But when we attempt to minimize the message of Jesus down to a prayer or a small exclusive band of followers we without knowing it have minimized the global message of healing for everyone that has already taken place through the powerful act of Jesus on the cross. Which also includes Jesus coming back after the 3-day nap. It is these two acts together that signify a metaphor for daily living. We die to destructive decisions and selfish ways or another way to say it is “we learn from them”, and then through the process of rebirth we come to discover more of who we are meant to be. But when we take the message of Jesus and transform it from being a powerful inventive movement of love that everyone could join in on, we become a community (albeit, without knowing it at times) who supports a sort of religious apartheid that separates one another from the love of God. Jesus crafted a message that allowed all people from all backgrounds who have light and dark histories to go and build a new way of life into their immediate and global contexts. This is a part of what it could mean to be saved. To be saved from ideas and theologies that seek to minimize the inclusive message of Jesus and go and restore cities and hearts and lives back into the healing of the Christ-man. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all could be a part of a movement that condoned peace, grace, love, redemption and forgiveness and through these acts bring people into the movement of Jesus?

I’ve thought often over the past few days how I am neglecting this blog that no one reads, and that made me feel kinda bad. In the past few days I’ve learned quite a few things but I never made the time to come here and tell you about them. Sorry, cosmic void.

I’ve learned that my personality type is ISTJ, and reading over some of the general ways a “Duty Fulfiller” functions, I had to either laugh or look around wondering how in the world they were reading my mind. At least I know that I am not alone. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing?

At least it explains one thing: why I feel bad whenever I neglect this blog that no one reads. I, apparently, am very focused on fulfilling duties, and since this blog is a duty I placed upon myself, I feel guilty whenever I neglect it. Huh. It makes more sense than it doesn’t.

The past few days have flown by. I’ve re-learned what it feels like to come to the end of NaNo all over again – that excitement and sadness mixed, that accomplishment of reaching 200k words and the anticipation of next year. NaNo is fun. I miss it already, and it’s only December 2nd.

I’ll try to work better at meeting my goal of posting once a day. If there is someone out there who does read this, could you let me know? It’s fine if there isn’t anyone, but sometimes I wonder if I’m just sending messages out to the cosmic void or if there is someone who is actually interested in what I have to say.

Of course, being less inhibited online can lead to both positive and negative behaviors. The research firm found that the Web helps 55.6 percent of men and 51.4 percent of women feel more “able to to meet new people.” Users are also using the Web to “be empowered to do something they wanted to.” The study found that 33.9 percent of male respondents and 29.2 percent of female respondents do things on the Web that they might not otherwise feel able to do offline.

While curious I am thankful that the details of what people do or not do as a result of being in the online environment were not revealed.
Now, let’s move over to eMarketer themselves and look at a pretty chart.

Well, I find this type of research both interesting and disturbing. Basically, I am seeing that convenience trumps being real. Welcome to the new world order. I am a firm believer (but admittedly not the best practitioner) that unless you have at least had a phone conversation with someone your ‘interaction’ or ‘communication’ or ‘relationship’ is experiencing stunted growth at best and a borderline delusional aspect at worst. Go ahead and gasp and yell at me. After all the chart below shows that some of you are more likely to say something about me online than you would to my face.

All in all, I always recommend that people be aware and error on the side of caution. Adults can do what they want but you parents out there need to explain to those who are growing up in this environment what the differences are between online and offline communication. Otherwise, we may end up with generations of screen gazers who think that that guy or gal on their screen really IS a nice person and that getting on a plane to meet them in person IS a great idea. Sure that works sometimes but sometimes it doesn’t. What level of risk are you willing to accept?

As for us Internet marketers, if someone is becoming truly ‘attached’ to your brand online outside of having some fun with it and getting useful information then we are in a whole new area of research that should be looked at.

What a great book. I love to read about these fascinating plants. I was talking to someone about a medical condition they have. They said the Doctor called the medication foxglove. I know it brought the book more to life for me. Sorry I didn’t get to view the entire episode. I would recommend this book to anyone. That’s right. 50,404 words in, and I’m only halfway done with my actual plot. The question now is: can I stay committed? Frankly I believe I must, with that CreateSpace offer waiting to be redeemed. I can’t miss the opportunity to get a copy of my very own novel.

Heck, maybe I’ll get lucky and actually publish it professionally. That would be awesome, but is it realistic? Maybe, maybe, maybe.

This month is full of maybes.

Thankfully, the one definite YES I can give you is if you ask: Did you win?

And I am freaking proud of it. It’s difficult managing to write 50,000 words in November. It’s a hectic month with the holiday and all the projects I got assigned with Thanksgiving themes (Sooo elementary, btw…) Regardless, I am pretty darn excited. It was hard, don’t get me wrong, but I accomplished it. Oh, yes. I accomplished it.

The pressure to win this month was maddening; I kept wanting to rip my own hair out. Maintaining my plot line and not killing off my characters proved to be more difficult than I ever expected. But I love all of them, even though I make horrible threats and brandish weapons when I need to assert my authority. Luckily, they continued to cooperate despite my wickedness.

It’s over. I’m elated. I’m sort of sad. But April is Script Frenzy, writing a 100-page script in one month. Now THAT might just be interesting…not to mention a good distraction while I await NaNo 2010.

Above all things, I promise to keep you updated.

Most days I write more, or at least try to. 5k a day is very manageable for me, and 5k a day leads to 150k in a 30-day month. I also try increasing my productivity by participating in word wars and closing my eyes to minimize the thrashings of my inner editor. I also plan ahead so I know where I want to go in the story (even if my characters hijack the story and take it off in another direction).
