O Cine Hall está de volta depois de tanto tempo, não com um estouro das bilheterias dos ultimos tempos, sim com  um “thiller” com a elegância eo charme de poucos que já vi por ai.Instinto secreto (ou Mr. Brooks no original) é daqueles filmes que não o faz desgrudar os olhos da tela, Kevin Costner tambem crava-lhe os olhos de um modo perturbardor mas sedutor ao mesmo tempo, somos capazes de ficar intimo deste homem de familia e profissional respeitado na sociedade, mesmo sabendo que ele é um serial Killer “de luxo” que nunca foi pêgo e nunca será, mas assustador é Marshall,”alter ego” Do Sr.Brooks que aparece sempre como se realmente estivesse ali,curioso temer Marshall, visto que ele não passa de uma vertente da mente do Sr.Brooks, mas volta  e meia nos perguntamos; “quem é Marshall?” e nunca viemos a saber de fato.Temos uma visão panorâmica de como funciona a mente destes assassinos por natureza que volta e meia aparecem nos noticiários norte americanos e dão dor de cabeça ao FBI, que no filme tem a “maozinha” da detetive/policial Demi moore, o tipo de mulher que sempre iriamos querer por perto, ela quase chega a exelência intelectual do Sr. brooks de Costner, se não fosse policial concerteza teria vocação para serial Killer, ela sim daria mais medo que o olhar de homem correto do Sr.brooks. Nada no filme é superficial e é tudo sobre medida incluindo trilha sonora e fotografia, tem a satisfação de uma receita que esta no ponto, suspenses a sim são raros, de tamanho deleite, para nos expectadores que fica a satisfação de saber que o crime perfeito no cinema realmente compensa.

Starring Tom Hanks and directed by Ron Howard. That’s a pretty good start for any movie. I must admit I really didn’t think I would like this movie. Watching I was trying not to like it strange way to see a movie. After watching the movie I thought take away the religious aspect the movie has the mystery of a cop chasing a serial killer. Can you tell I’m not big on religion. Personally as a foundation its good for people to have direction but people can’t keep their hands off and have to mess it all up. Actually the movie hints to my point. It seem strange to me all the violence and then one gesture and its all better. Is it any different from the people in the Roman coliseums. I mean our society wants more what ever it is, if its good give me seven. I speak from personal experience, grateful to still be alive. Back to the movie huh! For any tech geeks you gotta luv the antimatter into the story. The archive building seem pretty modern for a society that frowns on too much science, that was funny to me. Can science answer all the questions I don’t think so. I like to think we are better as a race as we learn more about our selves and the world around us. I can’t seem to stay on track with this movie. The story builds pretty good it had me fooled. I didn’t expect the ending. Ewan McGregor did a good job selling it I think. Tom Hanks had a partner. A very pretty scientist Vittoria Vetra (cool name) played by Ayelet Surer. While I don’t know a lot about the Vatican the story is not new. In order to keep control (like a corporation) there are secrets and the thing they protect is also their weakness. I can’t believe in the story Robert Langdon doesn’t get killed right off, Anybody making that much trouble. I could have easily seen this same movie with just a few changes. Langdon and sexy scientist with their smarts track a serial killer. I think you have a hit for more people to be entertained. Or is it just me! This is so confusing I was entertained ok!

This 8 bit tribute to jacko’s Thiller by Saitone is actually incredible!

Régen láttam igazán élvezhető thillert. Olyat, ahol percről percre nő a feszültség és időnként össze-össze szorítom az álkapcsomat, és mindez nem attól van, hogy a sor közepén ülök és nehéz lenne kibotorkálni a moziból film közben.

Kate ( Vera Farmiga) és John (Peter Saarsgard) nehéz időszakon vannak túl. Harmadik gyermeküket várták, de a kislány halva született. Kate nem bírta a rá nehezedő nyomást, ezért egyre többet ivott. Omladozott körülötte minden, ami fontos. Elveszítette az állását, veszélybe sodorta idősebb gyerekeit. Rájött, hogy ez nem mehet így tovább, és talpra állt. Lassan rendeződtek a dolgok. Úgy döntöttek, hogy a szeretetet, amit Jessicának szántak odaadják valakinek, akinek nagy szüksége van rá.
Szokatlan elhatározás, ha egy pár elhatározza, hogy vérszerinti gyermekei mellé egy idősebb árvát fogad örökbe. A nővérek örömmel fogadták őket, hiszen az iskolás korú gyerekeknek már kevés esélyük van arra, hogy családban nőljenek fel. Az árvaházban John első pillanatásra kiválasztja az elbűvölően bájos és értelmes Esthert (Isabelle Fuhrman). A kislány gyönyörűen énekel, fest és rendkívűl gyorsan tanul. Van valami baljós Abigél nővér arcában, amikor közlik, hogy Esthert szeretnék felnevelni, mégis csupa dícsérő dolgot mond a lányról.
Esther gyorsan beilleszkedik a családba. Szinte az első pillanattól apának és anyának szólítja nevelőszüleit, és boldogan ugrik apja nyakába, ha lehetősége van rá. A 4 éves süketnéma Max (Aryana Engineer) pedig áhítattal követi újdonsült nővérét. A 12 éves Daniel (Jimmy Bennett) azonban kezdettől fogva féltékenyen nézi Esther minden lépését. Az iskolában tovább mélyül az ellenszenv, mert Esher enyhén szólva ódivatú izlése, és viselkedése miatt a többiek céltáblájává válik. Daniel is hallgathatja haverjaitól, hogy milyen degó nővére van. Ettől még dühösebb lesz és még kevésbé fogja vissza magát Esther sértegetésében. A kislány megelégeli ezt, majd nagyon gyorsan elhallgatatja a kellemetlenkedőket.
Katet nyomasztja a lány egyre arrogánsabbá váló viselkedése. Szembesül vele, hogy tulajdonképpen semmit nem tud újdonsült lányáról. Közben Esthernek egyre jobb a kapcsolata Johnnal. Kattel viszont egyre rosszabb. Ráadásul láthatólag egyáltalán nincs szándékában változatatni ezen. Kateben zakatol a rossz érzés, hogy valami nincs rendben, de hosszú ideig nem talál kézzel fogható bizonyítékokat.

