Sometimes I can be quite gullible.

While in the train, I was told that a new ‘toy’ has been bought yet again. What’s new.

At the restaurant, I was about to be shown the new ‘toy’. It was place in a plastic bag. Upon opening the bag, I realise that it was wrap in a purple/green wrapping paper. And my 1st reaction was “Huh, this toy seller very weird, why does he needs to wrap up the toy?”

It took me about 3 seconds to realise that the ‘toy’ was in fact a present for me!!

I have the rose that you gave me. I have the lilies in the fancy lime-green pot with the pie-crimpe

I have the rose that you gave me. I have the lilies in the fancy lime-green pot with the pie-crimped edges. Somewhere, most likely, I have the cards.

I have the bra and underwear set that matches your bedroom and the belt that you commandeered for me while I giggled and played sneaky-look-out. I have your favorite book. I have less than 7 pictures of either you or us together. Perhaps even less than 5.

A number of the memories I have seem like dreams or movie clips, but the smells and sights are also so lifelike I can almost taste them when I try to remember.

I have the memory of you telling me you wanted to paint me, of you zipping up my camisole and of you snapping off my garter. I remember how deeply I would inhale the scent of your sheets and pillows and how you would laugh and return to bed at least 3 or 4 times as you worked through your early morning wake up routines. I remember the taste of the fajitas and UFC series Mickey’s on your lips as you trapped me backed up to the ledge of the counter in your kitchen.

I also remember how I would watch you as you posed. I wondered often why someone as naturally cool as yourself worked so hard in certain, unnecessary ways. I remember enjoying your opinions and quirky interest in fashion, but also wondering if you realized how hard it seemed you were trying. I have the notion that there *was* something you were trying to prove, for whatever reason, as intently as you were trying to prove to me that you were smart that night on the couch across from Nathan and his throne – our hushed cuddly drunken confessions – where you felt so proud to know something I didn’t even though before that moment I never even knew it was something you thought about.

I remember wishing then that you weren’t so materialistic, and now through hindsight being so glad it didn’t matter that I kept skimming over your faults. Time clears up short sighted excitement, and for that, hallelujah! We were no where near as compatible as we felt but we were on the right track, and I can see all of that now.

It hurts when people feel it necessary to lie, that, I won’t deny. I feel like it was bullshit that you lied and backed out so uselessly. In my brain alone, I can think of a million other ways we could have ended but you left the choice up to you, and so whatever.

Luckily, I’ve also got some new ideas on things that both work really well and things that just can’t work no matter what. I’ve got some new examples of deal breakers, and I’ve got memories and examples of world shakers.

So cheers.

I have a baby………. In fact, I have alot of things. I have a job. It’s a good

I have a baby………. In fact, I have alot of things. I have a job. It’s a good job, I earn a decent wage, it has good benefits and the working environment is bearable. Oh, I also earn more than my husband. Quite a bit more. It’s not that my husband has a crappy job, it is just that mine is better. I am not bitter about earning more. It is not his fault, I am a few years older than him and hence abit more advanced in terms of my career progression. Blah blah blah. But I do get pressured and feel……..well maybe bitter, that I have to work, that I am the bread winner. Isn’t that the mans responsibility? And when did I get so bloody old-fashioned??

I have a husband, we got married about a year and a half ago. It was a big wedding and it was pretty good. We dated for just over a year before getting engaged and got married 6 months after that. Pretty fast right? But I had enough of being in long lasting relationships that amounted in nothing. So I told husband early on, I am in this for the long run, if you are not, leave now. He didn’t. Looking back I am amused at how ballsy I was. Mind you, I had my plan, I wanted kids and I wanted them before 30. And at 27, I had little time to waste. I am so different now.

6 weeks after getting married, I discovered I was pregnant. 6 pregnancy tests later, I got it confirmed by my doctor.

