Chess, the most popular game in the world, has a long history dating back more than a thousand years

Chess, the most popular game in the world, has a long history dating back more than a thousand years. Board games similar to Chess have been discovered on ancient Egyptian sculptures. Handwritten manuscript, over a thousand years old, referring to Chess has been found. Remnants that seem to be chess units have been excavated in Italy, and some people believe they should be dated at the second century AD. People have been playing chess with objects on some kind of chess table for centuries, and the earliest version that has definitely been linked to chess is a game called Chaturanga, played in India almost 1600 years ago.

Chess is a form of intellectual productiveness and therein lies its uncharacteristic charm. A Chess game pits two “forces”, evenly matched, across a simple chess table. Only pure skill and acumen decide who is victorious and who gets defeated. The sole purpose of the game is simple – Capture or kill your opponent’s king, while protecting your own from being captured. You achieve that goal only by using strategy and tactical foresight. The Chess Board spread across the chess table has sixty-four squares arranged in eight vertical rows and eight horizontal rows. The squares alternate between one color and another, typically white and black. The Chess Board is so placed that each opponent has a white square at his right-hand corner.

Before anything else, the apprentice must learn the name or rather the two names of each of the squares on the chessboard and must practice recognizing the squares by their names. Just as the larger army usually has the advantage in a battle, so in Chess the player on the chess table with extra forces is more likely than his opponent to win the game. Albeit much of the fun lies in finding the exceptions to this law, the notion of material advantage is crucial to any understanding of the logic of the chess table. The normal protocol at the chess table is that one does not announce that one is about to checkmate the opponent. Although the old grandmasters from the last century were known to announce checkmates, it is considered unruly today.

Chess is a fun game that matches wits against wits and strategy against strategy. If you are able to plan your moves in advance, you will surely be victorious. This is the part of the strategy of chess that many fall short on. To be victorious, you must capture the opponents king. Then you rule!

Cupcakes are the perfect dessert for any occasion. They can make an event feel extra special, they can provide for a wonderful baking experience if one takes some additional time to really find some unique refined ingredients, and they can even be something one adds to the list of hobbies he or she enjoys doing alone or with others. These cakes can be made anytime of the day for any event. They are always welcome additions.

In addition they are also great desserts because they can be made in such a great variety of ways. One batch of eight to twelve little cakes baked in one fell swoop can be decorated in such an individualistic manner that one might think they were made in completely separate batches. Because so many can be made in one batch, one person can decorate all of them or several people can work away at putting the final touches on these wonderful treats! Furthermore, because of the vast array of recipe options, one can essentially never make the same one twice if one so desired too!

And, across the board, from children to the elderly, these treats are loved. Children rush to gobble them down and the older folks eyes tend to light up when a freshly made tray is brought home or completed in their kitchens. They can be a fun, easy dessert to make, travel with, and clean-up after. Or for the more seasoned cook, they can be an extravagant project that one takes special time and care with to create a masterpiece he or she can be proud of; one that will continue to impress others for years to come!

Cupcakes awaken one’s cooking and creative senses and skills and make for fun projects that one will never tire of. Essentially, one can keep creating more and more recipes and still never come up with all the possible combinations! So have fun and enjoy!

To make 12 normal size, cream 200 grams of softened butter with 200 grams of fine sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Gradually beat in 4 eggs, and then fold in 200 grams of self raising flour, along with a dash of milk if needed.

Spoon the mixture into paper cases in a muffin pan, and bake for 15 to 25 minutes at approx 350 degrees, or until they are risen and firm to touch.

Leave to cool on a wire rack and then ice with your favorite frosting, or drizzle with jam.

Not only are the Republicans tired of the Barack-Star phenomenon, the Democrats are coming out of th

Not only are the Republicans tired of the Barack-Star phenomenon, the Democrats are coming out of their comas to put halt on his ruinous ideologies.

