One of the best ways to have an amazing Alaska family road trip is to be able to have a flexible sch

One of the best ways to have an amazing Alaska family road trip is to be able to have a flexible schedule to go about the places you want to see and the things you want to do. Touring Alaska independently without worrying about getting left by your group or your tour bus is the kind of vacation your family wants and needs. If you plan to check out all of the must-see sights on your vacation, you will have to book your family to different hotels for a more convenient commute to your prospective attractions. So, why don’t you just drive your Alaska family vacation away with a rented RV?! A regular-sized 20-something foot recreational vehicle can be quite overwhelming for people who are used to driving a regular sedan, but make no mistake, for the kids, the RV rocks!

Instead of packing and unpacking at each hotel along the way, just taking along your lodging with you all the time is a great idea. Traveling around Alaska, after all, requires long drives from point A to point B. With all the RV parks all around the state, exploring Alaska on a motor home is just very easy.

Plan a trip to south central Alaska and begin your family vacation to Alaska in Anchorage, where the best place to stay is at the Anchorage RV Park. There are a lot of RV rentals in Anchorage, all you have to do is pick which one works out for you. Some companies like All Alaska Tours, even help you plan your day to day trip and give you safety tips on driving and traveling around with the RV. You will find how amazingly comfortable it is to be lodging an RV when you start unpacking all your things and stacking them in the RV drawers. Everything just fits! Stock the cabinets with food and other essential supplies and you are off!

The best way to introduce the wildlife in Alaska in this family vacation is a stop at the Alaska Zoo. Apt to their slogan, Connecting People With Animals, the interactive attractions in Alaska Zoo will surely be a great way for your children to get acquainted with their favorite animals and some of the world’s most endangered species. Driving from Anchorage to Portage Glacier is truly worthwhile. Be alert and have your cameras ready for wildlife sightings as you skirt the shores of Turnagain Arm. Check the posted cruise schedule once you arrive at Portage Lake. Get on board and brace yourselves for the hour-long cruise you will never forget. The iceberg-dotted Portage Lake will definitely leave you speechless.

Take another long drive (about two hours) from Whittier to Seward where you can find the Alaska SeaLife Center located just along the Seward Highway. The Alaska SeaLife Center offers up-close and personal experience with Alaskan marine wildlife. Admission rates vary depending on the season, but you can be sure that they will always be affordable – young kids can even get in free of charge!

Drive 2 hours or so to Kenai and spend the night at the Diamond M Ranch RV Park. At Diamond M Ranch RV Park, fishing opportunities are available. Take another day cruise around the rocky and rugged Chiswell Islands the next day, a natural or wildlife area that is considered a sanctuary of nesting Alaskan birds. Right after the cruise, drive 3 1/2 hours north to Hope and enjoy the views of the Inlet and the Chugach and Kenai Mountains. At Hope, board the boat and cruise along the College Fjords, and you are sure to bring home some of the best pictures of your Alaskan family vacation.

Take the 2-hour drive to Palmer for the last stop of your Alaska family vacation with the RV. At Palmer, you can head to the Reindeer Farm and pet, feed and photograph the very friendly adult and baby reindeer or check out gigantic vegetables and monster trucks at the Alaska State Fair. Conclude your one-of-a-kind RV vacation with a stop at the Mat-Su Visitor Information Center where you can find not only informative and educational materials about the development of the Mat-su Valley, but also purchase souvenirs and other memorabilia for yourselves and your family and friends back home.

Head back to Anchorage to return your rented RV. As you do so, take this opportunity to reflect on the trip with your family. Everything that happened in this trip made the long hours of driving worth it. Your children’s unending reliving of the events during your trip will make you feel that this is an Alaska family vacation they will always remember.

Detroit’s long list of things to do and its organized freeway system make it one of the best destinations for a holiday vacation. Grab your keys and head out to have one great summer road trip to this beautiful Michigan city!

