0
The human mind seeks to create order out of Chaos
It is in the nature of humanity to attempt to formulate laws from experience
as a guide to future action. Acting as a feedback-response
mechanism, the mind considers the results of previous behaviour and
creates laws of action in an attempt to repeat past good results and
avoid bad results. In the individual this is known as personality, in
the communal world it is known as science.

1
All scientific laws are false
Science attempts to map the universe as a result of previous collective
experience. Since this is limited to what has actually been
experienced so far, it is always inadequate, and since it is not what
has been experienced it is always human-centred. It cannot be objective
because the object does not experience, only the subject, humanity,
experiences. Two approaches have been used to tackle this problem.
The philosophy of the western world posits that an external,
objective world interacts with us through scientific experiment, thus
science creates objectively true laws. Other European philosophy
holds, correctly in my view, that talk of an objective reality is
beyond experience and is thus meaningless babble. Moreover, scientific
experiment is no more objective than a childs attempt to walk. To Know
is not a high ideal, it is an instinct born of our particular way of
survival, and is thus survival-centred. Science is our Elephant Trunk,
our Giraffe Neck, and since it is inherently inadequate, it is a
belief system, a set of interconnected ideas-about-things. In terms of
European, Post-Hegelian philosophy, it is an ideology.

2
All idealogies are subject to chaotic dissolution
Every idealogy, whether science, Christianity or whatever, seeks to
and succeeds in creating a coherent view of reality that satisfies its
believers. The problem is that there is inevitably a gulf between the
idealogy and reality. Ideologies are fixed; reality is fluid. Thus all
ideologies are subject to readjustment when a new discovery challenges
the existing view. The rediscovery of the Greek text of the New
Testament and the discovery of the non-existence of the Ether each
corroded the existing ideologies of their day.
The Christian world responded with Reformation and Counter-Reformation.
(Historical note: Counter-Reformation was the Reformation of the
Catholic Church rather than an attack on the Protestant Reformation.)
Science responded with Einsteinian relativity. These new elements are
Chaotic. The extent to which the ideology can reform depends on how
deep the Chaotic element bites into the ideological structure. Every
ideology has central tenets upon which the rest depend: so the discovery
that Jesus was actually stoned to death rather than crucified
would cause major rumblings; the discovery that he was a woman would
cause deeper rumblings; but the discovery that he was a spaceman
carrying out a standard sociological experiment would bring down the
ideology entire. Several ideologies have completely collapsed in the
past, such as Ptolomaic astronomy, and it can happen again. Moreover,
the spread of a unified ideology over the whole globe, Western Democracy,
leaves the way open to a bigger collapse than ever before.

1253

3
There is no such thing as innate value
All present Western ideologies depend upon a concept of innate
worth, whereby certain things are automatically "better" than
others. The White Race, Men, Adults, all have had their "innate"
value knocked for six. Even the Animal Kingdom is no longer seen as
of higher worth than the Vegetable as the spread of the Gaia
hypothesis shows. This is the Chaotic element that can bring down a
whole pack of cards. There is no ethical reference point, no
beginning from which to derive an end to aim for, to praise, to work
towards. As it says in Liber Al: "let there be no difference made
between one thing and another". The result is a confusion of belief
as people scramble to find a new ideology. Fundamentalists choose
deliberate blindness and perverse stupidity. Thelemites choose "pure
will, unassuaged of purpose". Chaoists worship the confusion itself
as the only "true thing" left. Pagans begin to construct a new
ideology based on the absence of heirarchy and turn to cyclical and
egalitarian beliefs. That a new ideology, or many, will arise is
inevitable; even the truth of Chaos is only true to us, in our
experience. But so what. All things considered, I think that things
are going pretty well.