Michael Steele head of the Republican National Committee had this to say, “The era of apologizing for Republican mistakes of the past is now officially over,” “The second turning point for our party is this. We are going to take the president head-on. The honeymoon is over,” he said, addressing President Barack Obama’s popularity, an “Obama phenomenon” which the GOP should no longer fear. “The two-party system is making a comeback, and that comeback starts today.” props to http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2009/05/michael_steele_honeymoon_is_ov.html

As the RNC leader, these thoughts should have been among his first statements- on his first day on the job. Now Steele is whining that he wants more control over how money is spent, telling Fox News that part of his job is to “manage the money” and suggested that if committee members strip him of that authority he’ll step aside. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/19/steele-threatens-quit-rnc-undermines-funding-authority/ I’d say don’t let the door hit him in the ass, but who would take his place? The RNC couldn’t pay Rush Limbaugh enough, unless of course he’d do it for a $1.

On Wednesday, RNC state chairmen will vote on the funding issue, among others — such as whether to label the Democratic Party “Socialist.” Joe The Plumber said it for us all; no need to make it official.

The two party system elected, “ That One,” and we all have to deal with his acts as President. While we are no where near the end of the tunnel of Obama’s reign, the Democrats it would seem are going to give him a little run for his money. At least a few Democratic elected officials are seeing Obama’s dreams can easily be turned into nightmares.

Obama’s first act as President was signing the Executive Order mandating that the terrorist detention facility at Guantanamo Bay be closed in one year. With four months gone Obama still insists that he will close the state of the art detention facility on time but still has no plan on what to do with detainees.

Politico said http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0509/22677.html ”In a clear setback for President Barack Obama, Senate Democrats moved Tuesday to both wipe out $80 million in new funding for the closing the Guantanamo detention facility and bar the administration from moving prisoners to U.S. soil until there is a more detailed plan provided to lawmakers. Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) confirmed the decision, which follows intense pressure from Republicans going into debate over a $91.3 billion wartime spending bill expected to come to the floor late Tuesday.

“We’ll wipe out all the money,” Inouye said, “And I’ll put in a provision that says none of the funds in this bill or any other bill can be used to pay for the transfer of detainees from Guantanamo to the United States.”
…
“We will never allow terrorists to be released in the United States.” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV)

“Obama hasn’t done us any favors on this,” said one Democratic leadership aide. “He’s a little of this, a little of that. The Republicans have one compelling message.” Perhaps the message from all the tea parties across the nation are finally getting through to the Senate. A little of this, and a little of that, is eroding American capitalism.

Republicans like House Leader John Boehner from Ohio and Senate Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky put the roadblock to the Obama insanity. “It was the opposition they organized among their members which gave Democrats up for re-election in 2010 the willies.” says http://mikesamerica.blogspot.com/2009/05/victory-for-republicans-democrats.html

If nothing else this serves as a warning to Obama that being President is not like being the American Idol winner. He may have won the vote but the public is fickle. Americans, rich or poor are tired of spending money on pork and projects that have no plan. Finally someone in the Senate had enough balls to say the same.

Score one for the GOP!

Okay, the Selma March “gaffe” is up on the Obama gaffe page now. Now, I feel so strongly about this “gaffe” that I’m posting it again, if for no other reason than to have a URL specifically for this Obamination of a speech. I also posted this (minus the vid and formatting) in an IMAO comment.

Selma March Lie

The Setting: Selma, Alabama, USA. March 5th, 2007.

The Gaffe: He claimed to have been born as a result of the Selma March of Selma, Alabama in 1965. The problem is, he was born in 1961. He blatantly lied here and the fact that the media ignores this is an indicator of how liberal our media is and how far down America has come. “Remember the height from which you have fallen,” America.

My Take: If you take no other “My Take” seriously, take this one seriously. And remember it. And pass on the link to your friends, Republicans, Democrats, Libertarian, Hippy, whoever!

I’ve got a few things to say here. First off, 2007?! Really?! Early 2007?!! What the heck?! Does the guy have nothing that he does that isn’t in some way campaigning? Think about it. He’s the first president to come on shows while in office. And he’s done it several times now, and his 100 days are barely over! The guy’s campaigning even after he’s won; and re-election (God forbid) isn’t even close! Toddlers from that time haven’t even been born yet!

