Well, here we go again, PETA has taken the spot light with yet another provocative and controversial ad campaign. This time instead of going for their usual like comparing photos of farms and processing plants with nazi concentration camps, they have instead embarked on a series of nude ads depicting various celebrities such as Dancing With the Stars contestent and Playboy model Joanna Krupa.

I personally don’t like PETA. I believe that they are a terrorist organization lead by a horse-faced b*tch who should go back to England or where ever she came from and stay there.

I dislike them for many reason, mainly because they want to take away my prized food, steak. But also because they are a terrorist organization. Even if they don’t directly commit terrorist acts, they do help terrorists by supporting them, giving them funds, shelter and so forth. They don’t condem violence in the many protests that they organize and they inspire almost zeal belief in their “cause”.

But that is not the point of this post! The point of this post is that this ad really offends me. Why? Because I was raised Catholic and still am a Catholic and I have never seen any naked Playboy models at my church. Maybe if there were, I’d go more often. I believe that PETA should be cited for false advertisement!

It also says something about an organization that claims to have high morals. After all they have the word “Ethical” in their name. Perhaps these kind of ads are just showing how desperate for support and attention they are. Maybe this is the sign of the beginning of the end for them, and Ingrid Newkirk is looking at ORBITZ for a flight home right this very second…

One could only hope.

Lately there have been a stream of posts in blogs and on news sites about Tiger Woods having a motorvehicle accident outside his home and having an affair of some kind with a woman named Rachel Uchitel. I’ll be honest while I’ve seen many of these posts the only ones I’ve actually read were in regards to the motorbehicle accident.

According to the many reports, he was leaving his home in his 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle when he just spontaneously ran over a fire hydrant and hit a tree for reasons unknown. The low impact crash knocked him unconcious somehow, supposedly because the air bags didn’t deploy (which, if it was a low impact crash, isn’t surprising).

Reports then indicate that his wife “heard” the crash, ran out with a golf club, smashed in a rear window, and then pulled him back out of the vehicle somehow to lay in the street bleeding until emergency personel arrived. He had both lacerations and bruising to his face along with blood in his mouth.

Now, I don’t know how many of you have seen Tiger Woods’ wife lately, Elin Nordegren, but she doesn’t look the type of gal who can drag a 185 lb. man backwards out of a vehicle through glass.

Yeah… it sounds kind of odd. He just randomly drives over a hydrant and into a tree, and she just comes running out with a gold club?

I believe that what really probably happened after examing the incident was that the couple had an arguement, Woods’ was trying to get away from his wife when she came running out after him in the vehicle with a golf club. She smashed the rear window and he crashed in his attempts to evade her. He probably recieved some of his facial injuries like the lacerations before the crash and then some as it happened, but his wife probably gave him a good one upside the head as he got out, giving him the bloody mouth, bruising and knocking him out.

I just can’t figure that he got most of his injuries from the crash. In a 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle they have some pretty descent safety features. If the impact was so low that the airbags didn’t deploy, I find it hard to believe that it would have knocked him out.

He hasn’t commented much I believe on the incident, only stating that it was a “private” matter. And if I were him, getting the sh*t kicked out of me by my wife with one of my own golf clubs would make me not talk either. And if you have to ask me why they were fighting, my guess would be his supposed mistress. Or maybe he’s just a jackass and she’d had enough of him.

Most of this is just speculation on my part, but if I’m interpreting the evidence correctly (the odd driving, the wife running out with a golf club and the details of the accident), I think I’m probably right.

I am taking a break from Castle Crashers (of which you shall undoubtedly be hearing more later) to post THE NEWS. It appears that goofy Scot stick insect Andy Murray has been given the old heave-ho by his fancy lady. I know! Pressingly important. I bet you’re glad you dashed to EDR this afternoon, or you might never have known. What is interesting though is her reasoning – the tennis superstar was thrown over not because he’s clearly an unlovely arrogant berk, but rather because he spends seven hours a day playing videogames. Seven! You’ll never get to Icecrown Citadel with that kind of pathetic investment, Andy.