Say we must stop global warming, unnatural insemination

By Lewis Page • Get more from this author

Free whitepaper – Managing operating systems and applications with the new Dell Management Console

A boffin at the Bulgarian national Space Research Institute has stated that not only are aliens living among us, but that they object strongly to "immoral behaviour" by humanity – such as causing global warming. "Unnatural" acts such as use of cosmetics and "artificial insemination" are also frowned upon by the extraterrestrial visitors.

Luchezar Filipov, deputy head of the space institute at the government’s Bulgarian Academy of Science, made these startling assertions to Bulgarian media earlier this week.

The Sofia Echo, referencing other local media, quotes the eminent space brainbox as stating that "they [aliens] are here right now, among us" and that the extraterrestrials are "conducting surveillance" and – chillingly – "research" on humanity.

“They are currently all around us, and are watching us all the time. They are not hostile towards us; rather, they want to help us but we have not grown enough in order to establish direct contact with them," said the Bulgarian boffin, according to Sofia news agency novinite.com.

Reportedly Filipov and unnamed colleagues have elicited this information by decrypting messages hidden within crop circles. The crop-circle "pictograms" were said to have been a response to questions posed by the Academy scientists.

Crop-circle comms being unreliable, Filipov apparently feels that future direct contact will come through the medium of "mental power and telepathy". However, some basic themes have apparently been made clear.

"The aliens are very critical of our immoral behaviour and our destruction of the environment," says Filipov, according to the Echo. "They say that global warming is attributed mainly to infrastructural engineering."

Presumably the star-travelling aliens have long ago graduated to advanced energy sources such as nuclear fusion or antimatter, and sneer at our pathetic fossil-fuelled civilisation.

Filipov stated that the alien spies in our midst have other objections to our lifestyle, too.

"They are very skeptical of our use of cosmetics, and artificial insemination because this is unnatural," he reportedly said.

There was no word on the aliens’ views on gang-probing of humans abducted as part of their "research" programme.

Read all about it from the Echo and novinite.com here and here. ®

having thought about it, i’ve been consistently happy for some time now, it’s never happened before and it’s really weird; but i’m hardly complaining. in fact, the only thing i have been complaining about really is my hair ~ was having it cut short a mistake? does it ever look good? should i grow it out? what a pointless thing to think about! other people say it looks nice, so it looks nice!

moment of insanity over, what else is new….

driving last night was less than fun, i just wish i knew how to do it and be done, i hate this learning process, it makes me feel inadequate. my instructor however, is the nicest guy, we ended up discussing catholicism, abortion, self-confidence, morality, homosexuals, racism, illegal downloading…. that’s probably why i couldn’t drive so well

getting work at college sorted; my coursework is going to be 1000 words over the limit at this rate… that ’s not good, but it doesn’t matter.

christmas: i’ve almost sorted my secret santa, there’s one more parcel to come through the post and i’ll have finished. steve’s birthday present is proving more elusive…

It wasn’t all that long ago when my agent suggested I start a FaceBook page. I recall I asked, “What is that?”

It turned out to be much fun and a great way to network. When I finally get my book ready to go, most of my travel plans have been generated by my WordPress friends, but FaceBook has added a significant number of destinations to my road map.

I know folks say you can waste a lot of time on it, but it has saved time for me. About all I post on Facebook is a ‘Song of the Day’ first thing in the morning, and then it is off to work. Just like WordPress, I have learned much from my readers there too. In the long run I think it has saved time because I have been able to find all the music folks and have a way to contact them. In Harvey County back in the pre-computer era we were somewhat isolated and had no way to do this, especially in such short period of time.

If y’all aren’t on FaceBook, give it some thought. I’ve got 1000+ friends over there, and it is a good group. (I found MySpace a little scary) If nothing else you’ll learn a lot about traditional music, as mine is populated with a number of folks who make their living in that industry.

I’ll be back for my Monday morning post, for now gonna take in some more holiday with the young’uns.

