“Our aim is to inspire and educate and relate to each other in

“Global intelligence for all. peace, prosperity and abundance.”

Joy in Spirit

Hello and welcome,

Are you filled with Spirit. For a lot of us this is the season. We send
the gift of Spirit to all. We wish u all the best this holiday season. It
will be full of glad tidings and joy for those who believe in peace and
goodwill to others.

Are u ready? Are you filled with Spirit yet? Let it be. U are deserving
of this gift so freely given. Opportunities are usually few and far between.
Will u take advantage of this opportunity? Allow Spirit to fill u so u can
share with others the most precious gift of all, peace and understanding.

Forgiveness from the heart and passionate empathy are also great gifts to
share with others. Family, friends and others all deserve Spirit in their
hectic lives. It is a season of free will and peace. Take the time u
deserve to get in touch with those u haven’t seen or heard from in awhile.

Enjoy the precious gift of time to spend with others. It is the most valuable
gift there is. So be generous and share yours with those in need of a little
extra attention or companionship. The time u spend with those who need the
camaraderie of fellowship and communication will greatly appreciate it.

U must always be vigilante and see the needs of others. Is there anyone u
know who could use a tree or a gift, that are unlikely to receive such? Do
your part by gifting to those in need. Maybe you could even give someone
a turkey. Maybe they would appreciate a simple turkey dinner even. Think
it over. You’ll be glad u did.

Have a fun filled great and prosperous day!

This is a continuation of the use of The Spiritual Tongues/ Languages

J.L. All Tongues, Languages and Prophecy and the use of these must be tested against the WORD of GOD and not taken out of context. GOD has set the importance of TONGUES. The person who speaks what God has revealed is more important….. than the person who speaks in other languages…… This is true unless he can interpret what he says to help the church grow……

1 CORINTHIANS 14 5I wish that all of you could speak in other languages, but especially that you could speak what God has revealed. The person who speaks what God has revealed is more important….. than the person who speaks in other languages…… This is true unless he can interpret what he says to help the church grow. 6Brothers and sisters, it wouldn’t do you any good if I came to you speaking in other languages,……. unless I explained revelation, knowledge, prophecy, or doctrine to you.,\……

10No matter how many different languages there are in the world, not one of them is without meaning. 11If I don’t know what a language means, I will be a foreigner to the person who speaks it and that person will be a foreigner to me. 12In the same way, since you’re eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in them so that you help the church grow. 13So the person who speaks in another language should pray for an interpretation of what he says.

J.L. This next verse could be interpreted two ways 1. That Paul was an educated man that spoke in many languages or 2. That while he was doing the LORD’S Work the LORD gave him the Gift of TONGUES as part or help him with his work.

The use of TONGUES to lead people to CHRIST ?

18I thank God that I speak in other languages more than any of you. 19Yet, in order to teach others in church, I would rather say five words that can be understood than ten thousand words in another language. 20Brothers and sisters, don’t think like children. When it comes to evil, be like babies, but think like mature people. 21God’s word says, “Through people who speak foreign languages and through the mouths of foreigners I will speak to these people, but even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.”

22So the gift of speaking in other languages is a sign for unbelievers, not for believers. The gift of speaking what God had revealed is a sign for believers, not for unbelievers. 23Suppose the whole congregation gathers in the same place and you speak in other languages. When outsiders or unbelievers come in, won’t they say that you’re out of your mind ?

24Now suppose you speak what God has revealed. When unbelievers or outsiders come in you will show them where they are wrong and convince them that they are sinners. 25The secrets in their hearts will become known, and in this way they will quickly bow with their faces touching the ground, worship God, and confess that God is truly among you. 26So what does this mean, brothers and sisters? When you gather, each person has a psalm, doctrine, revelation, another language, or an interpretation. Everything must be done to help each other grow.

Other languages and interpretations

27If people speak in other languages, only two or three at the most should speak. They should do it one at a time, and someone must interpret what each person says. 28But if an interpreter isn’t present, those people should remain silent in church. They should only speak to themselves and to God.

39So, brothers and sisters, desire to speak what God has revealed, and don’t keep anyone from speaking in other languages. 40Everything must be done in a proper and orderly way.

J.L. As and individual and Pastor, I have experienced the 3 types of Tongues and Languages described in this teaching. I think that the most profound experience occurred when I was in quadra-by-pass surgery, when the LORD called me to prayer. What best described what happened next was “the Spirit intercedes along with our groans that “cannot be expressed in words”. A nurse asked me to speak more clearly and I told her that I was praying in Tongues and my wife explained what was happening. During the same surgery I started to raise my hands in praise and worship and they started to strap me down and my wife told them not to and they stopped. For many reasons I shouldn’t have survived the surgery but GOD would not allow me to go to Him because I had more work to do.

J.L. I think that what is missing when talking in and about Tongues, is the intimate relationship that develops between you and the LORD. The desire to be with Him and communicate with Him with or without Tongues or Languages. Praying in the Spirit and Meditating in the Spirit is part of it but there are deeper things of GOD, mysteries and Spiritual Things that the HOLY SPIRIT can teach us if we would just let Him. It is the communication between our spiritual soul and the Spirit of GOD which requires a Spiritual Language which is Tongues. Never forget that GOD is a Spirit and deals in Spiritual Things ( JOHN 3:6 ).

J.L. What bothers me today is that the LORD has let us go on a “pathway of curses”.

( Deut. 28 ) because of our corrupt nature. Evil surrounds us with disception, wars and rumors of wars, corruption, all of which are bringing us to self-destruction. We have become our own worse enemy. We are Evil. We have cursed ourselves.

We, ourselves have no Plan, power, authority or ability to rid ourselves of the spiritual Evil we are .

ROMANS 7 23However, I see a different standard at work throughout my body. It is at war with the standards my mind sets and tries to take me captive to sin’s standards which still exist throughout my body. 24What a miserable person I am! Who will rescue me from my dying body? 25I thank God that our Lord Jesus Christ rescues me! So I am obedient to God’s standards with my mind, but I am obedient to sin’s standards with my corrupt nature.

2 CORINTHIANS 10 10He has rescued us from a terrible death, and he will rescue us in the future. We are confident that he will continue to rescue us, 11since you are also joining to help us when you pray for us.

J.L. Our Evil is all spiritual and yet we try to fight it with our physical minds, physical language, physical intelligence and physical intellectual arrogance. We do not have the Weapons of GOD for spiritual warfare or the faith to use them. We are very corrupt, sin full and dumb. We have not let history teach us, so we are repeating it to our peril. We worship a “ideologue god” based on the Sins of Rome that failed, not GOD.

J.L. We have the ability with Spiritual Tongues, Spiritual Languages, Praying in the Spirit, Meditating in the Spirit and a Spiritual Intimate Relationship with a Heavenly Father, that has all the Spiritual Power and Spiritual Authority, to turn this Evil world upside down if we just had faith in Him. Our rescue is through Jesus Christ , not the government bail-out.

J.L. Do we have a Moses, David, Gideon or Paul to communicate directly with GOD and stand in the Spiritual gap between Good and Evil that we are currently facing ?

J.L. We need a Spiritual Language now more than ever to keep in continuous communication, prayer and praise with our Spiritual GOD who will rescue us.

Abbiamo cominciato settimana scorsa una lunga e dolorosa discesa negli inferi delle produzione cinematografiche a soggetto supereroistico. Insomma, i film brutti tratti dai fumetti. Se volete scoprire quanto si può cadere in basso, continuate a leggere e puppatevi un’escalation di terrore dalla posizione numero 12 alla 10. Oddio che ansia.

12 The Punisher, Jonathan Hensleigh, 2004

11 X-Men le origini – Wolverine, Gavin Hood, 2009

Danny Huston

10 The Spirit, Frank Miller, 2008

I have been giving a lot of thought to life beyond this earth, or rather truly living life on this earth. Connecting to the spirit world, finding my spiritual path and knowing and finding the true meaning of life – a journey I will be on for as long as I exist on the planet earth I am sure. While I know I am here to create change and expose truths, I am finding it very hard to stay connected to any sort of inner peace. While I do not follow or will I ever follow one tradition of religion (I had a profoundly negative and damaging past with evangelical Christianity – another blog, another day), I do find solice in knowing life beyond what I see before me. I relate to the traditions of the buddha, have practiced and researched eastern religion and traditions, and now am exploring the tradition of the native american people, the deeply spiritual people that inhabited this country until we came and took it all away. All we learn/ed about these people is what they told us in history class, which as many now realize is a bunch of shit. Who these people are today and who they were before we stole their land, is what I want to learn and know. Their traditions, how they used the earth to heal, and how much they respect their land and the spirit.

This weekend I will participate in my first sweat lodge, a native american tradition to purify and heal the body and mind. I am really looking forward to it, and hope to find some of the answers I seek. This is something my sister has been learning for awhile now, but now I will get to see for myself what it is all about. And in less than 4 weeks I will be on a plane to Arizona where I will join women (and some men to) from all parts of the country (and beyond I am sure) in Sedona for a 4 day retreat with the THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF THIRTEEN INDIGENOUS GRANDMOTHERS. In 2004, thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers from all four corners, moved by their concern for our planet, came together at a historic gathering, where they decided to form an alliance. This is their mission statement:

WE, THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF THIRTEEN INDIGENOUS GRANDMOTHERS, represent a global alliance of prayer, education and healing for our Mother Earth, all Her inhabitants, all the children, and for the next seven generations to come. We are deeply concerned with the unprecedented destruction of our Mother Earth and the destruction of indigenous ways of life. We believe the teachings of our ancestors will light our way through an uncertain future. We look to further our vision through the realization of projects that protect our diverse cultures: lands, medicines, language and ceremonial ways of prayer and through projects that educate and nurture our children.