Joining tours is still the best way to start a trip to get acquainted with a new place. It is also a great opportunity for you to take a break from driving as soon as you get to Detroit. The Detroit People Mover is a good start for you to discover the city’s downtown area. The ride takes you to thirteen stops, including some of the most popular attractions located downtown. Make the most of this short driving hiatus by stopping at the Greektown, the Renaissance Center and the Joe Louis Arena, which are all accessible via the Detroit People Mover.

Music enthusiasts have a specific Detroit attraction in their itinerary for this summer road trip: the Motown Historical Museum. Motown Records is largest independent music label in the world that has produced big stars such as Stevie Wonder, the Jackson Five, Rare Earth and many more. Go back in history as you browse through the galleries of musical legends and visit the world-famous Studio A where numerous hits were recorded.

For those who are traveling with kids, there are lots of great attractions and activities in Detroit that you can check out. Drive yourselves just a few minutes from Detroit to Royal Oak and head to the Detroit Zoo, which offers kids (and adults) the chance to be face to face with both backyard and wild animals. The zoo’s highlights are the Penguin Aquarium and the Polar Bear Exhibit. Next, drive to East Grand River Avenue to have a little down time with the kids and enjoy an incredible and creative puppet show at the Detroit Puppet Theater (also known as PuppetART). For the months of July and August, the theater features the classic Sleeping Beauty “on stage”. The Detroit Puppet Theater also hosts puppet-making workshops to Detroit residents and visitors, and has exhibits of the most unique puppets they have created. The New Detroit Science Center is always a hit to the curious minds. It has an interesting way of introducing and/or educating science to children. The center’s interactive exhibits, the theater and the planetarium will definitely make them ask questions with answers they will be eager to learn. Summer is Major League Baseball season, and there is a trip to the Commerica Park should definitely be included in your list of things to do in Detroit for this road trip. Join the Detroit crowd as they cheer on the Tigers. If there is no game scheduled during your visit, let the kids enjoy themselves with a carousel or a ferris wheel ride, or by running around the bases.

The Ford Detroit International Jazz Festival happens every summer on Labor Day weekend. Celebrate it this year with thousands of other jazz fanatics at the Hart Plaza on August 29th until September 1st. Hundreds of artists perform during this four day-music filled event, which is certainly one of the best ways to conclude your Detroit summer road trip.

“Nicaragua has beaches?” When a friend recently asked me this question, I was shocked! Well known for its steamy, dense jungles and mountain trails, many Americans are just now discovering what is perhaps Nicaragua’s best kept secret: Its breathtaking beaches!

With beaches on both coasts (and many along its numerous lakes and rivers), Nicaragua is a beach lover’s paradise. With over 190 miles of beaches on Pacific Coast and 280 miles on the Caribbean Coast, if it’s fun, sun, and sand you’re after, you really can’t go wrong in Nicaragua. Once you experience a Nicaraguan playa, you might never want to leave…but that’s okay since there’s never been a better time to invest in local real estate than right now.

From white sand to stony shorelines, from lavishly developed to wooden shacks along the shore, there is something for every beach lover in this land of twin coastlines. To make sure you curl your bare toes in softest sand, take a look at my top 3 picks for your perfect piece of paradise.

Montelimar – Luxury at Its Best
One of Nicaragua’s largest and busiest beach resort towns and arguably one of the best places to relax on the Pacific’s white sandy beaches in all of Central America, Montelimar has the finest collection of luxurious resorts, hotels, and casinos – each designed to cater to your every desire.

Whether you are an average Joe or the President of the United States, you can expect to be treated like royalty by a friendly people everywhere – from eating in a fine restaurant or catching up on some much-needed sleep in your hotel room. Service is first rate and accommodations rival those found in the best beach destinations around the world.

If you’re looking for a pampered vacation spot, filled from start to finish with all the rest and relaxation you desire, then Montelimar is the best sandy spot for you.