In these modern times we put too much emphasis on material things and on money. We believe that money is power. If we have money, people will respect us. If we have money, people will admire us. If we have money, we can have anything we want. Maybe we can purchase anything in the material world, but we cannot purchase anything in the Unseen World. The Unseen World is not for sale. It can only be given away. Love, affection, admiration, trust, respect, commitment — these must be earned or given away. If we use these things from the Unseen World, we are using real power. – Manga Coloradas- Apache

The concept of money seems to be front and center in the world, especially here in the US where the very recent past promoted a mindset of spending beyond our means. This spending and the banking and lending systems promotion of it, has lead to a downfall in the economy that has had global impact.

In this season of spending, it’s a good time to reflect on the issue of money in your life. Musicians are often stymied in the attempt to parlay their awesome talent into a proper monetary living. Guarantees for gigs are eroded by travel, hotel and food expenses, equipment upkeep and transportation costs. We sacrifice much to bring our gifts outside our home bases. We spend time and effort and energy in the studio, and may find ourselves away from home and loved ones for days. And at the end of the run, we’re given an envelope containing our monetary equivalent to the life energy we just spent. And often, the energy spent doesn’t quite seem to equal the dollars.

While we ply a music living in the terrestrial world, there is another world to be cognisant of, an unseen world where honor, trust, loyalty, talent and love abound. We cannot purchase these intangible but necessary elements of life. Each musician, each artist has to feel appreciated, loved, admired and respected and encouraged to bring forth the talent and gifts spirit has bestwed upon her. Money paid for services rendered often doesn’t equal the sweat, effort and sacrifice musicians must make.

Today, as a musician or a fan, dote on those who reciprocate our love of music and our gifts. Tell a fan how much you appreciate them being at shows. Tell your bass player you admire him for helping book your project. Shower your audiences, friends and support personal with the love and affection they show you each time they attend a show, buy a tee shirt or purchase a download. Respect your talent, drive and ambition away from the measure of money. Value the assets of the unseen world.

This is the season once more! Amid the chestnuts, open fires, and mistletoes, holiday cheer signals the busy season for marketers. How can you meet consumer needs, especially during a recession? Over on Open Forum, Julia Rogers from Recession wire has several suggestions:

• Bring your customers together.

• Ask your prospects and clients what’s on their holiday wish list through surveys … and give yourself the gift of case studies and testimonials from satisfied clients.

• Create a “12 days of different products and services” promotion.

• Emphasize family in your marketing campaigns.

Click over to the article for explanations. On one hand, I sometimes feel like resenting the marketing and commercialism surrounding the holidays. On the other, I have to sometimes admit that the holidays wouldn’t be the same without heartwarming sweater ads, multi-colored Oreos, and this year’s John Krasinski in Gap ads. The Macy’s Christmas display and Thanksgiving parades, after all, are classics. Oh, modern holiday strife.

I’m now at a crossroads. This is my opportunity to make the most important decision I’ll ever make. I’m going to forget my past. I must not think what I was. I must know who I’m now. I must compare myself to what I had decided myself to become with who I’m now. I’ll have to take a decision regarding this. I must take this decision very consciously, very carefully, and very powerfully.

Yes, I must be confident… of course I’m but I’ll have to make this confidence stronger.

My wife and I have been vegetarian for over 5 years, I never really even think about it or mention it, ok apart from now an then on this blog. I’m not on some crusade to make the world vegetarian and I’m happy for people to eat meat if they want to. I believe you can only make a life changing action like giving up meat because you really want to, doing it to please others or as some rebellious statement is not the way to go . Reluctant vegetarians will never stick with it for long and it will make life very miserable for everyone, except for the animals that is.

I gave up eating all flesh because of a movie Pam Anderson had done on KFC chicken farms. This one film was enough to change my view of the meat industry. I know that there are farmers that do care about their animals and try to give them a good life. But as money becomes more tight people will want things cheaper and cheaper it will be animals that will have to pay the price, in a uncaring money motivated food chain. Personally if I had to eat meat (which I don’t) I would pay more for it and only buy food from a ethical farming line.

