All the words in the dictionary are British place names (the Isle of Sheppey is off the Kent coast). One sheppey is the closest distance at which sheep are still picturesque, and is about seven-eighths of a mile.

WorstPreviews.com just announced today that there is a massive leak of the upcoming Thor movie from Marvel Entertainment. This will be the third of Marvel’s motion picture deals to be controlled exclusively by ME without studio interference (the other two being Iron Man 1 and the unreleased Iron Man 2). To be honest, this spoiler leak reads like fan fiction as it is more or less identical to the basis of Avengers #1… aside from one key plot point.

If true, the Thor movie could be an almost direct adaptation from comic book page to screen… but we’ll have to wait and see. The leak below is for the plot only, but still contains spoilers that could hamper your enjoyment of the film.

So you have been warned…

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD:

In “Thor,” Loki – Odin’s (Anthony Hopkins) adopted son and Thor’s adopted brother – kills Odin to take over the throne. He then casts out Thor to Earth.

Thor lands in a desert, and is immediately ran over by a PhD cosmology student (Natalie Portman) and her Norwegian professor (Stellan Skarsgard), who were on their way to study a strange cloud in the cosmos. When they realize that Thor is who he says he is, Skarsgard’s character, who has grown up with Norse mythology, can’t quite deal with it and goes out on a drinking binge.

And even though we see Thor on Earth, AICN has confirmed that his alter-ego Donald Blake will not make an appearance.

The script closes with a 5-page battle, showing off Thor’s and Loki’s different fighting styles. Thor being very much about raw strength, while Loki being much more about motion, grace and intelligence. The closing battle will be the first thing that director Kenneth Branagh will film.

Apparently Thor will handle Loki, but will not kill him, since Loki goes on to be one of, if not the key bad guy in “The Avengers” movie.

In the first 20 minutes of the new film, Loki brainwashes Bruce Banner to gain control of the Hulk for his own evil deeds. When the green monster goes on a rampage, Thor, Iron Man and Captain America are forced to assemble.

This is all very interesting but greatly contradicts the story that has been told all along that almost the entire film would take place on Asgard with only the conclusion set on Earth. Additionally, the casting announcement from Variety this week of Thor’s human vessel/alter ego Donald Blake begs the question… what’s going on? If there is no Donald Blake, why is there a Jane Foster?

From what we’ve been told all along about the Thor movie, it would entirely take place in the mystical Asgardian realm, with only a tiny part of the movie (likely at the end of the film) taking place on Earth.

This has seemingly been the obvious scenario, especially with the plethora of casting decisions made for Asgardian characters in recent weeks including Odin, The Warriors Three and Heimdall.

Strangely enough however, Variety’s article on Tuesday about a recent cast addition (more on that below) contained a sentence reporting that the story of the Thor movie “centers on a partly disabled med student who discovers his Norse god alter ego, the hammer-swinging Thor.”

For those unfamiliar with the comics, this med student goes by the name of Donald Blake who’s Thor’s other identity. Why or how? Well, Thor’s farther Odin wanted to have his son, the God of Thunder, to learn humility and thereby puts Thor into the body of Donald Blake as an act of punishment for his reckless behavior. Odin places Thor in the body of Blake who suffers from a lame leg and Thor acquires his memories while losing his own of being a god prior to this event.

So while it may be obvious that Donald Blake will be included, or at least introduced, in the Thor movie – especially with the fact that Natalie Portman is playing a nurse of Blake’s and his love interest – It may not be the case. Hercules at Ain’t It Cool News may have found otherwise. From Hercules’s post:

“Variety’s assertion contradicted some of what we’ve heard, so we contacted a 100% tested and solid source, someone intimately familiar with the movie Kenneth Branagh is making, and he or she tells AICN Donald Blake is definitely NOT in the movie.”

That’s strange. Does that mean when Thor reaches or enters our realm, he is only Thor? Then what are Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings’ roles for and how will they interact with the title character? I’m not sure I buy that Blake isn’t in the movie at all but if he isn’t, I’m curious in how the character will be handled when he’s banished to Earth and meets our human characters.

O site AICN divulgou um gigantesco e excelente spoiler sobre a trama de Thor e do filme dos Vingadores, que logo em seguida foi apagado do site. Mas não teve jeito a notícia já está circulando na net e não só revela detalhes da história de Thor, como também conta o início da trama do filme dos Vigadores!  

Aviso que a partir daqui o texto contém spoilers, não leia se você não quer saber as surpresas do filme.

O que foi divulgado no site é que o filme de Thor começa com Odin sendo morto por Loki e expulsando o Deus do Trovão para a terra. Thor é encontrado por Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), que é uma estudante PHD em Cosmologia e um professor norueguês que estuda mitologia nórdica, que será interpretado por  Stellan Skarsgard. O professor não lida bem com revelação de que tudo que ele estudou é a pura verdade e acaba se entregando à bebida.

