Countess Dracula is a 1971 Hammer horror film based on the legends surrounding the “Blood Countess” Elizabeth Báthory. It is in many ways atypical of Hammer’s canon, but can be considered related to that studio’s Karnstein Trilogy attempting to broaden Hammer’s output from Dracula and Frankenstein sequels.

The film was produced by Alexander Paal and directed by Peter Sasdy, Hungarian émigrés working in England. The original music score was composed by Harry Robertson.

Ingrid Pitt reprised her role as Countess Elizabeth on the 1998 Cradle of Filth album, Cruelty and the Beast.

Trivia:

• Ingrid Pitt’s voice was dubbed. Supposedly, she was so furious at director Peter Sasdy that she vowed never to speak to him again.
• Countess Dracula was based on Hungarian Countess Erzsebet (our modern day “Elizabeth”) Bathory who lived from 1560 to 1614. Countess Bathory was allegedly responsible for the deaths of approximately 600 virgin girls, all of which involved torture and gruesome methods of killing. Her atrocities are mostly speculation. She is credited for influencing our modern day concept of Dracula as an entity depending on human blood for youth and vitality.

• The picture that appears behind the opening credits is an 1896 painting by Hungarian artist Istvan Csok. It shows the real Countess Bathory enjoying the torture of some young women by her servants. In an inner courtyard of one of her castles, the naked girls are being drenched with water and allowed to freeze to death in the snow.
• Ingrid Pitt replaced Diana Rigg who turned the role down.
• Although cuts were requested by the BBFC (and the film remains listed as cut on their website) the edits were never made following an appeal by Hammer to chief censor Stephen Murphy.

Made it to the brand new bar Rack & Pinz last weekend!

Matt and I were inspired to stop by on Saturday afternoon after finding coupons for a free game of bowling, a free game of pool AND a free order of wings while browsing the Reno News & Review that morning.  I am a girl that just loves coupons.

The Pinz

We rolled in mid-afternoon to a very laid back atmosphere featuring sporty decor, 6 lanes, a slew of billiards tables, biggie wraparound bar and flat screens throughout.  Rack n Pinz reminds me a places I’ve been to in other cities that are bars that happen to have a few lanes versus the other way around (as it is obviously intended to be.)  The staff were all quite friendly, especially our waitress.  I really appreciated that, as my previous experience with the Cadillac Ranch staff (I’ve discovered Rack & Pinz and Cadillac Ranch are sisters) was horrible.  I’m glad this Legends conglomerate is redeeming itself somewhat to me.

82. I blame it on lane 6.

We bowled one game, neither of us breaking 100… Something to note is that we got lane 6–you do not want lane 6.  Because the bowling area is so small in comparison to the entire bar space, the outside lanes are crammed right to the walls.  Therefore, avoid also lane 1.  I maintain that I bowled an 82 soley because with every ball toss down the lane my left hand hit the half wall to my right.

Not wanting to miss the RACK of Rack & Pinz, we redeemed our coupons for billiards and wings and got a couple of games in before we called it an afternoon.  I can now say I HIGHLY recommend all things BBQ at Rack & Pinz–oh my, the BBQ wing sauce was delishish.

To conclude, I hope Rack & Pinz does well! I will fo sho be back! But I make this recommendation to the owners of Cadillac Ranch and Rack & Pinz: Keep the coupons coming–love it…but PLEASE hire an agency and get a marketing strategy.  Your ads are a mess.  You can’t be everything to everyone…And that’s A-okay.

Reno Bowling Series - Rack & Pinz

Update 12/11/09: Went back to Rack & Pinz to grab a drink and play a game of pool after shopping last weekend.  Found out that Rack & Pinz charges (or attempts to charge) patrons $10/hour to play pool.  WTF? We left annoyed without buying anyting.

Hubby and I have been off a day.  Yesterday we thought it was Saturday. 

Last night we met our nephew in Reno for dinner.  He was up for the UNLV/UNR game.  Since he works for UNLV’s athletic department, he travels with the team.  This will be an interesting game, since UNR has lost all their games and UNLV has won 2.  Since they are rival schools, the cannon is the prize.  Reno has had the cannon for the last 4 years.  It is possible that Las Vegas may get the cannon this year.  Too bad the game isn’t going to be televised up here, I’d like to watch it from the warmth of my home.