Eating meat is optional for humans I know this is not the case for other animals, I choose not to force vegetarianism on my dog any more than I give my guinea pigs a T-BONE.

Below are the cartoons the Meatrix and Meatrix 2 they relay the message without scaring you with shocking images of the real thing , which I think at times can be counter productive.

If your happy to eat meat that is fine, just don’t eat it in ignorance.

Good Morning Friends….

Here are some fabulous life lessons…

* Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

* Memorize your favorite poem.

* Don’t believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

* When you say, “I love you”, mean it.

* When you say, “I’m sorry”, look the person in the eye.

* Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

* Believe in love at first sight.

* Never laugh at anyone’s dreams.

* Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it’s the only way to live life completely.

* In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. * Don’t judge people by their relatives.

* Talk slowly but think quickly.

* When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, smile and ask, “Why do you want to know?”

* Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

* Call your mom.

* Say “bless you” when you hear someone sneeze.

* When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.

* Remember the three R’s: Respect for self; Respect for others; Responsibility for all your actions.

* Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

* When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

* Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

* Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

* Spend some time alone.

* Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.

* Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

* Read more books and watch less TV.

* Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll get to enjoy it a second time.

* A loving atmosphere in your home is so important. Do all you can to create a tranquil harmonious home.

* In disagreements with loved ones, deal with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.

* Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.

* Be gentle with the earth.

* Pray. There’s immeasurable power in it.

* Never interrupt when you are being flattered.

* Mind your own business.

* Don’t trust a man/woman who doesn’t close his/her eyes when you kiss.

* At least once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.

* If you make a lot of money, put it to use helping others while you are living. That is wealth’s greatest satisfaction.

* Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a stroke of luck.

* Learn the rules then break some.

* Remember that the best relationship is one where your love for each other is greater than your need for each other.

* Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

* Remember that your character is your destiny.

* Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

You apparently don’t understand what randomness means. ‘A bias in the probability’ of something is pretty much exactly what we mean by non-random. Throwing dice is proverbially a random process. If you throw a die a thousand times, you expect to get a series of random numbers. If a particular die was biased towards, say, even numbers, it would deliver a non-random series of numbers. If natural selection is a bias in the probability of reproduction with respect to phenotype, that is equivalent to saying it is non-random. Do you really seriously not understand that?

i had three and a half hours of sleep last night, plus a twenty minute nap between 6:10 and 6:30 ~ i don’t know why i couldn’t sleep, but it was a horrible experience. on the plus side, i read most of my book.

What am I thankful for?

1. I am thankful for God’s grace and the blessings that he has given me. I am strong, intelligent, able-bodied, and healthy.
2. I am thankful for my family. I am sitting here with my family, my Nanny, and Pat. We’re all just sitting around the fire and chatting. I am thankful that I have these people who can all sit around without getting too angry with each other. I’m glad that we didn’t have to have alcohol in order to be around each other, like many families have to do in order to be around each other.
3. I am thankful for Anna and for Dustin. I am thankful that the two of them will always be there for me, and that they will always be there for me.
4. I am thankful for my kitty, Alvin.
5. I am thankful for Jars of Clay.
6. I am thankful for music, in general. For the piano, for the harpsichord, for the guitar, for the mandolin, for the fiddle.
7. I am thankful for pecan pie and pumpkin rolls.
8. I am thankful for coffee.
9. I am thankful for literature.
10. I am thankful for the puzzles in this world. They make everything more interesting.

I have that we always forget to say “Thanks” except on Thanksgiving Day. It’s sad. It’s sad that we all act so selfish and like we have absolutely nothing, except for a day that the greeting card companies tell us that we have to say thanks. I really wish that we could always be thankful. I think the world would be much calmer, and everything would be a lot easier if everyone didn’t feel so “deprived.”

For flowers that bloom about our feet;
For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet;
For song of bird, and hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee!