Jól kitalált történet, meglepő csavarokkal. Mindig azt hisszük, hogy…, de nem egészen. Amikor már úgy érezzük, hogy mindent tudunk és már csak azért kell izgulnunk, hogy a szereplők is rájöjjenek az igazságra, rá kell döbbennünk, hogy tévedtünk. A The Orphan nagyon okosan és lassan adagolja az információkat mind a nézők, mind a szereplők számára. Mindig egy kicsit többet tudunk Katenél, de épp csak annyival, hogy drukkolhassunk neki, hogy ő is rájöjjön, és még mi is meglepődjünk egy új információn.  Természetesnek vetted, hogy van családod-mondja Esther Katenek. Csak a film legvégén értjük meg, hogy igazából mennyi év keserűsége gyűlt össze ebben mondatban, mint ahogy az egész történet is más megvilágításba kerül az utolsó 15 percben. Akkora a csavar, hogy beleszédülünk. Annyi jelet potyogtattak el útközben, hogy nem erőltetett, de ezeket a jeleket csak visszafelé haladva fedezhetjük fel. Olyan, mint amikor arra számítunk, hogy a bűvész egy kalapból elővarázsolt nyuszival lep meg minket, de helyette a zsebéből ugrik elő, száz foggal mosolyogva egy kifejlett krokodil, tapsifülekkel a feje tetején.

A másik jó értelemben vett feszültségforrás a három női szereplő kiváló játékában rejlik. Vera Farmiga (Kate) a családjáért talpra állt és a családjáért küzdő nő szepében nagyszerűen alakít. Isabelle Fuhrman pedig tökéletes választás volt Esther szerepére. A különleges arccal megáldott színésznő képes elérni, hogy a hideg végigfusson a néző hátán, csupán a puszta tekintetétől. A nehéz sorsú koravén kislánytól eljut a szociopata őrültig. A Maxet alakító Aryana Engineer pedig szintén nagyszerűen alakítja az egyre ijedtebb, süketnéma kislányt. Jaume Collet-Serranak nevét, akit eddig, mint a Viasztestek rendezőjét ismerhettünk, mostantól valószínűleg még többen jegyzik meg.

Mi húzódik meg a felszín alatt? -Kérdezi tulajdonképpen a film. Ebben az esetben ez nem egy költői kérdés, hiszen ha lekapcsolják a villanyt Esther festményei is megmutatják valódi arcukat. Épp úgy, ahogy a film végére az ő igazi énje is láthatóvá válik.

Dispel The Mist – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat

‘Her next dream was a nightmare. Tempe knew she was on the reservation, but it was different looking as familiar places often are in dreams. The buildings all seemed dilapidated and badly in need of repair through she couldn’t see them clearly because of a swirling grayish-yellow mist surrounded everything. Jagged black mountain peaks poked through the clouds. Though she was alone a feeling of menace was so prevalent, she could almost smell it.

Without warning, a large man who resembled Cruz Murphy stepped out of the fog. He held up a hand, palm out. “Stop. Danger ahead.”‘

Lilia Quintera is a Tulare County Supervisor who won her election due to her being a descendant of both Mexican and Native American. She was a big help in bringing a casino to the reservation, allowing jobs and a better life for those living on the reservation as well as the city. But when she is put into a position to support the proposal of a new hotel with a golf course and all the amenities that go with it, she refuses to conform to their plans without more research on it’s effect on the community. So when Lilia Quintera dies from what seems to be natural causes, Tempe Crabtree is brought in to help gather clues and evidence pending the autopsy.

Who would want Lilia dead? Her husband Wade, who is several years younger as well as a ladies man and may gain from her death through inheritance is a suspect. Her sister Connie, who’s daughter Suzy at the advice of Lilia, will be moving to a residential facility called Shadow Hills, Shadow Hills will house young ladies who are mentally challenged. Plus, feelings of jealousy for all of the decisions as to the welfare of Suzy might make Connie want to see Lilia dead, making her a suspect. There is Duane Whitney who lives in the neighborhood where Shadow Hill will open. He feels it will bring down the value of his property, so with Lilia publicly supporting the facility may make him want her dead, making him another suspect. And then there are the Native Americans who feel that Lilia should support the building of the Hotel, feeling it will bring more opportunities for the reservation. Many of them can be considered suspects.