Secondly, this is the one that really got me started against Obama. I already knew the general stances of Obama & Hillary (although the gaffe is 2007, I didn’t find it until 2008) & McCain, and so had already picked my vote, but I didn’t know many specifics. I found this, and an intense dislike for Obama started within me. I consider several of his gaffes to be lies. But they can all, with proper planning, be explained away; so, I do not make too much of a deal out of them. But this… this infuriates me! He lies blatantly! He does not bother to even try to make it a decent lie! He is trying to steal creditibilty from a movement that HE HAD NO PART IN, NOR DID THE BLACK SIDE OF HIS ANCESTRY, and, also notably, NEITHER DID THE PARTY FOR WHICH HE STANDS! Who drove the Civil Rights legislation? Republicans! Who opposed it? Democrats. Who were the biggest C.R. supporters? Blacks. Who were the biggest C.R. opponents? Whites. Which Obama ancestors were in the U.S. at the time? The white ones! He dishonors the sit-ins, the brave souls who endured hosing, dogs, bricks through windows. He dishonors King and all the other activists of that era, by trying to USE THEM as a tool to gain votes in a BLATANTLY dishonest manner!

Registered Republican Doctor Martin Luther King, Junior is spinning in his grave; weeping at how his message and efforts are being manipulated, at how a man is using race to gain favour, at how racism is still very much alive in America, when it is “racism” to vote against a black man for reasons totally unrelated to the color of his skin, for reasons related to the Content of His Character.

Goodness, it feels like only yesterday since I did the last one. This was a very… interesting

Goodness, it feels like only yesterday since I did the last one. This was a very… interesting week. <_< Last week’s predictions:

Hmm… Observing this week’s results and the newly added stuff on iTunes… I predict… A LOT of Kylee’s Love Kicks… songs ranking high, more BoA songs, WILD/DR. rising even higher and that’s about it. Goal could very well continue being #1 but I don’t think I’ll see Ayumi or Utada up there.

1st Kylee – Not For You (Love Kicks…) ~19~

Well, what can I say. :\ I’m unconditionally obsessed with the girl!!! She’s so amazing. @-@ And totally needs a new single or something RIGHT NOW. It’s the 4th track on her album and my absolute favorite. Everything is perfect about it. >_< Even if your not into American/Emo/Indie sounding rock with a 14 year old girl, you should give it a try ’cause it’s damn awesome. <_< You MAY be able to “get your hands” on a copy here…

2nd + 3rd Kylee – You Get Me, Empty Handed ~16~, S.A.U., THAT ONE ~15~ (Love Kicks…)

IZ SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! Really, the album has no bad songs. I rated half of them with 5 stars and the other three with 41/2. :3 Actually, her single also has nothing under 41/2. All I need to do is find lyrics for her now… >:)

Amuro Namie – WILD~14~, Dr.~11~ (WILD/Dr.)

Ahhh this single… Is so amazing @-@ Since PLAY’s release last year, Amuro hasn’t released anything that hasn’t totally surprised me(in a good way ;D). WILD is my favorite of the tracks(but I think I said that last week) and I’m thinking this single won’t be leaving the charts for a while.

Kylee – Wherever You Are Tonight ~14~ (Love Kicks…)

I think the only reason this song didn’t get as many plays as the other songs is ’cause it’s the last song on the album. Apart from that, it’s still on level with the other songs. :3 AbSoLuTeLy AmAzInG.

That’s pretty much it for this week. The rest of the songs were a mix between Platinum 9 DISC and NEXT LEVEL. Surprisingly, Buono!’s Goal reached only 6 plays this week. Hmmm… Maybe I overplayed it. ^-^’

Predictions for Next Week

Hmm… I doubt Kylee will rule the charts again… But she’ll definitely be up there. WILD/Dr. will keep on rising, It’s all Love! will appear. Yaguchi Mari’s single isn’t bad also… Apart from that, I think it’s going to go in multiple directions.