O roteiro termina com uma batalha de 5 páginas com a batalha entre Loki e Thor, que tem estilos diferentes de luta. Thor derrota seu irmão, mas não o mata. Meus caros leitores ai que surge o ganho para o filme dos Vingadores!

Segundo o site logo nos 20 minutos iniciais do filme, Loki aprisiona e tortura Bruce Banner e faz uma lavagem cerebral nele e consegue ter controle total sobre Hulk. A criatura verde está solta na terra e os heróis Thor, Capitão Améríca e Homem de Ferro se unem para conter o Hulk! 

Sensacional! A trama de Thor é surpreedente por um lado, já que o seu alter ego Donald Blake não deve aparecer no filme. Já a trama dos Vingadores não poderia ser melhor, já que é muito parecida com a história original da equipe nos quadrinhos. Agora resta saber  e torcer para que todas essas informações sejam verdadeiras.

No elenco de Thor temos hris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Jaimie Alexander (Sif),Stuart Townsend (Fandral), Ray Stevenson (Volstagg), Tadanobu Asano (Hogun), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Kat Dennings,  Stellan Skarsgård. e Colm Feore.

Já o filme dos Vingadores tem estreia marcada para 4 de maio de 2012.

The Story: Bill’s final fate is determined while Sif and the Warriors Three battle the doombots.

What’s Good: If you approach this book as just another 22-page issue of JMS’ run on Thor, it really is pretty solid and is consistent with the series’ quality as of late, at least as far as the writing is concerned.  It’s also got a couple of moments that’ll have you saying “hell yeah.”

Chief among these scenes is one involving a very angry and very naked Volstagg that is a perfect combination of comedy and pure awesome.  It is, of course, that same combination that defines the character himself.  The sequence is outrageously badass, but maintains Volstagg’s characteristic charm.  Oh, and Hogun and Fandral are absolutely on fire this month with the fat jokes.

Most readers are probably coming to this issue most concerned about the fate of Bill.  At first, it’s hard not to be a little disappointed.  That said, if you expected him to scream “I HAVE THE POWER,” turn into a god, and battle Doom, you’ll be sorely disappointed, but really, such an ending would be just a little stupid.

Instead, Bill’s ending is the best he can manage by just being Bill, and so Straczynski maintains the integrity of the character and his sub-plot.  Make no mistake, he is a hero and, ultimately, he is accepted as an Asgardian, but he does so without abandoning his humble roots or acquiring superhuman powers.  Bill’s tale has always been about being a mortal, a little guy in a world suddenly populated by the very large.  Bill’s fate is only so poignant because JMS retains this theme; Bill remains that little guy, but even so, he manages become a hero among the biggest of the bigs.

Meanwhile, JMS leaves us hanging regarding Kelda.  I think we all suspected she was more powerful than she let on, and now we’re going to see that in action.

What’s Not So Good: It’s hard not to be a little underwhelmed by this issue.  JMS’ run has had such an epic quality, that it’s hard not to expect his final issue to be grander.  What we get isn’t really any sort of massive flourish or cataclysmic ending.  Rather, we just get another solid JMS issue that simply lives up to the quality of his previous issues, no more and no less.   This final issue really has no feeling of closure and though the cover may say “finale,” that’s not what we’ve gotten.  That said, the issue also didn’t contain the sort of “hot potato” landmark shift in status quo that writers often leave off their runs with.  Ultimately, this feels like the last issue of a story arc, but certainly not the last issue of a run.

Finally, this may be the worst looking issue of Thor that Djurdjevic has drawn.  While the art is by no means unbearable, it’s weak by the standards Djurdjevic and Coipel have set for the series.  It reeks of an artist desperately trying to make a deadline.  The level of detail continually falters, with many of the more zoomed out shots and smaller panels suffering a great deal.  There are also a few panels where Donald Blake looks like a substantially younger version of himself.  Having three different inkers on the book also certainly didn’t help, making the book feel even messier with its details even more in question.  It makes the book feel sloppy, chaotic even.

Conclusion: It’s a strong issue of Thor, but it’s not the “finale” it claims itself to be.

Idris Elba is a busy, busy man. He’s got Takers and The Losers coming up, plus he has been cast as Heimdell in the new Thor film.

However, he also stars in Legacy and is also the film’s executive producer.

Written and directed by filmmaker Thomas Ikimi, Legacy co-stars Eamonn Walker (Lord of War), Monique Gabriela Curnen (The Dark Knight), Richard Brake (Batman Begins), and Clarke Peters (The Wire).

Described as a Hitchcockian style psychological thriller with action elements similar to Paul Greengrass’ Bourne films, the plot of Legacy centers on AWOL special forces operative Malcolm Gray (Elba) as he attempts to hide out in New York following an inexplicably failed mission in Eastern Europe.