Follow Tempe as she sorts through the facts and gossip, as she encounters the hostility of those on her on her list of suspects, as she sorts through the clues hidden in her own dreams and as she tries to understand the role that Hairy Man plays into it all . Is he real or just a fable?

I’ve enjoyed this book so much, with it’s mystery as well as history, that I find myself wanting to learn even more about the myths and fables of the American Indians.

Egy hosszúra nyúlt munkanap után valami béna b horrort szerettünk volna nézni. A cím és a plakát alapján ideális választásnak tűnt a Deadgirl című szösszenet. Néha elkövetem azt a hibát, hogy megnézem, hogy imdb-n mennyire értékelnek egy filmet. Ritkán értek vele egyet, de ránézek. Ez a film jelenleg 6 csillagos értékelésnél tart. Meg sem lepődök, pedig remek kis horror/melodráma/vígjáték/thiller egyvelegről van szó.

Az alapötlet viszonylag egyszerű. Rickie (Shiloh Fernandez) és J.T. (Noah Segan) unottan tengeti hétköznapjait egy poros kisvárosban. Suliba járnak, néha megisznak egy sört, füveznek, bámulják a csajokat, egyszóval 2 teljesen átlagosnak tűnő 17 éves srácról van szó. Rickie reménytelenül szerelmes iskolatársnőjébe, J. T. pedig nagyhangú bajkeverő. Van még egy közös haverjuk Wheeler (Eric Podnar), akinek a főtevékenysége a füvezésben merül ki.
Egyik nap Rickie és J.T. a régi romos kórházba mennek lazítani. Isznak, vandálkodnak. Találnak egy eltorlaszolt ajtót, természetesen megnézik, hogy mi rejtőzik mögötte.

A szoba  egy leláncolt női holttestet rejt. Rickie megrémül és lelép. J. T. viszont felpörög, hogy végre valami érdekes történik. Kiderül, hogy a lány nem igazán halott, de nem is igazán élő. Mozog, lélegzik… és hullafoltjai vannak. Nem beszél, láthatólag nem is érti őket. J. T. elveszíti az eszét, megpróbálja “megölni” a lányt, de az nem “hal” meg. Ugyanabban az öntudatlan állapotban vonaglik tovább. Rickie még jobban megrémül, J. T. még jobban felpörög, a lány a mániájává válik. A “nő”, akivel bármit megtehet.  Beköltözik a terembe, napjában többször megerőszakolja a testet.  Épp úgy mint a szereplők, a néző sem tudja hova tenni a lányt. Érez bármit is? Többnyire úgy tűnik, hogy nem. Rángatózó üres test.  J. T. is úgy gondolja, hogy ő nem erőszakol meg senkit, hiszen a lány halott. Persze nem is nekrofil, mert mozog és meleg.  Ha voltak is a srácnak valaha morális gátlásai, innentől végképp kimúlnak. Egyáltalán nem érez semmi rosszat abban amit tesz. Egyáltalán nem is érdekli. Sőt, egyre tovább megy. Igyekszik haverjait is bevonni a játékba. Wheeler nem ellenkezik, Rickie viszont nem megy bele a dologba. J.T. folyamatosan igyekszik meggyőzni Rickiet, aki viszont egyre inkább megundorodik haverjától. Ez a film egyik fő konfliktusa, ami kicsit később vázolódik fel, mint a másik fő szál, amiben Rickie igyekszik elnyerni JoAnn (Candice Accola) szerelmét.

A film elején elgondolkodtam.  Lehet, hogy ez nem is egy horror? Nem sok mutatott arra, hogy itt egy horror történet fog kibontakozni. Inkább egy érzelmes, lassan felépített dráma. Ez a hangulat még deadgirl megtalálása után is megmarad. Azon kívül, hogy Rickie-t egyre jobban nyomasztja a helyzet, semmi nem utalt arra, hogy ebből nagy baj lesz. Olyan mintha a halott lány az csak egy kósza odatévedt elem lenne, ami felszínre hoz egy amúgy is lappangó konfliktust a két jóbarát között. A reménytelen szerelem pedig az első kockától belengi a filmet. Morbid, amit J.T. csinál, de a film úgy jeleníti meg, mintha ez pusztán a  privát, kissé beteges szórakozás lenne. Nincs benne semmi igazán ijesztő. Legalábbis úgy van megjelenítve, mintha nem lenne. Nem látunk sem vért, sem “igazi” halottat. A film feléig a feszültségek inkább adódnak az emberi kapcsolatokból, mint deadgirl megtalalásából. Azonban ahogy haladunk előre a történetben, egyre több feszültség kerül a deadgirlel kapcsolatos történésekbe is. Egyszóval a deadgirl szál furcsán és nehezen is indul el, és nem is nagyon kerül lezárásra. Egy rakás magunkban feltett kérdésre nem kapunk választ. Ki ez a lány? Miért nem hal meg? Hogy került oda? Csak azt tudjuk meg ami a fiúk és közte történik, semmi mást.
J. T. és Rickie barátsága, Rickie rajongása JoAnn iránt és deadgirl. Ez a három szál, ami a film folyamán többszörösen keresztezi egymást. Az egyik szálon a történtek hatnak a másikra, ezért nehezen is lehet külön értelmezni őket.

