the enemy cannot land. If they attempt to do so, they will simply be killed before they hit the ground. There is also a nice variety of weapons in the game, and something to suit everyone. One particularity good weapon is the mortar in which a small area is bombarded with a mortar strike. This is very effective against heavily armoured foes or turrets. The levelling system in the game is a nice touch to the multiplayer as well. Being able to create and adjust classes, as well as increase or decrease skills in a certain area helps different players meet the criteria that they want.  There is also an item system in the game. Players get cash for doing certain objectives. With this cash, they can buy various things, from turrets to tanks and battle suits.  The AI in general is pretty good too. It could be tweaked in a few places, but overall it isn’t bad.

Now to the negative, and there really are some terrible faults with this game. Firstly, the driving. The controls of the tanks are awful. It requires using both sticks perfectly together. You may get used to this after a while but it could have been made a lot lot easier. The game play is also way to repetitive. You do the same things over and over again. This does work for many games, but not this one. I can’t help but feel that its a remake of Battlefield 2142, with new armour.  The game play is very similar, as are the weapons. The single player is ridiculously short. You could easily complete it in two or three hours. Another problems is the online matchmaking. If you want to find a good match with several players, you usually have to play with bots. If you choose a No Bot game, I found it took a long time to find a match, if one was found at all. This is annoying, I don’t want to play bots all the time. The online community just feels dead, even though its been open only 2 weeks! The general graphics of the game are, at best, average. Sometimes however, on some textures they are awful and just flat. Another thing that really bugs me is the annoying voice friendly fire warning. For starters, it warns you too long after you hit a friend. Most of the time, its the friend that walks in front of you as well.

I bought the game for £17, and I would not pay any more for it. It is not worth the £40 price tag it has at many places. If you can find it cheap, it can be fun to play with some mates. If not, be prepared to play a lot of bot fighting. The single player is very much a waste of time, except for achievements, and to learn a pretty pointless, short story. The multiplayer could be a lot better than it is if the community was larger.