Also, there was a small accident this week. Perfume’s single actually got 1st and 2nd place with One Room Disco getting 26 and 23:30 getting 24, but those are off by like 20 counts as I accidently fell asleep with my iPod on repeat(album/playlist) on, so it kept playign the single for a VERY long time. I didn’t count them as they wouldn’t have even charted.

The O tactics are shoving socialism right down America’s throat, and I for one am choking.

The O tactics are shoving socialism right down America’s throat, and I for one am choking.

“Top executives at firms receiving extra-ordinary help from U.S. Taxpayers will have their compensation capped at $500,000. A fraction of the salaries that have been reported recently”, said Obama.

Say goodbye to capitalism. In trying to improve everyone’s life, our new government under Mr. O will dictate how much money you can make. The government prints the money, is turning our banks toward national ownership and is taking another step toward socialism by limiting earnings.

Obama’s team is giving away too many pieces of the pie. Obama’s foremost adviser, his wife Michelle, said, “Most Americans don’t want much. Folks don’t want the whole pie. Most Americans feel blessed to thrive a little bit. But that’s out of reach for them…someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so someone else can have more,” transcribed from Glenn Beck at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgc4zm3XrBc

It is more than just a redistribution of pie. Wake the frig up- where has Mrs. Obama been to say that we feel blessed to thrive just a little bit? Why go to work if your earning potential is limited and you have to feed everyone else while you do the work?

Not only do I want all of my pie President & Mrs. Obama, but I want my cake and I want to eat it too. I want to eat my pie on my terms, every last stinking crumb seeing as it was my hard earned paycheck that I alone earned to buy the pie in the first place. I cashed it, I got the taxes taken out and I have the right to keep it all to myself; that is my prerogative. Democracy is supposed to give me the right to share my pie, not require me.

In other news the stimulus bill which will take away more slices of my pie is making progress in the Senate. “The bill is quite the cross between an over-decorated Christmas tree and an over-stuffed sausage, but that is to be expected.” http://finaxyz.blogspot.com/2009/02/stimulus-bill-progressing-through.html .

Forget dessert, pass the meatloaf.

President Obama has admitted, “I screwed up,” in his reference to selecting Tom Daschle,

President Obama has admitted, “I screwed up,” in his reference to selecting Tom Daschle, Nancy Killefer, and Bill Richardson, to key government positions. How Tim Geithner squeaked by is beyond me.

“It’s important for this administration to send a message that there aren’t two sets of rules — you know, one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks who have to pay their taxes,” Obama said. Earlier in the day, Obama had proclaimed he was “absolutely” sticking with Daschle for Health and Human Services Secretary.-CNN

Only days on the job, and already he admits he screwed up? Maybe the voters screwed up. Certainly from someone with an advanced degree from Harvard, he could have chose to say I made a mistake instead of saying screwed.

In another fine example of failure to vett potential nominees, we are again witness to people whose backgrounds reveal that they are deceitful, not unintentional oversights. A person selected to oversee the implementation of policy should have impeccable credentials, just like Obama who has explained and dismissed any questionable relationship he has ever had with Ayers, Rezko, Kahlidi, Odinga, Rev. Wright Wrong, ACORN, etc. http://www.fightthesmears.com/

Obama has come out smelling like a rose en route the The Presidency even though his own vetting left a lot to be desired. No one still has seen his official birth certificate even after numerous lawsuits by Berg, Donofrio and others. Obama’s selective service documents are out of alignment with the truth. Where is his report card and transcripts? Really, why would the American voters expect the vetting of his selections to be any different than Obama’s own vetting?

President Obama warned Republicans recently on Capitol Hill that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration. “You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he said to the GOP leaders whom he himself had invited to the White House to discuss his trillion dollar stimulus. The funny thing is, I know more about Rush Limbaugh’s success and failures than Obama’s. Too bad for Joe the Plumber who got a full vetting in public.