I have a house full of baby equipment. Most of it cost a bomb and it still is hardly used. I have this beautiful cot next to our bed. Baby plays in it and uses it for climbing practice but sleeps in our bed. It is my fault, I let him sleep with us from when he was born, but I don’t mind. My husband kind of does. He says it is ok for now but wants baby to move out when he is older. So the bed is ours again. He misses it just being us sometimes. Sometimes I do, but mostly I would choose my sweet smelling precious baby cuddled up next to me over that snoring man that keeps trying to have sex with me every night, any day. Of course I won’t tell him that.

I have friends. Great friends. I feel guilty if I should say anything bad about my girlfriends, there is that unspoken pact that we shall not diss each other publicly. But sometimes they get on my nerves as I am sure I get on theirs. We are close friends but since my baby was born I am starting to feel the strain in maintaining the socializing required to keep that close. Especially with the childless ones.

I have a body. A fully functioning, healthy (ish) body. I am of average height and up until recently was of average weight. I have no major health problems and I am decent looking. By no way model material but I blend in with the masses. I am however overweight as mentioned earlier. This is only a recent development, brought on by pregnancy, or rather by the gross way I completely let myself go during the last few weeks of my pregnancy. I had a c-section, so I also have an overhang. I won’t elaborate, anyone with a c-section knows exactly what that is. I still have a big belly despite having an 8 month old and I still have yet to start that long planned diet.

I have so many things. So why do I sit by myself in my office thinking, what the hell am I doing?

My feet hurts on Monday, cos I’m wearing a pair that is 1 size smaller. So I pop by BHG in the evening to shop for shoes.

I got this within 10 mins. The size is available, the colour looks good and the price is right. And most importantly, untill now it still hasn’t gave me any blister. Yay I’m happy.

Here’s some of the not so good buys.

This looks good, but the heels are higher then what’s usually my acceptable level. I believe I’ve only worn them for less then 20 times.

I bought this as it’s really really cheap (only $10). The top is a bit hard though, one have to wear them often to break it in. But is painful so seldom wear (less then 5 times), I wonder when will it ever break in.

How could I resist getting this!! It’s GOLD in colour, totally cool. From Hong Kong, but the ‘cutting’ not really suitable for me, wore less then 5 times also.

1st Everbest shoes. It’s genuine leather, but is HARD leather. Gives me bloody feet everytime (nasty blister). Probably wore only thrice!!

Come to think of it, I’ve at least 3 pairs of shoes that was never worn before in my wardrobe.

Between my summer internship and my brand new, shiny iPhone (yes, I did wait in line for it; DON’T JUDGE ME) I have been extremely anti-social. 3G is pretty good, applications are AMAZING. But no copy/paste?!? Come on! For those of you struggling with this, google “iCopy” (yes, I am writing this from my iPhone and therefore cannot paste the URL). They’ve come up with a way to at least copy/paste within browsers for the time being. On the flip side, having real GPS on my phone is incredible.

Anyway, the verdict? I don’t know yet. Everytime I find something that annoys me about the iPhone, I discover a feature I like, or a new app. And if all else fails, the Blackberry Bold’s coming out soon!

Here’s a pic I took with it:

I’ve been totally obsessed with Smashbox O-GLOW, the “intuitive cheek color” that is clear in the tube and then turns a cupcake-frosting pink when applied. Aaand, it turns out it’s all a lie. You can READ ALL ABOUT IT here. Apparently you can apply it to anything – even inanimate objects – and it’ll turn pink. You know what? I don’t care. It is my Official Summer Product.

I’ve been running for a little while now. Well, if you want the full history, I won many a bronze medal on the elementary school racetrack at P.S. 91 and then in high school I ran the 400 meter dash on the varsity track team. Yeah, I had a varsity track jacket and everything and have it saved to this day mainly as evidence because everyone that knows me now knows me as an extremely lazy person. Oh, not to mention I completed the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge one year in a row. Yes, I did pretty much walk the whole way and by the time I reached the finish line they were actually tearing down all the signs and dismantling the tents and all of the finish-line water squirters had gone home, but whatevz. I have the t-shirt to prove that too.