But of course, it’s not World of Warcraft that Andy is playing. It’s CODMODWAR2, natch. Tennis pros aren’t up to thinking for themselves, y’see. Suddenly the whole situation is more understandable. I’d be in a severely dumping mood if my SO felt the urge to spend seven hours a day playing a game so drab and uninspired. In fact, I sympathise with the young lady – the months that the Slag took fighting desperately through Zelda: Phantom Hourglass were dark days for all concerned. Anyway, this means if you’re a PS3 or XBOX THREEHUNNERDSIXTY playa, you may have fragged Andy Murray. A possible brush with greatness. Maybe. I suggest you go around claiming you have, and that his ladyfriend was so impressed with your mad sk1llz that she dumped him and shacked up with you instead.

Proving that there’s no depth to which they won’t sink in their campaign of hate against British Muslims, the Stop Islamisation of Europe (SIOE) group has sent emails to British Jews encouraging them to attend the demonstration in front of Harrow mosque on December 13th.

The Jewish Chronicle, which also received the SIOE email, reports that the Community Security Trust (CST) has warned British Jews against joining the anti-Muslim demo.

SIOE has circulated an email telling Jews to bring Israeli flags to fly on the day, saying it aims to attract 1,000 Jews to the demonstration.

The SIOE website states:

“If you do not attend this demonstration then you are prepared to see Israel wiped off the map.

“Vile antisemitism is being preached in mosques across the world and almost certainly the one in your neighbourhood.”

The SIOE website also features an image of a mosque with a skull in an army helmet and a minaret dripping with blood (above).

The CST has cautioned Jews against taking any part in the SIOE’s contemptible campaign. The CST blog notes:

“This image tells us everything we need to know about SIOE and Islamophobia.

“If a Jew cannot understand why the image is racist, or hateful, or bigoted then they should try imagining it as a synagogue: with blood dripping from a Star of David; with blood dripping down the rabbi’s pulpit; and with blood dripping from the mouth of a skull that wears an Israeli army helmet.”

“It generates votes for the BNP and, at the furthest ends of this political spectrum, it even provides the fuel for terrorism. British Jews should have no part of it.”

The CST’s commendable advice is strongly welcomed for its denying the SIOE an opportunity to drive a wedge between faith communities in Britain and engage in cheap politicking. As we’ve noted before, in the battle against far right racist groups, Muslims and Jews should be natural allies.

He said the persons involved in the recent act of terrorism went to India thrice for training, adding that labelling Punjab as a training camp for terrorists was part of a propaganda against the provincial government. He was talking to journalists after the passing out ceremony of 756 rescuers, including six female rescuers, of 10th batch at the Emergency Services Academy, Shama Chowk. Demonstrations of emergency rescue of mass casualties due to explosion and fire, emergency management of victims and firefighting were also arranged during the ceremony. The law minister attended the ceremony on behalf of Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif as the chief guest. He appreciated the spirit and service of Rescue1122 and announced establishing the service in remaining 24 districts of the province. He asked for recommendations for regularising the staff of the service. The guest of honour Federal Minister for Social Welfare and Special Education Samina Khalid Ghurki said Rescue 1122 would be extended to the rural areas on pilot basis. She also announced launching of the Peoples Rural Health Ambulance Service on the occasion. The officials told the guests that the cadets had been given specialized trade-specific training, including rescue, emergency medical treatment and firefighting. Before final posting, the emergency staff would move on to the emergency departments of teaching hospitals to understand the patients shifting protocol.

Monday morning and the world seems pretty much the same.

• Tiger Woods seeks privacy (Good luck with that)
• Our military seems to have let Osama bin Laden slip through their fingers (Politics involved?)
• The debt of Dubai World is not guaranteed by the government (Tremors in the market)
• The nation awaits an announcement of possible troop increases and/or the setting of a withdrawal date in Afghanistan (Weary)
• The Guardian newspaper likens the Afghan war effort to the incompetency of World War One generals and statesmen (I did not know there is no joint US/Nato command in Afghanistan!) and that 9/11 was an intentional “lure” to get us into the quagmire of the Afghan mountains (History repeats itself)
• In Switzerland a referendum has banned the construction of minarets on Islamic masjids but a banker there says it won’t hurt business (Phew)
• Sarah Palin is on the brink of selling 5000,000 books (I thought people didn’t read any more)
• The Irish have asked FIFA if they can be an “extra” team in the World Cup, following the hand-ball incident in their loss to France (“Extra”?)
• The man responsible for gunning down four police while they were drinking coffee is now cornered in a Washington State house (This is good)

If you are at all like me (heaven forbid, you may say!) you imagine waking up and being hit over the head with some “good” news.  It’s not that I want to be an ostrich and stick my head in the sand to ignore danger and disaster (if indeed that is what those odd birds do.) On the contrary, I look out wide-eyed across the expansive horizon of “what’s happening now” and try to take it all in.