We wandered to the new outdoor mall, The Legends in Sparks.  Dinner was at The Cadillac Ranch … the guys had a “healthy” (HAH)  burger consisting of blue cheese and bacon and I had the philly cheese steak.  We started with the pulled pork sliders appetizers … food was definately yummy!!  Atmosphere was noisy since they had a mechanical bull and before you ask … no, I did not get on it … although I was extremely tempted!!

After we waddled out of the restaurant and walked to Scheels … holy cow, big big store … since we only had 25 minutes, we didn’t get to wander too much.  A place we’ll have to spend time wandering as well as this mall.  The bad thing is it is on the northeast side of Reno/Sparks and we don’t get that far often.  Then again, it could be a good thing, since they have a Jones New York store and I love their clothes.

We dropped our nephew back at the Nugget in Sparks and made it home by 11pm.  I had to check facebook to see how my son’s custom vinyl toy art show went and it was a huge success.  They had over 400 people show up to check out the art on these toys, enjoy the food and listen to the DJ’s.   Here’s a quick clip of the show … you can see my son to the right of the large QEE toward the end.

One of these days I’ll make it to one of his shows. 

I should be outside doing the yard thing, but it’s cold and it’s supposed to get windy this afternoon.  It makes no sense going out and raking, when after tonight more leaves and twigs will be in the yard.  So I’m going to wait until Monday or Tuesday or maybe even next weekend when it’s back in the 70’s.  I figure next weekend I had better get my bulbs in the ground or in the containers … looks like the cold weather is going to hit sooner than later.  I think this weekend is just a preview of what mother nature has in store for us.  It’s supposed to snow tonight or tomorrow … ugh … I’m not ready for the white stuff!!

So I sit here in my fleece robe all warm and cozy.  There is so much I need to do in the house, but …

The Legends es un grupo de la discográfica sueca Labrador y nadie puede decir que no sea un grupo productivo porque desde que iniciaron su carrera en ell 2003 ya han publicado 3 discos, un buen número de EPs, un single en CD y un siete pulgadas.
No está nada mal para un grupo del que la mayor parte de sus componentes, unos nueve en total, no habia tocado en otros grupos. Excepto el hiperáctivo lider del grupo Johan Angergård que también está en otros grupos que nos encantan , a parte de The Legends, que son Club 8 y Acid House Kings.Y antes de empezar su proyecto con Karolina Komstedt (Club8) estaba en otro grupo llamado Poprace. Asi que cuando se siente melancólico compone para Club 8, cuando se quiere divertir con Acid House Kings y cuando tiene ganas de algo más electrónico con The Legends, y no se que hará con el poco tiempo libre que le quedará…

Siapa tak kenal Celine Dion, penyanyi asal Kanada ini merupakan salah satu artis top dunia yang dikenal pekerja keras. Tercatat, dari tahun 1992 s/d 1996, Celine merekam 6 buah album. Salah satunya album bertajuk “Fallin Into You” yang sukses membanya namanya ke level yang lebih tinggi. Album ini memenangkan Gramy untuk kategori album of the year dan best pop album.

Celine Marie Claudette Dion lahir dan dibesarkan di sebuah kota kecil yang sederhana bernama Charlemagne, di Quebec, Kanada, 30 Maret 1968.

Anak bungsu dari 14 bersaudara ini lahir dari keluarga kelas pekerja, pasangan, Adhemar dan Therese Dion yang juga sangat mencintai musik. Bagi Celine, kedua orang tuannya in adalah figur yang sangat penting dalam perkembangan karir musiknya.

Celine telah mulai bernyanyi diusia 5 tahun menggunakan piano bar milik orang tuanya. Diusai 12 tahun ia telah menulis lagu pertamanya “Ce N’etait Qu’un Rve” (“It Was Only a Dream”) yang kemudia direkam dengan dibantu ibu dan saudara laki-lakinyanya. Salah satu yang mendorong Celine remaja untuk bisa menaklukan pasar musik di AS adalah saat diusia 18 tahun ketika ia menyaksikan penampilan “king of pop” Michael Jackson di televisi. Saat itu juga ia meminta kepada managernya Angelil bahwa ia ingin menjadi seperti Michael Jackson yang mendunia.

Angelil merespons permintaan Celine dengan kemudian memintanya istirahat selama 18 bulan untuk perubahan image, antara lain pada penampilan fisik, termasuk mengikuti les bahasa Inggris yang akan membantunya menembus pasar AS.

