We’ve had a great number of inquiries about SEC Championship Tickets for the game in Atlanta,

We’ve had a great number of inquiries about SEC Championship Tickets for the game in Atlanta, GA at the Georgia Dome. Fans want to know which sides or sections will be for Alabama and which will be for Florida. Below is a seating chart and legend to help you out, but basically it’s pretty easy… The SEC East team, Florida, has the East side of the stadium, and the SEC West team, Alabama, has the West side of the stadium.

Tickets allotted to Florida are in sections 124-135, 333-347. Alabama allotment includes 101-107, 136-140 and 301-310, 348-352. If you assume the natural split of the remaning sections will follow that would be:

University of Florida Gators

Sec 116-135

Sec 222-247

Sec 322-347

University of Alabama Crimson Tide

Sec 101-115, 136-140

Sec 200-221, 248-251

Sec 301-321, 348-352

A good article in The New Republic about the great opportunities that sports fans will have in 2009.

Darren Rovell says “Some ticket prices are just downright stupid” and he’s right, we’ve got lots of tickets selling for lower than the price printed on the ticket. NBA and NHL tickets selling at $10 per ticket. NFL playoff tickets selling for $40 to $50 per ticket. We even gave away tickets for free in certain markets to our existing clients and those signed up for our email list (An important reason to join our email list).

Rovell mentions deals for the BCS and other bowl games on StubHub that are well below face value. He’s exactly right, except he fails to mention the best deals are going to come from ticket brokers than own inventory like TicketCity. We have the largest inventory of tickets in the entire secondary market, so naturally we’re going to have fantastic deals for those looking for a bargain on tickets.

So 2009 should be a great year for Sports Fans looking to buy tickets. Just remember to shop TicketCity to find the best deals on tickets.

Everyone is, apparently, ready for some football.

Half of our top search traffic for the month of July was related to football, both college and pro. Savvy football ticket shoppers can find great deals on tickets before the season even begins. Once the season is in full gear, and a team heats up, so do the tickets.

Apparently the Brothers Jonas are also popular, appearing at the very top and once more for good measure. Having eclipsed the age of 30, I am rather unfamiliar with them. I bet they’re just fine with that fact.

This weekend I had the pleasure of seeing Seinfeld live (my apologies for the lousy picture as it was the best I could snap without being caught). How did I get front row center seats at face value? Piece of cake – as long as the ticketing vendor uses ticket outlets. Simply show up at the outlet 10 minutes before tickets go on sale (it takes 10 minutes to get someone at the store to come over to the ticket register, dust off the keyboard, remember how to place an order, etc.) – don’t worry, nobody else will be in line as no one else buys tickets at outlets. Two minutes after the tickets go on sale you’ll walk out with the best seats in the house.

Perhaps this post will reunite the pre-Internet ticket outlet fervor of the ’80s and ’90s, but I doubt it. Why?

The use of ticket outlets is bad economics for EVERYONE!

Ticket buyers pay the same fees at outlets as they pay for buying tickets over the phone and web. Here’s what I paid: $75 per tix plus a $10.80 per tix convenience charge – that’s 14.4% in convenience fees for buying at the outlet!

Establishing and maintaining ticket outlets cost ticket sellers a lot of money, time, and resources.

The outlet (i.e. grocery store chains, etc.) sell so few tickets that it can’t be worth the time and energy to train their staff on how to place orders.

When was the last time you were in the check out line with your box of Ho Ho’s and said “let me walk over to the unmanned ticket counter, wait 10 minutes for someone to show up, and grab some tix to an event?” How inconvenient! Why not call and buy the tix using your cell phone on the way home?

Has anyone seen any hard data that shows that ticket outlets increase profitability for anyone? Your doctored sales report from your ticketing vendor doesn’t count.

Cross sale? I think not. Does anyone ever go to a store to buy their groceries because they can also buy tickets to an event?

Why do old school ticketing companies still use/promote brick-and-mortar ticket outlets?

Sunk costs – they’ve invested heavily in ticket outlets and try to justify their past investment decisions.

It seems logical that the more places tix are on sale, the more tix you’ll sell. WRONG! It’s about overall profit, not top line revenue. It’s about getting the message to the people that’ll most likely purchase tickets and buy a bunch of stuff while at the event. Why not send a targeted email to likely buyers FOR FREE with a couple of clicks of the mouse or use viral event promotion tools like Promotozoa – one of our newest product offerings (check out some of our beta clients: Comedy Club Stardome, Exit/In, The BottleTree)?