Have you ever watched a Sumo fight? May be you are wondering like me what on earth is the outcome of the fight? I have a best friend who loves sumo fight. We used to watch some of the sumo fights when we were back home. OK! What’s up with that then? Wait! I would like to tell you something interesting about these big, fat, giant-like wrestlers. These guys in order to get this huge muscle and thick layer of fat body they get up early in the morning like 6 O’clock, skip breakfast and start training for at lest 4 to 5 hours with an empty stomach. So, by the time you and I are ready (depend on where your location is) for lunch, they will be ready for a breakfast and hot bath (furo). There is no limit to what they eat. They eat a huge amount of food and go to sleep. That is how they get this massive fat body. Because their metabolism is so low, they are exposed to diabetics, high blood pressure, and heart attack. Their life expectancy is also very low comparing to the average person.

For most people skipping breakfast is a common strategy for losing weight but I tell you this, it is not a smart choice. I am not here to tell you “how to lose or gain weight.” That is a topic, which I have never been interested in. But when you skip breakfast your body become weak and your brain function become low. And the worst part of it is by the mid day, you are so hungry and crabby so you are tempted to eat a large amount of food that you don’t do on a regular basis or might be tempted to make unhealthy food choices. Then after lunch you become more tired, and sleepy. You go back to your office and sit or if you are home you go to sleep.

Like skipping breakfast leads you to unnecessary food choices during the day and make your body and mind function so slow, if you don’t feed your soul, spirit and mind each day with the word of God your life is exposed to unnecessary and unhealthy choices, actions and thoughts throughout the day. The first thing we do early in the morning should be to meet with our Father in heaven and enjoy the sweet fellowship with Him through reading His words and praying. Jesus was doing the same thing. He never started his day without having fellowship with his father. Hey! It’s a very simple principle. If Jesus did it we should do it. Look Mark 1:35 “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

We need to start our day having a sweet fellowship with our Father. I know most of you are busy with work, school, and family…. But try to find sometime before the kids gets up, before you get distracted with different things while you are clean, fresh,… and then start your day with the word of God. Start your day with worship, prayer, praise, and meditating with the promises of God. When you start the day with the word of God, God equips you with his wisdom and power to face all the trials and battles of the coming day.

Let me tell you one of the devil’s most insidious and successful methods to deceive people. Keeping them busy! There is nothing wrong being busy with the necessary duties and responsibilities. However, because the devil knows the power of prayer and word of God, he keeps many people busy with non-essentials. You must know that it is the devil that is working to get you to stop praying, having fellowship with God. It is the devil who wants you to skip breakfast. So that your spiritual metabolism is low, and be exposed to all negative side effects of unhealthy choices that you will make throughout the day. I am not talking about the food that is necessary for your body, but the spiritual breakfast, the sweet fellowship with God in prayer, meditation and worship. Make prayer your first priority.

In his daily life Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed (Luke 5: 21). He didn’t allow his life to become too busy to pray. How you start your day matter. Some people start their day with coffee, some with news, some with odd thoughts and negativity. The first part of the day is the foundation to the rest of the day. So, start your day with the Lord. A life without God is nothing and it is meaningless. In Ecclesiastes 6:2, the word of God says you can get wealth, you can get possessions, you can get honor, but if you don’t have God at the center of your life, you don’t have the capacity to really enjoy all those things you worked so hard to accumulate. START YOUR DAY WITH GOD.

Don’t skip the fellowship, the blessing that you will have with your creator, father and God. Well some of you say, “ I don’t have time. I don’t have enough time to pray or meditate.” Listen, what are your priorities for your life? Build your life around those priorities. Remember what Jesus said to Martha? “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10: 41-42.

I want to tell you in every season of life, no matter how old or how young you are, there will be something that will keep you from having a daily devotional life. But don’t skip the sweet fellowship with God. The word of God in Psalms 5:3 says “My voice you shall hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning I will direct it to you.”

So, tomorrow don’t skip breakfast! Rather, have breakfast with God. God bless you all!!!