I had the opportunity to hear one of the grandmothers speak last week at a local wellness center, and let’s just say I was deeply moved. The feminine power and certainty in her voice, convictions, and spiritual beliefs were so profound. And I realized something. These are the women I need to learn from, these are the women I am being drawn to for a reason. That night I learned they are all meeting in Sedona in a few weeks for their 7th council gathering, and there was still room available to attend – I just KNEW my sister and I had to get there … that I will be shown the answers I seek through these women. So, the next day we booked our trip (that we now have to figure out how to fund!), and we will be on our way Dec. 3rd. Wow.

That night, I looked around the room and saw other women like me that know they are here on this earth for a reason, that know they have work to do to help this planet, and I felt a sense of peace with who I am for the first time in a long while. That is is ok that I am weird to others, that I may seem fanatical or overly passionate. Because you know what? These grandmothers, 800 years of wisdom between them all, have struggled in this way to at some point. Although they always have had a strong vision of what they are here to do, it is hard to live in a world where you just don’t seem to fit. Where you literally feel and see the destruction around you and know you can only do so much to change it. Where you often feel like you are living outside of the reality the majority of the people around you are in…

By seeing other women that I know have struggled the way that I do, I now actually feel like I am not alone. Women not afraid to use their voice and power, but finding a healthy, loving way to make change happen. This is where I seek spiritual guidance. Because I feel the suffering around me. I sense the pain and sorrow from people without them saying a word. That is hard to live with. What is happening to our earth, to our people, to our children – it deeply angers me. And it hard to live with this anger and frustration. And it is learning to deal with this in a healthy and positive way that I struggle with daily. Most days I just to scream ‘WAKE UP PEOPLE!! DON’T YOU SEE?!!!” And that is where I need the guidance of the native american ways, the ways of these 13 grandmothers who have lived through more than I can imagine … to help guide me in the direction I need to be able to survive on this earth. To make the changes I hope to make. To help and heal others the way I am being called to… I will find my answers. In time.

Today I had the delight of watching the famed ‘Jennifer’s Body,‘ which ideally focuses on many controversial concepts which include subjects such as; Satanic worship, torture, mutilation, demonology and lesbianism. Oh, well, sounds like everyone’s first day of the summer break, right? No, of course not. This appeared to be apparent as Box Office sales didn’t exceed more than $19 million with its $16 million budget at hand and scoring particularly badly among critics.

I’ll dive right in to the pool of blood and bad attempts of comedy left behind by the film’s oh so apparent success among younger viewers, which was also dubbed ‘Twilight for boys‘ by acclaimed film critic Roger Ebert, who enjoyed the film. To be fair to Jennifer’s Body, it wasn’t an entirely bad film, it was indeed an interesting and original plot, however it could have been tackled far better by Diablo Cody who, to be honest, had her heart set on the film, but not necessarily all of her head. Fox’s acting was adequate at best, which significantly contrasted against Seyfried’s, who I have to admit, was surprising to say the least. Brody was also rather convincing as a slick-haired, satanic worshipping lead singer, which one wouldn’t have envisioned from his performances on ‘The OC.’

Roger Ebert was correct in saying that Jennifer’s Body is Twilight for boys, I mean how many women out there are prepared to sit through 102 minutes of blood-dripping, body-dismembering, scantily-dressed-cheerleading? Well, I’d imagine a few. It’s like Twilight in the same sense that every female in the world would go to see it because of the actor’s portrayal of the protagonist, who beyond all disbelief is Megan Fox, most men’s favourite young actress of the year.. or four. It’s also like Twilight in the sense that it’s completely and utterly successful beyond ever imagined. Oh wait a second…

Jennifer’s Body, overall, isn’t great. If you enjoy cheap thrills, then hey, be my guest. However, as the analysis goes; the acting is poor, the satirical side of it fails to achieve what it’s designed for, and probably the best part of it was the ending where I had a sigh of relief that I didn’t have to watch any more of what I thought would be a crazily good film. Unfortunately, it isn’t. Despite a few occasional moments in the script, kudos to Cody for those, the film really can’t take off as what it’s supposed to be, comedy, slasher, horror or a film about female empowerment and it’s not like any other teen horror movie out there, for starters this one has some degree of a plot line, but it’s still not really worth the money of a cinema trip. Sorry folks. Oh and this poster is blatantly a rip of True Blood.

THE SPIRIT é um filme complicado porque levanta muitos problemas.

Hello and welcome,

The season is upon us. The spooky season. Time for trick and treaters to vist and enjoy the festiviites that include fun frolicking and treats. No tricks eh? Be good to your friends and neighbors and they will be good to u. The Spirit is out and about and watching over all the little ghosts and goblins. Parents be sure to bundle them up warm and in bright colors so they can be seen.

It may be Halloween, but it isn’t much of a break from things that pester and haunt us daily. The chores to be done before winter strikes are sometimes daunting, but are easily accomplished with a little fortitude and action. It is surprising how much can be done when one actually finds renewed spirit. We so easily forget Spirit and get sidetracked by other intrusions into our daily lives.

Spirit is always there within reach if we will just reach. It is easy to renew Spirit if you feel a little down or dragged out. Spirit lifts us back up to where we belong and strengthens our resolve to achieve the goals we set each day. In Spirit we find new horizons yet to be discovered. We feel strength in our commitment to survive all odds and win the prize at the end. What is it you wish for the end to be? It can be whatever your heart desires.

Thank you once again for joining me in Spirit and keep your spirits high and elated by seeing the heights u can achieve. While we go about our daily business we should always look for Spirit in others, as it keeps us more in touch with our own. It is this constant contact that brings us closer to Spirit. With a little help we can all proceed on a less rocky road to success. Renew Spirit in U.

Have a great fun filled happy and prosperous day!

There is a thread on Absolute Write about reading a second book by an author whose first book ain

There is a thread on Absolute Write about reading a second book by an author whose first book ain’t quite up to scratch, and it got me to thinking about how bad something has to be before a creator’s entire canon is ignored. In some ways I am able to see past the voice of a writer, or filmmaker, or musician, or any other art, to accept the output for what it is, but a small part of me knows that there is more to life than slogging through an annoying or ill-conceived concept for a few good moments. There are some big event releases coming up which I’ll be waiting a while for due to this very topic.

Avatar, James Cameron’s return to the big screen may be endlessly hyped by some, though after the dumb True Lies, an obnoxious Titanic remake, and his terrible Entourage cameo, I don’t see how he has any reason to expect my money. I’ll wait on the DVD, only if the film gets good reviews, or the television premiere if it sucks ass. The notion that he has anything new to say in the realm of SF is doubtful, especially when the idea behind Avatar is examined closely. It sounds like the plot of any number of novels by people who have something to say.

George Lucas, the man to blame thank for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace is another individual who has lost any respect from me. Did he fall on his head and forget how to direct? Jeez, it’s a good thing that the fanbase ignored the terrible aspects of his second trilogy long enough for him to turn a quick buck. I’ve been wary of Star Wars properties since those films, but there have been a few games (The Force Unleashed and the Lego tie-ins) which pulled back some of the wonder from those first Star Wars films. Better than Jedi Academy at any rate…

I’m more forgiving to people who strike me as people I could have a drink with and not be irritated by. Even after Land Of The Dead and Diary Of The Dead failed to impress me, I guess I would still check out any new film George A. Romero comes up with. Is that an asshole / box office equation that I’ve just come up with? There are other creators I forgive poor quality work from, and Clive Barker – once hailed as the future of horror by no less an authority than Stephen King – is one who goes straight to the top of that list.

Cabal, a book I love as much as I am infuriated by its missed opportunities, is still with me after fifteen years of re-readings. His Books Of Blood were brilliant, and I can forgive him pretty much anything for their existence alone. His film career may not have panned out quite so well, and I’ll comfortably ignore Rawhead Rex despite it sitting on my DVD shelf alongside his other cinematic outings. I bought it, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll ever watch the fucking thing – collector mentality only goes so far.

Those are familiar names. My opinion on their talent is irrelevant. Suckers will still shell out money for any old crap that is associated with Star Wars (and how else could stores shift Jar Jar Binks toys?), but that kind of loyalty has long since left me. I (thankfully) missed the One More Day storyline in Spider-Man as it was happening due to endless and awful Spidey crap from the late nineties. I hold my grudges well. Only… The Spirit (the DVD of which I finally managed to get running) is shit. I’m sure everyone is in agreement on this. Does that mean I should wait and see if Sin City 2 is okay for human viewing?

Frank Miller, whose work is divisive when discussed in polite company, is one of the very few comic book creators who have yet to create something completely unreadable. DK2 is a hard book to love, but it isn’t as terrible as some make it out to be. There is a rhythm and a specific cadence to his writing that instantly appeals, and his artwork on Sin City, while reminiscent of both Hugo Pratt and Jim Steranko in places, is a breath of fresh air. The Spirit is an anomaly, and I’m sure he will put it behind him.