But those wide eyes see more than “current events.” In this blog I seek to offer “comments on life from faith and faith from life.” So, yesterday I saw so much more than the good-news-barren landscape of “the news.”

• I left church and, as always, was lifted by what I had heard and seen, the touch of transcendent hope and real power
• I was embraced in the hugs of a granddaughter and, as always, was thus buoyed by tangible waves of love and acceptance
• I helped my son buy a Christmas tree and fretted with him as he sought to get it standing straight in its place in the corner and, as always, was flooded with a sense of belonging, of being-in-the world-as-it-ought-to-be
• I admired my daughter-in-law’s determination in hanging outdoor lights along the edges of their roof and, as always, marveled at the rich variety of the human capacity for joy
• I lazed around the Sunday afternoon house, thought about doing some yard work (!), watched some football and a movie, ate supper, and did some dishes, all this with my wife and, as always, in her saw the one I need in order to be myself.

Open your eyes. There is a lot of good news to be seen.

We have entered Advent, the time of preparation for Christmas. It’s a time, if you like, to get used to using our eyes. We sure do not want to miss it, to have the peace which passes understanding pass us by.

There are not many answers this morning.

I am thinking of the Tiger Woods accident. The news of it broke late last night and accounts were “incomplete” and/or “inadequate” and questions abound:

• Where was he going at 2:30 A.M.?
• OK, no alcohol was involved, the police say, so how did he hit a fie hydrant just at the end of his driveway? It’s been there for ages presumably.
• How did he hit the hydrant and a tree?
• Why did his wife use a golf club and not another set of keys  to smash the rear window?
• How did she “get him out?” How did she “get in?” Any cuts on her from one of those millions of pieces of little window glass?
• Had husband and wife had some kind of “fight?”
• What is the nature of the “charges pending?”

These are interesting questions.

But, are they legitimate? Do we, the public, have a right to the answers?

If you think we do on what basis do you stand? Tiger is not an elected official. He is not accountable to “us.”  We may admire him to the extent of thinking he somehow belongs to us, his fans and the public in general, but this is not really so.

Many celebrities crave attention. Receiving it in fact guarantees their marketability. Not so in Tiger’s case. He has always been super private and what makes him marketable is his talent and skill.

It strikes me that this case is the quintessential example of “the right to privacy” of the public person. His injuries are to his face, literal and symbolic, and thus that part of him we know, golfing, should not be impacted. Thus, while there are interesting questions swirling about it all, we have no right to answers. If he chooses to give them, so be it. Otherwise, wish him a speedy recovery.

I decided to add a new banner and switch up the blog layout a bit. Here’s the photo from my banner, it’s a 1:18 scale 1949 split window bug. I’m also looking into redoing my actual website, something new for 2010.

Well, while the Secret Service is still taking it’s time to determine weither or not they are going to file charges against Michael and Tareq Salahi, they have at least been caught in one lie thus far. They have previously stated that they did not come into contact with the president, but this photo released by the White House has proven that statement false (that lie alone could land them in jail big time).

The Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan stated that his agency failed to verify whether the couple was invited to the party and expressed his concern and embarrassment. He went on to say that measures have been taken to ensure this will not happen again.

Of course, using Facebook, the couple’s lawyer stated simply that they were cleared by the White House to be at the party.

And of course, I seriously doubt that statement simply because he stated it on Facebook. I would have arrested Michael alone for wearing that dress, which I think some folks could consider insulting for obvious reasons.

Few days ago, a stunning report was published by Pakistani’s widely circulated newspaper which read:

“Pakistani and Afghan jehadi groups have decided to start “battle of evil and just”, as the Afghan fighters assured Pakistani militants of complete support in their fight against Pak army in South Waziristan.

