I simply can’t get away from ghosts. Even when writing Thomas Riley, which is a steampunk novel, I couldn’t exclude some sort of paranormal activity in the story.

Thomas finds himself in a close quarters firefight when a strange object is struck by a bullet. Instantly and apparently out of thin air, the room drops to near freezing temperatures and all of a sudden the room is packed with strange people lingering about. He has no idea what to think of this odd occurence. While the people are looming around him everything appears as a dream. This defies everything Thomas knows as a scientist which I thought was a fun spin on science vs. spiritualism.

But wait, there’s more! My love for things supernatural is in the first few chapters as well as Thomas and Cynthia have to deal with a dangerous alchemic process that has the power to extract the human soul from the body.

The point is that even steampunk, (alternative Victorian history adventure, romance etc…) can absolutely have elements of fantasy as well as all things supernatural.

Speaking of steampunk, my short story series, The Young Alchemists: Mister Corinth’s laboratory just came out on Echelon Press Shorts. While the first story doesn’t have anything supernatural in it, I’ll give you a fun hint that a robot will make an appearance very soon.