If you’re looking for activity, Montelimar is for you. From horseback riding, scuba diving, and kayaking, you will find none better in the world. And, if you’re up for hanging ten, the locals can point you in the direction of great surfing hot spots, too.
Indeed, possibilities are endless on this side of paradise, and, if on the rare occasion you do not have a blast, at least you will go home with a nice tan.

La Boquita Beach – Inexpensive, Clean, and Colorful
With its rocky and sandy beaches, La Boquita has earned a sparkling reputation as one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Nicaragua. Located on the Pacific coast, La Boquita is filled with chic hotels, world-class restaurants and bars – offering an all-inclusive vacation experience.

With seafood that is to die for, you could spend your entire vacation eating freshly caught food and dining on the amazing wealth of tropical delights that grow in and about this little slice of heaven.

As an established destination, tourists can feel comfortable knowing that they’ll find the modern amenities you’re looking for and transportation, accommodations, and day-to-day necessities are all easily accessed and enjoyed.

Important: If you cannot tolerate large crowds of people, this is not the place for you, especially around national holidays. But, surprisingly, despite being overrun by a constant stream of tourists, La Boquita is touted as one of the cleanest beaches in the country, and even with the high-class accommodations, you’ll find it’s really inexpensive, too.

Lake Nicaragua
You don’t have to be on the coast to enjoy the beach. Nicaragua is home to many lakes, lagoons, and rivers that offer incredible beach experiences. The most popular lake in Nicaragua is Lago de Nicaragua, or Lake Nicaragua, also known as the Sweet Sea.

Like the country itself, Lake Nicaragua is the largest lake in all of Central America. Even though this is a freshwater lake, it still contains an abundance of sea dwellers like sharks, swordfish, and tarpon. Grab your snorkeling gear and get ready for fun (sharks optional)!

When you go to Lake Nicaragua, you must visit Isla de Ometepe. It’s 171 square miles of pure adventure and beauty. Filled with untouched forests, wildlife, and indigenous culture, this island getaway will be unlike any you’ve ever experienced. Hiking in its many amazing forests, you’ll discover monkeys, armadillo, opossum, anteaters, deer, bats, and more. Then, be sure to kick off your sandals, enjoy a papaya or guava juice (with local rum, of course), and take a break on the glorious white sand beaches.

If you’re up for an adventure, aren’t a fan of large crowds, and are ready for a quiet retreat into one of the world’s most beautiful and lush island landscapes, then Isla de Ometepe is a must.

As you can see, Nicaragua is much more than humid rainforests and volcanoes…it’s also a beach lover’s paradise. But, shhhh, don’t let the secret out. Let’s keep it just between us, okay? So, next time you’re planning a sandy vacation (or even a permanent move), put Nicaragua at the top of your list and be sure to visit one of these incredible beach paradises.

When you think of Croatia what is the first thing that comes to mind? For many, it’s communism and the fight for independence that dominated the political landscape in the last part of the 20th century. For others who have the inside scoop, it’s images of romantic white sand beaches along the Dalmatian Coast or the national parks and mountain landscapes that are unmatched anywhere in the world. But, did you know that Croatia is quickly becoming known as the world’s hottest extreme adventure destinations for snowboarders?

In fact, snow-loving adrenaline junkies from all around the globe are discovering that Croatia is home to some of the best boarding available, everything from the fluffiest powder to the gnarliest jumps and natural terrain parks for freeriding fun!

Croatia is a hidden gem – both when it comes to its amazing real estate market and its relatively unknown status as a snowboarding and skiing destination. But, those in the know are boarding planes, trains, and automobiles (dogsleds are optional) to get to one of the premiere snowboarding locales in all the world. They’re keeping their mouths shut – sometimes not even telling their closest snowboarding cronies – because the pristine mountains of Croatia are just that delicious!

With a relatively low mountain altitude throughout the country, there are only a few destinations that you should concern yourself with. The following three locations are known worldwide by a select few as the best of the best in Croatian downhill for boarders.