But I’ll lose the customers that’ll only pay with cash? You think you actually make any money off the tightwad that only uses cash? The 0.0001% of the population that only uses cash is not your ideal customer – trust me.

At TicketBiscuit, we’d rather invest in building better tools that are proven to sell more tickets and increase everyone’s bottom line. Call us old fashion, but we like having a profitable business model that is flexibile, low cost, and high value to all parties in the supply chain.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are working hard to fill up the 56,000 seats in Dodger Stadium. They want to increase attendance down the stretch so they can get closer to matching their 47K per game attendance total from 2007; they are currently average just over 45K fans per game.

To perk up attendance the Dodgers are partnering with Travelzoo to offer step discounts on Dodger home games to Travelzoo members. Dodgers fans who buy their tickets on Travelzoo will receive discounts on select games that are worth more than 50% off the face value. They are charging $3.00 on reserved seats that normally sell for $16.00 and $18.00 on field box seats that normally retail for $50.00 per ticket. Fans just need to go to the Travelzoo website and use the promotional code: TZOOJULY. Before you rush off to Travelzoo, make sure you check out some of the deals we have to offer.

The Dodgers have been battling for first-place in their division of the National League all season, so the demand has been up-and-down throughout the year. There has been lukewarm demand for certain “big” series, but many games are already selling at below face value on TicketCity.com. For instance, there are Fieldbox seats selling for below face value for the upcoming Marlins vs Dodgers game.

There are some fantastic deals to see the Dodgers on the road when they play the SF Giants. Tickets for the Dodgers 3-game series at AT&T Park in San Francisco versus the Giants are less than $20 per game. In face we offer cheap San Francisco Giants tickets for all of their home games at gorgeous AT&T Park. The San Fran weather is warmer this time of year, so get out and see a game.

Summer is a busy time for fans looking to see their favorite artist or performer in concert. There will be dozens of top notch acts touring this Summer, and thousands of more concerts and shows that draw huge crowds. So how do you get the best deal when buying concert tickets?

A Chicago Tribune article about how to find a good deal on concert tickets stated that between 1996 and 2003 the average price for concert tickets increased by 11%. The article also provided a few tips for how to find affordable concert tickets. Here are a few more tips on how to find the best deal on concert tickets:

* Buy tickets at face value through the public on-sale
* Check to see if any tickets are going to be sold via a pre-sale prior to the main on-sale.
* Join the artist’s fan club to get access to discounts, or preferred seating.
* Keep checking with the venue box office even if they say the show is “sold out”, they often hold back tickets for the artist or their promoter that they release later on.
* Search Craigslist to find someone with extra tickets they are selling cheap. Just be wary of ticket scams if you go this route.
* Contact TicketCity to find the concert tickets you need. We are a reliable source for the best seats for your show and can save you a lot of time.

If you are a fan of college sports then this is your favorite time of the year, because March Madness is officially upon us. The NCAA Tournament invites 65 teams to play in a one-game elimination tournament. The tournament is divided up until 4 regions (South, Midwest, East & West) and the four winning teams from each region advance to the Final Four.

This years Final Four is being playing in San Antonio, Texas at the Alamodome. Buy Final 4 tickets at TicketCity.

A few tidbits about the Final Four in San Antonio:
* Session 1 includes both Semifinal games (afternoon game & night game) on Saturday.
* Session 2 is one game, the Championship game on Monday night.
* Behind the baskets there are 20 rows of risers, which are popular seats.
* The first row of permanent seating is row 6, the last row is row 35.
* Anything above row 30 is under the Upper-Level overhang. So it has an obstructed view of the score board.
* Alcohol is only served is in the suites.
* The Club-Level has shorter lines for everything and slightly better concessions.
* The first 10 rows of the Upper-Level sidecourt are a very good seat for the price.
* There are no courtside seats for any NCAA Tournament sites. There will be the band, some photographers and a big open space between the crowd and the court
* There are two sessions for the Final Four.

Where do the seats get distributed by the NCAA, for the Final Four?
35% – The 4 teams playing in Final Four
22% – General Public
10% – Host committee

Super Bowl XLII is set. The AFC’s New England Patriots will face off against the NFC’s N

Super Bowl XLII is set. The AFC’s New England Patriots will face off against the NFC’s New York Giants. The game will be played on February 3rd, 2008 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Ticket prices for this year’s Super Bowl are the highest they’ve been in recent years, starting right now around $3500.00 per ticket.