Anyway, what’s my point? My point is that now I run. I am a Runner. And only a real Runner knows what an uglyface is and has one. I wish I knew what mine looks like but I imagine I look somewhat like this, especially when I run up a hill.

Also, I just got these Nike Shox Turbo + Vs, but apparently, according to real Runners the Shox aren’t very good on the achilles tendon. But they are so totally pretty and my stance (on pretty much everything) is, if you want to be official, you need to first look official.

Remember how I saved $90 on those two Financial Accounting textbooks and I walked around all smug and self-satisfied for a week? Well I decided to purchase my Corporate Finance book via the same channel. This is what I got:

This is great, just great…I’m going to be that kid in class with the K-Mart sneakers again. Perhaps I can start a trend and cut up one of my old Louis Vuitton bags and make a cover for it or something because out of principle, I refuse to buy a legit version of this textbook. Ironically, this one cost $90.

I am offering 3 unopened packs of YO! MTV Raps Trading Cards and some Funky Cold Medina to the person that submits the best entry for my “About Me” page. I would write it myself but I have, like, so many other important things to do.

So, since you may not have the pleasure of actually knowing anything about me, here are some facts to work with (the rest you can make up):

I was born in Romania

I like silly things, funny things, shiny things and stupid things

I’m 5′8″ (so, technically I’m more like “La Grande Princesse”)

I cannot guarantee that you will receive the Tone Loc card pictured below (hell, don’t blame me if they’re all Vanilla Ice) but I pinkie swear that if you send me your address or a P.O. Box (I know, I’d be a little frightened of me, too) I will mail you the cards and you will love them.

I’m absolutely enamored by all things shiny, shimmery and sparkly. My girl Samantha shares the same condition and actually, reading her blog reminded me that I forgot to mention one more thing I never leave home without - my David Yurman Petite Albion Citrine ring.

FYI – typically, most stores (Saks, Neiman Marcus) carry only sizes 6 and 7. I just called the new David Yurman store in Boston to see if they can resize it for me, because it is a bit loose. Saks had originally told me it’ll take about 3 weeks and they don’t recommend it because of the detailing on the band and it looks like that’s the case with the DY store as well.

My toes are curling in anticipation of that delicious feeling one gets when she slips on her Uggs after a summer of exposing herself in sandals. I know Uggs are totally jejune and unfeminine and bulbous and tasteless and all, and I really do feel like everytime I wear them, the spirit of fashion dies a little (on the inside) BUT…I can’t wait to wear them in the cheesiest, most cliche, Jessica Simpson, baggy-sweatshirt-and-leggings-with-tall-chestnut-Uggs kind of way.

My LV Speedy: I rarely go anywhere without this, it’s like an extension of me and looks great with seriously any outfit, including a baggy sweatshirt, sweatpants and Uggs.

My Blackberry Pearl: I had it first.

My Gucci shades: I know they’re men’s sunglasses but I saw them and fell in love and even though I have a pretty large head I feel like they cover up my entire face in a totally un-Nicole Ritchie sunglasses kind of way and I like that.

My iPods: So I can watch Entourage and Ugly Betty so I don’t feel compelled to shoot daggers at the people eating entire breakfast spreads on the train.

When buying books, I like to consider the cost per page. The lower the CPP, as I’ve dubbed it, the more likely I am to purchase. In 2000, I found a copy of David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest on sale at a CPP of $0.006. That’s $0.001 more than the CPP of Victor Hugo’s Le Miserables (the Signet Classic). WOW. Even the Guiness World Record title holder for longest novel ever written – Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time - has a retail CPP of $.01.

Anyway, I digress. I just bought these super hot textbooks, BRAND NEW, for $90. And the campus bookstore is charging $180. Now THAT’s financial accounting in an economic context!

Swarovski crystals, white lucite, gold (plated, but hey)…I originally fell in love with it at Karmaloop, but then found it online at Label 360. It arrived yesterday wrapped in some very edgy skull-and-crossbones tissue paper. I think I might sleep with it under my pillow tonight.