Bjelolasica

Yes it’s definitely a mouthful, but once you arrive, you won’t care if you don’t know how to say it or spell it because it’s a boarder’s ultimate dream. Home of the Croatian Olympic Centre, Bjelolasica is as good as place as any to strap on your board and point yourself downhill. Readily accessible from all regions of Croatia, this center of winter mountain activity is a staple in the Croatian landscape. Ironically, the Croatian ski team – which calls this mountain home – actually practice in Austria. But, don’t let this discourage you – it just means that you’ll have more space to practice your powder-filled descents.

Sljeme

Sljeme found in Zagreb is located on the northern slopes of Medvednica Mountain. Home of world cup events for skiing, it’s a relatively unknown (equals great opportunity for you to cut your own line) in the snowboarding world. In the world-class resort, Sljeme offers you all the amenities you’ve come expect but is paired with a genuine Croatian hospitality that you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere else in the world. Whether on the mountain or in the lodge, this will definitely be an experience you’ll never forget.

Velika
Head to Velika if you’re into spicy sausage or off-the-beaten path snowboarding. With a love wine and fish, locals around Papuk Mountain can not only feed you well, but will point you to a great snow-filled vacation. Definitely not the biggest of mountains you’ll ever board – truth be told, none of the Croatian mountains are equipped to shock you with sheer size – this is definitely one of the most quaint and pristine that you’ll find anywhere in Europe. Remove all the glitz and glam you find throughout the Alps and replace it with a feeling of warmth and a slower pace of life and then you’ll start to appreciate the magic of Velika and all the Croatian winter boarding destinations.

So, if you’re headed to Croatia, take time to enjoy the timeless romance of the Adriatic Sea or the beauty of the hinterlands. Take in the remarkable national parks and infectious warmth of the quaint towns and local folks. Check out the amazing real estate bargains that can be found in every corner of this beautiful country. But, when you’ve had your fill of these more placid experiences, grab your board, head up to the mountains, and – even if you don’t do it yourself – check out the thrill seekers and action heroes who are loving the newest cold spot to tear it up, Croatia!

There’s so much to explore behind the ritzy facade of movie-making Los Angeles. Some of the most satisfying spots to visit are the least-frequented by tourists.

There’s so much more than Rodeo Drive and the Sunset Strip to this vast city. Among these is the burgeoning art scene in Chinatown. Here, each Friday small clubs operate slightly under-the radar, serving drinks to a young, hip crowd that can’t be bothered to make it to the Westside. As the eastside has gotten cooler, the art scene has re-centered itself, allowing a distinct and legitimate encampment on Chinatown’s Chungking Road. Gallery openings are roughly every two weeks and offer the opportunity for public drinking – something you might expect at an art gallery, though not necessarily in LA. You may need to check the website for changes, but during the summer they are usually on a Thursday or Saturday.

Most people don’t even consider the wonderful hiking opportunities in LA. You can hike through lovely wildlife but see a view of a vast urban space at the top. A wonderful view of the city is available from Griffith Park, and the pay off is much higher if you simply park in the neighboring Los Feliz hills and climb to a peak, avoiding the delays, bother and polluting of following the line of cars to park at the observatory. Will Rogers State Park in Pacific Palisades and Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills both offer thoroughly enjoyable walks with splendid views. For more intriguing culinary fare, Los Angeles offers distinct ethnic food at quite low prices in less touristy areas. The Thai cuisine in East Hollywood is legendary, and competes for space only with the Middle Eastern food, centered there and in Westwood, which includes some of the best and most authentic Persian food in the world. Westwood is also home to excellent Lebanese food. Los Angeles’ Mexican food does not need to be spoken for, but for family type restaurants, mainly in the tradition of the Jalisco region, try East Los Angeles proper. There are many informal eateries throughout the city, but perhaps the best Mexican food can be found in Allegria, on Sunset Blvd. in the Silverlake region. The line is formidable, but well worth it.