Rickie a főszereplő, őt látjuk a legtöbbet és többnyire az ő álláspontjával értünk egyet. A többi karakter agyilag, érzelmileg vagy morálisan erősen deficites. A karakterek reakciói sokszor felérnek egy logikai szaltóval. Hol túlreagálnak, hol alul. Ez bárkivel előfordul, csak nem mindegy, hogy milyen szituációkról van szó. Sem J.T.-ben, sem Wheelerben nem merül fel a kérdés, hogy ki ez a halott lány, mit keres ott, miért van leláncolva. Pedig ezeknek az információknak a hiánya sodorja őket egyre durvább események felé. Pláne furcsa, hogy az első pár harapás után nem kezdenek el gondolkodni. Ráadásul nem félnek és nem is irtóznak semmitől. Annyira nem rettenti meg őket semmi, hogy az nem emberi. A viselkedésük hol normális, tinédzser fiúra jellemzőek, hol teljesen kifacsartak. Az egész filmben egyedül Rickie az, aki logikus reakciókat mutat. A színészekkel nincs gond, mert mindenki jól hozzá a rá szabott figurát, de a karakterek megírásánál, azért elcsúszott kicsit a dolog. Ha ironia, akkor nem egyértelmű. Ha nem az akkor meg pontosan mit akartak ezzel elérni? Mindenképpen aránytalan. Ez persze nem azt jelenti, hogy nincs tele színtiszta, felismerhető ironiával a film.

Olyan hangulatokat tudtak belecsempészni ebbe a moziba, amikkel nagyon ritkán találkozunk horrorban. Leheletfinom poénok vannak itt-ott elhelyezve, itt-ott fűszerezve egy kis melodrámával.  Rickie álmodozva lesi a vörös hajú JoAnnt, aki nem lehet az övé. J. T. próbálja megóvni barátját a csalódástól, de közben dühös is a lányra, aki akaratlanul is tönkre teszi a szent férfiúi barátságot. Tökéletes melodramatikus hangulat, tele érzelmekkel.  Belebonyolódunk és el is felejtjük, hogy itt a háttérben rémes események zajlanak. A legváratlanabb pillanatokban van egy kis riogatás és ott lapul bennünk egész végig balsejtelem, de annyira finoman tolódik a hangsúly a különböző szálak között, hogy a néző észrevétlenül hangolódik át egyikről a másikra. Végül a szálak összegabalyodnak.  Közben a film egyre akciódúsabb lesz és egyre többször villan fel a nagyon sötét fekete humor is. A befejezés pedig váratlan és hatásos. Ez a történet JoAnnal kezdődik, és JoAnnal is ér véget.

Dráma,  romantikus történet, thiller vagy horror film? Nyilván nem az első film, aminél ennyi műfaj keveredik, de itt szokatlan a vegyítés. Nehéz eldönteni, mert szinte azonos arányban keverednek a különböző műfaji jellemzők. Jó érzékkel felépített romantikus horror (talán ez jó meghatározás), aminek a végén maradtak olyan elvarratlan szálak, amik azt sejtetik, hogy várható a folytatás.

Egy saját világot mutat, ami egy koponya mögött épül? A valóság egy lényegibb arcát? Egy olyan történet, ahol a tudatalatti megkapja a vezető szerepet? Vagy ez az egész csak egy szűrő, ami megvéd minket a külvilág jéghideg borzalmaitól? Nem kapunk konkrét válaszokat. Egy csatorna, ahol feltör egy elfojtott világ. Egy újabb film a két világ határán bóklászókról.

Ha a külső történéseket írjuk le egymás után, egy szívszorító drámát kapunk. Egy anya, aki árvaként nőtt fel, elveszíti örökbefogadott fiát. Ezt képtelen feldolgozni. Először hallucinál, majd öngyilkos lesz.
Ha a belső történésekre koncentrálunk, akkor ez a film egy utazásról szól, ahol megtalálnak egy kaput, amin átlépnek egy boldogabb és szabadabb világba.
Nem tudjuk egyféleképpen értelmezni ezt a filmet, mert mindegyik értelmezésnél találunk valamit, ami az adott kontextusban nem stimmel. Nem lehet csak spirituálisan vagy csak racionálisan nézni ezt a történetet. Éppen ez a nyomasztó az egészben.
Joggal tehetjük fel a kérdést, hogy Az árvaház végeredményben szeretetről és a bátorságról szól, vagy a veszteségről és az őrületbe menekülésről. Bármelyik választ meg lehet indokolni.

Laura (Belén Rueda) egy tengerparti árvaházban nőtt fel. Harminc év után visszatér családjával, hogy az üresen maradt helyet fogyatékos gyermekek számára újra megnyissa. A régi romos faházban a kis Simon képzeletbeli barátra lel. Simon és Thomas bújócskáznak, tárgyakat keresnek. Laurát egyre inkább nyugtalanítja a játék. Közben egyre több dolog tér vissza gyermekkorából. A múlt utánanyúl és Laura nem csak a szép emlékeit kapja vissza.
A megnyitó napján Simon eltűnik. Laura nyomozásba kezd, hogy megtalálja kisfiát. Férje (Fernando Cayo) támogatja, de amikor Laura egyre okkulttabb dolgok felé fordul megijed és próbálja visszatartani feleségét.