So why are ticket prices higher for the 2008 Super Bowl:
1) It’s the Super Bowl, and there is always a tremendous amount of demand for a huge event like this. Both from fans of the teams and corporate buyers; attending the Super Bowl is a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience. And our prices are based on the market price, which is driven by supply & demand.

2) Super Bowl tickets are hard to procure. Very few people have access to buy Super Bowl tickets at face value (approx. $700). The NFL offers a percentage to fans of the host team (Arizona Cardinals), and a similar percentage to the participating teams (Giants & Patriots). The rest are spread around the league, with a large portion going to corporate sponsors and NFL executives. That means almost every ticket that is on the secondary ticket market comes from one of these ticket owners. Who know the value of the tickets and usually ask very high prices to sell. Also, many of the tickets on the secondary market have changed hands a few times with the asking price increasing every time they are bought/sold. So with few tickets available and each seller commanding top dollar be paid them, our prices are often just a little more than we paid. And that doesn’t even factor in that we have to travel to great lengths just to get the Super Bowl tickets from the sellers.

3) The two teams are from large East Coast markets, which are accustomed to higher entertainment prices. New York and Boston are both meccas for sports/entertainment, so fans from both locations typically pay higher prices to see big sporting events (e.g.- Red Sox or Yankees playoffs). Many New Yorkers won’t flinch at paying a price, that someone in another NFL city would not consider paying.

4) The Pats are undefeated, and going for a record season. Sure, New England has played in the Super Bowl a few times in recent years. But this year is different. Starting with the Spygate scandal at the beginning of the season, it’s obvious the Patriots (and their fanbase) have been on a mission. The game in Glendale is the final roadblock on their way to a historic season. So even though Bostonians have paid to attend Super Bowls and World Series games in recent years, a whole lot of them will want to be in Arizona to see this game in-person.

5) The Giants are from New York. NY Giants fans are passionate, and a lot of them will travel to Glendale for this game.

Keys to buying Super Bowl tickets:
* Be very careful with who you buy Super Bowl tickets from, so as to avoid scams & fake tickets. Avoid buying them ‘on the street’ outside the stadium. Do not ever agree to wire money to someone to buy tickets. Be extremely careful of buying tickets that you find through online classified sites or online auction sites. Just because the site is reputable, does not mean the sellers on there will be.

* Buy from an experienced ticket seller, who has been in the business for a number of years. There are a lot of ticket brokers to choose from, but you are better off working with one that has vast experience in this event. You might pay a few bucks more, but it’s worth it to make sure you do in-fact get the tickets you ordered. Also, make sure the ticket source you buy from has a clearly worded refund policy, in-case there are any problems.

* Ticket prices, like stocks, can fluctuate greatly. So finding the right time to buy is a key. Don’t get caught up in the initial hype to buy; first take stock of the market to see what is being offered. Check as many ticket sources as possible to make sure you have an accurate gauge of the market. Even call a few to see if they are offering any tickets specials that might not be listed online. Try to establish repoire with a Sales Associate, as this could be who you ultimately buy your Super Bowl tickets from. So both build the relationship and make sure you feel comfortable buying from them. Ask questions if you are unsure of certain policies. Last, you might be be able to save a few dollars on your order if you agree to pay with a check. That could save the ticket company a few % points in credit card fees. But only do that if you are working with a large, established ticket company. And remember that paying via credit card does ensure you certain protections against fraud that paying by check does not.

* Make sure you understand the ticket delivery instructions. On major events, like Super Bowl, it is often required to pick up your tickets on-location. This is a fairly standard practice for ticket brokers. But again, make sure you are dealing with a large, established company who has experience in dealing with the Super Bowl. And then make sure you clearly understand when and where you will be picking up your tickets. You should receive a written confirmation of that from the company where you purchase your tickets. Last, make sure you have contact information so you can stay in-touch with the company where you buy your tickets. If they are hard to reach, do you really want to buy Super Bowl tickets from them?

Super Bowl XLII should be a terrific event. It is a rematch of the week 17 game between the Patriots and Giants, that the Pats barely won by 3 points. So if you are planning to attend the big game, I hope you enjoy Super Bowl Week. There are lots of great activities and parties going on, so please call us if you are need of tickets for those.