Jeremy Renner, who was so great in The Hurt Locker and was batted around as a possibility to become the new Mad Max, is saying he may appear as the superhero archer Hawkeye in a couple of Marvel movies. How do you stock a couple of films with multiple minor superheroes and not have them all look silly? By casting people like Renner, who can do a lot with very little material.

The Playlist transcribed some quotes from the UK edition of Empire, in which Renner says he’s been having discussions with Marvel about playing Hawkeye in at least two upcoming Marvel films, then appearing in The Avengers in a full-blown role, rather than a cameo. If the deal did go through, sounds like he’d at least cameo in Thor before  The Avengers hits. At the end of Captain America, perhaps? Seems very late to be shoehorned into Iron Man 2, but anything is possible.

Renner says “Hawkeye could be interesting. They’re going to send me some stuff on it, see what it is. But I think they’re pretty awesome, trying to make superhero movies almost plausible and not just some fantasy thing”.

Surgiu hoje um boato daqueles que todo mundo torce para que seja verdade, a Marvel Studios pretende colocar o Gavião Arqueiro em um dos seus próximos e já teria até encontrado um intérprete para o personagem.

O ator Jeremy Renner deu a entender em entrevista à revista Empire, que pode ser o intérprete do Gavião Negro no cinema. Segundo ator, o estúdio mandou materiais para ele analisar e afirmou que gosta da ideia de ser um super-heroi, desde que seja um personagem realista e não só um homem vestindo uma fantasia.

Renner está fazendo sucesso em Hollywood, depois de sua atuação no filme Guerra ao Terror, que aqui foi lançado direto para DVD e sem nenhuma propaganda.

Se for confirmado a escolha de Renner, o mais provável é que o Gavião Arqueiro apareça no filme do Thor. Deixando todo mundo ainda mais ansioso pela estreia do filme dos Vingadores, que só acontece em 2012.

Clint Barton, or Hawkeye, has been one of the mainstays of the comic book Avengers. A man with no superpowers but a talent with a bow and arrow. He was inspired to turn hero by seeing Iron Man in action and had a team up with Black Widow, before breaking into Avengers Mansion to join the team.

Like most comic book characters he has died, had amnesia, yadda yadda yadda. Last I heard he was running around the normal Marvel Universe as a character called Ronin (basically all ninja type stuff) and in the Ultimates Universe he was totally bad ass but had his family wiped out and he went all out balls nasty on the bad guys (I’ve used a pic of this version as I think they’ll go the more realistic looking route in the film version).

Okay, hope that brought you up to speed at least a little on the character – Wikipedia have a lot more detail.

Jeremy Renner is the American actor who starred in S.W.A.T., 28 Weeks Later and blew the house down in Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker where he portrayed the lone wolf devil may care SSgt William James who I figure could be a similar kind of character, in some aspects, to Hawkeye.

The reason he could be Hawkeye is that The Playlist spotted an interview with Empire where he said, “Hawkeye could be interesting. They’re going to send me some stuff on it, see what it is. But I think they’re pretty awesome, trying to make superhero movies almost plausible and not just some fantasy thing.”

Looking at the recent Marvel Studio films I reckon Hawkeye could be a cameo in either Thor, Iron Man 2 or Captain America (as Iron Man 2 has finished shooting I doubt it will be that one, unless they are super sneaky) and then we see him more in The Avengers film. Just a theory.

De acuerdo a los últimos avances que se han dado sobre el film Thor, está ya confirmado que esta cinta estará ligada a la película Los Vengadores. Según lo que se dio a conocer, Loki tomará control de Hulk para vengarse de la derrota inflingida por el Dios del Rayo, lo que obligará a los demás superhéroes Marvel a formar un frente común. Lo que es un hecho, es que la misma sólo se podrá comenzar a producir hasta que se haya iniciado el rodaje de Capitán América, pues será básica para la misma. Como nota adicional, hay que estar al tanto de Iron Man 2, pues parece que dentro de la misma habrá una pista más sobre la próxima película.

Oggi su Superherohype dice che l’attore Jeremy Renner interpreterà Occhio di Falco, e che la Marvel cercava qualcuno per questo rupolo in una scena di Thor dove appariranno tutti i supereroi insieme (si mormora qualcosa sulla falsa riga del Nick Fury di Iron Man)

Desde el inicio de esta semana, Natalie Portman soltó el rumor de  que Kat Dennings se uniría al cast de Thor próximamente por lo que los rumores han comenzado a circular, finalmente hoy tenemos la confirmación: Kat Dennings se une al cast de la venidera película sobre el dios del Trueno, se ha mencionado que Dennings hará el papel de Darcy una compañera de trabajo de Jane Foster, interpretada por Natalie Portman.

