<h4><em>“For the unlearned, old age is winter; for the learned it is the season of the harvest.” -The Talmud</em></h4>
<div><a href="http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm317/vickiemccolley/autumnal_mccolley.jpg" target="_blank"><img style="border:0 currentColor;" title="Autumnal Wind" src="http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm317/vickiemccolley/autumnal_mccolley.jpg" alt="Autumnal Wind" width="400" height="301" border="0" /></a></div>
<p><strong>Autumnal Wind</strong></p>
<p>Clay ovens are earth;</p>
<p>Terracotta bowls;</p>
<p>Buried inside the ground;</p>
<p>Warming from darkness…</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>Seasons harvesting;</p>
<p>Fermentations begin;</p>
<p>Inside rustic kilns;</p>
<p>Our dough rises…</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>Set with wet cloths;</p>
<p>The yeast swells;</p>
<p>Warms the soul;</p>
<p>Kneading begins…</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>Fritters deep fried;</p>
<p>Inside cast irons;</p>
<p>Fresh churned butter;</p>
<p>We picked fruit kernels;</p>
<p>Black raspberries for jam…</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>Horned goats are milked;</p>
<p>Tapioca is made fresh;</p>
<p>The hen house is quiet;</p>
<p>Eggs are in our basket…</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>The rooster cocks crow;</p>
<p>Wild boars are penned;</p>
<p>Shelves are neatly stocked;</p>
<p>Autumnal wind breaks limbs&#8230;</p>
<p>&#160;</p>
<p>…Winter arrives soon</p>
