El disco en su primera semana de lanzamiento ocupó altos puestos en las listas de ventas como un 6º puesto en Canadá, o un 2º puesto en Países Bajos mientras que en España no pasó del 87.

This past Saturday I went ahead and popped my cherry. My Tiesto cherry that is. And, boy oh BOY, did it feel good.

Tiesto played this past Saturday night at the Cow Palace arena in Daly City (San Francisco), and I could not have been happier with the show. He is a true professional, in every sense of the word. It was just him on stage, with huge screens behind him, strobe lights, confetti, confetti strings, smoke, and fire. Definitely a production in the best way.

Kaleidoscopes are still rip roaring and running through my head and I wish that I was back there right meow. Here is a great video I found on YouTube that kinda, just kinda, explains the amazingness that was my Saturday night.

DL-Three Six Mafia ft Tiesto sean kingston & flo Rida

Ok – it’s Monday. Who REALLY likes Mondays? Not many of us I presume. This Monday is going to be different. Why? Because this post is going to be all about Tiesto! (Sorry in advance to those of you who are not fans). In anticipation for Tiesto’s slew of performances this coming week at LA’s Shrine Auditorium, I wanted to get everyone pumped up for the show – yes that includes MYSELF! I could literally sit here and name all of Tiesto’s top songs, my favorites, or best collaborations, but there’s not time for that. Since he just released new album Kaleidoscope in October 2009, I will be listing my favorite tracks off this new cd. Got a new remix from High Contrast, he has remixed Tiesto’s track “Kaleidoscope”, of course into a drum and bass smasher. High Contrast is just a phenomenal producer, every track he touches seems to turn to gold. This one is no different, bit darker than usual, but that is no bad thing, and there are as always just great breakdowns. This is a definite download.

Also got the great new track from J Majik and Wikaman, well actually  Zulu remix of the track “Feel About You”. This is a wicked track and the remix makes the beat more Jumpy and Grimey. I just love deepness of this track, that plus the chopped up vocal here makes this remix as good as the original maybe even better.

Last track is one I am loving at the moment, Its a bit different from the other tracks. Its Chew Fu and Wiley with a track called “Take That”. It is a proper electro banger, with Wiley rapping over it and it sounds great. Got some big wonky, dirty bass. Wiley sounds really good on this track, defiantly the best thing he’s done since “Wearin my Rolex”. Have a listen and I think you’ll be impressed.

Tijs is helemaal van de samenwerkingen de laatste tijd. Eerst Sigur Rós, toen Dizzee Rascal en nu is het de Three 6 Mafia waar Tiësto mee samenwerkt.

Zo gaat Tijs toch weer helemaal terug naar zijn roots in da hood van Breda.

Was het nummer met Jónsi van Sigur Rós nog wel aardig, het nummer met Dizzee Rascal (en dan wel de versie op Dizzee’s album) echt goed, deze samenwerking met Three Six Maffia is eigenlijk best beroerd.

Actually I really dont know what happened, but I can tell you something about Tiesto.

Form 2002 to 2004 he was named the world best dj !

His name is an Italian twist of his real name: Tijs Michiel Verwest.

Just after releasing his second studio album Just Be in 2004, at the Summer Olympics he performed live at the opening ceremony in Athens, Greece becoming the first DJ to play live on stage at an Olympics Games.

As one of my favorite drum’n'bass producer, High Contrast has never failed to deliver and this one is no exception. This remix has epic written all over it and will bring hands in the air during any peak hour d’n'b sets. I luv it.

If the police are gonna bust DJs, can they at least go after on the ones that play really bad trance?

First, they came for your fajitas. Now, they want your J. Dilla records.

The SF Weekly just posted a story today about how cops are busting into parties and fundraisers and ganking people’s laptops and sound systems. When I first heard about this, I got really angry. Like how I get when I hear that someone was brutally murdered and it wasn’t Glenn Beck.

It just seemed so ridiculous and unjust that in a city plagued with dozens of unsolved murders every year the cops would focus on busting up little dance parties. Every night, the streets are crawling with junkies breaking into cars, bike thieves and much worse, yet the po-po’s decide to crack down  on consenting adults who want to have a few drinks and listen to loud music after the bars close (we’re not talking about epic raves filled with 14-year-old ecstasy fiends and Special K zombies here).

And this type of “enforcement” is obviously highly selective – you know they would never dream of busting into an “unpermitted” late night party in a Pacific Heights mansion and confiscate every laptop in the house.

But then, I saw this story about a cop tazing a 10-year-old girl in Arkansas – and his chief defending it. And then I saw this other story about Detoit cops stealing millions of dollars from innocent people. And then I saw this article in the Guardian about how SF’s new police chief is probably looking to reduce the power of the Office of Citizen Complaints… and I wasn’t so angry anymore. Just hungry…. Hungry for revenge!

Who wants to bust into a cop party with me and steal all their donuts?!

I was never a true Tiësto fan but things are changing pretty quickly. I love this new disco-house remix by Avicii. He is able to limit the rawness Tiësto brings to the table just enough to jar in the vocals perfectly.  It’s a great backdrop or party filler as the synth just fills whatever mood you need it to. Other gems like this are coming around from Tiësto lately. If you haven’t caught some of the more mainstream collaborations with Tegan & Sara than you should. It’s a bit on the pop side but has its catchy moments.