According to sources, it was decided in a meeting of the commanders of al-Qaeda, Hakmatyar group, Afghan Taliban and Pakistani jehadi organisations, which was held in Afghanistan.

The meeting decided that the Pakistan security forces, which have been helping the American forces, would also be targeted and the Afghan fighters, who have been fighting in Afghanistan for the last eight years, for the first time decided to send manpower to Waziristan in support of Pakistan militants.”

Bill Moyers isn’t happy in retirement.  He admits he has no “retirement skills”, such as playing golf or bridge.  So instead he “works” by speaking to President Obama about the dangers of Afghanistan turning into a quagmire.  After all, Moyers witnessed firsthand how LBJ turned Vietnam into a quagmire.  Here’s what he said at the beginning of his television special:

“Our country wonders this weekend what is on President Obama’s mind,” Moyers began, at the opening of a remarkable hour of television (click here for the transcript). “He is apparently about to bring months of deliberation to a close and answer General Stanley McChrystal’s request for more troops in Afghanistan. When he finally announces how many, why, and at what cost, he will most likely have defined his presidency, for the consequences will be far-reaching and unpredictable. As I read and listen and wait with all of you for answers, I have been thinking about the mind of another president, Lyndon B. Johnson.”

I find this typical of the baby-boomer mindset.  They were defined by the Vietnam War, and it was then the Baby Boomer journalist discovered that if they control information, they can influence public opinion and ultimately, policy.  They follow the example of Cronkite and his erroneous declaration that the Tet Offensive was a major defeat to the United States.  (In actuality, the Tet Offensive was a military failure, as the Viet Cong could not secure any objective they captured.  But the propaganda value they secured in the American News Media gave them a public relations victory.)

Moyers is now comparing Afghanistan to Vietnam, and he warns Barack Obama that Afghanistan can easily turn into another Vietnam.  Of course, any war can “turn into another Vietnam” if it’s not run correctly.  The US military in 1967 had been operating under the assumption that their enemies would fight in a conventional fashion, like the Chinese armies in Korea or the Axis armies in WWII.  Of course, conventional strategies were a mistake, and our military has spent much time developing new strategies to prevent a quagmire as seen in Vietnam.

Gen. Petraeus’ COIN strategy in Iraq seems to have worked very well.  US casualties are very low, and the Iraqi military seems to have a handle on insurgents.  Nobody in the media talks about Iraq any more because it’s widely considered a success.

And this brings us back to Bill Moyers, who thinks Afghanistan will be a “quagmire”.  In an interview in April of 2007, Moyers said the same thing– but about Iraq:

And this was happening all over again. George W. Bush, in denial—I think in denial—has been making many of the same mistakes that led us into Vietnam. And Iraq has become a quagmire like Vietnam, because, as I said earlier, you can’t keep asking young men and women to die for a lie, because that’s not the way you win the support of the nation. And when Harry Reid said the war is not winnable, I thought of Vietnam. No matter how much we said or the government said—I had left in early ‘67—that there was hope around the corner, the casualty count, both here and in Vietnam, was undermining the case. And that’s what’s happening in Iraq now.

Evidently Moyers can’t analyze beyond the experiences that shaped him.  He claimed Iraq to be a quagmire.  However, now that it’s not, he’s changed his meme from Iraq to Afghanistan.  So long as he’s in the public spotlight, Moyers is going to claim any military action is going to be like the quagmire of Vietnam.  He needs to realize that the world has evolved, unlike his mindset.

The end of this program is especially interesting, where he warns Obama to not make the same mistakes LBJ did.  His final lines are especially ironic.

And once again, the loudest case for enlarging the war is being made by those who will not have to fight it, who will be safely in their beds while the war grinds on. And once again, a small circle of advisers debates the course of action, but one man will make the decision.

We will never know what would have happened if Lyndon Johnson had said no to more war. We know what happened because he said yes.

Well, Bill, we will never know what happened in 2007 if Bush had not committed to the Surge.  We know what happened because he did.  I just wish you remembered what happened 2 years ago, Mr. Moyers.

So, let me see if I get this correctly.  We cannot interrogate subversives and terrorists when we have them in custody.  We cannot gain any intel from those who want to kill us.  Putting women’s panties on the head of a captured terrorist is considered torture and our men and women in uniform must be prosecuted, stripped of rank and incarcerated for the act.