I haven’t mentioned music yet, because that is trickier to separate the artist from their work. Many times I’ve heard a song which is catchy but at the same time doesn’t sound like it belongs to the performer. It isn’t necessarily that they are doing a cover of a famous track, it’s just that they aren’t the best singer for the song. Can you imagine anyone else but Roy Orbison singing In Dreams? No. That is a perfect match between singer and song, and it is a good benchmark for anyone to compare against.

Most people deserve at least two opportunities to prove themselves. If we implement the one strike rule, then James Cameron’s career would have amounted to a shit sequel to Piranha. No Terminator, no Aliens and no Titanic… It’s a good way of looking at most artistic endeavors.

Space is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist, but that’s just peanuts to space. – Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

The Bible includes many claims that are difficult to believe–talking animals, a worldwide flood, divine appearances, and of course the resurrection–but Paul’s claim that “creation waits with eager longing for the revelation of the children of God” (Romans 8:18-23) must rank fairly high. Perhaps that made sense to those who believed “the heavens” were a hard dome overhanging the earth, but what about today?

People have always recognized the universe is big, but we now know that “big” does not even come close to doing it justice. In truth, the universe is so unimaginably vast that nothing in our experience can even provide a suitable analogy. You could imagine the whole earth were the size of an atom (but can you really imagine how small an atom is?) and the universe would still be bigger by comparison than anything can see.

Remember the famous image of Earth as a “pale, blue dot”? This picture was only taken from the edge of our own solar system, and our sun is just one of more than a hundred billion stars in our galaxy alone. How many is a hundred billion? If you started counting stars today, one per second, it would take you three thousand years to finish our one galaxy. Imagine how long it would take to visit all those, much less the uncountable multitudes of other such galaxies that we know must exist. The idea that the inhabitants of this one tiny speck could have a central role in such universe is, on the face of it, patently absurd.

Stargate Universe well illustrates the problem (watch it on Hulu). The show follows a group of people who have been transported to an ancient starship hurtling through the far reaches of the universe, “several billion light years from home.” The ship, called The Destiny, has been travelling faster than light for hundreds of thousands of years to get this far, yet even its fantastically long voyage has only brought the ship through an infinitesimal portion of the universe as a whole. You could imagine its entire journey as a single thread dropped into the Pacific, and you would barely approach the vastness of space though which it has traveled. The point should be clear: humanity could spend millions if not billions of years colonizing the stars, and we would still fall far short of visiting–much less remaking–the whole of creation.

Of course, Paul was certainly not thinking of converting aliens in distant galaxies when he wrote of creation awaiting “the revealing of the children of God,” but that doesn’t really solve the problem of the incarnation in such an unimaginably vast universe. Paul’s point was that God’s coming in Christ–and the gift of God’s spirit–had fundamentally changed the game–the universe as a whole is different this side of the incarnation. That Paul didn’t realize how small a part of the universe the Earth actually occupies doesn’t make his claim any easier to swallow. Whether he realized it or not, there is simply no way we have the ability–in ourselves–to play such a central role in the cosmos.

Then again, the biblical authors were hardly unaware of the absurdity of humanity’s place in the universe, even if they would not have described it in the same terms we do. After all, it wasn’t as though we needed to learn about distant galaxies to realize that, in the grand scheme of things, humanity is a small thing. As the Psalmist put it:

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established, what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them? (Psalm 8:3-4)

In other words, the significance of humanity relative to the rest of the cosmos–if we have one–rests not on humanity’s inherent prominence or abilities, but solely on the grace of God. Nor is it so absurd that a small or rare thing could have such significance. Children are common but invaluable; diamonds are valued precisely because they are rare.

On the one hand, if intelligent life is unique to earth after all, then our small size relative to the whole is totally inconsequential. If, on the other hand, humanity is but one among many races of thinking beings spread across the universe, then things are more complicated, but until we actually go out and see for ourselves what those others are like–or if they even exist–we cannot really know whether our religious conceptions will stand up to the encounter, or only be revealed as wild hubris. But we can speculate, and perhaps no mainstream science fiction has gone further with such speculation than the Stargate franchise.

Stargate, admittedly, has not always been friendly to religion. The basic premise is that the ancient gods were actually highly advanced aliens who transplanted humanity across the galaxy (if not the universe). A major theme of the first Stargate series (SG1) was the attempt to free the galaxy from slavery to these “false gods” and their armies of brainwashed followers. Still, the idea that humanity might not be restricted to Earth does suggest a broader significance that is explored in a variety of ways in the first two series. As the story progresses, humans from Earth are indeed instrumental in saving the peoples of several galaxies, human and non-human alike.

As far as Christianity itself is concerned, the previous series have been notably ambivalent, as seen especially in season 3 episode Demons and in the transparent caricatures of fundamentalist Christianity in the season 8 episode Icon and the Origin story-line in the final two seasons. Stargate Universe, however, has so far taken a much more positive approach.

For instance, the two most recent episodes, titled Darkness and Light, include characters praying the 23rd Psalm and the Lord’s Prayer at key points in the narrative and embody a fairly clear, if symbolic, death and resurrection story-arc. Like Battlestar Galactica (to which it owes a great deal), SGU clearly recognizes that religion will not simply disappear as technology advances and new frontiers are opened, and its effects need not be negative. Also like BSG–and rather unlike previous incarnations of Stargate–our heroes here are broken people, variously prideful, needy or both, and as much in need of enlightenment as they are likely to bring it to the superstitious masses. In other words, they are just like us: clinging to their religious heritage, and interpreting their experiences in its light, no matter how far from home they get, not because they have it all figured out, but because it is the best they know.

The more interesting question is whether their religious conceptions have any merit beyond psychological comfort, and here again SGU is more like BSG than previous incarnations of Stargate. This was particularly seen in the third part of the Pilot, titled Air (spoilers follow). When the ancient ship’s life support system begins to fail, the crew is forced to travel to a desert planet in search of materials necessary to fix it. The episode is positively dripping with Christian imagery, highlighted by several flashbacks of one character’s own history with the Christian church.

First, there is the fact that they must go into the desert–a symbol of death–to seek life, and while there they repeatedly test the sand with a red chemical that looks like blood, each time pouring it out onto the ground. The symbolism later becomes literal as a few of the team give up hope and decide to try a different planet that The Destiny had warned them against. Two people go through, and are never heard from again, but a third is prevented from going when the others shoot him–spilling his blood but ultimately saving his life. At the climax of the episode, another man is on the verge of death when he sees a vision of a crucifix standing over the very spot he had been searching for, then collapses into a dream. He is a teenager, confessing his sin to a priest, who assures him: “We have redemption through his blood.”

If this symbolism were not enough, the episode supplements it with a second set of imagery involving water. They travel to this planet through a portal that looks like a pool of water, and at the end of the episode one character holds the portal open by sticking part of his body into it, knowing it could close at any moment and kill him. He does this to buy his friends enough time to escape themselves, before all three pass through the waters to life. Nor was this act of self-sacrifice the first instance of baptismal imagery in the episode. Dehydrated and dying, the same man who saw the crucifix also meets an apparently sentient whirlwind, which offers him water in the desert, reviving him and revealing the material they need to fix their life support system. Here again is biblical imagery: The whirlwind symbolizes the Spirit of God, which is associated with revelation and new life in a variety of biblical texts. Isaiah speaks of the Spirit bringing forth springs in the desert; John says “the spirit blows where it wills”; God addressed Job from the whirlwind.

In the end, like the rag-tag crew of The Destiny we do not know what sort of beings might live in the far reaches of the universe–was that intelligent whirlwind truly God’s Spirit, or a previously unknown form of embodied life, or perhaps even God working though such an alien being?–but it appears that even out there God’s presence can still be felt, redemption is still on offer, humanity still has a grander Destiny, even if we do not yet know where it is taking us.

Introduction: I love to read the scriptures, and I’m sure that many of you can relate. As I have spent many years studying them, I’ve found a few techniques that are especially helpful. This series – posted every Friday – will explore ways to study the scriptures. I hope that you find some helpful ideas. And if you have any suggestions, then please feel free to comment!!!

The Spirit

The single most important element of scripture study is approaching the scriptures with the Spirit. Often, I’ve thought of the pharisees, Sadducees, and scribes, and I’ve wondered how they knew so much about the Scriptures, but they didn’t recognize Christ – their God.

It’s because they didn’t search the scriptures with the Spirit.

If we don’t utilize the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost, then the same can happen to us in our Study.
After Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were baptized, Joseph Smith tells,

“…We were filled with the Holy Ghost, and rejoiced in the God of our salvation.
“Our minds being now enlightened, we began to have the scriptures laid open to our understandings, and the true meaning and intention of their more mysterious passages revealed unto us in a manner which we never could attain to previously.”
- Joseph Smith-History 1:73-74

The Spirit helped them to understand scriptures! Of course, they had positive experiences with the scriptures prior to this event; however, once they received the gift of the Holy Ghost, they were able to understand the true meaning and intention of the scriptures. They were able to receive specific revelation and instruction from the Holy Ghost.

If we have been baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, then we, too have been blessed with the constant companionship and Gift of the Holy Ghost. We have the right and privilege to have it as a study aid! And we can use it. So, every time you go to the scriptures, be open-minded, start with a prayer, study with full purpose of heart, have faith in Christ, and have the humility to let the Holy Spirit guide.

YOUR SPIRITUAL TEACHER—-THE HOLY SPIRIT JOHN 14 25“I have told you this while

                YOUR SPIRITUAL TEACHER—-THE HOLY SPIRIT

JOHN 14 25“I have told you this while I’m still with you. 26However, the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything. He will remind you of everything that I have ever told you.