The final aspect of less-seen Los Angeles is the beach. To stay away from the crowds, you must look for beaches where others simply don’t know about: Malibu. Though residents are hostile to tourists, California law guarantees public access to the 27 miles of beautiful coastline that are part of this wealthy and insular city. Signs saying “coastal access” highlight spots of entrance, which may look like nothing, but, after descending many stairs, you will generally come upon a beautiful and nearly abandoned beach. To find these beaches, simply drive up the coast highway past the Cross Creek mall, where you can stop for a coffee and likely see a celebrity, but persevere until it seems you must be part way to San Francisco. Until the signs say “Entering Camarillo,” you are still in Malibu and near discovering some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

When you go to London, the best time is during Summer, because there’s no snow and you will not feel chilly. When you land at Heathrow Airport you will have access to hire a taxi from there with a driver and he will get you to the very best places in London.

You can also take a taxi and go to other places that you wish to visit further afield. London is the most exciting city in the world, thanks to its 1000 years old history.

It has many gardens & museums for you to see and the first thing to do is visit Big Ben’s Tower and of course the London Eye by the Thames river which in itself has a really beautiful landscape. It is the longest river in England and measures 415 miles in length.

You can just relax and see the sights or go shopping and buy souvenirs from some of the best shops in the UK. Again London is the best city in the world both for shopping and for amazing tourist sites.

It has some of the nicest parks and gardens e.g. Hyde Park, Green Park, Battersea Park, Greenwich Park, Hampstead Park, Holland Park and many more.

Then you also have many museums to choose from, for example the Guards, Fashion & Textile, Bank of England, Museum of Garden History and plenty of others.

The concept of London is that it’s made up of tiny villages which complete the whole. Well illustrated by the famous North of London suburb of Hampstead Garden Suburbs.

Oxford Circus & Piccadilly Circus are great places to visit & they draw millions of visitors every single year. Piccadilly Circus is a rather an untidy place with lots of traffic. Otherwise it’s definitely the central hub of London’s West End and a very popular meeting place.

One more place where you must go to is The Palace of Westminster which is the crux of English Government (the Houses of Parliament which is it’s other title) is directly accountable to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Many Diplomats & Celebrities live in the St. John’s Wood area which is located on top of the West End and is a most beautiful residential area north of Baker Street.

To have a good look at the City of London try a Duck Tour on the river and the road since you will be conveyed in an amphibious vehicle ! and it is easily the best way to travel by road and also to cruise along the river Thames as well.

London is also famous for it’s very historic buildings such as Whitehall, Admiralty Arch, Queen Victoria Memorial, Wellington Arch, Bunhill Fields, Convent Garden and Duke of York’s Column and many more.

For shopping try Carnaby Street, Charing Cross Road, Knightsbridge, Mayfair, Kensington and Oxford Street.

Now you have your answer as to Why Visit London !

British newspaper readers have become accustomed to reading travel articles extolling the virtues of

British newspaper readers have become accustomed to reading travel articles extolling the virtues of Majorca, and why it is the most popular holiday destination for European holidaymakers each summer.

Majorca, or as it is often known as Mallorca, is a holiday island that is as private or public as a tourist wants it to be, and as cosmpolitan as Magaluf or as quiet and pristine as Deia.

Late and all night parties, budget hotels and cheap flights are all on the same island as some of the best hotels in the world such as La Residencia in Deia, and on the same island that has the all night drinking as cycle trails, mountains and traditional Spanish countryside that makes Majorca special for so many tourists – it has one of the highest numbers of returning holidaymakers among the popular holiday destinations in Europe.

But it is economic circumstances rather than the appeal of the island that could see Majorca holidays be relegated from the top spot for European vacations, and see Turkey emerge as the new favourite this year.

A combination of a weak pound for British tourists visiting for Majorca holidays where the Euro is used, making a trip some ten per cent more expensive than for the same time last year, and a looming recession for the UK economy has caused both holiday makers and tour operators to look at alternatives outside the Eurozone to offer value for money family holidays this year.

And it’s not just Turkey that has benefitted from the Euro’s high value as British tourists look elsewhere this year – Florida has seen an upsurge while the pound was buying two dollars, and Egypt too has proved popular.