Siguiendo con el tema, se ha mencionado que el origen de Thor será un poco alterado, de manera que el alter ego humano del dios del trueno será un estudiante de medicina  parcialmente discapacitado, que descubrirá el alter ego Nórdico en el, lo cual podría o no, significar que Donald Blake será este alter ego humano, mas info dentro de pronto

listos los warriors Three para su debut cinematografico

Los grandes compañeros Asgardianos de Thor, Fandral, Hogun y Volstagg que usualmente aparecen juntos e incluso han formado el grupo Warriors Three, tambien aparecerán en la pantalla grande, con la venidera película de Thor en el 2011.

Fandral será interpretado por Stuart Townsend, a quien recordamos por su papel de Dorian Gray en la película League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,   asi como Hogun será  Tadanobu Asano (Zatoichi, 2003) y Volstagg correrá a cargo de Ray Stevenson ( Punisher War Zone, Cirque du Freak y la serie de televisión Rome.)

Despite most of the people I know having huge pull lists this week, mine was actually pretty small. Just five books: Invincible Iron Man #20, New Avengers #59, Uncanny X-Men #517, Ms. Marvel #47, and Giant-Size Thor.

Invincible Iron Man #20: This was my favorite comic this week, though I knew it would be going in, so I’m probably a little biased. This is the title I’ve been most impatient about waiting for the next one for, and I get a little giddy whenever I realize it’s going to be Iron Man week. (There may be a little dance. I’m neither confirming or denying this.) I love what Fraction has been doing with the series, and while I’ll admit the idea of Tony erasing his mind had be a little wary, I trusted Fraction and so far he hasn’t let me down. Despite the fact there is currently nothing in Tony’s head, this comic still managed to give us a good look inside of it, and I liked that, both with the message he left behind and what I’m guessing is some kind of wacky coma dream. I will say I kind of wanted to smack Pepper for her whole “why is Tony the one who gets to live” thing, but that’s probably just me bringing my own feelings about the characters in more than anything else. (It still felt in character and right for her.) I also liked the summary of the series so far in the back. Well done. (And this doesn’t really matter one way or another, but I’m ready Captain America Who Is Not Bucky to get himself all reborn and stuff…)

New Avengers #59: First off: hell yeah, you don’t @#$^ with Luke Cage. (Hey, Osborne — stop @#$^’ing with Luke Cage. I’m getting nervous over here…) Despite the fact that I’m not the world’s biggest Bendis fan (though I can tolerate him more than some other current writers), I’ve actually really been enjoying this series. I can also admit to myself (and the Internet, apparently) that a lot of that is simply because seeing Clint (I hate calling him “Ronin”) and Mockingbird together again makes me giddy. (However, as previously touched upon, needs less Bucky-Cap. Do not like.)

Uncanny X-Men #517: I like Rogue. I went as Rogue for Halloween for three years in a row. Rogue was awesome in this one. I  really like what Fraction has been doing with Magneto (there Fraction goes, being The Man again), and I’m curious to see where he goes from here. But I just have to say, Namor — Buddy, I get that you’re the King of Atlantis. You’re special. That’s great. But could you still wear pants more? Please? I have never been a fan of your speedo, and that has not changed.

Ms. Marvel #47: This was kinda adorable, and I literally laughed out loud when Spider-Man claimed to be Wolverine. Peter Parker with nothing to say was great, and I never in a million years would’ve thought that “cute” would be the word I’d describe for a date between Parker and Carol Danvers, but I’m just going to go ahead and say it here. That was cute. The Marvel talent-inspired business names was a nice touch as well. (Also, Ms. Marvel ending soon gives me my sad panda face. Why do you want to give me sad panda face, Marvel?)

Giant-Size Thor: I liked it, but I can’t honestly think of a single thing to say about it. I’m sure that’ll change in the next Thor, when there will be Dr. Doom. Granted, it’ll probably just be a lot of Doom fangirl babbling, but I’ll have something to say. (Yes, I just called myself a Doom fangirl. What of it, huh?)

I went through a very difficult journey the past few days.  I was dealing with old energies from my childhood. I made some unhappy realizations like my inner child is so far incapable of believing that being molested didn’t ruin her and that she is absol-freaking-lutely TERRIFIED by masculinity. I had no idea…. I had to work with some very painful emotions and energies and I know I’m not done, just out on another spiral of my journey. It’s hard.

As if to make me feel better after that, I was meditating and was climbing Yggdrasil, the World Tree, when it suddenly turned into a bridge I was walking across… and into Asgard. I met with Odin and Thor and they helped me with my fear and my pain and told me what I needed to hear and then they blessed me. I fell in love with Thor all over again, recognizing how my deep love of thunderstorms is all part of my love for him. That was a surprising and blessed experience.