JOHN 15 26“The helper whom I will send to you from the Father will come. This helper, the Spirit of Truth who comes from the Father, will declare the truth about me. 27You will declare the truth, too, because you have been with me from the beginning.”

2 TIMOTHY 3 14However, continue in what you have learned and found to be true. You know who your teachers were. 15From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures ( THE WORD ). They have the power to give you wisdom so that you can be saved through faith in Christ Jesus. 16Every Scripture ( THE WORD ) passage is inspired by God. All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God’s approval. 17They equip God’s servants so that they are completely prepared to do good things.

HEBREWS 4 12God’s word is living and active. It is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts as deep as the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet. God’s word judges a person’s thoughts and intentions.

1 CORINTHIANS 2 10God has revealed those things to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches everything, “especially the “deep things” of God”.

JOHN 1 “The Word” Becomes Human 1In the beginning “the Word” already existed. “The Word” was with God,….. and “the Word” was God…… 2He was already with God in the beginning.

3Everything came into existence through him. Not one thing that exists ( good or Evil ) was made without him.

4He was the source of life, and that life was the light for humanity.

5The light shines in the dark, and the dark has never extinguished it.£

1 CORINTHIANS 14 2When a person speaks in another language, he doesn’t speak to people but to God. No one understands him. His spirit is speaking mysteries.

ROMANS 8 26At the same time the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we don’t know how to pray for what we need. But the Spirit intercedes along with our groans that “cannot be expressed in words”. 27The one who searches our hearts knows what the Spirit has in mind. The Spirit intercedes for God’s people the way God wants him to.

2 CORINTHIANS 12 I’ll go on to visions and revelations from the Lord. 2I know a follower of Christ who was snatched away to the third heaven fourteen years ago. I don’t know whether this happened to him physically or spiritually. Only God knows. 3I know that this person 4was snatched away to paradise where he heard things that can’t be expressed in words, things that humans cannot put into words. I don’t know whether this happened to him physically or spiritually. Only God knows.

MATTHEW 13 11Jesus answered, “Knowledge about the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you. But it has not been given to the crowd. 12Those who understand these mysteries will be given more knowledge, and they will excel in understanding them.

However, some people don’t understand these mysteries. Even what they understand will be taken away from them. 13This is why I speak to them this way. They see, but they’re blind……. They hear, but they don’t listen….. They don’t even try to understand.

1 CORINTHIANS 4 1People should think of us as servants of Christ and managers who are entrusted with God’s mysteries.

HEBREWS 11 6No one can please God without faith…… Whoever goes to God must believe that God exists…… and that he rewards those who seek him.

1 THESSALONIANS 5 16Rejoice evermore. 17Pray without ceasing. 18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19Quench not the Spirit…….. 20Despise not prophesyings…….. 21Prove all things;…… hold fast that which is good…… 22Abstain from all appearance of evil.

EPHESIANS 6 18 Pray in the Spirit…… in every situation. Use every kind of prayer and request there is….. For the same reason be alert…… Use every kind of effort and make every kind of request for all of God’s people…… 19Also pray that God will give me the right words to say….. Then I will speak boldly when I reveal the….. Mystery….. of the Good News.

MATTHEW 6 5“When you pray, don’t be like hypocrites. They like to stand in synagogues and on street corners to pray so that everyone can see them…… I can guarantee this truth: That will be their only reward….. 6When you pray, go to your room ( PRAYER CLOSET ) and close the door. Pray privately to your Father who is with you. Your Father sees what you do in private. He will reward you.

7“When you pray, don’t ramble ( pray repetitiously ) like heathens who think they’ll be heard if they talk a lot. 8Don’t be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

                                                          THE HOLY SPIRIT

J.L. Jesus told us He was going to send the Holy Spirit to us after He died and arose. What He didn’t tell us completely was, why we would need this Holy Spirit, His Power and His Authority. He did tell us that the Holy Spirit would be our Teacher, but never mention that He would be preparing us to fight the good fight against Evil in combat, in continuous spiritual warfare. The Holy Spirit is all about Spiritual Baptism with Wind and Fingers of Fire . The Wind and Fire describes in human terms what the Spirit is and how HE shows or doesn‘t show Himself :

J.L. The Wind and Fingers of Fire describes the future action the Holy Spirit in our lives.

ACTS 2 2Suddenly, a sound like a violently blowing wind came from the sky and filled the whole house where they were staying. 3Tongues that looked like fire appeared to them. The tongues arranged themselves so that one came to rest on each believer.

J.L. The Holy Spirit is truly a Spirit as GOD is a Spirit, They are THE ONE HOLY SPIRIT that is “written in our Hearts”…and the Spirit gives birth to “things that are spiritual” .

2 Corinthians 3 Do we have to show you all about our qualifications again? Do we, like some people, need letters that recommend us to you or letters from you that recommend us to others? 2You’re our letter of recommendation written in our hearts that everyone knows and reads. 3It’s clear that you are Christ’s letter, written as a result of our ministry. ……..You are a letter written not with ink but “with the Spirit of the living God” ,……. a letter written not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

MATTHEW 3 11I baptize you with water so that you will change the way you think and act. But the one who comes after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to remove his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

JOHN 3 5Jesus answered Nicodemus, “I can guarantee this truth: No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh and blood give birth to flesh and blood,….. but the Spirit gives birth to things that are spiritual……. 7Don’t be surprised when I tell you that all of you must be born from above.

8The wind£ blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you don’t know where the wind comes from or where it’s going. …..That’s the way it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

ACTS 1 4Once, while he was meeting with them, he ordered them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait there for what the Father had promised. Jesus said to them, “I’ve told you what the Father promises: 5John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

J.L. There will be another Pentecost coming soon.

Acts 2 1When Pentecost, the fiftieth day after Passover, came, all the believers were together in one place.

2Suddenly, a sound like a violently blowing wind came from the sky and filled the whole house where they were staying. 3Tongues that looked like fire appeared to them. The tongues arranged themselves so that one came to rest on each believer.

4All the believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.5Devout Jewish men from every nation were living in Jerusalem. 6They gathered when they heard the wind. Each person was startled to recognize his own dialect when the disciples spoke.

                                                PROPHECY and OPINION

MATTHEW 5 17“Don’t ever think that I came to set aside Moses’ Teachings or the Prophets. I didn’t come to set them aside but to make them come true. 18I can guarantee this truth: Until the earth and the heavens disappear, neither a period nor a comma will disappear from Moses’ Teachings before everything has come true.

19So whoever sets aside any command that seems unimportant and teaches others to do the same will be unimportant in the kingdom of heaven. 20I can guarantee that…… unless you live a life that has God’s approval and do it more faithfully than the scribes and Pharisees,……. you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does and teaches what the commands say will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Curses from the LORD to America

DEUTERONOMY 11 26Today I’m giving you the choice of a blessing or a curse. 27You’ll be blessed if you obey the commands of the LORD your God that I’m giving you today. 28You’ll be cursed if you disobey the commands of the LORD your God, if you turn from the way I’m commanding you to live today, and if you worship other gods you never knew .

J.L. America has chosen the curse.

                                                      DEUTERONOMY 28

15Obey the LORD your God, and faithfully follow all his commands and laws that I am giving you today. If you don’t, all these curses will come to you and stay close to you:

16You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the country.

. WOW

20The LORD will send you curses, panic, and frustration in everything you do until you’re destroyed and quickly disappear for the evil you will do by abandoning the LORD.

WOW

22The LORD will strike you with disease, fever, and inflammation; heat waves,£ drought,£ scorching winds,£ and ruined crops. They will pursue you until you die.

23The sky above will look like bronze, and the ground below will be as hard as iron. 24The LORD will send dust storms and sandstorms on you from the sky until you’re destroyed.

WOW

25The LORD will let your enemies defeat you. You will attack them from one direction but run away from them in seven directions.

WOW

You will become a thing of horror to all the kingdoms in the world.

WOW

28The LORD will strike you with madness, blindness, and panic.

29You will grope in broad daylight as blind people grope in their blindness. You won’t be successful in anything you do.£ As long as you live, you will be oppressed and robbed with no one to rescue you.

WOW

You will build a house, but you won’t live in it.

WOW

33People you never knew will eat what your land and your hard work have produced. As long as you live, you will know nothing but oppression and abuse. 34The things you see will drive you mad.

WOW

36The LORD will lead you and the king you choose to a nation that you and your ancestors never knew. There you will worship gods made of wood and stone.

WOW

37You will become a thing of horror. All the nations where the LORD will send you will make an example of you and ridicule you.

WOW

43The standard of living for theû foreigners who live among you will rise higher and higher, while your ëstandard of livingû will sink lower and lower. 44They will be able to make loans to you, but you won’t be able to make loans to them. They will be the head, and you will be the tail.

WOW

46These curses will be a sign and an amazing thing to warn you and your descendants forever. 47You didn’t serve the LORD your God with a joyful and happy heart when you had so much. 48So you will serve your enemies, whom the LORD will send against you. You will serve them even though you are already hungry, thirsty, naked, and in need of everything. The LORD will put a heavy burden of hard work on you until he destroys you.