Are we supposed to believe in all those government agencies working together to prevent terrorism when we have a leader who’s team can’t even vett or nominate someone without tax problems? If the Obama government is trying to adjust the market’s allocation of wealth and opportunity it should start by selecting acceptable candidates and properly vetting them. Perhaps he should take his own advice to heart and ask his wife when he said in an interview for of all places, The Ladies Home Journal, “I would never make a big decision without asking her opinion.”

The millions of Obama trolls must be saddened to know he owned up to a mistake. Obama’s political e-mail list tops 13 million names, a digital force that he can rely on to push for his legislations, hinder critics, or seek support. ” That power gives Obama’s on line advisers a potentially bigger role than many of his Cabinet picks and major hires in pushing through an agenda. A Cabinet secretary stumping for a new bill has been rendered less powerful than a million e-mails crashing the Capitol; a visit to the Hill from top aides is unmatched to on line petitions that clog legislative offices.” http://sweetness-light.com/archive/obamas-online-trolls-to-keep-at-it. The good thing for Obama is he doesn’t have to vett 13 million names.

The little thorns on the stem of the rose that smelled like sweet victory got him elected in the first place will keep pricking and poking away at his selections and his plans-those little thorns are called Republicans. As Obama so eloquently pointed out when people disagree with his policy, he said arrogantly, “I Won,” when challenged by republican Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl of Arizona over the contents of the stimulus package.

You sure did win President Obama, now stop screwing up our land of hope and change.

The last political figure to admit, “I screwed up,” was John McCain telling David Letterman when he canceled a “Late Show” appearance.

We all know what happened to McCain.

Every where you go, people want to know, who is Commentator Ted? Well, okay really people want to know- how America got into this mess in the first place. Will the real Ted stand up?

Making an appearance in the commentator section occasionally here at Ahrcanum, and throughout the political blogosphere, Ted has posted well thought out, topically appropriate sentences using nouns, verbs, and adjectives that make his words worth reading.

From http://www.americasright.com/, to http://naturalborncitizen.wordpress.com/, and other popular political blogs, Ted shows up in the comment section and usually at the top of the list. Unlike, Reverend Dr Kamal Kana Roy Karma karma who blathers on, Ted- also posting as Bob, adds clear and concise information without blabbering on into endless oblivion and rankings with weird links and horrible command of the English language. I don’t always agree with the opinion, but I let it stand for others to interpret.

So who is Ted? An auto bot spammer? Oh, say it isn’t so!

I think it is none other than, Ted Nugent!

America has been craving leadership and at last a gun-slinging, mega-rock star, deerslayer, and patriot has stepped forward to provide it.
Cocked, locked, and ready to rock, the Motor City Madman, the thinking man’s Abraham Lincoln, has unleashed the ultimate high-octane political manifesto for the ages in Ted, White, and Blue the most important patriotic statement since the Constitution as described in his new book, “Ted, White and Blue: “The Nugent Manifesto.” http://www.tednugent.com/Store/Product.aspx?id=SB000004-001

Martin Luther had a dream so why not dream Ted Nugent is the Ted?

Maybe ”Ted is True and Real and Actual Second Coming of Jesus and Christ and Jesus Christ and The Creator and God to Earth. Ted is The Lion. Ted is The Eagle. Ted is The Lion of Judah. Ted on First Coming was also Sacrificial Lamb and Now Seems to be too much Sacrificial Lion and Eagle and even Lamb again how looking for now.” http://tedjesuschristgod.org/ goes on and on, Ted is “TELLING YOU I AM Ted and I AM Jesus and I AM Christ and I AM God! The Creator! The Creator of ALL Humans! The Creator of ALL of Earth! Actually THE ONE LIVING God! Per Isaiah 9:6 I AM THE ONE LIVING God! I AM THE FATHER of ALL Created Life! I AM THE ONE AND ONLY AND COMPLETE God! I AM god and God and GOD! I AM THE ONE AND ONLY AND COMPLETE THE CREATOR.”

Without a doubt this Ted believes he is The One, but we all know Obama supporters have already claimed Obama as, “The One.” I’ve just gotten used to referrering to him as, “That One.” – props to John McCain.