Majorca was one of the first ever holiday destinations in the world to actively market itself, and has successfully been attracting holidaymakers for over a hundred years now, so if it does slip from the number one position it won’t be down to lack of experience or committment from the island’s tourist authorities.

And low cost airlines from around Europe have enabled Majorca holidays to be more accessible today than ever before, allowing three day as well week and two week holidays to be taken more than once a year for those who rate Majorca as their first choice of holiday destination.

The property market on the island has benefitted too from cheap flights to Majorca, with low prices and a choice of departure times from regional airports, owning a villa or apartment allows rental income, but also for the owners to enjoy their property on several occasions throughout the year.

There’s a diversity about Majorca that enables the island to attract high numbers of holidaymakers while at the same time drawing the upmarket tourist and celebrities who can find the peace and quiet they want in wonderful surroundings at the same time that others are enjoying a package holiday deal from one of the major tour operators along with tens of thousands of others in the towns and resorts.

Majorca has hundreds of hotel options to choose from, but probably the best for service, standards and luxury is the La Residencia, which is often quoted in the national newspapers in Europe as one of the best hotels in Majorca. Located in Deia, home village to many celebrities, the hotel offers the best of Majorca, close to both the mountains and the Mediterranean.

It’s probably not a question of if Majorca will return as a favourite holidays destination for British, German and other European tourists who make up the vast majority of the island’s visitors, but a question of when – and if the Euro slips in strength in the coming months the British could be booking for a holiday in Majorca for 2009.

Majorca – or Mallorca – will be hoping the British currency revitalises in the coming months!

The Auvergne region in the heart of France covers an area of 26,015 square kilometres and is located

The Auvergne region in the heart of France covers an area of 26,015 square kilometres and is located approximately 4 hours south of Paris and 3 hours from the south coast.

The name derives from the name applied to the region occupied by the ancient Gaulish tribe, the Averni. In fact ‘Vercingatorix’, the leader of the Averni led the Gauls to a great victory over the Romans at ‘Gergovia’ in 52 BC. The ‘Plain de Gergovia’ is located to the south of the Auvergne’s modern capital, Clermont Ferrand and is a popular tourist attraction with a memorial to Vercingatorix, a visitor centre and fine views over the city. The modern Auvergne is comprised of 4 separate departments – the Allier in the north, the Puy de Dome in the centre, the Haute-Loire to the east and the Cantal in the south.

The diversity of the landscape takes in plains, river gorges, crater lakes, plateaux, exceptional flora and fauna and volcanic mountains (now thankfully extinct), and it is this variety which characterises this part of France.

It is no surprise therefore that the Auvergne is one of the great places in Europe for walking. But why just stick to walking? Other activities on offer, in common with most mountainous regions, include ski-ing, cycling (on and off road), orienteering, ballooning, fishing, rock climbing, hang gliding, canoeing, dog sledding – the list is seemingly endless!

The area is home to hundreds of marked paths and trails ranging in difficulty from simple low level walks to more demanding trails for the experienced walker. Many of the walking routes are maintained by volunteer groups who make sure the paths are clear and well signposted.

Many Grand Randonée (GR) routes can be found in the Auvergne. These are long distance paths often arising in other departments of France. One of the most famous and ancient of these is GR65 part of which passes through the Massif Central and onto Le Puy-en-Velay, one of the starting points for one of the four the pilgrim routes leading to the Shrine of St. James at Santiago de Compostella in North West Spain. Designated GR routes are indicated by red and white stripes, often to be found on trees. Shorter walks are often designated as Petite Randonée (PR). Usually circular they are waymarked with single stripes in either blue, yellow, black or green.

The unique volcanic landscape of the Auvergne is a paradise for hill and mountain walkers. Although not as high as the peaks of the Alps or Pyrenees the Auvergne nevertheless offers some stunning scenery with many unspoilt trails catering for the casual rambler to the more serious hiker.