49The LORD will bring against you a nation from far away, from the ends of the earth. The nation will swoop down on you like an eagle. It will be a nation whose language you won’t understand. 50Its people will be fierce-looking. They will show no respect for the old and no pity for the young. 51They’ll eat the offspring of your animals and the crops from your fields until you’re destroyed. They’ll leave you no grain, no new wine, no olive oil, no calves from your herds, and no lambs or kids from your flocks. They’ll continue to do this until they’ve completely ruined you. 52They will blockade all your cities until the high, fortified walls in which you trust come down everywhere in your land. They’ll blockade all the cities everywhere in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

58You might not faithfully obey every word of the teachings that are written in this book. You might not fear this glorious and awe-inspiring name: the LORD your God. 59If so, the LORD will strike you and your descendants with unimaginable plagues.

They will be terrible and continuing plagues and severe and lingering diseases.

WOW

62At one time you were as numerous as the stars in the sky. But only a few of you will be left, because you didn’t obey the LORD your God. 63At one time the LORD was more than glad to make you prosperous and numerous. Now the LORD will be more than glad to destroy you and wipe you out. You will be torn out of the land you’re about to enter and take possession of.

WOW

65Among those nations you will find no peace, no place to call your own. There the LORD will give you ……..an unsettled mind, failing eyesight, and despair……. 66Your life will always be hanging by a thread……. You will live in terror day and night. You will never feel sure of your life. 67In the morning you’ll say, “If only it were evening!” And in the evening you’ll say, “If only it were morning!” You’ll talk this way because of the things that will terrify you and because of the things you’ll see.

WOW

ISAIAH 30 30 The LORD will make his majestic voice heard. He will come down with all his might, with furious anger, with fire storms, windstorms, rainstorms, and hailstones.

THE ANSWER TO END THE CURSES

2 CHRONICLES 7 14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

19But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; 20Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations. 21And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say,

Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house? 22And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

GOD’S Spirit is ANGRY at “other gods” and His Judgement of

                                            them is Fierce and Final

DEUTERONOMY 13 12You may hear that the residents in one of the cities which the LORD your God is giving you to live in 13have been led away from the LORD your God by worthless people. You may hear that these people have been saying, “Let’s worship other gods.” (Those gods may be gods you’ve never heard of.) 14Then make a thorough investigation. If it is true, and you can prove that this disgusting thing has been done among you, 15you must kill the residents of that city with swords and destroy that city and everyone in it, including the animals, because they are claimed by God. 16Gather their goods into the middle of the city square. Then burn their city and all their goods as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. It must remain a mound of ruins and never be rebuilt. 17Don’t ever take any of the things claimed for destruction. Then the LORD will stop being angry and will show you mercy. In his mercy he will make your population increase, as he swore to your ancestors. 18The LORD your God will do this if you listen to him, obey all the commands that I’m giving you today, and do what he considers right.

Importantly, I’ve avoided repeating anyone else’s list. So if it’s not on the list, it will most likely mean I chose to target something else. This only occurred about three or four times so it didn’t affect my list too greatly. And everything that needs to be said about Alien vs Predator: Requiem has already been said.

Also, I’ve chosen to only include movies I had a overwhelming hatred for. Not just a ‘that was shit’, but these movies make me want to kill puppies. Not that I have of course, but even thinking about these movies while doing the list has annoyed the shit out of me. That’s how evil these shitfests are.

So with further ado, away we go!

I call this flick the ‘relationship killer’. Well, maybe not relationship, but I went on a second date with a chick and we saw this piece of shit. Needless to say I never heard from her again. I blame the movie, not my good looks or winning personality. In theory, this is a cool idea. Bring together all the literary icons of the past couple of hundred years and have them join forces to defeat the ultimate evil adversary. Needless to say that theory proved incorrect. Jekyll and Hyde looked like a condom stuffed with potatoes, Sean Connerys stunt double should’ve received top billing and Richard Roxburgh hammed it up so much I had a craving for pork chops. I’ve not read Alan Moores funnybook, but if this is the result then count me out. One day someone will learn not to fucking adapt Alan Moore. The only barely watchable adaptation is ‘From Hell’.

19. Elizabethtown (2005)

I’d usually blame that effeminate prick Orlando Bloom for ruining a film, but in this case his Hugh Grant-channelling performance pales in comparison to the saccharine, cloying screenplay. Laurence Olivier couldn’t have played that character. A complete shitfest from start to finish. Something about a failed sneaker, an annoying stewardess, a dead father and a fucking musical journey through the heartland. Fuck me, I either like or love all of Cameron Crowe’s flicks, particularly ‘Say Anything’, but this could very well be a career killer.

18. Blood Diamond (2006)

You can see the screenplay being written by committee as you witness this travelogue of political points masquerading as an action flick. Leo “I wear a little beard when I want to look tough” DiCaprio’s worst performance this side of ‘The Man in the Iron Mask’. His shitty Saffa accent fades in and out, then somewhere along the way he learns that Saffa’s call each other ‘Bru’. So every subsequent line of dialogue is littered with it. It’s “Bru this” and “Bru that”. Eh Bru, don’t ya know that’s fucking annoying?. And the romance with the skeleton formerly known as Jennifer Connelly is forced garbage. Poor old Djimon Hounsou. He has made a career of giving great support in aid of dreck.

17. The Sweetest Thing (2002)

A wannabe ‘American Pie’ meets ‘There’s Something About Mary’ with the bad taste ramped up to 11, but the laughs on mute. This is where Cameron Diaz lost me. I thought she was okay before this. Like the dreadful ‘Charlies Angels’ flicks, the forced girl power camaraderie is embarrassing. Getting a dick piercing stuck on your tonsils? Taking a semen stained dress to the dry cleaner and your priest walks in? Chicks fondling one characters plastic tits in the bathroom of a nightclub? Pathetic.

16. The Holiday (2006)

Diaz again! And another effeminate prick from the UK. And tubby bastard Jack Black (who I do usually like). And the completely unlikeable Kate Winslett. Something about her just irritates me. I particularly hated Jude Law, who blubbers his way through the entire running time of this steaming load. What an absolute twat that bloke is.

15. Shrek the Third (2007)

I didn’t like Shrek very much. It was saved by Donkey. Shrek 2 stank even worse. Puss in Boots got me through it. But this piece of shit doesn’t even pretend to have a storyline that means anything. Shrek goes to get some dorky kid. Shrek brings him back. This is just such a lazy goddamn cashgrab. Completely devoid of any entertainment value. It’s a sickening experience.

Here you have two of the greatest actors in living memory, giving horrendous performances in a pathetically obvious and boring cop thriller. Honestly, what the were they thinking? Jon Avnet can go fuck himself. Not only did he direct this turkey, but he also directed ‘88 Minutes’ which is not on this list because I didn’t really want to double up on two shithouse thrillers starring the blow waved Pacino. I chose this one because it not only wastes De Niro and Pacino, it also wastes the gorgeous Carla Gugino.

13. The Spirit (2008)

Holy shit, if you haven’t seen this, I’m jealous. It’s just as bad as you’ve heard. It proves beyond a doubt that Frank Miller is a complete bag of cocks. It wants desperately to be ‘Sin City’ cool, but fails in every aspect. The scene where Samuel L. Jackson is dressed up as a Nazi has to be seen to be believed. And Miller must’ve thought it was brilliant because the fucking scene goes on forever! And why the fuck do these two keep fighting each other? Neither The Spirit nor Jacksons character can even get injured, yet they keep pounding on each other. It’s just tedious and idiotic. Fuck off Miller, you prick.

12. The Break-Up (2006)

Honestly, if I want to experience two hours of two people arguing, I’ll get back with my ex-girlfriend. What is this supposed to be? A comedy? Cause it sure ain’t funny. A drama? Cause who gives a shit about two selfish idiots without any redeeming factors? Motormouth Vaughn’s schtick is getting so old it’s beyond a joke. On an related note, if they ever do a bio of Quentin “I suffer from gigantism” Tarantino, I nominate Vaughn and his mellon head for the job.

Or as I like to call it, ‘Enemy of the I, Robot’. When will people learn? Shia La Fucking Beef is not an action hero! DJ Caruso, who has the most annoying name this side of McG, just apes other, more talented directors in every flick he does. This is absolute shit. I can immediately think of a way to vastly improve it. Switch around the roles. Move Rosario Dawson to the La Beef character, swap Billy Bob Thornton and Michelle Monaghan, and move Michael Chiklis to Dawson. And fuck La Beef right off. It would still be a shit, intelligence insulting exercise in mass marketing, but at the very least we’d get decent actors in the roles. And don’t have that fucking tacked on scene at the end when two people that we’ve just watched fot two hours and have zero chemistry and obviously dislike each other get bloody cosy. You didn’t earn that goddamn scene. Fuck off DJ.

God Mike Myers is a mugging prick. Unless he makes Waynes World 3, he can fuck off back to Canada. No, scratch that. He can fuck off anyway. There is so much desperation in this flick it’s painful to watch. He stops every minute and a half to stare straight into camera and try to mug a chuckle out of you. There is a character in this, played by Sir Ben Kingsley, named Guru Tugginmypuda. Jesus christ. Even Alba looks embarrassed to be in this bowl movement.

8. The Village (2004)

This is the first M. Night I hated. I like Sixth Sense and Signs, and I love Unbreakable. I absolutely loathe this shitheap. The twist sucks. It’s boring. Brody as the tard is mind-bogglingly annoying, nutbar hairlip looks like he doesn’t want to be there at all (I don’t blame him) and the reason for living the way they do never really made any sense. I seriously think this would’ve been better if it was a straight up horror flick. The woods had real monsters and it really was the 1800’s or whenever it was supposed to be. As it stands, it’s not. And it set the trend for M. Night’s career trajectory.

7. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

I like Michael Bay movies. There, I said it. I have a unexplainable love of The Island. Maybe it’s Johannson’s lips. I don’t know. But it features the Bayhem speciality of shit rolling off the back of a truck into oncoming traffic. No one does it better. I kind of enjoyed the first Transformers flick. It was about as good as I could expect from a movie about giant, shape-shifting alien robots punching each other over the ownership of a rubix cube. But in their desperation to capitalise on the first flicks unlikely box office, they rushed this piece of shit into production without a script that makes a lick of sense. So much is crammed in to it, and nothing means anything. Nothing makes sense. Why are the robots organic? How does a robot simulate human flesh? Why build up a two and a half hour movie to have the ultimate showdown with the king of the Decepticons then have him get his ass kicked in about two minutes? Robots humping legs? A robot with a cane? Robots that vacuum sand like Megan Fox vacuumed cock to get the role in the first one? This is such a headache inducing experience. Hate is not a strong enough word

The Farrelly Brothers have made three awesome comedies, Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin (my fav) and There’s Something About Mary. This pile of excrement has just one likeable character. Michelle Monaghan is too good for this shit. There’s a point early in the movie where Stillers at the wedding of his ex and in his speech her father says that Stiller’s character is an asshole. Too fucking right. His character is such a selfish dick that you actually feel sorry for his new wife! And she’s supposed to be the nightmare! Poor Malin Akerman and Monaghan. This is what up and coming actresses have to deal with in Hollywood. Either humiliated in loathsome “comedies” or running around dodging fireballs in shithouse action movies. Both deserve better.

Denzel is a great actor. He can elevate bad material to a watchable level. ‘The Bone Collector’ for example. But he stars in bad flicks ALL THE FUCKING TIME. I’m sick of it. This one-sided, manipulative liberal mouthpiece of a movie could’ve been written my Michael Moore. The “good guys” are made to be so sympathetic and the bad guys so emotionless and evil it’s a stomach churning watch. I remember taking a sickie off work and wondering what to do with my day. I decided I’d go down to the local cinema and check out a movie. And this is what I saw. It’s was so maddening that I wished a painful death on everyone involved.

I hated the first Deuce Bigelow. I hate Rob Schneider. Why did I bother watching this shit? He goes to Amsterdam and becomes a man-whore for a bunch of fucking freaks. But in the first one, the freaks were tall, fat or legless. Most of the freaks in this one have no basis in reality. One has a dick on her nose for fucks sake! Schneider is an unfunny little prick and can die a horrible death for all I care.

Fuck Ridley Scott. Fuck Thomas Harris. Fuck Anthony Hopkins. Good on Jodie Foster. She’s the only one that had any sense beyond drooling over a mound of cash as they shit all over one of the greatest cinematic icons of the past 20 years. Fuck Harris doubly because he did it AGAIN with that prequel (which I never bothered watching). I almost walked out of this flick after 15 minutes. I could see the writing on the wall. But I’d paid my 10 bucks and rationalised that if I didn’t walk out on GI Jane (another horrendous Scott flick) I couldn’t justify walking out on anything. This has a brilliant cast, a director who can occasionally knock it out of the park and all the money in the world. It’s a complete and utter failure on every level. It’s not intelligent or involving like The Silence of The Lambs. It’s not atmospheric or exciting like Manhunter. It’s a cynical goddamn cashgrab and it’s a dirty great skidmark on the careers of everyone involved.

I honestly don’t think Vin Diesels made a flick I really like. His best effort by far is Pitch Black which was made infinitely better by having the balls to kill the chick right at the end. Rob Cohen is an awful, awful director. I liked Dragonheart at the time, but now if I’m afraid to watch it again. This braindead hunk of shit begins with a ‘move over James Bond’ scene that’s embarrassing, obvious and moronic. And it’s all downhill from there. It’s so desperate to be hip and cool. But in reality it’s sad, stupid and ugly. When will Hollywood learn that although the Czech Republic is a cheap place to shoot, unless you’re doing a flick about the dawn of time, import actors from elsewhere in Europe. Looking at these neanderthals for two hours is quite simply off-putting. And once you’ve seen the biggest neanderthal of them all ’shaking with rage’ while looking through x-ray goggles’, I dare say Prague won’t be high on your ‘must visit’ list.

Here we have it. The worst movie of the decade. This piece of shit is so smug and condescending it’s infuriating. But I only merely hated it up until the point of the “have Julia Roberts pretend to be Julia Roberts” scene. That scene is THE biggest kick in the nuts while you’re down I’ve ever witnessed. IT’S NOT FUCKING CLEVER. It’s a pathetic act of desperation. There’s more mugging in this flick than the entire Mike Myers and Schneider back catalogue combined! Why is Brad Pitt eating in every fucking scene? It’s embarrassing how much back-slapping and “Wow, aren’t we funny and clever.” there is in this trash. And worst of all it wastes a fucking awesome cast. Finney, Cassel, Willis, Garcia, Izzard and Coltrane. Soderbergh is a pretentious little prick. He’s so far up himself his films reek of shit. The only one I think is brilliant is ‘Out of Sight’. I hated, loathed, despised this movie.

INTRODUCTION J.L. Tongues has become the most misu

                                                  INTRODUCTION

J.L. Tongues has become the most misunderstood, misused and finally the most spiritually abused of all the Spiritual Gifts. No one other than the HOLY Spirit has been given the ability to, or to put it more bluntly, the authority to teach how to talk in tongues. And HE does not teach it but gives it to the people that need it as a SPIRITUAL GIFT, not teaching, when they are doing the LORD’S Work. Not all Spiritual Christian People have it as one of their Spiritual Gifts. GOD and the HOLY SPIRIT choose who gets it, not church people or pastors. It is definitely not required for Salvation or a Spiritual Role in the Church. Again I must state that it is a Spiritual Gift that will be given to you if it is required/needed for you to carry out your Spiritual Job given ( called ) to you by GOD to do. You will never be undersupplied by Spiritual Gifts to do GOD’S Work by a Perfect GOD.

J.L. Tongues ( KJV ), Languages ( GWT ) and Communications are all about Spiritual Communication with GOD on a individual or corporate basis. If you do not have GOD’S Righteousness , HIS Approval, you will probably not receive the Spiritual Gift of Tongues, you will probably not have good communications with GOD or you will have communications not to your liking. For those HE loves HE will definitely correct.

HEBREWS 12 4You struggle against sin, but your struggles haven’t killed you. 5You have forgotten the encouraging words that God speaks to you as his children:

“My child, pay attention when the Lord disciplines you. Don’t give up when he corrects you. 6 The Lord disciplines everyone he loves.

……..He severely disciplines everyone he accepts as his child.”……..

7Endure your discipline. God corrects you as a father corrects his children. All children are disciplined by their fathers. 8If you aren’t disciplined like the other children, you aren’t part of the family. 9On earth we have fathers who disciplined us, and we respect them. Shouldn’t we place ourselves under the authority of God, the father of spirits, so that we will live? 10For a short time our fathers disciplined us as they thought best. Yet, God disciplines us for our own good so that we can become holy like him. 11We don’t enjoy being disciplined. It always seems to cause more pain than joy. But later on, those who learn from that discipline have peace that comes from doing what is right.

SPIRITUAL COMMUNICATIONS WITH GOD

J.L. All Born again Believers have this ability to speak this way with GOD directly. This is not tongues or languages. This is Communications with GOD with or without speech. This is us meeting GOD and GOD meeting us, on any conditions that you find yourself in. The Holy Spirit is your intercessor. This can take place under in any and all weaknesses, health conditions, mental state, deep pain or depression, physical, mental or Spiritual….GOD, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit will never leave you or forsake you and they are just a prayer away if you are able to pray or not ….The Spirit will intercede if you can not pray. This Spiritual Communication is completely under the HOLY SPIRIT’S and GOD’S Control.

J.L. These Communications of a Born Again Believer are between our human “soul spirit” and the HOLY SPIRIT. This is Spiritual Language that no human, including the Believer, understands and can interpret, it is purely Spiritual. This language or tongue will never cease. It is our method to Spiritually Communicate with GOD.

1 CORINTHIANS 14 1Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially the gift of speaking what God has revealed. ……2When a person speaks in another language( tongues ), he doesn’t speak to people…… but to God……. No one understands him……. His spirit is speaking mysteries………

ROMANS 8 26At the same time the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we don’t know how to pray for what we need…… But the Spirit intercedes along with our groans that “cannot be expressed in words”……. 27The one who searches our hearts knows what the Spirit has in mind…….. The Spirit intercedes for God’s people the way God wants him to.

EPHESIANS 6 18Pray in the Spirit in every situation. Use every kind of prayer and request there is. For the same reason be alert. Use every kind of effort and make every kind of request for all of God’s people.

J.L. This is the point in your life when the “footprints in the sand” are the deepest because HE is carrying you.