Hasilnya mulai terlihat segera, Albumnya bertajuk UNISON ditahun 1990 menghasilkan beberapa hits, tetapi lagu yang hits itu merupakan duetnya dengan Peabo Bryson, termasuk didalamnya soundtrack film Desney, Beauty and The Beast yang meraih posisi pertama tangga lagu Pop AS.

Lagu Beauty and the beast juga memenangkan penghargaan Gramy dan Academy Award. Lagu ini muncul dalam album kedua Celine dalam bahasa Inggris ditahun 1992 bertitel Celine Dion. Sementara Lagu “If You Ask Me Now” dalam album ini juga sukses masuk jajaran top 10 AS.

Dimasa inilah juga terjadi perkembangan menarik dalam kehidupan pribadi Celine Dion, dimana sang manager, Angelil beralih menjadi kekasihnya. Sebenarnya kedekatan keduanya terjadi sejak tahun 1998, namun pasangan yang berbeda usia 26 tahun ini menyembunyikan rahasia itu kepada publik sampai pada pernikahan mereka di tahun 1994 di Notre Dame Basilica Montreal’s.

Di tahun 1996 Celine mendapat kehormatan untuk tampil dalam pembukaan olimpiade di Atlanta “My Hart Will Go On” dari soundtrack film bockbuster “Titanic” menjadi Hits yang diradio-radio disebut sebagai lagu demam titanic yang melanda dunia. Lagu ini kemudian dimasukkan dalam album “Let’s Talk About Love” yang juga mencapai puncak Chart lagu.

Tahun 1971 adalah awal Michael Jackson mulai bersolo karir. Dibawah naungan Motown Recods, Michael merilis single pertamanya bertajuk “Got to Be There” yang langsung menempati posisi lima besar di deretan tangga lagu AS.setehun kemudian di tahun 1972, singglenya “Ben” menempati posisi 1. hanya saja seperti saat masih tergabung dalam The Jackson 5, momentum solo karir Jakson terhenti.

Diawal solo karirnya ini Michael merilis album ke 4 dan terakhirnya dibawah naungan Motown Recods ditahun 1975. Tapi itu semua akan berubah setelah Michael bertemu Quincy Jones, produser yang akan membawanya ke puncak kesuksesan.

Pertema kali Michael bertemu Quincy Jones ditahun 1977 saat ia mendapat peran utama bersama Diana Rose dalam film musical “The Wiz”. Terinspirasi dengan suksesnya album “Destiny” yang diproduksi sendiri ditahun 1978 bersama The Jackson 5, Michael kembali melanjutkan solo karirnya setelah kontraknya dengan sang ayah berakhir.

Dibawah produser Quincy Jones inilah Michael pertama kali merilis album dalam usia dewasa. Quicy JOnes membungkus penampilan Michael dengan campuran musik funky disco-pop, Soul lembut, dan pop ballads yang akhirnya kembali membuat Michael bersinar.

Diawal kerjasamanya dengan Quincy Jones ini, lahir empat top ten hit?s single, termasuk hit’s no. 1 “Don’t Stop’ til You Get Enaught” dan “Rock With You” yang meraih platinum (dua single ini terjual sebanyak 7 juta copy), meski demikian, Michael Jackson tetap tidak meninggalkan grupnya “The Jackson 5″ yang saat itu telah berubah nama menjadi “Jackson’s”.

Hits paling mencuat dalam solo karir Michael Jackson adalah dalam album Thriller, meski saat pertama kali dirilis tahun 1982, tidak ada tanda-tanda sedikitpun jika album yang ini bakal menjadi album yang terlaris sepanjang masa.

Dalam Album ini, Quincy Jonesa, sang produser mempertahankan elemen yang membuat album solo karis pertama Jackson dibawah naungannya sukses, yaitu gabungan antara gerak tari, mosuk rock, dan tune pop dan ballad yang lebih lembut dan soulfull, yang dikenal sebagai trandmark-nya Michael Jakcson.

Dengan materi album seperti itu memang tidak mengherankan jika album Triller meraih sukses, tapi yang lebih mencengangkan lagi adalah ketahanan album tersebut ditangga lagu.

“The Girl Is Mine” duet Jackson dengan Paul McCartney berhasil menempati posisi dua tangga lagu AS, kemudian “Billy Jean” dan lagu yang didalamnya diisi gitaris Eddy Van Hallen “Beat It” berhasil meraih posisi pertama ditangga lagu dalam waktu tujuh bulan dan empat minggu.

