J*DaVeY is coming at you out of Los Angeles. The two are on fire (in more than one way). The two released an abum last year which is really a combination of two EPs, The Beauty in Distortion/The Land of the Lost. Their sound is a crazy mix of pretty much every genre you can think of — hip hop, funk, soul, r&b, rock, electronic, pop…

Their first real album is supposed to drop this fall or early winter. Keep an eye out. Videos after the jump. This first video is their first single off the new album.

I first saw this group in concert with Marsha Ambrosious, one half of the former Super Group, Floetry, back in April of 2007. They were on tour here in New York and I’ve been waiting on their arrival to mainstream ever since. It’s something about J. Davey that is just so raw, funky and head knodding. They have a style that is not comparible to many groups out these days. Mr. Mister is the first single off of there long-awaited debut double EP: “The Beauty in Distortion” and “The Land of The Lost”. Check this duo out and see what J.