J.L. In 1 SAMUEL 1, it states that Spiritual visions and dreams were very infrequent because of the corruption at the head of the church which was relating to Eli and his 2 sons. Could this be the reason today that we don’t hear from the heads of our churches about visions and dreams. Has the Spirit stopped it’s activity? Or could it be that the “communication” between the pastor and GOD has dried up or was never there? What would happen if a pastor had an intimate relationship with GOD that challenged the pastor to hear a message from GOD and relay that message directly to the people, a message that was not politically correct. Or go to a level down and listen to a prophet old testament, new testament or one in his congregation that gave him a direction that he should take the congregation because he was not listening to GOD himself. What would happen if the pastor actually communicated with GOD as Paul did in 2 CORINTHIANS 12 ? Would his sermons change ?

2 CORINTHIANS 12 I’ll go on to…. visions and revelations from the Lord….. 2I know a follower of Christ who was snatched away to the third heaven fourteen years ago. I don’t know whether this happened to him physically or spiritually. Only God knows. 3I know that this person 4was snatched away to paradise…… where he heard things that can’t be expressed in words, things that humans cannot put into words…….. I don’t know whether this happened to him physically or spiritually. Only God knows.

J.L. Please note that the below passages talk in terms of new tongues and new languages as if the tongues and languages had not been heard before. Such as Spiritual languages and tongues.

MARK 16 17“These are the miraculous signs that will accompany believers: They will use the power and authority of my name to force demons out of people….. They will speak new languages…… 18They will pick up snakes, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them. They will place their hands on the sick and cure them.”

( KJV ) 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;….. they shall speak with new tongues;

J.L. The below event seems to describe a Spiritual Event that happened where the HOLY SPIRIT came down on each one of a group of Believers as fingers of SPIRITUAL FIRE and they began to speak in other languages as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak. They were actually translating the GOOD NEWS by telling about the miracles that God has done.” into various native dialects and languages.

This is not SPIRITUAL TONGUES OR LANGUAGES, this is translation and/or interpretation done by Spiritual-Filled men.

Acts 2 1When Pentecost, the fiftieth day after Passover, came, all the believers were together in one place. 2Suddenly, a sound like a violently blowing wind came from the sky and filled the whole house where they were staying. 3Tongues that looked like fire appeared to them……. The tongues arranged themselves so that one came to rest on each believer….. 4All the believers were…. filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak…….

5Devout Jewish men from every nation were living in Jerusalem. 6They gathered when they heard the wind…… Each person was startled to recognize his own dialect when the disciples spoke…..

7Stunned and amazed, the people in the crowd said, “All of these men who are speaking are Galileans……. 8Why do we hear them speaking in our native dialects? …..9We’re Parthians, Medes, and Elamites. We’re people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, the province of Asia, 10Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the country near Cyrene in Libya. We’re Jewish people, converts to Judaism, and visitors from Rome, 11Crete, and Arabia…… We hear these men in our own languages as they tell about the miracles that God has done.”……

( KJV ) 3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them……. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance……

( KJV ) And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded,….. because that every man heard them speak in his own language…… 7And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11Cretes and Arabians,…… we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God…… 12And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 13Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

J.L. These next passages are a discussion of translators, translations and interpreting the WORD of GOD

1 CORINTHIANS 12 10Another can work miracles. Another can speak what God has revealed. Another can tell the difference between spirits……. Another can speak in different kinds of languages…… Another can interpret languages. 11There is only one Spirit who does all these things by giving what God wants to give to each person.

27You are Christ’s body and each of you is an individual part of it. 28In the church God has appointed first apostles, next prophets, third teachers, then those who perform miracles, then those who have the gift of healing, then those who help others, those who are managers, ….and those who can speak in a number of languages…… 29Not all believers are apostles, are they? Are all of them prophets? Do all of them teach? Do all of them perform miracles 30or have gifts of healing?…… Can all of them speak in other languages or interpret languages?……

1 CORINTHIANS 12 ( KJV ) 10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits;….. to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:…… 11But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

( KJV ) 27Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30Have all the gifts of healing?……. do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?…… 31But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.

J.L. The below passages talk about the languages of humans and Angels. The human part I will not discuss. The languages of Angels we will discuss because it directly replies to a spiritual language, good or Evil. There were fallen angels and GOOD Angels both were spiritual and both had direct dealings with GOD. Verse 1 describes a person, “I” , that spoke with not only a human language but an Angelic language. The word is languages and is plural, so the person spoke with both languages. If we follow through with the Angel language than we will have to separate the language into the GOOD Angel language and the fallen angel language . We will only discuss the GOOD Angel language which will be the Spiritual Language of a Believer, TONGUES.

J.L. Angels worship, sing, prophesy and praise the LORD with their language so the Believer that has the Spiritual Gift of TONGUES will use it for the same purpose. There is the gift of speaking in other languages, but it will stop by itself.

J.L. TONGUES will stop when there is no need for it to be used , when we are with the LORD.

1 Corinthians 13 1I may speak in the languages of humans and of angels. But if I don’t have love, I am a loud gong or a clashing cymbal.8Love never comes to an end. There is the gift of speaking what God has revealed, but it will no longer be used. There is the gift of speaking in other languages, but it will stop by itself. There is the gift of knowledge, but it will no longer be used. 9Our knowledge is incomplete and our ability to speak what God has revealed is incomplete….. 10But when what is complete comes, then what is incomplete will no longer be used…… 11When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, and reasoned like a child. When I became an adult, I no longer used childish ways. 12Now we see a blurred image in a mirror. Then we will see very clearly. Now my knowledge is incomplete. Then I will have complete knowledge as God has complete knowledge of me.

1 CORINTHIANS 13 ( KJV ) 1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

( KJV ) 8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

J.L. All this will apply when we have joined with our Lord in Heaven.

EPHESIANS 6 “18Pray in the Spirit” in every situation. Use every kind of prayer and request there is. For the same reason be alert. Use every kind of effort and make every kind of request for all of God’s people.

The next lesson will tell how tongues/ languages will be used for the LORD’S work.

It is the story of a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead as the SPIRIT (Gabriel Macht) to fight crime from the shadows of Central City. His arch-enemy, the OCTOPUS (Samuel L. Jackson) has a different mission: he’s going to wipe out Spirit’s beloved city as he pursues his own version of immortality. The Spirit tracks this cold-hearted killer from Central City’s rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront … all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill our masked crusader. Surrounding him at every turn are ELLEN DOLAN (Sarah Paulson), the whip-smart girl-next-door; SILKEN FLOSS (Scarlett Johansson), a punk secretary and frigid vixen; PLASTER OF PARIS (Paz Vega), a murderous French nightclub dancer; LORELEI (Jaime King), a phantom siren; and MORGENSTERN (Stana Katic), a sexy young cop. Then of course, there’s SAND SAREF (Eva Mendes), the jewel thief with dangerous curves. She’s the love of his life turned bad. Will he save her or will she kill him? In the vein of BATMAN BEGINS and SIN CITY, THE SPIRIT takes us on a sinister, gut-wrenching ride with a hero who is born, murdered and born again. –© Lionsgate Films

If Graphic Novels are your thing, the very popular Will Eisner series The Spirit was released as a film this year, but has unfortunately been tagged one of worst films of 2009.

But wait there’s more!

There’s plenty I’ve missed, tell us what others you have enjoyed this year or are looking forward to being released in 2010?

Which do you think was better, the book or the film? If you haven’t yet read the book, come to the library, grab a copy and make up your own mind which was better.

The Spirit nas mãos de Frank Miller me decepcionou. Quer dizer, eu já sabia que o filme era ruim, mas o nome dele na direção me deu esperanças. Falsas esperanças. Esse filme não é ruim. É galhofa-trash! O horror! O horror!

Infelizmente Frank Miller não conseguiu imprimir a marca The Spirit no filme.

MEDITATION……..The preparation for Spiritual Warfare …. “Meditate on the WORD day and night”.

HEBREWS 11 6No one can please God without faith…… Whoever goes to God must believe that God exists…… and that he rewards those who seek him.

Where the POWER comes from in the WORD of GOD.

JOHN 1 “The Word” Becomes Human 1In the beginning “the Word” already existed. “The Word” was with God, and “the Word” was God. 2He was already with God in the beginning.

3Everything came into existence through him. Not one thing that exists was made without him.

4He was the source of life, and that life was the light for humanity.

5The light shines in the dark, and the dark has never extinguished it.£

6God sent a man named John to be his messenger. 7John came to declare the truth about the light so that everyone would become believers through his message. 8John was not the light, but he came to declare the truth about the light.

9The real light, which shines on everyone, was coming into the world. 10He was in the world, and the world came into existence through him. Yet, the world didn’t recognize him. 11He went to his own people, and his own people didn’t accept him. 12However, he gave the right to become God’s children to everyone who believed in him. 13These people didn’t become God’s children in a physical way—from a human impulse or from a husband’s desire ëto have a childû. They were born from God.

14The Word became human and lived among us. We saw his glory. It was the glory that the Father shares with his only Son, a glory full of kindness£ and truth.

15(John declared the truth about him when he said loudly, “This is the person about whom I said, ‘The one who comes after me was before me because he existed before I did.’”)

16Each of us has received one gift after another because of all that THE Word is. 17The Teachings were given through Moses, but kindness and truth came into existence through Jesus Christ. 18No one has ever seen God. God’s only Son, the one who is closest to the Father’s heart, has made him known.

THE WORD AS SPIRITUAL SURGERY

HEBREWS 4 12God’s word is living and active. It is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts as deep as the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet. God’s word judges a person’s thoughts and intentions. 13No creature can hide from God. Everything is uncovered and exposed for him to see. We must answer to him.