Dalam “Billy Jean” dan “Beat It”‘ Jackson mengelaborasikannya dengan video klip yang kemudian melahirkan revolusi dalam pembuatan vidio musik. Untuk lagu “Billy Jean” Jackson membuatnya menjadi film musical tentang anti kekerasan geng. Selain itu Jackson membuat vidio klip berdurasi 10 menit lebih untuk “Triller” yang kemudian didaulat menjadi vidio klip terbaik sepanjang masa.

Ditahun 1983, Jackson pertama kali memperkenalkan gaya yang menjadi trademarknya berjalan di bulan atau “Moonwalker” pada ulang tahun ke 25 Motown Record yang disiarkan langsung di televisi. Meski sebenarnya Jackson bukan penemu gaya “Moonwalker” itu sendiri.

There have been no new posts on major label debut in over six months. Why? To keep details to a minimum,  I took a new job in New York City without much notice, moved in early April, and have been living in Brooklyn ever since. I’ve been busy working, exploring, drinking, and doing the most cliché hipster activities that you can imagine, which has made my sarcasm and inability to take anything seriously reach their climax. Even so, I have somehow finally have found enough balance to be creative and patient at the same time, so there will be several posts per week from this point on.

Anyway.

Since April, I’ve been lucky enough to see shows of bands that sparsely tour and were never possible to see in Minneapolis, where I had lived for the last five years. Here are some highlights:

1. Jarvis Cocker, former leader of Pulp, at Music Hall of Williamsburg was the biggest highlight. He is my hero, and not because he handled his microphone more phallically than Karen O.

2. The first US shows in three years from The Legends at the Bell House and at Santos Party House. I had to go by myself and there was barely anyone at either night. However, there was a really, really short photographer at Santos, and he scurried away to the bar in the middle of the show, returning seconds later with a stool. He placed directly in front of Johan Angergård, climbed his way to the top and then snapped pictures for several minutes, mere inches from Johan’s face. I laughed uncontrollably even though I was alone, and this attracted several awkward stares, which are always tiny victories that I cherish and keep to myself.

3. I’ve seen San Francisco’s GIRLS four times in the last two months. Their debut LP, Album, will be released on September 22, and it is going to get very good reviews. I’m calling Best New Music, even though I like to avoid thinking in that vein. I’m willing to bet on it, so leave a comment if you want. This can be a fun new game called Hipster Horserace.

6. Handsome Furs two nights in a row. I ruptured my right eardrum the second night. There was blood, itching, and pain the next day, and messed it up again a few weeks later at Death by Audio during a Shilpa Ray show.

7. Several Blank Dogs shows, who rarely leave NYC and only started performing live in 2009 after years of releasing records. They’ve added an attractive female keyboard player since the last time I saw them, which finally gives me something to look forward in my life if I see them again.

* “So Come Back, I Am Waiting” is a sad song for sad-sacks by the sometimes sad Okkervil River from their sad 2005 album, Black Sheep Boy, which is one of my favorite (sad) albums of this decade. I used to listen to it all the time, even when I wasn’t sad, but then it made me too sad eventually, especially because of the sad and desperate final lines after the sad horn bridge section at the end. Try it. Sad? Sad.

Cadillac Ranch celebrated its grand opening at The Legends in Sparks on Friday, August 7.  After dinner and hitting Hot August Nights (ie-Freezing Cold August Nights in 2009!) we thought we’d swing by the area’s newest bar to check it out.  A bunch of our friends we already there and I’m generally a big fan of new places.

Oops. Spelling Error.

Cadillac Ranch was immediately, and I mean IMMEDIATELY, disappointing.  They apparently think that they are worthy of charging cover (really? Cadillac Ranch is just a bar…and there was no band…?) for patrons to enter their sidewalk gate. Only to have to stand at the bar for 15+ minutes waiting for one of the many snobby bartenders to even acknowledge my presence.  The kicker was that at around 17 minutes I received my check, but still hadn’t received our drink order.  Cadillac Ranch…really?

Being that we had to wait such a long time for the first drink, we didn’t bother going after another and were gone within the hour.  It was fun to see some friends and take a look at people riding the mechanical bull, but good customer service is what would bring me back to Cadillac Ranch, and they definitely came up very, very short.

I am, however, looking forward to checking out Rack & Pinz next door to Cadillac Ranch, and to the Forever 21 opening!