Today we have learned that the Obama administration has already “spent” $3.52 TRILLION dollars. The appropriate question is what have we gotten for this alarmingly obese expenditure in such a short amount of time?

Seven million lost jobs, an unemployment figure well over 10%, a $1.4 TRILLION dollar deficit and over 500 bank failures..(and that’s just for starters..) By the way, when Bush was in office, the liberals were perpetually in a diarrhea panic over a deficit that was ONE TRILLION dollars smaller..(a deficit put in place by a Demokratic House and Senate..) Obama has “spent” almost 25% of what Clinton did in EIGHT YEARS.

Liberals, like all people with inferiority complexes, have to “buy” their friends. No one would claim to befriend them in public unless they were constantly picking up the tab for those who outwardly snicker at them once they leave the room. The big problem is, the tab is being paid for with the tax dollars pilfered from the middle class and the people being rewarded for their sloth by the liberals contribute nothing of consequence to either society or the economy..

A liberal government does not create jobs, it continually makes them disappear.. A liberal government does not create wealth it misappropriates and redistributes it. A liberal government stifles job creation and economic growth by taxing the job creators and the nation’s consumers.

The bigger that government gets, the more inefficient and the more ineffective it becomes. The liberals always strive to make government as BIG as it possibly can for just those reasons.

All of the gulled galoots of the left have said that Obama and his election to higher office was “historic” and that he was “making history”.. With numbers like these, this is the kind of “history” that we could certainly do without..

I’ve never been a professional musician but I’m sure thankful for my people and

I’ve never been a professional musician but I’m sure thankful for my people and the music.

When I was courting my wife we were into the Beatles. I bought a cheap guitar and sang bad versions of their tunes to her. Bless her heart; she married me anyway. I married her ’cause I thought she would give me beautiful children (the beauty part wasn’t gonna come from me I assure you) and the plan worked. She gave me a Gibson mandolin too, and encouraged me to play and not work all the time. What is it the Ten Commandments say? (paraphrased) “Honor thy father and mother and cherish your wife,” or something like that.

My daughter went with me to every show I ever played. My rule was if it wasn’t fitting for a little girl I didn’t sign up for the gig. She still saw some questionable venues. Nature trumped nurture though, and she grew up pretty and sweet is spite of her raising. (Warning guys: She she has a black belt in karate too.)

As a young doc, I worked way too hard. I was exhausted half the time. When my son got a driver’s permit I handed him the car keys, tossed my mandolin in the back door, sat down in the passenger seat, opened up a newspaper, and promptly fell asleep. He drove me everywhere we went. We’d wind up at some mountain bluegrass festival by magic, and I was rested enough to play.

I met Darin Aldridge along the way. He treated me like a second father. Due to his influence, I’ve won the award for best mandolin player on the medical staff at Harvey Memorial more times than Rob Ickes has snared the IBMA Dobro player of the year. (eleven) After all that, Darin sent me to finishing school for some more study with Wayne Benson. If a man has Darin on his right hand and Wayne on the left, he has no excuse not to make a mandolin player. I am thankful for both of them.

For decades now I’ve picked with the best regional players around, but my day job keeps me close to home, and we don’t travel far. We have an active local music scene though, and the national bands play in our area every so often.

Every time a band comes through Harvey County I take in the show if I am in town, and always thank them for what they do. Medicine is a tough road. (So is the music circuit) I take it hard whenever my people suffer and playing, listening to, and writing about music is my escape. And bless my staff and fellow docs. They grant me the time to go play, and so do my patients.

To everyone who ever played a note of this wonderful music, either with me on stage or for me when I was in the crowd, I send you my sincerest Thanksgiving best wishes, and pray you have a fine holiday. I doubt I’d still be alive without you, and I know I wouldn’t be as happy.

My whole life has been set to a soundtrack, and I’m richer for it. I appreciate all my readers. You not only follow my story but contribute to it. My life is so much better to have found you, and I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving.