A spanyol Juan Antonio Bayona rendezői bemutatkozása jól sikerült. Hihetetlen atmoszférája van a filmnek. A terek, a szereplők, a történet…. Kiráz a hideg. Erősen érezni Guillermo del Toro (Ördöggerinc, a Faun labirintusa) keze nyomát, aki ennél a mozinál producerként tevékenykedett.

Belén Rueda (A belső tenger) nagyszerűen oldja meg a kétségbeesett anya megformálást. Alakításának minden percét elhisszük. Elveszítette a szüleit, és most elveszíti a gyermekét. Beleőrült vagy eljutott egy olyan szintre az érzékelésbe, ahová kevesen. A Simont alakító Roger Pricep is telitalálat. Meg kell említeni a kis mellékszerepekben játszó színészeket, akiknek annál nagyobb szerepe van a feszültség fenntartásában. Geraldin Chaplin (médium) és Montserrat Carulla (Benigna) színrelépései a legijesztőbb pillanatok a filmben. Ez nem azt jelenti, hogy egyébként nincsenek olyan jelenetek, amik a frászt hozzák az emberre. Vannak.
Nyomasztó, félelmetes, hatásos, elgondolkodtató. Kötelező.

Llego el día y la hora, muchísimas personas se juntaron para lo que seria una forma de homenaje a Michael jakcson en lo que seria su cumpleaños numero 51, México un país que lo quiere y lo admira así como muchos otros le ofrecía un lindo tributo, un baile para el y para el mundo, aquí la crónica….

Casi 13 mil bailan ‘Thriller’

Aquel fue casi un acto surrealista. En la explanada del Monumento a la Revolución no sólo figuraron las réplicas de los míticos zombies que aparecen en el video “Thriller” de Michael Jackson, también bailaron La Santa Muerte, el Hombre Araña, Sally (la protagonista femenina de Tim Burton en “El extraño mundo de Jack”), y Eddie the head (la figura icono de la leyenda del metal, Iron Maiden). Con ellos miles de niños, adolescentes, familias enteras.

Todo con tal de romper el récord que horas antes impuso Barcelona con 697 personas, y posteriormente Londres con mil 600 personas  bailando la coreografía de “Thriller”.

A las 18:18 horas de ayer, Javier Hidalgo (director del Instituto de la Juventud del Distrito Federal) anunció que México había superado la cifra mencionada, y que se habían registrado 12 mil 937 personas que ejecutaron la coreografía, aunque en el lugar había 50 mil personas reunidas provenientes de todo el país.

Casi 3 mil personas bailaron “Beat it”

Más de tres mil fanáticos de Michael Jackson le rindieron homenaje póstumo al ejecutar de forma simultánea la coreografía del tema “Beat it”, frente al monumento al Angel de la Independencia, en la Ciudad de México.

Personas de todos los estratos sociales, infinidad de niños y decenas de imitadores de “El Rey del Pop”, emularon los pasos que se muestran en el video de la canción, y que fue producido por Jackson y Quincy Jones. Se desprende del disco más vendido de todos los tiempos: “Thriller” (1982).

El baile se realizó en punto de las 12:15 horas sobre la Avenida Paseo de la Reforma, mirando hacia la glorieta de La Palma. Fue coordinado por Alejandra de la Reguera, organizadora del evento “México baila `beat it”", así como una decena de integrantes.

Me hubiera gustado mucho estar en los 2 eventos, bailar sus canciones y convivir con la gente que tenemos mismos gustos en algo es de lo mas padre, pero por ser la primera vez que se hace esto en México y así tan masivo no me acabare criticando la gran desorganización que hubo, que si fue por parte del gobierno o de los que hicieron el evento no se y es que en el caso de thiller fueron casi 13 mil los que bailaron y 37 mil los que fueron a ver !!!! no tenían mas de un metro las personas para moverse, estaban hechas bolas, las que si bailaban con las que solo fueron a sacar su celular para grabar y hacer estorbo, igual en el caso de beat it, supongo nadie se lo esperaba, nadie se lo imagino, no lo se, pero si en el año que viene le quieren hacer lo mismo pero ahora con la fecha de su muerte o igual el de su cumple espero que haya un espacio solo para los que van a ver y otro espacio solo para los que van a bailar, que en los ensayos previos se les asigne un lugar a las personas y lo respeten, quedaron padres los 2 eventos, pero pudieron haber quedado mucho mejor y si me pongo exigente es por ser fan de Michael, que quiero lo mejor, si fuera Juan Gabriel me valdría, pero es Michael !!!

Simon Darden, columnista de el periódico inglés The Guardian, recibe una extraña fotografía, en ella parece verse a Hitler, junto a su círculo más intimo celebrando el 76 aniversario de este, la foto resulta ser auténtica a ojos de los expertos a los que consulta y quien se la ha enviado dice estar en posesión de más datos que causarían un gran impacto en la opinión pública, destapando una de las mayores mentiras de la historia, ocurrida al final de la segunda guerra mundial.

Paralelamente los servicios de investigación alemanes se enfrenta a varios asesinatos, un par de exsoldados alemanes han sido encontrados muertos, en lo que parece algún tipo de ejecución, siendo su única conexión es que ambos estuvieron destinados a intendencia hacia el final de la guerra, concretamente en el bunker de Hitler en Berlín.