So many choices, so little to choose from. In the past couple of weeks, that has been my mantra. Nothing out there has really grabbed me by my throat and shaken me up. But when you combine the last couple of weeks with this week…you got some decent tunage out there for your listening enjoyment. So without further adieu…in the immortal words of the Black Eyed Peas…let’s get it started!

Imogen Heap – “First Train Home”
I really enjoyed Imogen’s last album and this first track off the upcoming album called “Ellipse” is very promising! She’s not reinventing the wheel here, but I think it shows that she has got her sh#t together for this next body of work!

A Place To Bury Strangers – “Don’t Think Lover”
At first listen, you’re gonna think I’m totally insane. But once you get past the powerblast at the beginning, this track grows on you like old time My Bloody Valentine. Oh yeah…and then there’s the powerblast in the middle also. Good fun!

The Daysleepers – “Release The Kraken”
Speaking of My Bloody Valentine, here’s another band that specializes in reverb and steal heavily from the early 90’s. But this is much more melodic than A Place To Bury Strangers, who just clobber you with drums and feedback. This has a bit more texture and is more pop driven. I like it!

The Queen Killing Kings – “This Night”
Strong piano supports this track. It’s haunting and sad and very good. Reminds me of a lonely shadow, drifting through a dark street.

The Legends – “Something Strange Will Happen”
In the same sort of vein as Jesus & Mary Chain, except more low key. I also downloaded “Jump”. Both are excellent and remind me of Death Cab For Cutie.

The Dandy Warhols – “We Used To Be Friends”
I love this band! And they have taken an old album and remixed it. Well…actually there is a long backstory to it and you can check that out on ITunes as well. I’m just gonna say that this track is awesome and you need to go download it right now. Just sayin’…

Stardeath and White Dwarfs – “New Heat”
This track SHOULD be a hit on alternative radio everywhere. Dunno if anyone has ever heard of this band, but this track is most excellent! Apparently they have travelled with The Flaming Lips. Who knew?

Holly Williams – “Keep The Change”
Hey look! A country song on here? Yep. I like this track and with all the pretty young girls that have diluted the genre, this is a nice change of pace. It’s still a pop song…don’t care what anyone says. Country pop. That’s what it is…

Arctic Monkeys – “Crying Lightning”
I don’t know what to think of this song. I’m not a Monkey’s fan, but something about this song drags me in. I would put this one in Modest Mouse territory and there’s this odd lilt to the whole song. Interesting…

Doughtry – “What I Meant To Say”
Well…this is exactly what I thought this album would sound like. Absolutely as generic as you can get. Which is to bad because I totally thought this guy ROCKED on American Idol! However none of the songs are any different from any of the other tracks. They all sound the same! Amazing! If you must, this single ain’t so bad. But it is vanilla…that’s for sure.

My electronica track for the week. ITunes has “Fireflies” for free this week, and with Postal Service cornering this kind of music, I thought I would give a different song off the album a chance as well…and I wasn’t disappointed! Actually…I thought maybe it WAS Postal Service. But no…

This One DID Disappoint Me Song Of The Week: Paramore – “Ignorance”
I know…it’s pop rock for teenage boys who think the lead singer is hot, but I actually really enjoyed Paramore’s last album. So I had high hopes for this new album which is scheduled to be released in September. However this first track is kinda lame. I hope the rest of the album is better!

Album I Should Be Standing In Line To Buy But I Just Don’t Get It: The Dead Weather – “Horehound”
Jack White’s new ensemble group sounds like it should be all the rage. With members from The Kills, Queens Of The Stone Age and the White Stripes, this should be awesome! But alas…after checking out the snippets, I couldn’t really find any tracks I thought were killer. It all sounds like it is straight from the 70’s, with fuzzy blues guitar and screetching guitars. I guess this sort of has run its course for my tastes. I really want Jack to come out with something more melodic. More along the vein of Dave Grohl with the Foo Fighters. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of critics saying I’ve lost my marbles when I actually say I like Owl City and then bash The Dead Weather, but the truth is I had higher hopes. But I’m sure it will sell very well.

Album I should Hate But Has Grown On Me: Rob Thomas – “Cradlesong”
Yeah…I bashed it. Then my wife said she liked a song off it so I bought it for her. And then I got listening to it and ya know what? I kinda like it. Good summer pop from a guy who knows what the public likes. It ain’t Matchbox 20, but it leaves me with a vanilla flavor in my mouth that isn’t unpleasant. So for now…that is good enough!