2 TIMOTHY 3 14However, continue in what you have learned and found to be true. You know who your teachers were. 15From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures

( THE WORD ).

—————————————————————————————-

GOD has always used people filled with the SPIRIT of GOD to do special things for HIM. Bezalel was one such person that GOD used to create the special vessels used in the TENT OF MEETING. That same SPIRIT OF GOD was used by GOD to create the inspired WORD OF GOD that we know as the OLD and NEW TESTAMENT using men that were filled by the SPIRIT of GOD. What does that mean for us today that are filled with THE HOLY SPIRIT and wish to MEDITATE in GOD’S WORD. For us to answer that, we must realize what we are, after we are “BORN– AGAIN”. We are filled with the HOLY SPIRIT and we have become part of the WORLD OF THE HOLY SPIRIT and deal in SPIRITUAL THINGS. The secular world does not understand us.

JOHN 3. 6Flesh and blood give birth to flesh and blood, but the Spirit gives birth to things that are spiritual. 7Don’t be surprised when I tell you that all of you must be born from above. 8The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you don’t know where the wind comes from or where it’s going. That’s the way it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

:John 4:23-24, niv Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. ……..God is spirit,….. and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

“God is spirit” means HE is not a physical being limited to one place. He is present everywhere, and HE can be worshiped anywhere, at any time The Holy Spirit helps us worship God.

Psalm 1:2, (tlb) But they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely.

PSALM 63 6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches

Joshua 1:8 ( niv ) Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful

JOHN 14 : 15-17 If you love me, obey me; and I will ask the Father and he will give you another Comforter, and he will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, for it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you do, for he lives with you now and some day shall be in you.

JOHN 26 26However, the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything. He will remind you of everything that I have ever told you.

JOHN 15 26“The helper whom I will send to you from the Father will come. This helper, the Spirit of Truth who comes from the Father, will declare the truth about me.

JOHN 16 13When the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into the full truth. He won’t speak on his own. He will speak what he hears and will tell you about things to come. 14He will give me glory, because he will tell you what I say. 15Everything the Father says is also what I say. That is why I said, ‘He will take what I say and tell it to you.’

1 CORINTHIANS 2 6However, we do use wisdom to speak to those who are mature. It is a wisdom that doesn’t belong to this world or to the rulers of this world who are in power today and gone tomorrow. 7We speak about the mystery of God’s wisdom. It is a wisdom that has been hidden, which God had planned for our glory before the world began. 8Not one of the rulers of this world has known it. If they had, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory. 9But as Scripture says:

“No eye has seen,

no ear has heard,

and no mind has imagined

the things that God has prepared

for those who love him.”

10God has revealed those things to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches everything, especially the deep things of God. 11After all, who knows everything about a person except that person’s own spirit? In the same way, no one has known everything about God except God’s Spirit. 12Now, we didn’t receive the spirit that belongs to the world. Instead, we received the Spirit who comes from God so that we could know the things which God has freely given us. 13We don’t speak about these things using teachings that are based on intellectual arguments like people do. Instead, we use the Spirit’s teachings. We explain spiritual things to those who have the Spirit.£

14A person who isn’t spiritual doesn’t accept the teachings of God’s Spirit. He thinks they’re nonsense. He can’t understand them because a person must be spiritual to evaluate them. 15Spiritual people evaluate everything but are subject to no one’s evaluation.

16 “Who has known the mind of the Lord so that he can teach him?”

However, we have the mind of Christ.

Fact, in JOHN 1 JESUS CHRIST is THE WORD from the beginning of TIME, before the world was formed and HE created the world and all that was in it including THE WORD .

When JESUS CHRIST , THE SPIRIT of GOD and THE HOLY SPIRIT were in the writers of the SCRIPTURES under the inspiration of GOD, than THE HOLY SPIRIT actually became part of the WORD of GOD. THE BIBLE than became THE HOLY BIBLE because of the presences of THE HOLY SPIRIT in THE WORD of GOD. When we MEDITATE on THE WORD of GOD under the POWER of THE HOLY SPIRIT, we can release the SPIRIT of GOD or THE HOLY SPIRIT that inspired the original scripture writers because it is the same SPIRIT that we are filled with when we accepted JESUS as our SAVIOR and LORD. We are ONE in the same SPIRIT.

Because we live in THE WORLD of THE HOLY SPIRIT, we can ask THE HOLY SPIRIT to teach us what was THE TRUTH that THE LORD intended us to know as we read THE HOLY SCRIPTURES so we can apply it to our lives today. THE HOLY SPIRIT has the ability to speak to us, because HE is part of GOD and GOD speaks to us.

2 Timothy 2:7, niv Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.

The PATHWAY to MEDITATION of GOD’S WORD

The letter of the LAW kills, but THE SPIRIT in THE TRUTH ( GOD’S

LAW ) gives LIFE.

2 CORINTHIANS 3: 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life

The LORD wasn’t in the thunderous mountain storm with the wind and the rain and HE wasn’t in the huge earthquake nor was HE in the blazing fire but after the fire there was a wee whispering Voice in the still of the night and IT was HE.

How do we make THE SPIRIT in THE TRUTH speak to us in the wee whispering Voice giving us insight into THE SCRIPTURES. All we have to do is pray before , during and after reading THE SCRIPTURES, asking THE HOLY SPIRIT to be our TEACHER. Let THE HOLY SPIRIT reveal to us what HE inspired the scriptural writer to say in the WORDS HE wrote. HE holds the SPIRITUAL SECRETS and MYSTERIES to be revealed in the SPIRITUAL WORDS. Always remember that when we accepted JESUS CHRIST as our SAVIOR and LORD , we became MEN in a SPIRITUAL WORLD. OUR LEADER and TEACHER in that WORLD is THE HOLY SPIRIT . The secular world does not understand the things of THE WORLD of THE HOLY SPIRIT and they think it is all nonsense.

Apply what I stated above using some paragraphs of SCRIPTURE that I have used before.

PRAY 1ST that THE HOLY SPIRIT will reveal to you what lesson you are to learn from the scriptures. Read the paragraphs through a couple of times listen to what the SPIRIT in THE WORDS is trying to say. You may want to break them down to sentences, then phases and finally to individually words, periods and punctuation to get the TRUE SPIRITUAL MEANING. THE SPIRIT of GOD you prayed to at 1st will give you THE TRUTH in THE WORDS.

THE HOLY SPIRIT meets each of our needs as HE sees them. THE HOLY SPIRIT sees all and knows all and will meet our needs as HE sees them .

THEN THERE IS THE CROSSOVER BETWEEN THE PHYSICAL AND THE SPIRITUAL, MEDITATION and PRAYER, MEDITATING and PRAYING in THE SPIRIT, VISIONS, DREAMS, REVELATIONS

( 1 THESSALONIANS. 5 19″Quench not the Spirit”……. 20Despise not prophesyings )

and the DEEP THINGS of GOD. MEDITATING and PRAYING in the SPIRIT is the “Pathway to get there”. If you want to be BLESSED with this Pathway, than you will have to ….“live your life”…..so that you will have …..“GOD’S Approval”….. to take it.

1 CORINTHIANS 2 10God has revealed those things to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches everything, “especially the deep things of God”.

12Those who understand ëthese mysteriesû will be given ëmore knowledgeû, and they will excel ëin understanding themû. However, some people don’t understand ëthese mysteriesû. Even what they understand will be taken away from them. 13This is why I speak to them this way. They see, but they’re blind. They hear, but they don’t listen. They don’t even try to understand.

1 CORINTHIANS 4 1People should think of us as servants of Christ and managers who are entrusted with God’s mysteries.

1 CORINTHIANS 13 1I may speak in the languages of humans and of angels. But if I don’t have love, I am a loud gong or a clashing cymbal. 2I may have the gift to speak what God has revealed, and I may understand “all mysteries and have all knowledge”. I may even have enough faith to move mountains. But if I don’t have love, I am nothing.

This is the WORLD of the MYSTIC CHRISTIAN where he/she “desires ” with all his heart, soul, mind and strength to separate himself/ herself from the physical “cares of this world” to the pure SPIRITUAL WORLD of the HOLY SPIRIT. They are, at that time, truly walking, talking and Being in THE PRESENCE of THE LORD. This is not a physical place in this world, but it is a SPIRITUAL PLACE in the WORLD of the HOLY SPIRIT.

1 CORINTHIANS 14 2When a person speaks in another language, he doesn’t speak to people but to God. No one understands him. His spirit is speaking mysteries.

Psalm 46:10 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

“Be Still” before HIM at HIS FEET as Mary was in the story of Mary and Martha. The MYSTIC CHRISTIAN is person that has a relationship with The Spiritual GOD that deals with The MYSTERIES of GOD and The DEEPER Spiritual Things from GOD. GOD reveals These SPIRITUUAL Things to him because of his Intimate Relationship built on obedience to The King of kings and The LORD of lords. My main reason for writing this lesson is to expose to the reader that GOD wants to talk to you directly through HIS WORD ,HIS SPIRIT and maybe audibly and not to be afraid of this very special relationship because it is a relationship for all of us to have as Born-Again Believers. So let it comfort you as you travel This PATHWAY in the SPIRIT to reach your “GOD is a SPIRIT”.

1 John 4:1 But we are children of God; that is why only those who have walked and talked with God will listen to us. Others won’t.

PLEASE NOTE : THIS PART of MEDITATION is a GOD BLESSED SPIRITUAL PATHWAY and not A GOAL.