A la misma vez, Heinz Rainer, quien envió la foto al periodista, tiene que escapar apresuradamente de un intento de asesinato, perpetrado por una organización con afinidades nazis, Última Thule, en su huida arrastra consigo a su vecina Elke Schultz, una concertista de violín, a quien revelará su verdadera identidad, la del biólogo Eilert Lang y de como en su expedición a la Antártida realizó un descubrimiento que costó la vida de sus 8 compañeros y puso en peligro la suya propia, pasando los 6 últimos años escondido y burlando a la muerte.

Los dos personajes se dirigirán a París para encontrarse con Simon Durden y después hacia Mallorca, para entrevistarse con uno de los últimos supervivientes de la guerra, que puede confirmar la historia de Lang.

Una novela muy amena, que presenta un thriller situado en la época presente y lo adorna con un trasfondo histórico basado en uno de los mayores misterios de la historia del siglo XX, la muerte de Adolf Hitler. La novela resulta de lectura muy liviana una vez que la historia te atrapa, siempre que no entremos a juzgar su veracidad histórica puesto que se trata de una novela de ficción.

La música de Michael Jackson, quien falleció hace unos dìas de un paro cardíaco, generará más ganancias en los próximos 12 meses de lo que ha generado en los últimos diez años.
Los medios han indicado que en toda su vida la estrella vendió un total de 750 millones de discos y la más modesta de las especulaciones calcula que de aquí a final de año la marca Michael Jackson venderá otros 50.

Fans elegirán reembolso o boletos conmemorativos.

Más de 750 mil fanáticos de Michael Jackson podrán obtener reembolsos completos por los 50 conciertos de la cancelada gira “This is It” o podrán optar por recibir boletos de recuerdo, anunciaron el lunes los promotores de la gira.

En un intento por recuperar algunas de las pérdidas de la frustrada gira “Eso es todo”, en español, la empresa AEG Live con sede en Los Ángeles dijo que los aficionados pueden recibir los boletos, que tendrán figuras “inspiradas y diseñadas” por el mismo Jackson.

Las imágenes de los boletos, que incluyen un efecto en tercera dimensión, podrán ser vistas en el sitio de internet www.MichaelJacksonLive.com a partir del miércoles, informó AEG en un comunicado. Los fanáticos tienen hasta el 14 de agosto para decidir si se quedan con ellos.

Para los que prefieran el reembolso, los cargos por servicio que pagaron a los distribuidores autorizados estarán incluidos en el dinero que les devuelvan, según el comunicado.

Los seguidores de Jackson gastaron más de 90 millones de dólares en los boletos que costaban entre 82 y 124 dólares, aunque algunos pagaron varios cientos más en subastas por internet.

AEG Live podría tener esperanzas de que los fanáticos más aguerridos deseen conservar los boletos como un recordatorio agridulce de “lo que pudo ser”, o venderlos más adelante cuando se conviertan en un objeto de colección. Algo similar ocurrió cuando Elvis Presley murió en 1977.

Elliott Parkin, un obrero de construcción de 27 años, dijo que sus amigos se van a quedar con sus boletos en honor a Jackson.

“Él será recordado por su música por encima de todo lo demás”, dijo Parkin, quien también había pensado asistir a uno de los conciertos en Londres. “Su funeral va a ser más grande que el de (la princesa) Diana”.

La muerte de Jackson dejó a AEG Live, que opera la 02 Arena donde se presentaría la estrella, con un problema colosal.

Además del dinero que recibió por las ventas de boletos, que debe ser reembolsado, ya le había pagado millones a Jackson y había gastado otros más en los preparativos para el estreno de la serie de conciertos el próximo 13 de julio, además de que uno de los principales foros de Londres se quedó con 50 noches sin ningún evento programado.

Pero la lucha por el reembolso es sólo un aspecto de lo que parece serán años de discusiones legales sobre los asuntos financieros de Jackson, incluyendo sus extensas deudas, sus bienes y la custodia de sus tres hijos.

Las batallas podrían hacer que otros litigios sobre los bienes de estrellas famosas de la música ya fallecidas como la del guitarrista Jimi Hendrix o el pionero del reggae Bob Marley parezcan minucias.

Normalmente a los promotores se les requiere que adquieran un seguro que cubra cancelaciones de conciertos o casos en que el artista no se presenta, dijo Malcolm Tarling, portavoz de la Asociación de Aseguradoras Británicas.

Muchas de las políticas en esos casos son bien específicas, y destinan niveles de pagos según el tipo de cancelación, incluyendo las causas de cualquier muerte. Si una sobredosis de drogas fue especificada como un riesgo de menor cobertura, AEG podría recibir mucho menos dinero.

Gran parte de las posibilidades de la empresa para superar esta tormenta financiera causada por la muerte de Jackson dependerán de qué tanto de sus pérdidas estén cubiertas por las aseguradas.

Además, AEG Live tenía contratos con múltiples aseguradoras para distribuir mejor el riesgo, lo que sería la receta perfecta para una serie de demandas que fácilmente podrían tardar años en resolverse.

Bart Nash, vocero de Lloyd’s, una de las aseguradoras, dijo que se realizaron diversas pólizas para cubrir los conciertos de Jackson, y cada una contaba con diversas cláusulas que podrían ser afectadas por la causa de muerte que anuncien los investigadores.