Er komt precies geen einde aan de vrijgevigheid van Labrador, want nu wordt met ‘You Won’ al een derde nummer van het nieuwe album van The Legends weggegeven als mp3. ‘You Won’ is de opener van het sublieme ‘Over And Over’. Een song die ik in een nogal wazige bui een kruising noemde tussen oude Cure en trage Pet Shop Boys. Voor alle duidelijkheid: ik zat niet aan de paddenstoelen toen ik dat schreef. In ieder geval: er staan twaalf nummers op ‘Over And Over’ en het openingstrio kan je dus geheel gratis binnenhalen. Nog negen te gaan en je hoeft het album niet meer te kopen. Maar ik zou het toch gewoon doen.

K-OS

First up is from Canadian indie hip-hop artist Kheaven Brereton aka K-OS .

I came across K-os after the release of his last 07′ LP…”Atlantis” and I loved it! So today, while skimming around the web for music, I got it in my head to check for any new work from Kheaven…and happily came upon his 4th and latest LP “YES!”, so I snatched it up.
I’ll be honest, it’s rare that I look around for hip-hop in general but K-OS is one of those that stand out to me because of his masterful creation of songs…each with their own unique qualities. Some have a the sound of the blues, some have a touch of Jazz and some have taste of Reggae, but all…very good.

Check out this song called “Zambony”, my favorite so far.

The Hampdens

This is indie pop trio The Hampdens from Perth, Australia – named after Hampden College in Donna Tartt’s novel “The Secret History”, which I find interesting as the book (I learned) focuses on a group of college kids embroiled in a pagan cult. (?)
This next song, titled “Croupier”, is off their EP of the same name just recently released in the US.
I don’t know much about this band but wanted to post this because I really love the natural and slightly gritty vocals of Susannah Legge.
If you like this song, I recommend checking out more as the EP contains 3 other very nice tracks.

with their newest incarnation “Over and Over”.
As you can guess, I am enamored with The Legends. Even though some of their work can ride the line between being down right irritating (because of the white noise they thrust into a few of their tracks) to exquisitly beautiful and soothing – I can’t seem to turn them off.

Canyon Country

Ok folks, here’s another one of those “new to me” additions.
This album by the mysterious band Canyon Country came out in the ancient days of 05′. I say mysterious because I can’t find a single word on these guys/gals/animals/aliens – save that their from Van Nuys, California.
If anyone out there can offer some info, I would much appreciate it.
At any rate this is album is FANTASTIC. Perfect for a warm evening, laying on the hood of your car star gazing…event. Beautifully done and calm on the ears.
I only wish there were more.
This track is off their album “There’s a Forest in the Fire” called “Safe”.

Hej hej! Als je om God weet welke reden ‘Over and Over’ van The Legends nog steeds niet hebt aangeschaft, dan heb ik nieuws voor je. Er werd een tweede single uit dat album geplukt en die single is gratis te downloaden bij Labrador. Het gaat om ‘Always The Same’. Je kent het recept: een streep withete noise over een mier- en mierzoete melodie. De tweede stem is van Liane Moccia, ooit nog zangeres van Tralala. Briljant. 

The Legends – Always The Same

I have taken to spending the last few moments of the night to scanning my music blogs for new tunes for the morning commute into work. Last night, I came across The Legends’ Over and Over, and despite their name, I hadn’t heard of them before. This is a good chill out record. Not ambient-chill out, but, more, like, “I’m not in the mood for anything abrasive and could actually go for something that sounds a bit 80’s Cure-ish but not as moody and better produced. Maybe something like the Cure mixed with Silversun Pickups…or something.” Good times. MySpace / Last.FM

Labrador release The new Legends album Over & Over on May 6th 2009. The press blurb states:

The single “Seconds away” was described as ‘The noisiest pop single to ever come out of Sweden’ when it was released this winter and created a huge buzz worldwide – staying at no.1 at Elbo.ws for nearly three weeks! “Over and over” is a brilliantly modern mix of white noise, 60’s girls pop, indie, ambient and krautrock. The Legends are one Johan Angergård who is a bit (no pun intented) a legend on the indie pop scene being a founder member of Acid House Kings, Club 8 and the cult Swedish label Labrador Records. The last time I looked there was nothing by the label although strangely The Legends Single from last year has turned up. Hopefully it’s the first of many releases from Labrador to appear on Spotify.