The Border Patrol cannot protect themselves against illegal aliens who are trying to kill them.  The military cannot protect themselves against terrorists who want to kill them because there might be civilians in the area.  Police officers cannot draw their weapons when threatened.

America, once the most respected country in the world, is now the laughing stock of every nation and group that wishes to do us harm.    And we are allowing ourselves the opportunity to be hurt.  Our enemies are using the political correctness of our government against us.  The more we let them, the stronger they are and the weaker we become.  They laugh at us; we try to “make nice” with them causing them to only laugh even harder.

Most recently, three Navy SEALS captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq.  Ahmed Hashim Abed masterminded the mutilation and hanging of security guards in Fallujah.  He was captured and told military investigators that his captors punched him.  Nobody witnessed the brutality that allegedly took place after he was confined, but Abed had a bloody lip so the SEALS, who should be commended for doing their job, will instead be court-martialed.  Abed might have done it himself knowing how timid we are now.

Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean (U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents) were sentenced to 11 and 12 years for doing their job.  They did their job; they went to jail.  The smuggler was granted a border pass and allowed to come and go at will until he was finally arrested for another drug smuggling operation.

Police officers are shot and killed in the line of duty daily because they hesitate to pull their weapons for fear of losing their jobs or their freedom.

Our government is prosecuting its own defenders in order to appease our enemies and outlaws.  The people we elect keep stealing our money for their own foolish self-aggrandizement.  CAIR continues to receive tax-exempt donations that they forward to Hezbollah, Hamas and Al Qaeda.  Our Constitution has been declared unconstitutional and the President of the United States still hasn’t identified himself.  How long can we honestly expect this nation last?

Tareq and Michaele Salahi were not apparently invited to the First State Dinner at the White House on Tuesday night. The state dinner included a number of Hollywood celebrities, important political figures and the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh. But apparently this reality TV couple from virginia felt they should have been invited too. So they just waltz right up to the gates, through the security devices and right on passed the Secret Servicemen stationed there.

Assassins can’t get anywhere near to our president or other important figures, but these two nobodies from The Real Housewives of DC can somehow. It just boggles the mind to think of all the things and people which could have gotten passed our security, it was these two people?

There just aren’t any words that can convey just how… it just… what the f*ck?

I’m not a huge fan of Obama, I’d like to make that clear right here. But to think of all the people who’d like to kill the guy (and of course there are, theres always been at least one guy who wanted to kill any of our presidents) they can’t get near to him because of all the security they’d have to go through. They’d need a plan straight from God, or some otherwordly source, to make it work almost. But these two less than appealing people (in my opinion) can get right up into the same space as our President without a hitch? They probably didn’t even have a plan. They probably just figured “hey, everyone else is going, why don’t we?”

Hell, I don’t want to kill our president, I have a clean background, I was born in the states and have lived here all my life with an upstart job. But even I couldn’t get anywhere near to the guy.

I would hope that someone (Tarek and Michaele Salahi) go to jail and someone (the Secret Service agents who let them through) get fired. On the one hand it’s impressive they got in, but on the other it pisses me off because of all the people who got through it had to be them? No, I’m not disapointed because they weren’t assassins. I just wish the people who snuck through were just a bit more interesting than this couple.

Two men from China were reported to have been executed Tuesday for their roles in the tainted milk scandal that had left six babies dead and over 300,000 others ill. While these two were sentenced to death, most of the other 21 tried people were sentenced to just 15 years in prison.

That just goes to show, don’t mess with the Chinese, but really don’t mess with their milk!

I’ve had a Redbubble profile for awhile now after I got creative with a few photos. I’m really not a pen & paper or mouse & screen artist but I figured; Hey, why not throw up a few designs and see what happens? Perhaps I should upload some photos on there as well, hmm? For now let me get to the point of this post; I’ve had yet another sale of my ®2 shirt! This was a design I ended up with after shooting a photo of an old R2D2 character with my iPhone and mashing it about in photoshop. I set up a Redbubble profile all in good fun not really expecting anything so I’m stoked to see another person out there dug the shirt enough to make a purchase.