Moja ocena:
Cóż by tu oceniać? Geniusz? Wspaniałą intrygę? Napięcie? Czy może akcję? Na pewno, bo wad tutaj nie widzę.
Skomplikowana i trudna do rozgryzienia akcja. Napięcie budowane przy każdym rozdziale, tak, że czytelnik ma ochotę czytać takim tempem, jaki jest w książce. Z każdą minutą czy z każdą stroną rosło poddenerwowanie i zainteresowanie co będzie dalej. Tylko jeszcze jeden rozdział. A później, co będzie dalej? Muszę czytać. I tak szybko minęła mi książka.
Co mi się bardzo podoba w stylu Brown’a? Przede wszystkim forma z jaką buduje rozdziały. Przerywa w najbardziej odpowiednim(nieodpowiednim) miejscu, aby zacząć nowy wątek lub aby kontynuować poprzedni rozdział. I co to daje? Zwiększenie ciekawości, napięcie i możliwość podjęcia nowej myśli, dzięki czemu, autor zdecydowanie szybciej piszę książkę i może wcielić w życie dużo pomysłów.
Po drugie, konstrukcja wydarzeń. Zupełnie jak u Cobena. Napięcie rośnie, a my wcale nie jesteśmy bliżej rozwiązania. Myślimy, że wiemy kto to zrobił. A jednak nie. Trach. Nowe wydarzenie, nowi podejrzani, nowe ślady.
Po trzecie, genialne pomysły. Co z tego, że kościół straszliwie się wzburzył po wydaniu “Kodu Leonarda da Vinci” czy też “Aniołów i Demonów”? Autor nie wymyśla od tak sobie jakiś iluminatów, którzy wogle nie istnieli. Czy też korytarzy, przejść, zakamarków w Watykanie. To wszystko naprawdę istnieje. Istnieją zakamarki jakimi się poruszali. Istnieją rzeźby. A nawet droga oświecenia. To dopiero trzeba główkować nad intrygą.
Żeby to była byle jaka intryga, co to, to nie. Niby dużo pisarzy w swoich książkach naskakuje na kościół, ale czy to nie prawda, że organizowali krucjaty, czy wyprawy krzyżowe, aby “nawrócić ludzi”? Nawet teraz się pchają do Afryki, wszędzie tam gdzie są plemiona, które od tysięcy lat nie zmieniły swoich rytuałów. I po co się tam pchają? Ale wracając do tematu. Sporo jest teraz teorii spiskowych przeciwko kościołowi. A Brown nie skopiował jakiegoś tam pomysłu, aby dokuczyć instytucji chrześcijańskiej. Nie. On wymyślił własną intrygę. Zdecydowanie lepszą. Bo od środka Watykanu.
Jako ciekawostkę powiem jeszcze, że zekranizowana wersja tej ksiażki, dość wyraźnie odbiega od rzeczywistości. Kurczę a ja tak się zachwycałam nad filmem, a tu tyle pozmieniane było! Mimo wszystko utrzymuję ocenę filmu, którą dałam wcześniej. Warto było iść .

A week ago today, musician and entertainer Michael Jackson was found dead in his rented mansion. After hearing the news, my first reaction was “Well, that’s one less child molester I have to worry about.” The rest of the world however, had a very different reaction. In the days following I couldn’t go anywhere without some asshole reminding me of Jackson’s demise, and I begun to feel like I was the only person who truly did not give a fuck. All of a sudden, everyone was a Jackson fan again and everyone was playing his music. The Spanish people across the street even stopped blasting their shitty Latin American music at all hours of the day, which I hate them for by the way, and begun blasting the music of Jackson instead, which I may burn down their apartment for. I really could not understand it, but everyone else actually seemed upset that this freak had died. My own mother even called and mentioned how sad it was that Jackson had passed away. To which I responded, “Yeah sure, and think there probably aren’t any children where he’s going.”

She didn’t laugh.

Now, I know Jackson was a great and influential performer and that Thriller is pretty great. But come on people, do you really care? Cause now that a week has past I’ve had enough of this shit. Just today I walked into a connivance store to discover that they already have t-shirts for sale commemorating his life. While part of me can’t help but think about how awesome capitalism is and how people are making probably a lot of money off Jackson’s death, the rest of me has a deep hatred for anyone who buys one of those shirts.

So fuck you if you bought a Michael Jackson shirt now that he’s dead. And fuck you for listening to his music now that he’s dead. The only sadness I feel now that Jackson is dead is the sadness I have knowing I will now never have the opportunity to punch that asshole in the jugular, kick him in the shins, and poke him in the eyes. All of which fucking hurt.

What I really would like to know is if anyone remembers that Farrah Fawcett also died last week? Cause she was hot, and even though I never have before I’d totally still beat my meat to that nice dead piece of arse. Or how about Billy Mays? You know that dick who’s always on TV selling you shit you don’t need. Well he died on Sunday. But that doesn’t matter cause Jackson died and it was someone else’s children he may have touched.

Michael Jackson is dead, and we all have something to say. Gamers this week were no exception to this. Unsurprisingly there were a lot of game related stories this week. I’ve tried to put my own feelings on the reaction to his death in my satire. I know I’ve covered a lot of MJ stuff, and this is the last one. RIP MJ, thanks for being the first person I ever saw with darker skin than me.