Ted Danson, Ted Smith, Ted Turner, Ted Kennedy, or Ted Stevens? Maybe Ted isn’t a person, maybe it is a thing? http://www.ted.com/index.php/pages/view/id/5, T E D -acronym for Technology, Entertainment, and Design.

Pray, Ted isn’t The Rev. Ted Haggard who is facing a second round of disgrace with a second gay sex partner coming forward with allegations against him.

The HBO documentary, “The Trials of Ted Haggard,” http://www.hbo.com/apps/schedule/ScheduleServlet?ACTION_DETAIL=DETAIL&FOCUS_ID=639213 began airing this week. The New Life Church tried to warn Ted this might happen.

Martin Luther had a dream, I’ll stick with the dream that Ted Nugent is the Ted.

Every political website from here to the Timbuktu Times Tribune has published a Top 10 of whatever list for 2008. Top 10 House races, Top 10 Media Blunders, Top 10 Sarah Palin nip slips). Most of them are boring space fillers written by journos who wanted to take New Years off, but Politico has one truly worthy of The Barely Newsworthy– the weirdest moments of 2008.

Most of them you probably know– Bush gets shoed, Hillary Clinton gets sloshed, Obama gets “that one”d– but some you may not. For example, San Francisco residents, between ungodly butt interactions and the smoking of grass dope, attempted to name a sewage treatment plant after President Bush. The ballot measure ultimatly failed when the sewage authority warned it would be too expensive. Also, most people overlooked it, but Rod Blagojevich considered making a run for the presidency in 2016. The Illinois governor toyed with idea of appointing himself to fill Obama’s seat to “remake his image in consideration of a possible run for president in 2016,” the documents released by the indictments noted.

The circus used to come only once a year when I was a kid. As an adult, it shames me that this political circus and financial conundrum is playing out on a daily basis in all of America . The whole world is shaking its head while the media parades it’s selective stories.

Who raised these leaders who have raped the fabric of our Democracy? “Wasn’t daddy there to change your underwear?”- from Austin Powers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zN6MxLYB8hM

Having dirty underwear is pretty shitty and lots of politicians are shitting themselves about now. Guilt by association doesn’t hold up in a court of law, but added up- circumstantial evidence just might. Patrick Fitzgerald said, “The citizens of Illinois deserve public officials who act solely in the public’s interest, without putting a price tag on government appointments, contracts and decisions.” I believe he misspoke. No one in America deserves the hand that has been dealt, not just those in Illinois.

Fitzgerald has been compared to the likes of crime fighter Elliot Ness, and with good reason. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/profiles/3710309/Profile-Patrick-Fitzgerald-a-modern-day-Eliot-Ness.html. At a time when so many Americans have lost faith in our public representatives and the pervasive lack of accountability, it is inspiring to see a man of true integrity and perseverance is just one of many comments on his blog, From the Desk of Patrick Fitzgerald, Fighting for Truth Justice and The American Way, http://patrickjfitzgerald.blogspot.com/2008/12/king-solomon-sen-patrick-j-fitzgerald-i.html

“He doesn’t shy away from indictments because of political party, holiday season or anything else,” said Cindi Canary, executive director of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/10/us/10fitzgerald.html?_r=1&hp

After nearly a trillion dollar bailout of whom we are still not sure, the Senate in D.C., blocked money for the Big 3 Automakers. The Union said no wage concessions and that put a stop to it right there. Unless GWB, the guy who is still our current President, has something up his sleeve -expect to see a huge deficit in the GDP and pronto.

About the same time in NY, Bernie Madoff the former chairman of the Nasdaq Stock Market who founded Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, the closely held market-making firm was running a hedge fund under an alleged ponzi scheme that racked up billions of fraudulent losses.

