In Deutschland fehle im Gegensatz zu anderen Ländern die Bereitschaft seitens der Politik und der Provider, solche Ansätze zu realisieren.

Gottfried Honnefelder vom Börsenvereins des Deutschen Buchhandels dazu: “Ich freue mich für alle Urheber, Kreativen und die, die Sorge tragen, dass deren Inhalte verbreitet werden, über das heutige Urteil im Stockholmer Prozess gegen The Pirate Bay.” Danach wird Herr Honnefelder noch konkreter in seinen Aussagen: “Betreiber von Websites, die ausschließlich oder teilweise dem organisierten Diebstahl von geistigem Eigentum Vorschub leisten, handeln kriminell. Ich hoffe, dass diese Entscheidung für den zukünftigen Umgang mit geistigem Eigentum richtungweisend ist, zumindest für Europa. Schützen wir die Kreativen vor solchen Übergriffen.“

John Kennedy, IFPI Chairman & CEO betrachtet das Urteil als das richtige Ergebnis. Ihnen wäre es darum gegangen, die Rechte der Urheber zu verteidigen und die Illegalität des Angebots zu bestätigen. Helen Smith, Executive Chair von IMPALA glaubt zu wissen, dass das Urteil Musik in den Ohren von tausenden kleineren Independents und Künstlern sei.

Andreas Popp, Spitzenkandidat der Piratenpartei in der anstehenden Europawahl, indes kommentierte das Urteil differenziert: “Auch wenn das Urteil überraschend ist, vor allem wenn man in Betracht zieht, wie technisch unversiert die Anklage in den Prozess gegangen ist, so hat es etwas Gutes: Der Weg in höhere Instanzen ist nun frei. Beide Prozessgegner hatten bereits vor der Urteilsverkündung mitgeteilt, in Berufung gehen zu wollen. Vielleicht werden demnächst auch Hersteller von Messern für die damit begangenen Straftaten belangt. Zumindest legt die Argumentation des Schöffengerichts diese Möglichkeit nahe.  Dieser Streit wird durch alle Instanzen laufen, da ist das letzte Wort noch lange nicht gesprochen.

The first thing you’ll want to do is download Utorrent.  Do it now, and then install it.  I’ll wait.

So now you have application you’ll need to access the torrent networks.  Now you’ll want to create a folder to manage your .torrent files.   Put the folder on the desktop for now, you can move it later.  You’ll see what I’m talking about when you get to the next step.

Next, pick some content.  Movie, album, tv show, whatever.  You’ll need to find an index of available content,  and that’s where .torrent sites come in.

There are thousands of torrent sites, but the big ones are really all you need for now.  The Pirate Bay and Mininova are public trackers and you won’t need to register with them to use the site.

Well it is actually only thepiratebay.org. My point is that although the issue of indexing and distribution of copyrighted content might well be the issue of the decade in some circles the decision to ban a website based on an indexing service is very very controversial. The problem is complex and a one web site ban will not solve the problem.

La soluzione che uso io è Tor + privoxy + Firefox + FoxyProxy.
FoxyProxy è fatto proprio bene, permette di definire il proxy per gli URL che volete, inoltre l’URL può essere inserito con wildchar o regexp, non male (-:

TPB är en svenska nedladdnings sida, den är nog den största nedladdnings sida av alla. TPB har just nu 2.741.921 registrerade användare och 1.216.401 torrenter. Man kan söka på nästan vad som helst och få nånting. Det finns sjukt mycket olika grejor att välja på som filmer, serier, musik, musikvideor, program, spel, ljudböcker o massa annat. TPB har många gånger blivit anmälda men eftersom dom ej gör något olagligt så kan dom inte bli fällda. Den ända problemet jag kan tänka mig är om nya bra artister inte har tillräckligt med pengar för att få ut sin musik eller att kunna leva på det.

As reported earlier by torrentfreak here, television episodes have become the number one downloaded torrent category even though tv torrents make up only 10% of torrents available.

Torrentfreak used statistics from sumotorrent.com to show that 49.68% of bittorrent users were downloading an episode of something. Another interesting statistic was that TV viewers were likely to have higher seed ratios than many other categories of downloaders at an average of 1.87.

A separate study of mininova’s statistics shows the most downloaded shows of 2007.

Now, it should be noted this study looked at only the most popular independent torrents from ONLY mininova. Remember how many other torrent sites there are, as well as how many different torrents of the same episode are released by various groups in various formats. It’s very hard to assume what the numbers ACTUALLY are (maybe AC Neilson should study that ) but even if this was it, than that increases Heroes audience for example from 14.3 million viewers in 2007 to 16.7 million viewers, a 16.7% increase. (not to mention all the other versions and trackers)

What I want to know, (and I am sure all of you are asking the same thing) why on God’s green earth do the networks not simply release these online at the same time, in the same method with their ads in tact? If you are an advertiser, don’t you want your ad to be viewed by another 2.5 million people? Of course you do.

The infrastructure already exists for this. NBC et al don’t need to create their own special sites to serve up this content (although they could if they really wanted to) they could simply release the episodes online, on their own, with commercials in tact, and release them as torrents to minimize their own bandwidth costs.

We already know this activity takes place, and people are still watching TV, and buying the DVDs, so what is wrong with the studios making their money off of it? The fact that so many people are doing this shows there is a market for this. People are demanding a product, and the companies who are producing it are not putting it out themselves, so the pirates do.

I agree 100% that we need to find ways to monetize internet distribution. Perhaps having localized torrents for your market. US, Canada, Europe, etc. People would download the torrent from their region, and then get their localized commercials. I think people would be more likely as well to download their localized version because it could be faster than having to download from some guy in New Zealand for example.

There are so many ways to do this, and the technology has been around now for years, its time the industry sobered up, and got on board.

This is the future, deal with it.

Här har vi en klimatberedning som envisas med att försvåra för svenskarna för att minska utsläppen från bilarna, bilar som är en väldigt liiiiten del av utsläppen…  samtidigt uppmärksammas i pressen att två enorma sopberg finns dolda under ytan i de stora haven… vi pratar mängder med plast som inte bryts ner utan istället fungerar som utmärkta redskap för självmordbenägna djur… Dom stackas djuren som vågar sig dit fastnar i eller äter av skräpet… det är inte direkt bra…

Zapowiadają się ciężkie dni dla twórców bardzo popularnego serwisu wymiany plików torrent thepiratebay.org. Szwedzka proukratura chce postawić zarzuty nielegalnego rozpowszechniania treści chronionej przez prawa autorskie przed 31 stycznia 2008 r. Twórcy serwisu przedstawiają sprawe jasno – na ich serwerach nie ma żadnych treści chronionych prawami autorskimi (jedynie pliki torrent’a), a nie po to stwarzali serwis aby teraz go porzucić, jeśli nie w szwecji, to przeniosą go na serwery w innym kraju. Może w końcu komuś się uda przerwać złą passę zamknięć stron dotyczących wymiany plików (suprnova, sharereactor, niedługo może demonoid …)