Many of the best walks are found within the areas two regional nature parks. Created in 1977 the ‘Parc Naturel Regional des Volcans d’Auvergne’ covering over 395,000 ha along a north south axis of about 120km/75miles and it’s smaller neighbour the ‘Parc Naturel Régional des Livradois-Forez’ covering 300,000 ha along the line of the Dore valley – make this the largest environmentally protected area in France.

Many plants, not otherwise common in the rest of Europe, can be found here, supported by the fertile volcanic soils. Spring meadows of ‘narcissi’ and ‘alpine daffodils’ can be seen on many walks. Other common plants include ‘gentians’, ’sundews’ and ‘Martagon lilies’. The Auvergne has over 4,500 common and rare species of plants and flower including some forty protected plants.

The climate of the Auvergne ranges from hot, dry summers to harsh, cold winters often with snow on the higher plateaus and peaks. Temperatures average 12 degrees Celsius annually. The winter is best avoided as a time for walking, unless you are prepared to don a pair of snow shoes and trek across the snow covered plains. The rest of the year is ideal for hiking, with the spring and autumn perhaps offering the best conditions for the serious enthusiasts. The deciduous forests display their stunning autumn colours in October and reward the visitor at this time of year.

Almost anywhere in the Auvergne is a good place to walk but some of the principal walking centres of the region are Murat, Saint-Flour, Vic-sur-Cere and Thiézac in the Cantal and La Bourboule, le Mont Dore, St. Nectaire and Besse-en-Chandesse in the de Puy de Dome department.

So if you are an enthusiastic walker and want to discover a relatively unspoilt region of France, head for the Auvergne.

As we age, our skin produces less of the natural oil that helps it retain its moisture. Skin is not

As we age, our skin produces less of the natural oil that helps it retain its moisture. Skin is not dry because it lacks oil, but because it lacks water. Xeroderma literally means “dry skin”.

Skin is considered one of the most important parts of the body. Skin also receives less blood flow and lower gland activity. Skin contains the hair follicles, sweat glands, sebaceous glands, apocrine glands and blood vessels.

Epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin. The epidermis contains no blood vessels, and cells in the deepest layers are nourished by diffusion from blood capillaries extending to the upper layers of the dermis. The dermis is the layer of skin beneath the epidermis that consists of connective tissue and cushions the body from stress and strain.

Nutritional deficiencies, especially deficiencies of vitamin A and the B vitamins, can also contribute to dry skin. Dry skin is common. The skin loses moisture and may crack and peel, or become irritated and inflamed. The oil glands do not supply enough lubrication to the skin: as a result, the skin becomes dehydrated.

Dry your skin gently and thoroughly, patting not rubbing. For any skin condition, it’s always better to take a natural approach. Natural treatment should always be the first type of treatment to consider when you want to take the best care of your skin.

You want to work from the inside out too. The two most common digestive culprits, that affect your skin, are not enough water and not enough fiber.

Drink plenty of water, a minimum of a quart a day. Concentrating on a diet of lots of fruits and vegetables (preferably uncooked) and no junk food, should give you an observable improvement within 30 days. Use olive oil, flaxseed oil or walnut oil in your salad.

Apply coconut oil to heal and soothe your skin. Use bath oils and moisturizers, especially coconut oil, at least daily. Use coconut oil to remove your make-up at night, like I do; it leaves a fine layer of oil to nourish your skin all night long. The best treatment I’ve found for dry skin is coconut oil.

Functions of the skin are disturbed when it is dirty; it becomes more easily damaged, the release of antibacterial compounds decreases and dirty skin is more prone to develop infections. The skin supports its own ecosystems of microorganisms, including yeasts and bacteria, which cannot be removed by any amount of cleaning.

The skin must be regularly cleaned or it’ll become cracked or inflamed.

And did I say to drink lots and lots of water every day! Skin doctors are called dermatologists; hopefully you’ll never need one. Continue using coconut oil and the healing benefits of good, clear skin, free of dryness and other skin conditions should be your reward.