Madoff told senior employees of his firm on Wednesday that “it’s all just one big lie” and that it was “basically, a giant Ponzi scheme,” with estimated investor losses of about $50 billion, according to the U.S. Attorney’s criminal complaint against him. Marketwatch reports, “Madoff counted several large hedge fund investment firms as clients, along with some European banks, so if his firm has lost more than $50 billion, the impact could be widespread. “ Ever generous, Madoff donated $25,ooo to a Democratic Senatorial Campaign, September 08. http://www.opensecrets.org/indivs/donor_lookup.php?name=Madoff

Madoff is sure right about the big lie. Look at him, no really look at him here http://www.iliketotellstories.com/2008/12/50-billion-bernard-madoff.html in this photo, this face is someone’s son that it seems willingly defrauded investors like you and me. Handsome by all accounts, looks honest, an upstanding kind of guy, innocent until proven otherwise.

First rule, don’t shit where you eat. American’s are weary of all the shit. The rest of the world is shitting itself that capitalism equates only to greed and corruption and is faltering under the weight of it’s own democracy. Untold thousands continue to pour in to our borders legally and illegally America, with all her faults, is still the land of opportunity and the greatest nation on earth.

Obama has preached change and transparency but the desire to do so is far removed from what we have seen in his post election cycle. Obama has had an excuse for every questionable thing and associate he has ever had. Obama lists among his associates not only Rashid Khalidi, but” Rezko and Auchi, Odinga, Ayers, The New Black Panther Party, La Raza, Farrakhan, and how could we forget his holiness in hate, the mentor to Barack….Mr. Wright…..” http://www.floppingaces.net/2008/03/23/the-obama-associates/ who upon “God damning” America, said that Wright’s ”comments were divisive and destructive.”

“Obama is not the Agent of Change. He is a calculating politician who plays the game the same way politicians have been playing it for hundreds of years – receiving money in exchange for favors from government for his friends and cronies.” http://rightwingnuthouse.com/archives/2008/02/26/will-dirty-chicago-politics-be-the-undoing-of-obama/

The article “Will Dirty Chicago Politics be the Undoing of Obama” seems to have hit the nail on the head some 10 months later. He goes on to say, “The Obama-Rezko relationship must be understood in the context of the influence peddling, the casual corruption, the cronyism, the favoritism shown in less than open bidding – all part of a city and state political culture where the politician, the businessman, and the crook frequently rub elbows and sometimes wear each other’s hats.

Hell, remember all the brew ha ha over Ayers and the Obama’s hanging out at a dinner for Khalidi? The LA Times refused to release the tape and then there we rewards issued for it, including one from Dune Capital.

Dune Holdings is part of Dune Capital Management LP, started by some people from Goldman Sachs. Founded by Steven T. Mnuchin who has donated a total of $14,400 to Democrats in the past year, including the max $2,300 to Obama. http://www.opensecrets.org/indivs/donor_lookup.php?name=Mnuchin

Seems when Dune Capital first volunteered a $100k reward for the Khalidi tapes, Penny Pritzker (Obama’s finance chairman) and Daniel Niedich (Secretary of Dune Capital) sit together on a Real Estate board. http://www.dreier.house.gov/pdf/RER%20-%20HR1500%20Support.pdf

Dune Capital also donated to his campaign http://74.125.45.104/search?q=cache:dpUonTZSoxAJ:www.nndb.com/org/037/000171521/+dune+capital+holdings%2Bbarack+obama&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us. The Tribune Company, http://www.tribune.com/which owns the LA Times sued to open up Jack Ryan’s divorce file. Perhaps thats why Obama was able to walk into his Senate seat, virtually unopposed.

I am beginning to think Obama paid for the tape himself. Obama made no comment that I could find, instead the campaign insisted that its candidate “has been clear that Rashid Khalidi is not an adviser to him or his campaign and that he does not share Khalidi’s views.”

What did Obama have to say about Rezko? ” I am saddened…this isn’t the Tony Rezko I knew, now he has been convicted by a jury on multiple charges that once again shine a spotlight on the need for reform. “ Upon learning about Blago’s arrest, Obama told reporters he was saddened and sobered. “I had no contact with the governor or his office and so I was not aware of what was happening.” http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2008/12/source-feds-take-gov-blagojevich-into-custody.html America is saddened with you, President- elect Obama not only for you but for America herself. America was also saddened to learn that Clinton really did have sex with that woman.