COOL: Cool, Xbox live gave away thriller for free over Xbox Live this week to say goodbye to the star.
Why is it cool? Free stuff is always cool, more than that thriller was an awesome video. I know it’s not that big of a deal to some of us, but it’s the gesture that counts.

COOL: A new mystery game featuring Michael Jackson.
Why is it cool? The idea of another MJ game like Moonwalker, gives me chills. I remember it fondly from my childhood. Perhaps it’s just nostalgia talking.

COOL and CREEPY: Unreleased interviews.
Why is it cool? We found out that he brought arcade cabinets with him on the plane, mortal combat… which he flew with him in one of his two cargo planes.

CREEPY: EA promotes it’s new free to play game with MJ outfits.
Why is it creepy? 5 days after he’s dead and they have already got two outfits for Battlefield Heroes. Is it bad taste? I say yes, but then I also think it’s in bad taste to buy this plate. I guess if you don’t find it in bad taste, you can just slide this over into the cool column.

Like much of the rest of the world — or at least that segment of it that cares about such things — I was shocked by the unexpected death of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, last week.  News of the passing of Farrah Fawcett saddened me as well.  (The Pinup of My Generation had the misfortune of crossing the River Styx on the same day as MJ, and thus received diminished press coverage.)  Her death was actually more disheartening to me — perhaps because she had lost her struggle against cancer.  And though it may be harsh to say it, one expects — at some deep, dark, unspeakable level — that cancer is going to win most of those heroic battles.

MJ’s final departure from the stage was stunning because he, unlike Farrah Fawcett, was a part of my life almost from the moment I became aware of popular culture.  My cool cousins who lived in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D. C. had Jackson 5 albums on 8-track cassette.  (I listened to the songs so much that even today, I remember when the cassette player would “click” as it switched tracks during the music.)  I watched the Jackson 5 cartoon on TV and saw “The Wiz” in the movie theater.  And years later, as a student at a residential high school for North Carolina’s freaks and geeks, I sat spellbound in a crowded and hushed room as MJ’s “Billie Jean” premiered on MTV, then a fledgling upstart cable channel that previously had only played music videos by White artists.  From that point onward, my life could be divided into two epochs: BMJ (Before Michael Jackson) and AMJ (After Michael Jackson).  Okay, perhaps that is a bit of an exaggeration; but his music was the soundtrack of my adolescence.

The King of Pop’s personal eccentricities and later scandals, when I cared to take note of them, were in turns amusing and deeply troubling.  But the thing that really grafted MJ to my cultural DNA was his brief marriage to Lisa Marie Presley.  Elvis is the real musical love of my life; and though I participated in the joking about MJ’s relationship with Lisa Marie, I was secretly jealous of him for having wooed and won the daughter of the King.

All of this is my long-winded way of saying that I had foolishly believed, like most people in my generation, that MJ would always be with us .  We would grow old together and someday — many decades from now — die together.  None of us expected MJ to check out early.

Our 24-hour news and entertainment cycle is, at least for the moment, obsessed with measuring MJ’s impact on music, culture, and society.  That is well and proper as he was a figure of global stature, whether or not we wanted that to be the case.

But there is a small part of me that hopes against hope that the King of Pop is not really dead.  Maybe he just got tired of it all and decided finally to accept Elvis’ offer to join him at his villa in Argentina.  Rumor has it that Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina had a good time there.

Para chegar a esse sucesso, além de toda sua carreira no Jackson’s 5 e seu primeiro CD solo, o ainda negro Miki fez clipes inovadores para a época e musicas muito boas, principalmente.

Nesse CD há grandes sucessos, como Thiller. A musica que leva o nome do albúm e sua dancinha incrivel no clipe; Beat it, que já foi copiado por muitas bandinhas e, mesmo assim, nao batem a original; Billie Jean, que, sem meias palavras, fala de um caso do cantor que se relacionou com uma mulher e nao assumiu a criança que estava em seu ventre; e a faixa The Girl is Mine conta com a participação de Paul McCartney.

O albúm ganhou uma edição especial no aniversario de 25 anos, remasterizado e com faixas bonus com a comprainha de Fergie, Akon, Will.I.Am e Kanye West.

Um CD muito bom. Pena que, com sua descoloração, seu talento (e seu rancho) também foram embora. Que Michael tenha uma boa passagem no Céu ou no Inferno, para quem acredita.
Ou nao tenha, para os ateus. Mas todos os reis tem que morrer um dia, faltando apenas o Rei Pelé, o Rei Roberto Carlos e o Rei da Espanha. Logo logo o reinado será extinto da Terra, sobrando apenas as Rainhas do Pop, dos Baixinhos e a da Inglaterra.

Michael Jackson icono de la musica pop,  muere a los 50 años al llegar a un hospital en estado de coma en Los Angeles. La razon de su muerte, segun reportes hasta el momento es por un paro cardiaco que le dio en su casa.

Jackson tuvo una salud delicada a lo largo de toda su vida que lo llevaron a requerir servicios medicos, tambien tuvo 4 problemas durante el año 2005, cuando se le acusaba de abusar sexualmente de un menor.

Y en esta parte torno un poco mas a opinion personal la nota, ya que yo queria que hiciera esos shows previstos entre el 13 de julio de este año a marzo del 2010, eran 50 todos ellos en londres, para ver si lograba levantar esa imagen ya golpeada en los recientes años.