We will all be saddened to know if Obama was directly connected to the Pay for Play scam. http://prairiepundit.blogspot.com/2008/12/emanuel-talked-with-blagojevich.html reports that Rahm Emanuel did have discussions with the Governors administration about possible candidates for the job. Probably all in the course of a days work. Right? The criminal complaint exonerates Obama and his staff, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said, because it quotes Blagojevich as saying the president-elect would offer him nothing but appreciation for appointing Obama confidant Valerie Jarrett to the position. http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/12/rendell_hits_obama_on_blago_st.html

The circus days of the past conjure up aromas of French fries, hot dogs, and buttery popcorn while the sounds were of calliopes. As today’s circus stars of Blago, Rezko and Obama rolls through main street and main stream media, we smell a rat and now hear the same old song of deceit.

God Bless America

This election cycle, more than any other before, has been influenced by New Media – the intern

This election cycle, more than any other before, has been influenced by New Media – the internet, blogs, social networking, and other things that have only become wide-spread in use and access. With how new these things are, anyone has been able to comment on anything and everything, and many more people are getting attention from people around the world.

Many events have influenced this election, but I’d like to highlight a few that showed how the internet and new media have changed the election process.

3. Bridge to Nowhere/Alaska and Russia

Palin’s statements have been a dominate meme since the Republican National Convention - especially these two. Even after the election is over (albeit for just more a week), jokes are still made about bridges and “I can see [insert country] from my house!” We’ll have to wait and see how long they will last, but I doubt that they will fade quickly.

2. “The fundamentals of our economy are strong”

While not as prevalent a meme, this phrase made its own circuit of the internet and the blogs and eventually moved to the more traditional media outlets. It continued to be pulled back out during debates and the worst part of the economic crisis – beit an economic or a political “worst”, however you personally interpret it.

[A related cirulation was the idea of suspending a campaign (or, for joke purposes, homework, assignments, break times, or any number of things), but this was not a new media centered event, it deserves only a mention, but not its own entry.]

1. “That One”

In one of the greatest moments of new media and this election, mere hours – between the end of the debate and the next morning, easily – www.thatone08.com was up and running, selling T-shirts and showing videos using the phrase – and making fun of it, of course. While, in the end, it might not have played that large of a role in the result of the election, it was a perfect example of new media commenting on and affecting the political process, specifically media made of people working from home – people who were perhaps not professional bloggers or writers and were just politically active and aware, and had the tools and put in the time to do what they could.

As a student, a writer, and a blogger, this has been an amazing experience – both to watch the amazing things that people like myself have done, and to do a small part myself in working within the democratic process.

But, to end on a different note, I would like to send a thank you to Rachel Maddow for sticking up for those of us who blog in our pajamas from home – though I must say that not everyone has basements. They are a little impossible in coastal areas when I lived until college.

Thank you all for an amazing election cycle, and goodnight!

(hmmm. just realized I never posted this. so here goes.)

Seriously. I’m trying to move on to another topic, but it’s been one of those weeks.

First, there was this bullshit:

I like that Field asked, “Is that the same as ‘those people’?“

But seriously, folks. it has NOT been a good week for those who would like us to believe that Obama’s campaign for the presidency means that racism is dead and buried in this country of ours.

Let’s see what else we’ve got . . .

Obama burned in effigy . . . at a Christian college. Nice.

Palin preying on her supporters’ already festering ignorance. People are starting to question whether this will backfire.

Meanwhile, her supporters are yelling out “kill him!” and one even said to an African-American news station employee, “Sit down, boy!”

[Nope, we're good. no racism here!]

By the time McCain tries to backtrack, it’s almost beside the point.

I am getting really, really tired of this. And I’m too tired to say much more right now (or maybe my sleeping pill is finally kicking in?) so maybe I’ll have more later this week . . . [footnote: or two months later . . . when we already WON so who cares, right? well, stay tuned . . . ]
